Nature & Parks
Preserve with a boardwalk leading to a lookout, plus a butterfly garden & tanks with sea turtles.
Slide 1 of 8
Stopped here with my boyfriend during our week-long Florida vacation; never been to such an interesting nature center with no entrance fee. Eels, adult sea turtles, rays, and many different fish in outdoor tanks; seahorses and baby sea turtles in the indoor lab (which is pretty small). If I had the one of these nearby I’d go all the time.
This was one of our favorite things we did in our entire vacation. We had a blast looking at the awesome spiders. A whole lot to see. Great views. Kid friendly. Free to get in but please donate it helps they so very much!!! Front desk was SUPER helpful and everyone on the staff was friendly and courteous. Definitely can't wait to bring all my children to experience the fun 😊
This nature center by far is a must-visit! The staff are above and beyond helpful, friendly, knowledgeable and hospitable. The aquatic life is fascinating along with the free roaming turtles and butterfly garden. There is a room that is used to assist infant turtles in their growth as well as starfish and seahorse viewings. The nature trails are so peaceful with a variety of different walks to complete (you choose how long you want to walk/which paths, if not all). There is a viewing area to see the entire grounds that is accessible by wheelchair/strollers as well as stairs if you prefer. This nature center offers educational classes and events throughout the month. What strikes me as unbelievable is Gumbo Limbo is FREE. They do accept donations-I would recommend at least $10.
Parking is difficult on weekends, not many spaces. Go early. Free entrance, donation appreciated. Nice boardwalk trail through the mangroves to observation tower. Wheelchair friendly ramp to get you to the top. Beautiful aquatic displays, large fish and turtles. Overview of the FAU turtle nursery. Relaxing walk through the butterfly garden. Take repellent for this part, lot is warnings of mosquitoes. Great for kids and anyone into nature.
An awesome day at Gumbo Limbo!! It was overcast with a light breeze most of the time, muggy for the rest. LOTS of spiders!! 😎 We saw a lot of crabs, birds, fish, a Kemp Ridley sea turtle, butterflies, and 2 Gopher Tortoises. FAU has a marine science laboratory there, that was interesting to watch the students work, they also had a few tanks in there with starfish and seahorses. The Tower is nice for viewing the surrounding area. Boardwalks were ready to navigate. No admission price, but donations are accepted and very much appreciated.
Beautiful place where you can take a walk and learn a lot of things. Also, you can see a lot of different species. The staff were very kind and helpful. Everything was well organised.
Really great activity to do in the Boca area. Lots of cool stuff to see. Although the spiders in the paths in the woods were a little to low/close to my liking lol.
We love this place! Super well kept. The staff are very friendly and its so nice to see FAU students getting involved and doing research there. Marianne is super friendly and helpful and she gave my son lots of attention. Make sure you check out the classroom with the snakes and choose a cool seashell on the way out! We will be back! We hope they reopen the turtle hospital soon!

Slide 1 of 8
I lived in Boca for 30+years.. This was one of my favorite places to go. We usually ate at Yard House and always found the food to be decent. Pretty good presence of police at Mizner. I have to say somewhat justifiable on some nights. Shopping at the stores is not cheap, but I can only imagine what the rent is for space there. All in all a great destination.
Absolutely love Mizner Park! It is absolutely delightful at any time of day. It is lovely to walk around in the morning and enjoy a coffee or smoothie outside or enjoy a late night out in the town at one of the many popular restaurants. There are plenty of cultural events that take place throughout the year that are family friendly and fun for all to enjoy. There are the big staple restaurants as well as smaller cafes and little shops. There is always a good time to be had at Mizner Park. We love it here! 🤩
Great place to walk around as the sun sets, lots of dinning options, nice happy hour spots for appetizers and drinks . Some days bring in an influx of exotic cars and most days a crowd of beautiful people. Occasional organized events and decorations to suite the season
Very upscale shopping area with numerous restaurants and stores to shop or just browse in. Be prepared to pay top dollar for your purchases though. This is not your local target shopping
Great city, I would love to live there. :)
Boca Raton is probably a very quality and neat place to stay, but for shorter visits, apart from the beautiful Atlantic coastline, it is quite boring. The same goes for Mizner Park, nothing special to see. And it is not a real shopping mall but rather a smaller type retail park.
Mid afternoon is easy parking. Evenings are more difficult. The parking garage is probably the best bet. Very nice atmosphere. Lots of shops and restaurants. The museum of modern art is wonderful. The ampetheator has very nice events. Just a nice place to visit
This is one of my favorite places to spend some time with your loved ones or alone! There are many restaurants and stores, and the area looks beautiful! We ate at Max's Grille and the food was excellent, and the waiter was very polite and professional.

