Great place to go for a visit. A few picnic tables around the place. Public toilets are nearby. There is a few walking tracks/trails around of which are for various fitness levels. Down to the Mackenzies Falls, there is a couple of different lookouts from up the top but for those whom are relatively fix, can walk down stairs to the bottom to see the falls from the lower level. Good car parking but can get busy at times too.
"MacKenzie Falls is a breathtaking 40-meter waterfall in Grampians National Park, flowing year-round. Enjoy scenic views from Bluff Lookout or tackle the steep 260-step climb to the base for an up-close experience. A must-visit attraction in Victoria, Australia."
A must see and very impressive! But be warned, so many stairs. Many many stairs. Make sure you're prepared for all the stairs... Very touristy so it can get crowded on weekends, try visit off peak if you can to make the most of it. Absolutely huge waterfall and plenty of walks around if you don't want the experience to stop! Really loved it and is a must see of the Grampians region. This place is full of surprises, can't believe Victoria has something like this!
I didn’t expect the sound to reach me before the view did. Low, steady, like breath through a canyon. Mackenzie Falls doesn’t just fall; it insists. And somehow, that insistence quieted everything else. From the Bluff lookout, the whole scene opens up. Wheelchair-accessible, it’s a place that doesn’t ask you to prove anything. You arrive, and the land receives you. There’s a bench tucked off to the side. Not marked, not famous. I watched a youngster sit there, swinging her legs, watching the water like it was telling a story only she could hear. That felt important. The mist creates its own world of ferns, moss, even the air feels different. I touched the sandstone and thought about time. Not in years, but in textures. If you go, bring something small. A thermos. A poem. Mackenzie Falls doesn’t just offer a view—it offers a conversation.
Beautiful waterfall! Done the walk to the bottom many times throughout the years and will continue to do so. The sight of it never ceases to amaze me. It’s 260 steps to walk down to the bottom, certainly worth the walk. The first part of the way consists of flat parts and stretched out wide steps whereas the last part downwards is short steep steps/staircases. The way down is easy, the way up might require a couple breaks. On the bottom you can enjoy the waterfall in its entire beauty. After it has rained it is especially huge, you might get wet just by standing nearby! There is an additional walk all you can do from the bottom of Mackenzie falls to fish falls to the right. Also a nice little walk to do ☺️ There’s signs everywhere to tell people not to swim in front of the waterfall because of the danger, however every time we visit there is still people swimming regardless. At the top near the carpark are good toilets. There is also an additional 2x lookouts at the top which look downwards to the waterfall; good for anyone unable to walk all the way down. And as per the famous sticker from my home country that has also made its way to the Mackenzie falls: Nett hier. Aber waren sie schon mal in Baden-Württemberg?
The Falls are amazing, it was a good walk down the stairs, but you realise you have to walk back up them. When I got to the falls I realised it was going to be worthwhile. I went further downstream to Fish Falls, a nice walk along the water and through the bushland. I would recommend to anyone who is comfortable with rougher ground walking. Stopped on the walk up a few times, bit was a great day
A medium level walk. Path is fully paved all the way with steep steps descending around 200 metres to the bottom. Broken Falls is just a short, easy stroll from the beginning of the walking path and is worth the visit whilst there.
Second time visiting Mackenzie falls, this time I did the lookout walk with my son and 80 year old grandma in law! She was able to walk to lookout and back no problems at all. Lots of Aussie native plants. Toilets at the start!

