My favorite beach in India so far! Has everything.. sunset, backwaters, great food, nice shopping, water & adventure activities, mangrove boating etc and super calm waters.
I just love the beach - it's a beach with the cleanest water I have ever visited Have stayed twice at the beach in the last 4 years and have never been disappointed by the beach If you are looking to stay at calm, peaceful beach kinda getaway from your routine this is where you should be PS Food is slightly expensive side vis a vis the taste though
Palolem Beach is a picturesque, crescent-shaped beach located in the Canacona region of South Goa, India. It is well-known for its serene ambiance, pristine white sand, and calm, shallow waters, making it suitable for both relaxation and water activities. Key Features & Activities Scenic Beauty: The beach is lined with a thick forest of swaying coconut palms and surrounded by hills, offering idyllic scenery and beautiful sunset views. The northern end of the beach features small wooded islands. Atmosphere: Palolem offers a perfect blend of a laid-back atmosphere and vibrant social scenes. Palolem Beach is an absolutely stunning destination! One of the must visit beaches in Goa. 🤩 The clear blue waters and soft sands create a perfect tropical paradise. 🌴 I loved the vibrant atmosphere and the beautiful scenery all around. It's truly a must-visit spot for relaxation and enjoyment. 🏖️ Highly recommend it for a fantastic day out! And definitely take the boat ride from here. You can go to the butterfly island and honeymoon island from here. Also you can spot dolphins.. ☀️ Will definitely be back. 🌊💖
My favourite beach to visit. Perfect to swim, kayak, SUP, or just relax on the sand. It is clean and really visually appealing especially at sunset.
Palolem Beach is pure bliss! A perfect blend of calm vibes, soft sand, and gentle waves. It’s lively but never too crowded — you’ll find beach shacks, yoga spots, and music without losing that peaceful charm. The sunsets here are unreal — golden skies reflecting on the water as boats float by. Early mornings are just as magical with dolphins often spotted near the shore. Easily one of the most beautiful and relaxing beaches in Goa.
One of Goa’s most beautiful and peaceful beaches — clean sands, calm vibes, and magical sunsets. Perfect for a morning walk or a lazy day by the shore, with plenty of charming cafes nearby for that perfect blend of nature and chill.
Serenity Beach truly lives up to its name — a peaceful haven where golden sands meet the gentle rhythm of the waves. The calm blue waters, soft sea breeze, and rhythmic surf create a soothing escape from the chaos of city life. Whether you’re watching the sunrise paint the horizon, walking barefoot along the shore, or capturing the serene landscape on a drone, every moment here feels timeless. A perfect blend of beauty, calm, and nature’s quiet magic. Crystal-clear waters, soft white sand, and the gentle rhythm of waves — this beach feels like nature’s own paradise. The purity of the water reflects the sky like glass, inviting you to dive into its calm embrace. Every ripple sparkles under the sun, every breeze whispers peace. It’s the perfect escape where serenity meets untouched beauty — a reminder that the best moments in life are found by the sea. Golden sunshine, soft sand beneath your feet, and waves gently kissing the shore — this beach is pure bliss. Every step sinks into the warm, velvety sand, soothing your soul and slowing down time. Colva beach is Nice and peaceful beach in South Goa. But somewhere beach is not maintained clean. Good for family. We can have drinks and good eateries here.
it's a beautiful beach. but too crowded. You want they you can go here otherwise there is nothing special about this beach. but the market of this area is really good, every shop is negotiable, if ur planning to do some shopping then you can give it a try.
Kolva beach is around 5 kms from South Goa City of madgaon, Beach is famous for its white sand, water sports like jet skiing, beach is a popular spot for goans and tourists. It's also known for its vibrant nightlife, beach side dining, you can enjoy a veriety of sea foods there with a sip of vine/bear.
Wonderful beach with calm vibes and unhindered view of the sea. Being less explored, the beach has clean sand & loads of sea shells. However, the approach road to the beach is very narrow with limited space for car parking.
Beach is good...Infact it is crowded...Seriously this is not beach for foreigners / Indian tourists...This beach is crowded with locals & even normal people...They will be looking at us like strange things, even if we are wearing sleeveless...Police help & guard help is available...but cannot do anything with staring...The main thing is,its not men staring at us,its the women...Most of the women were burkha weared or else saree weared ...So their looks will be uncomfortable for us...So if you are a foreigner,it is better to Benaulim beach which 12 minutes away from this beach...U will be feeling comfortable... Rather than this thing, this beach is very huge & large...very good place for family...
This is one of the major beaches is South Goa. The beach is very clean, and is situated in an ideal location. You’ll also find tons of water sports here, do carry cash for this. The beach is not very crowded, yet, its very safe. If you like calm, peaceful beach that is also safe, you can visit here.
