It is a Must visit place in Kochi. A unique and good experience along the side of the coast. The fisherman will do a lot of fishing on the sea shore. The mechanism is quite simple yet thoughtful. A few places give a demonstration about how it's done, we got a chance to see the entire mechanism because we had joined a bigger group. Lots of variety of fishes are available of various sizes. You can also purchase along the side and get it cooked in your stay if they allow.

If you are looking for a sunset backed pic of the Chinese fishing nets, try to reach before 6pm (check local timing for sunset). We unfortunately reached just after sunset but luckily still got some okay pics. There are many shops where you can check out fresh catch and ask for it to be prepared right in front of you. I am sure it will be pricey but should be okay for a one time experience. There is a sunset view point a little ahead of the Chinese fishing nets which you should visit. The ferry is awesome from Marine Drive (High Court Junction) which costs just 40 bucks. AC ferry which is very well maintained

We just made it in time for the Kathakali show here, and I’m so glad we didn’t miss it. The makeup starts at 4:30 PM, and they do it right on stage so the audience can see the whole transformation — honestly, that itself felt like part of the show. The theatre is calm and welcoming, with devotional music and even a nice fragrance around, which made the experience feel special. Before the main performance, they explained the grammar of Kathakali — the expressions, eye movements, and hand gestures — and it was absolutely fascinating. The actual play started at 6 PM, and I was blown away — the makeup, the live instruments, the narration-singing, everything came together beautifully. You can really feel the love for culture in every detail. They also have a small shop at the back with souvenirs like oils, magnets, and antiques. Overall, it’s one of those experiences that stays with you — I’d definitely watch it again.

Fantastic experience at the Kathakali Centre. The staff are caring and committed to preserving the deep artistic heritage of Kerala, showcasing the various traditional artisans with respect and love. You see a small glimpse of performances, guaranteed to inspire you to seek out the full day long performances in the future. We watched an hour long Kathakali show, and a short demonstation of Kalari as well, both were fascinating in their own ways. I wish the centre a lot of success!! After 6 month wait, finally we could make it last week. We witnessed the Kathakali performance (including makeup) and Kalaripayatu(martial arts). Excellent performance by the artists in both shows. Good seating arrangements, light and sound. Ease of contacting and booking, courteous hosting and punctuality. Please make it day wise schedule because we wanted to watch classical dance as well but it was on a different day.

Its a must watch experience!!!! If you go early you can get a good spot near the stage where the artist do an interactive performance! All their efforts are so worth every penny. Absolutely loved it💚

LuLu International Shopping Mall in Kochi (Edapally) is one of the best malls in India and truly offers an international shopping experience. It’s more than just a mall — it’s a mega-destination that sets the benchmark for retail, entertainment, and dining in Kerala. The food court is massive, with endless dining options ranging from quick bites to full meals. Everything is well-organized and delicious. The cinema experience is excellent, and the play areas make it a great spot for families to spend quality time. Parking is smooth and well-managed, and the staff are consistently helpful and polite. There is also direct access from Edapally Metro Station, making the mall extremely convenient. The metro practically passes through the mall, so you can enter directly without stepping outside. The overall ambiance is top-notch. However, the mall, especially the hypermarket and popular stores, gets very crowded on weekends and evenings. If possible, it’s best to visit on weekdays or earlier in the day to avoid heavy rush. A must-visit destination for shopping, entertainment, and food in Kochi.

Well, I’ve crossed oceans, dodged Indian customs, and found the Holy Grail of shopping but apparently, the real adventure is finding parking at Lulu Mall. This colossal temple of consumerism rises out of Kochi like a mirage with air conditioning. Inside, it’s less “Mystic India” and more “Midwestern USA,” just with better samosas. Now, here’s the cultural plot twist: outside these marble gates, most folks still dress with the dignified modesty of Hindu tradition: saris, kurtas, the whole beautiful ensemble. But step inside Lulu, and suddenly you’re in a Calvin Klein ad. Every storefront screams Western fashion, Levi’s, Zara, H&M as if the British left and sent their brands to finish the job. Still, as malls go, Lulu is impressive, just not exactly adventurous. You don’t need a map or a whip, just a credit card and stamina. Three stars for scale, cleanliness, and surviving the modern world’s greatest test of courage: weekend shopping.

