Kids enjoyed train and tractor ride but disappointed as there is no horse carriage because the horses are retired. We really love and enjoy in timbertown- animals, historic heritage. We enjoyed how the days were back then. Thank you for taking back to historical times. We highly recommend it. Of course customer service is really good at front desk and also the staff are friendly.
Fantastic place for the family to visit. The steam train was a highlight for my youngest kid and the talking cockatoo was loves by all. The place is really cool, showing how the settlers lived and the various stores and buildings they had back then. Lots of animals to see and interact with.
This was a terribly underwhelming experience. It started with seniors don't get any discounts upon entry (so 4x adult admission was over $130) the information from the receptionist (with the blue hair); when upon paying she informed the group that there was only a train ride and we couldn't walk around the "town" .. this information was delivered rudely and abruptly and we would have left at that stage, had this site not come up in the top 10 things to do in Port Macquarie .... The train ride was 'fun' - there was a fallen log on the track that wasn't there the previous ride, so that was entertaining. You can walk around the town, which is set up well with stories and memorabilia. There are some animals (no bullocks were to be found anywhere) - piglets, emus, ostrich, horses, donkeys, lamas and an amazing parrot that knows a few words. There is a semi working saw mill. Maybe worth $25 admission, but no more than that. Very disappointed.
Our experience at Timbertown was honestly shocking. The whole park is in a terrible state — barely any maintenance has been done in years. Most of the buildings are closed off, and the few you can still enter are surrounded by overgrown bushes and weeds. The cinema was especially bad — rotting wood, broken glass, and overall unsafe conditions that make you question how it’s even open to the public. The livestock were also in very poor condition. The horses in particular looked mistreated and were kept in filthy, disgusting living spaces. It’s honestly heartbreaking to see animals living like that. The wattlers cottage is In a disgusting state with animal poop on both beds. The steam train felt unsafe too — the tracks look neglected and poorly maintained, making the ride feel more dangerous than fun. On top of that, the front desk service was unacceptable. We were charged for 3 adults instead of 2 adults and 1 child (our 15-year-old), even though the child price should have applied. When we politely asked for the $10 difference back, the lady at the counter was rude and dismissive, simply saying “oh well, too bad.” Overall, Timbertown feels completely abandoned — unsafe, unclean, and disheartening to visit. It’s a shame, because it used to be a great place. I wouldn’t recommend anyone visit until serious maintenance, safety, and animal welfare issues are addressed.
Not the best day, due to raining earlier that morning. Fantastic stuff, enjoyed the tractor and train ride. You can walk around the place and look at the houses and checkout some animals. Its got twin paddle boat rides, you can even pan for your own gold. Teens loved it, great fun for the family to step back in time...thanks timbertown team 🤩
This is a tragic display of when something that was interesting, educational and enjoyable is allowed to fall into disrepair and decay by new owners. The steam train ride was the highlight, and the driver knowledgeable and personable. The rest was a sad ghost of what would once have been a bustling popular and fun tourist destination.
Horrible. SAVE YOUR MONEY! We spent 130$ just for everything to be run down and blocked off. You can’t go into majority of the buildings. One house we could go into but it was a small hallway and we couldn’t go in the rooms. It would have been nice if we could go in becuase if it was clean it would have been lovely HOWEVER the bedroom had snake poo and the house was extremely dirty. Entire of timber town was not looked after and was un hygienic. Cleanest place was the toilets. Animals are extremely poorly looked after. Tiny spaces for them and small amounts of water. Horses have injured legs and shake every step. The person running the train said infront of children “keep your hands in if you don’t want to loose fingers”. The seat I sat on was not screwed on properly. We were all getting thrown around. It’s a real safety concern. The fudge also was not great. But if you like soft sweets that don’t taste too sugary it’s a good thing for you. They had nice old cars from I belive it was 1920 1930 and 1950. Not entirely sure with the dates but it was anround then. Overall it’s super run down and not worth it. We understand that it’s different than 40-50 years ago but it’s a huge disappointment for the amount of money it’s insane. No hate to the workers. But serious adjustments need to happen or they will go out of business. Moral of the story. READ THE REVIEWS BEFORE YOU GO SOMEWHERE.
My wife and I are very happy that we visited this wonderful place. This historical heritage is in very good condition, it is nice to touch a piece of antiquity. Very good service and a very wonderful driver of a small steam locomotive! This interesting place should be visited by every tourist and resident of Australia, out of 5 points - I give 100🤗

