Visited Carp Lake this summer, honestly thought I already reviewed but my bad....visited soo many amazing places this one got missed but you shouldn't! The drive out is on a gravel road, seems like you're driving to nowhere but trust me....keep going!!! Carp Lake is stunning, clear water and the lake is massive. Campsites are clean and lots of bathroom and water taps to pick from. While out there you also have to check out War Falls. Signage is a little hidden, walk down takes about 8 minutes and totally worth the views! Pack a lunch and a bathing suit, spend the day and enjoy the multi level falls.
Beautiful campground. Quiet spacious. Awesome views of the lake. Great trails. Check out Warlake and war falls. Well worth the gravelly drive. Will be back. Did not find bugs a nuisance.
One of the quietest and very large campsites. Love the access to the Lake.
Planned on staying for 2 weeks starting July 19 but the bugs were so bad we just staying one night. The bug were swarming as soon as we got out of the truck. Horse flies, Deer flies, Black flies, No- see-ums, and mosquitoes. Very aggressive and hungry. It’s too bad because it’s a beautiful place. It might be better in late August.
For the last 10 years or so I have been going to Carp Lake every summer for 7 to 10 days depending on days off. It has always been a nice place to camp with very little worries. This year is a very different story. The camp grounds seem very unkept and not clean. The bathrooms that are usually clean are dirty and I almost dont want to use them. I'm being told I can"BUY A BUNDLE OF WOOD FOR $8 A BUNDLE" or I won't have wood for my camping trip??? What the hell do I pay camping fees for then?? Are these people employed to run the park and scalp wood to honest campers?? Hopefully next time I go to Carp Lake it will look like it's better kept and someone really cares about what the park looks like. I really dont want to camp anywhere else #UNHAPPYCAMPER
A piece of paradise. The dirt road in was a worry, but it turned out to be pretty solid. Travel trailer handled it just fine. It's a relatively shallow lake and it warms up quite nicely if it's a hot summer.
It was very good very fun but the only thing is is that the mosquitos and no see ums are outrageous but other then that it was fabulous with a campsite right by the lake waking up in the morning lookingg at the lake very nice and the park operations guy was very friendly he didn't rush it very kind
wonderful and little known park with great fishing
