Remains of the ironclad USS Monitor anchor this extensive museum exploring global maritime history.
Slide 1 of 8
Absolutely loved it. One wing of the building is dedicated to the USS Monitor and the Battle of Hampton Roads, including a partial reconstruction of a Confederate Ironclad (Maybe the Virginia, don't remember) and a reconstruction of the Monitor you can walk on the surface of and ring the bell. The video was really good, surround sound, screens all around while we sat on swivel chairs, and a handy map showing where the ships were so the battle made sense. Tucked out of the way is an exhibit of small craft from around the world that was fascinating! The room with the models had a volunteer there actively building models. They have a variety of scavenger hunts for the kids if varying difficulty, which my kids were super dedicated to. The small playground outside had good shade and a little wooden USS Monitor to play on. I would love to come back again if we are ever in the area
Whether you are a tourist or a local trying to decide how to spend some free time, the Mariners' Museum and Park is a clean place to get away from the noise. There are a ton of ways to mix-and-match features of this space to make for a fun and informative day! A few highlights: - Admission to the air-conditioned Museum is just $1. Realistically speaking, even if museums (or this particular subject matter) are not the vibe of everyone in your party, it is a very reasonable amount of money to pay to occupy a decent amount of time if you're looking for something to help fill the day's itinerary. For those who ARE into this type of thing, though, you could easily spend hours looking through the exhibits. Not to mention the docents are INCREDIBLY knowledgeable and excited to share their wisdom with you. :) Complete with a clean bathroom, activities for kids, and a small gift shop! - New inside of the Museum as of Spring of 2025 is Column 15, a pleasant cafe offering a variety of coffees, teas, and pastries. There is indoor and outdoor seating available. - The VERY well-kept Noland Trail that is generally open from sunrise to sunset-ish hours. There is ample parking, as it is intended for visitors to both the Museum and the Noland Trail. The full Trail is an approximately 5.0-mile loop, but there are a few alternate access points along the way. I have walked and jogged the full distance alone at all hours of the day and have always felt safe! The only thing that spooked me was the occasional deer. :) BE AWARE: I believe the Museum has a copper roof, so cell service inside the building and around the Noland Trail is quite spotty. Though it may be a bit inconvenient, couldn't we all use a break from our phones from time to time? :)
Amazing museum. I learned a lot. Incredible atmosphere, very clean and professional. And the $1 entry?? Sublime. So happy I finally made it out here! I loved being able to see all the item storage. It made the experience more authentic.
Road the ferry over to this museum from the South shore and had a wonderful experience. Make sure you catch the video about the monitor in the Merrimack. Our scout troop did a lesson on hurricanes, and the docent who led the lesson could not have been more eloquent or friendlier. Museum is clean and welcoming. Highly recommend.
I thought it was going to be a boring museum, but it was really great! The thing that made it so enjoyable was doing the full museum scavenger hunt with my daughter while my husband and older son took their time learning about the boats. Don't pass this up just because you have kids along, get a scavenger hunt and have fun!
Amazing experience! Check out the monitor and Merrimack, America's Cup exhibition, vessels from across history, models, or pieces from ancient ships. Worth the trip... And it's only $1!
The museum is big and it has really cool displays and artifacts! There were no cut corners putting this museum together. Plenty of parking and the price is niiiice ($1!)
The historic ironclad "Monitor" is housed here for preservation. Along with many other artifacts from the history of sea farers. Many exquisite models abound also. Allow plenty of time to soak in all that this museum has to offer. Admission is $1.00. Leave a generous tip afterwards.