What a great day we had at Bago Maze and Wine. The maze is quite large and challenging. After the maze head in for a tasting paddle and cheese with crackers. Great tasting wine and very reasonable prices. Cheese platter is awesome with 6 different types and 3 condiments. Highly recommended. Plenty of space for the kids to have some fun.
We had the best afternoon @Bago Maze and Winery our group had the Tractor Shed and we ordered the beautiful Cheese Platters with a guided wine tasting. After we attempted the Maze it was fun we couldn’t stop laughing at our lack of navigation skills. A perfect place to visit for both adults and children. If you’re visiting Port Macquarie and Wauchope.
My wife and I had the most wonderful time at the Bago winery. We stayed with the maze which is one of the best we’ve attempted. Then it was on to wine tasting and a charcuterie board of delicious local produce under the guidance of Ann who was not only very knowledgeable but also a laugh a minute. She was such fun ensured we had the most delightful afternoon. Finishing with an excellent coffee we purchased an assortment of Bago’s unique and delicious wines and some locally produced relishes. We also had the opportunity to meet Sam and assist him with filtering some of the establishment s exceptionally good Port. Thank you Bago and thank you Ann. You gave us a day to remember and we will be back!
A fun experience! Book online to save money. We have small children and they all had fun, as did groups of adults only. Took us an hour, but would have been longer without my husband guiding us! The grandparents enjoyed a cheese tasting.
A visit to Bago Maze and Wine is a delightful way to spend an afternoon. The friendly staff create a welcoming atmosphere from the moment you arrive. A cheese plate paired with a glass of wine and a cold beer enhances the experience, while the kids get lost in the Maze. Highly recommend a visit!
We went here with my husband his sister and elderly mother. Although my mother in law could not do the maze, she happily sat on the verandah with her paddle of wines and watched the rest of us from afar. We had so much fun trying to navigate our way out of the maze. I think we were in there for about 40 minutes and had tracked almost 2km! One of us gave up and took the emergency exit out and the other two persevered. There were a couple of families with young kids in the maze and they were having fun. It is a great activity to do. When we got out, we joined mum with our own wine tasting paddles and we shared a beautiful cheese platter. There is also a chocolate shop on site where you can buy some yummy home made treats. I tried the giant bullets which were amazing. It was about a 30 minute drive from Port Macquarie. After coming off the main road there is a dirt road that you have to travel along. It is well graded though so it was fine. We went mid week in May so it was not busy. A great place and the wines were lovely and reasonably priced. There is also some beautiful bird life at the winery. I would definitely recommend a visit here.
Bago Maze and Winery is truly a hidden gem! From the moment you arrive, you’re greeted by breathtaking views of the vineyard and the serene natural surroundings. The winery is equally impressive, offering a selection of locally crafted wines that are a joy to taste. Bago is a fantastic destination for families, couples, and groups of friends. It’s a perfect blend of fun, relaxation, and indulgence. Highly recommended for anyone visiting the Port Macquarie area!
Bago Maze, located in the beautiful Bago Vineyards near Mudgee, New South Wales, is a standout attraction for those seeking a blend of outdoor fun and scenic relaxation. The maze is thoughtfully designed with a combination of twists, turns, and challenges that engage visitors of all ages. It's an excellent way to spend time outdoors, offering a sense of adventure and accomplishment as you navigate its intricate paths. The experience is enhanced by the surrounding vineyard, where you can enjoy stunning views and the tranquility of the countryside. Bago Maze is perfect for family outings, friendly competitions, or even a relaxing day out with a scenic backdrop. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable, adding to the overall positive experience. Whether you're an avid maze enthusiast or just looking for a pleasant way to spend the day, Bago Maze delivers both fun and relaxation in a picturesque setting.

