This large parkland offers a botanical garden, a waterfall area & info on Native Hawaiian history.

A wonderful place to visit with family, friends or in a group. A lot of vegetation from all over the island. Rare birds and plants. Unfortunately the waterfall was bone dry due to lack of rain. Still nice to see the beauty what the place has to offer. Definitely a must go if you’re visiting Oahu.
It’s a nice place to visit. It’s all paved and the greenery is very nice. However, if you have to drive from Waikiki just to visit the valley it’s not worth the drive. Better if you combine it with other activities in the same area or maybe swim at the Waimea beach which is very nice. The swim at the falls is not always allowed. Better call ahead to verify.
Such an amazing place! Very fun to explore Please bring cash! There are many nice people along the trail that share with you their music or art. They are all amazing at what they do and are so talented. They only take tips in cash though.
Lots of parking, and a well groomed path make this an easy hike. Be ready to pay admission, but the fee is deflected in the conditions of the park. The path and grounds are groomed nicely, plenty of bathrooms and trash bins make for a great experience. The falls are the star for sure, and changing rooms with life vests are great for swimmers. Recommended if you have time to make the stop!
Beautiful botanical grounds, some cultural sites, an easy paved path to the waterfall, some optional side paths with stairs to see even more of the beautiful plants. Entry to the waterfall is large uneven rocks, I recommend wearing water shoes and not for anyone with mobility issues.
Opening hours are 9 am to 4 pm. Closed on mondays. Price is 25$ which is totally overpriced. It is a 3 km entirely paved walk. You can pay a shuttle 10$ one way. So if you have difficulty to walk you are paying 45$… Overwise it is a 30/45 mins walk. The park is beautiful to reach the cascade. I think you can call to check the recent rain fall as the cascade flows depends on it. Some people go and see very little waterfalls. There is an overcrowded swimming area. It is a very nice place but if you are a family of 4 it is a certain budget and becomes not worth it. If you have a limited budget this is not a must. If you don’t mind paying for an hour excursion then it is pleasant but not fantastic. You can buy the tickets at the door. There is a free parking
Loved walking through the botanical gardens and learning about Hawaiian culture. Such a beautiful place to spend a few hours. The waterfall is nice but lots of people.
Amazing walk through the botanical gardens and ended off with a a beautiful waterfall. Paths are easily walkable, came with my mother and younger child. We stopped in the huts and received a pin after answering some questions. Just a wonderful experience and would recommend it especially to a family. And buy the souvenir book, my daughter had fun checking off all the birds she saw, and used it throughout the rest of our trip.

Absolutely gorgeous beach for laying on the sun and getting a nice tan and watching the waves wash ashore. The waves were pretty rough and can be challenging. The lifeguards are true professionals though and will make sure you aren’t doing anything you shouldn’t be. Get there early if you want free parking. Our friends arrived after we did and had to wait 20 minutes to get a spot.
Stunning North Shore spot. Clear turquoise water, fun cliff jumping, and soft sandy shore. The water is clean and the vibe is adventurous. Can get crowded so arriving early is best.
Beautiful place to watch the surfers or nature. Absolutely beautiful place to pull off the road or into the beach parking lot and spend some time on the North Shore.
Amazing little cove. Easiest snorkeling I could imagine. Plenty of fish. Water is shallow, deepest I found was 5ft. There can be some strong currents when waves break over the barrier rocks but otherwise very calm. Great for kids or anyone new to snorkeling.
Great waves, great sand. Someday the surf is too high for boogie boards, but normally perfect. Has life guards. Cliff jumping if the tide is high enough- Don't try cliff jumping if you're not sure it's safe and deep enough!!! Use reef safe sunblock!
During the summer time there are no waves and the water is so calm, you can swim out super far and see lots of fish. Good for kids 2+ years old. Bathrooms were okay. Parking get there before 9 am to get a spot. Probably my favorite beach on north shore.
Very beautiful beach with cliff jumping. The water was clear and warm. Not too long to get to the beach from the parking. It was busy parking and not enough space but you could wait in your until someone left.
Parking lot is super small and quickly fills up. Parking along the road above the beach is possible. Another solution is to park at the next beach north, then walk back using the sidewalk path (5-6min walk). If it is very crowded, then you can also park at the nearby waterfall park parking lot for $10. The rock at the south end of the beach is where people jump from. The best snorkeling is behind that rock, to the south-west.

