Note: Due to recent minor volcano eruption in January 25, the hiking is not allowed on volcano.
The volcano is surrounded by Taal Lake, the third-largest lake in the Philippines. It was an amazing tourist experience—breathtaking views and unforgettable moments.
Mt. Taal is a complex and active volcano located in Batangas, Philippines, known for its unique geography as an island within a lake, within an island. It is one of the most active volcanoes in the country, with its most recent major eruption in January 2020. TAAL VOLCANO (2025) All You Should Know BEFORE You Go (w ... Information about Taal Volcano | Guide to the Philippines Taal Volcano - Philjets Location and geography Location: The volcano is situated on Volcano Island in the middle of Taal Lake, approximately 50 to 60 kilometers south of Manila on the larger island of Luzon. Nested landscape: Its structure is a unique geological feature: Vulcan Point, a small island, sits within the Main Crater Lake, which is on Volcano Island, which is inside Taal Lake, which is on Luzon. Volcano type: As a complex volcano, Taal is composed of multiple cones and craters, rather than a single, distinct vent. Volcano Island has 47 identified cones and craters. Volcanic activity and history Eruption record: Taal is the second most active volcano in the Philippines, with 39 recorded eruptions, all concentrated on Volcano Island. Its eruptive history has been both mild and violent. 1911 eruption: One of the most devastating eruptions occurred in 1911, killing over 1,300 people. This eruption formed the current Main Crater Lake and drastically reshaped the island. 2020 eruption: The most recent major activity took place in January 2020, involving a phreatomagmatic eruption that sent an ash column 10 to 15 kilometers into the sky. It led to mass evacuations in the surrounding areas, including Metro Manila. Recent unrest (October 2025): The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) reported continued volcanic earthquakes and steam-laden plumes at Taal in October 2025. Designated danger zone: Because of its unpredictability and proximity to populated areas, all of Volcano Island has been designated a Permanent Danger Zone, prohibiting permanent settlement. Monitoring and hazards High risk: Due to its potential for multiple eruption styles, including phreatic (steam-driven), phreatomagmatic (magma and water interaction), lava flows, and base surges (fast-moving currents of gas), Taal is considered one of the world's most dangerous volcanoes. Volcanic tsunamis: Eruptions can also trigger tsunamis in Taal Lake, which have caused fatalities in the past. PHIVOLCS monitoring: The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) constantly monitors the volcano's activity, including seismic activity, sulfur dioxide emissions, and lake temperatures.
Today Phivolcs according to the Director Dr. Teresito Bacolcol confirms series of eruptions of Taal Volcano this morning, October 26, 2025. The first phreatic eruption was at 2:55 a.m. to 2:56 a.m. The second phreatomagmatic eruption happened at 8:13 a.m. to 8:15 a.m. with plume reaching 1200-meter. I suggest evacuation from this place and relocate all Filipinos whonsre living around All Volcanos in the Philippines and relocating all people who's living there around this lake what's actually A BIG Volcano Caldera 🌋 as Yellowstone in USA 🇺🇸
It's a really nice natural phenomenon to visit a couple hours outside of manila you can explore the peaceful countryside and also the natural vegetation of the Philippines the volcano is currently closed access is being the night as it is beam done safe however you can go around the volcano and experience it's majestic views definitely a must visit as a day trip
So even though you can’t hike on the island anymore due to the active nature of the volcano, it’s still super worth taking a boat ride around the lake. Lots to see, plus tons of cool birds flying everywhere. And if you’re lucky, you might even see a little activity from the volcano itself. Highly recommend.
Not sure where other reviewers have been, as you are not currently able to land on the Island. It has been "off limits" since 2021, but MAY re-open in April. That said, the drive down the hillside to get to the village was very interesting, as was the drive around the lake to Taal. We were quoted 5,000 pesos for an hour boat ride or 6,000 for 2 hours which would go right around the Island - we declined. It was worth the trip for the drive and the view but disappointed we couldn't actually visit the Island. On the plus side, there were virtually no other tourists
Very scary and awesome. Like most we climbed to the edge of the crater and it is a bit of a frightening site as it is one of the most active volcanoes in the country and has erupted numerous times in the past. Actually it is composed of a main crater and several smaller craters. The Main Crater Lake is approximately 2 kilometers in diameter and contains a small island called Vulcan Point. This point is the site of a number of volcanic vents and is considered to be the most active part of the volcano.