It is well connected with metro and the mall is almost just beneath the metro station or in other words Metro Train passes through Lulu Mall as one even need not come out of the station. One can make entry into mall just after the electronic gate exit. A special separate passage is facilitated to reach the mall from metro station. Plenty of branded shops of all items including food court on 3rd Floor. Main high light is the Hypermarket where one can get all house hold items including raw meat to Ready to eat cooked food items right from Beef Briyani / Malabar Briyani / Hyderabadi Briyani to varieties of Dry and Gravy chicken / Mutton items. Non vegetarian recipes too available. It is a boon to Foodies. Take away facility available. Parking facilities available.

Small palace or building converted to museum of sorts. Displayes certain items used by the royals like swords, knives, palanquins, headgears, uniforms etc. Tickets prices only Rs 5 for adults. You dont need to spend a lot of time since there isnt much to see. Lots of historical writeups on the royal family are there probably downloaded from Google and placed for public to read. Temple at the ground floor open only occasionallly and allows only Hindus to enter. Small market outside sells good small useful items at a fair price.

Amazing artifacts preserved by one person Mr. George J. Thaliath. The place has a wonderful collection, mostly idols and sculptures, along with many other fascinating items. I visited on a Thursday around 12 to 1 PM, and it wasn’t crowded at all. Definitely worth a visit if you appreciate art, culture, and history. You can also check out the Folklore Museum, it’s a great experience!

The Indian Folklore Museum in Kochi, tucked within Kerala Folklore Theatre, is a three-storey treasure trove of 4,000+ tribal and folk artifacts. Carved wooden masks, Kathakali costumes, shadow puppets, and ancient musical instruments vividly animate Kerala's oral traditions and rituals. Housed in a stunning 19th-century teak-meranti palace with intricate rosewood ceilings—architecture alone justifies the visit. The only negative point is that it is crammed with too many artefacts making it hard to walk around when there are many people visiting the place.

This is a private museum, which is run by a family trust near to Thevara. This is 3 story building, where a lot of exhibits and artefacts are placed. Even though they are telling that there are 45,000 items inside the museum, most of them are same. You can see the same things multiple times in different floors. Mostly the items are of ideals from temples exhibited here. You can see a lot of things which you can’t see in this era at temples.. even though there are a lot of items, the way they have kept is not so professional way as most of the items are almost like dumped on the floors and on the shelves They charge ₹200 per person and additional hundred rupees, even if you take photos on mobile. This seems to be bit exorbitant price. There are some items for sale as well.

It was originally built by Portuguese Franciscan friars in the early 1500s. Later, when the Dutch took over Kochi in the 1600s, they converted the church to a Protestant place of worship. Eventually the British arrived and made it Anglican. Today, it belongs to the Church of South India. This church has seen so many chapters of history and faith, and Peter made it all come alive for us. One of the most interesting things we saw was the tomb of Vasco da Gama. He died in Kochi in 1524 and was buried here, but years later his son had his body moved to Lisbon. The original tombstone still remains, and standing beside it was surreal. My five and seven year old daughters were curious about why we had to take off our shoes before entering, since it’s not a temple. Peter explained that many churches in Kerala follow this tradition out of respect, and also to protect the beautiful Victorian tiles inside which were imported from the UK. That made perfect sense, and it taught my children something new about how local culture blends with spiritual practice. Inside the church I felt peaceful and reflective. I took a quiet moment to pray for my family and friends, and I left feeling calm and grateful. The atmosphere was simple and serene, and the building carried such a sense of history. Peter was outstanding. He made the experience personal, educational, and memorable. We are so thankful for his guidance. This was one of the highlights of our day in Fort Kochi and I highly recommend visiting the church—especially if you can go with someone like Peter.

A must visit place when you are in Fort kochi, this church has rich past & legacy. Besides being centuries old with lots of Latin memorabilia, this has historical connection to Portuguese legend Vasco da Gama. He was buried but subsequently moved back to Portugal.

Fort Kochi Beach is a nice place to explore some historical artifacts and enjoy the night breeze with a pleasant view for a stroll. However, the beach area is a bit dirty with plastic and rubbish left behind by visitors, which takes away from the overall experience.

Nice place, there is also ferry port and water mero terminal near by. Many restaurants and cafes nearby. You can also see the Chinese fishing nets here. Nice place to walk around.

Fort Kochi “beach” isn’t exactly a typical beach — it’s more like the coastline near the port, so you’ll see huge ships passing by. Because of this, there’s quite a bit of trash and it isn’t very clean. But still, it’s a nice place to visit if you want some peaceful sunsets and sunrises. The vibe is calming, even if the beach isn’t perfect.

