Amazingly blue water, very nice beach. Plenty of parking, toilets available, and even options for renting kayaks
Beach is quite beautiful: white sand, black rocks, blue clear water. A rare feat in Norway. On a hot and sunny summer day it was quite a crowded place but still enough room for everyone - just parking the car was a bit of a hassle. What surprised me is that even on a day like this, no drinks, snacks or icecream are offered. Also no public shower to wash off the sea water.
Top 1 of the Gorgeous beaches in Norway! Looks like Greece , Spain, Maldives! The colour of the water OMG! Lazure💕🏝🌞🥰 and the Sand is pure White💕🥰
Beautiful, sandy beach with amazing colour of water.
Probably Norway’s best beach.
Beautiful long sandy beach with clear, clean water and gorgeous surroundings. This beach has been awarded the international Blue Flag certification. The only downside is the chilly Norwegian climate. In other words, bring a jacket and expect some wind. On a hot summer day, however this is a wonderful place to visit.
Beautiful beach worth to visit and enjoy
It's the best beach in Karmøy; white sand and crystal clear tourquise water. You can enjoy your day at beach with its public picnic tables and coloful beach chairs, its awsom views from the top of the hills, its trails to go for a walk.. It's a fantastic place; I love it!

We had a brief stop at the unification memorial on our tour of the city. The monument is prominent, and makes for a good photo stop. Came here on the hop on hop off bus there's a 10 minute photo stop so you don't get long unless you want to wait for the next bus. You could get on the coast pass and have a walk. The view is nice from here
Haraldshaugen is located in Haugesund, just beside the city center. It is a historical monument celebrating the unification of Norway as one kingdom. At the top, you will see a nice coastal view. There is also a campsite nearby and trails for walking.
Remember to take a walk to see the goats! The white horses are about a 10-15 min walk down a path up and down! Views are nice!
Very cool to see and some great walks along the water front. Highly recommend the walk as there’s lots of little treats to discover along the way.
Must visit if you love history. And make sure you take a walk on the coastal path, it’s gorgeous out there.
Norways National Monument. Free to visit. Signifying the unification of Norway. The coastal walk along here is very picturesque with lots of sea craft coming and going, recommend going up to the rising tides sculpture just up the coast from here also.
Great site. Long way from thr city centre. Around 1 hour each way but walking on main roads.
The final resting place of Norways first Viking King Harald Hårfagre / Harald Fairhair. 🤴 It says in the Norse books, that he was the one who joined whole of Norway to 1 kingdom in 852 after killing all of the small Viking kings and ruled for 70 years.

Nice trail around the lake with beautiful views along the way. The trail is fairly rocky and narrow in some spots. But it was quiet and peaceful. I passed only a handful of people on the trail coming from the opposite direction. And, best of all, you can take the city bus right to it for only a few dollars equivalent.
Eivindsvannet Lake in Djupadalen, a recreation area, is so peaceful and beautiful. It is located near the centre of Haugesund, Norway. There are many trails including one around the lake. There is a big car park just across the road.
Lovely place. Full of snow. Fantastic views. One of many beautiful place around Haugesund. A beautiful lake here as well. Have a good size, free car park as well. In the summer, a great place for barbeque.
Very good place for easy walk
Beautiful nature walks and the scenery was gorgeous. Many forest trails to choose from. Good for families and friends. Also trails for biking and near the lake there was tiny sand areas which are idyllic for the summer.
Great walking trails and beautiful lake. Has public toilets and public barbeques (bring your own coal). Small slide for children. Great for a swim on sunny summer days.
Beautiful scenery! We took the walk up to orkja summit and it was lovely. Lots of picnic benches on the lake edge for our picnic on the way back.
Amazing its so butiful

