Buddhist temple

Large Buddhist temple complex with gardens, ponds & seasonally blooming peonies & wisteria.
Slide 1 of 8
One of the largest temple I've visited in Adachi City. It has food stalls inside, the tree's during the winter is really looking good, the ponds are fill with fishes and there are a lot of statue to explore. I hope to go there in spring as well. A nice place to spend few hours with family or friends. Recommended for any foreigners who loves to visit shrine.
Famous with wisteria but when i came it bloomed just a little. There is not much to see
the place was amazing ! i liked the whole vibe ! the neighborhood around is very cute ! i highly recommend ❤️
Beautiful to explore in all seasons. The grounds are fairly spacious as far as temples in Tokyo go, so it’s good for toddlers/small children to wander around. The pond area to the left of the temple is so scenic. Very quiet on weekdays. We enjoy getting our new year fortunes here. Lots of food stalls and atmosphere on weekends and holidays. Don’t miss the wisteria in April - it’s gorgeous.
04/11/2021 I visited here for its famous Peonies' Garden. Luckily wisterias has just bloomed and late blooming double-flowered cherry trees are in full bloom now. 10/18/2020 This year is my first unlucky year, so I visited here to remove the bad luck.
Charming temple, went in July for a windchime festival. Several food & ice cream stands leading up to temple grounds. Wasn't as easy to access compared to other shrines & temples in Tokyo, had to take an extra bus from closest station so that could be intimidating for tourists.
Stunning architecture , gardens , koi ponds , best days are 8, 18 or 28th of any month , Sundays and festival days 0bon and new year Eve , or if you want to go and have the place nearly all to your own any week day is very quiet .
Lovely working temple in use by the locals. A very impessive structure. Lovely peaceful gardens to sit and reflect. Shops selling interesting foods, snacks and souvenirs on the street in front of the temple.

Such a beautiful park, people can have picnics, do day camping, family gatherings and so on. For camping you have to rent the campsite. Especially during cherry blossom season it's a must visit place. There are several paid parking areas nearby the park.
I did really enjoyed the place for 3 hours doing a self photoshoot. Because it’s a popular park a lot of visitors came here to take photos and videos specially doing photo shoot of their pets. And yeah everyone will also have a chance to see cute puppies 😍. As it gets crowded taking pictures with a clear background is really taking time☺️. All in all enjoy the park.
I went here in early May for a chance to see nemophilias in Tokyo and I wasn't disappointed. Toneri Park offers much more than I expected, with its vast space, tranquil atmosphere and various features. There's an area for fishing as well. A good change of scenery from the bustling city center.
Beautiful park located in north side of Tokyo. After two days of rain and one cloudy day there was a great crowd showing up. This park is popular among seniors. Also families with young children. But some grassy areas turned into marsh fields. This is a very large park. Even a lake or pond. Also there’s a sledding area for kids. Many kinds of Sakura still in full bloom.
we came here in mid april and that's the last bit of the cherry blossoms! thanks god it was a bright sunny day and with the pink from sakura, green from the grass and leave, blue sky, all was beautiful! there were a lot of people too but still we could manage a place to sit down and enjoy the lovely scene. happy to come again next year for another sakura party. more travel ideas, photos & videos👇🏾 follow me on ig: food.n.cats.not1less
Such a beautiful place and not really crowded. Good spot for hanami and doing picnic during cherry blossom season
It’s safe to say, one of the largest park in The city. It’s well maintained, a lot of spaces and playgrounds. There are spots for camping as well. In another word, to spend quality time with friends or family, this is one of the best spot. The afternoon here can be quite relaxing.
Beautiful place! First time to see Nemophila! Closed to Toneri-Koen Station, 4 minutes by walking (East Exit). I did picnic with my friends.. Sang a song, my friends played Guitars. It’s one of my best moment in Japan ❤️