This park has it all! 2 huge playgrounds, a splash pad, baseball and basketball fields, a carrusel, picnic tables, a theater and a small museum. Parking is free. It's awesome. Follow me on Instagram as @divine.southflorida for more recommendations like this, Hanna 🫶
This park is great to spend a couple of hours here without spending much or any money. The playground is huge with lots of levels and varying age appropriate areas. The carousel is for everyone and it’s 1$ per person if you get a token from the machines close by. One adult can accompany a child but you cannot ride , if you also want to ride/sit in the carousel you gotta get a token for yourself. The science center inside is super interactive and there are two rooms full of science stuff for the kids to play with. Kids of all ages will love all of the installations inside. If you walk around in the halls you will also find a small reading area with some chairs and children’s books. Some days there’s an ice cream truck that sells all ice creams for 3$ each. I did not like the splash pad area and did not allow my kid to get in it. It’s very small and the water does not drain. It’s just a big puddle sitting there and the kids splash and play in it and I found that lack of circulation gross.
Amazing place for kids! Sugar Sand Park is huge — with lots of slides, swings, museums, and even a carousel. There are splash pads and water sprinklers — the kids absolutely loved it! The museum inside the park changes its theme regularly, and right now it’s all about space — super fun and educational. Entrance is completely free, which is such a nice bonus. Perfect spot for a family day out, we’ll definitely be back! 💫👨‍👩‍👧‍👧
What a wonderful surprise! We're staying in a nearby Marriott and wanted to go for a walk. We foun this park, and have fallen in love! Such cute child/family friendly activities, and over 130 acres! Well kept and designed. A wonderful escape to nature.
The park is fantastic! There are so many activities to enjoy, including splash pads, a carousel, a science museum, a massive playground, and much more. We always have a great time when we visit! Everything is free, except for the carousel, which is just $1 per ride. Parking is convenient, and the park is very clean and well-maintained. Highly recommend for a fun day out!
Great park for kids! It’s really well designed play areas from swings to water splash area, and a Carousel…the play area are fenced in and the park fells very safe for kids to play in. There is even a large building with fun games to play inside., on hot or rainy days. The park is well maintained and clean.
Beautiful park! Kids always have a blast. So much for them to do and keep them entertained for hours. + the indoor museum is fantastic along with the private spaces you can rent. We just did an outside movie night, where we set up a big screen, movie theater, popcorn, machine, candy section and blow up chairs for 60. The park was very accommodating and everybody had a great time. This park is always well-maintained and very clean. They also have basketball courts along with an outdoor roller rink. You won’t run out of things to do! Occasionally, you might see some random wildlife enjoying themselves as well. We ran into a family of raccoons.
Great playground for the kids. Its very large and will keep them occupied. However I noticed a lot of spider webs and that scared my kid a little.

Warning: This was supposed to be a quick stop… we left 3 hours later. Worth it. On our drive from Miami to Orlando, we made a “quick” detour at the Town Center at Boca Raton—you know, just to stretch our legs and maybe grab a snack. Three shopping bags and one unexpected latte later… we were still there. This mall is a trap (the good kind). First of all, this place is beautifully clean, well air-conditioned, and just the right mix of fancy and familiar. You’ve got your luxury brands for window shopping (hello, Louis Vuitton 👀), your everyday faves (Zara, Apple, Sephora), and a great food court that kept everyone—from adults to kids—happy and fueled. We weren’t even planning to shop, but suddenly we were doing full wardrobe upgrades. That’s the magic of this place. It whispers, “Just one quick look,” and the next thing you know, you're debating whether you need a second pair of sneakers (spoiler: yes, you do). The bathrooms were super clean, which earns serious bonus points for a road trip stop. And there’s plenty of parking—so no stress when you pull in with road trip brain. In short: great stores, cool vibes, friendly staff, and enough variety to entertain everyone. Just don’t come here thinking it’s a “quick break”—this mall has other plans for you.
Town Center Boca Raton truly impressed me! It has absolutely nothing to envy from Aventura or Sawgrass. This mall is incredible — very well organized with an excellent variety of stores, from well-known brands to more exclusive options. Everything is spotless, the atmosphere is pleasant, and you can tell it’s well maintained. It’s also much more comfortable to walk around without the overwhelming crowds of larger malls. Perfect for spending the day, shopping at your own pace, and enjoying a high-quality experience. I highly recommend it!
Noticing the drop-off valet should have given me the heads up on what kind of mall the Town Center at Boca Raton was. The eateries and shopping experiences offered here are: * Apparels: men's, women's, children's, athletic, beachwear * Eyecare/eyewear/jewelry * Health & beauty stores * Food court/restaurants * Department & designer stores, and many more I could literally feel my wallet tighten up as I walked through this huge, ritzy mall. Depending on where you shop, the prices can range from moderate to pricey. I walked into a few clothing stores looking for rompers, but I didn't see anything I liked. I had an interesting browsing experience, but honestly I don't see myself coming here frequently.
I always have a great experience at Town Center Boca. The mall is beautifully maintained, offers a fantastic variety of stores, and the customer service throughout is consistently excellent. Whether I’m shopping, dining, or just strolling, everything feels clean, safe, and well-organized. It’s truly one of the best shopping destinations in South Florida.
The best spot ever! There is a huge pool and yard for the dogs to run or swim or both. This space is also accommodating to humans and offer tons of shade. Highly recommend this spot for a doggy playtime, party, play or swim!
It's a very nice mall. A lot of the stores I had not heard of. Plenty of places to sit and relax. Very clean, plenty of parking
Town center is awesome and fun to shop at. Food there are great and has many options. Nice place to hang out with your friends or family. It has everything for shopping and food. It would have been better if they have a theater nearby. Parking is sufficient even in a busy day but you need to find one in a while sometimes. Walking is not a good idea even if you live nearby
It’s set up with furniture you find in your home but there is not enough seating on a Saturday. Also there needs to be truck stations like Ralph’s for coffee tea etc. to make the mall more shopping friendly. Of course this isn’t like that barn at AVENTURA

