If visiting the El Paso are the quaint town of Mesilla is worth stopping at. Absolutely adorable. Hard to spend a whole day there however. A good morning or afternoon (e.g., 2-3 hrs, probably 4 max). Visit the artisan shops, enjoy a relaxing meal, and there was a artisan market on the Plaza when we were there. We stayed in El Paso and spent time there on our way to the White Sands Natilnal Park. The two were a great way to spend a day.
This area is worth stopping at if you are in the area. It's a place of American history. There is lots to see and lots to do. There are many small shops and restaurants to eat at. Billy the Kid was arrested in the area and held at the jail here. Los Postas and Andres are a must to eat at. If you don't eat at Los Postas at least go inside and check it out.
Really cute place to visit! Plenty of shops and history to learn. Lots of food options s and everyone is so kind and helpful.
Attended a charming folk art sale at the Mesilla Plaza. It was followed by delightful, talented Mexican dancers and great musicians!
Great place to visit. There lots of interesting history around this area. I recommend going to the Double Eagle.
Beautiful historic town with great restaurants and, shops, and church. Take your time walking around the town and reading the information!
Where are the amenities in this area? This entire mesilla area has no shaded parking for travelers with dogs, no public restrooms (while many of the businesses dont have restrooms either), the handicapped parking (full) is located on the only curb without a ramp, and the only drinking fountain in the entire embarrassment is turned off. This is the middle of the desert, 100+ degrees, and Mesilla can't provide any tap water for the tourists to drink? The staff at the big church are also incredible ungodly. As a full-time traveler since 2014, i can confidently say, its not worth going out of your way to visit this area.
Clean, beautiful, historic, quiet, friendly. Lots of cute shops but not open till after 11AM

Great area for short to moderate hikes, you chose your level. There are several miles of beautiful hiking trails. The most popular hike is a 3 mile total out and back to see Dripping springs and ruins of an historic mountain camp and sanitarium. The hike is spectacular into the base of the Organ Mountains. This is a fee area and there is a visitor center with maps, information and helpful staff/volunteers.
This morning’s chilly walk to Dripping Springs Natural Area was exactly what my soul needed. The trail is easy and accessible, making it perfect for a slow, mindful pace. I took some time to meditate along the way, and the quiet surroundings made it feel like the entire space was holding that stillness for me. The air was crisp, the landscape serene, and the energy incredibly grounding. Whether you’re looking to clear your head, connect with nature, or just enjoy a peaceful stroll, this spot is a gem. Grateful for places like this that make it so easy to breathe and be.
This trail is amazing. I loved everything about it. It’s not an easy climb because of the 500+ feet of elevation gain in 1.5 miles, but it’s not a technical trail and doesn’t present any danger as long as you can hike or run on gravel. Just wear good shoes and sunscreen and bring water. The BLM volunteers at the center are very helpful. Be sure to pay your $5 parking fee!
Really enjoyed this hike! It was amazing, so beautiful and a few tarantulas were out to see. Weather was perfect!!
Gateway to multiple trails ranging from half-hour, easy/ beginner up to 9hr expert/ very hard. Check your All Trails, Strava, Caltopo or other trails maps for details on how much is out here.
Impressive views of the Organ mountains. Water spigot near the la cueva trailhead and picnic area. Also available at the visitor center. It's a fee area covered by America the beautiful parks pass. It was raining most days I was there but when the suns out there's little shade. Be prepared
Great hiking trail to abandoned resort and dripping spring. Went in morning around 9 am and saw a rattlesnake on the trail!
Beautiful place to see! My dog wasn't feeling well so we didn't make it too far but was still incredibly Beautiful

