Recreational oceanfront park offering the world's biggest sand dune system & a freshwater sand bar.
Slide 1 of 8
Sandbanks is an absolute gem and easily one of the most stunning beaches in Ontario. The sand is soft and clean, the water is clear and refreshing, and the shoreline seems to stretch forever. It’s the perfect spot whether you want to swim, sunbathe, or just take a relaxing walk along the beach. The dunes are gorgeous and make for great photo opportunities, and there’s plenty of space so it never feels overly cramped, even on busier days. The shallow, gentle waters make it ideal for families, while the wide open views are pure bliss for anyone looking to unwind.
The outlets beach is the most popular, with it's expansive, two-kilometre-long shoreline, soft, white sand and rolling waves, thousands flock here each summer. 750,000 of them, in fact. A day-use-only beach, you're required to book your visit in advance to guarantee entry, but it's worth it. There's a restaurant on site and many washrooms and changing rooms nearby. Plenty of parking but get there early for a good spot.
Sandbanks Provincial Park is an amazing spot for a picnic, a relaxing day at the beach, and swimming. The beach is entirely sandy with no rocks, making it ideal and comfortable for swimming. To enter the park, you’ll need to reserve or register in advance. The park is well-equipped with change rooms, bathrooms, and plenty of parking. There’s also lots of space to sit and relax near the water, whether you’re sunbathing, snacking, or just taking in the view. A perfect getaway for a summer day!
So beautiful. The camp sites are nice. Happy to hear the comfort station is getting an upgrade. Though I’ll doubt they will change the footprint, more stalls are needed. The bathroom is always busy with its proximity to the beach and all the camp sites. The sunsets are gorgeous. We always have a wonderful time here. Highly recommend!
A stunning provincial park. The park itself is quite big. They have two park stores, a few trails and lots of beach space. We only stayed for a day but the campsites looked nice as well. Lots of friendly staff and endless beaches to explore.
Had a beautiful day at Sandbanks today. Made some great memories with family. Playing in the sand and in the water. The water was fantastic! Loads of parking and space on the beach. Highly recommend it if you haven't been.
This was a wow experience, Desert in Ontario and I really mean it, miles of desert around, I went early morning like 9.30 AM, ensure to reserve a day pass from Canada Parks website, the beaches have basic facilities- clean washroom and changing rooms, lot of benches etc, and parking is near to the beaches.
Today was a wonderful day at the Dunes Beach!! Blue sky, clear water, not too busy for a summer Friday, and a positively awesome experience. We have been to Outleat and Lakeshore Beaches in previous years, and even then, this park does not disappoint! Waves can be fun, but wind gusts were only up to 15km/h instead of 40km/h, which made it suitable for paddleboarding on the water. It's about 500 meters from Dunes Trail parking to the shore. However, paddling on the shore is much easier for finding beach space than treading on the deep, hot sand anyway! The beach is so nice and clean despite all the negative fishy news circulating on social media. Be ready for sand, lots of it! We are planning for more trips this summer!

Great place for photos but area is small. Mostly on the way pit stop or on route picnic. Great lookout point ferry nearby to save 30 minutes to reach 401.
Cool to see IF you're already in the area. There are no hiking trails and really, no water access. Don't waste your time paying for parking! You only need a few minutes to view Lake on the Mountain and Lake Ontario! Parking payment was difficult online and the minimum was $3 for 2h. We were there about 15 min! Lol!
Amazing location. Take the ferry to get there - it’s free to ride and is very picturesque. Then buy maple syrup from Veder’s Farm.
A cool park where you can see Lake Ontario and then Lake on the Mountain around 60m above that (you really understand the name when you see it). I’d say it’s probably not worth a long drive but definitely worth a stop if it’s on your way. A new viewing deck is being built currently
Absolutely love this place! Beautiful place to watch the sunset.
Awesome place to go out for a evening dinner with stunning lake view patio. Should visit this place for a peaceful time and good food. I enjoyed my visit a lot.
A geological phenomenon and a nice place to have a meal or hike.