Its best for couple and chill for quite and romantic place...in night you can have makeout in beach No-one will be there to disturb you and if you in group In beach you can make you on party there...for solo Traveler only 1 day visit is good that it..
Best beach in madgaon & nearby, all i have to say is best location for stay if you need a peaceful stay with all the good restaurants nearby.

15 mins from the much hyped colva beach but this one is much cleaner and less crowded. It's a White sand beach. We spotted many starfishes, sea snails and small crabs on the beach. Beautiful place to enjoy sunset
Betalbatim Beach (often called Belaluim by locals) is a nice, cozy, and peaceful beach — perfect for relaxing away from the crowd 🌊. The sand is clean, and it’s great for an evening walk or just sitting by the waves. However, be careful not to drink alcohol on the beach, as police often patrol the area and can fine you if caught 🚫🍺. Overall, it’s a beautiful, calm spot to unwind and enjoy the serene side of Goa.
South Goa very calm and silent in beach . You will enjoy sunset and winds 🌅. With no crowded. Each beach have different from geography and sand noice.
Benaulim Beach offers a delightful experience! 🏖️ The serene atmosphere and picturesque views make it a wonderful spot to unwind. I particularly enjoyed the peaceful ambiance and the soft sands. Definitely worth a visit!
Benaulim Beach is an absolute paradise that offers everything you could hope for in a coastal getaway. From the moment I arrived, I was captivated by the pristine golden sands stretching as far as the eye can see, framed by the gentle waves of the Arabian Sea. The beach is wonderfully clean and less crowded compared to some of the more tourist-heavy spots, making it the perfect place to unwind and soak in the tranquil beauty of nature. One of the highlights of Benaulim Beach is the warm, welcoming atmosphere created by the local community. Friendly vendors, charming beach shacks, and cozy cafes line the shore, offering delicious fresh seafood and refreshing drinks. I especially enjoyed lounging under the palm trees while savoring Goan specialties, all with the soothing sound of waves in the background. It felt like the perfect balance between relaxation and vibrant local culture. For those seeking adventure, Benaulim Beach has plenty to offer as well. Whether it’s kayaking, dolphin spotting, or simply taking a long, peaceful walk along the shore, there’s something for everyone. The sunsets here are truly breathtaking—each evening, the sky turns into a magnificent canvas of orange and pink hues, providing unforgettable photo opportunities and moments of calm reflection. Overall, Benaulim Beach exceeded all my expectations and left me with wonderful memories. It’s an ideal destination for families, couples, and solo travelers alike who want to experience authentic Goan charm without the hustle and bustle of more commercialized beaches. I can’t wait to return to this serene slice of heaven and recommend it wholeheartedly to anyone visiting Goa.
I truly love this beach...just 12 mins away from Colva beach...OMG Colvabeach was tooooo crowded & with locals...Cannot even wear a sleeveless dress...All were looking us strange things...So,was wondering to go where at that moment...then I suddenly found this beach...This beach is awesome...but it might filled with locals due to popularity in the future...But was toooo good now...Like other beaches in Goa...We could wear beachwears which was not possible in Colva beach...Had a peaceful waves only...very calm beach....😍😍😍
Good For Family neat and Clean. Easily switch to Verca Beach it is also quite and Most beautiful beachs in South Goa. In evening can be enjoy Sunrise views. It is pristine and pictursques
Benaulim Beach: A South Goa Gem (4/5 Stars) Benaulim Beach truly stands out as one of the best locations in South Goa for travelers seeking tranquility and genuine relaxation. Unlike the bustling Northern stretches, Benaulim offers a notably peaceful and serene atmosphere, making it a perfect escape. The crowds here are minimal, allowing for long, quiet walks along the pristine sands where you can actually hear the waves rather than loud music. The location is excellent, providing easy access while retaining that essential laid-back, "old Goa" charm that many visitors crave. It's a fantastic spot to simply unwind and soak up the Goan sun without the constant noise and rush. The overall experience at Benaulim was overwhelmingly positive, supported by practical amenities that make a beach day stress-free. The beach is lined with a collection of genuinely nice shacks, offering comfortable seating, refreshing drinks, and delicious local food without being overly intrusive or pushy. Furthermore, for those driving, the availability of plenty of parking space right near the beach access points is a huge advantage and certainly adds to the convenience. While it’s slightly quieter than some might prefer if they’re looking for a party scene (which is why I'm giving it a strong 4 stars instead of 5), Benaulim Beach offers a wonderfully restful, good-value, and memorable day out. I highly recommend it for anyone looking for a quiet, clean, and beautiful South Goa beach experience.

