A wonderful afternoon spent with the family at this woodland treasure. Easily accessible by car, bus or train. To get there, take the Waldbahn or Igelbus, or set your SatNav for the car park of the Nationalparkzentrum Falkenstein to reach the right spot first time! Car parking charges apply. A well maintained and signposted circular 2.5km path leads you through woods and fields. Wheelchair and pushchair accessible with some steep parts. There were picnic benches available along the path. In large habitat enclosures lynxes, wolves, aurochs and Przewalski's horses live. Viewing platforms are roomy but despite patience and quiet, only the aurochs were visible today. We were advised to walk the longer (2km) Part to the Haus der Wildnis first, which worked well for us. We dined at the Organically Certified restaurant on site. Excellent value and choice of freshly prepared food. The centre itself has a fantastic children’s play area (up to 12 years) which kept our children engaged for over an hour. There are also great interactive, educational exhibits for all ages. It is spacious, spotlessly clean and maintained to a high standard. Staff were beyond friendly. We spent 5hours here and could easily have spent longer.
We started our path with the aurochs and the przewalski's horses, which had a stunning backdrop of the mountainous area. Too bad the wolves and lynxes didn't show their faces to us 🥲
Well.. seeing wolfs would be great, but 3 hours without them
Ein bisschen Nationalparkfeeling like in USA. Only a parking fee, 4€ per day (2€ from 3 p.m.) The Ur is an impressive story. Good path for a medium walk!
Beautifull “tier park” with animals. Also restaurant is there.
The vistor centre has an excellent indoor play area for children and also the restaurant was above average for this sort of place. The round trip walk from the car park past the lynx and wolves is great for families. The animals have huge enclosures, which means they have lots of places to hide from tourists. We didn't spot any lynx, and only 1 wolf after 15 minutes of watching. Kids had a great time nevertheless as they were entertained by the forest itself.
The park is a wonderful experience. It was very surprising that there were barely any people. In the 5 hours we spent there, we maybe met 20 other people outside. The park is really beautiful, the House of wilderness is modern and has a restaurant, restrooms, even a 3D cinema and many more things in it. Outside you'll be able to see wolves, lynxes and more animals. We went there in winter, and the snow really made this place even more mystic.

(Translated by Google) We were able to celebrate our wedding ceremony in the farmhouse museum and not only we, but also all our guests were thrilled. We can only recommend the location/decor, the food and especially the friendliness and simplicity of the farmhouse team. Absolute recommendation and deserves more than 5 stars 👍🏼 (Original) Wir durften unsere Trauung / Hochzeit im Bauernhausmuseum feiern und nicht nur wir, sondern auch all unsere Gäste waren begeistert. Extremely interesting
(Translated by Google) An absolute must-see! Five stars aren't enough! I give it six stars. A museum created with great care and love, it allows visitors to experience the lives of past generations in great detail, not only through countless enlightening exhibits, but also through audio stations and short film sequences. Volunteers have created something truly amazing here. My absolute recommendation! Meine absulte Empfehlung!
(Translated by Google) A very appealing presentation of interesting topics about everyday farming in a border region characterized by mountain forests. The immediately adjacent coffee shop is also housed in a historic farmhouse. It has a very inviting outdoor area, located directly between the museum buildings and an old chapel. The cake tastes excellent!
