Clean sites, very quiet. Beach is nice and there is a lovely walking trail around the campground. My daughter and I love it there. We were able to check in a few hours early as well, which was a huge bonus. We will be back :)
Rochon Sands Campground offers sites suited to both RVs and tents, including open spots near the lake and others nestled into the surrounding forest. There are a handful of walk-in tent sites as well. Enjoy lots of beach and lakeside activities here: swimming, canoeing, sailing, windsurfing, power boating, fishing, birding and wildlife watching.
The sites vary greatly so you have to check carefully. Some have lots of trees and some are wide open. But the beach is really flat and you can walk out really fast. Great for young kids or people who aren't comfortable in deep water
This is the best beach on Buffalo Lake. The one section of it is very rocky, but the other side is exceptionally nice sand. Very soft and sandy, not rocky at all. The actual lake itself can vary depending on time of year and depth as to whether the water is clear or mucky, but do expect some seaweed. The beach itself is average sized. The depth is very shallow so that you can walk out likely 200 metres or more and still have it not past your waist. This beach is lovely but not too busy. Even on busy weekends I have never seen it so busy it’s impossible to snag a decent spot. The beach has an old change room, and some stinky and dirty outhouses. But thankfully it does have a shower to rinse off at. If you walk a ways or drive about two minutes from the beach you’ll get to a little snack shack which is tasty, and a playground which is new and quite good. My kids enjoy it. There also is an older playground right at the beach, but it’s not the greatest. The beach asks for a dollar or two per person but it is not enforced strictly. This is my favourite low-key central Alberta beach. And definitely a lot better, in my opinion, than the other beaches I’ve been too on Buffalo Lake.
When the water level is low enough, the sandy beach besides boat launch site is gorgeous for enjoying the summer sunshine. The sand is so soft and laying on it feels like u are in somewhere southern ocean beach. The campground nearby is pretty organized, and bushes and trees around each site provide good privacy. Each site is far away from the neighbours. If u enjoy this park please don’t forget to pay $1 at the beach entrance to local foundation which maintains this park
This is a clean and very well kept provincial park on Buffalo Lake. The camping sites are big, and there are dozens of individual and group camping sites. There is a boat launch in the park.
This is a beautiful beach to go to, we absolutely loved it and would go back. They have a play structure here, day use area, very clean place. No lifeguard on duty. Dogs are allowed at this park (on a leash) but not allowed on the beach. Outhouses are located at the beach and near the entrance of day use area which are kept very clean. Sandy beach but rocks are in the water so wear your water shoes. Boat launch at entrance of day use area.
A hidden gem in Alberta! A quaint, sleepy lakeside community with a beautiful beach and a sandy bottom shallow lake. I went there to play a round of disc golf and lived the community. The locals are very friendly. The disc golf course is short but still fun. Hole 14 is up the road from hole 13 and so is not obvious unless you have the u-disc app. Hole 18 finishes at a snack shack with reasonably priced burgers, fries and ice cream. A great place to spend a summer day!

We love the playground in this park with a lot of options I don't normally see; such as giant tree stumps to climb, a four person teeter totter and 2 huge slides. Also a playhouse. My kids enjoyed climbing the hill nearby as well. I would recommend and as a parent enjoyed the nice clean picnic tables, soft rubber floor to cushion falls, and nearby spraypark as well.
Fantastic place to visit in the summer or the winter! Whether you are just out for a stroll on the paved pathways and bridges or casting a line in the water to take advantage of the catch and release ponds! You will find lots of family fun at West Stettler Park! They host music in the park on Wednesday Nights! They have an awesome park for the little ones! Bench seating all around the paths! And a large hill to Tucker your youngins out! BUT!!! In the winter the hill becomes a staple for all ages looking to sled, carpet, board, or ski!! The hill showcases your most skilled snow pro or the most unskilled fail army candidate. Fun for everyone year round!
Great place to walk, watch the wildlife have a coffee with friends as lots of places to sit.
Oh, have I said that Lucky loves his walks in this park, while on his leash. Large family of Canada Geese, and a few Mallard Ducks greeted Lucky along the way. Andrea took some pictures, we'll see if she can share them with us here. Lots of waste bins, groomed with pride! So well maintained. We have a few more days in the area, so that means many more walks for us all!
Beautiful little walking path except for the water it stinks really badly I couldn't have a picnic but the walking part is always nice and always so nice to see the geese with their young ones
Really nice recreation area with good size parking lot. It is well used with lots of walkers and runners starting out here as well as children and caregivers / family playing on the two visible play areas - jungle gym and that sort of thing plus the spray park itself. Nice wide pathway stretching out, meandering through nice landscape a few blocks east. At the end it circles around on a return path on the other side. A good little workout or walk would be accomplished to do the entire circle. Washrooms are well attended, cleaned thoroughly every day but weekends I expect - I was here 3 week days in a row. They use a good amount of bleach with water while literally sloshing down all surfaces, including the benches for changing on. Large garbage cans available too. Nice! Next time I take photos 🤦‍♀️
Great place! They just updated the skate park. I love walking around, and going onto the hill. Great place to take kids. The water park is fun as well, though I do believe its in needs of a pretty over due update. Some of the aspects are broken, and the water swells and pools around the cement so its hard to find a spot to sit. They need to expand it in my honest opinion!
Has outdoor water spray park, playground, fishing spot, walking/biking trails, fun for all ages.