Amazing views on the lake on one side and the channel with the ferry on the other, great food and ambiance

Enjoyed a fantastic tour of PEC wineries and more with Chris. He's super-knowledgeable and a great story teller. Don't be put off by the small number of Google reviews: he's been doing this for a long time and is the real deal. Check out Trip Advisor for more reviews: not at all surprising that every one of his nearly 200 reviews is 5 stars. Glad we went with him rather than one of the big tour outfits: nice working with a one-man show for the personalized experience and the flexibility. Would highly recommend!
We can't recommend Chris and A County Experience enough! The wine tour he organized for us was phenomenal, he included wineries we wanted to try, and added a few of his personal favorites as well. He even added a few stops on the way to show us the county so we could really enjoy our experience. We look forward to returning to PEC so we can do another wine tour with Chris. Thank you Chris, for the amazing day!
If you want the true County wine tour experience than Chis is your guy. He is a wonderfully charming and knowledgeable gentlemen who will give you history, culture and pairing suggestions. He is a former chef who knows the county well and makes the experience one in a million. I would absolutely recommend Chris for a personalized wine tour. He even went above and beyond to even help me get to pay for my car that had broken down and drove us back to the place we were staying. Thanks so much Chris we will remember the stories and the wonderful day we had for a very long time. xoxo the twisted sisters
Chris went above and beyond to give my husband and I (with our three-month old in tow) a unique, educational, and fun tour that took us to remarkable local wineries and businesses "off the beaten path" and beyond what you see on a tour map. He personalized it for us and was incredibly generous with his time, fitting us in last minute for this tour. Following the tour, we ended up spending the remainder of our trip visiting Chris' recommended places. He essentially curated our entire trip and it was one of the most memorable trips in Ontario we've ever had. We highly recommend Chris!
Loved our stay at Grey House on the Pond B&B The host was so sweet and caring and possibly he best cook in the world! Sorry Mom. Our room was very comfortable and overlooked the pond that was magically animated with swans and geese. Julie (the host) had a truffle focaccia waiting for us when we returned late from a wedding in the county and served up the most delicious breakfast of sausages, truffled eggs and limoncello bread pudding and fruit salad with lime cream topping while we sat in a dining room overlooking the pond. We will definitely be returning for this experience 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩

Amazing beach. There is parking right beside the beach. Great amount of space and such a beautiful view. Best to obtain day pass in advance especially during the weekend as the park may be full. The day passes must be displayed on the car and the park office can help to get it printed if bought online.
This is a great little beach. Plenty of spots to swim with the backdrop of the dunes. There is a comfort station, a canteen, a kids play ground and plenty of parking. Great for a day trip - this is the only sandbanks beach that’s open to the public without a park pass. There is a great trail that brings you from the surrounding campgrounds, if you are staying at the park. The dunes are really quite a highlight and very interesting to explore. Really, a natural wonder and a great beach if you have kids. Mostly because the water is very shallow and warm and there is just lots of room for them to explore and play. Catch some great views of Lake Ontario and West Lake
The Dunes are very cool! Lots of places to walk, explore and take some great photos. I'm not too sure about swimming in that body of water, as it has some mossy areas and foam. It also has a pretty quick and steep drop off, from shallow to deep. They warn everyone about that quite frequently with signage and it's pretty obvious when you look in the water. Washrooms were pretty clean, considering the amount of people visiting. You have to check out the Dunes if you are in the area. Out of the 3 main beaches, its Lakeshore #1, The Outlet #2 and The Dunes #3 for me. 👍🏾
Sandbanks Provincial Park exceeded my expectations. The sand dunes are absolutely beautiful and brought back memories of the beaches back home in New England. The combination of soft sand, clear water, and natural beauty makes this a must-visit spot. I do think being here in the shoulder season made it extra special. I’m sure it’s a very different experience in the summer.
Sandbanks dunes is a beautiful place. It's quiet, peaceful and you can hear the birds singing. The trail leads through a forest full of beautiful nature. The view from the dunes is stunning.
Stopped by Sand Dunes beach today. The weather was beautiful and the water was lovely. The beach isn't as nice as the other Sandbanks Provincial Park beaches. It was muckier and not as much room.
Beginning of the season was chilly. Be careful with children and non-swimmers since no lifeguard is present. Warnings included a sudden drop in water depth. Includes several boardwalks as part of the Dunes Trail (which is majority sandy), a play structure for kids and washroom facilities.
