Gumbo Limbo Nature Center, located on a barrier island in Boca Raton, is a popular destination for nature enthusiasts and families. The 20-acre coastal sanctuary offers a variety of attractions, including a boardwalk with a lookout point, butterfly garden, and sea turtle tanks. Visitors can also explore the lush grounds and spot diverse wildlife such as iguanas and sharks. The center serves as an educational hub for environmental conservation and research, providing refuge to rare and endangered plant and animal species.
Amazing what they do. Extremely beautiful in every way. The staff was friendly and its very educational. They took the time to explain one on one about the aquatic life and especially the sea turtles. Free for family

We love this place! Super well kept. The staff are very friendly and its so nice to see FAU students getting involved and doing research there. Marianne is super friendly and helpful and she gave my son lots of attention. Make sure you check out the classroom with the snakes and choose a cool seashell on the way out! We will be back! We hope they reopen the turtle hospital soon!
Benjamin F — Google review
Stopped here with my boyfriend during our week-long Florida vacation; never been to such an interesting nature center with no entrance fee. Eels, adult sea turtles, rays, and many different fish in outdoor tanks; seahorses and baby sea turtles in the indoor lab (which is pretty small). If I had the one of these nearby I’d go all the time.
Renee S — Google review
This was one of our favorite things we did in our entire vacation. We had a blast looking at the awesome spiders. A whole lot to see. Great views. Kid friendly. Free to get in but please donate it helps they so very much!!! Front desk was SUPER helpful and everyone on the staff was friendly and courteous. Definitely can't wait to bring all my children to experience the fun 😊
Rain L — Google review
This nature center by far is a must-visit! The staff are above and beyond helpful, friendly, knowledgeable and hospitable. The aquatic life is fascinating along with the free roaming turtles and butterfly garden. There is a room that is used to assist infant turtles in their growth as well as starfish and seahorse viewings. The nature trails are so peaceful with a variety of different walks to complete (you choose how long you want to walk/which paths, if not all). There is a viewing area to see the entire grounds that is accessible by wheelchair/strollers as well as stairs if you prefer. This nature center offers educational classes and events throughout the month. What strikes me as unbelievable is Gumbo Limbo is FREE. They do accept donations-I would recommend at least $10.
Sarah W — Google review
A very interesting place; it is more like a research and study place. But a lot of people come here with little kids to see marine life, and also to go for nature walk. The observation tower, Jacob’s Outlook is also quite fascinating.
Edward E — Google review
An awesome day at Gumbo Limbo!! It was overcast with a light breeze most of the time, muggy for the rest. LOTS of spiders!! 😎 We saw a lot of crabs, birds, fish, a Kemp Ridley sea turtle, butterflies, and 2 Gopher Tortoises. FAU has a marine science laboratory there, that was interesting to watch the students work, they also had a few tanks in there with starfish and seahorses. The Tower is nice for viewing the surrounding area. Boardwalks were ready to navigate. No admission price, but donations are accepted and very much appreciated.
JAMIE 1 — Google review
I took my baby girl here on my birthday, 8/10. It was amazing. We did a scavenger hunt, we saw "Crush" from Finding Nemo, we went on top of the observation deck. It was a good time, just the 2 of us. We will be back for sure.

Located in the heart of Mizner Park, the Boca Raton Museum of Art is a cultural hub that draws art enthusiasts and casual visitors alike. The museum's modernist structure stands out with its clean lines and open, airy space, offering a contemporary contrast to the area's prevalent Mediterranean Revival style. It houses a diverse collection of art including paintings, drawings, photos, glasswork spanning centuries, as well as a sculpture garden and shop.
I really enjoyed the Boca Raton Museum of Art. I went there for an amazing exhibit, it was all beautiful glass from all around the world. I loved all of the different kinds of art that was displayed. I called ahead with a question. The receptionist was very kind and helpful. I love that they had a gift shop. Important to know that on Tuesdays they are closed as I almost went on Tuesday, but thank goodness I looked online. Feel like art definitely check this place out!
Megan S — Google review
This is a delightful museum. I took my kids, whose admission is free by the way, and they really enjoyed the exhibits. This a great summertime excursion for the family. It’s indoors, the AC pumps ice cold air, you’re safe from afternoon thunderstorms, and you can teach your kids to appreciate art. While we were there, the Glasstress exhibit was on view. We were given a scavenger hunt by a very nice young lady working the front desk and the kiddos had a lot of fun finding the right art pieces to complete the task. And they got a cool prize at the end. Take your kids. Open their eyes to art and ideas. You won’t regret it
Ray P — Google review
We visited July 2025 make sure to look up free parking garages ahead of time so you know where to go instead of paying for parking on the side of the road. The museum entrance was not clearly marked but it is to the left side of the amphitheater. Just walk up to the amphitheater and there is a statue next to the entrance. There were glass exhibits when we visited not sure if they were permanent collections but they were pretty cool. My fave was the Venice stack. It’s obviously a small museum but there is still a lot to see and peruse. I am grateful for the artists who continue to share their work ❤️🙏
Suzette C — Google review
My husband and I were visiting from California and decided to try the art museum. It was absolutely wonderful! We were amazed at the type of art and so many different mediums were on display. I liked how interactive it was as well. We had a wonderful time and ended up being the highlight of our trip!
Madalyn F — Google review
I visited this museum and was really pleased. First of all free in July! It's a decent size two floors of paintings, prints, sculptures, and video art. It was informative, intriguing, and inspiring. Took my 10 year old, and was she entertained! I liked how interactive they made it for kids. She was given a list of pictures to find throughout the exhibits and another one more difficult to find details like brush strokes etc in some paintings. It was fun! And the elder lady at the front desk was sweet and friendly. We can't wait to go visit again. And the surrounding area is just beautiful with all the restaurants, shops and the promenade, it made our trip worth it. If you haven't visited yet, you should.
Natasha L — Google review
The Boca Museum of Art is a wonderful museum! Highly recommend a visit if you’re in Palm Beach County or exploring north of Miami. I love the current glass art exhibition!! The pieces are stunning and I absolutely love the stories and meanings behind all of the pieces in the exhibition, really well curated. We did the walking tour for the glass exhibition, the volunteer guide was wonderful. The gift shop has a great selection of items for the art lover!
Leah B — Google review
Very nice amount of different and interesting art displays. From current artists to items dated back 2 centuries ago. Nice plaques with detailed information about each display. Very pleasant staff. Informative tour.

Lovely museum with mainly modern art and a nice outdoor sculpture garden. Free parking in the garages nearby and lots of places to eat nearby in the Mizner Plaza.

