Walking down to the bar we were greeted by the loveliest friendly staff member who made our lunch worthwhile . We chose beef burgers for hubby and my self after a big hike it felt appropriate. My son also ordered the kids burger. They may have been the worst expensive burgers we’ve ever had. Starting off with the actual beef patty. It was bland and had no flavour. No seasoning. And was so over cooked. Covered in dry char. The tomato was unripe. The special sauce was not special or just not enough of it. And the bun was so stale. They had toasted it but it could have used much longer to disguise the staleness. The chips were the redeeming winner. The photo pictured I had to add my sons tomato sauce to the burger so it wasn’t bone dry. He also ate around the beef patty. Leaving only the patty on the plate it was that bad. If this meal was $12 I wouldn’t have left this review. But the adult burger was $28 and not worth it. The kids burger was $18 and also not worth it. Drinks were lovely. And the service from our one bar lady were awesome. We would have left early and not ordered a second drink if she wasn’t there. Apon leaving the reception staff (which you had to walk past to leave). Didn’t acknowledge us, with a thanks for coming or stopping in. Or asking how our experience was. For a 4 star hotel with let’s face it 5 star prices. I’ve never experience reception staff quite like it.