Well-known beach to spot sea turtles sunning on the sand, also a scenic surfing destination.

We arrived around 11:15, on a low tide, sunny day. and were honored to see 2 of the turtles 🐢 basking. parking is limited across the street. recommend going on a weekday, not too crowded. the water is clear, lots of rocks
Very chilled beach. Many people come to see the turtles resting at the beach. It's pretty awesome and relaxing. Parking is limited, and you may encounter the "Turtle Traffic " as well due to the popularity. It is better to plan accordingly.
We drove around on the north shore and ended up at this wonderful place where we saw tortoises. They were crossing over the beach into the water. There were a couple of on sight guides and helpers to make sure that tortoises were protected and we're able to reach the water safely. It was an incredible sight to see and our family loved seeing them go across and to the water. Totally recommend doing this with your family.
Too sandy for snorkeling but a nice place to relax and swim. The pillbox trail isn’t far so we did that first and got a nice panoramic view of the beach.
Amazing beach, please respect the honu though. Parking can be tough and not a good spot to swim, but surfing yes!
Stunning beach with clear waters and sea turtles! Knowledgeable and friendly staff are there to ensure turtle safety!
Good place to see turtles on the beach and swimming. Decent visibility and lots of fish in the rocks on the right end of the beach
Love this beach! We always stay further down where it’s a bit quieter—perfect for tanning and swimming. That said, there really needs to be a stronger police or security presence. Way too many people get too close to the turtles or try to feed them, even with clear signs posted at the entrance. It’s frustrating to see people ignore the rules and put the wildlife at risk. People will normally yell at the individuals getting too close to the turtles, so that’s a plus.

This was the first beach we went to on Oahu and loved it. Not quite swimming weather as it was very windy, the water was cold and the waves were huge but we enjoyed very much walking on the beach, seeing the sunset and just being there. I love a good, relaxing beach.
Sunset Beach is beautiful, and it truly lives up to its name; absolutely perfect for sunset. The water itself is generally mellow, with little waves but nothing too strong, making it pleasant for wading or just enjoying the view. A definite must-see if you're on the North Shore.
Went here to watch the sunset...it was a beautiful spot to do so. You had to be patient to find a parking space as it gets busy and a number of people gather to watch it. I recommend getting there at least 30 minutes before sunset.
Absolutely breathtaking! We caught the most magical sunset here — no wonder it’s called Sunset Beach! Colors like this belong in a postcard. Just be careful — the waves can get rough, so swim at your own risk. ⚠️🌅✨🌞🌊⚠️
Sunset Beach is home to the famed crooked/bent/curved palm tree that grows horizontally toward the ocean and makes the perfect backdrop for sunset pix. According to a sign attached to the tree, it is over 100 years old. Must-see iconic spot on Oahu’s North Shore!
Free parking but not swimmable. Locals make it known to not use their little steps, not to even get close to their property. Famous leaning tree is off limits
One of best sunset I have ever seen ❤️. The sun sets very quickly so be sure to come early to enjoy its to the fullest. I went in October, and the waves were pretty strong making it hard to swim, but its great for the surfers.
Beautiful and picturesque! The shoreline was untouched with footprints and it felt like a deserted island. Definitely stop when you’re up in the North Shore!

