I absolutely love going to this park! So beautiful and so many things to do. Its great place to become 1 with nature and it's great for the whole family. We visited the birdsong fairy trail this past visit
Parking is hard to find as it is street parking. Skates were uncomfortable and staff especially a tall guy with tattoos was extremely rude. Comments were being made about how they shouldn’t be open because it was snowing. The nicest person was the only guy outside clearing the snow I believe his jacket had Gomez on it.
One of my favorite parks in Monroe County!!! Plenty of nature trails, fishing areas, pavilions, and the wild wings birds of prey facility which is awesome! Great place for geocaching too.
For any outdoor enthusiast, Mendon Ponds has you covered across all seasons. Cyclists and skaters can enjoy a ride along looping roads, self selecting difficulty levels. Trails here are well maintained and expansive-showing off the diverse landscaping of the park. The park also serves as a community gathering place for various events. It should be noted that not all trails are accurately shown on Google Maps or Strava, so have a clear view of where you are headed beforehand in order to not experience any unexpected surprises. Seniors often take senior photos here- this is best as a summer activity if seeking a 'woodsy' aesthetic. When looking for exploration and adventure or chance to reconnect with nature, Mendon Ponds park is sure to bring satisfaction.
Easy to moderate trails for hiking and biking, well maintained. There are several trails to choose from. Usually uncrowded.
What a delightful park! Didn't begin to do everything it offers. Hiked two of the well-maintained trails through beautiful woods and around lovely ponds. Will be revisiting.
One of my favorite parks since childhood. Even though there isn't a swim beach there anymore, you can bring a kayak, now there's pickleball, there are plenty of trails for walking - steep or flat, and cross country skiing. Loads of open space. Go to the last entrance (coming from Monroe Ave.) for the chickadees in winter. They'll land in your hand, on your head, or basically anywhere you put seeds. *I do not recommend the main sledding hills. Three hills from different directions end at the bottom. Perfect strom for injuries. My kiddo broke her wrist).
Great park, amazing views, not crowded, or dog loved it, lots of frogs/toads jumping on the path🥰 A little buggy, use spray. Mostly that's, though. Not bad considering how much swampy water is around. We did the area around Devils Bathtub and about 2 miles out from there. Will be back to explore more areas!

It was a great tour. Learning about the canal. Going up and down in the lock. The crew helped my mother on and off the boat. They let her on first because of the need for help. For a small outfit, it beats the bigger operations on the canal.
This was a nice trip! Captain Beth and the crew (Jean, I think) were very hospitable. I navigated poorly and was caught by. A freight train and missed my appointed time. Fortunately, the folks were very accommodating and since there was room on the next trip so they rebooked us. The trip itself was nice. We cruised to Lock 32 and went through, turned around, and came back past the mooring point and down river for a short distance where we turned around again and retuned to the start. The canal was pretty. The boat is not air conditioned so plan accordingly. Definitely recommend sunscreen for daytime summer trips. All in all, I’d recommend this trip (and the gelato place where it starts and ends!).
What a unique travel experience! The Sam Patch tour was such a great way to get to know the area, and the team was so kind and knowledgeable. To top it off, we had the chance to experience one of the Erie Canal's famous locks! It's so wild to me how much work and knowledge went into creating a system like this, and that it's still here for us to experience today. Highly recommend booking a tour!
We had a great time aboard the Sam Patch boat for a kids cruise. My 10 year old and 3 year old loved the experience. It was geared great for kids. The boat was a smaller than we expected (but was nice being smaller) and was mainly indoors (small area to stand outside). Going through the Lockport was a really neat experience.
This was a highlight of our visit to Pittsford! The journey up and down to the lock is delightful and informative thanks to the crew. It's hard for something to be equal parts peaceful and fun, but they pull it off exceptionally well. This activity is a "don't miss" opportunity.
relaxing informative cruise on the Erie canal. Crew were entertaining and knowledgeable scenery was quite nice
It was so much fun to play “tourist” in our own town on Friday night. We took an evening cruise on Riverie, the new boat in the @cornhillnavigation fleet. Captain Larry and crew took good care of us and narrated the sights as we cruised the Genesee River and the Erie Canal for 90 minutes on a perfect summer evening. We ended the evening with margaritas and Mexican dining at @la_casa_roc in the South Wedge. I highly recommend it. #roc #eatlocal #summervibes
This is a small boat tour. I wish there had been better writing on the website about food and beverages not being allowed on the boat. They were also out of a lot of items (end of the season, so difficult to restock), but it would have been nice to just reprint the paper. Otherwise the trip up the lock and back down the Erie Canal was great. They had fun history to share and song at the end!