Zoo

Small, child-focused zoo in a large park with aquariums, a butterfly house & animals to hand feed.
Slide 1 of 8
The best animal/Zoo Park I ever visited in Japan! So much to see. So many nice animals. Really beautifully designed. It was very empty on a Friday afternoon. loved it. hidden treasure this Park. And it costs only 300Yen. I will come again.
It’s really astonishing and surprising that they have so many different types of species and specimens in that place. If you have a kid or a date, definitely go there. You will enjoy a quality time. Although they doesn’t have much land type animal. They have a quite a collection of water type. After enjoying the inside of park. You can have a nice picnic there. There are lots of space and quite a big field to spend morning or evening with friends or family
Tucked away in a quiet corner of Adachi, this park was such a refreshing find. It’s not the kind of place that screams for attention, but that’s exactly what makes it special. The entrance fee is just 300 yen, and for that, you get a surprisingly rich experience. The butterfly greenhouse was a highlight for me. Walking through it felt like stepping into a dream, with butterflies fluttering all around. It’s not every day you get to be so close to these delicate creatures in such a serene setting. Beyond the butterflies, the park offers a variety of exhibits. There’s a large aquarium near the entrance showcasing vibrant goldfish, and various enclosures housing reptiles, birds, and small mammals. One of the most charming aspects is the petting area, where you can interact with guinea pigs and rabbits. It’s clear that the animals are well cared for, and the staff are attentive and friendly. The park also hosts seasonal events, like firefly viewing in the summer, which I’ve heard are magical. While I didn’t get to experience that myself, it’s on my list for next time. Getting there requires a bit of effort—a 20-minute walk from Takenotsuka Station—but it’s worth it. The surrounding area is peaceful, making the journey part of the experience. If you’re looking to escape the hustle and bustle of Tokyo and enjoy a more relaxed, nature-focused outing, Adachi Park of Living Things is a wonderful choice.
A cute little park, it has more insects and water creatures compared to land animals. The land animals seem quite healthy and happy. But the tanks seem a bit small for the shark and bigger fishes. For just 300 yen per person, I’d say it’s a pretty good park! There is also a huge area for picnic and a nice playground for kids. They also have small domesticated animals like guinea pigs and cats.
Nice small zoo with unique animals, eye opener
I was really surprised at how good this facility is. It’s a local endeavor, so I didn’t expect much; but it it turned out awesome. They have poison dart frogs, exotic snakes, Amazonian fishes, tropical plants, butterflies of all sorts, birds, beetles, and even a kangaroo, among various other animals. It’s excellent for young children, too. If you’re a resident of Adachi-ku, one day per month is a free visit. Just check the website for details. All in all, it’s a well put together park and is definitely worth a visit, especially if you live in the general area.
Recommended place to visit, both for the young and old. Seeing the animals inside is a nice experience. They have a firefly room available for viewing during the daytime but there are slots so you need to sign up. I think it’s available only in the summer. It’s not as great as the actual thing but it’s probably the best chance you have if you can’t go out of Tokyo. The entire place is actually wonderful, too. About 1-2 hours is enough to see everything.
I have mixed feelings about the place. It was quite interesting and I enjoyed my time there. I am a bit concerned with sizes of the cages that animals and insects inhabit. I felt especially bad for two cute little monkeys. For sure great place for children or just for some rest in a nice surroundings.

I came here for a concert. It was very fun. Getting a ticket is hard without a japanese phone number and/or japanese language skills.
This should be a great place. But they cannot manage their popularity. Everybody wait and nothing is being used. Such a waste. If they fix the management it could be so much better. If your wife allows your kids to take a day off school then you can go when there are nobody
Great place with too many rules. It's dysfunctional. Need a better system to handle the demand. They tell you it's all reserved but walls are empty. Someone gets ready to do the climbing with rope and while she gets prepared no one uses the wall. Such a waste
It is a great civic center. They have concerts and a lot of activities for kids, such as rock climbing, and a net room. Some assortment of free classes are held here as well, from Japanese language classes to English language classes. They have other classes but to get a complete list, go there or to their website.
Good planetarium. Staff are friendly. We lucky we got free ticket to see planetarium. But the movie is japanese languages. By the way the movie is very nice.
Almost free except theater. Good facility for kids activity and education. A little afraid of language support. Most stuffs can speak only Japanese.
Entertainment paradise for kids. 180 degrees planetarium is a good place to visit for families.
Great range of activities for kids of all ages at a very reasonable price.