Truly such a beautiful place on the island. We came by here while we were doing our Circle Tour of the island. You could see lots of sea turtles and the bay is truly gorgeous. There's a little beach just to the East of the parking lot where you can go down in the water and there's also lots of beautiful coral reef structures that you can walk around and check out. I could have spent half the day there to explore everything in the area. They have some great shade trees in the park and you can just sit and watch the ocean.
Large park with plenty of parking. There are some large rocks in the sand. We were able to see a beautiful sunset. Turtles kept popping their heads up. We also saw some jumping fish. Plenty of people setting up their grills and serving up dinner.
Nice park to visit. Plenty of parking spots. The parking lot was mostly empty on a Monday afternoon. Restrooms available and showers too. Basketball courts with a playground for the ones interested.
Hale'iwa Beach Park offers a completely different vibe from the bustling shores of Waikīkī. This beach is untamed, powerful, and truly captivating. I loved the raw, natural beauty and spent hours simply watching the massive, rolling waves and the incredibly skilled surfers who dared to ride them. It’s an inspiring sight that made me wish I could join them out on the water! The atmosphere is wonderfully relaxing. I actually felt so at peace that I ended up taking a blissful nap on the beach, listening to the sound of the crashing surf. This does, however, lead to my one regret: I didn't get up to check for turtles, which I've heard are often spotted in the area or basking on the sand. My one significant complaint, and the reason for a four-star instead of a five-star review, is the condition of the restroom facilities. They were not well taken care of and could really use some maintenance and cleaning to match the natural beauty of the park itself.
One of our favorite beaches on the island! We loved spotting sea turtles in the water by random chance! At 4-5pm they were popping up in the water and we were able to see them snorkeling!! The beach was a bit rocky at first but once you get out a bit further it was great snorkeling! Beautiful view and felt more secluded and quieter compared to other beaches on the island!
That sunset... *chef kiss* Seen a couple turtles swimming around, nice and, but rocky in some spots too. Still, this is one of my favorite beaches on the island. More parking options than many other spots, nice water for swimming, and close to matsumoto's.
Oh My Goodness! This is a little piece of Heaven. There are many sea turtles just hanging out around the rocks (Please remember- DO NOT TOUCH - it is against the law) but you can get into the water and snorkel and they will hang out right near you as long as you leave them alone. The park itself needed some clean up but if everyone did their part it would be helpful. Different areas have you different activities and beautiful views and beaches. From surfers to snorkeling
The park is very nice - a big parking lot and a wonderful sunset view. We were there in July and there were no waves at all, just perfectly safe for kids! However I rate it 4 stars because it's not sandy in the water, hence the water color looks pretty much like Black Sea and it's not convenient to step on the sea bottom

I visited during the winter months so the waves were HUGE and so cool, I've never seen anything like it anywhere else. The sunset was beautiful, as you can see from the photos. There's a lifeguard shack right by where I was sitting and they are so attentive! One even stopped a toddler from running into the ocean when their parents weren't paying attention. Mad respect for those guys, they don't miss a thing! I'll definitely be coming back to this beach in the future.
Pupukea Beach offers a stunning escape for those seeking natural beauty and ocean views. While we initially visited in hopes of snorkeling, the strong waves made the conditions unsafe. Instead, we decided to stay and soak in the breathtaking sunset, and what a spectacular choice that turned out to be! For sunset lovers, this beach is a must-visit. Although the snorkeling conditions weren’t ideal, Pupukea Beach still proved to be a rewarding destination for those who appreciate the grandiosity of nature. If you're looking for a peaceful spot to end your day, this beach is a perfect choice.
Spotted sting ray. Turtles. Plenty of fish. Good area for beginners and experienced snorkeling. Water was clear and warm... colder in the deep area. Mango trees for shade on shore but there is a climb down the rocks to the water. Bring water shoes.
Some of the best and clearest snorkeling around. Beautiful vibrant reefs and a variety of fish. Be wary of currents and conditions and arrive early for best parking. Take signage seriously and only park where allowed
Great place for snorkeling! Protected from waves by a large rock belt. Tons of fish and other sea creatures. Also, restrooms have changing areas and there is a shower near the beach. Parking can be hard to come by, so arrive early.
So, not my favorite place only because it's hell on my feet. Meaning that if you don't have water shoes don't bother trying this place out. Old coral/rock that will ruin your day if you're not careful. Really cool place though as it's pretty protected from the surf. Check it out
Went snorkeling between Sharks Cove and the park. Good shower and bathroom. Water is usually calm in the summer. Did not see lifeguard where we went in, but a lot of people were out. Families played in the shallows. Some scuba guys swam below us checking out the reef.
Cool park just outside of Shark cove. Cool lava field with pockets of tide/storm water. Watch your step as it can be disastrous with the uneven very sharp lava stone.

