Proud Lake Recreation is such a beautiful place. This was the first time I've been there. The paths are magical. The deeper you go into the woods, the more you feel like you've been transported into a different time. Surprisingly, there weren't that many people walking the trails that day. A group of us went on a Sunday early in the afternoon. I had my 2 y.o. grandson with me. I did have his heavy-duty stroller, which I'm glad my son dropped it off before we left. The deeper you go into the woods, the more rough the terrain becomes. So you may want to wear hiking boots. My Sketchers were definitely not the footwear of choice and weren't cutting it. However, my tree hugging daughter loves to do earthing and walked the whole trail barefoot! We did see a few joggers, though. The mosquitoes weren't too bad as long as you were moving. There are benches to rest ever so often that are dedicated to a loved one, which I thought was nice. But I can tell you it was a beautiful 4-mile walk, and I will definitely be walking those trails again. Just remember to take a big jug of water and have fun! p.s. there are also outhouse type restrooms at designated spots.
Proud Lake Recreation Area is such a beautiful spot. The kind of place that makes you instantly slow down and just breathe. The scenery is pure Michigan, with winding trails, peaceful water views, and plenty of space to explore. I attended the Barefoot & Free Yoga Festival here, and it was the perfect setting surrounded by nature, sunshine, and good energy. Whether you’re hiking, kayaking, camping, or just sitting by the water, there’s something special about this park. It feels both peaceful and alive, and you leave feeling refreshed. A must-visit for anyone who loves the outdoors.
About 3,030 acres of woodlands, wetlands, and a chain of lakes. Whether you’re a nature lover or an adventure seeker, this is a nice park to check out if in the area! Proud Lake itself is the heart of the park, drawing anglers, kayakers, and canoeists who come for excellent fishing and peaceful water activities.
There’s a boat launch for easy access, and the lake’s serene waters are perfect for paddling. The park also features a range of hiking and mountain biking trails, plus over 3.5 miles of the Huron River to explore. Some designated trails even allow horse back riding. The diverse landscape makes it a prime spot for birdwatching and wildlife spotting, especially in the wetlands. Camping is also a great option here, with over 100 sites offering both modern and rustic experiences.
Absolutely loved my time at Proud Lake Recreation Area! The kayaking was peaceful and beautiful, with stunning views and breathtaking scenery all around. It’s such a serene and scenic spot. I loved everything about it. Can’t wait to go back!
This is a great campground with great amenities. The bathroom/shower house is always clean and stocked. The lake is a great feature. The staff is very helpful and friendly. I camp alot and this is my favorite local spot.
The Barefootandfree yoga festival is the best event of the year! I help with the set up and i can honestly say it's very well organized with volunteers! Then they are allowed to attend! 🕉🙏
Beautiful place to canoe. Never get tired of it even after 40 years of paddling that same stretch of the Huron. It's always new. This time it was full of beaver/muskrat lodges. Didn't see that 40 years ago!
I had a great time. Kayaking was so much fun! The lakes are amazing. The campsite we had was huge. The shower water was ice cold ao that was a bummer. And the poison ivy was so bad. If you walk down the staircase to the swim area, beware. That posion ivy is sticking out through the steps and it will touch your ankles. The trails we had behind our site were also being used by people and that sucked cause there were kids literally riding their bikes Through Our campsite. I mean, we paid for that site up against the woods to have more privacy and not have people walk through our site. But, we still felt like there was No camping etiquette when it came to respecting boundaries. Personally I'd never walk through someone's site. That's just selfish. But I do recommend camping here. Hoping we'll eventually find our fave spot.

Great local brewery in town. Nice place to hangout with friends and/or coworkers. I think being your own food is good idea.
Very chill atmosphere. Sitting outside on either patio is nice and so is inside. Cycle the trail and grab a pint!
I have nothing but great things to say about my experience here. First, Tim was extremely attentive and sweet. The last time we were there was a year ago and he recognized us. We did the beer flights- I chose all the fruity beers. Husband chose the porters and some others. My favorites were the strawberry and cider, but their coffee beer was phenomenal! Meg was another amazing person. Her artwork on the beer menu was so impressive. She, like Tim, was super sweet and attentive. We played darts, drank beer, and had a wonderful evening.
Friendly, helpful ladies at the counter and plenty of delicious beers to choose from. It would be cool if they had a food menu, but the food trucks and "bring your own food" policy make up for that. I love the indoor atmosphere and I'll be back for sure the next time I'm in the area.
A really nice place if you want to try on some really unique tap beers. They have something like 15-20 beers on tap. The place has great ambience and vibe to it. I would highly recommend their Two Point Perspective and Bitter Brit beers which really have a very unique taste. The service is really good and the place is not very expensive. The downside (or upside) is that they don't have their own kitchen but they allow you to bring your own food. But there is a Jet's Pizza only 50 ft from the brewery to order food. Overall, a really nice brewery to try some unique on tap beers!
The woman working tonight 7/19/25 was condescending telling me she’s worked here a while when I said I’ve been coming since open and asked the gentleman I recognized his recommendation. Honestly, she needs coaching. I did not have a second beer because of this attitude/mentality and I love this place. I can post a photo of multiple merchandise purchases and even IG photos from over the years being a customer. Absolutely dumbfounded by the arrogance I received for no reason. Management should speak with her regarding friendliness with customers. This was at 18:00 (6pm EST). I’ll be back but can’t believe the level of disrespect I received today after being a decade long customer (almost, 9 years).
We love Drafting Table! Every beer we've tried is delicious, environment is incredible, staff is awesome and friendly. The schedule of food trucks is a bonus. We look forward to going back!
An fairly new brewery right around the corner of Pontiac trail & Wixom road. They have an amazing draft selection with BYOB food option. The space is great that offers indoor and outdoor seating and they have board games. I recommend doing the beer Flight so that you can try majority of the draft option.