Hilly terrain for hikes through meadows, wetlands & flower fields, plus an on-site fish hatchery.
Slide 1 of 8
I go to college at rit and sometimes I just want to go somewhere peaceful to relieve all the stress. Powder Mills is the perfect place for that! Not only is there the wide variety of trails to go on, but there's also the fish hatchery! It's so neat to feed the fish, they go crazy for it lol! Never once have seen any dead or even injured fish, so they obviously take very good care of them. You'll also probably see lots of wildlife, and it's beautiful. The fact that it's free (except 25 cents if you want to feed the fish, but really that's almost nothing) to go to and visit makes it ten times better. What a gorgeous place!
We had a great time, although It was a cold day, and wish the grill was a little bit larger, and had some kind of wind break. The wind kept blowing my fire out. It took me a little over an hour to get my fire consistent. We loved the fact that it was right at the creek, so family could go fishing and take walks along the creek. Even though they are outdoor shelters, the county should build an outdoor fireplace inside the shelter for fall-like days.
This park is a true gem! Well wooded with many hiking trails waiting to be discovered. It was toward the end of summer when I visited the park. The parking lot is spacious and a short walk over to the landscape bridge brings you into the fish hatchery section of the park. You will find a few fish food machines that take a quarter to feed tge fish. Paper cups are provided on top of the machines. It was fun to feed the fish and I took some good picts. I loved all the cat tails in bloom during the time of year we came. Also a few hand made benches are displayed which were made out of lumber which came from the trees at the park.
Nice place to hold family and company events; children will love fishery; ideal place for field trips ; benches stationed around pounds for people to sit and relax; trails to hike on 🥾 plenty of picnic areas 🧺 parking lots need attention though…massive potholes in several of them 🕳️
Definitely one of the coolest parks near Rochester. The “mushroom house” is here - Very architecturally interesting building that’s been featured on some tv shows. And they also have a fish hatchery where you can feed the fish. Be sure to bring quarters with you for that! I usually bring a small container to catch the fish food in too. It comes out of the dispensers kind of fast, and a container is easier than using your hand.
Powder Mill Park is an amazing park with a beautiful fish hatchery where you can feed Rainbow and brown gorgeous trout (bring your quarters and a small container to catch the fish food out of the gumball machine!) The park is gorgeous and fun to explore with a nice bathroom house. The playground is almost new to the left down the road with it's own parking lot. There is one especially unique ride there that kids live. It's like the flying swings at a fair, but it goes round and round for awhile with one parents strong push. We call it the helicopters. There is a Swain ski hill off to one side of the park where little kids practice the bunny slope and start to learn to gain control of their ski legs. Get outside and explore Powder Mill Park by yourself with your friends or family. It will make the permanent memory bank of very enjoyable days in your mind.
This park contains a fish hatchery, and several miles of moderate elevation hiking trails. Parts can be muddy or slick during winter or spring, but overall the valley it is in muffles the sounds of suburbia nicely once you're back off the main road. For sure stop to feed the fish while you're here.
Always beautiful, so many different trails to hike. Great spot, especially with kiddos! The fish hatchery is always fun too. Recently attended a wedding and reception in the Grand View lodge and it was absolutely beautiful!

My favorite place in Rochester!! We found this place on our way to buy some ice cream in Pittsford farm diary. The environment is peaceful and elegant. This beer bar is clean and variety selections including IPAs and fresh fruit taste beers. They don’t sell food but you can order from the store that across street, they will bring it to you.
Ended up here when another place was full… and I am so glad we did! Beer was great. Nice open space inside and ample seating right on the canal. There’s a fire pit, wood, lots of Adirondack chairs and a local musician was playing right outside the door — outstanding.
Love Lock 32. Love hanging out in their Adirondack chairs in the summer and inside is just as gorgeous when they have the windows open. Nice spot to overlook the Erie Canal.