The parking is fantastic. The customer service both online and at the front desk is phenomenal. My kids were thrilled and enjoyed every aspect of this museum. I love the flow of their exhibits. Regardless if there are school field trips or Earth day celebrations during spring break, this museum handles large crowds of people very well and effortlessly. The dinosaur park and adventure is a well worth the museum visit alone.
It was a unique experience, kind of half zoo/aquarium, half nature trail. A few of the animals were not on display and there wasnt a wide variety of animals. If you have AAA, you get a $1 discount. Overall the animals looked happy and healthy, the exhibits were nice and the staff were good about putting up enrichment activities for the animals. Great for young kids, but you can see everything in an hour. Unless you also do the planetarium which was only open Thur-Sun. I went on Tuesday. No crowds early in the morning, but during the summer lots of summer camp kiddos. Overall, it was neat, but I wouldn't make a trip just for this museum/zoo/aquarium. It had a really cool dino area though with fossils and stuff.
My family had a blast at the Virginia Living Museum! It was so fun to walk the boardwalk and see animals native to Virginia. We also got to watch an otter feeding and learn about otters. I thought the dinosaur section would be camp-y but was surprised to find real fossils displayed in little cabins there. My two-year-old loved seeing the dinosaur replicas, of course. We will definitely visit again!
Loved all of the interactive exhibits here, they were fascinating. My family and I were particularly entranced by a sand pit that had a projected topography that changed depending on the hills and valleys we created in the sand. Great place to take children, wonderful indoor exhibits and a fantastic outdoor trail that was fun and inspiring. My family and I got through the entire building and nature trail in about three hours without rushing past interesting signage.
This place was fantastic! Took a 5 yr old and almost 3 yr old. We all had so much fun! Lots of amazing animals and cool exhibits to see. The kids really loved playing in the vet center play area and the dinosaur digs. My favorite was the otter and the eagle, and the foxes we got to see them getting fed. Highly recommend
I hadn't visited this museum for many many years. Took my grandkids here and my daughter and we had an absolute ball. The current traveling exhibit is dinosaurs, and what they had was amazing. Lots of hands-on activities, and lots of great information, the kids were in heaven. The otter was adorable and we made it to the feeding which was quite a treat. The exhibits are all outstanding and the staff was very friendly and informative.
Been making memories here since I was a kid and recently visited while vacationing in my hometown. The staff loves what they do and it shows. The animal husbandry is better than most zoological facilities. And I love that it focuses on educating on local wildlife! The otter was definitely the star of the show though 🦋🦦
Absolutely fantastic and fun place for families with children, and generally people of every age. It was fully accessible for people with mobility differences, and interesting and suitable for those with sensory or intellectual differences as well. We went in mid- October and EVERY exhibit and enclosure was decorated with fall or Halloween themed enrichment for the animals, and frankly for us, the patrons. The museum exhibits are well curated. Informational, educational, and engaging. The live animals were plentiful, including turtles, seahorse, snakes, giant fish and more in enormous aquariums and specialized exhibits including a touch tank. They had a childrens science 'research canter' that was packed with things to explore and do. It was staffed by a Biologist who works to engage the kids in learning crafts and activities, encouraging conservation and responsibly enjoying nature, answering many questions along the way too. Downstairs, a veterinary clinic play center was fully stocked with x rays, full (play) hospital set up, (play) kitchen for preparing the animals food, kennels, a library of children's books on animals and care- the works. There are outdoor exhibits of the local fish and wildlife, as well as trails leading out around the river, and to the Wildlife Rehab and care center. Visitors can see any procedures being done, Keeper talks and presentations, and see the many critters that have received care. On the trails, native animals who have been rescued and cant be released to the wild can be seen in natural living enclosures off the raised boardwalk trails that are well tended, and accessible for people of all ages and ability levels, including mobility differences. They have several areas for kids off the outdoor trails. A amall sensory and children's garden & play area, and a HUGE Dinosaur trail play and learning area. The Dinosaur Trail area is set up as a paleontologist camp. Dig and excavate Dinosaurs bones/fossil (reproductions) with brushes, Climb a tree house or play on slack rope toys, climb dinosaur reproductions and use a life size Allosaur rib cage as a jungle gym, interactively hear Dinosaur sounds... My child could go there once a week just to play at the Dinosaur area, and see the animals on the trails. Surprisingly engaging, relatively inexpensive. If youre a local, take every visitor, every child in the family, and go anytime, and definitely buy a season pass. Note, the planetarium is only open on the weekends.