$35 for parking (they give 50% off for military discount). It was well worth it because you can enjoy a quieter beach. The beach and the restrooms were clean. Parking was plenty. However, dogs, smoking, and alcohol are not allowed. The water wasn't deep. We had a very good experience here.
Great park, mostly locals because it’s a bit pricey for tourists. Lots of space to have picnics and grill outs! There are playgrounds and bathrooms, all the necessary requirements. Perfect spot to relax on a Sunday morning.
Our favorite ⛱️ beach we go at least once or twice a week, more when time allows. Beautiful park.. too bad the artificial reef is no longer, as it was amazing to be able to snorkel right off the beach. The weather and waves are creative havoc and still the park is perfect and the natural dunes help to protect Boca.
Red Reef Park in Boca Raton is a great spot! You can enjoy the beach, go for a swim, and even have a BBQ in the picnic areas. However, it's mainly for Boca Raton residents who can purchase an annual pass. For non-residents, the entrance fee is around $30–$50 per day — so it’s up to you to decide if it’s worth it.
Cool park, with showers and clean toilets. There is a children's playground and picnic areas. The sand is clean. You can watch small crabs on the reef. I recommend visiting.
This beautiful park has a path through the mangos and palm trees. Mostly shaded and very nice.
Upsides: far less seaweed than Pompano or even Deerfield. Lifeguards, beautiful boardwalk, bathrooms, chairs/umbrellas for rent. Hourly park across the street. Downside: parking onsite is flat $35 for the day. Very lil to break the waves, so the water is rough.
We went on a Saturday afternoon. I was surprised it is $50 to park at the parking the lot across the street was full. The waves were too rough for snorkeling that day but here is the map of the reef though we could not get out to it. We walked the boardwalk and trail and picnic areas all were absolutely beautiful.

If you live in Boca Raton and say you haven't been here, you'll make me sad :) It's a wonderful, wonderful park. Whether you're going for a walk, visiting the park, or having a picnic... come for whatever reason, but definitely come.
This is a wonderful park and it's completely underutilized. In addition to being a great park with barbecues and facilities for larger groups it also is on the intercoastal as well as the ocean and you have access to lunch kayaks or like right from the park. Is well taken care of and also serves as a parking area to be able to go underneath A1A and go to the dog beach which is through a tunnel without traffic to the other side.
Great park!! Grills for BBQ , and plenty of shade for those hot days. Under road entrance to the beach, with showers and clean bathrooms.
Beautiful park and beach. The water I very clear. The park has grills and picnic tables.
Spanish River Park is a beautiful place to enjoy nature, walk among trees, and relax by the ocean. The grounds are well-maintained, with picnic areas, shaded spots, and direct beach access. It’s perfect for families, outdoor activities, or simply unwinding. It’s best to arrive early since parking can fill up quickly. Overall, a very pleasant and well-kept park.
Always beautiful and relatively quiet. Clean bathrooms and shower areas. Gorgeous beach with ample parking. Cost has gone up to $35 per car. One of our favorite beaches in south Florida.
The scenery is spectacular. Very clean as well
We love taking our dog to Bark Park. The only downside is the parking.