Excellent beach less crowded and few shacks available .. but when I spoke to the shack person regarding crowd they said Russians are main tourist for them and they usually come from nov til jan which is their leak season
Scenic Beauty: One of the first things that strikes people is the contrast between the white sand, black lava or “lava-ish” rocks, and the gentle flow of the Sal River on one side while the Arabian Sea laps the other. Peace & Cleanliness: Many travellers rate Cavelossim highly for its cleanliness and relatively uncluttered feel. Unlike many of the more famous (and busier) beaches, this one gives you space to breathe, walk, relax, even as the day progresses.
Best white sand beach in south Goa. Less crowded and very peaceful. This is a hidden gem and you can witness pne of the best sunsets here.
This beautiful beach in South Goa is truly a hidden gem peaceful, calm, and perfect for anyone looking to unwind. The shoreline is clean, the waves are gentle, and the whole place has a soothing vibe that instantly relaxes you. What makes it even better are the lovely beach shacks around, serving delicious food and chilled beers. Whether you want to just sit back and soak in the view or enjoy a lazy meal by the sea, this spot never disappoints. A must-visit if you’re exploring the quieter side of Goa!
It’s a very friendly beach where you can enjoy swimming and beautiful sunset views. It’s also conveniently located near the market.
This is a really good beach, clean, scenic and less crowded post entrance area. I would give it five star or more but due to dog attacks I am giving it less , there are safety issues on this beach especially early morning and post sunset due to group(15-20 dogs) of stray dogs. Do keep in mind that there are lot of stray dogs who attack people once it gets dark , keep a stick incase chosing to stay till it gets dark or early morning.
Most beautiful, clean and peaceful beach in South Goa. This place is very quiet and less crowded compared to other beaches. Sunset here is very beautiful and the main attraction of this beach. There are few shacks and no loud music, just peace. Usually foreigners and families visit this beach. The crowd here is quite decent and one can peacefully enjoy the vibes and sounds of the sea. Very clean no waste or garbage anywhere. If you are visiting goa and want to spend quality time with your partner, then this beach should be on your checklist.
The best beach in south Goa , it’s a must visit. Calm , foreigners were more compared to locals , very less shacks , a clean and safe dress changing pods , good for adventure activities too . If I visit south Goa , I’ll surely visit this place again .

Peaceful & Pristine! Varca Beach is one of the most beautiful and cleanest beaches in South Goa. Far from the usual crowd, it offers a serene and relaxing vibe. Perfect for long walks, peaceful sunsets, and quiet time by the sea. Highly recommended if you’re looking to escape the chaos and enjoy nature!
Beautiful beach with nice clean sand . It’s a long beach. One can walk or run on the beach from one end to another end . Luckily well mantained by the local panchayat, as there are no plastics or broken glass of left over liquor bottles on the beach as seen on various other beaches . Must visit site .
My hotel was right on this beach — very clean and almost no crowd, probably because we visited in September. The highlight was the beautiful sunset view, which made the stay even more special.
Varca Beach is perfectly situated in South Goa, approximately 10 km from Margao and just south of Benaulim, forming part of the picturesque Salcete coastal strip. This location keeps it slightly removed from the busier northern beaches, contributing significantly to its pristine and less commercialized charm. The beach's primary appeal is its uncrowded and pristine environment. Unlike the bustling tourist spots, Varca offers vast expanses of soft white sand and swaying casuarina trees, ideal for those seeking solitude and a peaceful escape. It is flanked by luxury resorts, which cater to visitors who value privacy and tranquility. The optimal time to visit this stretch of paradise is between December and March. During these winter months, the weather is consistently pleasant and dry, providing perfect conditions for sunbathing, long walks, and enjoying the serene beauty of the Arabian Sea at its calmest. Safety remains a priority for tourists at Varca. Though tranquil, lifeguards are diligently on duty along the coast. Their presence ensures that while visitors enjoy the beautiful, gentle waves and peaceful waters, they can do so with confidence and peace of mind. Varca Beach is truly a gem for the discerning traveler. Its elegant atmosphere, commitment to cleanliness (as noted by the local 'No Garbage Zone' notice), and overall quietude make it the definitive choice for a luxurious, relaxing, and memorable South Goan holiday.
Probably the best beach experience we had in South Goa! We went in the morning around 8 and relaxed by the beach, which was largely empty and made it feel like a private beach experience. There are lots and lots of shells on the beach and we picked a handful of them with different colors and shades. Very beautiful and a must-visit in South Goa.
Varca beach is well maintained clean beach in South Goa. Less crowded silent wide beach. Beach sports activities like para gliding available here. Good for photo shooting.
One of the best beaches in South Goa, with crystal clear water, no mud. Amazing scenery and plenty of watersporting activities, like paragliding and other stuff. Know how to bargain, they always say double the price they will actually sell for, trust me. This beach is a must visit, even if you're staying in North Goa.