This is not so little gem of a museum in Las Cruces. We've been to Las Cruces sooo many times and wished we had visited this place sooner. It's extremely child friendly and has immersive exhibits. My son loved the kids area, the farming equipment and the animals. The staff is sooo sweet and very informative.
Such a fun place, 7 bucks a person is so cheap for like 7 museums, animals everywhere, art, history, biology, and culture lessons, tons of interactive areas for kids and videos for teens and adults to understand and just so much here, very great time, we planned on visiting for an hour but it took all day to see everywhere
Nice museum but missed the children activities. Seeing the cows, longhorn, and other animals was great. Like Heart of The Desert wines have a store there. Got my pistachios 💜
This museum is a great and wonderful place to take your family and kids. It's always nicely maintained and tons of exhibits. The see:)
We started out on the farm and saw cows, sheep, and horses. There was a lot of old farm equipment with descriptions of what they were used for. The museum had history on Billy the Kid and replicas of old houses and a mercantile store.
This was a super fun place to visit. A large number of live farm animals make it an adventure to see. A lot of significant history on display to enjoy. Great indoor museum as well. Highly recommended.
Really well done and interesting museum…worth a visit. The section on Billy the Kid and the Lincoln County War was fascinating. Added bonus…the awesome gift shop has wine tasting!
Stopped by the museum on a road trip with the family and we absolutely loved it. It’s very well curated and you get way more than what you pay for. I recommend going early to see everything this museum has to offer.

Slide 1 of 8
This was a large farmers market. Several blocks of vendors and food. A lot of handmade jewelry, pottery, paintings, photographs, just to name a few. Live music playing. Every vendor we spoke to was very nice. On this day, there was one vendor selling produce. It closes at 1pm, so get there early to take it all in.
I really loved this farmers market. SO many unique items, I wanted to buy it all! I’m definitely coming back soon. The vibe was also great, there were a few musicians and nice people everywhere!
This is such a cool experience and very dog friendly. I would advise to show up early specially if you want to buy fresh produce, that is the first thing that goes right away. I loved walking around and checking out the different vendors, but it was really nice to see tons of musicians throughout the street doing their thing. This is definitely an all ages activity kind of farmers market.
This is one of the best farmers markets I've gone too... Dog friendly and lots of fun crafts, art, local grown or made food. The vendors are great it's fun to support the community and get unique items and flavors.
I love the farmers market they have so many neat things to check out and everyone is so friendly. I love the live music. Not only are there outdoor shops but there are also indoor shops where you can go inside into the air conditioning to cool off if you need to
This is one of the best farmers markets you will ever visit in the USA. It has something for everybody. Everything about it is perfect. I just wish in the winter It started a little later and went on till about 3pm, but in summer, you don’t want to be there much past 1pm as it starts to get very hot. Luckily, it opens early around 8am Saturdays are great as they close off the whole downtown Main Street so it’s very pedestrian friendly. While you’re in downtown Las Cruces, there’s some great cafés and a really nice art museum and cultural center so plan to be there a while if you’re visiting from out of town. When it gets hot visit some of the indoor places and Coas bookstore. There are musicians who rotate positions throughout the market help them out give them some cash, they are working hard. Also great food trucks. I love everything about this market. Dogs are allowed but their paws will get hot and they will need water and shade. So please take care of your K9 friends. There are lots of unique and handmade items which as far as I know is a requirement to be a participant in this market no mass produced stuff is allowed, though some of it may sneak in. But 99% of what you see here is handmade by the crafters and home grown food from small local farms.
The best Farmers Market around. Great variety of items for sale. Truly the best kettle corn every is Uncle Banjo’s Kettle Corn!!! There are hundreds of amazing vendors at this market with a variety of offerings from vegetables, breads and baked goods, earrings, art and more. Plan on spending the whole day here with the family as the also have various street artists and entertainment. Make sure to visit all the shops on main streets too.
We're in town from Oshkosh, WI visiting family who suggested we check out the Farmers Market as we're art and craft fans as well as the food one finds at a Farmers Market. Started at Organ Mountain Outfitters, that is a great store whose profits are partially shared feeding children and more. I love shopping local but it's always more enjoyable when the business shares it wealth locally as well. There was so much to see and do. I very much enjoyed the local musicians sharing their talents. There was a guitarist playing a sort of bluesy tune and a young man singing a beautiful Mexican melody in full dress. I'm sure he was singing about a lost love or 🤷‍♀️. It was lovely. Ate a breakfast burrito from Cocina Mexicana Express at the recommendation of a family member. Truly the BEST food truck food ever. If you haven't waited in his line for anything on his menu you're missing out. I will warn you, the portions are not small. I'm thinking about going again next weekend just to have this one more time before leaving town. Found a lot of great artisans sharing jewelry, clothing, paintings, the best and most affordable wax melts from Smelly Sam's (I think that's their name). They had scents I've never smelled before and I've been using a wax melting pot for years. It's the perfect size Market, not too big you don't enjoy and just enough to have something for everyone.

