A Magical Night in History My family and I had the incredible opportunity to spend a night in the State Suite at Appleby Castle, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by the warm hospitality - meeting the owner personally made our stay feel even more special and welcoming. The castle itself is absolutely stunning and impeccably maintained. Staying in the State Suite felt like stepping back in time, yet with all the modern comforts needed for a comfortable night’s rest. The historical atmosphere was perfectly preserved, giving our children an amazing chance to experience living history firsthand. What made the experience even more memorable was exploring the castle grounds and wandering through the charming village nearby. The kids were fascinated by every corner, and as parents, we loved watching them discover and engage with the rich history surrounding us. The attention to detail in maintaining both the castle and the rooms is evident throughout. It’s clear that great care is taken to preserve this magnificent piece of history while ensuring guests have a wonderful stay. We’re incredibly grateful to the owner for this unique experience. Thank you ☺️
We had a magically stay for 2-nights. Lovely team running the castle - friendly, helpful, and caring for the property they run. Breakfast and dinner were very enjoyable - worth a vist for dinner alone, with live music. The history of the castle is clear, great to walk down the corridors and up the stairs. History all around. The keep was great to visit and the view is worth it up top. Good clear history of the castle available to learn about in the keep. The room - the bedroom was lovely and had everything. No tv, but not needed. The bathroom wasn't great. It let down the experience. It felt like it could have some with some maintenance. Shower gels were empty. No housekeeping but we only stayed two-nights so not too bothered. Would stay again but not more than 2-nights. For history loves - just go for it and book!
Rude!!! Walking up to the castle and noticed the price list to go.in the grounds but no one in sight, walked further up into castle grounds to try and find someone, was greated with someone shouting at us asking if we had ticket, iam guessing the man was the owner he was rude and we were made to fell like we shouldn't be there, he then told us to walk into the tower to pay for admission but due to his shouting and rude manner we decided to leve, he escorted us out of the gate. Very odd behaviour and definitely wouldn't recommend keep well away as clearly your not welcome!
I visited Appleby Castle to see the tower grounds and tearooms. On arrival at the gate there was no one on duty at the cabin to pay. Only a QR code to pay we did this and were charged £10 each. Walking up into the Castle area it was totally devoid of any staff. We went to the tower to gain access everything was locked. We searched around and couldn't see any signage or anyone to ask for help. After 40mins we saw someone who we asked and told him we had paid our £10. He asked for our proof and openness the tower, he just sent us in no real explanation other than be careful the steps are steep. We noticed as we went around the exhibition there were signs for an audio tour something we were not offered. The exhibition was good and the views were great. When we came down we wanted to enjoy the tearoom as advertised when we booked online. However yet again no signage, no staff when we tried the hotel reception to ask the doors were locked. A very very disappointing venue to visit.
We really enjoyed our stay in the Russell room last night. What an amazing place so historic and beautiful. Thank you for making us so welcome even though we are pain in the arse vegans you gave us a lovely evening meal and breakfast. The pianist at dinner was a wonderful experience really special thank uou. I would definitely recommend a visit and we will come again. Best wishes Robert and Jacqueline
Great location and building, but the cottage was very very run down and not very clean. The place was absolutely full of spiders, at least 20 in the front room alone which was terrifying. The sound on the TV didn’t work, no proper pans to cook with and we were kept up all night by the noisy cottage next door. I wouldn’t stay again, shame for such a beautiful building!
We visited today as we love historical sites, the website looked like it was perfect for us to take our little one along for the trip, showed us a lovely play area and walk, we met some friends and prebooked online the night before, my friend however didn't so tried to do it via the qr code, it kept declining. The play area kept the 3 year old busy for 10 mins The website stated parking was £5 for the day but on another section stated it was free. If you enjoy castles it's not bad for an hours wandering, it is either undergoing some changes or had a rough summer as it had some areas that weren't even lit up or were empty Once we exited the Norman castle we thought we would be able to use some facilities in the reception and we were also looking for a spot of lunch somewhere, we were greeted by a lady at the door, who informed us we had to go into the town as they had a shoot on so no toilets were available and proceeded to lock the door. The gentleman that greeted us in his car who I can only assume is the owner?? Was nice and friendly he told us how to enter the castle as there wasn't anyone around otherwise to guide. Looked beautiful on the website, and the views were amazing but not worth the fee really Won't be returning
Wish I could give a good review. We attempted to visit the castle during the traveller gathering, were denied entry and not treated with hospitality by the caretaker. I hope with the renovations and recent opening that the decorum has changed. We will not be travelling here again on our travels from america.

