Zeugma Mosaics Museum
1. Zeugma Mosaics Museum

Archaeological museum
Museums
Sprawling museum exhibiting a vast collection of mosaic art & relics dating back to ancient Rome.
Slide 1 of 8
Had a wonderful time visiting the museum. Walls and floors of intricate mosaic decorations from the Roman era. Some of the mosaics are very long and elaborate, some were restored and some are in process. The museum houses the Gypsy Girl mosaic which is compared to Mona Lisa. Takes about an hour or so to see the museum and discover it in full.
A fascinating museum. It's the largest museum of its kind in the world, and it houses some of the most important mosaics in the world. This isn't just any museum, it opens the doors to the ancient world, and in each mosaic, we delve into different histories. As a tourist, I paid 12 euros, but Turks only pay 100 TL. It was a fascinating experience that I highly recommend! It's incredible to see such ancient and well-preserved things up close, visiting this museum is a true journey through time.
Location: Near the silk road, 10-15 min by car from courthouse. Ticket: 100 ₺ / person for citizen, mandatory to have museum card; 12€/ person for foreigner which is extremely high! Pretty big and amazed with historical information with such archaeological finds.
It is amazing museum lot of excellent pieces to see beautiful mosaics super rich culture and presenting very well nice museum a lot of information.
Impressive museum. Quite expensive to visit but a spectacular collection of mosaics. It could do with more contextual information about the lives, economy etc if those who created them. And also some more detail about the recovery and restoration of the mosaics. But overall very much worth spending time here.
Wow. It’s mind boggling how they created such patterns using mosaic pieces. Truely awe inspiring. Sone of the mosaics are huge. Definitely one of the best museums in Turkey.
Absolutely amazing museum! Must visit and enjoy the beautiful mosaic. The Gipsy girl is so alive…
An absolutely wonderful museum. Bring your Bluetooth earbuds; the audio tour is included in the entry price and really brings the exhibits to life. I think there were 45 or so stations! The museum is also beautifully laid out. The entrance fee was 12€ per person for foreigners and was well worth it
Gaziantep Metropolitan Municipality Zoo
2. Gaziantep Metropolitan Municipality Zoo
4.3

Zoo
Outdoor Activities
Turkey's largest zoo features a huge variety of animals, along with safari tours & an aquarium.
Slide 1 of 8
There is a huge effort, the shelters and care of the animals are very well organized. An almost perfect organization has been provided. I must say that the only shortcoming is that no brochures/maps are given at the entrance. Because first-time visitors cannot understand the location of the areas.
Very poor maintenance. Monkeys, birds and reptiles are tucked in small enclosed spaces. Monkey house and reptile house are not ventilated and smells horrible. Aquarium was so small but it had some piranhas which was the only interesting thing. The only funny thing i’ve encountered was the fighting bear figures placed under a dinosaur fossil replica lmao. The same installment had some dead animals in formaldehyde solution which were probably never been replaced with new solution. It was a nauseating experience overall. I decided to leave after seeing the neglected bird cage that no one seem to care about, didn’t even went to see other parts. Would not recommend.
This place has alot of potential. Much of the indoor areas if not all are closed to the public. The animals are not properly cared for, especially the avian species. Much of the exotic bird species are exhibiting signs of extreme depression and solitude (feather plucking, picking at the roof, frustrated behavior). It is not healthy to keep so many large social birds in such an enclosed space with a lack of attention. This is extremely unfair to the birds. It appears there is a lack of a proper caretaker for these birds and they desperately need the right love. I hope the park brings this to their attention promptly.
What a wonderful place, its very big that you need more than 4 hours to see everything, their are many kinds of animals with a description of each one on the outside of its cage. If you visited Gaziantep, you should come and visit this place. A great place to bring your kids to. And the entrance price is very low, about 1.5 dollars.
Safe & clean, a good visit for families. One of he biggest zoo in the world with hundreds of animals available to see. Its huge in here so you better free off your whole afternoon or morning. It is super affordable too.
The animal cages are large and the existing nets hinder the vision of some animals, but in general it is a very beautiful place and it is recommended to visit it and it is very interesting for children because of the large and safe space
The best zoo i have visited in my life (i have visited many in Germany and in Spain), very wide variations from well treated animals, good organised and very clean
Various kinds of animals and very clean and green spaces Great place for kids