This place always has an array of eye-catching souvenirs whenever we visit. A few years ago, we saw a peacock crossing the road, and we hoped it might still be living around here, but we didn't see it this year.🦚 Just as we were thinking that, we saw a peacock napping on the patio behind the shop. I wondered if the shop was keeping it... Seeing the peacock made me feel like something good was going to happen, and it made me happy.🦚🥰
fun little spot packed with quirky knick-knacks and local charm. It’s the kind of place you wander into and end up finding a small treasure or two—perfect for souvenirs or just something fun to take home. While it’s mostly filled with trinkets and novelty items, the laid-back vibe and friendly staff make it worth the stop. If you’re strolling through town and want a lighthearted shopping break, it’s a nice place to check out. I liked it!
Beautiful gift shop with a wide variety of unique items. While some things are a bit pricey, the selection makes it worth a visit.
I absolutely love this place and make sure to visit every time I go to the North Shore. Shane is truly a gem of a human being. The store has everything you need to share your trip with loved ones. My personal favorites are the shirts, hats, and beads. Enjoy your visit, and thank you!
Nice little shop with a great variety of Hawaiian souvenirs. Great quality & Reasonably priced. Great people! Worth a stop. Highly recommend. Fan the locals.
Just went here today. The young man owner was extremely helpful and his prices were reasonable compared to other shops in the area. It's a family owned establishment which was started by his grandparents in 1986! I would come here again for souvenirs if we ever get back. 😊 🌴
My family visited this shop a couple weeks ago and we found some pretty cool stuff! Prices were pretty good too! + a cool coffee mug I got from here!
Really cute store but sadly an anklet I bought two days ago for $20 has already broken :/ I don’t recommend purchasing jewelry here.

The beach offers an exceptional vista, particularly during sunset. The western ocean and northern mountains provide a picturesque backdrop, enhancing the experience of observing the shoreline. The timing of the visit, near sunset, resulted in a tranquil and uncrowded atmosphere. The location is conveniently situated near local shops and restaurants, making it an ideal spot to conclude the day with a stunning Hawaiian sunset.
Beautiful beach. Beware of the crazy woman that will stalk, yell, and harass if turtles are nearby. She sat behind a tree for over an hour staring at us while laying down on a beach blanket. Then she started having a meltdown on the beach, barking commands at people like they were dogs while taking pictures of green sea turtles.
I love that Beach! Beautiful water, beautiful colors, loved watching people surfing, especially the little kids learning. I hope I can go again someday 🏖️🌊
Haleiwa Beach Park is undeniably a beautiful spot, offering stunning views and a peaceful atmosphere. The park itself is well-maintained, with a large open area, nice walking paths, and a great place to relax by the water. However, we did feel a bit uncomfortable during our visit. There were a number of homeless individuals in the area, and some were quite aggressive, which made us feel uneasy at times. While we understand that this is a concern in many urban parks, I would suggest that tourists exercise caution when visiting, especially if traveling with family or small children. While the park itself is beautiful, it might not be the most comfortable or safe place for everyone, depending on the time of day and your comfort level with such situations. We recommend being aware of your surroundings and possibly visiting during busier hours if you choose to go.
This was hands down THE BEST beach to spend our day to catch some sun rays. The locals were very friendly and fun, even when a wave knocked me on my butt and swept me up, twice. When I finally gained my footing, they applauded and made small talk. 🤣 It was fun to watch all of the surfers. We were on vacation for my birthday for a week and we were staying down by Waikiki Beach. (Not so fun and for a different review 🤣🤭)
Had a work-gathering on this Saturday morning at 10am. Was very impressed with the amount of available parking and the satisfactory condition of the restrooms. Somebody else reserved our site but said it was convenient. Beautiful day and a great place to get together.
Nice beach park with parking, restroom, shower, picnic area. There are other beach parks next to each others as well. Wide sand beach area with limited shade near water edge. Some bring beach chairs, umbrella, or tents. It is also perfect place for sun bathing. Not very crowded in end of August.
Great park to spend a day at. You are close to the shops and you don't get stuck in the traffic near waimea bay. If you can get in before 9am most busy days you can find a parking spot. If the waves are big... get there a little earlier.