We love this place and go every time we visit the family in Pittsford. The location on the canal is hard to beat and the beer is excellent.
This place is just the best, they have the best staff as well that are willing to bend over backwards to make sure everyone feels welcome and happy! The beer is fantastic and their space is just as nice if not nicer, great spot to hang out with friends or just with whoever is behind the pine that day! Bring kids, dogs, bikes, other pets maybe, you name it!
Enjoyed this brewery on the Erie canal. The taproom has a great spot on the canal with a nice view. The design of the taproom is nice with a boat room theme with lots of wood. The beer list is a good size and the beer was very good. Something for everyone including cider and wine. There is no food which is a disadvantage with the exception of popcorn. Definitely a great place to hang out on the weekend or for an afternoon. Parking can be found nearby across the street.
Great beer, great location, and dogs allowed. What more could you honestly want? Edit: we've become friends with most of the bar tenders and we love them all, but the Sunday bar tender, Courtney, has made Bills games phenomenal.
AMAZING BEERS. I had the Flower City, Scotch Ale, Five 80 Five, Mule Fuel, 1911 original (dry apple cider) and there newly tapped Porter called twist which tasted amazing (vanilla and chocolate). As for the ambiance it can definitely use some work, but nothing that would stop me from coming back here to grab another Twist once it is actually tapped and served publicly.

Lots of fish and food to feed them for .25¢. Lots of hiking trails, beautiful place to take the kids, family or just yourself to unwind.
It's a nice place to take the kids and let them feed fish. There are also a lot of hiking trails in the same area. Beautiful place to go!
Fed the fish at the Hatchery. Quick visit. Take a hike on nearby trails and see if you can find the " mushroom house" next door!
Awesome free fun 😁 how ever do fill you pocket with quarters so you can get fish food to feed these Awesome creatures 😀 😋!
This facility operates year round, and provides a vending machine for fish food. A fun trip for kids or "a-fish-ianados." Located right inside Powdermill Park, so easy access to hiking trails comes as a bonus.
This is a fun place to visit for a day out with the family! I've brought toddlers up through 10-year-olds and everyone has enjoyed it. Feeding the fish is very entertaining! There are feed machines that take quarters (signs say no outside fish food please). If you time it right, your kids might even get to help catch and move fish in nets! The surrounding park is beautiful too. Bathrooms were open when we visited in March. There was plenty of space to spread out safely with social distancing. The only times we felt crowded were near the feed machines or when fish were being moved, but these places could easily be avoided for someone very cautious. Anyone with a child who's a runner will definitely want to set some solid boundaries and/or hold hands as there's nothing keeping kids out of the water!
If you're looking for something to do with young kids this is a great spot. Get like 3.00 in quarters and a cup and feed the fish. They have fish pellets in gumball machines. I've been coming here with my family for over 20 years
Love coming here and feeding the fish! It's so relaxing. 4 stars because the food containers have been empty recently. Lastly they should publish the fish "schedule" on the board outside so people can know when the fish are being moved.

Powers market is an amazing place to take kids for Halloween. They had plenty of activities with live animals. Had a haunted hay ride and inside. They had plenty of baked goods for sale. Lots of pumpkins for sale. It was really a good time for family with kids and even if you are going on a date it would be very well
Powers Farm Market is a super cute pumpkin patch with a small petting zoo & cozy fall vibes. I really appreciated that there’s no entrance fee but be prepared for add-on costs. Hayrides are $10+ for about 15 minutes and the corn maze is $12+. Quite overpriced in my opinion. Still, it’s a charming place to enjoy a fall day!
Powers has the next Halloween set up I've ever seen. Great selection of products, both regular and seasonal. Awesome collection of farm animals for everyone to see and feed, especially the children. The folks working there are super helpful finding things, professional and polite. I hope to be back this weekend with the grandkids, they've never seen a Halloween arrangement like this. A trip to Powers will never be a disappointment or a mistake, it's a very popular place, you'll probably see some friends or relatives when you're there.
Lots of fun visiting the animals and hand feeding them. They have little cups of feed for sale inside and a little vending machine outside. Nice, family friendly Halloween atmosphere. Not as much to do during the weekdays as they have at night but worth it to go on a weekday if you want to avoid the crowds. Staff is very helpful and friendly.