Vasco square is where you get to see clean se water - rest of the fort kochi beach are full of floating algae and plant bodies. You can take a stroll and pictures at Vasco square facing the Arabian sea. You also get to see lots of cargos and ships from here. Cleanliness can be improved, nonetheless it’s a perfect hangout place for sure with a line of cafes close by. Only downside - there is not enough clean space to get into the sea water.

The walkway is long and clean but the beach has a lot of trash thrown away by people although it looks good it needs cleaning.The fishing nets are also something to note the best time to arrive is at sunset

Visited Wonderla Kochi with my family and had an absolutely amazing time! The park is very well maintained, clean, and organized. We tried all the high-thrill rides and they were simply fantastic, perfectly safe yet super exciting. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the entire place felt very family-friendly. There are plenty of food options and rest areas, which made it easy to spend the whole day there. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a fun-filled day with friends or family!

We have been to this park as a group and enjoyed. It has one of the great and thrilling roller coaster ride. I've been to singapore and malaysia, but this is most thrilling ride among. I suggest to book tickets online and utilse if any online offer available would be cheaper as counter ticket cost more.

Had an awesome day at Wonderla Kochi! The park is super clean and has tons of rides for all ages. The water rides are the best. The dry rides are super fun too. Staff were really friendly and helpful, and they take safety seriously. Even though it was a weekend, it didn’t feel too crowded, which was great. Plenty of parking and clean changing rooms and lockers. Highly recommend this place if you’re looking for a fun day out with friends or family.

Renowned amusement park in Kerala. One of the most popular in India. Originally it was Vegaland, later renamed as Wonderla. Although there are quite a few amusement parks in Kerala, none has the reputation of Wonderla. It is almost a certain item in most schools' study tours. Domestic tourists also flock to the park. Naturally, there is a big crowd most of the time. It has everything necessary to attract children.

Kashi art cafe provide Good ambience and vibes with Unique and trendy atmosphere. Artistic decor with paintings, sculptures, and figurines. Some delicious food options are blueberry with ice cream, beef steak, chocolate cake. People who say Kashi is overpriced, should definitely recheck their portion size. It's such huge portions they serve and the quality of the ingredients used is just too good. Highlighting the calm, artistic vibe, the friendly staff, and the relaxing atmosphere of kashi cafe provide good vibe 💯

The place was pretty packed, but we managed to find a cozy corner table. The ambience was nice and aesthetic in its own way. We were already a bit full when we got there, so we skipped their famous cake (which looked huge) and went for a passion fruit drink and a sandwich instead. The food was good, and they served tapioca chips instead of regular potato chips, which was a nice, innovative touch. The service could’ve been a bit more attentive.

This place promised more than it delivered in my book. The energy bowl sounded incredible and looked great but it under delivered in numbers of respects. The oats and chia mix in the dish was near tasteless. It needed cinnamon or something to lift it above the bland. There also didn’t seem to be much oats at all in the dish, and oats was the main reason I went for it in the first place. To cap it off, the dish was served in a shallow bowl so you really don’t get that much. I have rarely been so let down. The toast with honey disappointed a little too. The bread is too soft and sweet and it feels more American in style than European or Australian. It goes without saying that the dish actually doesn’t feel that healthy. The cappuccino was ok but nothing like a proper western brew in my experience. For me this cafe was a bit style over substance. Everything looks and feels wonderful but the food doesn’t match that at all. No matter, the short wizened Spanish influencer having a mega protein hit at the table beside us (she ate four eggs at once!) was taking photos everywhere here and loading them on her laptop. She’ll doubtless make everything look and sound fantastic here even though it isn’t and perhaps that’s all the place is looking for

We decided to visit this particular cafe because of all the positive buzz it seemed to have, and while the food was certainly decent, it did feel a bit on the pricier side. However, the ambiance there was really fantastic, perfectly suited for someone who appreciates The art. The taste could be improved for the price we pay, but for the ambience, it's a beautiful cafe. The staff was also very nice and courteous. We ordered a cappuccino, iced coffee, and cake. The cake was very chocolatey, very moist, and very good.

I had chicken sandwich which was good and filling. But the service from the staff is below per I must say, especially this is a place where many foreign tourists come. The people here are not so welcoming, the person who took my order had a rude face and the service was just like what you get in any restaurant in kochi, I mean we expect presently smiling and courteous people in these kind of places. The atmosphere and the food was really nice.