Great hike. Pretty steep until the last little bit. Mostly shaded hike. If it’s rained recently it will be muddy and your shoes will be really dirty. And it will be very slippery. Would recommend going in tennis shoes, bring bug spray. We (fit 60 year old and semi fit 27 year old) got up in 25 minutes not going that fast. It was about .6 miles up. Apple Watch imagine is of the climb up. Going down takes longer. Took my mom and aunt (50-60 years old) almost an hour to come down. Parking right at the trailhead, water fountains close by.
A cool little hike. It was a little muddy and slippery not good for sandals but they do have ropes to hold on to for most of those parts. The nature is very nice along the trail and the view of the ocean is great. Maybe 25m hike up a little steep at parts but not very hard.
Easy, short hike with absolutely beautiful views! The trail is well-marked and not too steep—perfect for a quick out-and-back adventure. Great for beginners or anyone looking to enjoy nature without a long trek. Ideal spot to relax, take in the scenery, and snap some photos.
Incredible views! It’s a short trail and fairly easy, but steep shortly after entering the jungle. Ropes are there to assist. If you aren’t sure footed bring regular hiking shoes, otherwise I’ve seen plenty do it in slippers or running shoes. If you are just hitting the pillbox and coming down you probably only need a little water (1-2L), the most of the hike is in the shade. Otherwise there are some loops up there that hikers and mountain bikers use to explore the area, but the pillbox is the best view in my opinion. I like to hit this hike and walk across the street to lounge on the beach and soon after. Perfect setup to do so. Plus, there’s good local food just down the road maybe a mile. Respect the trail, don’t leave trash!
There's a homemade sign warning that this trail is difficult and to make sure you're prepared. Pay heed. It's definitely not a hike to do in sandals. Lots of elevation gain and unstable surfaces. The view is worth it though.
Good hike. Quite steep for the first 0.5 miles with a lot of roots and rocks to navigate. Definitely wear shoes with grip and I would probably avoid if rainy. I think the first part of the trail would be very difficult if wet and muddy. The view from the pillbox is beautiful and the loop trail after you reach the pillbox is very flat and peaceful. It is shaded almost the whole way. The trail is hard to follow at times. I would highly recommend using AllTrails app to guide you. Overall we enjoyed it!
It was a steep climb but had ropes to help and then an easy peaceful walk to the Pillbox. The abundance of roots acted as steps but also potential tripping hazards. I had to catch my breath twice and I'm in moderate shape. Definitely a good little workout with a nice view as your reward 😊
It’s a great hiking spot to go with your dog! It took us about 2 hours to finish because my dog needed a few rest breaks. It gets really hot, so I recommend starting around 8 a.m. if you can, and make sure to bring plenty of water!

We saw many creatures here: angel fish, sea urchins, crabs, and more! The coves were very pretty. We went a little before sunset! I would highly recommend water shoes here or tennis shoes for climbing around on the rocks.
Great place to snorkel on the north shore. It is crowded particularly in the initial area which is mostly a washing pool for little kids. Saw tons of good size fish in the less crowded area to the right of the starting area.
Sharks Cove on Oahu's North Shore is an absolute gem for snorkelers and marine life enthusiasts. The cove is known for its crystal-clear waters and vibrant underwater ecosystem, making it a perfect spot for both beginners and experienced snorkelers. The natural lava rock formations create a series of tide pools on the southern side, providing a safe and shallow area to explore. On the northern side, the cove opens up to deeper waters, where you can find a diverse array of tropical fish, sea turtles, and even the occasional moray eel. However, visiting Sharks Cove does come with some considerations. Parking is free but very limited, so arriving early (around 8 to 9 AM) is highly recommended to secure a spot. The cove can get crowded, especially during the summer months when the surf is calm, and the snorkeling conditions are ideal. In the winter, the waves can be quite rough, making snorkeling dangerous, so it's best to avoid the water during this season. Facilities at Sharks Cove are basic, with public bathrooms and outdoor showers available, but there are no lifeguards on duty, so swim at your own risk. Be mindful of your belongings, as the area is known for occasional thefts, and avoid leaving valuables in your car. Overall, Sharks Cove is a must-visit for anyone looking to experience the beauty of Oahu's marine life. Just be sure to plan ahead and take necessary precautions to ensure a safe and enjoyable visit.
Gorgeous snorkeling. If you get a quiet day of surf then the right side just outside the cove (facing out to sea) is deeper and allows a bit more exciting snorkelling
Beautiful quiet beach to sunbath and relax. Great for sunbathing, snorkeling, and diving. Decent amount of parking stalls. Foodland is just across the street if you did not bring along food or drinks for a picnic.
Great place to snorkel, however extremely rocky, so you will want to have snorkel/reef shoes. Parking can be difficult if you don’t get there super early. Not a beach to layout at for sure but worth seeing.
I thought this was our best snorkeling experience in the area. We arrived before 9am and were able to get a parking space right up front. Walking down to the beach you have to be careful, especially if you go to the right where there are large sharp rocks. Also the waves getting into and out of the water were a bit rough. But once you’re in the water it is fine. I recommend wearing water shoes to protect your feet from getting cuts. Overall worth it, we saw a variety of different fish and swam through some schools of fish. No turtles though. Directly across the street is a snorkel rental place and some food trucks with picnic tables.
This is a great little spot to do free snorkeling. Bring some water shoes as there are a lot of rocks you need to climb over in the water. The fish can be quite big and theres even an eel present