Great spot for the whole family! Parking was a disaster but to be expected. The hay ride was worth the money and there were many pumpkin options to choose from. I took one star away for miserable staff..
$12.50 = small maze, decorative pumpkin. Seems like a good deal till you get here definitely disappointed. "U/pick pumpkin picture below. You will definitely need to go somewhere else for craving pumpkin.
We enjoyed our time here! Small farm but plenty of love put into it. The hayride has so many cool and silly props. The animals are adorable and sweet. We would definitely visit again!
Great farm store with lots of items. Even has a petting zoo, pumpkin patch and lots more.

I highly recommend this place! I absolutely enjoyed my massage, and as I write this, I'm having the most wonderful pedicure. I just wish I had arrived earlier than planned so I could have enjoyed the sauna, which would have been fantastic!
Thank you, Paula Cooper, for making me feel heard, seen, and genuinely validated. I visited the spa for the first time on Monday, November 17th for a gel manicure, and unfortunately, the polish on my right thumb chipped in less than seven days. After two unreturned phone calls, I stopped by the spa to request a redo or refund. Leah at the front desk was very respectful and showed real concern about my issue. She assured me that Paula would follow up since she wasn’t available to see me at that moment. Later that day, Paula reached out and graciously offered to redo the nail for me. Unfortunately, I didn’t have availability that day, so she kindly offered to send me a gift certificate for future use. She also asked if I could share the call logs and a photo of the chipped nail so she could use it as a teaching opportunity for the manicurist and follow up with her tech support about why my calls didn’t register on their end. I’ll definitely return and will be recommending Spa Del Monte to my friends.
Elaine is an excellent technician. Her service was beyond reproach. In fact, it was my best at Del Monte. Not only she delivers exactly what one requests but she also is a refreshing and rejuvenating conversationalist. One leaves uplifted, feels seen, entertained and bathed in human warmth that sometimes gets lost the transactional business of wellness. I would recommend Elaine to run a workshop for the rest of the staff on how to be authentically present yet dignified.
The massage was great. The facial was great, but my daughter and I had a pedicure, and the woman taking care of me, rushed through and my feet are dry on the second day, which I have never had happen after a pedicure ever. And the woman who took care of my daughter, kept complaining about how she had to take the tips off of her nails. Which made us feel terribly guilty, which is confusing because we were paying to be there.
Spent 2 and 1/2 hours trying to book an appointment for my wife. Finally got through after emails and multiple calls. Very limited bookings available. There weren't many options for back-to-back spa treatments. The massage was quite lackluster, according to my wife. The facility is great. Atmosphere is great. Estheticians were great. But it could use some work.
I feel super lucky to have gotten Erin today for my Himalayan Salt Stone massage. She did an exceptional job. Food from Erie Grill while you wait for your service is delicious. I already cant wait to come back.
Treat yourself! Wonderful atmosphere and mostly friendly staff. I recommend going early during a weekday, especially if you are a lady since the sanctuary can fill up quickly in the afternoons. The men's lounge isn't as busy. I took my lovely for a duo massage, and we enjoyed every moment.
Had a pedicure with my wife. Providers and service was great. I would only recommend changing the cherry lotion as it smells very much like public bathroom soap. Maybe just me but hey figured I would share. Thank you for a great time Del Monte Spa!

Zero complaints. Smile friendly, they have a great kids area, bathrooms are pristine, the space is comfortable and the Starbucks is a bonus. Other patrons were friendly and understanding of my busy toddler. The track on the train table is glued in place so I didn't have to worry about him launching pieces across the room — just the trains!
Im usually a fairport library momma but I am so glad I was able to bring my son in today and check out this location. I was pretty much blown away, not only with the indoor set up for the kids but the fenced in courtyard is like a dream come true. I was also able to catch a little bit of storytime and the woman hosting it was absolutely magical, there was about 12 kids and she engaged with every single one of them. It felt like we were on the set of a kid's television show! Above everything, every interaction I had with people or the employees in passing was so friendly. We felt so welcomed and are grateful to have a place like this to spend our time! Thank you!