Very beautiful place with nice vibe and cozy atmosphere. First part is a gallery through that you enter the cafe with lot of greenery. Omelette was huge, but avocado toast smaller than expected. Big selection of cakes that look great but we didn't try. Staff doesn't seem very enthusiastic about the customers. The place is clean. Second time we came at 8:30 and had to wait 10 more minutes for opening - yes, it's India :-) just be aware of it.

We visited Kashi Art Café for in evening for some Drinks . It is located in the charming Burger Lane of Fort Kochi. The artistic ambience remains one of its specialty, which was pleasant, artistic, and true to the laid-back vibe of the area. I understand it is not very crowded on weekdays when it's not too crowded. We had ginger lemonade , ginger tea, cold coffee and mint flavored lemonade. Service, was a bit slow and since we went on a week end it was a bit difficult to get the seat also.

Beautiful Santa Cruz Cathedral Basilica in Fort Kochi. Free entrance. You can take pictures with your phone but not videos. Most people take their shoes off although there is no such rule. Of course we did the same. It’s one of the eight basilicas in India. during the British invasion in 1795. One of the decorative granite pillars of the destroyed church is preserved as a relic in the basilica. Bishop D. Joao Gomas Ferreira who reached Kochi in 1887 spearheaded an initiative to reconstruct the cathedral. The reconstruction work was a success and in 1905, it was again consecrated by the bishop of Damao, Dom Sebastiao Jose Pereira. It was in 1984 that Pope John Paul II raised the status of the cathedral to that of a basilica.

It’s easily accessible from the main areas of Fort Kochi and has good parking facilities that making visits convenient. It's also conveniently located near the Cochin Water Metro.

There's 2-3 parking place but might be crowded if visiting during peak hours & weekend day's. Especially morning times. There's lot of history and temple is well maintained. Washroom aren't available.

Such a powerful temple, really loved the place. I reached around 6 AM, and all facilities like dormitory, bathroom, restroom and cloak room are available just nearby. Mobile phones you can keep in silent mode. From 7 to 8 AM, poojai will be going on, so you will have to wait around one hour in the queue.

The upper hands holds shankha and chalra and lower hands are in abhaya varada hastam. Idol of Mahavishnu made out of Saligrama is on the same pedestal along with Bhagavathi Amman and so the Deity is called Ammenarayana, Devinarayana, Lakshminarayana and Bhadrenarayana also. Along with Lakshmi & Narayana there are idols of Brahma, Siva, Ganapati (Ganesh), Subramanya, and Sastha on the same pedestal. In the thiruchuttambalam /outer praharam Kizhukkavu Bhagavathy temple, Sastha, Siva, Ganapati, Nagas and Kshetrapalakas and other Upa-Devas. Keelakarai Bhagavathy/ Keezhkkavu Bhagavathi Amman temple is about 200 meters from the main temple. Ayyappan temple on the way to the Keelakarai Bhagavathy Amman Temple. ARCHITECTURE The temple consists of sanctum sanctorum, ardha mandapam, Namaskara mandapam, Nalammbalam, thiruchuttambalam. Sanctum sanctorum is square in plan on a pada bandha adhistanam. The temple was constructed with stone from adhistanam to parastaram. A two tier nagara/ pyramidal Kerala style vimanam is on the sanctum sanctorum. The namaskara mandapam is with an elevated level platform and pyramidal vimanam. HISTORY AND INSCRIPTIONS It is believed the original temple belongs to 10th century CE, constructed during Chera period. Since the temple was built with wood, the temple underwent many renovations. The temple received contributions from, Cheras, Pandyas, Venadu, Travancore Kings, etc. KIZHUKKAVU TEMPLE On the eastern side of the temple pond stands the Kizhukkavu temple.The temple faces west (faces Chottanikara Bhagavathi temple). It is believed that the presiding deity was installed by Vilwamangalam Swamiyar. After the Athazha pooja (main pooja in the evening), the chief priest of the principal deity comes to Kizhukkavu to perform the famous and great pooja "ValiyaGuruthy" (great Sacrifice). The Guruthy is prepared in 12 cauldrons (huge vessel) and is performed at about 8.45 p.m every night. Those who witness the guruthy performance, which itself is awe inspiring and prolonged ceremony, finds it an experience which is indescribable. Being present here during Valiya guruthy on Fridays permanently cures women suffering from mental abnormalities like schizophrenia. An ancient 'Pala' tree standing on the northeastern side of the sanctum sanctorum is covered with long iron nails hammered on by haunted victims with their foreheads.
