Opening hours vary (suggest you ring first to check actually open) only £5 entry. Created and maintained over the last 45 years by Frank and Marjorie Lawley, the garden and its surrounding buildings (their rented home) is clearly a labour of love. I suspect now that Frank is in his mid 80's, and Marjorie suffers from Alzheimer's, it has become a bit of a burden ; Frank suggests it is when you speak to him while he pauses for a little rest. To me a non gardener, but appreciator of beauty and design, this is a garden laid out to a formal plan, but planted to meet the climate and the creators vision for this 'landscape painting'.