Really appreciate this beautiful public library. Here's what I personally liked: ample parking, the building is clean and well maintained, the atmosphere here is inviting, there are different areas for various activities ( a quiet study area, teen center, computer stations, etc.) found the staff to be friendly and knowledgeable and they have a fantastic selection of resources. The Pittsford community is fortunate to have this gem!
Best library to use their computers than any other in the county Library located in nice area All librarians are great
Beautiful library, but difficult to get into if it's on the left side of the road. Also, it was difficult to find parking. But the library itself is wonderful.
Loud. This place is perfect for you if you want listen to constant conversations and phone calls. During the past week, I have visited this library 3 times in an attempt to study for my LSAT. Even with the signs like the one pictured below scattered throughout the "quiet area" upstairs, people have no consideration for others. Either it hasn't crossed their mind that anyone might be trying to use the library to quietly work, or they just don't care. I was under the false impression that libraries were places to get work done in a quiet environment. Maybe that is true in some libraries, but not here. Come to this library if you want to listen to an hour of sales calls from a rep from Isaac Heating and Cooling, or teenagers laughing hysterically at videos on Facebook and talking about going to Starbucks. Don't come to this library if you actually need to concentrate on getting any work done.
Nice place to visit once in a while. The staff is cordial and helpful. It's a beautiful library, comfortably air conditioned, with plenty of chairs and nooks to relax in and read or browse. They have a large magazine collection, and an interesting set of prepared bags of books for book clubs to use, with terrific book summaries to help you choose. Great video and audio collection. Open and airy, good places to read and research, good children's area. Very comfortable to be there.
What a fun place to take the kiddos! There is an impressive kids area with three different spaces for kids to play. The book selection is impressive! Everything is always neat and tidy. And! There’s a Starbucks in the building!!! Great place to meet up for play dates, or take the kiddos knowing that there will be other kids to play with. And yes, the ladies at the front desk will scowl… but not all of them, and it’s a really short run from the entry way to the kids area 😅

Excellent place to spend a good time with kids, playing games, bbq, picnic and walking. The day I visited there’s was also an event, there were a couple of food trucks, people grilling some meet and a little bounce house. There was enough space for everyone to feel comfortable.
Cute playground area 2 lakes to fish, catch and release
Great place for birthday parties. Enough place for kids to play around. I have seen two lodges and in south lodge there are around 7 tables and a great kitchen with sink, fridge, oven and trash can. Two restrooms accessible only when we book the lodge (I think it cost around $125). Two reserved parkings with wheelchair accessible facility.
Very quiet clean and easy to access. Good for younger kids and older kids.
Large space for small COVID-safe gathering - windows and doors open, ceiling fans, seating outside, large outdoor grill and huge lawn for lawn games.
As a Freemason my royal arch chapter comes here every year to have our picnic to get together with our families and everyone and enjoy the company and both the atmosphere and view is amazing; and with the park for the kids right there it's amazing for the entire family I enjoy it thoroughly.
Nice place for walking and or hiking

Best local bike shop around! I’ve been going to Towpath for over a decade now. There’s no other local bike shop I trust more than Towpath. Owners Rob and Brandon are top-notch and they’ve hired an awesome and knowledgeable crew. If you’re looking for a new bike or in need of service, head into Towpath.
Seamless service from the moment I arrived and was fitted for my new TREK Project One to when I picked her up. Eric, Rob and Patrick were great - helpful, informative, and most importantly, not pushy in anyway to make the sale. I highly recommend Towpath Bike.
Would definitely use Towpath Bike for your bike needs. I was in the area for a reunion and had planned a 50 mile ride. They outfitted me with a great rental e-bike and made sure I had everything I needed for the ride. Fantastic customer service and very easy to do business with. Highly recommend them!!!
Every part of our Towpath Bike experience exceeded our expectations. Bike selection and prepayment were easy and quick online. The bikes were waiting for us outside the shop when we arrived. Our bike fitter was super helpful and positive. Returning the bikes was also easy. From start to finish, Towpath Bike made our Saturday adventure a happy memory.