Built in the 2nd century CE, this stone castle now houses a military history museum.
Slide 1 of 8
The castle jas an amazing view, the surrounding area is magnificent you can find a lot of antique shops, cafes and restaurants.
If your in the city this attraction is well worth a visit. If you are really interested in the history, there is alot of text you can read while walking through the museum part of this site on your way up to the tip of the castle. Once you get on the top most of the area you can't really look out, but there's a viewing area were you can look and take photos. 30-60 min is enough at this attraction in my opinion. If I were to come back with friends I would probably take them to see it, but seeing it once is enough. Overall a nice attraction that's worth a visit.
Not a handicap friendly place, neither are the employees, very rude. And you can either enter by wireless payment or you cant. The entrance fee is 20 tl. Wish theyd higher the fee and invest more in their employees.
The castle /fortress is very well preserved. Inside there is a small museum for the battle for Gaziantep during the Turkish War of Independence. Amazing view to the city from the top.
Nice castle and pretty big, encompasses a lot of old-fashioned shops and Mosques around, they are really eye catching and attractive, there are too a lot of restaurants, the area there has touristic character This castle does have a huge similarity with Aleppo citadel which is the biggest castle in the world
Great experience! Whether you're interested in history or not you must visit the castle! You'll fall for the 3d painting of the historical events! If you're a fan of over the top view of the city you'll love the scenery!
Gaziantep Castle is a nice historical place that worth to visit while you are in Gaziantep. From the castle a beautiful view is opening because castle is in the high place, on the hill. Castle has played an important role in the protection of a city in the war during the Ottoman empire times. There is museum inside the castle with audio story and main political figures. İt's important place for Turkish people to remember and respect their history.
One the main historical places of old town Gazinatep. Gaziantep Castle is a castle first built by the Hittite Empire as an observation point and later built into a main castle by the Roman Empire on top of a hill at the center of Gaziantep, Turkey, in 2nd and 3rd centuries AD. It underwent further expansion and renovation under Emperor Justinianus between 527 and 565 AD. The entrance fee is 10TL paying with bank card.

This private museum is so quaint. It is rather small but gives a good idea about Gaziantep cuisine abd kitchen.
Stumbled over this hotel on my way back from the castle decided to go in since I was already there. It's a small place, but still has alot of information. If you don't go here, you don't miss out on much, but it's worth a quick look if your nearby. For me 10-15 minutes was enough.
Nicely displayed kitchen/ cooking utensils in a small sized museum. Nothing extremely exciting and entry coasts 5 tLs.
Local museum on behalf of one of famous families in Gaziantep. Gaziantep cuisine traditions and old kitchen tools are displayed.
Small building with a many interesting stuffs about Gaziantep kitchen
It was too small though you can find out many information about Gaziantep dishes and kitchen stuff
Interesting place to while away some time if you happen to visit Gaziantep, especially if you enjoy food. The museum is set in an interesting house not far from the castle. It is well designed and has static displays of the culinary history of the area. Most importantly, write ups are both in Turkish and English. Take the time to locate this museum the day you visit the castle - if you are interested in food.
Say the name Gaziantep to a Turk, and they'll usually start talking about food. This city is known as one of the country's culinary capitals, so it's no surprise that there's a museum dedicated to its food. The layout and excellent information panels guide you through Gaziantep's most famed dishes, which of course include the sticky, syrupy delights of the town's baklava, but also plenty of savory dishes that have an extra-spicy kick compared to much of Turkish cuisine. You'll most likely walk out of the museum hungry, so study up the information panels while in the museum and then head out with your new knowledge to taste some local flavors for lunch.