I like colleges. You'll usually find (at least) a few intelligent people hangin' around. On this particular day, however, no one was on campus. COVID-19, don't you know?
I've lived in Garcia, Cervantes, and I'm currently in family housing. You can't beat the convenience but I've been consistently underwhelmed with their response times to work orders (multiple roof leaks, swamp cooler not working) and family housing units are like ovens in the summer. At least the community is quiet and there are nice parks for kids or walking your dog close by. Plus there are decent sized back yards.
I lived in Garcia for all of 3 months at the most & then got out as quickly as I could. My stay at campus housing was doomed from the start, there is no roommate matching service-they just pair you with whoever. I had a dirty, disrespectful roommate who made no attempt to connect with me whatsoever, & then stopped talking to me all together after drunk screaming at me at around 4 AM. I approached my resident assistant with complaints but no action was taken, & I was told to “show my roommate a little Jesus”, which is not really a valid solution for uncleanliness. After moving back home, I realized NMSU was not the college for me, & I believe this housing issue plays a large part of me leaving, which is unfortunate. Terminating my contract was the most difficult thing as the staff was unhelpful & rude at times; I probably went back & forth to the Housing office about 7 times before finally terminating the contract, which is ridiculous & unnecessary. Something needs to change here since they added the rule that all first year students coming out of district must live on campus, this left a terrible impression of New Mexico State for me.
The people that work here are rude, non-punctual, and don't care about the students. They make the housing contracts year long so that they can trap you in residential charges. The employees all the way from department to individual dorm offices don't communicate with each other. They claim to always be busy, but the offices are ghost town. The amount they charge for dorms are unrealistic a room/closet SHARED with one other person and a bathroom SHARED with three other people is roughly $480 a month. And these are some of the cheapest dorms. It is so much cheaper to just live off campus, you could save hundreds. But you could save thousands, not even enrolling. Go to UTEP instead.
Dan Foley, the Chamisa Village Resident Director, is possibly one of the worst employees I've ever had the displeasure of working with. There has been constant electrical issues in my apartment (forcing me to spend several weeks in winter with my room getting into the 50s some nights) because he refused to listen to complaints or act until I brought in a third party. The bug issue with my apartment wasn't even dealt with until I got hives because he told us several times that the housing department does not deal with pest control (They do in fact gas). Even then they only paid for the doctor's appointment and pest control showed up TWO MONTHS later. He is full of attitude, often leaves without leaving adequate instructions for the RAs, will constantly redirect a resident to another department despite the issue being HIS department. He should not work there, and I no longer want to live on campus because I know now with certainty that he does not care about this housing or anyone else.
Seems beneficial until you realize that you and your roommate are spending somewhere in the ballpark of 1000$ a month to share one small room and a bathroom with two others. Breaks their own "quiet hour" rules by holding school-sponsored parties with loud music that go nearly all night on normal weekdays. Laundry is unreasonably expensive.
I live here currently, it's super close to the university I save tons of money just from not using gas haha and I skip the traffic!
It is very comfortable living in this area because it is easy to get to school by bus or walking 🙃

