울창한 숲속이라 여름에도 시원함. 윗쪽으로 가는 트레킹이래도 경사 매우 완만. 산책로 수준. 너무 멋진 트래킹로를 따라 가면 기분 좋은 바람이 부는 폭포를 만남. 폭포에서 이어지는 물에 낚시하는 사람이 많은데 한명도 뭘 잡은걸 본 적은 없지만 낚시하는 사람이 여럿인 걸 보면 뭐가 나오긴 하나봄. 계곡이 꽤 물이 많아 자는 내내 물소리를 들을수 있음.
소음 심함. 화장실 샤워실 낡음. 샤워 가능한데 야외에 칸막이 수준이고 온수가 나오다 맘. 설거지 절대 불가. 숲속인데다 계곡 규모가 커서 그런지 자고일어나니 이불도 공기도 눅눅함. 캠핑 끝나고 모두 바짝 말려야 곰팡이 안 생길듯.
후기에 차소리가 시끄럽다 되어 있다지만 뭐 차도가 근처에 있으면 종종 날수 밖에 없지뭐. 하고 생각했는데 ㅋㅋㅋ 이건 그냥 차소리가 아니여. 경주장 굉음이여 ㅋㅋㅋㅋ 차 소리가 시끄럽게 나는 도로쪽이 언덕 위에 있고 우리 캠핑장이 고도상 아래에 있음. 유난히 울려서 작은 차소리도 크게 나는 건가 하고 지형적인 이유인가 싶었는데 아니었음. 캠핑을 마치고 집으로 돌아올 때 이유를 알았네. 라이더들의 성지인것마냥 스포츠카들과 오토바이 무리들이 부와아아앙 굉음을 내는 곳이었음.
자연점수는 100점 만점 100점인데
소음과 화장실 샤워실 낙후정도는 좀 안...좋음.
한인들이 거주하는 커뮤니티에서 정말 가까운 소풍장소 한국에서 보았던 폭포와 계곡을 만날 수 있는 곳, 계단이 많아 체력이 약한 분들은 어려울 수 있다.도시락을 준비해 가면 더욱 좋다.
에덴스에서 탈루아 폭포까지 가는 길이 아름답습니다. 가을에 한번 달려보고 싶네요. 탈루아 폭포에 도착해 탁자에서 점심 먹고 트레킹 시작. 탈루아 폭포 보려면 계단을 좀 오르락내리락 해야 합니다.
중간에 흔들다리에서 내려다보이는 전경도 좋습니다. 가을 단풍이 아름다울듯 합니다. 가족들과 땀흘리며 트랙킹하고 싶다면 한번 들러보세요.
애틀란타 방문할 일이 있어 간김에 주변 가까운 곳의 관광할 만한 곳을 찾다가 알게되었어요.
조지아주에 스모키 마운틴만 멋있는 곳인줄 알았는데 이런 곳도 있었다니… 갑자기 일정에 탈루야 계곡까지 추가로 넣어서 벅차긴 했지만 참 좋았습니다.
계단 무지 많은 것 미리 아셔야겠고요, 각오를 단단히 하고 천천히 쉬엄 쉬엄 내려가시면 기가막힌 풍경이 고생한 댓가를 보답해 줄것입니다 ^^
집에서 1시간 20분 남짓한 거리에 이렇게 아름다운 주립공원이 있었다니 그저 놀라울 따름이고, 앞으로 US23을 지날때마다 잠깐 이라도 들리고 싶은 주립공원.
정말 아름다워요 작은 설악의 느낌 직접 한번 느껴보세요...
조금 이르게 가서 단풍이 붉게 물들지 않았지만, 10월말 지나
11월에 가면 너무 좋을것같음.

Very beautiful location, but keep in mind that the hike back to the top is extremely steep and strenuous. They have a staircase to make the ground stable, but it still gives you a serious workout. Remember to fill up a water bottle to carry with you.

Nice falls at the bottom of the gorge. I didn’t count the steps but there must be at least 1k. Make sure you’re ready for the exit up.
Check out the overlooks on the parking lot side then travel down the steps to the bottom. No permit needed for that overlook either. Then travel back to the top on the other side. Check out those overlooks then continue to the vehicle bridge for the great view of the full gorge.

We had a pretty good walk on the trails overlooking the gorge. Perfect weather too. We did the North then the South Rim trails. We ended up going to the Hurricane trail which has a lot of steps. 😅 But it was all good. Took a lot of pretty pictures of the beautiful wild flowers. Keep hydrated!

This is actually a nice dan on Tallulah river, it has like 10 gates which were closed when we went there. The dam is right by the 441 highway and but you might not be able to spot it while driving. They have several adventures and attractions here. They also have several trails around the falls.

I visited Tallulah Falls, Georgia to stop at Tallulah Falls Gorge and walk the trail. I chose this location so that I could see five waterfalls at one location. It was the greatest decision ever!
I was surprised to come upon a site of the dam but Glory! It was absolutely wonderful and definitely a sight to see.
To see man's creation clocked in God's creation was truly magnificent.

June 18, 2025. If you want to go all the way down into the Gorge, you must get a permit. Unfortunately, it was closed the day we went. We did the north and south rim trial. There are over 1000 steps, so be prepared. In the heat, this is a long, hard walk. It is definitely worth walking if you are in the area. We would love to come back and get down in the Gorge.