Imposing Byzantine fortress ruins offering sweeping views from its peninsular locale.
Slide 1 of 8
A bit difficult to get to but totally worth it. I wish swimming was allowed. Even in the middle of October, it was totally swimmable. There is also glass floor viewing area. We went up onto the second floor of the small restaurant, and were rewarded with even better views.
This was a beautiful location. The scenes of the old fort on the top of the mountain and by the water were great. The boat trip wasn't expensive at all. 200 lira per person and it is around 2 hours with the stop.
Wow! This place is fantastic. It was nice and quiet in April but you can see that they are gearing up for a lot of visitors come summer. There is a lot of work happening on the cliff side. Looks like it’ll be amazing. Hope that in the future you can visit the ancient site….don’t know what their future plans are for the area. We look forward to coming back.
Sublime view. Euphrates horseshoe bend with a byzantine fortress at golden hour ticks all the boxes. Small fee to access the panoramic terrace, but well worth it. It's not exactly easy to get to but worth the detour if travelling between malatya/mt nemrut and gazantiep.
Rumkale is located in the Yavuzeli district of Gaziantep. It was built on steep cliffs at the confluence of the Merzimen Stream with the Firat River. Today, because it is surrounded on three sides by a reservoir, it looks like a peninsula. The castle, which has been called by various names throughout history, such as Shitamrat, Kala Romayta, Khromkley, Ranculat, Kalat el Rum, Kalat el Muslimin and Kale-i Zerrin (Golden Fortress) from ancient times to the present day, has two bodies. forms. The first body was created by creating a natural wall by cutting the rock vertically in the east, north and west. The second body was built as a fortress wall of solid limestone blocks on top of this natural wall. There are seven rectangular bastions on the northern and eastern walls and numerous loopholes in the north. The rocky continuation of the castle in the south was cut out and turned into a moat in the 12th century; thus, the direct connection of the castle with the land was interrupted.
Rumkale is an old Byzantine fortress with a fantastic history surrounding it. There is great signage to get to it. Once you arrive to the area there are numerous viewing platforms to catch a glimpse of the magnificent fortress. There is a bit of parking by the castle itself but also a large parking lot about a 10 minute walk away. IMPORTANT: To get to the castle itself, you have to take a short boat ride. We heard that prices were ~15 TL per person but the fortress itself was closed for renovations. There are some places with limited selections of food, snacks, and souvenirs. They also offer boat tours around the euphrates for ~100 TL per person. You can also take a boat ride to the nearby zeugma archeological site. The castle is incredibly beautiful and definitely worth a visit!
This is the New place built bu the belediye it is called "cam terası" İt has a very niiiiice view you can have a lot of beautiful photos and memories here. There is a park near the teras you can bring your own breakfast with you or if you want there is a restaurant/cafe there. After that you can go down and have a tour by the ships there.
Rumkale (lit. 'Roman Castle') is a ruined fortress on the Euphrates, located in the province of Gaziantep and 50 km west of Şanlıurfa. Although Rumkale is sometimes linked with places mentioned in ancient sources, the foundations of the structure can be traced back to the Byzantine rule the earliest, when the fortress was the seat of a Syriac Orthodox bishopric. Rumkale evolved into a town when its Armenian civilian population grew in the 11th century. The fortress slipped away from the Byzantine rule when Philaretos Brachamios (r. 1071–1087), a Byzantine general of Armenian origin, usurped control of the region amidst the political turmoil caused by the Battle of Manzikert in 1071. Rumkale then came under Kogh Vasil, whose adoptive son and successor Vasil Dgha was tortured by Baldwin II of Edessa and forced to relinquish his lands, including Rumkale, to the Crusader states in 1116. Sometime between 1148 and 1150, Catholicos Grigor III Pahlavuni purchased the fortress making it the headquarters of the Armenian Apostolic Church, although it continued to house Syriac Orthodox and Catholic representatives. The town later became part of the Armenian Kingdom of Cilicia, and by 1268, became isolated from the rest of the Cilician domains.