A beautiful, restful canopy of trees with well cut lawns and plenty of seats and picnic tables. Rubbish bins are outside the gardens on the footpath. We searched inside but took our rubbish out and found one. Really lovely, paths and hills for the children to wear themselves out. Perfect.
Lovely gardens and a lot of work have been done on the bridge and garden beds. The fountain has scaffolding around it, but it will be restored to original soon. Visited in winter so not a lot of flowers. The sensory garden behind the curators cottage was very special.
Old botanical garden, very large trees as the gardens were established in 1880's these were the 4th botanical gardens in Victoria. Most trees are well labelled, and plenty of history boards.
Beautiful garden always a good place to relax or walk! Very well maintained!!!! And there were new features recently added
Beautiful small garden littel play ground for kids nice place to walk the dog let the kids ride there bicks .
After Hamilton swap meet..bought some local takeaway Chinese food..took it to the gardens. Beautiful seating spot just near the rotunda..chilled variety of birds..decided after we ate that we walked around the gardens and checked out all the trees by name. Cottage, botanical conservatory, aviary, animal enclosure (nothing in there atm) bridge over pond. A little bit of work seems to be going on..which is always good for progress. History of the park was interesting, they had monkeys at one stage...a must visit.
Impressive. The fellow who designed these gardens was also the conservator of the Melbourne botanical gardens. His influence is evident in the flowing lawns and beautiful specimen trees. Gorgeous place to wander or sit for a while. There were a few people having picnic lunch when I was there. Love that the bridge has been rebuilt like the 1920's one. The bandstand has it's history recorded and it's worth walking down the North West for the historical elements including an oak planted in 1880.
We managed to catch a terrific afternoon with Trax Big Band playing in the rotunda. What a lovely way to spend a Sunday afternoon. The band woke up the nearby, and substantial, flock of fruit bats who happily skwarked and jostled in the sky above the rotunda. Couldn't have scripted it better! Delightful!

Wannon Falls is a stunning natural attraction just outside Hamilton and well worth the visit. The viewing platform gives you a spectacular outlook over the falls and gorge, and definitely even more impressive after a decent rainfall when the water is really flowing. The surrounding reserve is beautifully maintained with picnic areas, BBQ facilities, and plenty of space to relax and enjoy the outdoors. It’s a great spot to bring family or friends, and the walking trails give you different perspectives of the falls and the volcanic landscape. Convenient parking and clear signage make it easy to access. Beautiful!!
An easy walk to the viewing platform from the car park. Picnic areas and shelter to relax in a lovely bush setting. The fall was flowing really well too. There's also toilets.
Lovely falls. Very accessible 2 minute walk to viewing platform. Picnic tables, bins and toilets.
Stunning rocks formations. We saw it with just a small amount of flow of water but still amazing as it dropped into a deep pool below the cliff. Upstream are tickles to explore. Well worth a visit!
The falls are fantastic. The picnic area is well maintained. As are the toilets. Well worth the stop.
Nice falls, can only be viewed from the viewing platform, no access to the bottom as steep cliff walls surround the canyon, a nice set of little rapids up above the falls about a hundred metres, you can also camp here and there are tiolets, long drops.
Excellent park and scenery. You can't get very close to the falls, but the viewing platform is a good overall vantage point.
There wsd a good amount of water flowing over the fall. Such a nice place to visit

Awesome place. Unfortunately the steps down to the waterfall base pond were closed off, but the headwater pools are accessible from the top, so I got a lovely swim.
It's worth the detour. A lovely peaceful place. Clean drop toilets too and a picnic spot. It looked like there were lots of walking trails but we just went to the lookout.
Beautiful river to swim in; away from the falls. Spectacular waterfall. Drive safely as the road into Nigretta Falls has many animals.
Nigretta falls, beautiful falls steep steps going down, but they are currently building a new viewing platform and new stairs, worth a visit
Nicely updated viewing deck with a long staircase for close up views of the falls. Lots of parking and beautiful views and scenery! amazing!
What a beauty! Huge waterfall with grest viewing deck and steps to take you down to the bottom of the falls. Stairs seemed newish and made walking up and back easy, with several platforms to stop to take photos too. Beautiful surrounds and easy parking near the look out.
Hats off to the council for a nice set of staircase all the to access the falls. Amazing view
Absolutely stunning today!! The Falls were flowing beautifully. There is access to the bottom via 144 wooden stairs each way, very well constructed with hand rails the full length. There is an undercover BBQ area, and toilets as well.