Be a part of this Tree's story. This massive tree has been loving on this earth for 200years, and still going strong. Easy to find with signs on every turn. Gravel road, drive slow as it's very narrow.
Such a beautiful old tree and the walk to it is an area of beautiful. Follow the signs to the right & the drive out is pretty easy.
Its a very impressive tree. Well signposted to get there. The road is narrow and rough so worth driving with care but the path is easy to walk on and its a nice short loop around. I only encountered one other person on the road, otherwise it was very quiet and peaceful
Old Bottlebutt is nice little walk. Magnificent tree of substantial size. Nice leisurely walk, not for anyone that has issues with footing ect. Needs more signage along the walk and a bit more up keep. However it's all untouched nature except for walk ways. The Old Bottlebutt, towers over the canopy and photos don't do it justice or show its magnicance. There are toilets and tables at the rest area at the beginning of the track. The road to Old Bottlebutt, is dirt, however very nice scenery.
A good outing if you combine it with a visit to Wauchope. The tree is amazing! The road in is a dirt road and a little rough. Don’t try it with a lowered vehicle but normal suspension will be fine. The walking track is easy but the loop back is not well signed and tracks branch off which makes it easy to get lost. Study the track map and take a photo before you go.
The road in is a state forest dirt road with debris and some pot holes but firm enough. Well signed to get to tree and google maps has it perfect. Take a photo of loop as there are a few tracks you could take (not good signage) and end up deviating a bit. The track itself was beautiful through the bush but remember it is a bush single track path with debris roots and trees creating an uneven surface so not wide enough or suitable for wheelchairs etc. A couple of narrow path bridges also to traverse. The tree itself is magnificent and well worth visiting. Also check your dog and yourself afterwards our dog got 2 leeches. Carry salt just in case to get them to release. We weren't on lookout for them so they had quite a feast on her poor baby. There is a small carpark with large picnic tables and benches as well as 2 eco drop loos at start of walk
This is definitely worth your time to go see, parking is limited and it’s a short walk to Old Bottlebutt but one that is so beautiful, not wheelchair friendly unfortunately and those with limited mobility would struggle along the walking track ~ there is public amenities in the parking area.
Absolutely stunning sight! About a 200m walk to the tree but worth it.

Great menu options for all ages and dietary restrictions. I highly recommend the fettuccine bosciaola. Made to perfection ❤️ Thanks Paul ;) Plenty of tables both inside and outside. There’s a playground for the kids to let loose while you enjoy some down time. Quick and friendly service
This is a nice place to catch up for drinks though I wouldn’t eat here again. Tough peas, dry no flavour mash and over cooked dry sausages for the bangers and mash. I’d still come back because the location, drink options, staff and atmosphere is actually nice, it’s just the food is astoundingly bad. I hope they do improve because I’d love to come back for lunches
Just had the best pub meal dinner at Bago Tavern! I ordered the lemon pepper chicken, and it was absolutely delicious — perfectly seasoned, tender, and bursting with flavor. You can really tell the kitchen puts care into their food. The atmosphere was just as impressive — warm, welcoming, and truly family-friendly. It’s the kind of place where everyone from kids to grandparents can feel comfortable and enjoy themselves. If you’re looking for a relaxed spot with great food and a down-to-earth vibe, Bago Tavern is a must-visit. I’ll definitely be back!
Ate here every night guy for a week and think I tried everything on the menu (nearly) - best dishes bangers and mash and the beef lasagna
This place is set out so well. Everything is comfortable with easy access to food and beers. There's an extensive menu on offer with good pricing. Try the 600g rump. Excellent beer choice with craft and commercial beers available. Staff worked flat out and were very pleasant and helpful. They handled the motofest crowd very well. I'll definitely be going back next time I'm here. Outstanding.
Yesterday the four of us went to the tavern for Father’s Day lunch and found the service and lunch poor. I ordered fried rice with prawns that was on the menu only to be told there was no rice today , however other dishes came out with rice, I then changed my order to gnocchi with ragu sauce and the dish was full of fat and grizzle not to mention the sauce was off putting. We then ordered coffee and desert only to be told by the young lady I will not be serving coffee today the deserts of mud cake and carrot cake were stale, all in all I found the place a letdown with their service and food.
Great outdoor area with kids playground. Wish they did live music out the back!
We'd have loved if the burger had been vegan rather than veggie. Ended up with chips and salad/veggies. The non-vegetarian food looked great for meat-eaters. Staff were very helpful.

