Haraldshaugen is located in Haugesund, just beside the city center. It is a historical monument celebrating the unification of Norway as one kingdom. At the top, you will see a nice coastal view. There is also a campsite nearby and trails for walking.

Remember to take a walk to see the goats! The white horses are about a 10-15 min walk down a path up and down! Views are nice!

Very cool to see and some great walks along the water front. Highly recommend the walk as there’s lots of little treats to discover along the way.

Must visit if you love history. And make sure you take a walk on the coastal path, it’s gorgeous out there.

Norways National Monument. Free to visit. Signifying the unification of Norway. The coastal walk along here is very picturesque with lots of sea craft coming and going, recommend going up to the rising tides sculpture just up the coast from here also.

The final resting place of Norways first Viking King Harald Hårfagre / Harald Fairhair. 🤴 It says in the Norse books, that he was the one who joined whole of Norway to 1 kingdom in 852 after killing all of the small Viking kings and ruled for 70 years.

A fantastic campsite with excellent amenities and very very clean. Reception staff (Adrian) very friendly and helpful. 30 minutes walk into Haugusund Town Centre, which is a must. Norways National Monument is next to the site and a beautiful coastal walk that leads you to The Rising Tide Sculptures is against the campsite via a good safe path.

What a lovely, beautiful campsite! I absolutely loved everything on this place. Very nice welcome, reasonable price where everything was already included. Had a nice quite spot for my tent apart from the caravans. There is a nice cooking space and a lovely dining area/tv room to sit in. Although the campsite was quite full, everyone was calm and quite and respectful. Sunset was incredible! I would definitely come here again!

Easy check-in, a very accommodating team. There is a clean little laundry room and a small kitchen. At the end of the campsite their is a cute little glass box with two tables to enjoy the ocean view and sheep. There is a large community room to eat, play games or meet other friendly campers. We loved the spot and we would definitely stay here again!

Receptionist was nice and welcoming and gave us recommendations for a spot to park our vehicle since it was quite windy on the night we stayed. Slightly expensive and showers included. Toilet and showers were extremely clean with staff cleaning it frequently

This camping is an example for all campings. Perfect conditions, perfect spot. No fixed amount for electricity, you pay what you use. The coastal path with amazing views is a delight.

Very friendly people at the reception, helpful and accommodating. Nice plots, as a solo traveller on a motorbike I got a nice little spot on a small hill, overlooking the rest of the campsite and onto the sea. Some of the cleanest facilities I have ever experienced on a campsite. Grocery shopping can be done within walking distance.

It's okay, a couple of photos, and you are essentially done. Decent walk from the ship though, unless you take the sightseeing bus, which drops you off/picks you up adjacent to the small park and school approx 100 yards away.

A striking tribute to Norway's first king! The King Harald Fairhair statue stands proudly overlooking the sea, and you can really feel the sense of history in the air. It's a peaceful and scenic spot, with great views and a lovely surrounding park. There’s also some informative signage nearby if you want to learn more about Harald Fairhair and his role in uniting Norway. Well worth a visit if you're in Haugesund—both for the photo op and the quiet moment of reflection.

A pleasant walk from the port to this location. Unfortunately, there's only one bridge crossing from where the cruise ship docks, and that bridge is a little mountain to climb! It's worth the walk, though, as it's a lovely location with great views.

Harald Fairhair statue, a monument dedicated to the first King of Norway. The statue itself is a striking piece of art, capturing the grandeur and legacy of Harald Fairhair. It stands tall and majestic, offering a fitting tribute to a figure of such historical importance. It is 20 minutes walking distance from the national monument, and both should be visited. I was surprised to see that there were no plaques or information boards near the statue, so I looked up the history myself.

A beautiful and peaceful church in the heart of Haugesund. Vår Frelsers kirke is a lovely example of traditional Norwegian architecture, with its red brick facade and striking interior details. Whether you're attending a service, enjoying a concert, or just stopping in for a quiet moment, the atmosphere is warm and welcoming. The stained glass and woodwork inside are truly worth seeing. A calming spot that adds so much charm to the town.

Came here in early June on a cruise to Norwegian fjords. Only saw from outside, it was not opened.

Beautiful clean quiet church in a gothic style. We’ll appointed wood and brick. Built in 1901 according to the plaque.

Lovely little church. Open on a Thursday when we went. (June 2023) A nice lady there says its usually open in Summer months.

Statue of the famed blonde bombshell via the marina. It is said to be "a tribute to her Norwegian heritage, as her father, a baker, is believed to have emigrated from the area to the USA" according to the web.