A variety of prints available, some cute and fun others beautiful. Randomly walked in and left with a print of 3 little turtles on the shore
Beautiful place , Polo Gallery is the only place that makes you feel like you are breathing in the unique Hawaiian scent, the ocean, and nature. Thank you for beautiful inspiration to me
Best Art Gallery in Haleiwa! Friendly owner. Huge selection of original prints, easy to take home. Local artist profiles via QR Codes!
Art is nice but shipping is excessive ($50 for a 24x24 print by standard USPS). Package had a crushed corner and print was damaged (bent corner) because gallery couldn’t be bothered to actually wrap the print in anything (no protective corners, bubble wrap, or even paper); they simply throw it into a flat cardboard box. Gallery takes zero responsibility.
Cool modern. surf. art. to bring back home ;) Only a visit itself is chill and fun.
When you want something uniquely created in Hawaii! This is the place. Amazing paintings by local artist.
Beautiful prints, absolutely terrible customer service. If you like any of the prints here, I would suggest you buy directly from the artist online. I’ll be doing that in the future. Was here with some friends and bought a few items. The woman working was dismissive and haughty to us but acted nice, interested, and polite to the older white couple in the store beside us. It was quite a contrast to see and not in a good way. I also asked for a piece of tape to secure my prints together and with an annoyed voice the woman said she would need to start charging me for the “supplies.” Which was three pieces of tape.. Another friend ordered a few hundred $ worth of prints and they called her back saying they made a mistake on the price of insurance and would need to charge her more or else they wouldn’t give her it. Rather than accept their mistake on providing the wrong $ amount, they gave her the option to pay more for THEIR mistake, or cancel the order entirely.
I love this gallery! It’s cool, hip, and welcoming. Every time I’m in the North Shore I find myself spending so much time browsing all the artists. I enjoy art that has a Hawaiian flare to it and Polu Gallery always has pieces that are both iconic and new in style! I follow them on Instagram to add a little bit of Hawaii to my feed and I love it!