We came for leaf peeping, and it was amazing. 2.8 mile walk around the lake in the White Oak trail. We’ll be back, maybe often, and sometimes with mountain bikes. The tiny Discovery Center was worth a visit , too: most fun thing there is the recorded sounds of three kinds of owls who live in the park, two kinds of frogs and a beaver chewing a tree. :D Oh, they have LOTS of holiday lights up from Thanksgiving weekend through New Year’s weekend. We’ll be back! Best city park I’ve ever been to, actually.
Planned on going for an easy hike and found their Discovery Center. A nice experience, especially for the grandkids. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. We then took a nice hike and saw a plethora of turtles that liked to show up for visitors. Even though they had signs up asking not to feed the animals, especially human breads and snacks, there we some who don't listen. If we lived in the area we would visit often. Wonderful place!
I've run all over Williamsburg and the Hampton Roads area but for some reason never ventured to this park. This park has nice shaded trails that kept me cool even though it was 90°. There are plenty of parking options and restrooms. I was able to use the trails to run 11.5 challenging miles and I didn't cover everything. This is a beautiful, well maintained park. My only concern is that it is easy to get turned around because the trails are not well marked. I used All Trails to help me stay on course. I will be adding this park to my running rotation!
I enjoy this park for its historical landmarks, fauna, and flora. I love walking the 2.6-mile trail. Watch out for snakes!
This place is big and has bike trails as well as hiking trails. The only downside was (for us) the heat and the humidity which makes it a playground for mosquitoes. I recommend this place but only in the cooler months.
Great time of year to come here and will be returning again to explore more of the park!
Nice trails and scenery, also have picnic area and grill places.
Excellent for camping, biking, hiking with easy access to nearby attractions by foot or bike to include disc golf, on-site access to water activities, etc. Plenty to love at this location and greatly exceeded expectations.

Pretty cool museum. It is free to attend, but you do have to go through security to get on base. Not terribly difficult, but a line is possible depending on when you go. Be aware that you will need appropriate identification, proof of insurance, and your car title, although they might not always ask for the car information. They will absolutely check your ID though and take your picture, and you are going to need to present it again when you get up to the gate. I am not sure if it is worth visiting if it is a very long trip, but we were within 30 minutes, and felt like it was worth it.
We took our grandson here and all three of us enjoyed the museum. 16 and above need the new star ID to gain access as this museum in on an active Army base. We'll worth your time!
Amazing museum it shows all the time lines of the U.S. ARMY transportation it took me back to all the places that I have been. As an ARMY war veteran; God bless the United States of America and all my brothers in arms.
Had a great time visiting for my son's graduation. And seeing all the cool vehicles very nostalgic. A must see if you are in the area!!
Transportation infrastructure is basically the foundation of our country and without Army transport, personnel, equipment, and supplies would not be possible. This museum offers an excellent history in step with the timeline of transportation growth.
Great free museum with some rare exhibits. Tons of vehicles to see.
Great museum! So much to learn and see here.
FYI. We are not military, so it did take about 30 minutes to go to visitors center to get a background check and get a pass to get on base. After that we were able to get on base and go to the museum. Really interesting to look at all the vehicles and everything. Our adult and teenage kids enjoyed at too. Great family activity 👍🇺🇸