Such a beautiful beach! I had a great time there and would definitely love to go again. Highly recommend visiting.

We hit 4 wineries before stopping here and have to say, Barley Days was the highlight of the afternoon. Nothing at all against the wineries (they were all great) but BDs was just that good. Friendly, knowledgeable, helpful service and most of all top notch beer. I would suggest paying them a visit if you've never been by. Recommendation: Oyster stout.
Really laid back and easy to find and visit. Went for drinks and food. Delicious beer and the food truck "Big Mike's BBQ" was amazing. Together it was a perfect match! Bring cash (atm on site though if you are into those). Only negative. Be careful transporting beer purchase. For whatever reason our bottle broke in a really odd spot. See photo.
Dropped in to the brewery while touring the maple in the county with my family. We loved the friendliness of the host and the beers were nice to taste. Very reasonably priced as well. Took a couple beers to take back home as well. Would love to come again.
Barley Days Brewery in my opinion has the best new beer “County Style Pilsner” ( brought to you by their new brew master) of any local brewery in Picton. I also have to say their friendly and knowledgeable staff are amazing. You won’t be disappointed in this brew! Their other tasty beers are also very good and rank on top. Well worth a stop!
Everytime I'm in Picton this is a must stop if you enjoy craft beer. Excellent tasting beer and always consistent in quality. The staff is always very friendly and helpful to help you make the perfect selection. My two favorites are Loyalist Lager and Wind & Sail. All Covid protocols were being observed during our visit.
Very friendly staff! Our tasting guides were extremely knowledgeable of the product and greeted my Fiancé and I with a welcoming smile. This venue was a pleasure to visit and was the highlight of our day. Note that if you wish to tour the brewery you must call ahead. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
One of PEC's best craft breweries. No matter what kind of beer you enjoy, they have something for you.
Excellent beer. Super friendly service. The Oyster Stout is delicious. Great place to pick up a Christmas Gift for the beer lover on your list!

I would give this winery 10 stars if I could. A winery with a cozy atmosphere, welcoming and friendly team. Visited this winery for their snow shoeing adventure. Absolutely amazing. Adam was our guide and was helpful, fun and made sure everyone was having a good time. We snow shoed to the sugar shack where a fire was waiting for us. Kyle and Andrew were ready to serve us wine which was so much fun. Sitting around a fire, tasting wine, having lunch was magical. The wines were so good. We tried the field white, Chardonnay, Rose and then their Big Red. I’m not a red wine drinker but it would’ve been rude not to try it. It was delicious and I even had seconds. 😁 looks like I’m converted. Highly recommend this vineyard. Looking forward to visiting in the summer.
Wonderful experience. We had the signature wine flight and every wine was really good! My mom had the premium and she loved it as well. Megan was very welcoming and sweet during our visit. Would highly recommend the cheese platter to pair with the wines. We came with our toddler and she enjoyed seeing the dog and petting him. Highly recommend bringing your own toys if you have a kid so they're occupied while you enjoy the wine tasting. Outdoor space is wonderful and I can imagine it's super popular during summer. DEFINITELY try the sangria spritz... A delicious summer drink!
Friendly, casual, rural, beautiful rustic winery. The staff are very friendly and efficient. The wines are delicious and the setting is fantastic. And there was love music. ☺️ Definitely add this one to your wine tour. We will be back for sure.
Three Dog Winery is the kind of place that instantly makes you feel at ease. It one of the most laid-back and inviting outdoor settings around. Between the sprawling picnic areas, shaded seating, and surrounding forest trails, it’s easy to spend an entire afternoon here and forget about the rest of the world. The vibe is casual and community-driven—live music on the weekends, wood-fired pizzas, and a family-friendly feel that still manages to be peaceful and scenic. It’s the perfect mix of fun and tranquil. And of course, the star of the show is the dog. Their sweet and friendly pup (true to the winery’s name) adds so much charm. It’s a small detail, but it really reinforces the warmth and personality of the place.