You may wonder why? Why is there a statue of Marilyn Monroe in the middle of Norway? Well, her Dad was a baker in the town and then immigrated to America, and subsequently fathered Norma. A nice little tribute

This is a lovely place to visit when you are in Haugaund. I visited a few times now and feel I have to touch her foot and make a wish. It's a beautiful place with lovely views. If you are in town I highly recommend visiting Marilyn and saying hello. Fun fact it is believed that her father was from this town.

Basic statue on the shoreline between a hotel & construction site, is not a glamorous location. The statue itself is OK, even though any link Marilyn had with Haugesund is tenuous at best & it seems likely erroneous. Even so it remains on the tourist sites list.

Eivindsvannet Lake in Djupadalen, a recreation area, is so peaceful and beautiful. It is located near the centre of Haugesund, Norway. There are many trails including one around the lake. There is a big car park just across the road.

Lovely place. Full of snow. Fantastic views. One of many beautiful place around Haugesund. A beautiful lake here as well. Have a good size, free car park as well. In the summer, a great place for barbeque.

Very good place for easy walk

Beautiful nature walks and the scenery was gorgeous. Many forest trails to choose from. Good for families and friends. Also trails for biking and near the lake there was tiny sand areas which are idyllic for the summer.

Great walking trails and beautiful lake. Has public toilets and public barbeques (bring your own coal). Small slide for children. Great for a swim on sunny summer days.

Beautiful scenery! We took the walk up to orkja summit and it was lovely. Lots of picnic benches on the lake edge for our picnic on the way back.

Oxe Burger has a special place in our hearts. Ever since we visited this restaurant during our Scandinavian road trip in 2022, we couldn't stop talking about how good the burger tasted and how tender the meat was. It was just as perfect today! The burger (oxe burger) was well baked and the taste was absolutely amazing. Also, the chips on the side were very tasty as well. The restaurant itself is absolutely stunning and the staff is very friendly and they speak English well. Would definitely recommend and we'll definitely visit Oxe Burger again during our next trips!

Top burger place, we discovered this pearl just over 2 years ago on our travels and it was the best burger we have ever tasted! Locally sourced meat is the key here, we returned to this place as our only planned stop in our otherwise unplanned holiday this year. Again the burger was perfect and we learned our lesson; eat it while its hot!

Amazing burger. Juicy and tasty. Totally worth the visit for a burger lover! The service was a bit bad. We got one wrong burger, asked for ketchup and it got forgotten, and it took forever to make milkshakes. We also didn't get any information when they used a lot of time to make the milkshakes, so we thought they had forgotten it. The restaurant was full and they were few cooks so have that in mind if visiting on a busy time.

This Cafe is absolutely incredible. First of all the owner is incredibly sweet and joyfull and very welcoming. Second of all the cakes are mind blowing !!! I had carrot cake which was the best carrot cake I ever had ! And a cookie to go which was delicious. I wish I could taste all the goodies there but we were there just for one day. And to top it off the Cafe and the restroom was impeccably clean. I loved every second of the time I spent there❤️keep up the good work 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Totally understand that employees don’t want to encourage freeloaders who wreck the facilities and don’t order anything, but there is a way to interact with paying customers without being downright rude. Really really unpleasant interaction here unfortunately :( Came inside with my family hoping to sit down and order some snacks and drinks after a long walk. Ordered and paid for a drink immediately before even going in to sit down as a show of good faith, and asked to quickly use the bathroom on the way to the outside seating area. The woman unlocking the bathroom immediately became very cagey and rude about only 1 person using the bathroom per purchase, and wouldn’t let up even to allow a young child (10 years old) to use the bathroom alongside me - despite the fact we openly said and signalled that we intended to stay and order more!! Just super rude and unfriendly unfortunately, we left and didn’t wish to ‘inconvenience’ the cafe by using their facilities (again, despite literally ordering and paying for stuff!).

To mix a quiet and cozy environment with good coffe and sweets is a skill Vanias masters very well.

Nice dinner last 29th of May, I had the BBQ ribs, food was ok, and very good service. Indeed, the waiter was really kind and professional

Didn't really like it. I ordered a steak with big horn potatoes which turned out some kind of chips. I asked the waiter to change it and he said that it's gonna cost extra. Anyway I ordered a baked potato which also turned out quite lame to my standards. Steak was supposed to be medium cooked which was medium rare. Altogether it wasn't a good experience.

It was my first (and last time) eating there. It was a really disappointing experience- both service and quality of food. The onion rings looked like they were pulled out of a frozen bag from a store and somehow the dipping sauce it came with was dry?? My steak was chewy and dry. The baked potato was just a potato in aluminium. There was nothing special about this that I would have paid 670kr for. Not to mention the comment the waiter made when he was collecting our plates to my friend who couldn't finish her meal. Something along the lines of finishing her plate and world hunger or something. WEIRD.