Mind blowing place. I can't believe it's free. As a person who loves stone/gems/rocks and anything of that nature this place was amazing. I was in awe the entire time.
Really cool little museum, and free admission. It really exceeded my expectations.
This museum is nothing short of excellent. We had a great experience as a family and there is definitely a lot to look at! Some stuff we have never even seen! Gideon, an employee there let us hold a meteorite that was once a planet. It was truly an amazing experience and one that we will remember as a family forever! We would highly recommend to anyone we know!
This is a great museum. One it's free (donations accepted), two it's breathtaking. You walk in to the museum and on the right are these gorgeous crystals and on the left and in back beautiful petrified woods from all types of trees. The colors of both are just beautiful. The collection is amazing but that's not all. There is a room of fossils as well. Dinosaur bones and skeletons from different creatures millions of years old like a Giant Ground Sloth and a Baby Woolly Mammoth. So very interesting. Worth a stop to look around.
Great museum. Enjoyed the exhibits of minerals and skeletons
This place is for anyone of any age. Both my mom and my 2.5 year old toddler were loving it! Really cool dinosaur and petrified wood stuff! It was quite small but perfect size for a toddler, in and out in 30-45 minutes.
Quiet and peaceful environment with so many artifacts to see. Even had a kid corner with activity sheets. I was able to enjoy the museum, while my 5 year old could entertain himself and still be close by. My 9 year old loved the chance at seeing a dinosaur femur and view the multiple geodes.
Amazing little museum full of spectacular fossils, minerals and petrified wood. So many wonderful items. What an amazing donation from the Zuhl family. Just outstanding. I would definitely go back and take my friends, and recommend it to everyone I know. One suggestions for the museum: Please label eveything completely. There is a sheet that lists information about the petrified wood, however, there are many beautiful spheres that aren't labeled. Improving the labeling of the items would definitely improve visitors' understanding and the entire experience.

Loved this area, especially the Pine Tree Trail loop. Also did the Dripping Springs hike but it wasn't as exciting in mid-April. Staff at AB Cox were super friendly. You get good views of the Needles while driving on Baylor Canyon Road.
Great little hike to some ruins and a dripping spring. Be sure to watch for grasshoppers, locusts, tarantulas, snakes (we didn't see any) and deer. The ruins are really cool, you can imagine lots of people there. The gravel road is not the greatest to hike on, so bring supportive shoes.
Hiking here never disappoints. Plenty of trail opportunities and the temps are usually moderate in November. Outstanding scenery. Just east of Las Cruces on Dripping Springs Road.
The best place to see the sunset in lovely Las Cruces. Uncrowded. I take my almost 80 yo father here to see the sunsets every time we visit. It’s easy to get a great view and even photos from your car. Bring water and don’t expect to find restrooms.
Excellent hiking area. Check out my hikes on YouTube Tim Running Outdoor Adventures
Didn't do much hiking as it was pretty hot (late July). That being said, desert life is both unique and amazing! You should have the chance to see the amazing views of the mountain range, but also a variety of plants and wildlife if you keep alert. I would recommend coming earlier in the spring or later in the year when the weather is cooler and hiking a little nicer. Temps hit over 100 for us so we stayed closer to the parking area.
Trail to waterfall took about 45 mins with grandkids. They played in the water for a bit and used sticks and rocks. Fun time!
This is one of our favorite places in the Last Cruces area for hiking. Lots of well marked trails and a great visitor center.