We were the first customers there. Very dog friendly atmosphere. There's a resident fur buddy there who's very friendly and well behaved. We tried the premium wine flight $22. The Riesling stood out as our favourite. The other ones were not our type of wine. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable. The weather was not the greatest it started to rain once we got seated in one of the gazebo tables. There's free water available for guests and their dogs. We also ordered the combination pizza with heirloom tomatoes, mushrooms and bacon bits. The pizza was baked in wood fire oven outside. Overall it was a pleasant visit. I just wish we had better weather.
The absolute best staff, paired with incredible wine! So welcoming, friendly, and helpful. Not to mention, a beautiful back seating area with tons of tables and the perfect music. We had the crisp summer flight which we loved (all 4). But the top of the top was the 2024 Debut Sparking! Thank you so much for having us! We'll 100000% be coming back.
This was our last stop during our self guided wine tour. We live in Kingston so the location was perfect to cover half the distance of our drive home. It was also a great place to have some wood-fired pizzas to finish the day. The smoke of the fire was the first thing I noticed. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. We also discovered their delicious Sangria Spritz, a fruity mix that is really nice to drink with ice.
A place to discover a wide range of wines and other , the pickle pizza is a winner ,live music, friendly staff ,seating g in and outside bonus DOGS are allowed on leash.....a stop to definitely not miss or you will be sorry. Had an awesome time relaxing and discovering TY

Very cute and great for wine tastings! And the closest winery to the downtown. Highly recommend and have great places to taste, walk and eat some pizza
Wines were alright. Highly recommend trying the balsamic wine vinegar and wood fired pizzas. Had the vinegar with their Americiana Pizza and their Aloha Pizza (both had perfect, wood fired crusts).
Absolutely love their vinegars, free tasting and they make the best dressings. Come all the way from Toronto to buy them. We didn’t try their wines this time. Dog friendly patio area.
I’ve been several times now and purchase both wine and their amazing vinegars. It’s my go to place to bring family and friends when visiting PEC. Friendly unpretentious servers with a wealth of knowledge. Wood fired pizza and disc golf available. Lots of seating.
Such a wonderful experience. We tasted the wines and vinegars I have to say. The wines are really good but the vinegars are over the top. Marty and I bought wine and vinegar. Then we had a wonderful fire wood meat lovers pizza. Absolutely delicious. A must place to visit.
The place is quite cute, and they offer a wide variety of pizzas. The pizzas are wood-fired, and there’s even a vineyard behind the restaurant. The staff in the wine area are really friendly. They also have a nice combo — one pizza and one glass of wine for a reasonable price. The pizza takes about 10 minutes to come out. Everything was great. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in PEC.
Two friends and I visited the Black Prince Winery today and had a great experience! We had the pleasure of being served by Evan for our Wine tasting and he made it so fun! He was knowledgeable in the wines and a great conversationalist! We would definitely come back based on our experience today!
We had a small “surprise” wedding at Black Prince. The staff were exceptional at helping us pull it off without a hitch and were incredibly kind & friendly. The wine, vinegar tastings and food were divine! We can’t thank them enough for helping us celebrate our day. 💛 ~Steve & Leslie

Fun, informative, and delicious wine tasting. The lady who did our tasting was just a gem. She was fun, attentive, and provided a lot of interesting information. She answered all our questions and went above and beyond to pair the perfect cheese and wines. It was my first time going, but my friend is a local and loves going here with guests because the experience is always amazing.
Wonderful Vineyard! The cheese & wine pairings were spot on! The prices for tastings very reasonable! Not a very big winery but probably our favorite on this trip!
What a delightful experience! Kimberly and the team were friendly and welcoming, expertly guiding us through tasting their (frankly spectacular) bubbles, whites and reds paired with their own sheep-milk cheeses. The exquisite traditional methode-champenoise sparking wines offered patisserie hints on the nose, with soft and delicate bubbles, fresh and gently citrusy on the palette. The whites were equality accomplished, particularly the generous, pinot gris, with silky and evocative honey and citrus notes. The real surprise were the reds, with a spectacular cab franc & merlot blend - gently peppery with spices and dried fruits on the nose, but fresh and bright on the palette. The cheeses were equally enjoyable, and a perfect accompaniment to the wine. Thank you so much, we'll be back!