I have had the pleasure of coming twice to this theater and experience a great performance and experience on both sides occasions . The staff were so gracious and all so friendly and even had dinner at the restaurant. I highly recommend coming to the Restautant before a show it’s the complete package ! From the beginning to end , when we were seated to our sever (Judy ) she was so kind and helpful and made the dinner even more memorable. The food was outstanding and the presentation was first class I would give this entire experience 100 stars if I could . We had the pleasure of meeting and chatting with the Lucy impersonator (Aaron ) who was cherry on top of the cupcake for us . She was phenomenal and first class act ! I’ve seen her perform here and prior and was very impressed with all her talent . Also would like to commend Barbara Wick for how dedicated she is to her business , I’ve watched her walk around and greet people and Check everyone like they were at her house personally and wanted to make sure everyone was having a good time and pleased . I’ve told everyone about my experiences here and can’t wait to come back very soon again . I hope this is seen and All are recognized . Sincerely Mark Morrison
Today we went to The Wick and got a backstage look at everything. We saw some of their very vintage costume collection - including their reconstructed costumes from The original Titanic play. Very interesting and informative. We also got to appear onstage (of course there was no audience) and see everything behind the scene - also very interesting. Now I can say I have appeared center stage at The Wick - and it's true. We also had a very nice catered lunch. We were entertained by Zachary K whose singing and MC talents were very Frank Sinatra"esque". Following the dulcet tones of Zachary K was a very wonderful Sophie. At 15 she had an amazing quality to her voice coupled with facial expressions that told the story of the song she was singing. Then there was Sarin (I hope I spelled her name correctly). She had a magnificent operatic quality voice. It was a wonderful few hours. If you have a special event (wedding, business event, organizational meeting, etc) this is a wonderful venue worth looking into.
I love theatre, live theatre and music. The Wick is touted as the "best" regional around but I think it is more the best in making money, rather than best in quality. We saw a wonderful production of No, No Nanette, with ticket prices in the $130s, and they used recorded music. There were very good and excellent performances and costumes, but mediocre music interpretations with a track...ugh! Last night we saw the iconic The Fantasticks, and the set was interesting, and the performances were lackluster, our of tune and out of range singing and acting. Such a drag. Last year, we saw Bridges of Madison County at the Delray Playhouse, and it was stellar in every way....live orchestra, excellent singing and acting, great direction and staging...probably the best show of all the local theaters, and under $50 a ticket. The Lake Worth theatre was also better than ths Wick. I'll give The Wick one more production, and if it is again at this sub par quality, yet premium prices, I won't go back.
Didn't realize how nice, beautiful even, this place is. Theater for live shows. Nice open lobby area that was almost cozy. Adjacent resturant...may try next time we catch a show here. Hidden jewel and worth drive from west palm beach.
Excellent, not a bad seat in the entire theatre. We saw Carousel and it was very well done. The cast was an excellent, what an incredible group of talented performers. If you're on an end, prepare to stand up for those in the middle as aisles are not terribly wide. But seats are quite comfortable, and hand rails abound. Food, drinks including soda, water, beer, and wine are available for purchase. Get there early to secure a seat in the lobby for a pleasant visit with other theatre goers. Enjoy!
Lovely small live theater with almost a homey feel! I visited over the Holidays to see Cinderella! It was wonderful! I highly recommend ! Valet parking for shows. There is a whole season of shows with a restaurant on site but I did not eat there. There is a costume museum which I will check out soon!
First time at the Wick Theater to see West Side Story just last night. Absolutely fabulous!! Then in addition to the play we had a cabaret after the show which was an added bonus. Also deserving was the piano player who was fantastic. Thank you all for the wonderful experience.
Had a lovely time at the museum...such a wonderful selection of significant garments from the past. The restaurant served an elegant and delicious luncheon. The staff and service was exceptional. A very special and unique place in Boca Raton. I was really impressed with the museum and theater and learnt quite a bit from the knowledgable staff. This is a special place I will definitely be returning to again and again.

First visit here. Came for the Boca Bowl. Great game. Very nice facility. Will have to visit again.
Very loud and feel vibrations in end zone by giant TV. They had free water and cooling fans on ground floor. Nice stadium. Disappointing not a lot of people at game. Outside stadium, was sooooo full of students, fans, tailgaters before game. Seemed like most of them didn't go to the actual game. Very festive. Many fight songs. Band was little but great. FAU football team kicked butt big time!!! Cheer squads were very enthusiastic.
My Boys enjoyed this place although we got rained out. The parking was a little confusing, but we made it. Great game!
FAU Stadium is home to the Boca Bowl! Great views from most seats, but food options are limited and pricey. Parking can be a hassle, especially for high-profile games, so plan to arrive early. Overall, FAU Stadium offers a great college football experience with a few minor drawbacks.
We were invited as guests for the business education alumni (because of a 3-day leadership class I had attended). We also were invited to and attended a family-friendly tailgate party! We had a great time! Thank you, FAU! Go owls 🙂
Of all the college football stadiums in Florida, this may be the best. Only the colleges that play in NFL stadiums (USF, Miami) have better gametime facilities for their home games. We visited here for the Boca Raton Bowl game and were impressed with Howard Schnellenberger field at FAU. Sideline seating was on benches with backrests and chairback seats, not bleachers. The structure was solid and didn't shake when fans stomped around. It was easy to move around and get to concession and rest room areas. My critique was that parking was disorganized and crowd control at the gate was lacking. Also concession lines were very long and beverages ran out by halftime.... No beer, then no bottled water. Thankfully it was a night game in December and there were no dehydration problems.
Experienced this stadium via attendance to a bowl game. Parking was easy across the street. Entrances were plentiful and staff was great. Only clear bags allowed like most sports venues and no umbrellas. Sat on 50 yard line but I don't really think there is a bad seat in the house as it is a smaller stadium. Don't get the pizza..
The home of the FAU Owls on the north end of Florida Atlantic University holds 30000 fans. The stadium boasts state of the art equipment and grounds. Every year the Boca Raton Bowl is played here. This year USF and Syracuse played. A premier lounge sponsored by Acura is located on the top floor. Plenty of Big screen TVs, free food and soft drinks and a cash bar. There’s also a nice view of the field from the windows.