Nestled along the picturesque State Road A1A, Red Reef Park is a stunning 67-acre oceanfront oasis that promises an unforgettable day in nature. This hidden gem in Boca Raton offers a plethora of activities, from swimming and snorkeling to surf fishing. Families will delight in the vibrant marine life just off the shore, where kids can spot colorful parrotfish or hunt for elusive sharks' teeth.
$35 for parking (they give 50% off for military discount). It was well worth it because you can enjoy a quieter beach. The beach and the restrooms were clean. Parking was plenty. However, dogs, smoking, and alcohol are not allowed. The water wasn't deep. We had a very good experience here.
Gemma P — Google review
Great park, mostly locals because it’s a bit pricey for tourists. Lots of space to have picnics and grill outs! There are playgrounds and bathrooms, all the necessary requirements. Perfect spot to relax on a Sunday morning.
Leeza S — Google review
Our favorite ⛱️ beach we go at least once or twice a week, more when time allows. Beautiful park.. too bad the artificial reef is no longer, as it was amazing to be able to snorkel right off the beach. The weather and waves are creative havoc and still the park is perfect and the natural dunes help to protect Boca.
Lisa U — Google review
Red Reef Park in Boca Raton is a great spot! You can enjoy the beach, go for a swim, and even have a BBQ in the picnic areas. However, it's mainly for Boca Raton residents who can purchase an annual pass. For non-residents, the entrance fee is around $30–$50 per day — so it’s up to you to decide if it’s worth it.
Stervogon L — Google review
Cool park, with showers and clean toilets. There is a children's playground and picnic areas. The sand is clean. You can watch small crabs on the reef. I recommend visiting.
Андрей Б — Google review
This beautiful park has a path through the mangos and palm trees. Mostly shaded and very nice.
Janyce F — Google review
Upsides: far less seaweed than Pompano or even Deerfield. Lifeguards, beautiful boardwalk, bathrooms, chairs/umbrellas for rent. Hourly park across the street. Downside: parking onsite is flat $35 for the day. Very lil to break the waves, so the water is rough.
Christina R — Google review
Beautiful park and beach. Very well located. Admission with parking is $35 unless you park across the street at a paid hourly lot if you can find space.

Shopping
Mizner Park is a charming outdoor shopping and leisure destination located in Boca Raton, South Florida. Named after the renowned architect Addison Mizner, this area offers upscale retailers, dining options ranging from high-end to casual, and various entertainment events such as the annual bark in the park. Surrounded by elegant condos and close to attractions like the Boca Raton Museum of Art, it's a hub for both locals and visitors.
I lived in Boca for 30+years.. This was one of my favorite places to go. We usually ate at Yard House and always found the food to be decent. Pretty good presence of police at Mizner. I have to say somewhat justifiable on some nights. Shopping at the stores is not cheap, but I can only imagine what the rent is for space there. All in all a great destination.
PDW — Google review
Absolutely love Mizner Park! It is absolutely delightful at any time of day. It is lovely to walk around in the morning and enjoy a coffee or smoothie outside or enjoy a late night out in the town at one of the many popular restaurants. There are plenty of cultural events that take place throughout the year that are family friendly and fun for all to enjoy. There are the big staple restaurants as well as smaller cafes and little shops. There is always a good time to be had at Mizner Park. We love it here! 🤩
Leonora A — Google review
Great place to walk around as the sun sets, lots of dinning options, nice happy hour spots for appetizers and drinks . Some days bring in an influx of exotic cars and most days a crowd of beautiful people. Occasional organized events and decorations to suite the season
Michael T — Google review
Very upscale shopping area with numerous restaurants and stores to shop or just browse in. Be prepared to pay top dollar for your purchases though. This is not your local target shopping
Great S — Google review
Boca Raton is probably a very quality and neat place to stay, but for shorter visits, apart from the beautiful Atlantic coastline, it is quite boring. The same goes for Mizner Park, nothing special to see. And it is not a real shopping mall but rather a smaller type retail park.
Kemal K — Google review
Mizner Park is the center of Boca. It has the art museum. The studio, a bowling alley, and plenty of restaurants and sho I s. Dog friendly too. Other highlights are a putting green and the Amphitheater - it packs everything in !
Di — Google review
Mid afternoon is easy parking. Evenings are more difficult. The parking garage is probably the best bet. Very nice atmosphere. Lots of shops and restaurants. The museum of modern art is wonderful. The ampetheator has very nice events. Just a nice place to visit
Tracey D — Google review
This is one of my favorite places to spend some time with your loved ones or alone! There are many restaurants and stores, and the area looks beautiful! We ate at Max's Grille and the food was excellent, and the waiter was very polite and professional.

Sugar Sand Park, located in Boca Raton, is a 132-acre municipal park that offers a variety of recreational and cultural activities for both locals and visitors. The park features the Willow Theatre, Children's Science Explorium, and Field House with an indoor gymnasium. Visitors can enjoy educational experiences at the science center, carousel rides, live performances at the theater, and outdoor fun at the science playground. Additionally, nature enthusiasts can explore two nature trails - Sand Pine and Slash Pine.
This park is absolutely amazing! There’s something for kids of all ages, from fantastic play areas to two whole spaces dedicated to exploring science. It’s incredible how they’ve blended fun with learning. Plus, the park offers plenty of parking, everything is free, and it’s open until 11 pm. We had such a great experience, and we’re already looking forward to coming back. Thank you for providing such an incredible place for families!
Otty B — Google review
This park is great to spend a couple of hours here without spending much or any money. The playground is huge with lots of levels and varying age appropriate areas. The carousel is for everyone and it’s 1$ per person if you get a token from the machines close by. One adult can accompany a child but you cannot ride , if you also want to ride/sit in the carousel you gotta get a token for yourself. The science center inside is super interactive and there are two rooms full of science stuff for the kids to play with. Kids of all ages will love all of the installations inside. If you walk around in the halls you will also find a small reading area with some chairs and children’s books. Some days there’s an ice cream truck that sells all ice creams for 3$ each. I did not like the splash pad area and did not allow my kid to get in it. It’s very small and the water does not drain. It’s just a big puddle sitting there and the kids splash and play in it and I found that lack of circulation gross.
Iddet M — Google review
This park has it all! 2 huge playgrounds, a splash pad, baseball and basketball fields, a carrusel, picnic tables, a theater and a small museum. Parking is free. It's awesome. Follow me on Instagram as @divine.southflorida for more recommendations like this, Hanna 🫶

Amazing place for kids! Sugar Sand Park is huge — with lots of slides, swings, museums, and even a carousel. There are splash pads and water sprinklers — the kids absolutely loved it! The museum inside the park changes its theme regularly, and right now it’s all about space — super fun and educational. Entrance is completely free, which is such a nice bonus. Perfect spot for a family day out, we’ll definitely be back! 💫👨‍👩‍👧‍👧
Olga F — Google review
The park is fantastic! There are so many activities to enjoy, including splash pads, a carousel, a science museum, a massive playground, and much more. We always have a great time when we visit! Everything is free, except for the carousel, which is just $1 per ride. Parking is convenient, and the park is very clean and well-maintained. Highly recommend for a fun day out!
WeHeart ( — Google review
Great park for kids! It’s really well designed play areas from swings to water splash area, and a Carousel…the play area are fenced in and the park fells very safe for kids to play in. There is even a large building with fun games to play inside., on hot or rainy days. The park is well maintained and clean.
Mark R — Google review
Beautiful park! Kids always have a blast. So much for them to do and keep them entertained for hours. + the indoor museum is fantastic along with the private spaces you can rent. We just did an outside movie night, where we set up a big screen, movie theater, popcorn, machine, candy section and blow up chairs for 60. The park was very accommodating and everybody had a great time. This park is always well-maintained and very clean. They also have basketball courts along with an outdoor roller rink. You won’t run out of things to do! Occasionally, you might see some random wildlife enjoying themselves as well. We ran into a family of raccoons.
Benjamin H — Google review
This is a big park with an amazing playground. There are baseball fields with a small play area and then the big castle like playground across from them. The wooden castle playground is absolutely huge and well made. A great place for a game of hide and seek. There is a toddler area, small child, and bigger child area. There is a small splash pad in the middle. Lots of diverse play equipment including winding tunnel slides, xylophones, a play train, many swings, ramps, stairs, and steering wheels. There are many picnic tables. The Carousel is very cute, just $1.00 admission. If you get hot, the Science Exploratorium is really cool and fun. There is also a science garden in the back. My son loved it!