For being a visitor to the area and only being in rochester for a week. I was doing some browsing to see what bike shops had on sale. When I first went to Towpath the shop was very clean and very organized! I was able to veiw plenty of products. Plenty of sales reps on the floor to assist customers as they walked in. I was looking around for a newer bike and Towpath had a deal I couldn’t pass up! Ended up going back in the next day. On my way to the store I gave them a call to see if the bike was in stock. It was!!! By the time I was at the shop they already had the bike being checked over by the mechanics and ready for a test ride! Within an hour I was walking out with my new Trek Top Fuel! Thanks for the great service and I will be shreading my local trails back in WV!
Visit Branden for a kind, patient, and pressure-free experience. He assisted my daughter in choosing a bike, offered great suggestions on accessories, and checked in at every step of the process.
Best new bike experience EVER! Bought online because they had exactly what I wanted in my size and color in stock. Drove from Binghamton to pick it up. This shop is a gem. Meaningful suggestions led to fun conversations with Eric. THANKS AGAIN!
Did business with Towpath when we lived in Pittsford in early 2000's. Moved away and when we had a chance to come back and visit we had such a good experience with Rob that when the time came to get my wife a new bike we made the trip into Pittsford again to pick out her new Trek Verge 3 bike. Excellent customer service. Rob listened to our needs and helped us pick out the prefect fit. Worth the trip. If you're already in the Rochester area you are so lucky to have a company with such amazing customer care.

Unique place, for a cold brew. Loved the outdoor seating along the Barge canal. They have live Music in the evenings. Can't wait to go back. Parking is difficult and it's very busy. Don't miss it if you're visiting the area. Beautiful and relaxing!
We found this place unintentionally before we stopped in for a drink and we are glad we did. They have a great facility right on the canal lots of outdoor seating and a little indoor seating. They offered a variety of beer styles all brewed on site, one nice thing is they did not only have IPAs they offer something for everyone. Of note are the funny names with movie references, the solid quality on all the beers we tried and the fun relaxed atmosphere we will be back.
Seven Story Brewing is a cool spot to stop and enjoy a beer. They have wine options available as well. On top of some tasty beers, they also offer a great view of the historic Erie Canal. There is a rear patio with heaters, Adirondack chairs and tables on either side of the building and also down below by the water. Firepits were scatter around as well. We picked a great autumn day to stop, relax and enjoy. One noteworthy item if you haven't been there before, is that there is limited parking (when they are busy). If you go just down the hill (just past the entrance), there is a small parking lot right on the canal. There is a trail that follows the canal, but also brings you right to Seven Story Brewing, so you don't need to walk on the busy road.
There are at least 30 breweries in Monroe County nowadays, and none quite have the atmosphere that this one has overlooking the Erie Canal. Great location, beer is decent, and cozy seating. One downside is the limited parking, but there is almost always some space in the parking lot a short walk along the canal. There is periodic live music as well.
Awesome experience all around! The beer is delicious and the service was great. This place has the coolest ambience with multiple fire pits throughout the property that the staff (in our case, Kevin. Who was friendly and helpful.) are available to start for you. Definitely recommend!
Amazing location on the Erie Canal which apparently changes at the end of June, but not as amazing as the 6.5% alcohol Seven Story IPA! Might need a bit of bug spray at this location if the wind isn’t up, which fortunately it is now-:).

I had a great first time experience here today. The guys working the desk where very welcomed and patient with all my questions. They took their time helping me and a friend getting into our kayak. You have the option to go up the canal or even go through the lock (just make sure you tell them). Definitely would go again and hope that the wind will be less of a nuisance.
People here were nice and the launch is ina good location. There is a lock right near the kucnh and you can go through it which was anew experience for our group. If you go that direction you can make it to an ice-cream shop and back within a 3 hour window at a medium slow to medium pace.
I took the "Introduction to Whitewater" class yesterday (7/28/19). The class size was very small and the instructors (Charles and Brian) were welcoming and very patient. Every new skill they would start with a solid foundation: what the skill will be and why it is important for whitewater, then they will demonstrate it, lastly they will have you complete the skill under their close supervision. I can not express what an amazing time I had in words, we started the day with the basics and some of those in the class had only been in a boat once before. By the end of the day everyone was learning and playing in the rapids of the whitewater park confidently. The gear they give you is in great shape and the course itself has fun features for someone who is new to the sport (me) or someone who has been paddling for years. TLDR: Lived in Rochester my whole life and wish I would have known about this place sooner. Well worth the money and the employees are incredibly nice and welcoming!!