Beautiful inlet & park l!!! Lots of cyclist stop here because it's peaceful and stunning. There are a few benches. Some people bring their beach chairs & blankets. You can stay here for hours. It's high season and it's not as crowded as the beach. Great place to read a book or meditate.
My absolute favorite beach in the area. Parking is cheap compared to the other beaches and it’s always well maintained. Would definitely recommend to someone trying to find a new beach in the area
Beautiful park & beach. People can fish on the inlet. Sand on the beach was soft. It is fun watching the boats in/out the inlet. Picnic tables grills for the cookout. Really nice park. Only complaint is parking fills up really quick!
Take your morning walk and then come back and swim here. My advice: You can watch the fisherman from the beach, or you can be one of them. :) There's a playground for children. There are clean restrooms. The beach is getting more crowded every day. Homeless people have taken over the parking lots. It can get a little boring. It would be great if there was a great cafe here.
Incredible sunrises. Very peaceful. There are grills to cook and benches to sit and admire the vastness of the ocean. Trash cans around.
A small park with good paid parking. It has two different parts to the park; a beach that is very small depending on the tide level and a large grass area with park benches. Short boardwalks take you from the parking lot to the beach. There is a small playground for children and a large pavilion that says “This is a reserved pavilion area, please use beach access.” A few people were in the pavilion so I guess it’s fine to use as long as it’s not reserved for a private group when you are there. This is the northern end of the beach so you could walk down the beach as far as you want to go and the beach will get larger further down. The waves were large and it’s fun watching boats going into and out of the inlet through the surf.
Beautiful location. I'm dying to go fishing there !!!
Wonderful bit of beach. It is one of the less crowded spots, with parking just like outside. Has a pavilion, playground, and grills. Parking is $3 on weekdays, and $4 per hour on weekends. There are approximately ~50 spots, but they fill fast. They only accept credit, and only Visa, Discovery, and MasterCard.

Great way to entrain the kids. Driving is about 45 mins for me but it’s definitely worth it. Saturday we were there from 10-1pm my kids had fun. Weather was perfect, there was a lot of people but enough space so we can play and enjoy without feeling crowded. Big slides were fun, lazy river not crowded, 4ft pool has a decent size and the playground for the little ones has a lot of options(just be careful is a lot of water falling and it could be overwhelming for little ones and babies). They sell snacks but no hot food, bring your own or order DoorDash like we did, also you cannot use your own floats.
I came on 06.20.2025. Incredible crowd, noise, commotion.. All summer camps are here. Thousands of children together. Headache guaranteed. 🙈😂 Kids are generally having fun. However, many parts of the water parks should have been renovated before the season. They look very old. Toilets are very dirty!!! It is important to have a lifeguard in every playground. The entrance is very expensive but you can buy a season ticket and enjoy it all summer long.
We went to Coconut Cove Waterpark for a birthday party and were pleasantly surprised. The Lazy River was really good, nice and long with plenty of tubes, and the girls had a blast. We went on the two slides and they were a lot of fun. The splash pad and other play areas were popular with the younger kids. Overall we had a great time and could definitely see ourselves bringing the girls back for a few hours.
For a regional park it was really great. Went on a Sunday, plenty of chairs, large umbrellas & fun for all ages. Very well staffed, life guards really pay attention. Shallow wade areas for toddlers & small slides. The lazy river is the highlight.
I went to this water park two Sunday’s ago. While we were there a little boy fell into the big pool and must have hit his head because the lifeguard had to preform CPR on him. I have to give these lifeguards major major respect and appreciation for their quickness in rescuing this little boy. They had him out of the water and breathing again before most of us even knew what was going on. This was our first time bringing our youngest here and we will definitely be coming back. I have so much respect for the training and care these lifeguards showed that day. And keep in mind most if not all of the lifeguards are just kids themselves. I was so impressed I had to give them a shout out. Great job guys and thank you for keeping our babies safe while they are having fun!!!
1st time coming to Coconut Cove and we had an amazing day. We went over six times through the lazy river. It was not crowded at all. The prize for the adults was very reasonable. It was a great time after all and everyone enjoyed their time.
We have a lot of fun at this small water park, but i was disappointed with a few things. We spent 3 hours here with a 3 year old, battling the camp crowds. As other reviews mentioned, I wish the bathrooms would be redone and cleaned better. It’s very gross, smell and sight wise. Also, there were chips of paint from the water structures floating in the splash area. The bottom of the pools felt very gritty and had dirt/sand. Surprisingly there was a lot of garbage around the water park area (wrappers, used bandaids, hair ties) as well as the parking lot (um, a used tampon!). The whole park definitely needs a refresh (including the chairs). The park was overcrowded with camps and little kids were getting trampled. FYI no swim masks, no pool toys allowed. Life guards are strict and constantly blowing whistles. The concession stand only has snacks , not hot food. Plan to order food for delivery or bring your own. We love coming here but hopefully management addresses some of these common issues people are mentioning.
Great place to take the kids! Very affordable and fun. They have something for everyone. Definitely coming back.