Spanish River Park is a sprawling 95-acre family-friendly city park nestled between the Intracoastal Waterway and the Atlantic Ocean in Boca Raton. It offers a variety of activities for visitors, including picnicking, swimming, bird-watching, fishing, and biking. The park features convenient beach access through walking tunnels and has lifeguards on duty for safety.
If you live in Boca Raton and say you haven't been here, you'll make me sad :) It's a wonderful, wonderful park. Whether you're going for a walk, visiting the park, or having a picnic... come for whatever reason, but definitely come.
Özden O — Google review
This is a wonderful park and it's completely underutilized. In addition to being a great park with barbecues and facilities for larger groups it also is on the intercoastal as well as the ocean and you have access to lunch kayaks or like right from the park. Is well taken care of and also serves as a parking area to be able to go underneath A1A and go to the dog beach which is through a tunnel without traffic to the other side.
Jonathan K — Google review
Great park!! Grills for BBQ , and plenty of shade for those hot days. Under road entrance to the beach, with showers and clean bathrooms.
Alison T — Google review
Beautiful park and beach. The water I very clear. The park has grills and picnic tables.

Spanish River Park is a beautiful place to enjoy nature, walk among trees, and relax by the ocean. The grounds are well-maintained, with picnic areas, shaded spots, and direct beach access. It’s perfect for families, outdoor activities, or simply unwinding. It’s best to arrive early since parking can fill up quickly. Overall, a very pleasant and well-kept park.

South Inlet Park is a serene oceanfront destination located at the mouth of the Boca Raton Inlet. It offers a more intimate and peaceful beach experience compared to other bustling beaches in the area. Visitors can enjoy clean sandy shores, gentle waves, and a tranquil atmosphere perfect for relaxation or quality time with loved ones. The park features amenities such as BBQ pits, picnic areas, playgrounds, restrooms, outdoor showers, and wheelchair accessibility.
Beautiful inlet & park l!!! Lots of cyclist stop here because it's peaceful and stunning. There are a few benches. Some people bring their beach chairs & blankets. You can stay here for hours. It's high season and it's not as crowded as the beach. Great place to read a book or meditate.
Di — Google review
My absolute favorite beach in the area. Parking is cheap compared to the other beaches and it’s always well maintained. Would definitely recommend to someone trying to find a new beach in the area
Lauren M — Google review
Beautiful park & beach. People can fish on the inlet. Sand on the beach was soft. It is fun watching the boats in/out the inlet. Picnic tables grills for the cookout. Really nice park. Only complaint is parking fills up really quick!
Krazy I — Google review
Take your morning walk and then come back and swim here. My advice: You can watch the fisherman from the beach, or you can be one of them. :) There's a playground for children. There are clean restrooms. The beach is getting more crowded every day. Homeless people have taken over the parking lots. It can get a little boring. It would be great if there was a great cafe here.
Özden O — Google review
Incredible sunrises. Very peaceful. There are grills to cook and benches to sit and admire the vastness of the ocean. Trash cans around.
Julli R — Google review
A small park with good paid parking. It has two different parts to the park; a beach that is very small depending on the tide level and a large grass area with park benches. Short boardwalks take you from the parking lot to the beach. There is a small playground for children and a large pavilion that says “This is a reserved pavilion area, please use beach access.” A few people were in the pavilion so I guess it’s fine to use as long as it’s not reserved for a private group when you are there. This is the northern end of the beach so you could walk down the beach as far as you want to go and the beach will get larger further down. The waves were large and it’s fun watching boats going into and out of the inlet through the surf.
Bill L — Google review
Beautiful location. I'm dying to go fishing there !!!
Antonio R — Google review
Wonderful bit of beach. It is one of the less crowded spots, with parking just like outside. Has a pavilion, playground, and grills. Parking is $3 on weekdays, and $4 per hour on weekends. Patch Reef Park in Boca Raton is a sprawling 55-acre outdoor space that offers a wide array of sports and recreational facilities. Operated jointly by The Greater Boca Raton Beach and Park District and the City of Boca Raton, the park features amenities such as tennis courts, baseball fields, soccer fields, football fields, basketball courts, and an electronic playground. Additionally, visitors can participate in events or classes at the Community Center.
The updated playground is absolutely incredible! Thank you to everyone who put this together. It’s every parents dream. There’s plenty of shade everywhere, plenty of seating, completely fenced in, great splash pad WITH shade, bathrooms are individual stalls, etc etc. The multilevel basketball area is super cute and unique. The ONLY complaint (if this even is one…) is I wish there was some taller slides/structures. But still, my 4.5 and almost 7 year old love it.

The ongoing repair and renovation works are spoiling the fun. They have disturbed the peace of the environment. You should not go there much until the construction works are finished. Apart from that, it is a pleasant park where you can enjoy many activities such as cycling, walking, playing basketball, baseball, having picnics, bringing small children to the park... etc. I think we need to be a little patient.

The updated park is AMAZING!!!!!! The splash pad is great. The floor material on the park side is super soft. There is an area with basketball hoops of various sizes. Bathrooms are within the gate. There are many picnic tables and seating areas and even child sized tables for a fun snack or lunch time with friends. We also appreciate the shaded coverings above the park and splash pad.

It is an incredibly beautiful park, everything is thought for children. There is nothing to pose a danger. We experienced the part for ages 1-8, which is completely safe and has a water playground, basketball court and playground. If your child has no friends, don't worry, they can socialize and make friends there.

This is a great remodel! We took our twins there just the other day and they had a blast! Only suggestion would be to put some slip pads on the metal playground area because I saw multiples kids get wet and then run on it and slip. Also the one water spinning thing that’s close to the ground, like 3 kids hit their head on it. But other than that, my kids absolutely loved it and it’s beautifully done.

Such an awesome park. Playground and splash pad in one! I sent a video to my mom and sister and they assumed you had to pay to get in (you don’t, but it’s that nice!) 30 min drive from Riviera Beach but was worth it.

5/5 stars! We're obsessed with this museum! With completely free admission, parking, and activities for all ages, it's the ultimate family destination. The museum accepts donations, but never pressures visitors. We appreciate the generosity. What sets this museum apart? - Interactive exhibits for kids of all ages - Beautiful outdoor garden where kids can water plants, explore nature, and spot insects - Outdoor dining area with tables and chairs - Playground conveniently located right across from the museum! We can't recommend this hidden gem enough! Whether you're a local or just visiting, this museum is a must-visit destination for families.

A great place for kids to have fun and learn. Even for younger ones, the lights and sounds and other kids are very stimulating. The butterfly garden in the back is so sweet. And don’t miss the nature trail. I’m really impressed and will be back again!
Carly C — Google review
The place is full of diverse spaces to explore. There’s a small science explorium with lots of interactive activities for kids (and adults). The areas are air-conditioned, the restrooms are clean, and there are plenty of spots to sit and relax. You can also enjoy nature exploration— they provide an explorer’s backpack with binoculars, a magnifying glass, paper and crayons for drawing, a guide for outdoor activities, and a checklist to spot different insects, birds, and plants. Kids and adults will have fun learning to pay attention to the trail, watering plants, and collecting natural treasures. Everything is free, the staff is very friendly, and they only suggest a voluntary donation. There’s more to explore indoors, but we ran out of time. Outside, there’s a large carousel, which happened to be free that day (not sure about the regular cost), and right across from it is a spacious playground with lots of activities. Some areas have shade, and there are splah spots, so it’s a good idea to come prepared to get wet. We loved it—an ideal place for families with children!