A brilliant display of the Ansett era. From humble beginning to one of Australia's big airlines. Huge variety to look at and read and learn. Is well worth $10 entry. Friendly staff and easy parking access all around.
A really nice display and definitely worth the visit. The man at the desk was so friendly and informative and even gave me a tour of the place explaining all the displays and local history. Such a pleasure to meet you. Thank you so much!
It has been on my to do list for years, especially being an ex employee. So glad I made the effort to go. Excellent displays, great history and very nice volunteers. If you are in this neck of the woods I highly recommend a visit.
We spent a few hours viewing all the exhibits. What a story of this icon of a company and of course it's tragic end. Brought back plenty of memories. It is worth a look at just how this business was run and then over ran. It is a good example of how an icon was built.
Easily spent 90 minutes looking around the museum that tells the story about Sir Reginald Ansett, from selling passengers oranges instead of bus tickets to work around a law to running an international airline. Love seeing the personal messages written on the staff lounge walls and thankfully saved when they closed down.
Good collection that tells the story of this once proud Australian Airline. It's definitely worth a visit if in the area. Staff are welcoming and happy to have a chat about the history. If driving from Melbourne, best currently to go up the Western Hwy via Ararat and Willaura (extra 15 mins) as the Hamilton Hwy via Lismore has a lot of roadworks and is in a state of disrepair at the moment.
The Sir Reginald Ansett Transport Museum is an absolute gem for anyone interested in Australian transport and aviation history. What strikes you first is the unassuming nature of the building—it's housed in the company's original aircraft hangar, relocated to the site. This historical setting adds a layer of authenticity, but from the outside, it gives little away about the treasure trove within. The experience is greatly enhanced by the helpful and enthusiastic staff, often dedicated volunteers, who are eager to share detailed knowledge and personal anecdotes, offering impromptu tours that bring the displays to life. Their passion makes the visit truly engaging and personal. Inside, the museum expertly chronicles Ansett's journey from a one-man road service to an international airline. A key highlight is the comprehensive display covering the evolution of flight attendant uniforms over the years. This vibrant collection acts as a fascinating time capsule, showcasing Australian fashion trends alongside the airline's developing brand identity. At the heart of the exhibit is the Studebaker, a restored car identical to the one Sir Reginald Ansett drove on his very first passenger service route. This vehicle is the tangible start of an empire and beautifully illustrates the humble beginnings of what would become a vast transport network. Other large exhibits include a Fokker Universal aircraft replica, similar to the one used on Ansett's first flight.
For an ex Ansett employee it was a trip down memory lane and a great insight into Australia's aviation history

Great place to stop and breathe or for afternoon tea. Lots of water birds. Nice walking/bike tracks.
Beautiful spot. Nicely maintained with perfect parklands surrounding the lake. We found a terrific kids playground which was modern with a nice variety of equipment for the kids. Great family outing location generally. Recommended...
A very pretty lake that provides a nice natural spot for contemplation or rest to break the day.
Caught up with a beautiful chilly at lake hamilton. He ran straight up to me for a big huge.
A beautiful place providing a good safe haven for water birds it's a big comparison and their numbers here where they are safe from other places where duck shooting is available.
The walk around the lake goes for about 4.3km. There is a great children's playground about 1/4 of the way around. In fact there are two other ones, too. There are some areas that look OK when someone has gone to the trouble of being a bit creative. It's OK for a walk to get those legs moving but you probably wouldn't go there for it's beauty. My wife gives it a higher rating than I do. She says that I am being too critical. Just goes to show that we're all different.
Nice place to stop for lunch.
People Not Cleaning up after there pets. Not good Exspecally when you take your pets down for a walk. Toilets in very need of Clean up and paint job Disgusting. Council needs be ashamed...