Beautiful hike. It was pretty easy and the trail was well marked.
Beautiful trail. Also nice because it's about 10 degrees cooler than the valley below.
The trail is clearly marked the whole way. It's an uphill climb into the narrow canyon where there is a little waterfall. Stunning views and sunny skies made this hike unbelievably enjoyable! I would definitely go early as it does warm up by early afternoon. And, bring plenty of water for you and your pup (if you bring your best friend) as there isn't any water access along this 3 mile trail.
Came across this hike on Google Maps and really loved it. The trails on Google Maps aren't entirely accurate but AllTrails is. I recommended taking your first right when the path splits and then navigating towards the trail to the falls. It's not easy to get lost or anything! Falls were a trickle when I was there in March but still beautiful. The rock formations were my favorite! And it's free.
Beautiful canyon. One of my favorite places to go hiking. After the summer rains you can even see a waterfall. I have been hiking there in several occasions, it is always different depending on the time of the year. It is nice in the winter when the snow caps the peaks.
Very nice beginner trail! Could use more detailed information about which trail includes scenery wise however they both end at the same place. Waterfall was a very small trickle with a swarm of wasps below as of 5 May 18. Bring water, sunscreen and hats.
Parking for RVs specially marked which was awesome. Gravel slight uphill hike in, 1 hour round trip to get to the waterfall. Beautiful views of the mountain. We had a baby in a carrier and dog on leash. Would do this hike again.
A nice alternative or addition to the Dripping Springs trail. No fee to park here. Beautiful scenery and a nice loop trail up to the rocks that form the Organ Mountains. Taking some of the side paths gives you some elevation variation unlike some of the other trails in the area that are strictly up the slope then down the slope.

A great way to spend an hour. If you have any questions greater than where's the restroom you're out of luck! There is a nice exhibit on dinosaur trackways, a minizoo of small reptiles and a kids playroom. Right now there is an excellent photography exhibition of Clyde Butcher. The cultural museum was also well done, but created more questions than answers.
This is a small museum that has some very interesting history exhibits as well as live reptiles and insects. It has a number of exhibits that are specifically designed for children. It only takes about 30 minutes to slowly wander around, so not a huge time commitment to visit. They have a unique exhibit of a trackway from the Permian period. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. Overall worth a look.
Although a small museum but with an impressive collection of artifacts of flora fauna animals wildlife that live in the chihuahuan desert. Superior explanation of prehistoric history going back to the time of the dinosaurs and how the dinosaurs remains or their fossils led to what is called the Permian basin. I enjoyed the organization the space, how the animals were all displayed, dinosaur bone collections gave me a better understanding of New Mexico's role in human history
Very cool little museum with live animals display. That snapping turtle is a feisty one. There's a beautiful pair of petrified wood and a T-Rex skull amongst others. You can walk over to the art gallery next door, which has displays by some very talented individuals.
It's super small, but what they have is engaging. Las Cruces has a museum system (4 different kinds), all free. We went to the railroad museum, the science and nature museum and quickly walked through the cultural museum. I have little kids so they didn't care so much about rugs and such, but I loved the displays. If you're in the city, the museums are worth a visit.
Such a fun place to attend with our without family/ kids. Has a fun walk through with different creatures, land forms, space information. They also have a fun area for kids and adults to play with science like games. There are activities throughout the week for different age groups, as well.
This series of museums and associated events makes me so proud and happy to live in Las Cruces. What great memories for kids and families. The science museum just received some really cool updates. You can "travel through space" with ClydeTombaugh or send balls through a maze by turning cogs or using pneumatic tubes! They told me more surprises like this are in store... excited to see!
Very nice place for a weekday visit. Lots to explore. Will definitely plan a visit very soon.

The Fountain is a great independeny theater that shows all kinds of eclectic films. It's very small, and laid back.
Beautiful, theater. If those murals could talk.
What a quaint cinema! Was pleasantly surprised by the inside. A small cinema with a lot of charm. One can oruchase drinks from La Posta next door, and there are very reasonably priced drinks and snacks at the commissary. Special ticket prices all week, and it pays to be a member. Doesn't show mainstream films, and is supported by donors. Only downside is that the AC is a bit too cold, and the seats weren't the most comfortable, but it's worth it. Keep spaces like this alive!
This place is amazing! The staff is so genuine and friendly, and the theater is gorgeous. Concession stand is well stocked and the prices are so so reasonable. Which is amazing after being used to overpaying for mid popcorn at every other theater for years now hahah. We drove all the way from El Paso and will happily do it again. Truly cannot recommend this place enough.
We attend every year for the screening of the Oscar nominated short films. Seeing any film in this historic venue is always a treat. Alcoholic drinks can be brought in when purchased next door at LA Posta, or non alcoholic beverages and snacks, including real, fresh popcorn can be purchased at the concession stand. The seats are old and not the most comfortable, so I recommend arriving early to get your pick. There are also tables where you can sit and watch from. The selection of films by the film society that runs the theater is quite eclectic. Overall, a really wonderful experience.
Old school movie theater with healthy popcorn and real butter and this place shows great films that the big chain theaters won’t show.
Good pricing, picture and sound were fine. Comfortable fresh popcorn and brewed coffee. Great art house features.
Awesome venue! I debated catching a film here while in town overnight for business. So glad that I did! Very cool indie theatre, the kind of alternative every town needs. Indie films and live events hosted by welcoming and friendly (not overbearing) volunteers. It has an interior connection to La Posta, the restaurant next door. You can buy drinks at the bar there and take into the theatre up until 5 minutes before the show. I look forward to return business trips here so I can enjoy this place some more.

