They brought a rollaway bed which had stains all over the mattress pad and did not provide a replacement; we ended up not being able to use it. Eventually, I stood there so long that the one guy left to go home and someone else showed up. This was for the most part fine aside from the surprise mandatory $45 valet parking charge. Which, upon reading other reviews, it seems like I wasn’t the only one surprised by this. I noticed the hotel commented on other reviews and stated that it was posted on the website. So I went and looked, and the website does say there is a charge, but it’s $40, not the $45 I was charged. When I brought this up I was told the website is out of date. At this point we made our way to our room, and it was very apparent this was an old hotel with a bad flip. The hallways gave off more murder hotel than trendy high-end luxury, and in each hallway there was a terrible smell machine, clearly meant to mask bad odors, but the only thing it smelled like was a high school locker room filled with a cloud of Axe body spray. Once in the room it got worse, the towels were all ripped and about as cheap as they come, the paint was peeling, the shower head was falling down, the rug was stained, there was no handle inside the bathroom door, and the AC unit was incredibly loud. If this were the end of the bad, I would not have written any review, but what happened next was the straw that broke the camel’s back. My wife and I decided to pay to rent bikes from the hotel (not included in the hotel price,) to ride to Frisco for lunch. On our ride to Frisco, about 6 miles from the hotel, the bike chain on one of the bikes broke, and let me be clear, it did not just fall off, it completely broke apart. I figured this would be no big deal, we’ll call the hotel and someone will come get us or swap the bike. Wrong again. We called the hotel and were told to go find the bus and take that back to town. We were nowhere near the bus, so we flagged down some other bikers to see if they had any tools to fix the chain. Unfortunately, no luck. At this point we looked for the bus. Unfortunately the bus only holds a few bikes and was full, so we ended up walking the bikes all the way back to the hotel. Once we got back, I asked the bike shop guy for a refund since we walked the bikes more than we were able to ride them, and he said he’d only give me a refund for the one bike. I argued that the other one was also useless to us since one of us was stuck walking. He then got upset and said he was ready to come bring us another bike, but we wouldn’t answer and hung up on him. In the two conversations we had, he never once offered this, we were told to figure it out or take the bus. I then said I’m not trying to be difficult, but I don’t think we should be charged for the two bikes. When you stay at a hotel for $240 a night…in the off season, one would expect high standards. No one could pay me to stay here again, and if the hotel reaches out to offer a free night, it will be declined. Location was great, walking distance to a lift with covered parking to boot. The views from our patio were great. It's a damn shame no one seems to care about maintaining the place. Upon arrival, the first thing we do is head to the balcony to look out. It's an incredibly nice view down Main Street, however it would've been nicer were it not framed by probably 30 cigarette butts (please see photos) scattered all across the balcony, in a non-smoking unit no less! This horrible welcome made us wonder if the unit had even been cleaned between guests. We checked the sheets to make sure someone had bothered to change them between guests. Although clean, the bed was very uncomfortable and the linens were cheap and worn. We then tried to turn the fireplace on. It was broken. We contacted the front desk two times, however it remained broken for the entirety of our 3 night stay. At one point, it magically began working and so we told maintenance that, however it quickly stopped and we had to follow up with them again, asking them to please enter the unit to repair it. No one ever came, which was a real problem because the heater in the unit barely worked and we really could've used the fireplace for the heat. It was near impossible to warm the place up. The patio door lock was completely broken, too. There was no way to lock the door! Yes, we were on the fourth floor but it was a security concern nonetheless. We asked maintenance to fix it, twice, and no one bothered. The rest of the unit was just worn and poorly cared for. The walls were in desperate need of paint, drywall tape was showing through in both the living room and the bedroom (see pics), the lights above the stove in the microwave were burnt out. The lampshade in the bedroom was falling apart (see pics). It is a real shame that care and upkeep of this unit is so paltry, because the location and views are truly tough to beat. In the future, we will think twice about staying in a Vacasa managed property.
