The only language available for the guided tour when I went was Spanish, but they provided audioguides in English (and French and German, if I remember correctly). The tour guide was very friendly and always made sure to give some explanation in English for me. He also answered any questions I had. The church itself is really interesting, and I recommend going up the tower especially around sundown. Better to reserve a slot for the tour in advance; mine was full on a Tuesday.
Truely terrific place. A combination of a chruch and city walls on an uneven ground. This lead to constructual problems that have been bugged the building for ages. And then in the sixthees a desasterous decision to remove internal buttresses. in english a very good guide through the building, from underground to the tower with views over the country side. You have to make a reservation through Internet or in person. In the end they show the true colours of the building, from now to the 16th century Closed between 1400 and 16.30m Worth the trip
We had a tour in Spanish, but with audioguide in English. We never had such a great, complete experience from enormous foundations to the roof, and everything in between. The restoration is well done. Tour guide was friendly and helpful. The Cathedral is not so over-decorated as many others in Spain, but very interesting non the less. Highly recommend tour!
The building was closed for renovation when we visited. Beautiful architecture in a very friendly town.
As the Cathedral is still in a period of extended restoration you have to visit with a guided tour, so the entrance fee will set you back around ten euros, unless you qualify for a concession. However the tour is detailed and exhaustive, including a trip down through its crumbling foundation pillars, then into its spectacular romanesque interior before going up to the Tower. The journey there, along a narrow ledge that overlooks the cathedral interior, before acsending up a spiral staircase, is almost as exciting as the views it offers of the surrounding city.
It is certainly not the prettiest or the mos architecturally inspiring cathedral in Spain. However, it has an interesting story of trying to withstand the original construction errors. Fortunately, the cathedral has been saved from an imminent collapse after the last restoration. The guided visit is super interesting, as it takes you to places that are usually not accessible to the public, including the foundations.
A must visit in Vitoria-Gasteiz! Guided tours are very good...best option is: Cathedrale Tour + Tower! View from there above the city is awesome! They have guided tours in English...but also audioguides in different languages! This is a sure must visit if you are in town. Check out the tours on their official site! Never had a guided tour like this...for that price...anyway in this world! The Tour ends with projection show of how the coloring of the church was ages ago...never saw something like this before...even in Rome or somewhere else! So much love and affection to history combined with modern technology!
The work done of restoration of this Cathedral is amazing. It seems that construction was not very well done, and during the time the attempts to repair it were not very successfully also. From a few year now, was done a huge work to understand was was wrong and what exactly had to be done to save the building.

Last visit : August 2014 Beautiful place to go for a walk, there are many beautiful sculptures there. The scenery there is wonderful, there are different plants and the garden is located in the center of city, close to the main tourist attractions, historical places, restaurants and shops.
Such a lovely park to visit . There are plenty of benches dotted along the pathways of this lovely well maintained park , I was and am especially impressed that the grass is not over cut allowing daisy’s and buttercups etc to flourish and they look so pretty . There are cafes in the park along with an ice cream van , there is a lovely bandstand close to the cafes . This is a lovely place to chill and so close to the town , practically in it .
a little small but nice to chill if need be. pity streets on either side are kinda noisy
Beautiful park with lots of shade from trees. Colourful flower beds and cafes. Right beside the cathedral. There's also a toilet.
Nice small park with Footsal/ Basketball court. Has lots of benches to sit on, playground. Good for picnics, dogs, kids, or casual chill
Lovely spot, cool in the summer doggy friendly, wheel chair friendly. Two nice bars where in the summer are in the shade to enjoy the life go by
Gorgeous park and creepy cathedral. What else can you ask.

It is amazing 🤩🤩 place 😀
We walk it regularly. It's a great place for a country stroll within easy reach of the town. You can walk the distance you want and find public transport back to the centre.
Vitoria is a beautiful small city with lots of parks and green areas. This is one of these beautiful places and worth the visit especially with small children.

Must see place if you are nearby. So much history that is nicely preserved in old street alleys and churches
Although they don't seem to be to be accessable to view except on the western side where you can go out of the old center under an excellent gate with portcullis then take a left and skirt them on the outside for a few hundred metres on the walkway provided. Looking at them you can kind of imagine what it would have been like to live when an enemy closed in on the city and everyone would have to retreat inside!!