The advice, information, and assistance provided here goes way above what can be expected of a TiC. Such helpful and lovely people are so rare.
Very knowledgeable and very helpful.
The gift shop is full of amazing stuff and the staff are friendly and helpful 👍
LOVE Appleby in Westmoreland ! We Came back here after 34 years ! Memories ! Beautiful place !! Thank you for maintaining it !
Brilliant. My wife and I organised a weekend reunion in the nearby Tufton Arms Hotel and the TIC were very helpful. Lovely friendly staff who were a mine of information and had some great suggestions. Great range of leaflets, books and information on the surrounding area and gifts and souvenirs.
Lovely friendly caring lady at the information centre. Came out of her way to make sure we caught the local bus in Appleby. (The bus did arrive and we got to Brough). Thank you.
Conveniently located in the historic Moot Hall right in the middle of the main street. The two ladies were very friendly and knowledgeable and gave me all the information I needed to enjoy my short visit to Appleby. Plenty of leaflets about local events and places of interest, plus a little gallery with some nice pottery, glassware, scarves and other gifts/souvenirs.
Alison, in the TIC, is the most charismatic and helpful person you could ever wish to meet 😊 There were 3 of us, all visiting Appleby because our name is Appleby, and she couldn't have been more helpful. She made our trip very special. There's lots of information to be had about Eden Valley and surrounding areas, trips, days out etc. Lots of gifts and souvenirs on sale too. The little building that houses the TIC, Moot Hall, is also a very ancient building and worth a visit. If you're lucky and the Mayor of Appleby is there, you can sometimes get a guided visit of Moot Hall if your name's Appleby, and you also get to sign the Visitors' Book along with Applebys from all over the world. Thank you Alison 😍

The Courtyard Gallery is down a lovely little passageway beautifully painted. There is a little secret garden courtyard to sit and enjoy the lovely cakes and coffee they are served. You can also eat in the gallery and admire the artworks and books for sale.
Popped in for a look around and got some cards and prints. Spotted something I wanted to get for my partners birthday but she was with me at the time. I emailed the gallery and Andrew very kindly helped me identify what I was after and sent it to me first class. Really lovely place, with brilliant staff!
Great shop and super friendly, helpful owner. We left with some lovely art. Highly recommend you check this gallery out. Great looking cafe, good prices and great service. 10/10.
Gorgeous little gallery and cafe in the heart of Appleby. Lots of affordable, original works by local artists, plus books, cards and more. Definitely worth a visit!
Sadly it’s the worst coffee we have ever had. Could not even drink it all. In hindsight should have complained on the day but the guy serving was very rude regarding our dogs, and just wanted to make a quick exit.
Make sure to visit the Gallery if you're ever in Appleby! There's a great selection of locally produced art and gifts available, as well as a brilliant spot for tea/coffee and a slice of cake. They stock gluten free cake too so that's always a bonus! Andrew is super helpful and can also do some digging into your family tree if you'd like! Will definitely be returning. Plenty of parking on the road outside, or a good selection of car parks a short walk away. There is a short flight of stairs to get in.
The man serving in the shop wasn't very friendly. While we were there, my husband had to take a call from the cancer clinic at our hospital. Whoever was serving wasn't happy about us taking the call on the balcony of the cafe/shop despite the fact that there was nobody else there. He said we would have to move if somebody wanted to sit there for coffee. It just didn't feel nice being there. It's a beautiful little place though, probably delightful for art lovers!
What an absolute fine, just go through the passage into a small courtyard. Up the outdoor stairs to the small cafe andgallery/shop. Best and cheapest tea we purchased £1.90, presented in beautiful teapots etc. Home baking was spot on. Dog friendly. Please note they do not appear to have toilet facilities.

Just visited H&H this weekend for a couple of nights on our way home from Glasgow. Great, great little pub. Staff and I presume the landlady so friendly, atmosphere was fantastic. As for the locals, like been in my local, funny friendly people that were having a drink and making us laugh. Thank you for having such a great boozer, I’ll be back for more!
We were in Appleby on a coach trip so couldn't spend too long in a pub. I like good cask beers and it didn't look great. The lady behind the bar put a good one on for me specially and made us feel so welcome. Wish all pubs could be so friendly and welcoming. Well done, this pub is the best in Appleby. John and Theresa.
A lovely, friendly little pub in which the excellent, welcoming staff really know how to keep and serve cask-conditioned ale.
Had the steak pie 🥧 chips & veg. It was delicious, loads of steak in the homemade pie & fresh veg (not frozen). Will definitely be returning on my next visit to Cumbria. The lady on the bar was lovely too. 10 out of 10. Thank-you.
Lovely little local pub, fabulous service, wonderful seats in the sunshine. Definitely worthwhile stopping for a beer or 3 or maybe 4 😉. Not many like this about these days.
Owner's sister behind the bar - was very friendly and helpful. Had a nice drink here
Lovely local pub with friendly people.
Didn’t eat but everyone was SO friendly and welcoming!