Excellent walking park. If you're lucky and come at the right time, you might catch a boat being lowered into the canal, so it can go under the bridge.
Awesome little place! Only $25 for 3 hours of kayaking is a steal!
Sunday, Sept 24th a beautiful day for kayaking. My sister called several locations and found Genesee Waterways had the best prices in area. Upon our arrival we were greeted with a smile and happy attitude of Paul. Very seldom do you find someone who enjoys his work. We told him we needed the kayak to rent for several hours. But the dock was up and over the embankment . He had no problem carrying the kayak to the dock for us. He assisted me to get into the kayak with the bad knee I favor and all went smoothly. We went on our voyage, telling him to lookout for us in a couple hours to help get back out of kayak. He assured us not to worry. Well, 2 hours later, we arrived back to the dock, seeing Paul looking for us. The whole day was beautiful. Thankyou Paul for making kayaking a pleasurable experience and Genesee Waterways is lucky to have such a great employee working for them.
Great place to get into whitewater kayaking as well as sharpening your skills! Lessons have great knowledgeable instructors. On the canal you can also rent canoes kayaks and SUPs
Such an awesome experience going through lock 32 on a kayak! All my years living in roc, I never knew you could do this. Very cool 😎

Fantastic! I went in for a truffle making class with my boyfriend and it was amazing. The Chocolatiers are very friendly, accommodating, and so knowledgeable. I'm not even allowed in the kitchen at home for fear I might start a fire, but The Cocoa Bean Shoppe made everything very easy to understand and my truffles turned out great! If I could give a 10/10 I would!
Really neat little Pittsford shop! I'd love to see more shops like this in Pittsford... and maybe a few less salons. Nadia, the owner, is very sweet, knowledgeable, and talkative. I dropped by yesterday and got a tasting of hot chocolate and truffle. Both were amazing! She mentioned her classes which sounded super interesting. I returned the next day with my girlfriend to get her to try the truffle and we also grabbed a couple small chocolate bars. I had the bacon with milk chocolate, and she got one with 5 different kinds of salts on milk chocolate. The owner was telling us a bit about each of the different salts... I had not thought about how different rock salts would be from sea salts. My bacon bar was delicious and immediately inhaled. The shop is small, but open and bright. She has a selection of very select dark chocolates from around the world, as well as in house chocolates. The selection was small when we went but it looked like she was working on more stuff. Parking is street or nearby lots. I did not ask, but I imagine she has a restroom available for use given the class offerings. We plan to sign up for the truffle making class and may look into the chocolate tasting class as well.
TL;DR - Sweet shop not so sweet, discriminates against people with disabilities. Just tried to make a reservation for the Cocoa Bean Shoppe for my friend, her daughter and I. The daughter has Cri du chat, a severe disability. The shop owner was super rude! She demanded at least 10 times that the mother watch the daughter so we don't disturb the other patrons, even though I assured her that her mother would be watching her the entire time. Then she tried to get us to sign a waiver saying the shop isn't going to accommodate us and doesn't have to by law. She said the landlord has liability concerns, and can we sign up for a private class so we don't disturb the other patrons? I was livid. As for the icing on a not-so-sweet cake? The owner won't refund my money.
I have been in this shop on more than one occasion and each time I have had a WONDERFUL experience! I learned so much about chocolate and appreciated the class I took! This sweet shop has quality chocolates, friendly service, a very professional likeable owner and is located in a lovely town! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND The Cocoa Bean Shoppe to chocolate lovers or anyone who would like to give someone a gift of chocolate!!!
We have brought many people with disabilities into this store. We all were treated wonderfully. When we needed to sign a waiver WE did. Some people refused and feel that someone protecting their livelihood is wrong. This store is a must stop in, its the best!
Chocolate tasting was so fun and satisfying

I have been extremely impressed by the professional and personal care I have received at Vega Plastic Surgery and Med Spa! The kindness extended to me following my breast care diagnosis was not only heart warming but also gave me confidence that everyone in the office was “on my team” during this scary and painful journey. I highly recommend Dr. Farkas and Dr. Vega along with the office professionals!!!