I took my kids to the park and it was excellent they enjoyed the play facilities but the bike pump track was their favourite toilets They were nice and clean bbq facility was excellent
Well maintained children's playground and park area with clean public loos and covered picnic area. And there's a tap to fill the dog bowl.
Very well thought out place. Well built
Large enclosed kids playground, open park land, under cover picnic tables and toilets. A good amount of car parking places along 3 sides of the park. Shell service station and shops near eastern entry.
Great little park, it's got it all for the young and old, play ground, a tared push bike learning and training ground with road signs for the first new bike's. Fantastic coffee shop for mums and dads or grandparent's over looking both to keep watch over the little cherubs. Highly recommend it.
Nice park near Wauchope town centre. Fenced in to keep younger children contained and a wide variety of equipment. Also has a bicycle road/path adjacent for kids to practise riding bikes, and grassy park for my running around. Some of the equipment is a little past it's best so a little TLC would make the park perfect.
This place is great. It's got everything you'd want from a park. Toilets. Playground equipment. Bike track. Picnic area. The bike track is ridiculously cute with all its road signs and we had a blast playing pretend. The only issue I have is the gates are a little old. They need a little TLC to make sure they close properly.
Great place to sit back and let the kids do wild inside the gated playground. Away from the play area there is a bike path to help the little riders learn all about the different road signs. Plenty of room for the family picnic as well as a clean public toilet block.

I have always loved Vana's work and am often blown away by her myriad of new pieces. Whether handmade beads, flowing silk scarves or incredible handmade art on canvas, her work is always so creatively and beautifully made. If you're lucky enough to attend one of her workshops, she is very generous in sharing her techniques, patient and a lot of fun to be around!

Lovely spot for a picnic but no dogs allowed 🙄 so we couldn't stay there!
Nice setting. Not accessible unless you can wheel over or walk on grass. Only four picnic places but lots of parking.
very clean ,quiet and peaceful. ilove it
A really lovely site with a great picnic area.
Little hidden gem in King Creek. Clean with public BBQs and toilets available. Great view over the dam with modern art work in the park area. Good for a picnic
Well maintained and clean picnic area and toilets. Great views over the dam.

I have stopped here twice and it was always nice. Chill spot to stroll and tidy benches to eat at. Noted my 1st visit (May 18) the bloke's toilet had been graffitied inside a lot but on the next time around (May 30th) it had been painted over.
Lovely reserve located on the Hastings River at Wauchope. Currently being renovated back to original condition due to recent flooding Still seating and greased area to relax, eat and drink. Toilets on site, boat ramp available and pontoon currently being replaced. Worth a visit for that simple "time-out" moment with a coffee and snacks!
We came here to have a BBQ dinner. The barbie was super slow at cooking took a very very long time. There were blokes on there jetski on the lake. Beautiful sunsets here. There was a homeless man hanging around towards twilight. There was also a syringe in the toilets on the floor. I had to make sure the little one didn't go near it. Made it feel a bit rough
Rocks Ferry Reserve, strange name but great park. Went to the park to do Parkrun. To really understand how great this park is you need to look at the topography. During the last major flood this whole park was washed away, because it sits on a corner of the Hastings River. Port Macquarie Hasting Council did an amazing job of rebuilding the corner, and making the park even better. Whilst at Parkrun I had a good look around. The park is especially beautiful at sunrise. If you are in Wauchope then drop down to the park with a coffee.
Serene atmosphere, brilliant spot for a scenic picnic, lots of parking
Nice place to go fishing ,walking or for a picnic plenty of space for kids to run around & play
Very well maintained and relaxing Riverside park in hidden away in the backstreets