We do love a good ghost town, and this is one of the best we have ever visited. There is so much to see here. Thankfully there is a caretaker to keep an eye on things. What's amazing is how well kept the church and school are. It may be a bit of a drive, but it's worth every moment spent.
Unique in Ghost Towns Lake Valley does have hour of operation with a caretaker on site so plan your travel accordingly. If you combine this spot with Fort Cummings the two sites are worth the trip. The BLM has done quite a job in prestarvation the small schoolhouse museum is packed with details of the mining town. While you cannot get anywhere near the mines there is plenty to see.
Best preserved ghost town I've ever visited. The school has been restored and features many exhibits and photos illustrating the history of the townsite.
Really cool place with tons of history. Rick was super knowledgeable and friendly! Facilities were really well maintained!
Great place to visit. It’s an amazing piece of history, with breathtaking views. It’s worth the drive.
Special thanks to the BLM for restoring the school and providing literature for the walking trail. Looking forward to how the restoration effort will go with the other hallmark buildings. Very interesting to see remains of what once was a bustling mining community.
A neat place to see and dogs are allowed but I wouldn't let your dog walk around. There is broken glass literally everywhere. Neat piece of history. I would love to see some pictures of what it looked like at its peak.
Very pretty, well-documented ghost town with a walking tour, sign posts, and a couple of buildings that have been kept up. Even has public bathrooms - rare for a ghost town!

Wonderful place to visit! The grounds were beautiful and clean. In the visitors' area, there is a courtyard with bathrooms and 2 gardens. In one of the buildings is a small information center. The employees were so nice and gave great info. The trails were clean and very nice.
My first NM state park to visit. Spent a couple hours there for hiking and birding. Very nice facilities, and super friendly and helpful staff. Thanks Alex, this Arkansas enjoyed meeting you!
A lovely state park with plenty of hiking. Great for birdwatching and birdlife. We spent several hours exploring and it was well worth the visit.
I visited this state park last year while on vacation in New Mexico. The park was nice - I enjoyed walking around in the dessert. It was winter time when I went, so there weren't any plants blooming or anything. But, it was still relaxing and nice to see the dessert landscape. The park ranger on duty that day was also great. He gave lots of informative information about the park when my friend and I asked questions.
We didn’t have much time at the park since we arrived late. Visitors center was typical. Trail that we walked about a mile of was well maintained and relatively flat. Beautiful from what we saw. Talked to the park ranger for a few minutes and he was very friendly and informative. Will come back to finish exploring and give ourselves more time here. They close at 4pm.
Nice and quiet park right next to the Rio Grande River. The park has nice trails and picnic tables. Pets have to be leashed. Fishing is also allowed. You pay at $5 fee at the entrance. Make sure you display the sticker on your vehicle.Overall great experience. Will visit again.
The staff is fantastic, knowledgeable! (I bought a year pass to any NM State Park. Otherwise it is $5 per visit. $40 for the year! A good buy.) This is a BEAUTIFUL place. Places to sit, picnic, look at the birds at the feeders, the animals sipping the water at the watering saucers, all the gorgeous plants. Plenty of shade. Hiking, too. This is a jewel. Good clean bathrooms.
Was parked about 2 minutes when an idiot ranger hassled us. Said we couldn't camp there and it was just for walking in. Yes we are traveling in a camper. I wouldn't give them or this state a dollar entrance fee. Dried up, stickers everywhere. Can barely walk a dog in this state!