This escape room was awesome! My group and I had a really good time. We played The Studio. Lots of gameplay elements I haven't seen in rooms before. It was challenging, but we beat it (and hold the new record for the room!). They just opened back up from the pandemic and the owner doesn't know if they'll stay open past the end of the year, so go check this escape room out while you still can! Maybe if we bring them enough business, they'll stay open.
Fantastically detailed Escape Room! We played n this airstream. Almost won with a team of 4. The gamemaster is creative and helpful. Highly recommend.
Family outing, we had a fantastic time. Our game master Sarah was fantastic, providing just enough support to help and make the experience thoroughly enjoyable. The Gypsy room was very well put together, very authentic while providing a really fun challenge. It was very accessible and great for all ages. I’ve been to the escape room in Novi, and this one was far superior in every way. The game master being in the room with us was a welcome presence, and everyone in our group had an amazing time.
this escape room was great. we did The Studio Room and it was well balanced and took the perfect amount of time. there were clever puzzles and still little things that can trick you. all in all, me and my group had a great time and was one of the best escape rooms i have experienced.
Second time at an escape room and this place did not disappoint! The clues were difficult but doable and very entertaining. One of the owners talked with the group after escaping and gave us more detail and background on our theme room, and was very knowledgeable. Can't wait to try the new rooms!
My wife and I had the wonderful pleasure tonight of going through the Steampunk Gypsy Thieves Oil room. Having been to a few Escape Rooms, I must rate this one at the top. The Vintage props and the overall Steampunk Theme is VERY well executed. Wonderful story line, great puzzles and a great over all experience. I HIGHLY recommend this room. Do not be swayed by the couple negative reviews. Not everyone can be happy all the time. Yes, the Game Master was in the room but I did not find him to be a hindrance at all. While we were working the puzzles, he was very informative about how he built the room and found all the BEAUTIFUL vintage props... VERY WELL DONE...
Fantastic family day. 5 of us ages 16-51 went did the Escape Room and had an absolute blast!!! Recommend it to anyone wanting to have a fun hour of fun :) We will be back when you have other rooms ready for us to ESCAPE ;) Game Master was very nice, and it was for sure a challenge to get through in 60 min. We just made it at the buzzer!
Bought this as a gift and family celebration for my neices 16th birthday, and WOW did we have a blast. The Gypsy room was gourgously decorated and unique. Our party was 7 and that was definitely all that could fit comfortably in there, but it wasn't crowded. Our GameMaster was AMAZING and helpful, but still made it so we worked together as a team to find the clues. The room was challenging yet still achievable, and it was great to have the GameMaster in the room with us. We we're able to solve the puzzle and escape the room with 13 seconds left, and it was so intense and fun at the end!! This company also does off-site team building programs (it's mobile!!) and not only do I think this would be a great team building experience, but also one that people would be talking about for a long time after. The only dissappointment we had with experience was that the cute dog from the website photos wasn't there. 🙂 I highly recommend this Escape Room. It was so great, and I know a couple of people that will be getting this at Christmas for a unique and exciting gift. And we will be returning as soon as the new rooms that are under construction are competed!! Thank you!