Taal Lake is a vast body of water that can be found in Southern Luzon, located in the province of Batangas and is generally associated with Taal Volcano. The lake is host to multiple aquaculture facilties and is a huge source of income for the fishing industry. There are also some recreational activities that take place within the lake, largely sightseeing boat trips and yachting.
The bangka ride through the lake is very enjoyable. We watched a nice sunset on the return trip.
Breathtaking view of nature. You can easily see the sediment rock formations on the exterior.its not open for visitors anymore but can go around the lake. The beautiful shore houses look like such a waste as they lie deserted. Boat ride around the lake takes around 90 mins and it's worth it. Locals here are helpful and kind.
Taal Lake Cruise was an awesome experience. Also learned a lot about the volcano, the lake, and the impacts of the eruption on the town of Talisay and other nearby towns.
It was a great experience visiting the smallest active volcano in the world. Trail is a little bit dirty with horse's poo so don't wear your favorite shoes. I didn't have much exercise so the hike is hard for me. Hiring a horse is also a good idea but make sure to hold tightly as there's almost nothing to hold on to nor a helmet. It was a good idea to go early so you have all the space to your photoshoot without the crowd and the hot sun. Make sure to bring your own water or beverage and don't assume that the drinks up there are free. Our foreigner friends did.
Very nice lake close to Manila (only 70 km away but it will take you hours to get there). It`s still an active volcano so inquire about eruptions before going there. Though nice nature and nice trip to a top of an island and nice view. They`ll try to sell you a horse ride to a top but you can walk. It`s only one way although they`re saying otherwise. But, nevertheless, you can still take a horse ride and make them earn some money - they are really, really poor.
Beautiful lake within the lake. With a small island in an Island. The Famous Taal volcano can be seen from a far when you’re in tagaytay highlands and be mesmerized closely with it’s beauty when u go on the trail to the crater.
It was a scary boat ride going to the volcano due to strong wind but we reached safely. The horses that are for rent look frail, not a difficult hike. My 7 yr old nephew reached the crater with no sweat 😝 the view is breath taking! Amazing nature!

my first time to experience masasa beach and i never expected it will be this good! sea water is so clear. i had a chance to experience snorkeling and it’s fine. behind the beach there’s this rice field. A perfect combination of a beach and a rice field.
Beautiful white sands and barely any waves. The water feels peaceful and clean. After taking a tricycle, you'll have to walk a steep road and through a rice field to access the beach so please keep this in mind if you are bringing lots of stuff or you have someone who needs extra care and accessibility. I just wish there were actual life guards on the beach because the government is making the locals pay taxes it. There are nearby vendors who sell snacks and souvenirs.
Visited Masasa Beach and it was such a refreshing escape from the city. The water was clear, the sand was soft, and the whole place had that laid-back, quiet charm perfect for unwinding. It’s not a luxury spot, but that’s what makes it special — simple, peaceful, and beautiful in its own way. Getting there takes a bit of effort, but once you arrive, the view and calm atmosphere make it worth it. The locals were friendly, and the overall vibe was very relaxed and homey. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ — perfect for budget-friendly beach trips, clear waters, and pure chill island life. 🏖️✨
Masasa Beach in Tingloy, Batangas is a serene, off-the-grid gem that feels like a hidden paradise. The powdery white sand meets clear, turquoise waters, perfect for swimming and snorkeling around vibrant coral reefs. The lack of big resorts gives it a laid-back, authentic vibe. Accommodations are simple homestays or tents, ideal for budget travelers. A short trek leads to Mag‑Asawang Bato, offering gorgeous views. Boat rides from Anilao or Talaga Port may be tricky at times, but the calm ambiance, friendly locals, and natural beauty make the journey worthwhile.
