It's a lovely place to have a BBQ or picnic. There is electric BBQ on site and covered seating and tables. There are some very nice and established trees and shrubs here. There is also a wonderful rose garden here and around Melbourne Cup day the rises look so spectacular! There are toilets on site if you need to use the facilities. A good place to take the kids to fly a kite or throw a ball or frisbee.

A nice lake surrounded by hills. There is toilets, a BBQ area under shelter, tables, and a playground. A decent Boat ramp and short jetty...water has blue-green algae in it so not good for swimming. Great views of the lake from the top of the hills.
Great spot for a picnic, swim, quiet relaxing sit and watch the water. Great facilities and well maintained.
Beautiful volcanic lake. Great for fishing and watersports
Good place for a day trip with family. Nice fishing on boat & jet skiing.
You can fish, ski, swim, relax on the side or even cook up a feast and have a picnic. Great spot
Campground and facilities very well maintained. Extensive grassed area for camping. New boat ramp and dock very user friendly. Weather during our visit not so friendly, but that said, an enjoyable place.
Good facilities. Lake was closed due to Blue Green algae

Camperdown, a charming small town with a population of fewer than 4,000, boasts a rich history and an array of tourist attractions. Highlights include its iconic clock tower, picturesque lakes, and fascinating volcanic sites. A must-visit spot is Mt Leura, where you'll discover several hiking tracks leading to a summit offering breathtaking 360-degree views of the surrounding landscapes. Its natural beauty and unique features make Camperdown an excellent choice for a short visit.
Worth the visit, step steps but quite safe.
WOW, The view was worth the 100 steps. The view of Camperdown and the communities around were stunning and disappeared into the distance. The photos were taken while inside the clock tower and small writings of people who have visited in the past are seen on the walls. A book is located at the bottom of the tower for us to leave our mark on history.
One of the Sweetest and humble towns I've ever visited. Lovely people beautiful town. Must visit. Hidden gem
Beautiful and historic little town. We really enjoyed walking around.
It's a nice place to hangout. The clock tower is right next to the boulevard and there's enough benches around the area. Also the ambience during night time gives a retro vibe as the lamps come into play.
Fantastic view from top of tower. Volunteer present on top floor where mechanism is located to explain its history and details. Donation of $2.50 per person. Plenty of parking available around the clock tower.
It's a lovely place to spend time with family and take pictures and listen to the old style tower bell ringing every hour. A place that reminds you the old Australia. All amenities around including the old Post Shop, Banks, Court House, shops and all. Don't miss this place while you visit Camperdown.

The Courthouse stopped operations in the 1990's but continues to operate as a tourism centre, encompassing local art exhibitions, regional history and local makers showcasing their wears. This magnificent old building still has the infrastructure of the past Courthouse, with the judges bench, prisoner dockk and jury seating. It is now surrounded by original art and Australian focussed products. It's 100% volunteer run and not for profit. Visitors from across the globe love visiting this majestic old building and purchasing Aussie wares. The Ambassadors are locals who know their place of living and can direct all who visit to local attractions. The old town of Camperdown is like travelling back to yesteryear as the town has many heritage listed buildings. Pure country hospitality is guaranteed!!
The staff member is really friendly and provided information about the court house and where we can visit near here. The female public toilet here was the cleanest that I’ve been in AU so far. I couldn’t help to take a photo of it, cuz it smelled nice and the seat was clean too. ☺️
Prepare to convert a rapid Camperdown pit stop into an extended stay if you interface with this insightful team at the Courthouse visitors' centre. There is so much to learn from them about the town, and for those without vertigo, climb Australia's "only freestanding clock tower" in the company of John. He is a mine of information, and the views over the volcanic landscape are fabulous, even on a grey day.
Beautiful building and friendly service . Plenty of sovereigns and tourist information
Love the shopping goods. Moo spoons were fantastic. Great tourist information
Great town, lovely local items for sale in the courthouse. Run by amazing volunteers.
Lovely little shop, great service! I love the Moo Spoons!
We love the Moo spoons - bought a few for our house.