Nice and clean white sand beach with less crowd. Peaceful and serene

3-streamed waterfall, named for its milky waters, with swimming pools surrounded by forest.

One of the best and easiest trek. Start ny morning itself 12+12 kms trek thru forest, streams and tracks. Earlier trek till upper waterfalls now they stopped. Always book a guide, if going solo join a group.
We travelled on 11th Oct 2025. Jeep safari had just opened a day before after the monsoon break. It's recommended to start the journey early we started at 8 am . It is a one hour journey by jeep to the waterfall. You will be given 90 minutes at the waterfall. Additional time can be spent at additional charges. It is the best time to visit as waterfall is in full flow post monsoon. Jeep can accomodate 7 pax . 600 rs per person or 4200 per jeep. Forest check point charge 250 which includes life jacket charges. Pls do not litter this beautiful natural paradise.
A must visit place for people seeking some adventure. You have to reach Kolem by your convenience. Then you’ll have to book local jeep that will take you near the waterfall which would take around 45min. Then there’s 5-10 minutes of hiking and you’ll see the beauty of nature. That’ll cost around Rs 850/- including the forest charges which is 250 Rs. You’ll also get a life jacket that’s included in 850 Rs. You’ll also can also swim in the waterfall.
Good place for adventurous trip. You have option to go for hiking treking and jeep tour. It takes 45mins to go by jeep from the forest gate. Some places you cross the streams and full bumpy road for 45mins. You will be given 90 minutes to enjoy at the water falls. These jeep drivers charge waiting charges if you cross 90 mins. Avoid if elders with back pain. Also the water fall area doesn't have proper fencing support railing or any proper means to stand. Plenty of changing rooms but not maintained properly. You have a life guard near the water falls. Rocks are very skidy and be cautious.
Heavy Queue up to 3-4 hours for buying ticket, after ticket buy seat in their bolero around 45 min then you reach dudhsagar waterfall parking area… after that 10 min walking for dudhsagar waterfall, after seeing you feeling just wow… awesome location.. but time taken.
Writing down so that anyone who wants to go can have an easy trip. Things to note: You cannot take your personal vehicle after the ticket booking point in Kullem. No shops inside, so take your water bottles with you. The road is very very rocky. Anyone with back problems is adviced not to go. You will need to pay a maintanence fee, its about 220 per person. Carry cash, they do not accept any digital payments. Theres 3 ways to reach the actual falls. The first 2 options are a trek. You can trek from Kullem or Castle Rock. The trek from Castle Rock is almost a whole days worth trek and you will need a guide. The one from Kullem is about half a days worth. The roads to reach there are also very muddy mostly because of jeeps that keep crossing the road. I personally would not recommend the trek because it's not very scenic, the roads are bad to non existent and is dangerous in general, especially from Castle Rock. And you can't take a jeep back from there either because jeeps already have their passengers pre-booked from the ticket point. The only advantage of the trek is that you can stay at the falls as long as you want. The third way is to book a jeep. Best way imo. They run non stop from the ticket point. It's 500 person(on top the maintanence fee). They'll drop you at the final leg, from there you have to trek for 10mins. A very simple trek. You get 1.5 hours at the falls. Enough to see whatever the falls has to offer.
It’s an easy to moderate trek for around 11.5 kms one way…the view is not much what we expected but was okish. The guide will force you to take the train track route but please make sure you take the forest route for better view and experience.
There are Two ways to Explore the Mighty Falls, one in by Trek and other is Jeep safari which is 4200 per jeep (Rs.700/- per Head) if you are less then 7 you can share with others. By Trek is very difficult for Inexperience, its took 3 hours up and 3 hours down total of 6 Hours Walk. Forest Entry Ticket is Rs.250/- per person. Jeep Travel time is 45 Min up and 45 min Down. They Gave you 1.30 Hours for bath in Falls if waterflow is low. The 1.30 hours time is not enough for everyone because we cant get out of the falls due to its carry such joy and wild experience, they gave you life jackets so don't worry about if you not know to swim. Overall I highly recommend everyone must visit this Falls once you are in GOA. Timing 9.0 am to 3.0 pm. Checkpost is walkable from Kulem Railway Station, which is 30 min from Madgoan Junction.

Beautiful calm beach with less people. Clean shallow water. First time I'm seeing so many star fishes in my life. So was a memorable experience.
I live here so I obviously love this place but this is what it looks like during the early monsoons. This is how much the local municipality cares about the beaches it earns from throughout the year This is what tourists and the locals do. This is the result of disposing of trash improperly.
One of my favorite beaches in Goa! It's so relaxing and peaceful. Catch the sunset, go for a walk, or just hang out with friends and family.