Absolutely loved this hotel. We were in a garden room which had patio furniture outside. Room comfortable, very clean and spacious. Shower was excellent with lovely fluffy towels. Food was delicious. Had the restaurant menu on 1st night and Bistro menu on 2nd night. The spa was amazing, we had it included in the package we had. Staff were friendly and helpful. The lady who checked us in and out was brilliant and gave us a few tips for travelling around. We will definitely return. Only down side I think the room would benefit from a small fridge. Bottle of water in room but it was warm because of the better weather.
Gorgeous views and lovely breakfast, we enjoyed our stay very much as the breakfast was lovely both mornings and had a few nice things on the menu I tried the full English and the pancakes, both were definitely something I’d get again. The side bar for pastries and breakfast cereals had a nice choice too. The last morning we ordered a coffee and the staff member had forgotten to bring it to table but when I mentioned it she was so lovely and brought it over and included no charge as it was a mistake, I really appreciated that. The room we had was at the top of the hotel and the rooms were VERY quiet, you could even hear the people walking and talking through the corridor, bathroom was lovely as-well with a heater for the towels. Excuse the pillows on the bed in the bedroom picture as I placed them all back before we left the room so that the staff could find them all again lol. Brilliant stay overall
Set in gorgeous surroundings, I couldn’t have asked for a better place to wake up for my birthday. Check in was by the lovely Vandra. She was very helpful and showed us around the hotel once we were checked in. We were staying in room 3, which was beautiful, spacious and had a nice sofa seating area. There was also a nice big jacuzzi bath in our room too. The spa facilities are amazing, with a huge heated swimming pool with inbuilt hot tub features. There was a lovely drinks menu for whilst you are relaxing there. After leaving the spa, we headed down for dinner. It was outstanding. We were told by Shane who served us that it was a brand new menu. There was a nice variety of vegetarian options to choose from too, which was a bonus. We had a settled night sleep in a large comfy bed and then headed down for breakfast. Again, the food was amazing and the staff were lovely and friendly.
Great country house hotel with spa facilities. We had excellent service and great food throughout our stay. The bedroom was clean and functional but needed bringing up to date. Would happily visit again.
This cannot be a 4-star hotel. I think the majority of the disappointment attached to our stay is due to the price that they charge for a very sub par experience. The bed we had was very uncomfortable, so I’ve walked away with an injury to my neck. The service was confusing, as if it was all of the staffs first day working there. The food also made me sick and tasted of dish washing liquid. It’s even in the odd things - like they say oh here’s a game room with a pool table but the cues are broken?? We went to the spa in the morning and half of the stuff wasn’t functioning and they’d left a used wine glass out from the night before which didn’t exactly scream relaxation. It just seems people must really not enjoy working here. Every other guest we spoke to was having a similiar experience which just meant a lot of shared laughs at the oddity of the place which actually I guess made it kinda fun. But yeah, everything seems to be falling apart. The cost is not worth it, that is the key thing.
Stayed here for our anniversary and was not disappointed.Although the weather was atrocious we still enjoyed our 2 hour spa even venturing outside to the hot tubs.Every member of staff was so helpful and could not have been more attentive. The rooms were delightful and we never heard a thing for our stay. Views the next morning were stunning and the breakfast didn’t disappoint. When you have happy staff you have happy clientele ,even the chef thanked everyone on his way out such a nice touch .Cant wait to return again.
I have given Appleby manor 3 stars for a reason. My son arranged a two night mid week break as a Birthday present. I telephoned the hotel in advance and explained my mobility issues and asked if I may have a ground floor room. I arranged the spa separately. On arrival, the receptionist appeared to have little patience, appeared very abrupt and on showing us to our room, rushed off down a labyrinth of corridors, pointing in various directions, the amenities. We were taken outside pointed to a row of rooms along a stoned court yard. At no point were we offered help with our bags and had to find the room, at the end of the row of rooms. Our room was a box, with about 18 inches around the bed. Bathroom was old with only cold water running from the shower. View of the kitchen window and domestic rooms from the window. We were told to change in the room before going to the spa as the spa did not have enough room. Walking across a cobbled court yard in swimwear and robe!! At the spa we were offered a hand towel, told as we were hotel residents, we were not allowed a larger towel. We did manage to be given two hand towels! Plenty of room in the dressing room to change, not as initially informed. We had to request a move from number 23 as we had an unwelcome visitor that night. I will not say what, I will say , the room was thoroughly cleaned. As reported by the cleaner, whom we overhead at reception, when we arrived back from a trip to Penrith. The room we were given room 44, was a classic room, as shown in the hotel online information. Room 23 in my opinion, was not even worthy of a two star hotel. Please check your bill on leaving, ours had bar bills, dinner entries which were not ours. We declined to pay the service charge.
Absolutely fabulous! Cannot recommend this hotel highly enough. When we arrived we were made to feel so welcome and nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff. We had a garden room, which was very spacious, with a large wardrobe and plenty of storage space, a large bathroom with walk in shower and a lovely terrace with garden furniture. We didn’t use the spa but had dinner from the a la carte and bistro menus and all the food was absolutely delicious! The views from the terrace were amazing!