Came to Hamilton for the Robert Martiensen exhibit and it was glorious! Venue is pleasant, staff are lovely and hopefully you'll get to see the amazing artwork for yourself somewhere in Victoria or South Australia.
I'm glad that I made the trek to this exhibition, they had a great mixture of borrowed works and some of their own. The staff were very helpful and because I came closer to closing time offered me the opportunity to come back the next day (using my same ticket). Cheers
It will be interesting to see where they'll put the new gallery. It's so central where it is now, I don't know why they want to move it. One place I thought that has a bit of historical significance is the old Argyle Arms on Gray Street. It's been closed for so long and would make an incredible art space at an area of Gray Street that is relatively dull and lifeless. Why no one is not using this building is beyond me. It's like going to Coleraine, so many empty, lifeless old shops just sitting there. The Argyle all done up would be spectacular. A lot of hard work but just think of what it would do for the town. I mean, you could keep the original gallery where it is and have a second art space there with different styles of art shown in both. How incredible would that be!
A great country gallery with an interesting mix of artworks. We travelled over 1,000km round trip to view their special exhibition of Renaissance Female art and feel it was worth the effort. An opportunity to see country we hadn't seen for years and artworks you rarely, if ever, see on display.
One of the best galleries I've ever been to. Fantastic mix of exhibits and artists. Absolutely lovely environment. Really high quality for the size of the town its attached to!
The gallery is very unique and a great addition to the town of Hamilton. I really enjoyed the inclusion of civic spaces in the gallery to include more local participatory events and casual meeting spaces.
My mother and I went to the "Lost Soldier's" exhibition in July. It was so incredibly enlightening. The gallery had set it up so as to share the journey of these heroic men with their readers. I can't wait for the next exhibition.
A great regional gallery, we enjoyed the current Chromatica very much, definitely worth a visit.

A nicely put together private collection of motor cars, bikes and petronalia. There isn’t anyone at the building but a phone number is on the door and the man arrived in just a few minutes. They prefer cash only and don’t have eftpos but direct transfer details are also given as an option.
Amazing collection of vehicles. The owner, has lovingly collected (and restored many) cars, buses, even an ancient fire engine. There are also many other collections like jugs, Biggles books number plates historical memorabilia. Really interesting to hear more about the vehicles from Mr Campe. Thank you for an interesting and informative visit.
Love this place. Just an awesome collection of many different things from a by gone era. It is jam packed with lots of stuff. It is worth a visit.
Definitely a hidden gems that been taking good care of. The collection includes over 100 cars, featuring a wide variety of types from different eras. It’s fascinating to see how cars have evolved over time, both in design and engineering. It also blend a bit of everything in the collection. The museum is beautifully curated and definitely worth a visit. If the doors aren’t open when you arrive, there’s a phone number posted that you can call for access during operating hours. Located in the charming town of Hamilton, it’s well worth the trip—make sure to take some time to explore the town while you’re there!
There was a number on the door to ring. We rang and they arrived in 10 mins to let us in. We were the only 2 for about an hour then 2 other couples came. They stay about half an hour and we all left about the same time. We went on the king's birthday weekend.
The outside appearance is underwhelming, but the inside is packed with so much to look at. Glen Campe's collection includes cameras, phones, electric jugs and more, along with his true passion, cars and buses. If you see a sign to call, do it, and someone will come along to open up for you.
If you love old cars this museum was amazing. Leo was very friendly and helpful. The museum is well laid out and you can walk between the cars and walk through the bus which had been converted into a motor home many years ago. There is a collection of ceramic electric jugs which has to be seen to be believed. Everything was so clean and the shed was very modern and easy to move about in. We were assured that if you rang someone would come. We didn’t need to do this as a couple had rung the number before we arrived.
An amazing place. I have never seen such a large collection of cars, bikes, bric a brac and antiques gathered in one place. All the vehicles were in mint condition. Loved it here and would visit again if ever in Hamilton.