Clean, Calm and peaceful. Go for sunrise and sunset walk. Lots of crabs, Jelly fish(dead) and sea-star can be seen at beach. There are 2-3 beach shacks with plenty of options in their menu.

Majorda Beach is one of the most famous beaches in South Goa. Lovely beach shacks. White sands. Pristine waters. Less crowd. Wonderful sunset views. What more can one ask for. Water activities are plenty. Quite reasonable as well. Great crowd and wonderful service. Ample parking space. Lifeguards at the beach. Great place for a family outing.
Very peaceful beach.. Not Crowded.. u can enjoy with your family.... Amazing view of sunset.. good for photography
Beautiful and relaxing place! The beach was clean, peaceful, and perfect for spending time with friends or family. Great atmosphere and amazing view. Truly a refreshing experience — highly recommended to visit.
If you're chasing the perfect Goan sunset on a genuinely clean beach, Majorda is the answer. This crescent-shaped bay is simply stunning. The sand is golden, the water is calm, and the local vendors and shacks respect the environment, keeping the area pristine. The evening view as the sun dips below the horizon, painting the sky in vibrant orange and purple hues, is nothing short of magical. It's less crowded than North Goa, making the experience tranquil and memorable. Highly recommended for couples and families looking for the best that Goa has to offer!
Peaceful and less crowded than other beaches. Perfect for sunset view. There are 2-3 cafés too that offers good food with shacks.
Nice beach of the Goa near to madgao, clean and usually less crowded, so you can enjoy your trip. To reach there you can hire a scooter and go through the road parallel to sea. You can go any time of the day between October to February month, but evening is specially butiful.
Beautiful sunset. Clean beach. A couple of shacks with mostly foreign tourists.
Went there on an evening. It's very relaxing beach. But the thing is if u want to go to the beach you have a cross a very minute stream of water. The sand is usually soft. Since it was monsoon it was okay-ish. The water is clear. Dosen't have the fishy odour. The fun fact is there are people who braid your hair on a charge of 100₹ it's quite expensive. First they say it's 150₹ but I would suggest to bargain a bit. Not much of parking available.

The fort itself is quiet and raw, not overly restored or touristy — which is exactly what makes it beautiful. You can still feel the weight of history in the broken walls, yet nature has completely taken over in the best way possible. Monsoon greenery everywhere, and the sea stretching endlessly in every direction. If you catch it at sunset, you're in for something magical. But the real surprise? Pebbles Beach — a hidden gem just below the fort. It’s not easy to reach (a bit of a climb down), but absolutely worth it. A tiny cove with smooth black pebbles instead of sand, waves crashing against the rocks, and barely a soul around. It felt like stepping into a secret world. Tip: Wear good shoes, carry water, and take your time exploring. There's no commercial setup here — and that’s the best part. Cabo de Rama isn’t just a place you see. It’s one you feel.
Beautiful and scenic spot. You can spend a whole day sitting in this peeble beach with the soothing sound of waves and the waves hitting the rocks and making the soothing sound to ears and soul. Please make a note that this beach does not have any lifeguards and other safety precautions. This spot is good for scenic photography and videography. You have to go down a steap steps to enjoy the beach waves.
Cabo de Rama Fort is one of the most beautiful and peaceful historical spots in South Goa. The fort offers breathtaking panoramic views of the Arabian Sea and surrounding cliffs — truly a paradise for nature and photography lovers. 🌅📸 The place is clean, calm, and less crowded, which makes it perfect for those who want to escape the busy beaches and enjoy some quiet time. You can easily spend an hour or two here soaking in the natural beauty and cool sea breeze. There’s also a small church inside the fort and plenty of spots to sit, relax, and watch the sunset. The drive to the fort itself is scenic, surrounded by lush greenery and coastal views. It’s a great spot for couples, families, and solo travelers looking for a peaceful escape with a touch of history and stunning sea views.
I visited Cabo de Rama Fort in Canacona, and it turned out to be one of the most memorable spots of our trip. The fort sits atop a dramatic cliff-cape, with sweeping views of the Arabian Sea. Wandering along the old bastions, I felt the weight of centuries of history — from legends of Rama and Sita, through the Soonda rulers, to the Portuguese era and even its time as a prison. What really stood out were the old cannons still in place, the whitewashed chapel of St Anthony quietly functioning inside the walls, and the viewpoint that is absolutely perfect for a sunset. Although the fort is partly in ruins and not over-commercialised, that’s part of its charm — you get peace, space to reflect, and spectacular nature all around. If you go, try to arrive a little before sunset, wear good shoes for uneven ground, bring water and a camera, and give yourself time just to sit and soak in the view. For me, this place felt like a hidden gem — historic, scenic, and soothing.