A trip to memory lane. Very nice place to spend time and to remember our childhood with simple toys. There's also cave under the building. Worth to visit
A great museum for young and old. An interesting walk round a charming museum that had some toys that I could remember from my early childhood in the 50s to even earlier toys that had been so expertly crafted out of the materials available at the time. A bonus for us was free age related entry that we thought was only offered to Turkish citizens. Entry is less than 40TL. We visited during Eid so it was busy but not uncomfortably so. Well worth a visit. There are stairs to climb to reach some of the exhibition rooms. There's also a cafe and more importantly toilets.
One of my favourite places of Gaziantep ! I totally love the idea of the cave! The other is equally stunning with all those old dolls . Nutcracker is simply great!
The cave area is very well thought out and organized.
Incredible story of toys and dolls from many centuries ago. Many of unique toys from many different countries, cultures and times. Recommended to visit with kids especially.
Very nice museum especially for kids.
One of those special ones. I wasn’t expecting old toys to hit me in the feels so hard, but they did. Highly recommended if you can see its deeper significance
Absolutely fantastic, some great toys from the past, particularly a very impressive collection of old German and US toys.

A beautiful private museum in an old stone mansion. Entrance is 4 liras for adults and 2 liras for students. The collection is pretty interesting. Since the museum is not very big, most probably you will spend less than an hour here.
A small museum with lot of different objects. Roman period sculptures, some jewelry are from the collection. Actually it is located in one of old Gaziantep style stone homes and has nice patio to chill out and have some tea.
It was very interesting place. You can learn how acient people created this kind of culture...
A small museum hidden in an alley near the castle. It takes about 30-45 minutes to see everything. The price is acceptable for what you get.
Awsome display of small objects from Sumerians to Romans. Glass is the least interesting part. Half hour is enough.
Nice museum for a quick visit who interested in making glass and a little historical stuffs about coins and some crying bottles.
Lots of glass work, if you're interested in :)

Everywhere looks very colorful and beautiful, but the only problem is that the tops of all the spices and foods are open. At the same time, while the spice tastings are taking place, everyone remains in the hands-on zone. Tasting can be done with small plastic spoons etc. This place seems like it's 20-30 years behind. Very nice and interesting museum. You learn a lot about the city Gaziantep. All the local arts can be seen. Old and lovely building.
Excellent food and service , the best in Gaziantep. Very nice atmosphere with seating inside and outside.
The museum is not adapted for international travellers. All writings are in Turkish with no translation provided. I will have to come back there after learning Turkish to be able to read all about the history of Gaziantep. The museum is basically just big stands with pictures and a lot of writing (only in Turkish), not much of artifacts. The building is very beautiful from the outside though.
Unfortunately it was closed when I went, darn.
This building belonged to one of the prominent families of Gaziantep who wanted it to be used as a museum showing the cultural life of Gaziantep since the beginning of the Republic of Turkey (1923). It used to be one of the most progressive cities in Anatolia and you can see little sections on various cultural aspects of the city.
The place is super expensive yet nothing special as food. However, the place is prestigious when it comes to service and decorations. Live music and parties take place as well.
Probably one of the best restaurants in Gaziantep et very well located. Ideal for an after-work beer and a nice dinner.

Small and still under construction in some areas. However, it is a nice green space.
It closes at 5 p.m. It is better to go a little early. I really liked the Japanese Garden. There are also different types of plants. It is not very professional, but it offers a natural atmosphere in the center of the city.

The are few fire 🔥 places in case you forgot to get your own grill
*This is a place with biological pond, there is a restaurant in there and as any usual restaurant in Gaziantep you will absolutely find kebab menus :D *In point of fact I don't like this place and I always to refuse any kind of events there It seems very stupid picnic forest. I believe that we can find everything there in any place we visit *I've started to hate this place more when I realized that (all) couples are going there for wedding photo-shoot and it became kinda habit and (uniformity of all couples makes me feel weird) I mean nothing special in their photos !! *If one day I'll have a photo-shoot in my special day it will definitely be in desert areas with very classical stuff around :D
Nice escape and not far from the city
Very nice park, picnic possible with bbq facilities, clean, playgrounds … just lovely 😻
Beautiful and well organized, 10 TL car entrance fees, only by credit or debit card
One of the nicest gardens in Gaziantep, good to take your food and go eat there, unlike other gardens grilling places are not available everywhere. Better take ready made food.