Lots of small arms from WWI AND WWII. American, German and Japanese. From the American Revolution to the war in Afghanistan the museum has a little bit of everything. Lots of machine guns from both WWs. They also have a WWI tank which you can see inside of. It's a neat museum, not to big as to take up your whole day but enuf to keep it interesting.
This is a nice museum. Very interesting with a lot of artifacts and information. I would have given it 5 stars except for one exhibit. In the farthest corner of the museum, by the emergency exit door, hidden by another case is a small plaque. On it are listed a few of the women KIA in the Iraq and Afghanistan wars. It's part of a tiny exhibit of women in the war, in a hallway. Surely the museum can find a better place to highlight the sacrifice of these military casualties. And as a Veteran who happens to be female, I have to say, if you want to highlight women who serve, don't put the entire exhibit in an exit hallway.
Went here on a whim while on vacation. It looks sort of small and not overly impressive from the outside but once you get in I was honestly shocked. It is hands down one of the top military museums I have ever been in. It covered all eras of the US history and had amazing exhibits and items in the displays. I cannot recommend this place enough if military museums are something that interest you!
My wife and I had an awesome experience here! The museum walks you through the generations of battles that Virginians had a hand in protecting our country, revolutionary through modern era. It took us almost an hour and a half to walk through (my wife was rushing me it would've taken me longer😂). We had an awesome time though, they have a bunch of period rifles, muskets, swords, clothing, military vehicles. If youre into history at all, I highly recommend.
Geared more towards adults and kids who can read and not touch. Lots and lots of cool historical items. I’m not a huge history buff, but our guided tour was exceptionally well explained with an emphasis on the advancements of war fighting and war life, era by era.
Excellent museum with many interesting exhibits! Lots of guns and military artifacts from all the conflicts we have been involved with. We'll worth the time and small amount of admission!
Very cool meseum! I would say the tanks and guns etc. outside are way more interesting than the inside. The kids love this place! Family friendly although you occasionally have some shady people walking around the park.
For a war museum it really small.

Kelsey, our tour guide, was engaging in her well placed passion for conservation of the mansion. The home is lovingly restored with period and replica furnishings. Learned a lot about Gentleman Planter Mr Lee and turnover of the property over time. Highly recommend a visit.
The gal was very informative and loved doing it, beautiful place to visit and learn history!
This place was amazing! Our tour host Sarah was very knowledgeable and was happy to answer as many questions as we wanted to ask. The history and beauty of this property makes it well worth a visit!
This is a great stop on the way to/from Williamsburg. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff! The house is in great condition.
Beautiful land and home. The tour guide was very informative about the many historical events that happen on the land as well as the battle that happen on the land. I would recommend many to check out this huge piece of history and make sure you walk the land.
Attended here for the On to Richmond event. Great historical place and worth visiting. We really enjoyed the Civil War Reenactment! #ontorichmond2017

Such a cool park! My kids thoroughly enjoyed it. The playground is huge with a lot to do. I noticed there were a few picnic areas and some open space. Bathrooms were off to the side as well. Along with at the bottom of the hill a small little fishing dock. Unsure if fishing is allowed though.
I recently visited this park and beach, and it's a lovely spot with beautiful views and friendly people. However, I have some safety concerns - the cold water (expected in September) and lack of visible lifeguards or safety personnel, despite having 3-4 empty lifeguard chairs. The beach is public and open from sunrise to sunset, but I think hiring lifeguards and adding food vendors (seafood, pizza, ice cream) would enhance the experience. Overall, it's a great spot, but prioritizing safety would make it even better. Recommended for those seeking a peaceful beach experience, but be aware of safety limitations
Well maintained. Plenty of variety and room for many. Bring duck food cuz there is a nice sized flock of ducks off the pier. Walking trails & close to several other attractions.
Nice park with lots of play area. Has bathrooms close by. No shade over the slides though, so it heats up fast. Brinf water in the Summer.
the water and tree landscapes were very nice!, my favorite part was seeing all the cats!, the restrooms might look a little off outside but it looks pretty alright in the inside!, also the park was huge but packed but still a very nice place! :)
A Hidden Gem for Littles – Big, Fun, and Peaceful! Fort Fun located at Huntington Park in Newport News is an absolute dream for families with young kids! The playground is huge and incredibly fun, with a pirate ship and treehouse theme that kept my toddler exploring non-stop. There’s so much to climb, swing, and slide on—plenty to keep little ones busy for hours. We arrived around 8:30 AM and were the first ones there, which was perfect for some peaceful playtime before it got busier around 11:00 AM when the older kids started to show up. That early window was just right for my 4 year-old and me to enjoy the playground and then have lunch nearby the lake in the shade—such a serene, relaxing spot. There are benches and picnic tables in both the sun and the shade, which made it easy to find a comfy place to sit and eat. I was also pleasantly surprised that the bathrooms were very clean for a park, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable. This park really has it all—space, creativity, convenience, and calm. Highly recommend for a kid friendly morning and afternoon out!