Cabo de Rama Fort – A Peaceful Escape in South Goa Located in South Goa, Cabo de Rama Fort is one of those places that beautifully combines history with breathtaking natural views. The fort offers a stunning panoramic sight of the Arabian Sea, with cool breeze and quiet surroundings that make it a peaceful escape from the busier beaches of North Goa. The structure itself is mostly in ruins, but the charm lies in its simplicity and the serene vibe it carries. There’s also a small church inside the fort that adds a touch of heritage and calm to the experience. It’s a great spot for photography and sunset views, though there aren’t many facilities around, so it’s best to carry water or light snacks with you. Overall, Cabo de Rama Fort is perfect for those who love scenic landscapes, history, and a little solitude — a true hidden gem in South Goa.
This fort is located in south goa. This place gives us panoramic sight of sea, here we can see a church in the fort. The name is the church is St. Antony church. This fort does not have tickets(entry fee). The guard just take your details like name, no. Of people and they require your id. We can enjoy the best sunset over here. The fort is clean and calm you can relax here and enjoy the sunset. The best time to visit this fort will be monsoon because of its greenery. We can also go down through the fort to enjoy the pebble beach which is not for beginners. A small cave with smooth black pebbles instead of sand. This can be more beautiful. This is true hidden place. This fort is well maintained and it also has plenty of parking outside the fort. If you are lucky enough then you can also see peacock here. The last entry here is at 5.30pm and you can stay inside the fort till 6.30pm, so better manage your time. You can enjoy the nature and click amazing pictures over here.
Cabo de Rama Fort is easily one of the most stunning historical sites in South Goa, offering a perfect blend of rich history and genuinely breathtaking coastal views. Unlike the often-crowded North Goa forts, this site provides a tranquil, dramatic experience that is absolutely worth the drive. The fort stands on a cliff edge, providing a spectacular, sweeping 360-degree panorama of the Arabian Sea. From the weathered ramparts, you can witness the coastline stretch for miles, including distant views of Palolem and its neighboring beaches. It is perhaps the single best place in South Goa to catch a sunset; the ocean view combined with the ancient ruins creates an incredibly photogenic and serene moment. While the fort itself is mostly ruins, the ancient stone walls, massive gates, and the preserved church of Santo Antônio inside (still active today) speak volumes about its turbulent history under various rulers, including the Portuguese. The atmosphere is deeply peaceful and restorative, making it an excellent spot for quiet reflection, reading, or simply enjoying the sea breeze. Key Highlights: Location: Dramatic cliffside setting offering uninterrupted coastal views. Vibe: Tranquil, historic, and ideal for escaping crowds. Photography: A paradise for landscape and sunset photography. If you are traveling through South Goa, make sure to allocate an afternoon to visit Cabo de Rama. Arrive about an hour before sunset, walk the ramparts, soak in the history, and claim your spot for a view you won't soon forget.
We visited this place when we were travelling from south Goa to North Goa. We had stopped there in the morning and just felt like we were the only one on the beach. The fort was not that much worth visiting but the Pebble beach was mesmerizing. The road towards the Pebble beach goes through the fort itself and you need to take 30 to 40 steps down to reach the Pebble beach. Once you reach there you just get lost in the view and the atmosphere here.... The beach usually attracts less crowd as it's not that much exploring. We got many Pebble from here as a souvenir from here.... There's a Security Guard at the entrance of the fort who records your check-in and check-out time along with your ID details , I don't know for what purpose. There is enough parking available here. You can easily spend 1 to 2 hours exploring here. Definately recommend in your South Goa Trip...

Idyllic sand beach with resorts, spas & restaurants nearby, for water sports & scenic vistas.

A nice quieter and cleaner beach of Goa. Surrounded with many trees around and has some shacks and nice restaurants at the beach to enjoy. There are water sports vendors at the beach in peak seasons at this beach too. You can spot dolphins early morning some times when the waters are clear. Stayed here for 5 days, if you are living nearby this is a good place to escape crowds but still enjoy the tourism infrastructure. Also has a lifeguard on duty in season times and is safe for swimming.
While traveling from Palolem to Candolim, this beach is a must-visit if you’re taking the road route. We stopped here on the way, and the drive leading to the beach was simply beautiful. Ideally, plan your visit in the evening for the best experience.
The entire stretch of Cansaulim Arossim beach is very quite and serene. There isn't much crowd, just some locals out on a stroll. Shops and eatery are non existen. This place is just to sit back and relax. The sand is white and soft dotted with shells and starfish. The approch road is not paved so you can't bring a four wheeler. Also the approch road is isolated and not well lit so advisable to leave before ot becomes too dark.
A serene beach with very little crowd. Infact I was all alone. There's a lifeguard and you can swim upto waist high waters. There are no shops nor any shacks. Waters are crystal clear. No garbage on the beach. Just 200 mts walk from carpark. Just be careful of barking dogs. They look ferocious. They keep barking at you. Ignore them and walk to the other entrance. You should be fine.