A big beautiful park near Tokyo budoukan. I went here during the sakura season and it was so pretty. There are benches everywhere to sit and relax. Many sakura trees, many families were doing picnics there, talking, eating and drinking. There is a small lake and bridges and cute ducks. You can walk your dog, cycle, and picnic. There are playgrounds too for the kids to play. The park is long so people can sit anywhere. There are public restrooms and convenient stores nearby. It is pretty and clean. Totally recommend.
There is a play area.. good place for hanami in Sakura season
It is a nice park near Ayase station. I think it's a great and convenient place to jogging, running and exercising, cause the shape of the park is exactly a "ring". So of you live near around, it's worth trying.
We’re here almost 3 time a week with my son and walking in the night with my husband,,, its really long and big park good for walking, the sakura its good at the spring,, im exited for coming autumn im sure its beautiful too
It was quite and small park, and there were lots of local people jogging, and kids hanging out. I was the only foreign traveler. Big trees, local swmming pool and baseball ground. It takes avout 20mins from ayase station by walk, even nearer from kita-ayase station. Recommend for who visited tokyo several times, wants quite and local place to walk. Fully surrounded by residential area. Better go to ayase station if you're hungry or thirsty.
Neat little park in a suburban area. Quick walk from train station. Went to annual Iris Festival, small but nice, family-oriented day out, with stalls, activities for kids and food vans.
Really good park. The park is structured as a long walkway instead of a circular shape. It has a lot of ponds, water wheels and other attractions. Also close to the station. Very good place to enjoy an evening or have a walk. During sakura the park is very beautiful with lots of blooming trees. Also there are areas for children to play and also a baseball court. Highly recommended for family and couples.
It's a fairly large park, spanning multiple city blocks. Walking the park at a leisurely pace would take about an hour, although if you walked straight through without stopping you could get through it a lot faster. For kids there are a several play structures, but the best ones are found on the west side of the park (it's close to the Police box if you look at the Google map). There are plenty of waterways for the kids to play in (there's no water park though). For adults, it's good for a nice stroll or picnic. There's a swimming pool found on the East side of the park. There's also a couple baseball fields found on the East side and one in the center of the park. There's not a lot of big open fields The park would be a nice park to visit for families. The kids may get tired walking the entire park, so you may want to pick which part of the park you want to go to and go straight there. The west side is the most kid friendly. Near the centre of the park there's a very nice pond and stream area to walk around and even picnic.

To spend a quality of time with friends or family or date in adachi city. I don’t know any better place than this one. It has almost everything. A big, i mean really big park with ponds, fields, camping place, playground for kids, washrooms, even a small living zoo where you can see many water type animals. In another word, it has everything you need on a weekend.
Good place to visit 👍👍👍seeing Christmas illumination in japan for free 😍😍😍
It’s one best place to the Christmas illumination in Chiba
Spacious, kids can play & run around. They have place to play with balls, and fishing area too. We frequently visit the 生物園 when we go to this park.
This must be the bigger park housing the Adachi Park of Living Things. When you exit the latter park, you will find yourself in this park, and there are many trees and paths. There are benches. There are people and bikes. There must be a lot more to the park and it certainly looks like a nice place to hang out.
Note that the playground has entry fees. The entry is beside the management center.
Nice place to spend time with your kids. There’s even a little zoo.

this mall is bad because this frickin things have over 177 ants and even more freaky a dog. very bad place
I often visit Lumine at Kita-Senju. It is very convenient as there is a direct entrance from the Chiyoda Line Subway to the basement floor. The 8th floor has a good selection of restaurants with different kinds of food. Also, you can get a Lumine credit card which includes a Suica smartcard. When used as a credit card there is a discount on purchases at Lumine.
Good store. Is a little pricey but does have a Tokyu Hands and good food offered on the ground level.
Good for shopping The food court and food store personnel are very helpful and pleasant. Just wished they would go back to opening at 1000 (pre cornavirus)