Masasa Beach is a hidden gem! I and my friends visited last weekend and was completely blown away by the beauty of this place. The beach has powdery white sand and crystal-clear waters—perfect for swimming and snorkeling. The marine life is amazing; we saw colorful fish even just a few meters from the shore! The locals were very friendly and helpful. We stayed at a simple homestay, and while accommodations are basic, the hospitality made the experience feel very authentic and relaxing. There are also small stores where you can buy food and essentials. Getting there takes a bit of effort (boat ride from Anilao), but it's absolutely worth it if you're looking for a peaceful escape from the city. No loud parties or huge crowds—just nature, sea, and serenity. Perfect for a weekend getaway! Pro tip: Bring cash, your own food/snacks, and snorkel gear if you have one. Also, don’t miss the beautiful sunset!
Masasa Beach sits on the southeastern side of Tingloy Island and is known for clear water, a wide shoreline, and a setting that remains less developed than typical Batangas resorts. The water is generally clear, with good visibility for snorkeling near the rockier sections where coral and small fish are common. The sand is mostly fine but expect scattered rocky patches depending on the tide. The beach is long enough for walking and for finding quieter spots. Because the area is not heavily commercial, the atmosphere can feel calm on weekdays. Infrastructure is limited. Most visitors stay in homestays rather than resorts and should expect basic lodging. Shade on the beach is scarce and comfort depends on what you bring. Food options exist in the barangay but are limited, so advance planning helps. Waste management can vary and some visitors report occasional litter depending on season and visitor volume.
Masasa Beach in Tingloy is a great place to relax and enjoy nature. The beach is clean, the sea is crystal clear, and the overall atmosphere is very peaceful perfect for anyone looking to unwind. The place is undeniably beautiful, making it an ideal destination for a quick beach getaway. We stayed at Donald "Mcdo" Homestay, and the experience was pleasant. The staff were very accommodating, friendly, and always willing to assist us with anything we needed. One thing to note is that from the homestay, it's about a 15 to 20-minute walk to the beach. If you're traveling with elderly companions, walking might be a bit tiring for them. But no worries they also have a boat service that can take you straight to the beach, so you don’t have to walk. The boat ride only takes around 5 minutes, which is very convenient. The only minor downside we experienced is that the air conditioning gets turned off when you leave for the beach, so when you return, you’ll need to wait around 3 to 5 minutes for the room to cool down. Overall, Masasa Beach is a beautiful and relaxing destination, and with the friendly and helpful staff at Donald "Mcdo" Homestay, our stay was comfortable and enjoyable. Definitely recommended for anyone looking for a peaceful beach experience.
Truly the best beach in Batangas! I suggest coming during Amihan season to get the best experience of the beach's blue clear calm waters. Many water activities you can do here like island hopping, snorkeling, fish feeding, etc - cost around Php 2,000 all activities including boat service. There is a main beach and lagoons which are walking distance from each other, so you can strategize by getting a homestay somewhere in between :) Many homestay/transient/cottages here. We spent Php 3,000 for an overnight stay at a transient house with AC room, videoke, toilets, kitchen utensils, gas stoves, etc.. They also have drinking water (purified) 50 per jug. In case of power outage, they have generators in standby. The place is not mobile data friendly but you can stay connected with Piso wifi which is available there. Oh, there are sari-sari stores also so don't worry if you are short of rice or ice (yelo). Happy trip!

Water activities here are cheaper compare to Other beaches in batangas, the sea is clean, though there are some plastic waste, be careful on floating cottages they are slippery. Wonderful place and experience
There are Water Activities you can choose from. P350/head Banana Boat or UFO There's also Jetski rental This beach is good for groups. I think not ideal for couples. The shore is grayish black fine sand. Malinis naman. Not rocky. There's a Convenience Store along the beach where you can buy ice, drinks, snacks etc. Floating Cottages is a must. Swimming vest is P100 rental. P250 for goggles. You can Grill on the boat while swimming and drinking. Sarap! Magpabili lng ng uling sa boatman niyo dahil alam nila saan mas murang bilihan. Ganda ng sunset!!!
A great beach destination for a quick getaway from Manila. The waters are generally calm and shallow, making it ideal for families with kids. The iconic bamboo rafts add to the charm and provide a unique way to relax while floating on the water. There are plenty of resorts and accommodations to choose from, though some could use better maintenance. The beach can get crowded on weekends, so visiting on a weekday is best for a more peaceful experience. Overall, a solid choice for a fun beach trip without traveling too far.