Such a wonderful gallery show. Walfrido and Wyland were wonderful and showed what true artists they are, making the paintings come alive right before our eyes. We had to get an original from Wyland. Nothing like having him work with our daughter to complete the work. It is an experience that I know we won’t ever forget. The staff (unlike a lot of previous comments) were warm and inviting. Yes things are not “cheap” but then again you would not expect them to be for artists of this quality. Nani was very helpful and not at all “pushy”. She advised us as to pricing and did not try to “upsell” us. We will definitely keep in touch as they had some new pieces Wyland introduced today (necklace pieces hand painted).
My husband first went to the gallery and the lady was extremely rude, did not speak to him and kept looking at him as if he was about to steal something. Then when I went, she was kind and welcoming. Clearly all the comments pointing the sellers racism were true. Avoir at all cost!!!
Walking around this art gallery was pretty cool, saw some great pieces. Hosts was friendly and helpful but ultimately didn't buy anything because we just wasn't expecting to find an art gallery among the touristy lifestyle that Honolulu offers. However there is an online boutique for it.
Absolutely horrible customer service. Hostess did not greet our small party. Very racist to local people, or anyone they “think” will not be a potential customer. Would not recommend if I could give less than a star I would. Absolutely horrible experience.
Every visit over the past fifteen plus years I've left disappointed or disgusted by the staff and Robert Wyland himself. The way Robert truly treats people is atrocious. From telling a group of wounded warriors he could never take the cut in pay to suggesting another artist kiss the ground he walks on for selling a painting for a certain dollar amount, it felt better to leave than invest into inflated ego. The value of everything in the place is absolutely phony, and two people walking in at separate times will be given different appraisals. The gallery itself is downright ignorant to locals, artists, and anyone they don't deem worthy. The one star goes to Walfrido which is the best thing the gallery has going for itself.
I went to this gallery with the expectation of purchasing something today. I was greeted by this guy who seemed friendly. I could not find anything I liked but was looking around when this older lady approached me. She asked me if I had any questions and I said no and she looked at me condescendingly like I was some filth and didnt deserver to be there. I will not step foot inside this place again. Worst customer service ever!!
Stopped by today walking around the North Shore Marketplace and the older gentleman working in the gallery was condescending and just rude. When I asked him about an artist that stood out to me and if they have their own website to sell prints he said “you buy your art online?” and “this is the website” in a very condescending tone. Doing the local artists a disservice and very poor customer service. I and many people do in fact buy art online and this artist did in fact have their own website to purchase prints from. Don’t waste your time here in an otherwise beautiful town of Haleiwa. Go to Polu Gallery down the road, 5/5 stars every time.
The art may be beautiful, beyond measure... but the staff is snooty and unfriendly and the art is overpriced. We came in with our kids to teach them about art. The staff tried to teach them that Wayland art is worth more than they are. We can buy beautiful art other places. This is not the only gallery with something amazing to look at.

Food, Art, and Beautiful scenery! A very worth while stop when the farmers market is open, when it’s not open there is also a trail leading to the waterfall off the mountain. Depending on weather conditions you’ll be allowed to swim in it. A very beautiful place to come and visit!
We were lucky to go there on the day of the farmers market(Thursday). One fruit and vegetable stall and others are more like home made products. The produce is locally grown, some local fruits that looked fresh.
I'm not sure if vendors have just dwindle down but this was such a sad farmers market. We hiked through waimea valley and stopped by at the end of the hike and found only 6-8 stalls: 2 food vendors, 1 honey/jam vendor, a few art/clothing, and literally only 1 fruit stand. Was greatly disappointed that they called this a farmers market!
This is NOT a Farmer's Market. There was ONLY one stall selling a few vegetables and fruits; I was disappointed. It was a tourist market place with cooked food, crafts, body products, jewelry, class products, clothes, and so forth. I gave only one star, because I went there to buy items that is usually at a regular farmer's market. The actual presentation of a tourist market place was okay. The name should be changed to Tourist Market Place. Saying it is a Farmer's Market is very misleading.
Beautiful place Thursday farmer market
Love the place, been many times. It has a nice chill vibe there. It’s beautiful and usually has local musicians there performing. As well take time to check out the Waimea Botanical Garden, it’s worth the time and money.
We drove here from Honolulu, it wasn’tworth it: couple of vendors with fresh produce and couple of art vendors ($$$). We didn’t buy any souvenirs I hoped to find, so left after 30 min. Disappointing.
It sounds like a good place to pick up some homemade snacks and a little lunch to eat up by the big falls.