South Beach, Boca Raton: A Relaxing Beach Escape South Beach in Boca Raton offers a wonderful, less crowded beach experience, perfect for families and those seeking a tranquil escape. I recently visited and was impressed by the relaxed atmosphere, especially in the evenings. It's a fantastic spot to catch a breathtaking sunset over the ocean. During my visit, I even spotted a few beach jellyfish, adding a bit of natural wonder to the experience (though it's always good to be mindful of marine life). The beach is also ideal for a leisurely evening stroll, making it a great place to unwind after a long day. If you're looking for a beautiful, not-overly-packed beach in Boca Raton, South Beach is definitely worth checking out. Ciao🌺
South Beach Park is a fantastic spot for anyone looking to enjoy a relaxing day by the ocean. The beach itself is clean, well-maintained, and offers stunning views of the coastline. The soft sand and clear waters make it a great place for sunbathing, swimming, or just taking a peaceful walk along the shore. The waves here are often gentle, making it a good spot for casual swimmers and those who just want to dip their toes in the ocean. If you're a nature lover, you’ll appreciate the surrounding greenery and occasional sightings of local wildlife.
South Point Beach in Boca Raton delivers. Clean, spacious sands, and water so clear it practically sends a thank-you note. I hit it midweek—no crowds, plenty of room to spread out and actually relax (amen). The beach amenities are practical: decent parking (though it fills fast on weekends), nice showers, and clean restrooms. Bonus: the lifeguard is 10/10—attentive and even friendly. Would I drive the extra mile? Yep. It’s a quality over quantity situation: fewer people, better vibes, and a real sense of calm. Only downside: snacks and shade are limited—pack your own gear and refreshments.
This beach is a true gem, boasting pristine shores and a breathtaking view that never fails to inspire. I find solace in visiting this haven to bask in the sun and connect with the ocean's beauty. While I opt to swim at home due to concerns about public water quality, this beach's serenity is a powerful antidote to stress. Its popularity is a testament to its allure, and the presence of law enforcement on weekends ensures a safe and enjoyable experience for all. Paid parking is a small price to pay for the privilege of visiting this incredible destination. I've encountered so many kind-hearted individuals here. When they saw me taking selfies, they generously offered to take the photos for me, showcasing the profound impact of human compassion. Boca beach is the ultimate weekend escape, bursting with exciting possibilities and promise. This beach holds a special place in my heart, it's my top choice for an unforgettable experience and a great time. The beach water is utterly captivating. The rhythmic sound of the waves is truly exhilarating. The sand is incredibly pristine and visually stunning. For your peace of mind, a lifeguard is always on duty to ensure a safe experience.
Had beautiful day at the beach. Weather was perfect.
Perfect for a weekend getaway. This beach has crystal clear water 🫶
South Beach Park in Boca Raton is such a clean and quiet spot—perfect for relaxing and enjoying the ocean. The beach is always clean, peaceful, and never feels overcrowded. A great place to unwind, take a walk, or spend a calm day by the water. Highly recommend!
This is a great spot to go for a walk, tan, or get in the ocean. I came on a Monday midday and it wasn’t very busy. It was a nice walk all the way up to red reef. I enjoyed watching the surfers.

We were just here on a Field Trip with Sandpiper Shores Elm. The presentation in the class style room was very informative. The room was filled with rescued animals, and the Nature Teacher was Very Informative and kept the children engaged. We were allowed to touch a little Owl and a Snake and a Tortoise and even a Baby Alligator! The kids were thrilled. They learned a lot too. Then we did the Tree Covered Nature Trail and that was amazing. It was the perfect day weather wise and the trail was flourishing with trees birds and other wildlife. The kids really enjoyed that as well! The Nature Teacher accompanied the class and explained about certain trees plants and animals that live in and around the area. The kids even saw a turtle in the water! Then we were brought into the other side where there is a Huge Nature Center. It’s amazing in there, and has a lot of educational things for the kids as well as animals! I was so impressed the 1st time I went here years ago for Halloween. Seeing it again impressed me even more. This is a great place to educate kids on nature and conservation of our precious wildlife. If your a school and are considering taking your classes here, stop thinking and do it, you will be thrilled you did and so will your classes!
My son loved this place. They had fake and alive animals. There was a nice reading nook with books, coloring pages and puzzles my son enjoyed as well.
We almost didn't come here because my husband read that it was a very short walk. However, we are very glad we did. It was fun and memorable! We were immediately engaged by the stork walking around the lakefront by the parking lot. We actually didn't know what it was, but we found it later on inside the Center as one of the exhibits. After that, we immediately saw a whole bunch of turtles while looking over a footbridge. I'm not kidding you when I tell you we saw 10 turtles all at once. They kept swimming up to us and passing by. We were convinced they were looking for food, but We concluded that was not the case. The turtles were different from each other and were fascinating to watch. We spoke with some folks who had seen an alligator an hour before that. But, don't worry, you are well out of the way of the alligators. The walk was indeed short, less than a mile, but if you pay attention to the educational signs and look for the bits of nature that they describe, it is a fun and engaging time. We saw some cool native plants that grow in the trees and we learned about bald cypress trees and how they are deciduous and their roots pop up and are called knees. I've been around the block in these types of places, yet I've never known these little facts! The signs didn't talk about them, but I saw some spiders I've never seen before. I'm not a spider lover but I could not help but appreciate how amazing they were. After our walk we went inside the Exhibit Center and were pleasantly greated by a nice lady named Rona. From start to finish, we had a really great visit. As far as it being small, I kind of liked that fact. Sometimes you just want to have a little outing, perhaps with kids or perhaps you just want to get out of the house for a little while but not commit to a whole day. This is perfect.
Daggerwing is a special place! There are nature trails, snakes, turtles and tortoises, an alligator, tarantulas, and even an owl. The center provides excellent educational programs for children and is a special place for families. The nature center hosts an annual Halloween celebration called Hoot & Howl and an Earth Day celebration. Additionally, there is a plant cart where you can purchase butterfly host and nectar plants for just $5-10.
This science gem is tucked in South County Park. Great place for all ages. Love that the critters all have names. A must stop before you head out on the boardwalk over the wetland in search of the resident gator and many turtles and fish. Mostly shaded and peaceful walk to see different trees and plants.
This nature center has neat exhibit for kids to learn about local wildlife. The animals are well taken care of and they have a great bird feeder and mini pond that attracts a lot of wildlife just outside the center building.
Love this little nature center inside the massive county park. We took elementary age kids and basically entertained them for free. My bargain hunting friends looking for daytime activities with kids will surely love this place. We spent just under two hours here. The indoor nature center has a few exhibits that were educational. A side room had story and picture books and crayons and pages to color. The nature walk in back of the building was the highlight tough, featuring an elevated boardwalk through the natural area. The boardwalk had viewing spots where we saw many turtles, fish, and birds. At the end, the boardwalk led to a three story observation tower that the kids loved to climb. The experience offered a glimpse of South Florida in its original natural state.
Excellent place to spend time with the little ones and to know about our beautiful Florida ecosystems! We had a blast visiting the Exhibition Hall, reading books in the Book Nook corner, and then walking along the elevated deck along Trees and wild animals. We had the great surprise to see an alligator swimming along with snap turtles.

