I recently traveled with Seatran Ferry in Thailand, and it was a smooth and well-organized experience. The ferry was clean, spacious, and offered comfortable seating with air-conditioned cabins as well as open-deck seating for those who prefer fresh air and scenic views. Boarding was hassle-free, with clear instructions and friendly staff assisting passengers.
Very well organised. Very smooth trip, comfortable seats and nice cantina with super cheap meals and drinks. Affordable tickets and will definitely recommend traveling to or from Koh Samui.
I took Seatran while returning from Koh Samui to Surat Thani. It was a pleasant journey from the very start. Check in to board was very smooth. The deck and the seating area was clean and very well managed. Loved their sky deck. Smooth sailing.
Super professional outfit. I had a bad experience with ferry crossing in the past in Thailand. Long wait, que jumping, unclear signage etc. This is a well oiled organisation. I was worried I would not be able to bring my bike on because online booking is unavailable to Samui that day. No such concern, there is dedicated space for about a dozen bikes at the back of the Ferry. All for 230 bahts including rider. The Ferry itself is nice too. Aircond seating and nice outside viewing. 2 big thumbs up to Seatran.
Best ferry to carry own vehicle to Ko Samui. Always buy ticket in advance online, and show the booking ID in counter to get ticket. Arrive at least 30mins before, and ferry trip around 2.5 hour.
Seatran is a strong and reliable company that safely provides transportation between Donsak and Samui. They depart hourly from five in the morning until seven in the evening, and the journey takes approximately 1.5 hours. There is a kiosk on the ferry where you can find food and drinks. I can definitely recommend them as a good company.
Excellent ferry service very comfortable rude to next island 🏝️ excellent seats and views great way to travel hop around the islands, excellent food available on board very well organised and safe lots decks available to enjoy the crossing and admire the views, staff very helpful and friendly safety first price very fair
The ferry area and ferry itself is great. However the private taxi service from the dock at Koh Phangan to our hotel was a scam. It was not private and we had to pay 1200tbh. The hotel charged us 400thb private for the ride back. Please be aware of this service. Thanks for the reaction; however the private taxi service was sceduled by a Seatran Ferry desk officer at the Seatran Ferry desk at the Thong Sala pier. As attachment you can see the bill with Seatran on it. We filed a complaint but didnt hear anything back.

the terminal, as it allowed us to avoid the crowds and secure a good spot on the ferry. The check-in process was smooth and well organized, with helpful staff guiding us along the way. The ferry itself was comfortable, with plenty of seating options. We appreciated the clean facilities and the availability of snacks and drinks onboard. The views of the surrounding islands during the crossing were breathtaking and made the trip enjoyable. One highlight was the efficiency of the boarding and disembarking process. We were able to get on and off the ferry without any hassle, which is always a plus when traveling with luggage. Overall, the ferry service to Koh Samui was a great choice for our trip. I highly recommend arriving early to make the most of the experience, and definitely take some time to enjoy the scenic journey!
I’ve used this ferry a few times to get my car over to Samui. The system’s pretty straightforward, and booking online saves a lot of time at the ticket counter. Just don’t trust the schedule too much boarding and travel usually run later, so best to show up early and plan some buffer time. There’s a little minimart on the boat for snacks, drinks, and instant noodles. Seating’s available inside and out, but the indoor area can be a bit grubby. Not the cleanest ride, but honestly, if you’ve got a car to bring over, this is pretty much the only game in town.
It was not possible, to buy a ticket to Koh Phangan online, 4 days bevor Ride! Needes any discussions and phonecalls to get Tickets, at the station in Donsak. Ride was ok, it is an old ferry …
Very stupid system..! Those bringing in cars and buying tickets online have to wait up to 6 to 7 hours. The management should have foreseen such problems. There's absolutely no information on how long the wait will be. Not recommended for entering Koh Samui. Why open tickets for walk-in passengers when online bookings are already full?! The management knows exactly how many ferry trips there are each day. The Thai government should step in and address this incredibly stupid system.
Pretty good overall, seems to be a lot of commercial vehicles and little foot travellers on Raja ferry's. If you take your car, wait until last minute to go below deck, depending on the vessel and vehicles its horrendous and hard to breathe waiting for offload.
Suppose a 1pm ferry across, but ended up ferry departs at 245pm .. ferry is older but still comfortable. No more hot food is available, too. The only thing that I like over Seatran is that passengers can ride into the ferry with the car.
Online purchased ticket prior to arrival. Drive through the counter to check in. Easy & convenient.
The logistic is bad, you never depart on time, on the way I waited 2h10min even if I book my ticket 1 week before for 2pm so we board at 4.20pm on the way back we waited another 1 hour 30 min. Inside the ferry is good enough. It doesn’t follow any schedule whoever come first leave first. Another good thing, we changed our ticket date 2 hours before the actual check-in and they didn’t charge us anything so its nice.

Hug Village in Don Sak, Surat Thani is a beautifully kept park with a lot of things to see. They have flowers, trees, cars, goats, piggies, hors riding and a nice restaurant with a big terrace and a strunning view. A nice trip also for kids.
Have entrance fee but worth it. Great place. Well organized. Very nice view and great activities as well.