This exploration museum is located together with Sugar sand park in Boca Raton and we live two hours away from this place but took my eight year old daughter to this place yesterday and It was such a great place for kids and parents to have a day together doing so many indoor activities and outdoor exploration in the garden and trail..loved everything in this children's museum and gardens..we spent little more than 2 hours and still there was lot more to do..every city should have something like this to engage families and kids..admission is free here but donations are accepted and it really worth it! Lot of parking lots and clean bathrooms are available. I would recommend anyone to give it a try when you are in this area..enjoy!

Amazing playground, it is massive, includes all abilities play options throughout. There are a variety of swings, the children seem to love the disc swing. There is a misting splash and play area in the playground which is nice. Bathrooms are nearby, the only thing I’d do differently would be to have changing stalls near the splash area also outdoor bathroom stalls nearby.

Amazing experience from a place that is free to visit. So much fun and learning for my toddler. Spent more than an hour only there going from one experiment to the other and back to the most interesting ones.

Free children's museum with rotating exhibits. There's always something fun to do, my 4 year old and 2 year old love it! There's a lovely butterfly garden outside with watering pails for the children to water the plants. There are often caterpillars in various state of metamorphosis as well as butterflies and other pollinators. Highly recommend arriving early if you plan on visiting the playground next door as it can get quite busy.

If you have a family with young kids this is the best place in Boca Raton to bring them. The sugar Sand Park has a huge outdoor playing area with slides swings and a huge play structure. They also have an amazing water play section in the middle of it all. Once you're tired of the heat you can go into the indoor section that has science and engineering exhibits that your kids can play with. The best part is the entire experience is free and you can spend the whole day here. If you wish to play basketball or any sports they have plenty of courts and fields and they also have trails for walking, a butterfly garden. I almost forgot the amazing Carousel at is available for a dollar per ride.

This is one of me and my husband's favorite parks. There is a large lake and a nature trail with a story walk my son enjoys. You will see quite a bit of wildlife - many different birds, iguanas, black snakes, tree frogs, etc.
Morgan M — Google review
Free parking next to the library and nature area. The northern red trail is a covered pine and palmetto palm forest while the southern yellow trail is an open air grassy plain. Both are easy sandy trails and worth the walk, great for beginners/young children. The main center green loop with various reading stations is a concrete sidewalk. It hasn't rained in a while, the trails were dry, the temp in the 80s, but it was slightly humid. The only issue I had is the urban noise, you couldn't forget that you are in the middle of a city; apartment complexes, airport and major roads surround the park.

Nice little getaway in the middle of Boca Raton. Walking and hiking trail although not very adventurous. Trail is less than a mile, can still hear construction and traffic. Saw a bald eagle and lots of lizards. Walking trail is paved so easy for anyone. Hiking trail is sand so more of a challenge. Trails wind through scrub area, has lot of shade. Pets not allowed, seems to be the case in most of these natural areas. Was able to get my steps in by looping a few times. Parking was available but figuring out where parking was for this park was difficult. Entry seems to be a residential area until you figure out where to go. Overall got in some exercise and saw some FL scenery.

Reed was our party host and made my sons party super smooth, everyone had a great time! Our party got rained out but the party coordinator Rachel gave our whole party rainchecks for the attractions for another day of play! Check in was smooth as well. Had an amazing experience. Staff were helpful and answered any questions we had. Thank you Boomers! Will definitely book again!

We stopped coming here a year ago because it was always the same thing, and the price of the machines was a bit high compared to Extreme Action Park. So we just came back, and they had updated the place a little bit. They even changed the cards; we had the old cards, and they gave us new ones. The sunset views from this place are amazing. They added new machines also. It was a better experience than before.

We celebrated the birthday of our daughter there last weekend. Well.. I’m not satisfied with the room, that we paid for… no decorations, not enough light. The host wasn’t helpful enough, me and my daughter were preparing everything, decorating and cleaning the table and the room! Yes, there is fun to spend time, but it doesn’t worst that amount of money to celebrate a birthday party. We won’t be back…

Whether you're 3 or 53, this place has it all! I was a little apprehensive to book my 7 year old's birthday here due to the height requirements of some of the attractions, but I am so happy I did. Everyone, including the parents, had the best time ever! Heck, I may book a PARENTS NIGHT OUT here in the future. It definitely reminded me of my childhood and set up a great experience for my daughter and her friends to add to their memories. Thank you! Best decision ever!

We went for Mothers Day! It was fun. My daughter's enjoyed the bumpers' cars, and laser tag with the arcade was all very enjoyable. The food was too pricey. I didn't like the high price for the quantity. It's a very older location, so I do understand it's popular. However I wouldn't go visit again. Not for regular admission price. We went due to mother's day 2025 bogo prices. The water boats are whack! Very slow and most of the boat cars were not working. Only 3/4 ppl at a time for a very small space of riding. Tge speedometer of the boat were also very slow.

I have been living at Quiet Waters for almost 6 years, but my experience with the lease renewal process has been extremely disappointing. For the past three months, we have been trying to renew our lease and nothing has been resolved. Instead, we are being forced to pay an extra $500 each month on a month-to-month basis while they “delay” the renewal. The person handling the process, Tanisha, has been completely unhelpful. She does not respond to messages, provides unclear information, and leaves us guessing when random emails arrive from another company with no “Quiet Waters” name attached. How are residents supposed to know those emails are from the leasing office? A simple phone call or clear communication could resolve this issue, but unfortunately, she seems too lazy or indifferent to care. It feels like the office is intentionally dragging things out to make residents pay more. This is unacceptable, unprofessional, and very stressful for tenants who are just trying to follow the process.