5/5 stars! We're obsessed with this museum! With completely free admission, parking, and activities for all ages, it's the ultimate family destination. The museum accepts donations, but never pressures visitors. We appreciate the generosity. What sets this museum apart? - Interactive exhibits for kids of all ages - Beautiful outdoor garden where kids can water plants, explore nature, and spot insects - Outdoor dining area with tables and chairs - Playground conveniently located right across from the museum! We can't recommend this hidden gem enough! Whether you're a local or just visiting, this museum is a must-visit destination for families.
A great place for kids to have fun and learn. Even for younger ones, the lights and sounds and other kids are very stimulating. The butterfly garden in the back is so sweet. And don’t miss the nature trail. I’m really impressed and will be back again!
The place is full of diverse spaces to explore. There’s a small science explorium with lots of interactive activities for kids (and adults). The areas are air-conditioned, the restrooms are clean, and there are plenty of spots to sit and relax. You can also enjoy nature exploration— they provide an explorer’s backpack with binoculars, a magnifying glass, paper and crayons for drawing, a guide for outdoor activities, and a checklist to spot different insects, birds, and plants. Kids and adults will have fun learning to pay attention to the trail, watering plants, and collecting natural treasures. Everything is free, the staff is very friendly, and they only suggest a voluntary donation. There’s more to explore indoors, but we ran out of time. Outside, there’s a large carousel, which happened to be free that day (not sure about the regular cost), and right across from it is a spacious playground with lots of activities. Some areas have shade, and there are splah spots, so it’s a good idea to come prepared to get wet. We loved it—an ideal place for families with children!
This exploration museum is located together with Sugar sand park in Boca Raton and we live two hours away from this place but took my eight year old daughter to this place yesterday and It was such a great place for kids and parents to have a day together doing so many indoor activities and outdoor exploration in the garden and trail..loved everything in this children's museum and gardens..we spent little more than 2 hours and still there was lot more to do..every city should have something like this to engage families and kids..admission is free here but donations are accepted and it really worth it! Lot of parking lots and clean bathrooms are available. I would recommend anyone to give it a try when you are in this area..enjoy!
Amazing playground, it is massive, includes all abilities play options throughout. There are a variety of swings, the children seem to love the disc swing. There is a misting splash and play area in the playground which is nice. Bathrooms are nearby, the only thing I’d do differently would be to have changing stalls near the splash area also outdoor bathroom stalls nearby.
Amazing experience from a place that is free to visit. So much fun and learning for my toddler. Spent more than an hour only there going from one experiment to the other and back to the most interesting ones.
Free children's museum with rotating exhibits. There's always something fun to do, my 4 year old and 2 year old love it! There's a lovely butterfly garden outside with watering pails for the children to water the plants. There are often caterpillars in various state of metamorphosis as well as butterflies and other pollinators. Highly recommend arriving early if you plan on visiting the playground next door as it can get quite busy.
If you have a family with young kids this is the best place in Boca Raton to bring them. The sugar Sand Park has a huge outdoor playing area with slides swings and a huge play structure. They also have an amazing water play section in the middle of it all. Once you're tired of the heat you can go into the indoor section that has science and engineering exhibits that your kids can play with. The best part is the entire experience is free and you can spend the whole day here. If you wish to play basketball or any sports they have plenty of courts and fields and they also have trails for walking, a butterfly garden. I almost forgot the amazing Carousel at is available for a dollar per ride.