Nice and very small vignards. We almost tried everything and fell in love with the cabernet franc and the fence sparkling wine. Recommend visiting it!
The wine tasting was such a good experience, and Kat was so enthusiastic and informative as she explained the wines and the cheeses she paired with them to us. The wines were distinctive, and I especially liked their sparkling variety.
What a lovely experience. The wine was delicious and the cheese was out of this world. And to top it all off Wendy our wine guide was so very warm, welcoming, and knowledgeable.
Lighthall Vineyards is definitely a gem!! Kimberly helped us and gave us lots of great information about the winery, wines & cheeses. We closed the place down on Sunday night. We bought 6 bottles and had to go back the next day as I forgot to buy cheese for my friend. We ended up buying 2 more bottles of the sparkling rose & cheese. We will definitely be returning!
Went on a busy day and while there was a wait to do our tasting, the woman (long hair, I wish I knew her name!) who helped us was incredible and more than made up for it. Really enjoyed the cheese pairings she chose, too. I wish there was seating inside, but they quickly found a chair for me and were accommodating. Will be back!

Parsons Brewing Company is always our first stop when we arrive in Prince Edward County, and for good reason — it’s everything you want in a PEC experience. The setting is charming, welcoming, and quintessentially County, with rustic buildings, wide-open space, and thoughtful touches throughout. The beer is consistently excellent, with a great variety on tap to suit any taste. Whether you're into hop-forward IPAs, crisp lagers, or something more seasonal and creative, they always have something fresh and exciting — which makes it a great place to bring friends with different preferences. The food is delicious. Yes, prices can be on the higher side, but the portion sizes and quality completely justify it. Everything we’ve tried has been well-executed, fresh, and full of flavour — a proper meal, not just an afterthought to the beer. What really sets Parsons apart is how much there is to do year-round. In the winter, the outdoor hockey rink and cozy campfires make it such a fun and unique spot. In the summer, the games and expansive outdoor area create the perfect laid-back vibe. Parsons is more than a brewery — it’s an experience. A must-visit every time!
The place is very beautiful to look and completely instagramable. Good place with cozy vibes but food and drink wise I think it is expensive and quantity of food is quiet less. I see the attraction it has. We had passed it on the way and it was so attractive that we changed out route while driving back so that we could stop here. So maybe a one time experience for sure.
Great wait staff and ambiance. This was our second visit in the evening and it feels magical with the soft patio lights. Definitely a family and dog friendly spot. The brew we chose was pricier than most we had in the County
I would have visited here every weekend if it were close to Toronto. The food was perfect - I literally smiled at my first bite of the burger, and the beers were so good that we ended up buying a few bottles at the shop. Very friendly staff and a nice ambiance, with the firepit to keep you warm. We ended up going here because the other restaurant we originally planned to try was full, but this turned out to be the luckiest thing that happened to us during our trip to Prince Edward County.
Bring your kids and enjoy a bear or two Large selection of bears, a lots of seating areas. Cool play structure for kids with balls and other outdoor game. Perfect for families
Food was amazing. Must try their flights! There are so many fun stuffs outside as well so nice to hang out with family and friends!!
Great beers specially the Mango Lassi beer which was very unique and fruity. The atmosphere is amazing and there is lots of games to play for the kids as well. highly recommended
We had such a great time at Parsons Brewery! 🍻 The beer selection was fantastic — we tried the Mango Lassi beer (yes, you read that right!) and it was surprisingly delicious. We also ordered tacos and empanadas, both super tasty, and the smash burger was absolutely amazing. The place has a great ambience, perfect for hanging out with friends or family, and there are lots of nice spots for pictures around the property too. Definitely a must-visit if you’re in Picton!

This was my favourite wine of all the wineries I went to in PEC. Went for a tasting before heading out on the Sunday and so glad we did! It’s in a quieter area making it a little less accessible but it’s completely worth it. It actually adds to the charm. It has a more intimate and relaxing feel. The owner is funny and charming. His storytelling added a nice touch to the delicious wines we sampled in the tasting. I loved my first sip and somehow the wines kept getting better and better! Can’t wait to go back
What a hidden gem! Definitely worth the drive. The tasting room is a short walk through the aromatic and overgrown vegetation along a stone path. We enjoyed our flight on the Muskoka chairs overlooking the vineyard. The Pinot Gris and Top Dog Pinot Noir were big hits with our group. Visit here!