One of the most interesting museums I have been to, simple, enjoyable in a splendid historical building.
Interesting and unusual, if not unique. Wide range of playing cards from around the world, well displayed. Date from 1420 onwards. Free entry. Well worth a visit. Archaeology museum adjacent.
This museum really exceeded my expectations. I went in thinking, 'How interesting can playing cards really be?', but boy was I wrong. It's an art form! They have some really gorgeous pieces and with lots of history too; some pieces go back to the 1600s. So many different styles and themes. It was really good especially for a free museum.
Great place if you are into museums and learning. You'll get to see very beautiful and interesting decks of cards from very ancient times. Everything from the begging is well explained for you to go at your own pace. Plus, you'll learn about the city's history. Follow 4 more interesting places IG @thaziatapia
Interesting museum for a short visit. Cards exhibition is unique. Free entry.
What a nice little museum to explore. Friendly personal and great WiFi made for a nice stay.
This playing card museum is attached to the archeology museum. A small museum in a lovely restored building. It would have been a much nicer experience if explanations where in English and if they would actually sell some cards. The museum is free of charge.
Such a great museum! Very unusual and unique theme. And it's free entrance!

A charming stopover with a collection of local religious artefacts.
Large but reasonably new by Spanish standards cathedral which is reasonably impressive. It also had a reasonably large and impressive religious art exhibition that would have been quite expensive in other cities. It was free to enter but note that it's often closed between 2-4pm
Very airy and lofty Cathedral, the stained glass windows and architecture are the highlite here. Also take notice of the stone sculptures both inside and out which are exceptional.
Beautiful, peaceful, and welcoming cathedral in Vitoria Gasteiz! Lots of love for this cathedral.
Very good tour full of interesting facts. The reception made special effort to get us in as their was no tour at the time we arrived. think of looking up the tour times for non spanish speaker as it's the only way to get in while the building is being renovated.
Even if not so old as the other cathedral in the city, it's quite the piece of architecture. Beautiful and impressive, the ambulatory is astonishing. Entrance is free, so it's really a must see!
excellent large museum right in the main nave of the church next to the alter

aka - Museum of Contemporary Art of the Basque Country. Permanent collection holds works by numerous artists, including Eduardo Chillida, Manolo Millares, Pablo Palazuelo. The museum offers free entrance options (e.g. afternoons). The exhibition called Adına, Oteiza, Palazuelo - Shaping the Transcendental was my favorite!
The entrance was free, and the lady at the reception was very kind. We had visited this museum a year ago, and we really enjoyed the exhibitions back then. However, today we didn’t particularly like the four different exhibitions on display. This place has a lot of potential to host great works and showcase new artists. The fact that entry is free in the afternoons and on Sundays is fantastic, as it allows access to culture for those who may not have much money. I still recommend this museum because it’s likely you’ll find exhibitions that suit your taste in the future. Just make sure to check the current exhibitions before visiting.
Beyond the city's free museums, this contemporary art space provides an enjoyable atmosphere for relaxation and reflection. Its expansive exhibits make it a fair choice for families or those seeking a peaceful cultural experience.
I really enjoyed this museum, especially as entrance is free/donation. Just wish it had the works by Picasso, Dali, or Miro that I had read about
Loved the exhibitions they have here. The entrance is free on certain days and evenings but you can choose to make a donation.
Very nice small museum with a great display of regional artists.
Slightly oddball museum which costs 5 Euro to enter note that the building is mainly underground so is larger than it first appears
Very nice collection of modern art. The little quiz you can do is very entertaining and makes for an enjoyable experience! Loved it.

It measures 225 square meters, perfectly adapted to the side of the façade. It was inaugurated in 2007. It is located exactly on Calle Chiquita, 9, although it can be seen from Plaza de las Bullerias, almost at the foot of the Cathedral of Santa María. The set is really beautiful. The little boy in me loves this free to enter museum. Kept Casta out of the bar. Full of weapons and dioramas.
A small museum as museums go but interesting displays. You can use QR codes to get commentary in English.
It is small but has many exponents. Plus it was free and the lady there took the time to explain some of the things.
My favourite museum in Vitoria. It has a collection of old weapons and medieval armours: all in good state and beautifully arranged for display. The entry is free.
Very interesting museum, free entry. Very helpful custodian who have us a brief explanation of how the museum is set up. Well worth a visit.
We enjoyed this small armor museum. Lots to see. All info is displayed in Spanish/Basque however through the QR codes next to the display you can listen to an English audio guide. So bring your headset!
Nice small museum with different arms and such to view. Note that it is free to enter and is located directly opposite the fine art museum which is also free. It's also in a reasonably leafy and photogenic area.

That was my second visit as I really love admiring the details of the wooden sculptures. It's great too that the museum is actually in the cathedral, so you can soak in the atmosphere of a big old church with its colourful windows. Free of charge, like most museums in Vitoria. Don't forget to check out the crocodile and the rhino sculptures behind the building.
An incredible display of first and second millennial sacred art and artifacts. Very much worth our time. Free!
Amazing architecture, stunning..well worth a visit.