Maintain so wel and cleanl, the staff are super nice. So much to see and lots of Barbie dolls collections. The park and all the heritage house are displayed and staging like old days. My family and my youths enjoyed so much.
Minimal fee to get to see a variety of exhibits. If this is your first time, you’re probably going need a couple of hours to enjoy everything. Also, you can enjoy a relaxing round of mini golf too. Very knowledgeable and friendly staff.
Amazing! So much history, hidden goodies, and small but relevant treasures! Very reasonable cost. Very convenient location. My family spent double if not triple the time we thought we were going to spend!
Lots to look at, easy to spend 2-3 hours here. Also has a mini golf course if that's your thing
Happened to drive by with the family and stopped in for a visit. Two hours later we left with much appreciation. Interesting cars, tractors, wood working equipment and trains. Friendly people happy to share their knowledge.
Cool place. They honored my late Aunt Wilda here today. Volunteer and curator of the Stettler museum for over 30 yrs.
A beautiful small town museum. I will definitely be back!
We had a great time. It is nicely done and very interesting. Lots to see and learn. Loved it!

Hosted our second annual golf tournament at Pheasantback Golf Course on a beautiful fall day. The course was in tip-top top condition, and the staff, service and food was excellent! We highly recommend taking a trip and golfing at Pheasantback!
Late sept 2025 Course is in excellent condition. Great fairways and super tricky greens, especially on 10. If you play here often, lucky you. If you have not played a great small town in the country course for a while. Make the drive and enjoy the conditions and challange here.
I love this course. It's definitely a challenging course as a beginner but it's so fun to play. The landscaping is beautiful and well kept. Each hole has signs and direction so it's very easy to navigate and play. The bathrooms are clean and well taken care of. They give you a complimentary cart with a cooler. The food is delicious. The staff are always happy, helpful, and friendly. The shop has great merch and fair prices.
What a hidden gem. This course was so cool to play. It had so much elevation change and blind shots. I can't wait to play it again. We played 2 different courses the day we played here and if I had my time back I would have played pheasantback twice, because after not knowing the course at all it was time to play again with the knowledge. Beautifuly maintained. Great staff. A true must play. Range balls for their water driving range were overpriced so that's the only thing I can pick on, thay being said it was a grass range. Everything else was terrific.
Visited for a tournament and WOW ! Course is amazing, and in excellent condition. Exceptional service by staff as well. Will definitely visit again!
Will not allow private carts. Seems silly with so many local golf cart owners nearby at Buffalo lake. Lesson learned, will golf in Alex from now on.
Worth Every Penny. Nice Layout with a Pride of Ownership. Challenging for All Levels
Course was nice, so green! If I was a better golfer it might have been more fun :(

Stu and the staff are always so welcoming, friendly and accommodating. We golf a lot of places but our favourite is Stettler. We are incredibly lucky to have such a great course right in town! Always will recommend and will continually thank Stu for ensuring the greens are pristine! Thank you!
Great staff, very personable. Great practice green. Greens are in good shape with a historic layout. I have never played a course where the fairway is basically a penalty. Fairways are bare but that is the only drawback
Grandson loves it.
This place is a little run down, but it's a cozy sort of run down, it's still functional it's just got the look of being well used. The carts all work fine and the course is usually in good shape. The staff have always been nice to me, and the chef there makes some decent food. Not a bad place to spend a day.
For a 9 hole course it is quite pleasant. The day we played, July 3rd, the weather was perfect although there was a lot of ground water due to previous rain. Greens and fairways were good except for the water wet spots. No refreshments on the course the afternoon we golfed so pack your own beverage.
Fairways very dry, but greens are in great shape. Very friendly and wonderful staff
Good country course for all skill levels to enjoy! Great staff and golf course dog Ralph
Well kept course. Some fun and challenging holes. Great food and bar service. Enjoy golfing here every season.