2 1/2 -3 hrs.from Manila if you are traveling in early morning. Very affordable cottages and nipa huts. Upon entering the Matabungkay, you just have to pay 25 pesos for the environmental fee. If you need toiletries, clothes, soap you can buy from 7-11, Alfamart and local groceries and stores that are just around the corner. Lots of Restaurants and carinderia if you prefer not to cook your own food. 3-4 star hotels are also available or you can simply walk in and avail their day tour promo. Public transport is also available and accessible.
deep, salty, relatively clean beach with lots of fish
Not great. Hired a bike to come over for an afternoon visit. On the road there you now get stopped and have to pay 70 paso just for entering the area. I tried a different road but road block was there too so seems government ordered. Went in and got hounded by sellers sounding things at us. Got out of there in under 30 minutes. Wouldn’t come back here. Free places that are nicer and quieter around the area.
The water is clean ,the hotel is clean and big ,have around 50 rooms ,is very good for group or company vacation, the beach have many seafood and good for diving, the boat rent is 500p per hours .
I like the indigo color effect of the sea. We just had snorkeling and a short boat ride at P100 an hour. Plus there are many places to stay like houses for rent and hotels at a gear deal. Ideal for barkada huddle, family outings and reunions. However, the beach is some part is dirty, you see rubbish everywhere. I hope the locals must do a regular cleanup drive. The Port of Batangas has improved so much since the last time I was here—7 years ago to be exact! I was honestly shocked because I don’t remember it being this well-lit and organized. It almost feels like I'm in NAIA. There are also plenty of food stalls too, so you can grab a bite before leaving. The place is fully air-conditioned, which makes waiting way more comfortable. Plus, they have charging ports inside, so you can power up your devices before boarding.
There are a lot of restaurants and stores inside. A lot of seats as well when waiting for boarding. Easy purchase of tickets because there are a lot of counters. Parking is also available. Parked from Friday to Sunday and just paid 566 pesos.
Batangas Port looks impressive and very active, with ships and ferries constantly moving in and out. The area gives a strong sense of how busy maritime life is in this part of the Philippines. From what I’ve seen, the port seems well managed and organized, surrounded by a lively atmosphere with workers and vessels in motion. It’s definitely an important hub connecting many parts of the country, and quite a sight for anyone who appreciates marine life and port activity.
This is a massive port but very organized, clean and well maintained. The roads are paved and smooth even with so many trucks and buses pass by everyday. The roads are wide, well marked and there are directional signs to help motorists navigate the area.
Nice terminal very clean and very busy. Our boat got delayed by 1 hours. But still there's a lot of restaurants. The ambience is nice the line is kind of long but still you can eat I guess? Clean bathrooms nice ambience good seats what is this port? Parking space kind of full.
Batangas Port is a well-maintained and efficient hub, providing easy access for both passengers and cargo. With its clean facilities and modern infrastructure, the port ensures a comfortable and seamless experience for travelers and businesses alike. The organization of the port is commendable, featuring clear signage, helpful staff, and excellent transportation links to Batangas and nearby areas, making it convenient for all who visit. However, one area for improvement is the terminal ticketing process. Currently, passengers need to queue again and pay separately for the terminal fee, instead of having the option to pay it together with their ticket. This minor inconvenience could be addressed by integrating the terminal fee payment into the ticketing process, allowing travelers to make a single payment and avoid waiting in line twice. This would streamline the overall experience and further enhance the port’s efficiency.
Dangerous!!!!!!! If you're foreigner, when you arrive dropoff area, many people around there will approach and volunteer to help you, pick up your luggages from your vehicle and then extort you for tips but they just carry your luggages for 10 meters before give it to port staffs who wearing refletive jacket. I don't mind to give them tips but it's too much take adventage others. I gave them 1000 pesos for 5-6 people but 2 of them request more tips, they told me they are different group with 3-4 men before. I really hate exploiting and disgusting behavior. For port staffs are nice but there are a lot of things should be improved such as sign: no any sign to tell you what you should do, where you should go, what gateyou should wait. timetable of each ferry and where is your ferry.