This was very good food awesome beef schnity and this was a regular they have a monster as well
The staff were very friendly but waited for nearly 40 minutes for our parms, that could be due to being busy & understaffed. The parm was juicy & the salad was great. The only downfall is the noise from kids crying as the wooden floors echo.
Meal was not great, ordered garlic prawns that was just a massive pool of cream with some rice and prawns and could barely taste the garlic. Other meal was carbonara that tasted like water and pasta. Can I also add not good with a higher price for meal. Feeling ill.
Enjoying a lunch here and pleasantly surprised. Bistro light filled and welcoming. My husband had Lambs fry and bacon, nicely presented on fluffy mash with a rich gravy $14.50. My garlic prawns were fat and plentiful with the rice cooked to perfection $14.50. I had a Wynn's Resling $8.50. Hubby had a Schooner of Great Northern $7.00. Service was pleasant and timely. Can highly recommend and we will be return diners.
The staff are very friendly and welcoming as soon as you open the door. They were able to answer all our questions and dietary needs. The chef even came out after our meal and asked for feedback. The food is absolutely delicious. The chicken is cooked perfect and moist. The home made apple crumble is to die for. Everything is made to order and literally home made by the chef. Absolutely loved our dinner and would visit again next time we are in town!!!
It was pasta and pizza night.$20 for either, with a good section to choose from. The guy taking orders couldn't tell us what size to expect...we asked in case we needed to order two. Wasn't helpful. , Ordered Carbonara fettuccine, thought it would be a safe bet. It was a huge serve! It was fairly heavy on the garlic, a tad watery. But wasn't too bad..... Sadly, the Salt and pepper squid was so salty it was almost inedible. The tiny dish of aoli made it tolerable. Price $25 approx. My young grandsons shared the pizza, it probably was 12 inch size?? We think the egg was under/not cooked properly, as my grandson had a severe allergic reaction, and we had to leave abruptly and rush home for him to be medicated. So, our first visit was not really all that great I am sad to say.
I’m not sure how the food is, as I’ve been here for an hour and a half and nothing yet. Might get back with an update. Here is a pic of the table where the food should be.
The bar staff were great, and gave us a positive initial impression. When the entree arrived, it was good. Unfortunately the main course was almost inedible. Perhaps beef schnitzel won't be as tender as the chicken version, but this was like leather.

We visited on a Sunday morning. Judy was a wealth of local knowledge and advised us to visit two local camping spots which were not on our original itinerary. We were never rushed by Judy as she produced maps and went through directions with us to help us get to the camping places. We were made feel extremely welcome by Judy for our visit to Hamilton. Five Stars to Judy and the Grampians-Hamilton Visitor Centre.
Great place to get the latest in events and places to visit when in the South West of Vic . Pick up free travel guides if travelling through!

Very friendly and helpfull, all the people in Hamilton have been friendly!!!
Lovely place to be with all informations you needs. Very warm welcome staffs with local products, even provided free antigen kits for travellers. Kids enjoying their stop here with their drawing sheets and blocks.
Very helpful staff and lots of brochures on surrounding areas, as well as further afield. Many products for sale as well. Parking is a little hard to find, especially if you are towing a caravan. The toilets are inside, and they are very clean and quite spacious.

It's great belonging to the Hamilton Film Group. The films are always thoughtfully selected, and the seating is always comfortable. The box office staff are always welcoming and nice.
I absolutely love going here I have spent a lot of happy memories here it's so nice & relaxing going here watching movies the staff is absolutely really nice & helpful
Of all the cinemas I have been to recently, this one has some of the most reasonable prices. It’s essentially of the same quality, with the same facilities as any other cinema in a big city but cheaper. Hard to complain about that. Right in the middle of town too, so you can walk from dinner.
Family and locally run venue. Super friendly staff and very clean! They will often only have one or two movies at a time. But the ticket prices are reasonable so everyone is so happy to wait 😁
Very intimate cinema. Hamilton must retain this cinema. It is vital for the town. We lost our large two storey cinema years ago. Sad that nobody had the foresight to retain our regent theatre. It was magical. We have lost too much of our heritage in this city. It makes me weep.
When this cinema showed Gotti (2018), I knew I had to see it with my own eyes. I’ve gotten tired of Scorsese making the same mob movie every 5 years, and I needed something different, something that would change Cinema as we know it. While I was watching the film, I felt like I was in a trance. The colours on the screen reflecting off of my eyes creating a feeling of pure joy and happiness. When Gotti finished and the lights came back on, I had tears in my eyes. I felt something I have never felt before. I’ve been watching films for 20 years. I consider myself a film buff as I have seen over 20,000 films, and not a single one compares to Gotti. I scoff at the idea of anyone even attempting to recreate what was the peak of Film.
staff were friendly and the cinema was very clean! definitely would recommend for a fun time out!
The restaurant next door is very noisy and the noise from their patrons often interfere with enjoyment of the film