I did not go on the tour but instead took the afternoon to simply walk the grounds and let the history “soak” into my feet. I believe a lot of people go to places and follow a guide around and read a lot of placards without actually getting to know the history of a place. If you don’t do it anywhere else do it here! The cemetery was my favorite part. One of the most eerie and peaceful places I’ve ever been. You can feel the ghosts and bones going back almost 400 years. It was very enjoyable to sit out there in that grove and then to walk the bottomland around it getting a “feel” for what “they” saw and felt, the people that lived there and that have come before. I highly encourage anyone to take a day to walk around the grounds here to really enjoy the history of this place.
Peaceful, beautiful and historic. Definitely worth a visit.
We wish there were signs stating that the location was open for tours. We saw and stopped to read the historical markers on our way to Yorktown, and from the main road it appeared that the location was a private home, so we did not pursue any further. It wasn't until later on back at our hotel room in Williamsburg that we realized that the location can be visited. Make sure to do your homework before you travel; we always try our best, but we overlooked this location. Again, a sign out by the main road would have been nice.
I reenacted here, and I love the redoubt. Unfortunately they're selling that plot of land. The house had some very cool artifacts, and knowledgeable guides. Not something I would travel to see, but something I would go to if I were in the area.
Great place with knowledgeable tour guides. Had a nature walk maintained by the Virginia Master Naturalists Peninsula chapter. The annual Paw Paw festival is amazing with seminars, tastings and paw paw picking. Great for the whole family.
The Haunted Trail every Fri+ Sat in October was REALLY great. Kudos to City of Newport News and all who made it possible. Great spookyness but not too scary. Appropriate for Children 8 and up
It's nice there, they have walking paths and open space. A lot of history there.

Really nice place to take the family and if youre an educator. The exhibits are beautiful. The tour guides are also exquisite 😊. They're very knowledgeable, animated, and helpful.
The Peninsula Fine Arts Center is a cozy little culture center with exhibits that come and go. It is very small and it will not take you long to see everything in great detail. You can knock out two in one with the Mariners Museum on the same campus. The highlight of my visit was the Mayan, Pre-Colombian and the Veracruz Culture exhibits. Some of the artifacts were thousands of years old. Truly mind blowing. The exhibits were also very wheelchair friendly but again the center was very small. So you may want to call ahead to see if a large group maybe scheduled on the day of your visit.
We visited for the ArtStart class. It's a really good preschool art class with story time. My 3 year old loves the class, teacher and the play area. All staff we've met are really friendly and helpful.
My son and I thoroughly enjoyed the hands on play. I will say the advertisement for the child's class on fb shouldn't say it's free. Because it's not it's with paid admission that the class is free for children. That would be my only qualm.
$1 dollar admission through the summer!! What’s not to love? But in all seriousness, they had a beautiful walk around with paths, lush greenery, bird watching programs. On the inside, local young aspiring artists work in different medias. Rembrandt’s etchings we’re detailed and the museum provided magnifying glasses which I had no idea I even needed, but it proved useful the entire time!!
Loved the exhibit and learned quite a bit. The staff who gave tours were knowledgeable and friendly and had great patience with the class I was with. Will definitely return for the next exhibit!
Great place to tale the kids and visit. It cost only $1 and you will be. Done in an hour or less. There are a lot of hands on activities. Great place for kids to getenergy out.
The hands on toys exhibit was fantastic. The grandchildren had a great time. We had fun creating things in the craft room. There's also a scavenger hunt but my grandchildren were a little bit young for it to hold their attention for long. The best thing, it only cost a $1 per person for those above 5.