Absolute atrocity of a university. From beginning to end. Not to mention, the process of scheduling an academic advising appointment on Navigate 360 hasn’t worked for years. In general, being a student here has been a frustrating experience. There are not enough professors to teach classes leading to extremely tight schedules offering no flexibility whatsoever. I have had to endure 12 hour days at this uni because of it. On top of having a shortage of professors, a lot of the professors can barely teach. I’ve had professors that seem genuinely confused by what they’re teaching. I’ve had instances where they’ve attempted to teach and explain examples only to look at the solutions and realise they were wrong. Then, going back and reading in an attempt to understand what he’s already supposed to know. I understand making mistakes every now and then, but it was too frequent to justify. Another issue amongst these professors is the habitual use of outdated material (2005-2010), especially in a field that is rapidly growing and changing. There’s so much more I would like to say regarding the professors but I need to address and voice some of my other concerns too. Parking situation is terrible, filthy restrooms in every building (broken toilets, faucets, no soap), some of the classes themselves are disgustingly muggy and warm. As a student here, I feel as if a lot of the funding doesn’t go towards fixing the root problems. Maybe it does but there have been no apparent improvements to the quality of teaching here. At the end of the day, that’s what I’m here for. On another note, I would like to commend the few well-knowledged professors at this institution. There’s nothing more rewarding than having a professor who truly knows how to teach. One that has a well-structured, well planned out class with up-to-date information. One that challenges you and ensures the future success of each hard-working student. I am highly grateful for professors who are passionate about their jobs and truly know how to teach, and also want to teach. Overall, I feel failed by this university. Maybe it’s simply an issue with my field of study. There’s a plethora of issues that I didn’t even address. I sincerely don’t recommend studying here. This borderline feels like a scam (I wish I was being dramatic). Do your research and choose wisely, maybe it’s like I stated above, “simply an issue with my field of study.” Back when I was younger, I was reading the reviews on here and saw the mention of “FAU means - find another university.” I disregarded it believing it was dramatised; however, I soon realised how accurate that statement stood to be.
БΞGIИИIИG — Google review
The atmosphere is relaxed. My son likes attending classes and living in the dorm. He has had some good roommates. My only gripe is some professors have very low ratings by the student body and no one has called them on it. When you have 90% of the students giving a professor a poor rating it's because they are either terrible at explaining the material or grade ridiculous.
Lakeska K — Google review
If you are reading through these reviews and see some particularly low ones, please do not discount them. Frankly, their system for advising (Navigate360) is nothing short of abysmal. And they have no intention of fixing it or updating it. You will not be treated like a student, but a customer with a ticket number. They do everything in their power to not speak with you and provide the most minimal service possible. Note, that they continually do not have enough funds to provide adequate personnel to the over abundance of students however Dean and Administrative salaries continue to tick-up year after year. I genuinely advise anyone looking to go here to consider options where the staff and professors meet the standards and needs of their students; both current and incoming. This is a prefect poster child of the failing U.S. higher education system. State funds have been slowly drying up so their solution is to simply just keep raising tuition. Without addressing the deteriorating quality of their courses and professors, administrative bloat and backsliding, disgustingly overblown athletic budgets and salaries (two of the highest paid employees are coaches), or its disorganized, chaotic and self-referential online environments. Simply put, please do your research. I am a returning student and even I am shocked at the reduction of quality this school has experienced. What used to be a principled beacon of quality education for an affordable price within greater South Florida has become nothing more than a business operation in making money off of the very students it claims it wants to help. Community College degrees provide the same state certified accreditation, whilst often providing more individual care. Trade and Technical schools take only 6 months to 2 years to compete, depending on the field of course. Do not allow them to convince you that you need anything from them.

Price is not worth the education. Learned nothing in 4 years for a piece of paper. Online professors teach nothing. They just grade the work. Should probably just fire them all and let the system grade everything. I mean this is all about the money right? Poor companies and colleges deserve to be called out. And youre a greedy college. I noticed there was no actual response to my allegations, probably because you know im correct. Thanks for nothing again.

The boat park area is only open on Saturdays and Sundays, for which the park jas a general admission charge of $3.00 per car; otherwise, during the week, admission is free. We got two hours on the "big lake" for $15.00. What a deal! Mom and adult son did the foot pedalling and Dad and adult daughter sitting Im the back enjoying the view. And what sights and smells: a three foot colorful lizard , a bicycle course with wild twists and turns, bicycle enthusiastic riders, and people in pavilions cooking up wonderful smelling food.

Located at the Schmidt Family Complex for Academic and Athletic Excellence at FAU, the FAU Fogelman Sports Museum is a must-visit destination for sports enthusiasts. It houses one of the largest individual private sports libraries in existence, showcasing the evolution of American sports over time. The collection, donated by former Kansas City Royals owner Avron B. Fogelman, offers a comprehensive visual history of American sports.
Well worth the visit even for those not interested in sports. Lots of baseball stuff. Parking behind the building In the multi-level lot. Free to park and visit. Takes about 45 minutes to walk around. Lots of really cool stuff.

We loved it. It's small, but quite complete as a Venezuelan. I liked seeing Luis Aparicio's jersey in the collection. We hope to soon see Salvador Pérez's jersey in this great Kansas City Royals collection.

It was a rainy Saturday and we were looking for something to do with my daughter and her husband. We were so pleasantly surprised at all the wonderful spots memorabilia on display. The collection was amazing. Everyone loved it. I highly recommend going to the sports museum. All sports fans will have a great time. Did I mention admission is FREE! Thanks to Mr Fogelman and FAU for a great museum.

Dog park
Mizner Bark Dog Park is a fantastic haven for dog lovers and their furry companions, nestled within the larger Mizner City Park. This exclusive park caters to Boca Raton residents and features separate fenced areas designed for dogs of varying sizes, ensuring safe interactions while allowing small pups to playfully challenge their larger counterparts through the fence. The spacious grassy fields provide ample room for off-leash fun, making it an ideal spot for your pets to socialize and burn off some energy.
Mizner Bark is hands down the best dog park I’ve ever been to—not just in Boca Raton, but in all of South Florida. If you’re a dog owner who truly cares about giving your pup a safe, fun, and clean environment to run free, this place is a gem. Beautifully Maintained & Spacious The park is immaculately maintained. The grass is lush, the grounds are clean, and there’s zero trash or foul smells you might find at other parks. They clearly take pride in keeping it pristine. It’s divided into three sections for small, medium, and large dogs, so every pup has space to roam and play with others their size. Safe & Secure Gated double-entry points ensure safety, and each section has plenty of shade, benches, water fountains for both people and pups, and even doggy bag dispensers stocked and ready to go. I felt completely at ease letting my dog off leash—everyone there was friendly and respectful of the rules. Great Community Vibe What makes Mizner Bark even better is the community. The other dog owners here are super friendly, responsible, and the dogs are all well-socialized. It feels like a little neighborhood hangout—for both dogs and people. Verdict If you’re looking for a dog park that offers wide-open space, cleanliness, safety, and a great vibe—this is it. My dog absolutely loves it, and I always leave with a happy, tired pup. Mizner Dog Park is a five-star experience every single time. This is a must-visit for any dog lover in South Florida!

This is really the only dog park that's in Boca Raton. It's nice to have but the maintenance is barely and I'm in barely acceptable. They do the least amount of work possible to make this other dog parks do, and whatever little work they do is mainly on the small dog park not on the large or two medium sized dog parks. But there are a few other options as close by.
Jonathan K — Google review
Perfect dog park in easy, quiet location in central Boca. Large grassy open spaces divided into separate sections for small, medium and large dogs. Walking paths, park benches, covered sitting areas, water stations for drinking water for the doggies. Doggie bag stations with trash cans. Easy parking.
Steven W — Google review
The very large park is divided into three separate areas for small, medium, and large dogs. All the areas have lots of natural grass, trees to provide shaded areas, and pavilions with seating for pet owners. Plenty of room for my big Lab to run. There's also hoses provided to rinse or wash your pup afterwards. Overall great place.

This is the best dog park I have ever been to. So much space for humans to walk around and dogs to have space to run around!

This is one of our absolute favorite places to be! Fun. Clean. Well maintained. A perfect place to watch your furry friend run and play in the safety of a large grassy space. Don't forget Wednesday mornings are always reserved for maintenance so the park doesn't open until 12pm...this is only on Wednesdays! Enjoy...surely we will see you soon! 🐶

The pool boasts an 8-lane, 25-yard by 25-meter layout with two diving boards, making it popular among residents and non-residents alike.
Great place for lap swimming. Big car lot, easy access, quiet neighborhood. Pool is clean and great for every day practice. They warm up water winter time. Locker rooms and showers not the best shape but clean and working. My every day practice is great there.