St. Mark's Abbey, a community of Anglican Benedictine monks and nuns, in Camperdown is one of the hidden gems of Victoria. This abbey sits atop the rim of Lake Bullen Meri, offers magnificent views of the lake and Mount Leura and Mount Sugarloaf. The community has a comfortable guest house too, and it's perfect for anyone who wants to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life. Just ring ahead to book a room.
It's a very tranquil setting, and you can clearly see why people want to stay to escape for a while. We were given a tour by an extremely friendly nun, who also told us a history of the monastery, with sparks of great humour. The gardens are lovely, and there are great views of the lake. Hopefully it remains for many years to come.
Just a heads up, to maybe good to make arrangements with the abbey before turning up. We drove up, rang the doorbell and looked into the camera as instructed and waited, and waited - and waited. Rang the bell again and repeat of waiting. Then walked around to print shop where there was another bell on the door so rang that too with same non response so then tried to call the number on the door but it just rang and rang out before finally going to voicemail. After forty minutes of this we just gave up and left. Not a soul to be seen. We were there in the suggested hours between 9.30 - 11.30am and on a weekday so no idea what happened. It was disappointing so passing this on to avoid anyone else experiencing this. It is in a beautiful location with spectacular views. Oh well.
Very warm and gracious hospitality. Beautiful prayer and surrounds.
I had a beautiful experience at St Mark's Abbey and I will definitely be back again! The hospitality I experienced during my stay was heavenly. Praise God for Sister Raphael and Dom, they're both saints!
Lovely Abbey. Great giftshop. Well worth visiting the community.
Peaceful, spiritually refreshing.

Wonderful, well maintained lung space on the borders of the sprawling University of Sydney campus. One of its exits take you onto the Broadway shopping centre. Lovely flowers and green spaces. Plenty of benches to sit and relax with a coffee and sandwich and watch the busy students go by or enjoy the dogs run around to their hearts content. Just one of those parks that make Sydney so livable.
Limited 2 hours free parking available. Swimming pool and pleasant green environment, perfect for a cup of coffee. Opposite it, you can see the world top no 1 ranking coffee shop, Toby's Estate.
Victoria Park is a beautiful green escape right next to Central Station. It has wide open lawns, shady trees, and a lovely pond with ducks and birds perfect for a short stroll or just relaxing in the middle of the city. The outdoor swimming pool is a great bonus in summer, and there are plenty of spots to sit with a coffee or a book. Easy to access, calm, and well-kept a hidden gem in busy Sydney.
Victoria Park is a peaceful green space in the heart of Sydney, located just across from the University of Sydney. It’s more than just a park — it’s a place rich in Aboriginal history and community spirit. Since the late 1960s, Aboriginal activists have gathered here to advocate for justice and equality, and in 2000 the southern part of the park became home to an Aboriginal Tent Embassy. This site was dedicated to peace, discussion, and the celebration of culture, and its legacy continues through annual ceremonies and gatherings. Today, Victoria Park remains a favourite place for students, families, and locals to relax under the large gum trees, enjoy a picnic, or take a walk around Lake Northam. The park’s open lawns and shady paths make it a perfect spot for reading, casual sports, or simply escaping the busy city life. On 26 January each year, the park also hosts Yabun Festival, an important event celebrating Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture, music, and survival. Blending natural beauty, historical significance, and community energy, Victoria Park stands as a reminder of Sydney’s deep Indigenous roots and ongoing connection to Country. It’s a place where history, reflection, and everyday life meet — calm, welcoming, and meaningful.
A nice park to send some time, it's got a pond. There are large variety of birds 🐦 here, there is a playground and free BBQ facilities and seating. This park also has a public swimming 🏊‍♂️ pool which is open even with this cold weather, 🥶 there is cafe/ restaurant in the old gardeners cottage. It’s a cross the road from broadway shopping centre. The pond had no fish, ells or turtles for a long time, from when they drained it for maintenance 🙄 the council claimed they housed the water animals and they would be returned when the maintenance was finished. I saw a female councillor supervising worker last year!!! Happy to say there are now ells in the pond!! Hopefully they return the turtles 🐢 🙏 soon. The only restrooms are in the public pool, the BBQ facilities and children's playground is only a few hundred metres away. I was playing with my nieces and they needed to use the restrooms 🚻 we spoke to pool staff, they were friendly and helpful and let my young nieces use the restrooms 🚻 thank God 😊 for that
A relaxing stop-by between the buzz of Broadway Shopping Centre and the vibrant University of Sydney. Its a great place to have a picnic, walk the dog or take a simple stroll. Its around a 3-5 min from the University, and around 5 minutes from nearby cafes and boutiques.
Amazing place to hang out with friends and family
Would highly recommend going here food was so good and didn't have to wait to long for are .

Lots of memories of the hospital - Women's and Babies and the main hospital.
It is such a shame that the museum is only open Wednesday and Thursday 10-2 as it is really interesting. Situated in the King George V Building on the 8th floor it is full of medical history of the hospital with some really weird mannequins. The best part is that it is free. I spent about an hour there reading the fascinating history. If you get the chance, do pop in.