I live here at St.Anne"s, just love it. So happy x
Beautiful - well kept and flowers in abundance with the chapel open for you to see and take pictures
It was well worth the walk to the top of Appleby's steep main street to see these delightful 17th century almshouses enclosing a cobbled courtyard. The cottages are so neat and beautifully kept by their current residents and there's a profusion of lovely flowers. The quiet little chapel was open, was welcome to go inside and take a look.
Whenever I go to Appleby I always pop in through the gates to view the almshouses. They are historic and incredibly peaceful and remind me of the almshouses in Bruges. There is a calm quiet peace to be found in the little chapel in the corner which is lovely and often open. Then walk across the courtyard and see the beautiful garden and orchard through the gates.
I love this place. It has a tiny chapel, lovely gardens and borders and we met a very friendly resident. Well worth stopping for.
So interesting to see this ancient place, visit the gardens and the Chapel in the corner. We were made very welcome.
Beautiful and quiet.. the gardens are lovely... lots of history...

We had a fantastic stay here! Beautiful location, next to a waterfall.. Very cosy converted old mill with all the modern features. Great views - we even saw a red squirrel. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. Freebies like homemade bread and jam a nice touch as well!
This place is amazing to stay, so peaceful. Wild life is fantastic including the red squirrels. Leaving thoroughly relaxed 😌
Fabulous cottage very high standard Fabulous views perfect in every way would highly recommend we stayed in the mill right next to the waterfall Fabulous
Did not stay at the cottages just visited the falls as was passing. It was a rainy day but the falls were nice, only parking for two cars and you would be hard pushed to spend more than a few minutes there. Worth a look if you are passing.
Fantastic tranquil location. You need proper footwear for the walk. Muddy and ford very slippery. Great wildlife. Cafe closed for good a while back. Real shame. Beautiful wildlife oh so peaceful.
Lovely little setting with great views from the footbridge of the waterfall and Mill. Nice river walk too. If your lucky you might see red squirrels
What an absolutly beautiful place! Few downsides are it's all private if you wanted to get close and there is no where to park so you'll have to walk to get there and it's quite out of the way unless you're staying close by in the little village... the people I encounter of the time I went where very rude but if you are there for the waterfall it's absolutly stunning and well worth it!
Beautiful view. We visited after last week's storms so the was a good flow of water.