Wide lanes- rarely have had to share either! Water temps are always perfect. They play great music too. Didn’t even know this pool existed until my regular pool on st. Andrews closed for upgrades. Not going back- this place is fantastic

As a native South Floridian originally from North Miami Beach - I took up swimming again after many years and got hooked on it! … now I needed to find a pool to swim in! Little did I know that we had visited this pool before. As I signed-up the lifeguard said to me, you’re already in our database from 20 years ago! I laughed, what? We had registered our twins for swimming lessons way back in 2002. Meadows Park Pool is conscientious about its community families – I knew I was in the right place. The Olympic size pool is beautiful under the bright sunlight, I couldn’t wait to go in! The lifeguards are very helpful and friendly and keep an eye on us as we swim – the grounds around it encompass tennis courts, a play area for children, a white sand volleyball area, a shared community farm and a baseball field. As you drive-in its quaintness is inviting, and it has a serenity that calms your soul.

Hey, have you heard about Meadows Park Pool in East Boca Raton? It's hidden off the main strip, and we're so glad we discovered it! 🏊‍♂️☀️ It's the perfect spot to beat the heat and have a blast. After some playtime at the adjacent playground, it's the ultimate cool-down destination. 💦 🌴☀️ Summers in South Florida are all about getting refreshed and having fun. 🌊 It's like a little oasis where you can relax and let the water wash away the day's heat. The entrance fee per person is pretty reasonable, so it won't break the bank. 💰 Honestly, Meadows Park Pool is a sweet spot to spend quality time with family and friends. So, if you're looking for a cozy pool to chill and unwind, this place has got you covered! 🌴👨‍👩‍👧‍👦🎉 IG @kidsinflorida Facebook groups #ThingsToDoinFloridawithKids

Meadows Park is a nearly 13 acre park centrally located in Boca Raton just east of Boca Raton Middle School. Set next to a canal, it has a plenty of parking and many shade trees. A popular amenity at Meadows Park is its 8 lane, 25 yard by 25 meter pool with two diving boards. Resident children pay $2 and adults are $4 while non residents pay double. You can also purchase monthly, semi annual, and annual memberships. The Boca Mantas Swim Team trains at the pool and the pool offers swim lessons. Meadows park is also the home of the 1.4 acre Boca Community Garden which opened on October 16, 2021. The garden is sponsored by the Junior League of Boca Raton, Brightline, City of Boca Raton, Community Greening and Tree City USA. Garden plots can be rented by Boca Raton community members from $60 to $110 per plot. Residents can also participate in gardening classes. Inside the garden is a gazebo with seating. There is a new playground being installed that is themed to match the community garden. The garden smelled lovely and I really loved exploring it and getting inspiration for things I can grow in my own school community garden. The garden and pool make Meadows Park a special destination in the Boca Parks and Rec holdings. The park also has a baseball field, sand volleyball court, tennis courts, picnic tables, and grills, and a paved exercise path. The park will be even nicer when the brand new playground is completed. Come out and enjoy all this park has to offer.

It's a popular attraction offering various activities and events for residents and visitors. The square features a stage, portico, beautiful fountains, and a sidewalk lined with Royal palms. Throughout the year, it hosts performances by local artists and provides free entertainment for all ages.
What a wonderful experience it was to visit this outdoor art exhibition space! Each artwork seamlessly blended with the surrounding nature, creating a magical and enriching atmosphere. The variety of artistic styles and techniques present was simply fascinating, offering visitors a diverse and captivating insight. Moreover, the arrangement of the artworks allowed for a unique interaction with the environment, inviting us to reflect and appreciate the beauty of both art and nature. Undoubtedly, this place is a creative oasis that inspires and uplifts the spirit. A delightful experience I would recommend to all art and outdoor beauty enthusiasts!

Sanborn Square is a beautiful green space located sandwiched between Federal Highway and Mizner Park in Boca Raton. There is a stage, portico, a sidewalk lined with Royal palms, and beautiful fountains. During the holiday season the city of Boca uses the space to put up a manager, Christmas Tree and other holiday themed lighted decorations. The square had a moment in the spotlight when in 2016 a local teacher erected a 10 foot Satanic pentagram in response to the cities religious display. The space is available to rent for weddings. It also hosts art exhibits, yoga classes, and festivals. On Saturday night I attended the 3rd Annual Downtown Boca Italian Fest. It was packed with people and included rides, food, and live entertainment. During the festival Federal Hwy was blocked off and parking can be kind of tricky in this area. There is a strip mall located adjacent to this area but do not park there. It is patrolled and if you are caught parking in the plaza but not visiting a business there they will have you towed and are quite aggressive about it. If there aren't any events going on here you can usually find parking on the street. If there is an event your best bet is to park in the Mizner Park parking garage.

One of Boca’s not so hidden gems. Sanborn Square is a great place to bring the family for a relaxing day. There’s a free yoga session on Saturday mornings hosted by Yoga Journey (also in Boca). It’s so awesome to see people enjoying the beautiful weather while practicing self care. This is one of the places on my list of “must sees” that I provide to my real estate clients, who are considering a move to South Florida. Lots of healthy food options within walking distance too.

This is one of my favorite parks in Boca Raton. You can just feel its rich history from all of people that have past thru the park over the many years. This is also one of Boca's best event venues. The Boca Burger Battle takes place in July, the Boca Raton Wine and Food Festival takes place in November, the Taco Battle takes place in February and the Wing/Dessert Battle takes place in April. Everyone loves the feel of the park when it's bustling with people and music. Be sure to check it out when you're in town.

We loved our 2 hr visit to the pier at Boca Raton Beach! The parking was easy and had a 2 hr limit, which is good since the parking lot is small. The price was only maybe $6 for 2 hrs and it was right at the pier entrance. There was a nice shaded pavilion with seats that overlook the beach right next to the parking lot, which was very convenient. Everything looked very clean, however, I didnt notice a bathroom close by. This area is a fun spot to have a little snack while looking at the ocean and people watching!

Parents rave about the thoughtful design and variety of engaging toys, puzzles, books, climbing structures, and even a ball pit!
I had my son’s 2nd birthday party at the Green Playground today, and I can’t recommend this venue enough. Not only did the space look beautiful thanks to Dianna and her daughter Adriana, but they made the experience beyond relaxing and enjoyable. I truly felt like a guest at my own party. All of the kids had a blast, and I will definitely be coming back for their open play sessions—the space is both clean and beautiful.

We absolutely LOVE The Green Playground, Mrs. Diana & Mrs. Adriana. We go at least once a week and they treat our son like family. He is so excited not just to go play but to see them! It’s so clear how much love and work they put into making this a safe, fun, and amazing experience for families. Mrs. Diana is always focused on making the play educational for him too, and will suggest new and fun ideas of how to play with the toys. We even did his first birthday here and they went above and beyond making decorations to help celebrate! 💗 it’s the perfect clean, indoor play space to bring our one year old.

The Green Playground is hands down one of the best places for children and parents alike! From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with a bright, welcoming environment that feels both safe and magical. The space is always spotless and beautifully organized, with every detail thoughtfully curated for kids to play, learn, and explore. The music creates such a happy, inviting atmosphere, and the variety of books, sensory toys, and kid-friendly play equipment is absolutely perfect for keeping little ones engaged. You can tell this isn’t just a playroom, it’s a space designed with love and intention. Mrs. Dianna, the owner, is the heart of it all. She’s warm, personable, and genuinely cares about every child and family who walks through the door. Her passion and attention to detail make this place truly special. If you’re looking for a safe, fun, and inspiring play space for your children, The Green Playground is a hidden gem you’ll be so glad you discovered!
Presley G — Google review
I recently took my granddaughter to this place on one of her preschool-free days, hoping for a fun experience. However, I was taken aback by the owner's strict approach—I'm not sure if her name is Diane or Diana, but she certainly runs the establishment with a military-like precision. This environment is nothing like cherished spots such as "My Gym" or "Little Town Play," where kids can play freely and joyfully. Instead, I found the owner hovering over everyone, cleaning up after each child with an evident sense of frustration. While I understand that toddlers can be messy, her attitude suggests she may be in the wrong profession. A little relaxation would go a long way! Creating a more welcoming and comfortable atmosphere would not only benefit the children but also the parents. I believe that fostering a light-hearted space is essential for little ones to truly enjoy themselves.