People friendly. Waitresses and staff very helpful and friendly. Food good and reasonable. We will be back next year.
Always plenty to look at and enjoy here, pretty much any time of day. A pleasure to return often.
Fantastic place to walk your dog. Walking trails are pretty quiet during the weekdays. In this time of year is especially great. Tons of turtles in the water which the kids seem to get a kick out of. We are lucky to have such a park in the community.
Nicest Welcome Center I've Ever Seen!
Delightful, clean and charming stop! Wonderful, helpful and incredibly hospitable staff. They welcomed us (and our dog!) inside and could not have been sweeter. Beautiful grounds and building; great place to picnic; at the entrance to one of the largest municipal parks East of the Mississippi. Yes; signage is a little tricky, but not that bad. Keep an eye out. It's worth it!
Head for the Newport News Visitors Center and discover the city's grand and leafy park, too.

Grand stuccoed arch built in 1919 & a location for war memorials & victory parades.

The Victory Arch near the Battleship is a beautiful and meaningful landmark. It is a quick stop, but worth visiting to appreciate its historical significance and craftsmanship. The arch is well-maintained, and its location makes it easy to walk along the waterfront and see the ships. A nice photo spot and a moment to reflect on the Virgina's history.
A nice memorial paying tribute to WWI service members The Victory Arch in Newport News, Virginia, is a historic monument that pays tribute to the brave service members who fought in World War I and beyond. Built in 1919, the original wooden structure welcomed soldiers returning from war, offering a grand and heartfelt homecoming. In 1962, it was replaced with the current permanent stone arch to preserve its significance as a symbol of gratitude and remembrance for generations to come. It is not in the best area of town. Parking is available on the nearby lots or on the street. There are several plaques around the one-block site. The engraved inscriptions and plaques on the arch honor the sacrifices of military personnel. The arch stands prominently on 25th Street. It stands about 3 stories tall and has a clean, timeless design that seems to blend very well with its surroundings, creating a respectful and relaxing atmosphere. The site is located in the heart of downtown Newport News. The Victory Arch is surrounded by notable attractions. It’s just a short walk from Victory Landing Park, where you can enjoy waterfront views and open spaces. Visiting the Victory Arch is not only a historical experience but also an opportunity to connect with the city’s deep military heritage dating back to WWI.
July 4th Stars in the sky hosted by Najmah Grimes was a great experience. The family and I eas invited by my aunt to this event. I'm glad we attended. What a show case, fir works the Custom band wa excellent. Playing tunes from past and current. Face painting and food trucks plus to end it all with fireworks. So thankful also for the event staff and local fire frighters and police on land and water for keeping whom were on the grounds. The crowd was peaceful and from what I can see was in good spirits.
Street parking was readily available and an easy walk to view and visit. The sacred fire that burns and the historic signs make it an educational experience as well as a memorial to those who served. There are clear views of the naval carriers. There are areas to sit and enjoy or gather a picnic while taking it all in
Really like the park. Great photo location. Unfortunately the walk is very short and there's often a bit of "rif raf" in the area. Active drug deal across the street and domestic dispute. Down by the water was more calm.
Beautifully manicured garden around the arch. Great view if you follow the path past the garden. Cruisers to the left aircraft carriers to the right doesn't get much better. Also if you take the time to smell the flowers if I might say read the signs while you're there. I believe the arches dedicated to those that died from the great war. We should appreciate all that they gave for us and the hardships they had to endure, prior to an early loss of ...
At this arch you will find a "sacred" fire that burns almost indefinitely and representing it's wealth of historical importance. Entrance upon this stone foundation will surely separate the tourist from the general surrounding of Downtown Newport into a lavishly kept and large open ended park on the way to an outlook over the waters and with a clear view of the Naval carriers, some Maritime patrol on occasion and the company of families, friends and others traveling the walk for sightseeing, fitness or particularly in my case, meditation, a great meditation spot listening to the waters flows and the light hum as evidence of human engineering in the distance that creates an ambient sound and the area is very quiet on Sundays. Tourists may fish at the furthest left end of the park and will find law enforcement monitoring the area briefly for safety & security. A rather nice looking Huntington Ingalls corporate building is low key set aside from the park on the way in. On every 4th of July this park comes to life even more with concessions, a stage for music performances, huge fireworks displays, a local patriotic oldstyle band at the fiery monument, glow sticks and super packed full of people. This is a place to creates your memories with the people you love, your family and your friends. Enjoy it's simplicity, thank me later but most importantly, thank yourselves for embracing the simplicity and historical importance of the monument and Victory Landing Park. Stay for the sunset and take a moment to reset before your departure it's a beautiful sight.
The Victory Arch is a memorial to those who served in the American armed forces during periods of war. Considering it was rebuilt in 1962, and originally built in 1919 I think it looks fantastic and grand enough to remind people who are locals or tourists to approach it and remember those who served our country.