Very nice experience. My husband, myself, 16 year old niece, and 6 year old daughter walked the north rim but didn't do the stairs or suspension bridge. The place was ridiculously crowded, so we felt rushed. They have a gift shop where they sell drinks and snacks. Picnic tables were limited at the museum-information area. We made sandwiches on our truck bed and ate in the sun. So that was disappointing. We planned to relax and eat. More tables are needed, in my opinion. The waterfalls are breathtaking and worth the walk. You can see the dam too from one overlook.

My family and I just went there and by luck, it was one of the weekends when they were releasing water from the dam. It was amazing, the difference of having been there Saturday late afternoon (when there hadn't been a release yet) and Sunday morning. I remember thinking, "the water sounds a LOT louder today" when first getting there Sunday 😄

If you are passing near Talullah Gorge State Park be sure to visit the nearby town of Talullah Falls. Not much of the town remains today however the General Store is not to be missed! It is housed in one of the only original surviving buildings and is well over 100 years old. Even many of the shelves and fixtures are original. It is an operating store and has a wonderful traditional appearance. An excellent mix of new, traditional and antique merchandise. I met the owner and she was very friendly and knowledgeable about the local history of the town. Be sure to take a break and step back in time with a visit to this amazing store. A Nehi soda and an ice cream treat will brighten any day.

My family and I last visited this area 29 years ago, and it's more stunning than I recall. Unfortunately, the old general store on the cliff had to be relocated due to the 2-story building falling into disrepair. Tallulah Gorge stretches two miles long and nearly 1,000 feet deep. Visitors can hike rim trails to several overlooks or obtain a permit to hike to the gorge floor. A suspension bridge sways 80 feet above the rocky bottom, offering breathtaking views of the river and waterfalls. There are several lookout areas around the park with secluded camp grounds available. We enjoyed the exhibits in the park's Jane Hurt Yarn Interpretive Center showplacing the rich history of this Victorian resort town. The displays were very interesting and educational. A gift shop offers snacks, jewelry, toys, books, walking sticks, clothing, and more. We also visited the relocated general store and purchased a few souvenirs. Tallulah Adventures and the Edge Cafe are a sure stop before leaving the area. A family with children will have a delightful lunch and can sit outside under a pavillion and watch the kids play various games, including rock climbing. There is an outdoor bar as well. We loved our day long visit and hope to return soon.

It’s pretty much 1/4 mile of ascending, but it was worth the view! We got to see people playing at Bridal Falls while we were looking down into the gorge. That was pretty cool! My toddlers completed the entire loop and both rim trails, so it’s not that bad of a hike. There are places to rest if you need to. What are you waiting for? Hike up to Inspiration Point!!

We really enjoyed our relaxing meal at The Edge while visiting Tallulah Gorge on a weekend! We tried the Duck Cuban & Italian Sandwich which were both really tasty. They have jalepeno queso chips as a side which were fire 🔥. There is a large outdoor covered sesting area as well as grassy area for activities, kids to run around, and gatherings.

There is a visitor center located inside the park and the trail to the overlooks is located right behind the visitor center. The park entrance will need a $5 admission fee per vehicle if you do not have one already for the day. There is plenty of parking area near the visitor center. The overlook to the waterfall is just around 0.2 miles walk from behind visitors center. One can get beautiful view of waterfalls and gorge from overlook#2 and #3. If you interested in more hiking you can use the 531 steps staircase to hurricane falls which is a strenuous hike especially when climbing back.

Bridal Veil was such a beautiful place to hike to and swim! It is an intense hike, since you will have to cross the river (slippery rocks), as well as go across some steep inclines.
If it's a weekend in the summer (when I went), try to arrive at the Interpretive Center before they open at 8, since they only provide 100 permits a day. You will receive your permit after the staff give instructions on how to hike the path to the falls safely. The heat has caused multiple rescues recently, so please be safe! They also close the gorge floor earlier on days when the heat index is high.
When you do get to the falls however, you can ride the river into the pool below, and it's so rewarding! They water feels great. They have a rope provided to help you climb back out when you're ready.
The hike back up to the Interpretive Center is very intense regardless of which route you take, so please have plenty of water and proper hiking boots. Always have someone know where you are (and thankfully, the gorge has good reception lol).
This hike is intense but so beautiful and rewarding. I do think this hike is best for experienced hikers, so make sure to stay safe and listen to the staff. They are great at what they do :)

Be prepared with lots of water and good shoes and clothes that can get wet since this hike requires crossing the River and hiking down the banks of the River with large slippery boulders. The hike is well worth it once you get to siding rock where you can swim. You can go black the way you came or adventure back across the River and up the side of the gorge about 1/4 mile with an 800 foot vertical rise. Pictures don't do this place justice. Come and visit, $5 easy parking, clean facilities and store. Bring good walking/trekking shoes or sneakers and light and comfortable clothes, and your bottle of water or Gatorade. From the visitor's center to the Falls it's a 10 minute walk. Truly loved the park. Multiple sites to access the creek within a half mile of the trail. Picnic tables, bathrooms and ample parking. Wasn’t too crowded, and very easy for two six year olds to have an absolute blast without worrying they’d fall in or get pulled away by any fast moving creeks. Will be returning!

It’s 3.5 miles to the waterfall itself, all downhill going there. The trail is heavily traveled and there are two water crossings with no bridges because of the flood. Anytime after noon you will see at least 50 groups of people. Even at 10 am the place is crowded. Very beautiful, but too many people to enjoy the nature side of it.