Beautiful area. Lovely market on last Saturday of the month
Fabulous venue for monthly market. Great lake to walk around and see wildlife. Kids section filled with sculptures and fun things is awesome. Great options for venue hire, and craft classes run regularly.
Very warm day. Attended a funeral service there. Nice spot.
Great community venue. Farmers market is good with lots of local produce. Good space for functions or events with lots of room indoors and outdoors. There is pottery classes and art classes which are Really well run. The surrounding gardens are well maintained with a focus on learning. There is an indigenous food garden and vegie gardens and a garden play space. Not to mention the nature reserve complete with endangered Eastern Barred Bandicoots! You can even watch the Bandicoots live at bandicam.com.au
After hiring the room for an 18th birthday was rang a few minutes after leaving and was told we don't hire for 18th there mite be under-age drinking kept my money for 3 days to get the interest so be aware you obviously can't have under 18 at an event in this venue
We held our Mother's funeral here last week, such a beautiful, peaceful location. They offered a "tea and coffee" service where they will set up food, drinks etc. clean up and do the dishes. Fabulous service, very good value. Thank you to the two Women who did this for us and made our day run smoothly.
Great craft, Devonshire teas, and fresh produce every month on a Saturday morning between 9 and midday.
What great place, brilliant facilities and grounds. We held a family reunion there and it was the perfect place to hold it. Staff were fantastic and nothing was too hard for them. Highly recommended

A nice affordable stop during my trip to Hamilton. Can recommend the pork Belly.
Visited this TAB on a Saturday. Ordered food and paid. Then the waiter approached us and said the food which we ordered has finished. Then we ordered steak for both. Food was not taste good. However the place has plenty of room and good ambience.
Disappointing Experience with Steak Order A few days ago, I was craving steak and called this place to ask if I could order over the phone and pay when I picked it up. The person said no—you have to come in, which is fair enough. When I arrived, I asked if I could have peri peri seasoning on the fries, and was told no, they’re already prepared. That’s fine. I asked if I could have the mushroom sauce on the side, and was told yes. After paying around $43, I waited about 15–20 minutes to pick up my meal. The staff brought the steak on a plate with the takeaway container on the side, stating they couldn’t put the meal in the container. This was confusing and inconvenient. At home, the mushroom sauce tasted awful — old and disgusting. Overall, the meal was a waste of money, and I didn’t enjoy it at all. Unfortunately, I won’t be returning.
The only remaing pub on Grey St, the grand looks vastly different than I remember. The meals are a few notches above the usual pub grub standard, not gastro pub level put pretty damn decent. The steak was very nice and the fish and chips looked great.
I recently travelled down to Hamilton for work. I went to this establishment for dinner as it looked clean and presentable. However, I must say I was disgusted with what I witnessed. I waited at the bar of the TAB for a drink for over 10mins and was not served. I looked for staff and found a male with facial piecings smoking out the front of the venue with a tall female. After a time they came in and he was very rude and blunt. I also overheard how he spoke to another staff member and it was so downgrading. I really hope he is not a member of management. I will not be returning to this place again
I fear the GC is going the route of the Botanical. Reserved a table for two which was placed immediately behind a very large group of some 20 people who thought it ok to remove one of the chairs and have their young child fondle all the cutlery on the table as we observed from the table we had to move to (dodged a bit of a bullet there!) The unruly children, I will say no more. At the outset I want to say we used to recommend GC as their steaks were fabulous and had the best grilled salmon I’ve ever had there but no longer? Ordered nachos - $18 for a plate of corn chips with a bit of cheese scattered here and there and some on the top grilled, a slip of salsa and guacamole and sour cream on the side - so dry and just eating corn chips, left over half of it. Partner had the southern chicken burger which he said was ok - but - the chicken was a small piece maybe three times the size of a chicken tender and was very dry. With a handful of chips, $23!! You pay extra for other sides. Long wait for meals - but - three large groups wouldn’t have helped, didn’t see the normal chef there, she’s very, very good. Not easy to leave a negative review like this for a Hamilton staple but our latest experience was nothing like previous ones.
