We've been to the elephant retirement park in phang nga and had the most amazing experience! First there was a very spacious van who picked us up from our hotel in Khaolak, after an hour of driving we arrived to the park where Miki (our cool guide) was waiting for us. The whole trip we were traveling threw a thick jungle, the staff was very kind and was extremely gentle with the elephant, each elephant have a story worth telling.. We also took a cooking class and learned how to cook delicious papaya salad and padthai! After lunch (a very good one) Miki and a very respectful man name Mr boonjuer the village took us to see some beautiful waterfalls, and local people welcomed us to their home. We tasted a lot of fresh local fruit (: In summery, all the people who work at this park are extremely nice, they have everything you need to make this trip perfect! Even though it was raining it only made this adventure better! The trip is well organized from top to bottom Highly recommended!!!
Worthy visit! Visit this park instead of others - they take very good care of the elephants and money for entry are spent on the animals, not profit. The staff is very friendly and they speak English. The place is easy to reach by bicycle from Phang Nga - that's how we did it. Best experience in Thailand!
Highly recommended! We had such an amazing day with the elephants! Words can't describe this experience. Your have to try! Great staff, super friendly. The elepahnts can just be elephants - they are well treated and cared for - that was very important to us!
Was good for kids, but felt a little bit disappointed, when we went for elephant ride, the elephant instructor got down in between and went for peeing, we were sitting on elephant and there was no one supervising it. I got a bit scared. And they were asking 100thb for taking pictures in our mobile or camera otherwise we were not allowed to click photos, it’s too much. One of there crew took our photo while ride and asked 250thb for the same. Then if you want to feed elephant then also you need to pay for food and photo both. I felt like for every small thing they were asking money while we already paid money for ride. I won’t recommend this place for anyone.
Most amazing experience in my travels so far! I would recommend this place to anyone! I love how they let elephants be elephants! I would never in my wildest dreams think that I would be in a river bathing an elephant. Our guide Biggy was amazing!
The Thai elephant is best friend of Russian elephant!
Was very disappointed that the elephants were chained and had a pick axe to their heads. Made me sick. Go to an elephant sanctuary instead!
Excellent retirement for the elephants, new and need advertising, nice lunch and cooking lesson, would go again.