I have detoured to visit this winery a few times and was never disappointed. Owner is knowledgeable and proud of his wines and terroir, and thus willing to chat about both with people who show interest. I prefer when it is quiet so I can engage in discussing winemaking in the county, an opportunity only available in small wineries. I am not sure what the reviewers giving zero or one star expect, but I’d much rather discuss with the owner who is authentic than with a salesperson.
In my opinion, Long Dog Winery makes the best Pinot Noirs and the best Chardonnays in Prince Edward County. Hands down. They also make a fantastic sparkling Gamay. You'll likely meet Victoria in the tasting room and if you're lucky, James will be around to pull the curtain back on how these incredible wines are made. This is a true County experience, where the wine and the beautiful farm speak for itself. Truly my favourite winery in all of PEC.
We visited Long Dog Vineyard & Winery with friends; did the tasting and i bought Pinot Gris and Pinot Noir, loved them both. Very friendly and good service.
We have been to many wineries in the County. This takes the cake as the worst. The vineyards are overgrown and unkempt. The lady in the tastings was not pleasant and obviously didn’t care if we were there. The Chardonnay was tasteless. We left without buying anything. My glass was dirty. Highly Do not recommend.
Our first visit yesterday and very disappointed. The lady with long curly blond hair working there was clearly not interested in meeting visitors (we were the only ones). The labeling of her wine bottles seemed much more interesting and important. I'm personally a Chardonnay lover and asked what was the difference between their Chardonnay Bella 2016 and 2017 and the Chardonnay Bella Bella 2017 which is quite legitimate as a question... Well, the answer was "Taste it and you'll know it"... Wow, what a response especially when you consider the price of their wines... Oh well, I left without purchasing any bottles and checked on the internet to get the answer. And I won't certainly go back. There are plenty of other places to visit anyway where the hosts/hostesses are much more friendly and enthusiastic to discuss and share their knowledge about their wines...
We visited about 8 different vineyards/wineries in Prince Edward County and Long Dog was by far our favourite. Not only was the wine amazing but the owner was super friendly and the atmosphere was great. Other wineries we visited were crowded, loud and there was no one to really give you info about the wines. But we were the only ones there on a Friday afternoon and it was such a great experience. We were able to try as many wines as we wanted for free if we bought 2 bottles and we ended up buying 4 bottles.

We have heard of this place from fellow campers at a local campsite. So we decided to visit for some ice cream. Portions are enormous for the price compared to many ice cream shops that we've frequented. Cheese choices are plentiful and prices are fairly cheap. Well worth the trip. Staff is friendly and location is following and enforcing Covid-19 protocol.
Nice cheese shop to checkout. Lots of variety of cheeses, handcrafted jams, tarts, fudge and other goodies! You can even get some good deals (30% off) on cheese just because they were the end of the block!
Great selection of cheese and condiments made locally. Also available some knick knacks. Bought some curds which were fresh and squishy. Also a block of cheese. Nice waterfront next to it where families were also fishing. A return trip to the area brought us back here. One of the best places for a selection of cheeses. A must try is the maple one! They also have a variety of condiments some of which came home with me. They also carry many snack foods and munchables. And ice cream! I like to linger outside near the bridge as often see some interesting water fowl.
Beautiful little cheese shop, I can highly recommend the Smoked Gouda, it is so, so good, amazing. I was concerned overhearing a conversation about wether someone's children should be masked. Can only say as long as you and your staff are masked, safe, and following the guidance, if people who patronize your store, choose to risk themselves or their children, let them.
Tasty icecream. Flavourful, refreshing and sweet without being too rich. Both chocolate and orange cream flavors are good. Friendly sales person. The portions are very generous. The small is quite large and was only 4$.
Stopped in today on the way into town to grab some cheese, out first time we’ve been by that the store has been open. My husband tried the Shaw ice cream and was thrilled that it was EXCEPTIONALLY better than Kawartha Dairy which he does not like. They had two non dairy options as well which I will make it my mission to try (dairy allergy). I was happy to find my Pyramid Fermented products. Will be back.