So accommodating to food allergies and preferences, happy to change and adapt all the options to fit our vegan diet. Been here twice now, we sit outside in the sunshine with our food and coffee. We have left happy with full tummies both times 😊 Would recommend for sure.
So being somewhat of a local and not having been here before I was pleasantly surprised with this place. There's a comfortable area for parents to supervise the kids play area while still being quiet, they have all the necessities (coffee, food, a range of cool drinks) and while the food choices are not adventurous they are good sized portions and well prepared resulting in a good value for money trip that lasted 3 hours for us on this particular day.
It would be a wonderful place if there was air conditioning in the play area, the kids were sweaty and exhausted. Its was far too hot. Also no supervision in the play area to help kids open close gates and also to stop big kids entering small kids area and vice versa. .. When we visited the other week, the bouncy slide was out of order, deflated and left without any signs or tape to stop children going on it which is extremely dangerous if a child got inside there.
Overpriced food and small portion size. Coffee could have tasted better. Good play area for kids but need to adjust the air con as the warmer months arrive... good venue just overpriced
Great place for kids to play and plenty of quiet for parents to sit and chat with other people. Great place for a party on a rainy day. Plenty of parking and excellent hot chocolate. Lots of climbing and sliding and jumping. Tunnels and obstacles galore.
Awesome to see so many vegan options available. Yummy food and beautiful staff, and was able to sit outside away from children's play centre.
Had a great time, was able to take our own food and drinks, good coffee. $5 for unlimited play for my daughter, adults are free. Good place, will be back
Kids had a ball today with there cousin who lives locally, clown, face painting and balloons. We come up from wingham regularly, the cafe has been refurbished, coffees cakes burgers and of course chips and nuggets, top place, well worth a visit for anyone with kids,

I had a wonderful experience from the time I arrived. Steph took the time to talk to me about my skin and gave me advice on things I could do to improve. After my amazing facial experience, Steph made extra time to show me products that I had purchased and how to use them correctly. I look forward to using the DMK products. Thanks so much Steph.
Steph has been doing my eyebrows for a few years now and is very accomodating and very good at what she does, highly recommend!
Amazing service, I have never been so educated on my skin and how to keep it healthy and how my skin reflects my gut. I’m so happy and I’m so privileged to have such incredible support as I go through my skin journey. Thanks Steph x
I can't recommend Steph and her team enough! I have been a loyal customer of Aromatics for over 20 years now and it has always been an excellent experience. Steph's knowledge is vast and I have complete trust in her guidance, skill and recommendations for my skin. I was away living overseas for some time and am back in Australia since covid kicked off, it has been so good to come back to Aromatics again! Thank you Steph for taking such good care of me and my skin! :) x
Wow....there are not enough superlatives to give Steph and her team at Aromatics. These guys really know their stuff!! I was unsure of what my poor, tired skin needed but my therapist Em provided me the most heavenly facial I have ever had. Her knowledge and professionalism are second to none and the DMK products used are fantastic. If you have any skin concerns or simply want to bliss out for a relaxing and rejuvenating hour I cannot recommend Aromatics enough. Thank you once again.
Wow! What an amazing experience I had, from the moment I walked in, felt so relaxed. I had my eyebrows waxed and tinted and I am super happy with the results. I now have sexy eyebrows. Thanks Steph!
Aromatics with Steph is amazing! Such care and knowledge and attention to detail is the best !
Love these guys. They always do my eyebrows perfectly