A busy port, with lots of Ferries operating and more food options than anybody could possibly need! Buses arrive and depart from close by. Allow yourself enough time to buy tickets, a different window for the Port tax, and then clear security screening.

Visiting the Minor Basilica and Parish of St. Martin was an unforgettable experience. As the largest Catholic church in Asia, its grand scale and stunning Baroque architecture immediately take your breath away. The intricate details of the façade, the soaring ceilings, and the beautiful altar create an atmosphere of reverence and awe. Beyond its architectural splendor, the basilica is rich in history and culture. Walking through its hallowed halls feels like stepping back in time. The view from the bell tower is also a highlight—offering a panoramic glimpse of Taal and its surrounding beauty. This place is more than just a tourist spot; it's a spiritual haven and a cultural treasure. Whether you're religious or simply appreciate history and architecture, the basilica is definitely worth a visit.
one of the largest and historical churches in the Philippines and one of the most preserved! the heritage conservation of this church are doing a splendid job! very astoundingly beautiful and you will feel the solemnity inside while praying. it’s as if you have travelled back in time.
A Giant Amongst Churches: My Enduring Connection to Taal Basilica Taal Basilica, officially the Minor Basilica of Saint Martin of Tours, isn't just a church; it's a colossal monument to faith, resilience, and history, standing majestically over the town of Taal. For me, it's a place brimming with memories, its sheer scale and venerable presence interwoven with significant moments of my life and the lives of my family. My earliest memory of Taal Basilica is one of overwhelming awe. As a child visiting relatives in Batangas, a trip to Taal was always on the itinerary, and the church was the undisputed centerpiece. I remember craning my neck, my eyes wide, trying to take in the sheer magnitude of its facade. The guidebooks proudly declared it the largest church in Asia, and standing before its imposing structure, that claim felt entirely believable. The immense wooden doors, the soaring bell tower that seemed to touch the sky – it all contributed to a feeling of incredible grandeur. Inside, the vastness of the nave, the intricate altars, and the hushed echoes of footsteps made me feel both tiny and connected to something ancient and profound. It was a stark contrast to the more modest parish churches I was used to, and it sparked a nascent appreciation for architectural marvels. The history of Taal Basilica is as dramatic and compelling as its appearance. The first church in Taal was actually located by the shores of Taal Lake, but it was repeatedly destroyed by eruptions of Taal Volcano (most notably the devastating eruption of 1754 that buried the old town of Taal and Lipa). This forced the town to relocate to its present, safer site on a hill. The construction of the current basilica began in 1755, after the relocation, under the supervision of Augustinian friars. It has undergone numerous renovations and reconstructions, particularly after an earthquake in 1849, leading to the grand structure we see today, largely completed in 1878. Knowing this history, standing within its walls, gives you a profound sense of the unwavering faith and determination of the people who rebuilt it, time and again, against the backdrop of natural calamities. It’s a testament to the enduring spirit of the Batangueños. As I grew older, my visits to Taal Basilica became more meaningful. It wasn't just about marveling at its size; it was about connecting with family history. My grandparents, devout Catholics, often spoke of the church with deep reverence. I remember attending family Masses there, the powerful organ music reverberating through the immense space, making the experience truly transcendent. On one memorable occasion, we attended a relative's wedding there. Seeing the bride walk down that incredibly long aisle, beneath the soaring ceilings, was a truly cinematic moment, etched forever in my memory. The church, with its rich historical tapestry, served as the perfect backdrop for such a significant life event. More recently, after the 2020 Taal Volcano eruption, there was a collective sigh of relief when the basilica, despite its proximity, largely withstood the ashfall. It was a reminder of its symbolic importance, not just as a religious edifice, but as a cultural landmark and a beacon of hope for the community. Visiting it after the eruption, seeing the dust settled but the spirit unbroken, reinforced its status as a survivor. Taal Basilica is more than just a church; it's a repository of faith, history, and countless personal moments. It stands as a silent witness to generations of prayers, celebrations, and resilience. For me, it continues to be a source of wonder and a tangible link to my heritage, a true giant amongst churches, forever holding a special place in my heart and memories.