So inviting and informative when I’ve visited with friends the museum and we’ve got a private tour of the house. I only recommend this place for getting a good picture about this beautiful historical place!
Definitely a spot to hit, if you love & want a slice of history & culture, in Newport News, Va.
Had a great tour and conversation with guide, James Pope.
Must see! Well preserved historical home in Newport News. Interesting history and special exhibits housed in this home owned by a black lawyer in the late 1800's/early 1900's.
This was my first time going and it was nice to actually get to see the inside of the house. It's much bigger than what I thought it would be. And it is free but they do ask of a 2 dollar per person donation. Which is not bad at all. And it goes toward a good cause.
Look past the neighborhood and find this gem . The guide was amazing . Learned tons. Newsome is inspiring
For recent or long term residents of the Hampton Roads area, this lovingly restored home is an essential visit to know & understand the social & political history of this region. Mr & Mrs Newsome shared their oasis with the African American communities of the area - providing shelter, meeting spaces, political discourse & legal recourse.
The gentleman who answered the door was a bit rude, complaining loudly about how we didn't call in advance and said, "I don't know what you people can't understand about that." Our group only had 7 people. The tour guide, Tad, was great and it was a very informative tour. I recommend calling in advance, though, if you plan to visit.

I love their flowers and plant shop and their produce is amazing. They're always displaying fresh, healthy looking fruits and vegetables, and they also sell local jarred goods like salsa, honey, jams, jellies and bread.
A favorite stop in Newport News! Rather go there than a mall ! Lol. Thank You Dean & Don's for me having the most beautiful flowers in my neighborhood!
Lobstah King’s food truck offers authentic New England style rolls with a twist of Southern hospitality. Definitely try the shrimp as well!!
Prices are higher than I expected but straight from the farm so its understandable. Strawberries are bigger and cheaper at Wallys. Was curious about the selection
Great place to get your fresh vegetables and fruits!
Driven by numerous times finally stopped in. Plants are well taken care of and healthy. The market has fresh produce that was really good.
Everything looks great and I always try and support local, but when prices are double and some triple of what I can get anywhere else it makes it impossible especially in this economy, unfortunately made me walk out empty handed :(
Best farmers market in the area. The staff are friendly. Plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables to choose from.

Nice mall. Malls are really dead except for this one and Lynnhaven Mall in Virginia Beach. Good collection of shops, larger food court than what you expect, and restaurants in the mall, not outside. Great mall. Go. You want to go.
Nice mall, busy because of Christmas seemed clean lots of variety in the stores
Home of many stores/outlets and there are varying food courts, game room and during Christmas, Santa booth. You can basically shop, eat, play and have fun in one mall. I sometimes go there for Charley’s cheesesteak and a little shopping. Lovely place.
Went during the week . Mall was pretty empty with people. All the stores that I went into , I was greeted by a worker . Friendly atmosphere. 10am to 12pm seem to be a good time to shop .
Welcome to 1988. Pretty boring and likely won’t be here much longer.
Great mall. Great store variety but for some reason I had an unsafe feeling even though there were security guards throughout the building. Stores were well kept but bathrooms were dirty but useable.
The security racially profiles people of a darker color. On Sept 17th the security supervisor put his hands on the table I was sitting at and told me I was banned because he didn't want my service dog in the mall. He was extremely disrespectful. They're against service animals in the mall but many lawsuits are coming their way.
This is one Dirty Mall!!!! The only mall on the peninsula and ALL of the restrooms are filthy. I don't eat in the Food Court that's a mess. I only patronize one restaurant when I'm in the area.
