Very well organized provincial park set in the south eastern edge of the Canadian Shield. This park is full of activity. We enjoyed hiking and canoeing thru out the weekend we were there. A special treat was watching the dozen or so rock climbers scale a shear rock face some hundred or so meters directly across from an amazing view point. Secondly, the park was hosting a 5, 10, and 43 km trail run event that had runners looping around the camp with regular campers cheering them on everywhere. And, the dog beach and off leash areas are fantastic. Highly recommend.
Beautiful location and amazing hiking experience. The canoeing experience is also fantastic. We camped there for 4 days with 5 kids . The park is kids friendly. My only concern was the washrooms. There were very limited numbers of comfort washrooms and outhouses with flushes. Overall great outdoor experience.
Beautiful park to camp, just been here overnight one night so far. Enjoying the visit very much. The beaches are nice, the water clear. Going to kayak later, to absorb the gorgeous scenery. The comfort stations are so clean! Been to many provincial parks to camp, this is the cleanest bathrooms I’ve seen! Great job staff!
We love it here. We had a rustic cabin, and it was phenomenal. Clean, we'll maintained, and it was easy to find. We are definitely coming back to this great provincial park. There is a lot to do. You need mostly a canoe to go around the lakes and see the history and nature.
I recently visited Bon Echo Provincial Park and stayed in one of the cabins. The experience was fantastic! The cabin was cozy and well-maintained, offering a beautiful view of the surroundings. The water was clean, perfect for a refreshing swim. The park also offers canoe rentals, making it easy to explore the serene waters. Highly recommend for a peaceful and enjoyable getaway.
The park really is incredible. I'm lucky to have check off another Ontario Parks campground on my bucketlist, and it was the best three days of autumn. The midway campsite is family friendly with plenty of activities nearby. We stayed from Saturday to Monday in. Radio Free campground, it's busy on weekdays and really peaceful on weekday. There weren't many bugs except in shady areas, so keep that in mind during the evenings. Nature is breathtaking to explore. Overall, it's an incredible park for beginner campers!
🌟 Awesome Experience! This was the best provincial park we've visited so far near the GTA, 4hrs drive away. We stayed in the cabins, and everything was perfect. I highly recommend it for a group of friends or family. Here are some helpful tips: 🏠 Cabin: We booked a cabin that felt secure and safe, equipped with electricity and heating. Here are the amenities: 🍳 Kitchenette: - Microwave - Hot water heater - Mini fridge/freezer - Wash basin - Chopping boards - Trash can 🛏️ Sleeping Arrangements: - One queen bed - One bunk bed (double and single) - Mattresses provided - Ceiling fan and lamp included Make sure to bring: - Bed linen, blanket, and pillows - Towels - Trash bags 📶 Cellular Service: Only Rogers has cellular service in the area. There is no water line in the cabin, but tap water is just a 2-minute walk away. A portable washroom is nearby as well. 🚿 Main Washroom: The main washroom is a 10-minute walk away and is clean and well-maintained. 🪵 Outdoor Amenities: Next to the cabin is a large table and a bonfire area. You need to bring or buy firewood, which is available for sale in the campground. 🌅 Scenic Views: The view from the cabin is spectacular. Downhill from the cabin is the lake, where we went fishing and actually caught a few trout. 🎣 ⛵ Canoeing Adventure: We rented a canoe for a day, and it was amazing! We saw pictographs painted on the mountain rocks thousands of years ago. 🗺️ Hiking: Be sure to use the map and go hiking. There’s a trail we discovered that is only accessible by canoe. The trail was easy, but the views were breathtaking, overlooking the entire lake. ❤️ Final Thoughts: We fell in love with this place and can’t wait to come back!
Park was the cleanest provincial park we've been too. Surrounding views from all the waterfront was gorgeous. Loved how there were 3 or 4 different beaches you could go to that all offered different benefits. One downside is I found the store far/difficult to reach without driving through the whole park. Also they offered a night time telescope experience that sounded great but there wasn't enough info provided. We went with our kids and didn't realize there was a very far walk through the pitch black trails to go from the observatory to a different location for telescope viewing. Not ideal with young children and even worse since ours have a physical disability and can't do far walks. We talked to the person who ran it and we ended up driving around but couldn't find it. Went to main desk, they seemed to think it was in a different direction. Was a hassle only to find out it was too cloudy to view the stars. Besides that one fiasco the rest of the trip was amazing. Will absolutely return.

Such a great place for everyone! It’s great to learn the story of each farm pet, the pets are so well taken care of, and so friendly! Please come to visit and support the farm! Or make donations on their website! They deserve it!
Donna and Barry are a very kind and welcoming couple. My family and I visited their rescue farm this morning and got to meet all the wonderful animals and hear their story. They drop everything they’re doing to give tours when visitors come in and are very passionate about what they do and very loving towards the animals. I would highly recommend anyone and everyone to come visit their farm. It’s definitely a different experience.
Heart touching experience. Everything about this place has a wonderful story behind it. If there were more people like Donna and Barry in the world it would be a better place. I am certain the animals at the farm would agree as well. This rescue farm is not a professional money making business, but a family BUILT and run rescue farm that has opened it's doors to the public. If you are in the Bon Echo area or even passing through on your way to Ottawa or surrounding areas I highly recommend stopping here to recharge your emotional batteries.
We had a great time learning about each animals backstory of how they each came to be rescued. This isn't a typical petting zoo, you receive a far more hands on experience where you can interact with the animals more directly (hugging donkeys, brushing the horses) All animals are rescued and the proceeds of the admissions go directly towards the cost of caring for the animals
This place is a great little stop if you are in the area. Barry showed us around and filled us in on each of the animals history. The animals were super interactive and loving. You definitely know that these animals are loved and they love to show their love to everyone. Barry and his family are truly good hearted people and it shows.
Such a fun place to visit, our tour guide gave us quick stories of all the animals and how they became a part of land o lakes petting farm. The cow and the llamas are the best part!
A wonderful place run by wonderful people! The rescued animals are so tame and gentle -- great fun for the whole family to pet and feed! A hidden gem that I wholeheartedly endorse anyone in the area to visit!
Cannot say enough wonderful things about this place & the amazing people who run it. My husband & I took out 16 month old because he loves farm animals. All the animals were so friendly & gentle. They all have a sad backstory but it is so heartwarming to see them enjoying their second & some of them third chances at life. We cannot wait to go back again & again! I highly recommend for everyone especially families & animal lovers :)