Staff was lovely, very welcoming and attentive. Free wifi which was great and comfy seats. Tania was so helpful, she helped me find a camera shop :)
The staff was extremely helpful answering tons of my questions. The young gentleman was very informative and knowledgeable. Not only you can get lots of recommendations, also the background knowledge and some trivia regarding Haugesund. Thank you!
Right in the centre of town on the main shopping street is the Centre. Staff were friendly with lots of information available. Centre provides free wifi & maps. Also has various souvenirs & clothes available for purchase.
Good tips for spending the day in Haugesund. Recommended route to the white horses along the coastal path. We needed help finding the interesting places in Haugesund.
This place also serves as a souvenir shop. They are happy to provide travelers with all the information they need.
Lots of information about Haugesund including maps. They had an area where the children and adults could dress up as vikings.
Helpful staff, comfy seats, free WiFi
Businesses open late and close early. Don't expect to plan anything after 4pm. Building and storefronts are dirty and dilapidated. Businesses should be open according to Google, the lights are on but the door is locked and not a person in sight. Orr the restaurant door is open but not an employee in sight.

Busy little church. Free to visit. It has some stunning stained glass. And is just a 13 minute walk from the Cruise terminal.
A beautiful and peaceful church in the heart of Haugesund. Vår Frelsers kirke is a lovely example of traditional Norwegian architecture, with its red brick facade and striking interior details. Whether you're attending a service, enjoying a concert, or just stopping in for a quiet moment, the atmosphere is warm and welcoming. The stained glass and woodwork inside are truly worth seeing. A calming spot that adds so much charm to the town.
Certainly worth visiting if you’re in Haugesund and are in the vicinity. The chimes are amazing
Beautiful church - simple and charming. Plenty of merry tunes being played on the carillon bells when I left.
Came here in early June on a cruise to Norwegian fjords. Only saw from outside, it was not opened.
Beautiful clean quiet church in a gothic style. We’ll appointed wood and brick. Built in 1901 according to the plaque.
Lovely little church. Open on a Thursday when we went. (June 2023) A nice lady there says its usually open in Summer months.
Wonderful church, with some pleasant organ music.

Really liked it here. Plenty to look at and learn. Plan some time so you can read about the exhibits. Worth borrowing the book on reception as a guide. Otherwise make sure you have a translate app on your phone. It's worth it. Reccomended.
A very interesting private collection of WWII memorabilia based around the German occupation of Norway. Worth a visit if you have a couple of hours to spare.
Impressive and memorable! I’ve never seen a tank this close before – the size, the detail, the history behind it… everything makes it a must-see. A powerful experience, even if you’re not a military enthusiast.
A great museum full of military equipment and uniforms, with scenes showing German occupation of Norway.
Fabulous place do not miss it has 3 floors my favourite was the top floor all exhibitions are fascinating and well worth the small entrance fee. Staff are welcoming there is a lift (elevator) to get you up to all floors for accessibility issues .
Really good exibition the English quide booked helped but so much info in Norwegian slowed it down but the equipment looked genuine and a lot of it.
If you already know quite a bit about WWII then this collection will be worth seeing. The museum does not do a thorough job explaining WWII, but it does have an impressive collection of artifacts that gives you an idea of Norway's perspective on the war. There is an exhibit pamphlet that allows you to read about the items that are displayed, and it can be a lot of reading if you want to read everything.
Fantastic museum , Lots of items on showcase here , Guide book has numbers that correlate to the exhibits so you can see what things are in english ( and I'm sure they have it in other languages also) , You can also purchase the guide book for 50 nok to support the museum , There is a small cafe in the entrance that sells drinks and other merchandise

Hidden gem of a museum great insights into early Norwegian family life. Excellent guide lovely setting great value also gets you into art museum. However I have s burning question can anyone tell me who the artist is who painted the very large painting behind reception of women working ?
Very good small Museum, very lovely staff that speak good English. They have small cafe area with ready brewed coffee in a thermos flask. Cold drinks from the fridge and a seating area. As we walked in I enquired was there a Viking ship inside as we had thought but we were told unfortunately not. So we decided not to enter the museum hall. Never the less a pleasant pit stop on our travels from the port, this is just over the bridge close to the statue of Kind Harald Fair Hair.
Visited on Monday and had an amazing time, lovely staff and great history. Would definitely recommend the guided tour. Impeccable value for money.
The girls who gave the viewing of the houses were amazing. We got to literally go back in time over 200 years. The kids loved it too. Lots to do for them. They even had an art center. Where the kids could make boats 🚢 very cheep too only 14 euro for a family
We really enjoyed this. Madeline did a guided tour at midday, which was funny and informative. It really brought the experience to life. Highly recommended.
It's an interesting collection of buildings, mostly from the 1800s. We mainly visited since admission to the Arqebus war museum includes admission here.
Small museum but very interesting and good tour learning about the history. Approximately £5 for an adult