I came here for the Wixom Toy Show. It was definitely worth the visit! The facility itself is pretty clean and is obviously used more for sports, but the toy show was great! And at $5 a ticket, good way to kill some time on a Saturday. However I recommend coming to the event with a couple hundred if you want the full experience and be able to get you some awesome retro goodies!
Total dump. We came for the Motor City Baseball Tournament. Parking lot sucks - not near enough parking by the fields. Porta potties disgusting. You could trek through 2 buildings inside to use the restrooms, but those were just as gross. Rocks and dirt everywhere off paved paths. This is just not a nice facility. For all the money they are making, the experience could be a lot better for parents/spectators. The turf fields/lights are nice, but that's it.
Older facility, nice fields. Snack bar is a nice addition. Would be nice if they maintained the parking lot. Huge pot holes and major undulations collect water and ice in snowy conditions
The staff is kind and knowledgeable. I appreciate their feedback after sessions. My kids have loved the soccer training program. Highly recommend!!
It was pretty cool. It was just like being on a soccer field but inside. My kids had a blast. They had good food prices weren’t too bad. Most importantly, my kids were happy so I’m happy.
On a spring Saturday, hopelessly terrible parking. Be prepared to walk and walk and walk, if you’re ever able to find a space on the property. No seating or stands on the baseball diamonds for family and friends of players. Overall, poor outside facilities and amenities.
Michelle is the best! She always handles our field bookings with professionalism and cares about our soccer club. She understands how teams are managed and accommodates requests even at challenging times of day. Thank you Michelle!
It's a nice facility for indoor sports, like football, soccer, etc. They have a good snack bar as well. The only reason I give it a 3 is because of the women's restroom. It's smelly, disgusting, and always nasty. The restroom needs to be updated immediately. Someone should clean the restroom every 30 minutes or at least every hour.

There are 2 dog parks. One for smaller dogs and the other for large dogs. You enter through a common gate for both. The only unpleasant thing is the type of dirt in the parking lot. Upon getting into your car to leave you create dirty footprints everywhere because of the soil used in the car parking lot.
Want going to write one, but lately I’ve been here walking and the amount of dog feces is insane. I’ve stepped on more of it than I have in my many times I’ve been here. I love and adore this park, but what’s the purpose of signs if people aren’t going to bother with following them. This is how parks get bad reps and make people stop coming to one that is well organized. If you can’t follow the rules, then go somewhere else, I’m not here to not have a good walk because I’m going to have to look where I step, NO! If you can’t pick it up, ask for help, it’s not that hard, better yet, keep an eye on your dog.
Very nice park, and nice big dog park. Seems well maintained. Free admission during the winter, otherwise you need an Oakland County Parks pass or a daily pass ($10?).
We love this dog park and it's my dog's favorite place. It's got two very large fenced in areas which alternate bring open and a smaller area for small dogs up front. There's a few gazebos for shade and trash bins and bags posted around the perimeter for cleaning up after your pet. Lastly, it's nearly all grass which is mowed regularly and free (for the most part) of holes and sharp rocks. Really one of the best dog parks we've been to. 5$ admission or a reasonable priced season pass is well worth it!
My two beagles love the Lyon Oaks Dog Park! Our 17 month old beagle has endless energy and he actually is tired after we leave. They have so much fun and have been making some new fur-friends. We will definitely be visiting again in the future during the next few months while the weather is nice.
Large, clean, secure and visited by well behaved owners. Been here a few times and have only witnessed positive interactions by dogs and owners.
What great park. Took Rocko for the first time today and he had a blast. I was surprised how many people and dogs were there for a cold winter's day. It was great. So many great dogs there.
Friendly, clean, and huge. Naomi loved it!

I’ve always wanted to do this and my first experience was awesome! I was a guest at a friends private birthday party and we all had a blast! The instructor and his helpers were so encouraging and helpful. They made everyone’s art piece feel unique and special -even with thise “happy mistakes “😊
This was such a fun experience! I will definitely go again. Beforehand, I wish I would have known to bring my own water bottle, so you may want to go prepared (though there is a water fountain). Also, I would advise wearing clothing that you could part with if needed. The paints will likely be forever a part of your clothing if you accidentally spill or splatter. They have aprons but still…
This was my first time painting since childhood! I thought my painting would be a disaster, but it actually turned out pretty well to my surprise. All thanks to Olivia, our instructor at the Farmington location. She was patient, kind and made us feel welcome. I could have never done this without her. Now I have the courage to try new things and be creative in art. Thank you Miss Olivia!
Thank You!!!!!!!!! Crystal and her assistant were awesome, patient and understanding. We got a late start but they helped us to get all of Picasso’s finished in own unique style
Ms. Rose that booked my party at the time l walked in she was upbeat, encouraging and supportive... then to get to the event and have Brian execute the way he did in the instruction and humor... all while supporting and encouraging those that really wanted to complete the artwork. Did i mention, Janay, the assistant instructor! She navigated the crowd and gave suggestions on how to create their artwork... she was awesome, great pair. Such a wonderful experience and quite a few in our party had been to other locations and said by far this was their best experience. The space was decent for our party of 20, the time flew by so fast. I definitely would consider this l location for another event.
Had a GREAT time for a bday outing, and our instructor, Crystal, was SO fun and super helpful! We will definitely be back for anothervone of her classes!!!
I had a blast at my cousins Birthday party! Janay was amazing, patient, kind and knew how to create an amazing vibe at our painting session!
We had a fantastic experience. The presenter and assistant did a great job of leading the class, the music was fun, and it was fun socializing with the people around us, and we're both really happy with our paintings! We will definitely be back!