I can’t say enough good things about the green playground! My son absolutely loves coming here — it’s his favorite place. The space is clean, safe, and thoughtfully designed for younger children, with age-appropriate play structures and activities that keep him engaged for hours. What I appreciate most is how well everything is laid out — there’s plenty of room for kids to run, climb, slide, and explore without it ever feeling overcrowded or chaotic. The staff is always friendly and attentive, and they do a great job keeping the environment tidy and welcoming. It’s the perfect spot for letting kids burn off energy, especially on hot or rainy days. As a parent, it gives me peace of mind knowing he’s in a safe and stimulating environment where he can have fun and be active. Highly recommend to anyone with little ones!

South Beach Park in Boca Raton spans 24.5 acres and boasts three swimming areas, making it a popular destination for both locals and visitors. The park offers opportunities for surfing, fishing, and bird-watching, as well as a convenient trail connecting it to Spanish River Park. With its beautiful white sand beach and various activities such as surfing and boogie boarding, South Beach Park Pavilion provides ample space to relax without the crowds found at other beaches in the area.
South Beach, Boca Raton: A Relaxing Beach Escape South Beach in Boca Raton offers a wonderful, less crowded beach experience, perfect for families and those seeking a tranquil escape. I recently visited and was impressed by the relaxed atmosphere, especially in the evenings. It's a fantastic spot to catch a breathtaking sunset over the ocean. During my visit, I even spotted a few beach jellyfish, adding a bit of natural wonder to the experience (though it's always good to be mindful of marine life). The beach is also ideal for a leisurely evening stroll, making it a great place to unwind after a long day. If you're looking for a beautiful, not-overly-packed beach in Boca Raton, South Beach is definitely worth checking out. Ciao🌺

South Beach Park is a fantastic spot for anyone looking to enjoy a relaxing day by the ocean. The beach itself is clean, well-maintained, and offers stunning views of the coastline. The soft sand and clear waters make it a great place for sunbathing, swimming, or just taking a peaceful walk along the shore. The waves here are often gentle, making it a good spot for casual swimmers and those who just want to dip their toes in the ocean. If you're a nature lover, you’ll appreciate the surrounding greenery and occasional sightings of local wildlife.

South Point Beach in Boca Raton delivers. Clean, spacious sands, and water so clear it practically sends a thank-you note. I hit it midweek—no crowds, plenty of room to spread out and actually relax (amen). The beach amenities are practical: decent parking (though it fills fast on weekends), nice showers, and clean restrooms. Bonus: the lifeguard is 10/10—attentive and even friendly. Would I drive the extra mile? Yep. It’s a quality over quantity situation: fewer people, better vibes, and a real sense of calm. Only downside: snacks and shade are limited—pack your own gear and refreshments.
Christopher T — Google review
I’m honestly not sure because I couldn’t bring myself to pay $50 for parking. I ended up driving a little bit further and paying for parking across the street as I was only going for two hours and six dollars for two hours felt much more reasonable.
Christine — Google review
Beautiful private beach parking attendant was very kind and helpful definitely can’t wait to visit here again. Since we made it near closing time and the sun was already gone.
Ydania F — Google review
This is a great spot to go for a walk, tan, or get in the ocean. I came on a Monday midday and it wasn’t very busy. It was a nice walk all the way up to red reef. I enjoyed watching the surfers.

Awesome spot. The views are splendid. A good get away from the hustle and bustle of the big city. Small town metro vibe.

Daggerwing Nature Center is a recreational facility that offers an exhibit hall featuring live animals and interactive attractions. The center also features scenic boardwalk trails with breathtaking views of the surrounding environment. Visitors can enjoy a peaceful walk through the park, as well as explore the Butterfly Garden, which hosts up to 17 different butterfly species. The boardwalk is clean and well maintained, leading visitors over lakes and through Spanish moss-covered trees with varying shades of green along the way.
We were just here on a Field Trip with Sandpiper Shores Elm. The presentation in the class style room was very informative. The room was filled with rescued animals, and the Nature Teacher was Very Informative and kept the children engaged. We were allowed to touch a little Owl and a Snake and a Tortoise and even a Baby Alligator! The kids were thrilled. They learned a lot too. Then we did the Tree Covered Nature Trail and that was amazing. It was the perfect day weather wise and the trail was flourishing with trees birds and other wildlife. The kids really enjoyed that as well! The Nature Teacher accompanied the class and explained about certain trees plants and animals that live in and around the area. The kids even saw a turtle in the water! Then we were brought into the other side where there is a Huge Nature Center. It’s amazing in there, and has a lot of educational things for the kids as well as animals! I was so impressed the 1st time I went here years ago for Halloween. Seeing it again impressed me even more. This is a great place to educate kids on nature and conservation of our precious wildlife. If your a school and are considering taking your classes here, stop thinking and do it, you will be thrilled you did and so will your classes!

My son loved this place. They had fake and alive animals. There was a nice reading nook with books, coloring pages and puzzles my son enjoyed as well.
Alana B — Google review
We almost didn't come here because my husband read that it was a very short walk. However, we are very glad we did. It was fun and memorable! We were immediately engaged by the stork walking around the lakefront by the parking lot. We actually didn't know what it was, but we found it later on inside the Center as one of the exhibits. After that, we immediately saw a whole bunch of turtles while looking over a footbridge. I'm not kidding you when I tell you we saw 10 turtles all at once. They kept swimming up to us and passing by. We were convinced they were looking for food, but We concluded that was not the case. The turtles were different from each other and were fascinating to watch. We spoke with some folks who had seen an alligator an hour before that. But, don't worry, you are well out of the way of the alligators. The walk was indeed short, less than a mile, but if you pay attention to the educational signs and look for the bits of nature that they describe, it is a fun and engaging time. We saw some cool native plants that grow in the trees and we learned about bald cypress trees and how they are deciduous and their roots pop up and are called knees. I've been around the block in these types of places, yet I've never known these little facts! The signs didn't talk about them, but I saw some spiders I've never seen before. I'm not a spider lover but I could not help but appreciate how amazing they were. After our walk we went inside the Exhibit Center and were pleasantly greated by a nice lady named Rona. From start to finish, we had a really great visit. As far as it being small, I kind of liked that fact. Sometimes you just want to have a little outing, perhaps with kids or perhaps you just want to get out of the house for a little while but not commit to a whole day. This is perfect.

Daggerwing is a special place! There are nature trails, snakes, turtles and tortoises, an alligator, tarantulas, and even an owl. The center provides excellent educational programs for children and is a special place for families. The nature center hosts an annual Halloween celebration called Hoot & Howl and an Earth Day celebration. Additionally, there is a plant cart where you can purchase butterfly host and nectar plants for just $5-10.