Fantastic little museum, so interesting & the guy on reception was really nice
It’s free and has nice info not a lot of English translation though
Excellent displays with lots of local history, just a shame some of it is not translated to english. (But maybe thats just our own fault for never wanting to learn other languages!)
A pleasant surprise. Very friendly staff. Lots of tools etc used on farms. I loved the painted wooden furniture displays and woven rugs. A silent film of photos of 19th and early 20th century Haugesund was playing on a loop and really gave an atmospheric and evocative impression of how hard life must have been.
Very nice staff, great place, but some descriptions are not translated to english
Small but packed with exhibits and a warm welcome too. Definitely worth a visit.
Fun and very informative. Staff was very helpful as well.
Loved the fishing and farming exhibits. Welcoming staff who speak excellent English :)

Located by Lake Skeisvatnet and within walking distance of the center of Haugesund lies a gem of a festival area that has lain fallow since the legendary Vise - and the Lyric Festival gathered an incredible 18,000 people here in 1972. The festival was held for the first time in August 2017, as a one-day music festival for a festival-hungry local population. Despite a Westland cloudburst of epic proportions, the crowd came, setting the stage for an extended festival in 2018 - three days of fantastic artists, good food and plenty of drink. Both the rain and the audience showed up, but this time the audience was in the majority, demonstrating that life was made for The Festival in Vangen. Haraldsvang Nature Park The area is bounded in the north by Skeisvoldsveien (county road), in the east by Arkavatnet, in the west by Skeisvatnet and in the south by Haraldshallen/Haraldsvang school. The area consists of many hiking trails, varied vegetation with many large trees, a swimming area with a diving tower, a cafe, a party area and a playground. Haraldsvang nature park is a central part of the green structure in Haugesund. With a short distance to residential areas, the area can be reached quickly and easily. I'm a little biased as my first Master license was received at this well operated shopping center organization. Wide range of store offerings that will cover for most shopping needs including grocery stores; restaurants. Many offerings in personal beauty treatments stands out. It's a wonderful start on your journey to experience Karmøy Island. The home of the Viking Kings.
In Oasen there are many nice shops, really high standard all of them. You are going to find shoes shops, clothing, farmacy, kitchen stuff, home-decorations , hair salon, the liquor shop, a very nice supermarket with fresh food and bread and even salad bar. The parking place is very large. There are a few places to have lunch or a coffee and available restrooms. The shopping centre is situated close to the famous Karmøy bridge.
Really nice mall with a good variety of stores and restaurants.
I live pretty close to oasen and i go there everytime! It is fun for a casual shopping experience with friends or families! Even going there alone! I recommend going to h&m and dolly dimples! Theres even mcdonalds right next to it! 10/10
Really nice shopping mall. It's alot of store inside. You will enjoy your time.
A mid sized shopping centre with a big parking lot, wheelchair accessible and most shops one might need. It got a Vinmonopol as well as a McDonalds located outside the shopping centre. Oasen is easily accessible by bus with busses departing every five minuts or so from the bussstation outside the parking lot.
What a fantastic shopping mall. It has certainly grown since I was here last. Everything you need under one roof.

Great little gallery full of Norwegian art.
Not much to see!! Didn’t stay long to give it much of a review . There are toilets, lovely park opposite. You can buy refreshments and a seating area
A bit of a trek from the cruise terminal (shuttles available do reduce the distance), but what an interesting place. We were lucky to catch the Norwegian traditional clothing exhibition which was most interesting. Coffee available.
A bit mad... in a weirdly hypnotic way. You can visit the local museum in town (which is surprisingly interesting with staff speaking perfect English and a coffee shop) and this on the same ticket. 👍
A bit disappointing. Not enough exhibitors for a large space. Staff very friendly.
Art lover? Here you can have some varities.
Not much to see. Much of the gallery space was closed whilst awaiting a new exhibition but we were still charged 70 Kr. each. Disappointing.