Nice little place where Atatürk stayed overnight while visiting Gaziantep in 1933. Pretty authentic and educational (I guess), I couldn't tell as I didn't find any English explanations 😕 I found the staff helpful and friendly, we even had fun over overcomming the language barrier.
Yes this place is very nice but the security was going to literally beat us The reason for this is my cousins They are students in Turkey They showed their card My older cousin couldn't find it He paid and passed Then she showed his student card and accepted it but she argued with me and literally fought with me Even though I showed my student document even students in Germany have student cards and said I should have one too she didn't let me in Then my cousin had a student card and let me in with the money she paid The inside is very nice, INCREDIBLE Then I wrote this to the municipality and told the women there what happened so they told the security The security walked over us at the exit and I went out and continued to argue with my mother and aunt People like that leave a bad impression
Nice place to learn about Antep's role in Turkey's War of Independence which followed immediately after World War One. There were not many artefacts pertaining to Ataturk himself. The museum is worth visiting simply because of the neighborhood - historic Armenian quarter - and the architecture nearby.
Great atmosphere. Well designed memorial place for great Atatürk.
Great work by Gaziantep. A perfect history teller by a monitor not only in Turkish but also in English.
(Translated by Google) A memorial museum displaying Atatürk's belongings. And let's not forget that Atatürk was registered with the Gaziantep population. The historic mansion, converted into a museum, has a wonderful atmosphere. After visiting the Atatürk Museum, be sure to visit the toy museum just across the street.

Historical stuff and really nice coffee:)
If you want to see the values of Turkey, you must definitely visit this historical customs house. First, sit there and taste the unique Turkish coffee, then wander around the artisan market, you will definitely want to buy something there. Of course, for a souvenir. The best souvenir gift is the national handicraft products of the place.
I loved this place too. Gaziantep is really a great place. Nice people too.
There is a kind of coffee they call it two colored coffee. It has two different taste in one cup. You should try it 👍

Going there is fantastic experience, when I visited Gazi Antep, I almost go to this mall everyday. There is a huge variety of branded shops where you can find unbelievable deals and offers. But what makes me happy the most is the food court upstairs, restaurants there are exceptional, cleaniness and quality is their main objective. I absolutely tried them all even McDonald's and all are excellent.
Nice place to spend time for shopping. A lot of brands, the food is good. There is a place for children. You can do some fun things like bowling and table tennis. Also there is a gym
SankoPark Mall is one of my favorite spots in Gaziantep. What makes it unique is its location—right in the middle of a beautiful garden area. It’s perfect for spending some relaxing time outdoors before or after shopping. The atmosphere is calm and refreshing, which adds a lot to the experience. Inside, the mall has a great selection of stores, dining options, and cafés. One of the highlights for me is the gym—it’s modern, well-equipped, and a nice bonus to have in a shopping center. Whether you're looking to shop, eat, or just take a walk in the garden, SankoPark has something for everyone.
Sanko Park is an enclosed shopping mall located in Gaziantep, Turkey. The largest enclosed mall in the region, construction of the US$160 million project began in 2007, and the centre opened in the spring of 2009. Because of its location in southeastern Turkey, it draws a significant number of shoppers from nearby Syria. The mall is approximately a two-hour drive from Aleppo, the largest city in northern Syria. With the elimination of visa requirements for travel between Turkey and Syria in September 2009, the center saw the number of Syrian shoppers rise from approximately 3,000 per month to 50,000 by early 2010.
Very good place for shopping, many brands, affordable price. Last floor for kids and restaurants
The most famous shopping mall in Gaziantep. There is a variety of brands but not the major ones. Now that it has Decathlon, it's much better.
Big, and organized And has a lot of shops Located in the City center abd near to Tramway line🚊
Good place for kids. Had food show, some good fresh products.