Beautiful...only word I can find. I went there beginning of march. So the sakura leaves is just starting to come in life of colors. It is a nice park but for a agriculture student, it is also a nice place to check out the plants and greenhouses. Really enjoyed my time there...sitting there during the sunset is also another great privilege. There is a small cantina there where u can buy foods, or vending machine for different types of drinks, even a free cycle parking. Overall, great place to visit. Obviously will visit during sakura blossom. It will be a worth place to visit that time. Edit: just opposite of the Agricultural Park by the riverside, you can find beautiful flower garden where various colored flowers are there during sakura season.
A hidden gem in Adachi. Absolutely gorgeous in the spring with cherry blossoms, tulips, green grass and more. Has a cafe area with plenty of outdoor seating for enjoying ice-creams and drinks. A grassed space for picnics. A farm area to walk through and explore. A fun playground for kids with a long hillside slide. Plenty of bicycle parking. An indoor area for information about the farm and marketplace goods for sale. Right by the river so you can enjoy walking along there too. A great spot for a sunny afternoon out.
Lovely park. You can experience different types of tulips here. I think spring is the best time to visit this place. Parking lot is also available.
Nice park that is generally free to the public. It contains a tropical atrium, historical buildings and a nice picnic/pond area. It's located on the edge of the Arakawa River and makes for a great place to stop and rest after a bike ride or job along the river. Unfortunately, the last time I was there they had removed the big triangle palm they had. But it’s still worth a visit.
This agricultural park is a sort of demo and experience park run by Adachi city of Tokyo specialized in organic farming methods. Therefore here there's less adventure facility attractions, and focus is more on the vegi farming side (no animals but you can see more natural creatures or insects coexisting with vegis, which you can learn from the staffs.) If you and your children want to participate in harvesting or farming experiences here, you need to make reservations. Very rare place where you can know the better balance among nature, vegis, creatures, and human where we do not have to use chemical insecticides or fertillizers. Highly recommended.
Tulips, cherry blossoms are here. This is a public farm station. Lots of people enjoy outdoor.
Lovely place for an afternoon stroll. Plenty to admire in the fields. A classroom off to the side of the greenhouse offers unique agricultural experiences
I just stopped in quickly (about 30 minutes) while I was cycling to somewhere else, but I would like to go back soon! They have great areas to stroll around farmland, good museum to show off the natural flora and fauna of the region, a rest centre where they sell local produce, a cafeteria, and a nice big picnic area! It's a shame they don't allow pets, but that's understandable. I will be returning soon!

This place just like another park around tokyo. But park design for all age groups. Its have open play ground, swing, sand play, seesaw, and also pond. They wide range of sessional flowers collection. Most attractive is the artificial water fall, its water bed. It is most amazing part of park, specially in summer. Kids love it. Here i attached some photos of it. But its more entertaining than you think from the photos.
I've always gone through this park every time I go to Kita Ayase station or sometimes I want to eat my breakfast after buying it at konbini, very peaceful and calm
Had gone during an event. It is a chill place, recommended to spend time there.
Beautiful landscape , a peaceful place to walk and sit .
Refreshing place! scenery is good though the weather is hot it makes me refreshed because of the sounds of the flowing water and the leaves
Sprawling public park with an emphasis on the Japanese Iries, part of the flowering spectacle that is common to the Iris family. There are different plots dedicated to the growing of such plants that are sponsored by residents or companies. You can also find groves of Sakura trees that'd be really nice to view on spring as well as maple trees whose leaves in autumn would be a treat. Flowing through this park are water channels and a revolving waterwheel. And to round it off, there are the usual public toilets, a baseball field as well.
Nice spot. Great waterfall and stream. Public restroom and all necessary facilities. Pleasant spaces with well designed views.
Beautiful and refreshing... Best spot to photograph and chill out. Waterfall is the best thing there

(Translated by Google) It is a sales office that is like a teacher, teaching us how great other Yamato sales offices are. First of all, the entrance is difficult to find from the north-south street, and you almost enter by mistake. There was a disturbing atmosphere as if two people were complaining in the back... When I rang the bell to return the item, a young woman came out after a while and yelled, ``We're going to have a problem if you don't seal this properly!'' (I want to die from being scolded for having to wait) and put the tape away. I handed it over (does it exist?), and as I was hastily wrapping it up, I thought to myself, ``Wow, I've come to a different place than the kind Yamato that I've been used to, where I was like, ``Yes, please use this.'' Is this Fe〇ex?'' When I timidly handed it to him, he looked grumpy and started working on it! He handed me the slip and it was over. (That's why I don't like the outside world and people I don't know...) I ran outside, exacerbating my social phobia. Reviews often say things like ``the receptionist's attitude is bad!'' and I think it's true, but it really does happen. If you were to ask me what to expect from someone who earns a minimum hourly wage + or so, that would be it, but it was a company with high expectations, and I was nervous about the work I was not used to, so it was tough. I'm lucky that there are many offices and this one isn't the closest one, and Nakano Arai was generally kind, so I thought it would be better to use there. I'm sure he was just frustrated because he was busy and had to work all day long during the holidays...I'm really sorry to the Amazon delivery guy who was a little rude about returning the item, but I'm thinking of having him pick it up from now on. I'm completely complaining, but I think machines are better and I'd like to see them automated. Even if someone shakes your hand 99 times out of 100, if they slap you the last time, you won't want to go near them anymore. This is a long post because I wanted to express my deepest feelings, but in conclusion, it's better not to use this part. Please go if you don't mind being slapped in the neighborhood and heart. If you are a tourist in Japan this is a place that you should try if you want to taste a home made soba ( buckwheat noodles) the soup is very authentic, they have a lot of foods to offer, this shop is already 50+ years 😍😍😍
Best miso ramen and tsukemono we ever had!
(Translated by Google) Karaage set 1,000 yen Visited after 1pm on weekdays. 4 customers first, 1 customer later. It's lively for lunch. Inside the store, there are 5 4-seater tables and 2 4-seater tatami rooms. There are two staff members: the owner in the kitchen and the hostess in the hall. When ordering the title verbally, I asked for cold soba for the set, and it was served in about 8 minutes. The fried chicken in the set is small in size, but it is juicy with a light and crispy texture and is delicious! Zaru soba is made with buckwheat flour from Kamikawa-cho, Hokkaido, and is made into long, thinly sliced soba noodles. It's well drained. There's seaweed and a lot of chopped green onion as a condiment, so you can enjoy the flavor well. The rice is about the same size as a normal bowl. It also comes with pickled vegetables and miso soup, so if you drink the soba yuwari, you'll have a full meal. I was able to eat delicious fried chicken and soba noodles at a soba restaurant located a few minutes walk from Nishiarai Daishi Nishi Station on the Nippori Toneri Liner. I'm also interested in the special tsukemen, which is limited to 10 servings. I don't know if all types are available, but takeout is OK.

