This pond is so deep it makes you want to jump in it but please don't because they don't know how deep it is.( It can be very dangerous.) It is so amazing how this little pond can produce so much water. One of the entrance has a folktales about how this pond was created with little statutes. I wish it was written in English as well as Korean. But the little statutes are well made for anyone to understand easily which is very impressive. The story is a mink came to ask for some food at the richest person, Mr. Hwang, in town. Mr. Hwang was mean Anna he gave poop to the monk. The daughter in law saw this and gave monk some rice. The monk appreciated her kindness and advised her to leave this house with him because he sees karma will get Mr. Hwang as the monk leaves. The monk warns the daughter in law not to look back whatever happens. So the daughter in law decides to leave and as she and the monk leaves the house sunk into the earth making a huge noise. She turned around to see what happened and became a rock. They explained where the rock is but I didn't have enough time to check it out. So sad... Anyways, back to reality ;) At the moment, this area is being expanded. So I'm sure it'll look even better after all the construction is completed.
It's always good here. It has been revamped sometime within the last 5 years. And during the summer festival the pond itself has lights crisscrossing over it. Why not.
Beautiful park area in the middle of Taebaek
It's a place which has a legendary pond.
Fascinating in the early morning with a fog.

Great value for the 7k. Takes a good 30-40 minutes of spelunking. The roof gets very low at some points, but there is a well made metal path and railings throughout the whole cave. You can learn about some cave stuff and Korean history.
It's a great cave to walk through and had a pathway the whole time. Some portions require ducking very low, but it's all fun! It's a quick walk through and worth the 3500krw for the hour it takes to go through
Fun cave to visit. Lots of stairs. You can get to the cave by bus number 10, 11, 12 from the express bus terminal or 100 meter from the train station.
Located at the highest altitude in Korea. Interesting place for tourists!
Check it out if you are in the area. Well worth the vist. Take your children. They will like too.
I recommend you to visit. However no kids, no old people because of too many obstackles.
Very nice staff 👍

The 20,000 won will be refunded as a Taebaek Love gift certificate and can be used at stores, cafes, food courts, and gift houses within Safe Town. There are various experience rooms and locations, and each experience can be experienced in 20-minute or 30-minute intervals. Since there are no reservations, you have to do one experience and then wait in line to go to another experience. The 4D forest fire experience, snow sea experience, storm and flood experience, and earthquake experience are loved by children and are somewhat like amusement rides. Are karaoke, airplane escapes, and life safety experiences a bit educational? It's the same thing, so it's not as fun as waiting for a long time. Good for educational purposes The cable car is always running and runs approximately every 5-6 minutes. Snacks are sold at an outside stand. A package of cup ramen costs 3,000 won. Fried seaweed roll costs 4,000 won and comes with 6 pieces. You can buy cup ramen and eat it with a gift certificate. The experience time is short and the waiting time is longer than expected. The actual fee is 2,000 won, so I don't think it's worth it, but I wouldn't come if it were more expensive. Gift certificates can be used at nearby restaurants or gas stations (Original) 2024.10.03 입장료 22000원. 2만원은 태백사랑 상품권으로 환급해주며 세이프타운 내에 매점, 카페, 푸드코트, 선물의집에서 사용가능.