Was able to pass by and visit this Basilica in Taal Batangas. The area is clean and quiet. A tourist location if you wish to see a 500yrs old Church in Taal.
The details of the church rivals its European counterparts. Think of an Agustinian church but near the bay this is it. While everything is a reconstruction since the original church was destroyed with ruins in a nearby town, it is nonetheless beautiful, sacred.
It's so nice to see a historic place that is near NCR. Sobrang makasaysayan. I hope they preserve them very well most especially those old houses around San Luis, Taal, and Lemery.
This church is a beautiful structure built long ago — one of the largest ever established in the Philippines. It’s a wonderful place to pray, and you can truly feel the solemn and heartfelt atmosphere while you’re here.
It’s majestic. The architecture is amazing. Will be back again soon. 🙏🥹

Layag Layag Beach – A Hidden Paradise! 🌊🏝️✨ Crystal-clear waters, soft sands, and a peaceful vibe. Perfect for swimming, relaxing, and enjoying stunning sunsets. A must-visit for beach lovers!
For adventure-seekers, Layag-Layag beach is an ideal camping spot with its rugged shoreline featuring seagrass and rocks. While the beach offers exciting activities like cliff diving and snorkeling, a thorough cleanup would make it perfect for swimming. Keep in mind that prices for food are similar to those in Manila, so it's best to stock up on essentials before heading to the campsite. To get there, take a short 5-10 minute boat ride. However, be aware that the campsite has some drawbacks, including unclean water in the restrooms, which rely on seawater. Additionally, there's no electricity, but signal reception is available. With some improvements, this spot could be even more enjoyable for campers and beachgoers. Parking space offers a more decent comfort room for just ₱25/pax.
Highly Recommended but there are some sanitation needed to be done the common toilet is dirty and too many flies
This spot is hidden, you must ask the locals and rent their boat to take you on some hidden spot on the area
Romantic place for beach camping - no fresh water, electricity, comfort rooms. Beach has a nice view of surrounding islets. 2-hour drive from Metro Manila - perfect for daytour.
No entrances fee boat hires 200.00 tent hire 300.00 cliff diving sunset viewing.
One of the worst places I've visited. Nothing to do except stay in your tent almost all day because the water had too many seaweed and moss so you don't really see what you're stepping into if it's suddenly deep or not. No decent bathroom whatsoever and loads and loads of people. Stayed there for 3 days and only got to bathe once in those 3 days cause there was a shortage of running water and people were all lined up for one bathroom in the whole beach. Not to mention the trash that the place is filled with as well as on the water, who knew swimming with empty bottles of soda and empty bags of chips ain't fun? And there were no stores on the beach, the guys that take you there on a small boat literally just leave you there to your own devices until the day comes to pick you up. If you didn't bring enough water or food, well you're screwed.
Place is only good for those who don't have infants/kids. No decent bathroom and if you want to take a shower using a tap water, you need to order that cost 60pesos/container.There weren't too many trees so even if you have a tent, you can't stay inside because it it too hot which will make your baby feel uncomfortable.Water is clear, but it has too many seaweeds.

The place is big enough for a close family and friends wedding spacious and not hot even the chapel is not air conditioned. Greens and floral arrangements surrounding it is good for picture taking. It’s good that their restroom is big and spacious too. And they have bidets on cubicles! Unfortunately it is not pwd friendly, or maybe it is but it will be a long way up for wheels to get to the top.