We’ve gone to Hawaii two times. And this location is one of our favorite on Oahu. Not only do they have a seven brothers restaurant which is the best food restaurant on the island by the way. but they also have these amazing little shops where if you’re not careful you’ll leave with an arm full, but be broke. A nice wonderful laid-back place to visit and play on the beach or better yet do the kayak up the river or take the paddle boards up the river. This is a must go if you’re in Oahu.
One of the cutest towns I’ve ever been to. We had just snorkeled early morning, with a company in the local harbor, and walked around early morning, with nobody around. Total bliss. We loved it so much we came back in the early evening and enjoyed some fresh fruit and banana bread. Yum!
Great stores. Close proximity to the beach , surfing and surf lessons. Shopping , collectibles , dinning , shaved ice and more. Haleiwa is a must visit Hawaii destination.
Clean bathrooms and well-kept grounds. There are cute wild animals strolling around.
Haleiwa is a charming surf town on Oahu’s North Shore, known for its laid-back vibe, historic plantation-style buildings, and local shops. It’s a great place to explore art galleries, grab a bite from food trucks or local eateries, and enjoy iconic shave ice. With beautiful beaches nearby and a welcoming atmosphere, Haleiwa perfectly blends small-town charm with island adventure.
May2025 Thriving town in the North Shore area with a lot of interesting stores. Haleiwa means home of the frigate bird 🐦 🐦‍⬛
It nice to see thw Old Haleiwa Town. Many shops to buy from. You cannot go hungry because thre are many food stalls.
So much to do. Shopping for just about anything. Food selections. Art Galleries. I love Lemuria. Beautiful crystals, Jewelry, incense a favorite spot.

Great place to watch the sunset! Breathtaking views of Mt.Kaala and Kaena Point across the bay on one side of the park and Puaena Point, white sand beach, and surf on the other. Picnic tables and bathroom facilities make it a great place for picnics and walking around the park. Beautiful, huge Monkeypod and Ironwood trees.
Beautiful waves crashing in on rocks. Easy access, close parking lot. This is NOT a swimming beach but definitely a beach you should check out to see some incredible waves and unexpected blowholes
Great beach park to have a nice picnic at! Here is also where the Haleiwa Metric Century ride started. You can ride your bike around this area for a stunning view.
Great little area, lots of locals camping out when we were there and they were very polite. One of them was spear finishing and they caught an octopus and cut it up for bait, not sure if that is legal or not but it was interesting to see. We had fun just chilling there and enjoying the turtles swimming nearby.
Love the beach. Lots of homeless and people bathing themselves with the outdoor shower. Very strong current, lots of rocks, not for swimming or surfing. Over all its quiet and beautiful.
Our family LOVES this beach park. We have called here a few times and it is awesome! A few things to note... there is no soap in the restrooms (like all the other beach parks) and the gates close at random times after dark. Don't think you are safe because the sign says a specific time... they do it when they want.
A large, spacious and quiet place with nice expansive views, lots of parking, public restrooms, not frequented by a lot of people. Seems to have a constant ocean breeze and better for the view than for swimming. An area of ironwood trees offers moderate shade during the day and afternoon. Mornings are pleasant for walking as there is not much traffic. A gated beach that closes at night.
Kai aka Bay Beach was nice, but it was a bit rocky with quite a bit of volcanic reefs. If you are not careful when walking on the reefs, you may be cut up pretty well if you happen to fall. Appropriate shoes is highly recommended, bring your camera, and enjoy taking some cool pics and vids as you see crabs scurry about.

A must stop for travelers to North Shore Oahu. Something for everyone at this cool pit stop. Home of Matsumoto Shave Ice. A must do! Surf wear from Town & Country; Aloha Shirts from Kahala; Island Trendsetters from Mahina and Tasty Coffee from Island Vintage.
Most shops really good, parking here always a pain. Coffee shop stopped brewing coffee 30 minutes before close??? WHAT? You are an expensive coffee shop not brewing coffee because it takes too much effort to clean?? Sad.
Opening hours are 7 am to 9 pm. Few shops and dining. Shave ice. Dining. Coffee shop. Jewelry. Island wear. Art. Cute little shopping place.
Cute rest stop on scenic drive with nice boutiques and refreshments
Bathrooms were terrible. Porta-potty's were "full" and lines were long!! The stores were clean and well stocked. Matsumoto shave ice was ridiculously long to wait , so we went to Aoki across the street. And it was even better !! Must try!! Great gift shop too!
Lots of nice shops. Shaved ice shop is great. Tons of flavors. Some local made goodies shops.
Nice little shopping area on the north shore. Parking can be difficult during busy times. We parked across the street & walked. Matsumoto Shave ice stand can cause quite a bit of congestion. They also had live music in the courtyard area.
Nice shops in North Shore to visit.