Brilliant walk. Long steady climb, then walking along the edge of the valley to the end. Fantastic views.
Been wanting to walk this route for over 2 years with my 3 mates, finally we walked it and boy was it worth the wait I’d highly recommend you do this walk, 9.66miles for the car park 10/10
High cup nick was a super day out for us. We parked in dufton and walked from there. We went through all weathers: sun rain and wind. The climb was quite steep in parts and we had three small breaks on the way up. We didn't quite make it to the end because it seemed a bit too steep and rocky for our mad dog. We still had wonderful views from the top. It took us about 3 hours up and 1,5 back down. (We are not professional hikers and we're getting on a bit). We met a few people on the way but not many so it was a very peaceful walk. I can highly recommend it.
Great easy circular 4 hour hike here from Dufton car park with some amazing views. Few boggy places and temperamental weather but safe paths as long as dont go right to the edge if windy or wet.
Absolutely stunning place to walk. We headed over to High Cup Nick. Headed up the middle, bit of a slog over wet moorland, then a great scramble over boulders to the top. Amazing views from the top. Fantastic scenery all day. We added Murton Pike onto the walk too. Long walk but worth it.
Always a stunner, no matter the time of year. The best view of the Lake District is from the Pennines!
Absolutely fantastic views. Quite a walk to get there. We parked in Dufton but you can knock a couple of miles off by parking at the end of the lane instead
Had a lovely hike during Easter weekend with a gorgeous weather. Scenery was amazing on the way and mesmerising views in front of you when close to the valley. Lovely small streams and waterfalls along the way with rocky paths, would recommend comfortable footwear and warm cloths as it might get colder closer to the valley. We parked the car at public car park but limited spaces but can park along the road as well. Highly recommended for a great stroll with a lovely views of Yorkshire dales.

Dined tonight (Sunday) at 1630. We walked in to a friendly, warm welcome and a good drinks selection. Food was superb and this was complemented by a live singer. We all had starters and mains, and everything was homemade, fresh and piping hot! Fantastic restaurant and venue!
Arrived on Sunday on spec to have lunch, I had the fish pie and family had the Sunday lunch, real ale was lovely and the food was top notch, dogs loved it too, highly recommend, thanks again 😀
Lovely cosy pub in a quiet lane, with accommodation rooms. Stayed for one night and had an evening meal, breakfast and Sunday lunch there. Menu surprisingly varied and we were tempted before even getting there, so booked all meals straight away. Staff were all lovely and helpful, smiling, made us welcome and valued customers. A big bonus to us was the possibility to have an early breakfast on the Sunday as we had an early start - we usually have to miss out at other places who don't serve breakfast until later in the morning at weekends. Here in the restaurant at 7.02 and already eating at 7.06, perfect. Food was all lovely, with portion sizes just right for us, not gargantuan, not tiny, just right. Amazing gooseberry crumble! Also we were impressed by the vegetables on offer - for example veg served with the Sunday lunch, - sweet potato mash, red cabbage, mushy peas, potato mash, roast potato plus a little bowl of broc, cauliflower and peas. All were perfect and yummy, we love veg so this was really nice. Outside there are cute booths in a little yard which looks to be super nice in the summer. Car park can get busy at Sunday lunch times but can park outside. Bedroom was lovely, comfy bed, nice bathroom, clean, quiet. Highly recommended.
Total surprise. Found this place by accident while having a drive around the North Pennines. I never had such a delicious roast Sunday dinner and the portions! They're huge. Just what's needed after a damn good hike. 😆 🤣 Take note of where this place is, it's easy to not find it again! Hahaha.
We had lovely meals here! The pub was cosy, quiet and served delicious food for reasonable prices. Highly recommend the burgers! We also had halloumi burger, lasagne and steak pie which were all delicious. Friendly staff with calm, relaxed atmosphere!
We stayed at the chapel 200m up the road, Sandford Arms credit to you, food was amazing, the atmosphere friendly bar staff and the locals .
We stayed here to attend a wedding and the atmosphere was welcoming and relaxed. The breakfast service was superb with tasty bacon plus LOTS of classic breakfast fare, so much so I didn't even notice the missing hash browns until the next day when the honest host confirmed he had just forgotten to serve them. A good place to stay.
Had wonderful meal. Great service.

Fantastic friendly staff who care about all those who are using the gym and pool. They are so encouraging and I can't recommend the swim teachers highly enough.
Always super clean, helpful staff and fantastic swimming teachers. This is a gem of a pool.
Daughter has swimming lessons here. Staff are attentive, great with the kids. Never had a negative experience always willing to help and answer questions. I will always remember the pool when it was an open air pool when I was my daughter's age! Along time ago. Gym is well equipped for the size of the center and it's rural location. Well done. Keep up the hard work. 👌🏻💪🏻
Nice clean pool with helpful staff. Only negative was trying to book online would not let me . Went to reception and payed and went straight in no problem. Might be different if really busy.
This is a lovely pool: simple, clean, well thought out facilities run by a thoughtful, lovely team. I visited for the first time and was given a little tour so that I knew where everything was. Thanks!
Great to have in such a small location staff were really friendly and helpful, their lockers don't take the new pounds but they lent me one of those tokens that did the job, there is individual changing blocks rather than male and female, it loses a star as I couldn't have a proper shower as they are pool side, good for a rinse.
Just finished a 2pm swim session. My first since last March 2020 and my first at Appleby. Lovely pool, nice and clean. Very poor welcome. Young msn sitting in office behind counter chatting to young female staff. No one on counter. I walked past and he noticed me. I said I have a 2 pm booking which he confirmed and I booked in. He then went back to the office to continue his chat. It would have been more welcoming had he asked if I'd bern here before, as then perhaps, he may have quickly covered Covid rules in the pool and changing rooms, one way systems, take all belongings to the poolside, location of changing rooms, locker routine etc. Ha.......aybe I'm expecting too much?
Thank you for looking after me. Fantastic pool. Clean. Tidy. Warm and very welcoming! Extremely helpful staff. Above and beyond duties x