Peaceful and relaxing beach. Best to catch the sunset. Less populated. The final road about 200 meters (final right turn from the maps) to the beach is not paved and not very good choice for cars. Only limited (about 3-4) number of cars can enter. 2 wheelers can go easily. Best to park at the free space available before you can turn right.
Superb beach. Slightly seclude, good if you are in a group. Late evening can be risky for solo female or couple
One of the nicest beaches to go to if you are looking for peaceful and more private beach, since it's hard to reach there are almost no people there at all, really good hidden gem in goa
Cansaulim Beach: Goa’s Serene Stretch of Golden Sands If you’re looking for a slice of Goa away from the tourist crowds, Cansaulim Beach is a hidden gem that promises peace and pristine beauty. Located in South Goa, this expansive stretch of golden sand is an extension of the famous Velsao and Arossim beaches, yet it remains wonderfully uncrowded. The beach is perfect for long, uninterrupted walks, with swaying palm trees and fishing boats adding to its charm. The waters are clean and calm, making it a great spot for a relaxing swim. Unlike the noisy party beaches up north, Cansaulim offers a laid-back atmosphere with just a few beach shacks serving fresh seafood and chilled drinks. Visit during sunset, and you’ll be treated to a breathtaking view with the sky painted in hues of orange and pink. Whether you’re a solitude seeker, a couple looking for a romantic escape, or a traveler wanting to experience Goa’s quieter side, Cansaulim Beach is a perfect retreat.

Absolutely bonkers it’s an attack on your sight and senses every time we go we find something new the food the spices the scent of jasmine is wonderful it’s a must see and do
Very busy, lots indoor and outdoor stalls selling mainly same stuff but good place get spices, fruit , nuts, flowers clothing, homeward etc. Was able to get photos and taste some food before I bought items. Worth haggling but also thinking about how much you be prepared to pay & what you are get for your money when you convert to your currency.
“MMC New Market is a great place to get an authentic feel of Goa. It offers a true local market experience with a lively atmosphere and plenty of shops to explore. Parking for two-wheelers is easy and hassle-free, which makes visiting even more convenient. The shopkeepers are warm, friendly, and always ready to help—adding to the charm of the place. A wonderful spot to enjoy the local Goan vibe!”
Very crowded, roads are narrow, Always bargain here as the rates vary between shops. Visit only if Madgaon is on the way.. You get all varieties of cloths, shoes etc. Avoid it if there is time constraint...
Forget running around! Margo Market truly stands out as the ultimate one-stop shop, making it incredibly easy to effortlessly tick off every item on your list. It's the best place to get all your requirements fulfilled conveniently in one fantastic area, saving you time and effort. Absolutely brilliant!
To buy local goan food items, it's a good place in south goa. You can get goan spices, jaggery, pickel, and offcourse Cashews in reasonable rates. Ample two wheeler and four wheeler parking nearby
Great food, very very good value for money. Right next to the market. Highly recommended
I recently visited the Margao Municipality Market in search of basic household requirements and was pleasantly surprised by my experience. The market offered a wide variety of goods, and I found almost everything I needed and more. The vendors were friendly and helpful, making the shopping experience enjoyable. The market's diverse selection and vibrant atmosphere make it a great place to find essentials and discover new items. Overall, my visit to the Margao Municipality Market was highly satisfying, and I appreciate the convenience and variety it provides.

My wife and I did a cooking class with Rita, and it was amazing! Rita is so friendly - she even customized the menu to be vegetarian and highlight Goan cuisine we'd never tried before. The cooking was so fun, and Rita explained everything very clearly. The food was delicious, and the recipes she sent us home with are super easy to follow - can't wait to try them at home!
Despite us showing 1 month early (In the email I said April when I meant March!), Rita welcomed us. She and her team only asked us to wait a little bit for them to prepare while given us treats, coffee and tea. We had a short explanation about spices and Masala tea. We then did the cooking class. We learnt a lot about Indian food and how to cook it. It was fun and us adults and our 2 kids really enjoyed it. Rita and her team are very friendly and helpful through the whole class. A really good way to spend time in Goa.
I had a fantastic experience learning how to make the different curry paste, then how to use it in each the dishes. Then I got to eat it! The excellent Mrs Suwarna made me look like a professional! If you are sunburned or tired of the beach, try a cooking class at Rita's!