I came to Dr. Vega for reconstruction due to an unfortunate complication and loss of breast that I had with the previous surgeon. From the first moment I walked in the office they have been extremely empathetic to my situation and guided me through this journey. I never expected my new constructed breast to be so beautiful. Dr. Vega exceeded my expectations and has made me whole again and for this I will forever be grateful to him and his wonderful team!! Danielle and Christina stood by my side through the entire journey and always checked in on me and I will forever be grateful to these Girls💜💜. Sincerely Jessica Isyk
I'm so happy I found Dr Vega and Dr Farkas to do my double mastectomy and reconstruction. So far, my results are wonderful and anytime I've had a question, it's been answered thoroughly and professionally. The front desk staff and every one of the team members are amazing, personable and so welcoming, I recommend Dr Vega and his team to everyone I know.
Vega Plastic Surgery has made my breast cancer journey so much more manageable than I ever anticipated. Compassionate, friendly and positive words from everyone. Highly recommend.
Dr. Vega is a highly-regarded physician & one of the best plastic surgeons in all of upstate/WNY! I’ve worked with numerous surgeons over the past 15+ years and he is phenomenal at what he does! I recently had a lower eyelid blepharoplasty… I wouldn’t trust many people to do a procedure on my body, let alone my face. However, I knew I’d be in great hands with Dr Vega from start to finish. Amy is so nice and so helpful, from the moment I called his office to schedule my 1st consult. His nurses and staff are all such nice people and very knowledgeable. I met with his PA Danielle for part of my consult and some post op follow ups- She is wonderful too. Karen, RN, assisted Dr. Vega with my in office procedure and made me so comfortable because I was a very nervous patient. Dr. Vega took his time during the case. He’s so detail oriented and aims to achieve the best possible outcomes every time. He wanted my results to be perfect (as did I of course!) and they are!! I am so happy I finally made the decision to do this for myself. Honestly, the best decision I’ve made. I’m sooooo happy with my results and I’m only a little over a month post op, which is crazy bc my eyes and incision sites (that are already unnoticeable) are going to continue to heal and look even more perfect. Thank you Dr. Vega and team @ Vega Plastic Surgery & Medspa :)
I am very happy with my experience with Dr. Vega and his staff. Dr. Vega is friendly, caring, straight-forward and down to earth. He is extremely talented and knowledgeable, and has an incredible passion for what he does, which is to make others' lives better. I had breast reconstruction and am very happy with my results. He tailored the treatment to meet my needs and I couldn't be happier. Both he and his staff took the time to explain all of the available treatment options to me and my husband. I found him to be up-to-date - offering the best treatments available. It is a long process and I have been treated with respect by Dr. Vega and all of his staff all the way through my treatment. I highly recommend Vega Plastic Surgery.
I chose not to go ahead with this practice and I would like to explain why. In preparing for a breast reduction I researched all of my options, who would be covered by my insurance, who has the best reputation, and was told Dr. Vega is THE GUY to go to for breasts. Well. It took 2 months and me having to hound someone to get a consultation scheduled. The day finally arrived and I didn't even meet with Dr. Vega, I met with the PA. Christina was lovely, very nice, but I want to meet and speak with the person who would actually be operating. If I was to do that I would need to schedule another consultation, pay another consult fee, take more time off from my job. Strike one. In my consultation I asked Christina, how a final size goal is determined. She said it's based on minimum requirements for insurance, and what Dr. Vega thinks is appropriate. I asked what if what I want is smaller than what he wants to do? She said: he just won't do it. Strike two. I said, it's very important to me that I'm not left too large. What happens if I'm not happy with my results? I would have to pay out of pocket for revisions, they would not resubmit me for insurance. Strike three. As a bonus, they submitted me to insurance without asking me first, just assuming I was using them, which caused problems for the office I did end up selecting. I am the patient. I am the one who has to live with these things. I am the one who is paying for the procedure. I have been waiting 20 years for this and it is one of the biggest decisions I will ever make. I was ready to walk out the door the minute the PA said Dr. Vega wouldn't even care what I asked for, he would just do what he wants. I wish I hadn't even wasted anyone's time if I would have known in advance he doesn't really care what the person responsible for paying his bill is asking for.
Dr Farkas is wonderful. Took away all the stress and worry from my procedure with her compassion and humor. Two thumbs up!!