Every kid in PEC grew up on Black Creek cheese, especially the curds. (Best when warm and squeaky.) The cheese was basically the same as it had been since the early 1900s. The medium cheddar was better than 99% of the old cheddar you find now. But ever since the fire in 2001, when they lost their starter, it's basically an ice cream shop that sells OK cheese and other people's baking. I believe it's owned by some megacorp now. Sad for a place that historically had so many cheese factories. There were five on Royal Street alone 100 years ago. Good place for a cone if you're out that way. Pre-fire curds (May, 2001) picture below.
Really enjoyed my experience, good service, cheese not too expensive and very good. They have the halloumi cheese that can be used on bbq or hot stone (raclette). Bonus, they have the kawartha ice cream at a very low price, ask to have it in a cup (not cone) and you will the biggest genereous portion you'll ever see

Exultet Estates for me I feel is one of the best wineries if not the best. The wines they produce year in year out are superb. The vintner is great to chat with and very knowledgeable. Highly recommended!
Privately owned, we loved this one. The owners are kind and knowledgeable, and their wine is really very well made, super smooth and a great price. It was my favourite wineries of the day because of the family feel and the love they put in.
The winery is family-run and experience of wine-tasting with the owner is very educative and personal. She gave us excellent advice on which wines we should try and buy. We were very impressed with their pinot noirs, and I loved the fortified wine they have created. They had apple and orange wines that are very unusual, as well.
Intimate with a unique history, this Vinyard will hold a special place in our hearts as wine lovers. Remarkable wines made by kind people, dedicated to the art with local pride.
We had a quite unique experience at Exultet Estates. Great hospitality, excellent variety of domestic wines, deep knowledge of wine producing and time to share it with their customers. Will definitely be back.
Amazing winery, we came here on a Sunday and Gerry the owner spent over 1 hour talking to us about his wines and shared his passion. The wines here are probably the best of all the Prince Edward County and on european standards. Extremely impressive! We were recommended this winery by a wine bar in Kingston and loved it. If you are looking for an amazing tasting and experience, this is the place to go.
Lovely family-run winery with a very informative tasting offered. We cycled there for a tasting and drove back the next day to purchase a couple bottles of our favourites, and strolled through the grounds with a glass of wine to top it off. Glorious!
Wonderful wines and a lovely quiet property! Absolutely charming!

What a lovely, local spot. It has no white sand and is quite rough, so dont go there is you want to have a beach day. Its more a local spot that is really quiet and has some lovely scenic spots if you dont plan on swimming.
Definitely a not-to-be-missed serenity spot if you want to get away from crowdedness of sandsbank. Fantastic view. However, the road (actually it's a small trail) to get there is easy to miss (no sign) and bumpy (not maintained at all).
No road access or parking lot, not accessible. Beautiful views once you get to shoreline. Very restricted area so not much you can do there. Beautiful point for a picnic on the rocks or a quick swim.
If you have an ATV or 4x4 this is a beautiful spot! Been here many times, it’s always 1 of my must-see’s when I’m in the area! (Difficult to reach by regular car, bit of a hike on foot)
Great time and picturesque views! Highly recommended and tucked away for only a few to find. Accessible by car but roads are a bit tight. You can also park about 5 min away and walk down those same roads using one of several paths leading to the water. Only one warning is that younger kids should be watched carefully with many big rocks in and out of waters. A must see and great picnic spot!
It’s ok. But access is hard as you need to park on road and hike in there around the lakes of water ! I made the mistake of driving in, and it scratched the hell out of my truck😩 You can see better sites at Lakeshore lodge area. Similar rocks but better !
A slightly rocky and slippery beach, but beautiful views of the lake and lighthouse.
Great spot and far less crowded then other places.

Had parked at lot beside Macaulay Heritage Park (church/house) and walked about 15m to see Birdhouse City. There is a pond and we did a small hike around that. Very well-maintained and lots of dog walkers. Will go back to explore more!
Very scenic and enjoyable ! The Macaulay Mountain Conservation Area sports around 20 square acres of forest and trail. Its very easy to navigate as there is a clear path through it. There are several "resting spots" with benches . Strongly recommend a visit, and its right beside town!