I love this park and I'm a foreign tourist. The city has done a fabulous job of honoring veterans. All the different conflicts and branches of military are represented. Clean restrooms are beside the parking entrance.
As a vet, this park moved me. The monuments are beautiful. I'm so glad that this place exists because it fills a void in my heart. I brought my elderly mini dachshund, he lifted his leg at one monument and I said Don't you dare! Then I saw a lady let her dog run loose and try to call it back. That explains the pee spot at the main monument that my dog tried to emulate. People enjoy this park but show some reverence! This is not an off leash park.
Love this park! They have toilets, they have various areas to hang out. We go there mostly for soccer practice and it's a great place to have that for sure. Parking can get a bit tight and there's only one way in but the road is wide enough to u turn if needed.
We had an overnight stay in Las Cruces and found this gem of a park. The name speaks for itself and had excellent placards and statues. The trail on the outside is a quarter mile long, paved and generally level. For dog owners, there are poop bags available - stop being lazy and dispose of pet waste, especially at a memorial. The pics speak for themselves.
Beautiful! Such a magnificent tribute. But it's also a good park - lots of room for kiddos to run. Picnic tables with shade , rest rooms. Beautifully maintained. Made for an awesome Sunday get out of the house destination.
Had lunch here today. Such a beautiful park. My brother Pat Magee did quality control on the Hewey as they were built. He also flew recon as a navigator during Viet Nam. I realised for the 1st time ever that his status makes me a member of the Blue Star Families. This park is beautiful, serene, cared for and very user friendly.
What a wonderful place. The park is fantastic. My family and I threw a frisbee and walked the trails in the area. This park pays homage to the men and women who gave their all in service of this great nation. If you haven't been here, I highly recommend that you do so.
Incredible gem for military buffs out there! Must see for those that are traveling through the I-10. Dogs welcome and lots of space for them to get their energy out.

This is a well maintained campground. Each RV site had a small shelter over the picnic table. There are several trails for hiking around the campground. However, this particular park doesn't have access to the lake.
Large camp spots each spot comes with a covered table pavilion they do have flush toilets and showers but we were there a week and never saw them clean the showers.
Nice campground with great views and covered picnic table areas. Not much water this time of the year, but openness and views were special. Water and electricity only with a nice shower house and dump station. Mostly pull thru sites, making it big rig friendly.
Clean and well kept campsites with beautiful views of the desert. Not a lot to do, but very relaxing.
Travelining in a F250 towing a Jayco flight 262. Used site 11 for 24 hours. Site was clean. Most turns are tight, so arrive according to your vehicle size and driving/backing talent. The gate closes at sunset, larger vehicles may need daylight to maneuver. For the late night returners,a code entry is avaliable upon check-in.
Lovely desert campground. Only stayed here on night passing through but the campground was great. Cement pad, water and electricity, covered picnic table, dump station. Everything we needed for one night. There is a trail by the campground that will take you to the Rio Grande with a little swim area. Campground was nearly full but very quiet. Pretty surroundings with the mountains and river.
My daughter and I stopped for a short visit yesterday . The weather was hot, but we were able to take a small hike on a trail to a shady area and sit for a while. The Park has mainly secure trails for hiking. Spacious campsites, it's kept very clean, beautiful scenery of the mountains all around. This State Park is located in Radium Springs not far from Truth or Consequences, NM. If you're looking for a place to take a hike or camp and are in this area, stop by you will enjoy it, just as we did. 😊
Well maintained park with short walking trails that slate well marked and landscaped. Love that you can walk to rio grande and enjoy the dam. No shade but it was cooler than expected the week we were here. The host kept the sites well cleaned as soon as someone checked out.