We got a group of 10 students and 3 teachers from AIGLON Switzerland and they absolutely had the best culinary experience ever by Rita. Can’t thank Rita enough and we highly highly recommend this. Please also do the market tour :) it’s just brilliant
Had a fantastic time at the class and the market tour was way better than expected. Rita took time to explain things well and make sure we understood all of the differences in everything involved. The food cooking was brilliant and made the experience very easy to follow and made me feel I could do this back at home with the easy to follow recipe’s given. Rita and her husband were incredibly welcoming and hospitable from the moment of arrival to the time I left. I couldn’t recommend them enough to you and I’m sure you won’t be disappointed.
Amazing experience! This was one of the best cooking classes I have ever taken. Rita is kind and extremely knowledgeable. She is an excellent teacher and the food was incredible. The entire experience from start to end was well worth it. No matter where you are from, if you come to goa you can’t miss taking her cooking class! The morning started off making masala chai and breakfast. She then took us to a market and showed us all of the local fruits and vegetables. When we came back to her place she showed us how to make three main courses, a starter, and a desert. She loves to cook and teach and you can easily tell by the ease and fun she shows her guests. I would recommend this experience completely!
I spent the day today (9:30am to 2:30pm) at Rita’s cooking school with 10 students from the international school where I work, who are visiting India on a school trip. Rita was very engaging and both she and her husband have a very passionate and informative way of talking about food. We had a great visit to a local market and made such delicious food. My students absolutely loved the experience and devoured the food afterwards. A very authentic local experience.
I went to Rita’s for the Indian bread course, Rita is an excellent teacher and I was surprised and delighted by how much we got through in one class!! The class is hands on, after a demonstration you make all the breads and chutneys yourself including kneeding the dough, shaping and cooking. I would highly recommend it both a fun authentic activity but also to really learn how to make the dishes or breads you make ! I can’t wait to impress my friends with my new skills

Quiet, serene and peaceful beach 🏖️ Mostly the fishermen come here to catch the fishes 🐠 so it’s not too commercialised and there’s no eateries nearby. Our stay was connected to this beach so we came here for a walk and it was the best thing to do early morning! So therapeutic 🫰🏻🫰🏻🫰🏻
Most cleanest and well maintained beaches in Goa. With super clear water and white sand. Very lightly crowded and that’s what makes it a special.
Betalbatim Beach is a tranquil jewel in South Goa, famed for its clean, soft sands and relatively remote atmosphere. This picturesque coastline offers a more serene experience compared to its busier neighbors, making it perfect for peaceful strolls and sunbathing. When hunger strikes, you are spoilt for choice with popular nearby spots like Beach Beleza by the Beach, Joels Shake, and the convenient Nanu Beach Retreat. These establishments provide excellent local cuisine and refreshing drinks to complete your relaxing day by the sea. Safety is a high priority here, as evidenced by the dedicated lifeguards constantly on duty. They clearly mark the designated safe zones with flags, ensuring that swimmers and waders can enjoy the clear waters with peace of mind and security. However, visitors must remain cautious near the waterline. The proximity to Mormugao Port (Vasco Da Gama) means occasional debris, such as unexpected wooden rafts or fishing nets, can drift into the area. Always remain alert and aware of your immediate surroundings in the water. Ultimately, Betalbatim offers the ideal blend of natural beauty, convenient amenities, and excellent safety measures. Just be mindful of the occasional marine traffic reminders, and you will find this beach a truly beautiful and relaxing Goan getaway.
Awesome beach 😍 we enjoyed a lot…Evening time it will be very beautiful
Betalbatim Beach is One of the best beaches in South Goa. Clean, golden sands and clear waters, it's an ideal spot for relaxation. It is located right between Colva and Majorda. It’s a way better choice than the commercialized beaches in the south region. Suitable for families, couples, and solo travelers seeking a quiet retreat. The beach provides picturesque sunset views, enhancing its appeal for evening visits. The beach has fewer shacks and shops compared to more tourist heavy areas. Overall it’s a must visit beach for first time travelers to Goa. One downside being there is no public transport to this beach.
Beach! It’s clean, quiet, and much less crowded than other beaches in Goa. The sunset view is stunning, and the cool breeze makes it perfect for long walks. Truly one of the most relaxing beaches.
Totally, totally worth visiting Betalbatim Beach! I was staying near Benaulim, and it was hardly 2 km away. This place is absolutely beautiful — calm, clean, and not at all crowded. It’s a perfect spot if you want to swim or just relax peacefully. One thing to note: avoid going at night, as the way is quite dark and the area isn’t very crowded, so it’s better to visit during the day. For girls, it’s a very comfortable and safe beach — you can wear whatever you like and just enjoy freely. I stayed for 3 days nearby and had an amazing time. You’ll also find many friendly foreigners around. Definitely a must-visit beach in South Goa — peaceful, free, and totally worth it! 🌊✨
Beach sand is different when compared to other beaches around. They have good party places near beach. The bioluminescence thingy was not visible eve though we visited in best time of occurrence.