First time there, very nice. Only one small issue, the chairs in 2nf floor show room were a little uncomfortable for the program. I would not let that stop me from coming again. It was a little gem in the middle of the city. Thank you!
Hello. I was recently in Melbourne, Florida on a business trip and took a few restful personal days in Boca Raton afterwards. I was able to attend and enjoy the concerts in performance that same weekend of November 19-21, 2021 at the Mizner Cultural Center. That weekend The Rocky Mountain High Experience starring Mr. Rick Schuler was on stage. The show was delightful and so much fun in every way!! Even as Rick performed many of the well known and beloved songs of John Denver, he also gave to his audiences even more of himself through the gift of his wonderful personal stories, experiences and own songs that made us laugh, smile and encouraged the hearts of all of us there. A concert well worth making the time to see!
I saw; "Men are frm Mars Women are from Venus" Very fuuny!! I had a great night. The venue is smaller than most which gives it a more intimate feel.
The service and the food was wonderful...Our server was very attentive although it was a busy Sunday night..she was always available...Recommend going to this restaurant...slpPalmBeach
Show was great. Women who escorted to our seats were horrendous. So mean.
The bathrooms were dirty and management was surprisingly unprofessional.
Mizner is always great. Art show today, music at times and a good mix of restaurants and stores.
Great area... food and entertainment is wonderful

It is a small place but definitely fun! They have different rooms with different themes. They have outdoor stuff, too. We just didn't go because it was too hot to play outside. Our 2yr old enjoyed playing and even my husband and I had a good time.
Very cute! My little one had a blast playing dress up and pretend in the different sections they had, like the Vet station, Grocery store & Kitchen. *I also learned that they have art classes there too! It's a great little place, but could use a little funding to grow it a bit, as the rooms become a bit crammed when more than 1 child & parent enter. More funding could also help supply more interesting & newer attractions. What's there has definitely seen its days and are just bigger play sets like what you may have at home, but more variety and the addition of other children. Over all, was a nice experience and is luckily very close to home.
It's cute and has a lot for the kids to do considering it's small size. I can understand why some of the reviews say that a good cleaning is due. I didn't care for the third degree while using my reciprocal pass though. She looked at it and said they weren't a part of it, then flipped it over and said oh it says we are. Then questioned how long I had it and realized only a couple of weeks. That still want good enough for her so she insisted that I wait until she called her manager who was at the hospital with her daughter having a baby to get approval. Nice. My current and valid card wasn't good enough proof. Thanks. Don't worry, I probably won't come back.
We had a wonderful time here for several hours. The museum is a house and a great size for children to easily feel relaxed, with many interesting play areas.
We took our granddaughter to this museum, and it was so much more than what we expected. There is so much to do for kids to play with, and it is very enjoyable for the adults to see their children learn. There are several rooms with all kinds of tactile items to interact with. I don't want to give away too much, because I want people to be as surprised as we were when we got there. The story time and art classes with Miss Sima are the true highlight of the museum though. She is an amazing and patient teacher. She taught the children how to make pinwheels, and all the children were completely focused on her instruction, which is not always an easy thing to do with 3+ year olds. Lastly, they have a new area with stand and play water models where the kids can play with boats and watch how our water systems work. We will definitely go again. This is a place your children will never get tired of. Enjoy.
Cute cottage like structure with themed rooms. Ages 1-9 were entertained. Baby area was well equipped with foam climbing mats, and other hands on activities like a magnetic wall and soft musical toys. The outdoor featured a playground(bigger kids), a sand box, and water play area.
Great visit with the kids. They were entertained for hours for a great price. The staff was great and super helpful.
Really great place for kids. Was pleasantly surprised. Some stuff was in need of repair, but still worth the ticket price.

A Boca Raton treasure. Excellent permanent and special exhibits. Staff is very knowledgeable. The "Town Hall Talks" lecture series is refreshed each year and an excellent source of Boca Raton and South Florida history. The museum curator is a Florida native and the best in the business.
This museum was so very well put together and modern. It has some incredible storytelling tiered for both young and old to understand and enjoy. Very glad to have this as a resource in our great city.
What a hidden gem... omg, I lived in Boca back in the 80's & early 90's, never knew this was here. So cool to see the exhibits (had no idea that the Boca airport used to be an Army airfield), the history of IBM, and all of that. a really good visit and very nice & knowledgeable staff.
What an incredible place! Anthony at the front desk was such a delight. Super helpful, insightful and definitely loves what he does. He provided me with so many great historical facts about Boca! The place is clean, well organized and properly displays historical artifacts. Great visuals! Considering buying the membership! Highly recommend for those who enjoy learning about our past and those who have come before us.
Cute, it small. It would be best if you were already somewhat familiar with Boca Raton to get the most out of your visit.
Excellent collection of small exhibits that give a good brief overview of the Boca area. Tip: main entrance is through the parking lot in the back. They also have a mini gift store.
Excellent small and focused museum on Federal in Boca. Free parking. Learn about Boca Raton history, Florida during WWII, RADAR training, and IBM affiliation with Boca. Well worthwhile to visit 👍.
Great local history museum of Boca Raton. Go and learn about the history of this great town.