This science gem is tucked in South County Park. Great place for all ages. Love that the critters all have names. A must stop before you head out on the boardwalk over the wetland in search of the resident gator and many turtles and fish. Mostly shaded and peaceful walk to see different trees and plants.
Sheri C — Google review
This nature center has neat exhibit for kids to learn about local wildlife. The animals are well taken care of and they have a great bird feeder and mini pond that attracts a lot of wildlife just outside the center building.
Jenna B — Google review
Love this little nature center inside the massive county park. We took elementary age kids and basically entertained them for free. My bargain hunting friends looking for daytime activities with kids will surely love this place. We spent just under two hours here. The indoor nature center has a few exhibits that were educational. A side room had story and picture books and crayons and pages to color. The nature walk in back of the building was the highlight tough, featuring an elevated boardwalk through the natural area. The boardwalk had viewing spots where we saw many turtles, fish, and birds. At the end, the boardwalk led to a three story observation tower that the kids loved to climb. The experience offered a glimpse of South Florida in its original natural state.
Joe G — Google review
Excellent place to spend time with the little ones and to know about our beautiful Florida ecosystems! We had a blast visiting the Exhibition Hall, reading books in the Book Nook corner, and then walking along the elevated deck along Trees and wild animals. We had the great surprise to see an alligator swimming along with snap turtles.

The Burt Aaronson South County Regional Park is a year-round green space that boasts beautiful gardens, a golf course, an aquatic park and amphitheaters. This amazing park also offers amenities such as bicycle lanes, a large playground, fishing spots and even a dog park. While there have been reports of alligator sightings in the past week, visitors are still encouraged to come and enjoy the breathtaking sunsets by the water and watch people jet skiing.
I go there when I want a quiet place to clear my head and connect with God but I stay for the absolutely beautiful sunset views. It’s well kept, if I bump into anyone there (rarely), they’re always so kind with the most amazing dogs. A great place to pray or get lost in worship.
Naa B — Google review
I’ve been to this park a few times to take walks. It’s a large park and my wife and I will walk 3 to 5 miles around it. During the week it’s not busy but even on weekends you will find places to park without any issues. This 872 acre park has almost everything. Tennis center, pickleball, baseball fields, volleyball, golf course, racquetball/handball courts, water park, canoe/kayak launch, picnic areas with grills, playground for ages 2-5 years, ages 5-12 years, ages 2-12 years, Amphitheaters, Dog park, running path, Daggerwing Nature Center and so much more. You can enter from Yamato Road, Park Access Road or Glades Road. The park is always kept in good shape but they have some electrical issues so bathrooms are closed but porta potties have been installed until the issues are fixed. Also some field and parking lot lights aren’t working. Since this park is in far western Boca it’s not as busy as most other parks in the Boca, Delray,Boynton area.
Bill L — Google review
Really struggling to understand why they go months without fixing the bathrooms in this otherwise fantastic park. This is an affluent area, but literally months there are porta-potties sitting outside the bathrooms. 🚽 🤢 🤮 Is there anyway we can help them prioritize their repair?
Aaron S — Google review
This park has so much to offer. It's huge. But I have never had a problem with parking or finding a place to watch the sunset. I love watching the sunset there. Unobstructed viewing. :-)
Deborah A — Google review
Great park with lots going on. There is plenty of parking & something to do for everyone. Playgrounds, dog parks, picnic pavilions, boat launches, ball fields, walking & bike trails & golf. Best sunsets! Tasty Tuesdays is a fun family outing with food trucks, music & a car show. This is a great spot to spend the day.
Toni P — Google review
My grandson is almost 3 and loves to ride his adorable custom name engraved "Schwinn" tricycle here! The water park area is closed right now due to the time of the year (it's cold even in Florida - just not as cold elsewhere). When it is open, it really makes this park even more fun! The sunsets are amazing and you can get some beautiful pictures here. All in all, we've been going to this park since his 38 year old father was his age, Back then we were there primarily for the sports areas-a lot of improvements have been added in the past 38 years (lol) and the park is even more enjoyable.
Sandi M — Google review
Excellent place to spend time with friends and family. Playground, pavilions with grilling stuff, park with turtles, next to waterpark with great choice of slides for 5 years old. We , definitely, would be coming more ofter, as my son just love it!

Yamato Scrub Natural Area, located at 701 Clint Moore Rd, is a serene escape for nature enthusiasts and hikers. The well-maintained trails offer an opportunity to explore the diverse flora and fauna of this preserved habitat, making it perfect for bird-watching and wildlife photography. The area features overhanging palm trees that provide natural shading along the trail, as well as a delightful bridge crossing one of the canals, offering a great spot for photo opportunities.
Nice sand scrub with trails. Hard to believe you are in the midst of Boca with how quiet the walks are.

Nice area to walk for a change of pace. Ten parking spots. You are in the city so not not a quiet place but don't have to worry about cars or bike.
Frank Y — Google review
Nice, reasonably big, and pleasent. Some wildlife life like rabbits and the odd tortoise. No bathroom but if you think about it isn't nature one big toilet?
Arvin R — Google review
A hidden treasure in the middle of nowhere. I heard about the scrubs, and it took a few weeks to figure out where it was on my own before I finally googled the entrance. It was very serene. I am glad there was a cement path. Although you could venture out to the side trails that had a dirt path. I went about 4pm during the week. There are 10 parking spots. One of them handicapped. There were several spots still open, and the people there were a mix of office workers taking a break from local area to a dog walker , tourists, and people like me who love walking in nature. The peace and serene and gentleness of the area were worth a trip. I am a nature bird person. I did see an egret and a beautiful red cardinal swoop by a turtle and a huge butterfly. The real beauty of the place was the vegetation. Highly recommend.
Bonni S — Google review
While the entrance to the area is easy to miss and the parking is very limited, the trails are definitely worth the time. There is a 1/2 to 3/4 mile sidewalk trail that leads to 2 different sand/dirt trails. The trails range from wide open to narrow with brush growth on both sides. While you will definitely hear vehicle traffic for most of your walk/run, the surroundings help you to forget you are so close to 95.
Bryan H — Google review
We loved it! The entrance was a little hard to find, but overall the experience was nice. There's a small parking lot and there's 3 trails, we took the longer one which is around 3 miles (we promised ourselves to come back and do the other trails another day). Even though you can hear the I95 traffic in the background, the vegetation was beautiful and it's perfect for a little scape.
Maria J — Google review
Great wildlife, great landscapes, great walking trails, perfect for any time of the year. Nice trails with great wildlife views. Ensure you get there early and take the bug spray with you along! Cooler days during the spring or autumn are always better. Spectacular sounds of all wildlife and yes take your camera!
MannyG33309 — Google review
This was a very pleasant trail, what a surprise! It’s right in a cozy little nook within Boca. All the trails are very clean and clearly marked, great for everyone. The best trail is the first yellow blaze trail that will be on your left as you walk down the paved trail. There is plenty of shade, and you’re far enough away from I95 that the traffic/train noise does not take away from the calmness of the trail. Some people run on this trail, but it’s wide enough in most places to move over if you’re walking. The other yellow blaze trail is closer to 95, but it’s great for those who want to go further and go through the basin and the tunnel. Cicadas were out on the trees buzzing away several hours after the sun came out, they are peaceful earlier in the morning. With everything developed all over the place, it’s great to see so much effort put in to preserve this area in perpetuity. I would recommend going in the ‘winter’ when it’s 72 degrees out, it’s so much more pleasant than in the hot summer months and there were no insects to worry about. Water and sunscreen is all you need.