It’s beautiful place for all age people. There is a football ground beside the park for training, specifically on holidays. Inside the park, there is green environment makes you feel refreshing. Good for family gatherings. However, this park is open for specific time based on sessions.
Not a bad park; but not so special. Nice place to just sit and read a book. I collected some interesting plant/tree seeds from what's growing in this park. If you don't live locally, I can't recommend making a trip to visit this park. But it's just fine if you live close by.

This museum is quite local and mainly focused on Shinjuku, but it also offers many interesting insights into Japanese history, cultural development, and everyday life in Japan 🇯🇵. The highlight for me was the exhibition of old Japanese items and traditional houses 🏘️, which you can actually enter. It’s fascinating to see or recall what Japanese people wore and used 30, 50, or even 90 years ago. There’s also a photo 📸 exhibition comparing how Japan looked in the past versus today. You can even find your own neighborhood in Tokyo and see how it has changed over time. Tickets 🎫 are only 300 yen, making it a great place to visit if you’re interested in museums and Japanese history. Highly recommended!
Lovely museum of the history of Japan (mainly Shinjuku and some surrounding areas). Walks you from 15,000 to 20,000 years ago, though that portion was a bit sparse. They have coin lockers too, and it's free (¥100 deposit that's returned to you when you end). And the museum staff were very friendly. Totally worth the entry fee (¥300 per adult).
It is not a huge exhibition, but it is meaningful. It is 99% in Japanese, but not hard to navigate. I loved the room with the artwork and photos from different eras. I found the documentary reel captivating that runs through the 20th century history of Tokyo and Japan, with a special focus on their relationship with America. For only ¥300 it is worth a visit.
It is a small museum about Shinjuku city 300yen u can learn about Shinjuku history. It is located in the alley . If you been to the fire museum then you can walk to here.
Good museum for this category. Some things weren’t specific to Shinjuku but it was nice to see. Spent 1 hour but could’ve easily stretched it 1.5 hours. You can still enjoy it even without being able to read Japanese.
We went here on a bit of a whim while we waited to check-in to our hotel which was close by. We weren't expecting much but it very much exceeded our expectations. There were a lot of different exhibitions and detailed the history of the area from ancient times all the way to modern history. A lot of the information, understandably, was in Japanese however English information leaflets were provided. The facilities were all very clean and easily accessible. The ticket price was inexpensive and easy to obtain, no need to pre-book, unless looking to attend with large groups. Highly recommend if you're in the area and have a few hours spare. There is a mall close by as well which is perfect for grabbing a bite to eat after.
Small museum detailing the history of modern-day Shinjuku, mainly from 200 AD to today. Staff are very nice and provide pamphlets with translations of all of the main placards on each display.
A small, community focused museum about the Shinjuku area of Tokyo. Provides fascinating insight into the area's history from the paleolithic right up to the recent past, with recreations of a medieval merchant's house and an early 20th century salaryman's house, among others. There was also a special exhibit on the Japanese relationship with animals when I visited, with displays of artwork and artefacts representing all kinds of creatures. All of the signage is in Japanese, and although I was provided with an English guide to the main exhibit, the museum is well laid out and I felt like I didn't need it.