This was such a beautiful place with several trails to hike. The main trail took us about an hour and a half to complete and it was fairly easy. You do have to watch out for a steep hill you need to go up at the beginning but after that, you’ll come across such beautiful forests. Parking is $5 paid online and when we went, there weren’t that many people. Perfect place to go on a peaceful hike.
What a beautiful spot! Very picturesque. It has plenty of varieties of trees (hemlock, black walnut, etc.) and foliage along the different trails, some of which are flat, and some which go up the mountain. It is well groomed with an area along some water as well. This area has ticks so make sure you check yourself and your pets when leaving. 👍
Went for a hike here. Super pretty. I’m not sure which trail I did, but I don’t think it was marked. Sorry, I went with friends who know the trails. It was gorg. Terrain was moderate with inclines and declines that were a little sketch with the ice. Kid wasn’t afraid, but was sliding around. Dog loved it. Great winter hike. Will go back.
Wow! Totally beat all our expectations. We didn't manage to do all of the trails, but the ones we did were incredible, especially the yellow trail. For us, this was an even better park than Sandbanks, overall.
Beautiful trails. Maps a bit confusing but other than that it was a tremendous experience. Wish we had had time to go for longer walks and experience more of the park.
This is a tiny location to visit, but it has a great cafe with a view, and one or two nice old buildings to photograph. The cafe patio has a view overlooking the river below: quite a panorama...probably makes it worth a quick stop. There are a few historic plaques to read nearby.

My son and I went for a high noon ride at Diamond J Ranch this afternoon. This experience was so amazing, from the people and the horses, to the trails and the beautiful autumn weather, it was magnificent. Flo was extremely friendly and informative when I called to book our ride and Irene, our guide, was also super friendly and gave us such a relaxing and intimate adventure. It was the best time I’ve had in a long time. We are not experienced riders but we both felt comfortable and completely safe with our new friends Skydancer and Peanut. We were able to meet the other members and the owner and we were thrilled to engage with them and offer snacks to our friends after the ride. I highly recommend the Diamond J Ranch 10/10. We will definitely be visiting them again! Thank you so much for making this day possible! Happy trails until we meet again!! 🤠
Fabulous experience at the ranch, very friendly people, beautiful animals. Absolutely amazing fall trail ride with Irene. 10/10. I’ll be thinking about Skydancer and Peanut for a long while. From an inexperienced rider, Thank you.
Overall I had a very positive experience. First, I came with kids for a pony ride, owners were very nice and it seems like horses are in a very caring hands. I came back for a mountain ride, which was 1 hour long. The ride was enjoyable, we went through the woods and up the mountain, spotted a deer. I gave 4 stars only because the website suggested that they accommodate riders of all levels, but in fact, the ride was a slow walk. Still a great experience!
Beautiful 1hr trail ride through the woods with Flo as our trail guide. Felt very comfortable on the horse. Can tell the owner cares about his horses, they look very well taken care of.
Absolutely amazing experience! Emma was a great trail lead, made me feel comfortable (as a first time rider) and offered lovely chat as we took our 1-1.5hr ride through the woods and trails. This was a birthday surprise for me and it couldn’t have been better! Very “real” people, and the owners are so kind. They met us at the end to help us off the horses. I’m forever in love with Fern and Peanut
My sister and I went for an hour trail ride here. It was an amazing experience! Everyone was super friendly and made sure that we knew what we were doing (as we haven't ridden in a few years) and they made sure that we were comfortable every step of the way. They also provide pony rides for children! All around this is a great place to visit with friendly, attentive and knowledgeable staff!
This was the highlight of our trip to PEC. It’s a really lovely place to ride - clean, horses and ponies seem well looked after and happy, and the staff were friendly and enthusiastic. Plus the ranch has a really quirky and cool vibe to it. Our kids (3 and 5) split a 30 minute ride between them for $40 and absolutely loved it. Make sure you take cash as they don’t accept card payment. I look forward to going back and taking a trail ride myself.
A real cowboy Jack manages his stable of horses with love . Horses are well mannered, healthy and happy . I’d go back anytime .