Our Sacred Beginning: Cherished Memories at Chapel on the Hill Chapel on the Hill, nestled amidst the cool breezes and verdant landscapes of Don Bosco Batulao, isn't just a church; it's the sacred starting point of our shared life, the beautiful backdrop to one of our most cherished memories. Its humble yet captivating presence, overlooking the breathtaking vistas of Tagaytay and Batangas, has been etched into our hearts forever. Before our wedding, I'd heard whispers about Chapel on the Hill – its unique circular design, its idyllic location, and the serene ambiance it offered. I remember the anticipation during our first visit, driving up the winding roads of Don Bosco, the air growing cooler with every turn. When we finally saw it, perched almost precariously on its namesake hill, it was love at first sight. The simplicity of its architecture, the exposed stone, the open-air feel, and that magnificent panoramic view through its large windows immediately captivated us. It felt like a place where vows would not just be spoken, but truly absorbed by nature itself. The history of Chapel on the Hill is relatively young, yet deeply meaningful. It was built by the Salesians of Don Bosco, intended primarily as a place of prayer and contemplation for their seminarians and a retreat for the faithful. Its distinct circular design, unlike traditional rectangular churches, is meant to symbolize community and the inclusive embrace of God's love. I recall learning that the design was deliberate, aiming to create an intimate atmosphere where everyone feels close to the altar, fostering a sense of togetherness. This intentional design perfectly suited the intimate and heartfelt ceremony we envisioned for our wedding. And what a day it was. The memories of our wedding at Chapel on the Hill are vivid and countless. I remember the gentle breeze that day, rustling through the trees outside, almost like a blessing accompanying our vows. The natural light streaming through the large glass windows illuminated the entire space, giving everything a soft, ethereal glow. The stunning view of the Batangas mountains and distant Tagaytay ridge served as our witness, making the moment feel incredibly grand yet intimately ours. Every detail of that day is intertwined with the chapel itself: the soft echo of our voices, the warmth of our loved ones gathered around us in that unique circular embrace, the way the late afternoon sun cast long shadows as we emerged as husband and wife. Even the short walk to the reception area within the serene Don Bosco Batulao complex felt magical, extending the sacredness of the ceremony. Now, whenever we pass by the area, or even just see a picture of it, a wave of warmth washes over us. Chapel on the Hill isn't just a picturesque landmark; it's the beginning of our story, a place that embodies the solemnity of our commitment and the beauty of that unforgettable day. It stands as a constant reminder of the blessings we received and the tranquil, hopeful start to our life together. It truly is a sanctuary of love and memory for us, forever holding a special place in our hearts.
A serene glass chapel overlooking the hills of Batangas, perfect for prayer, reflection, or intimate weddings. The 360° view and gentle breeze make it a sacred escape from the noise of the world. On the hill, silence feels alive. Surrounded by light and wind, you sense God’s nearness. Worries fade, and peace quietly returns. “You are the light of the world. A city built on a hill cannot be hidden.” — Matthew 5:14 🌄
A very serene place. Made me reflect on everything; Perfect as a retreat place for Bosconians!

This is a beautiful serene place. It was kind of foggy when we dropped by, but that didn't take away from the beauty of its location. Comfort rooms are kinda small, but they were clean. We wanted to have our convalidation ceremony here, but the Parish that handles the paperwork wasn't replying, and when we did drop by during their office hours, they went on half day, so we ended up booking a different church.

St. John the Evangelist was Church 2 in our Visita Iglesia 2023. The church interiors was massive, well preserved while the exteriors impressive! Truly one of the most majestic in Batangas.
This is a nice church but it lacks the attention and care it needs. Being a church associated with schools, there must have been enough budget to pay for cleaners, and maintenance. The church paint is outdated, the fans are dirty, and the walls dont look like they are cleaned regularly. People come here regularly and give at least fairly generous amount of donations. Hopefully the organizers pay more attention to it. Speakers need to be better as when people are situated at the far back end of the church, they can barely hear the sermon. Airflow inside the church is very poor, instead of electric fans in the middle of the hallways, maybe the organizers can consider a center wall fan like the other churches have---like that one in Padre Pio.
Always has a place in every Tanaeños heart. Can accommodate Wedding, Baptismal, First Communion, Confirmation, and other church related activities. St. John Evangelist Church can fit more than 800+ people.
I FEEL Bless when I go there the church is beutiful
Very serene and quiet place to connect with our creator
Every sunday we attend mass here in st john, theres a parking area.
nice place but needs improvement specially if more, i mean a lot of people will go there. They have to put better fun (knowing the weather of the Philippines) so that all of the visitors wouldn't feel so much hot inside
This is one of the three major churches in Sto Tomas Batangas. The other two is the shrine of Padre Pio and Sta Clara.