St Lawrence Church is such an amazing place. The welcome you receive is priceless, honest, and warm. You're met as soon as you enter this peaceful place. You are warmly invited to take a seat and enjoy a cuppa with the parishioners and vicar. Pop in the welcome is amazing.
A fine, solid and characterful ancient church. It has kept so much of its original features that get a real sense of place. It poses history. It is also a vibrant community hub by the looks of things. I would certainly worship here. 🙏
St. Lawrence's is a wonderful Anglican church with a history dating as far back as the 12th century. While the building itself is worthy of study, there are many other aspects of interest, including the "Frosterley marble" (actually black limestone...) which holds many fossils in its polished surface. The old organ is well worth a closer look too, and the stained glass windows are too good to miss.
Beautiful church. So peaceful
St Lawrence Church is well worth a visit and a walk about. There are interesting memorial plaques and the seating is in family pews rather than open seats. Enjoy the stain glass widows presentations and have a look at some of the well caved tombstones. Also be informed that George Washington the first President of USA’s father and brothers worshiped in the church
Very friendly. Great that they allow dogs to attend too.
A lovely calm and quiet place to get away from the pressures of life. Friendly and helpful staff. Wheelchair access. Toilets, including disabled. Very pleasant to relax and chill down out of the hot summer sun.
St Lawrence's is an amazing place of peace with a warm welcoming feel much has been done to bring the church into the 21 century And it's all credit to the PCC and church wardens who strive hard to keep this beautiful church alive For generations to come to enjoy Please Support your local church Because when there gone ! So is the soul of the place they represent ! Long live St Lawrence's

Great pub Great beer Really friendly Highly recommended
Dog lovers pub 🐾🐾real ale, warm welcome, last decorated in 1963 - who cares, the good stuff out-weighs the old wallpaper, 👍! 🤘 🤘 🤘
First visit and was very welcoming. Staff and locals very friendly. This is your typical community pub, well kept beer.
nice, quaint old bar but 1630s. Good selection of real ales alongside more readitional brewd.
If you want a proper friendly boozer that's dog and human friendly look nice further
Shabby premises but good real ale
Real pub, real people, and they are few and far between!

We visited the Chamley Arms whilst we stayed in Warcop for a mini break. We loved the modern yet traditional feel and the pub was stunning inside. It's dog friendly (our dog loved the treat!), has a great selection of drinks and the staff were very friendly! We weren't local but felt so welcomed which was great. Highly recommend!
Saw the lights were on and although not officially open the landlord was more than happy to serve us, great choice of beers and Lagers and then we just chatted with him and his staff, really nice pub and really nice people, can't wait to return.
Live almost opposite the pub so now officially my local. Great atmosphere & George (my Staffie) friendly. Pizzas are really tasty on a Friday night and can't wait for them to start doing food themselves soon! Highly recommended
Absolutely fantastic little pub, dog friendly which is a plus.... almost as many dogs as humans in when we went, which was perfect!! Really friendly, cracking selection of drinks, and gave tips on where to eat as they only have a pizza van on a Friday night!! If you're in the area definitely pop in for a drink
Was quite a regular visitor while “holidaying” next door, many years ago. Remember going in, but never remember coming out again….🤣
I really enjoyed my visit, 10 of us went for pizza, beer and a chat. Had a great time. Pizza provided by the Engine Shed mobile pizza van that rocks up every Friday. Lovely pizzas. The pub had recently been completely renovated so it looks very new inside so is missing some character. However this will come with time. Dog friendly. Laura behind the bar was lovely. Drinks very reasonably priced. Will definately be going back - I have a new local at last.
Pizza night at the Chamley tonight
It's reopened! Looks good. It will only succeed if we all go there frequently. SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL!
