This is a very interesting place with very well planned displays and good explanations provided. Besides this, it offers places where families can take photos with things from the past. It tells the rich history of Phuket and the regions. Certainly worth the 100 baht entrance fees. However, Google maps shows the route at the entrance road that leads to the museum. The actual location is like 200m further in that small street. In fact, my family of 3 were the only ones there at that time and the staff were very keen to share their knowledge and helped to take photos too. Very friendly and helpful staff. No flash photography allowed.
Not all the exhibits were open during my visit. The few I did see were interesting. If you have some spare time and want to learn more about the history of the Thalang region, then this is a good place to visit. But I would not plan a day around this museum.
Looks abandoned on the outside but the exhibition was very well presented. You can learn about the history of Phuket community and the interesting artefacts around across the island. Worth the visit if you're looking for an informative short visit!
Excellent Museum that has been newly renovated. You move through different rooms that focus on archaeology, trade, the people, and cultural traditions. Cost 120 Baht p.p can pay by card or cash. Well worth the price. Clean restrooms. No food or drink but you can head back out to the main street where there are plenty of choices.
This museum is owned by the government so the ancient subjects are real !! Even it looks boring from outside, the exhibitions are good and worth to see. It will just take about 30 - 60 mins to complete.
Time well spent . I wish more people are here.
Nice museum to visit while in Phuket. It mostly explains the history of Phuket and the immigrants, as well as the diversity of the population and religions. The staff of the museum is very nice.
120 baths ticket. Indoor is better conditioned that outdoors. Aircon halls with coverage of the local history with pieces and projections. Friendly staff.

Small but beautiful, colorful temple on the main road but hidden in the back. You can quickly visit, a large, golden reclining Buddha is on the roof, the stairs are from the back of the building. Free entry, there is a parking lot in front of the temple.
Quiet place, few people. Parking is free. To the reclining Buddha, you can climb the stairs on the right side of the temple. The children were delighted with the statue of the reclining Buddha. We did not enter the temple itself, we walked around.
Temple of the Tuesday Buddha. Just recently learned that the seven Buddha’s postures and gestures have a corresponding connection to the day of the week and as someone born on a Tuesday, I was thrilled to find a temple near our home that corresponds to my day of birth. The reclining Buddha or otherwise known as the Tuesday Buddha is the main highlight of Wat Sri Sunthon, a temple quietly tucked right by one of the busiest main thoroughfares of Phuket plied by vehicles going to the airport or leaving the island through Sarasin Bridge. Most locals zoom past through this area that not many even know of its existence. But when you manage to take a chance and explore its surroundings, the reclining Buddha’s presence as it serenely rests with the sky as its backdrop is quite rewarding. Colourful statues and Thai iconographies also dot the area, making it an interesting stop on your way to catch your flight or simply as a visit on its own.
Nice temple with reclining Buddha on top of the building. Beside this building there is a beautiful temple. However we couldn't enter it as the door was closed.
Wat Sri Sunthon (Wat Lipon) is a Buddhist temple in Thalang, around 14.5 km north of Phuket Town. One of the first things you'll see when entering the temple grounds is the 29-metre-high Sleeping Buddha sculpture, which occupies the top of the wat’s central building. There are also 9 smaller Buddha images in different positions – all facing the entrance as if welcoming you to this holy place of worship. If you look around the temple, you will notice that there are quite a few non-Buddha images, including a giant and lions from Thai myths. They are believed to act as the temple’s guardians. You can find Wat Sri Sunthon around 5 km north of the Phuket Heroine's Monument. The temple is on the left-hand side of Thepkasathri Road.
A very nice temple with a big reclining Buddha, the biggest on Phuket.
Reclining or sleeping Buddha. Place easy to miss or drive by. You can see the reclining Buddha from the road
Important temple located in the middle of the island. The first time is the resting Buddha statue. This statue is large and offers beautiful details. It also has a lot of very striking statues and surprising beauty. The temple is large and has a large pagoda and many small houses where monks live. If you are in the area of Monument Circle, I recommend visiting this temple. Enjoy Phuket! Enjoy Thailand!
