Nice and comforting cafe right at Mararikulam beach.
I tried fish cutlets and egg noodles along with fresh juice and lemonade. Everything was full of taste and was prepared very well.
There is a small stream that runs next to the cafe that makes it even beautiful.
Seems to be run by a family. You will be served with a smile 😊
Cost of food is descent enough.
We paid Rs 600 for all above items.

Everything here is made to order and of good quality,they have a live kitchen so food is completely made from scratch once it's ordered, I had the chapathi and chicken curry along with a glass of lemonade, there was a bit of wait time but the food was worth the wait . The place is hygienic and well maintained. A bit pricy though.

Very nice place to have lunch near the beach: Indian food in a European style I called it, they have chicken nuggets for our 6 years daughter. Also greatest real coffee in Marari! Nice atmosphere and that is important for Marari- have its own toilet-washing room.

The “fresh” fish I got tasted frozen and was far too greasy. I couldn’t get any boiled vegetables, only raw. I asked if they had tea without caffeine and didn’t know what caffeine was. Very very bad experience ever seen. Before order, He the owner told we should wait for Half an hour. what We thought that is the food will delecious, so only being late. But they took nearly 45 minutes. Just I slept on the table. We ordered veriety rice items. (Veg, tomato, and dhall rice). But At last he came with plain parotta(rotti) in a plate without any side dish. Finally he came with very worst dhall curry, tomato rice, and veg rice. We simply left with bill paid without having lunch. Till the end of.dinner they not even put water on the table. It's true.
Final thing is very amazing. After paying bill for 1300, (actuay they won't cost 300 at least.) he asked the feedback "how the good food was and how to make it better. "

I was looking for an open restaurant at 11AM and I am glad this one was open.
A quiet and cosy restaurant close to the beach with tables under the trees and umbrellas. I had a greate half Tuna steak that was sea fresh, perfectly seasoned and it fulfilled very well my hunger.
The service was amical and professional in the same time.
A good place to have a quality meal.

This is an amazing place just by the beach on the sand - great vibe and good view of the sunset. The staff are friendly and the service is efficient. The food was very delicious - we had two veg rice, two veg curry, salad (amazing), two chapatis and two cold coffees and all came to just under rs700. I would recommend this place as best homely truly authentic kerala food.... chechi was very sweet and did accommodate our dinner request as we didn't have any proper dinner place near by.. though the place is not open for dinner, she was serving dinner for 3 days based on our request. Granma Hotel was THE BEST eating outlet in and around Mararikulam beach.
I visited this place after doing some research on google and it was such an amazing restaurant that I ended up visiting this place thrice in 3 days.
Finding this restaurant is not tricky at all. It is near Shreemahadev temple (roughly about 1.5 kms from Mararikulam beach). This restaurant is just 50 meters from a railway crossing. Since I honestly don’t have any cons about this place, I will just write the highlights:
1. Vegetarian Food was simply the BEST PART. It was fresh, delicious, home cooked and carried all local flavours. A vegetarian thali that included rice, rasam, curd, sambhar, beatroot pickle, coconut based veggies, popaddum and couple of other sides :)

2. Fish and Prawn masala - This was OMG taste for a non veg lover like myself. All above veggie thali inclusions will come with a bowl full of tuna or a local fish curry and plate of prawn masala. Simply DELICIOUS. I went twice to the restaurant to eat the same sea food. Make sure to visit the restaurant between 12:30 to 3:00 pm to enjoy above sea food.

What a place to eat, on the beach overlooking the Arabian Sea watching the sunset and enjoying the carefree beach life vibe. The waiters are all so welcoming, happy and friendly. The food is excellent, authentically presented and tastes superb. This little cafe beats our 5* hotel for food and service. We have eaten at Cafe Dolphin four times. Full disclosure: This review is more about poor service than food. We arrived around 18:00, I asked if the kitchen was open for dinner, to which I was told yes. We were the only people there, and we got sat under the strings of lights on the beach (very picturesque around dusk). We ordered our drinks and food reasonably promptly, 4 people in total, but didn't receive all our meals until 2 HOURS LATER! I was really hungry when I arrived, and at the 1.5 hour mark I told the guy (who seated us) I wanted to cancel my order because I needed to get to bed early for travel and didn't want to eat a large meal close to bed. He apologised for the delay, saying that the chef had some an appointment to attend (which he could have stated when we sat down), then continued to say I couldn't cancel because it would be ready within 10 minutes. Of course, it was another 30 minutes before the food came out. I was so annoyed with the situation that I wasn't focusing on the food by the time it arrived, but my companions said their meals were pretty good. I don't know if the chef was late to work and the guy was making excuses, or if something had really come up, but I would have preferred some honestly that things might take a while, and we should expect to wait a bit. Please be more upfront with your customers in the future. Expectation management goes a long way.

A beautiful small shack looked very inviting as we walked straight by the Marari Beach after a fun morning at the beach. We had ordered one plate of Pomfret and one plate of French Fries because we wanted to eat light. Little did we know that the one plate of fish we ordered came with one bowl of rice, one bowl of gravy, a beetroot side dish and papad (which was a pleasant surprise).
The food was homely and tasted really good. Everything was clean and freshly prepared. They even served us some fresh orange segments at the end which was a really nice touch to the beautiful experience. All in all our tummies were full and we had only spent a few bucks. A real value for money

A beautiful white sand beach with lots of coconut trees around. It looks even more beautiful and soothing during the sunset and early morning sunrise. Good for weekend getaways where we could spend some quality time with friends and family. There are small restaurants nearby where we can get good sea food.

We were invited at the beach to come for lunch. We ended up spending all our 3 days at this place ! Nothing beats the kindness of the 2 brothers and the expertise of their cook. This restaurant is definitely different to the usual ones available in the area. Those either caters to tourists or something which caters to the local crowd . This restaurant which is run by a society ( PDDP ) kind of tries to find the middle ground.
This is one of the few a/c restaurants in the area. Even though the ambience reminds you of some star rated restaurants the value for money offered here is comparable to some small family owned restaurants. Staff here are well trained and they manage the food service and cleaning efficiently. Since this is ran by a dairy society they do have their products available for purchase here , which I think adds to the value proposition of this restaurant overall .
Food here is tasty and the quantity is also good . They serve one of the best, if not the best beef fries in the area for sure ( Even if they tell you it will take some time to make go ahead and order it . It is definitely worth the wait ) . Fish curry meals is something I recommend everyone should try . All the side dishes are tasty and doesn't look like an after thought. They do serve things like Erachi choru and Biriyani also .But I didn't get a chance to try that .
One complaint I have is that they say some of the dishes like Erachi choru got over even at 1 pm on a Saturday. I guess they are not adequately prepared for the rush owing to the whole covid19 situation.
There are plenty of parking slots available so this should be an easy choice for those who are travelling through the national highway.

Ordered Karimeen, excellent. Fresh lime soda was little sweet despite ordering it to be sweet and salty. First thing you'll notice is,it's clean, furniture is well placed. This is one of the good restaurants I visited. The Staff is very friendly and polite. The food is also good. The rates are very reasonable comparing to other restaurants in this class, though its a bit higher comparing to normal restaurants.
The ambiance is good and there is no similar class of restaurants in this area. They have managed to arrange a kids area in a corner which definitely an attraction for kids. They are also selling their own dairy related products like ice-creams, paneer etc. These are quality products as they run the PDDP milk societies hence products on pure milk are their specialty. We were pleasantly surprised by this quality food with a friendly, young waiter.
The restaurant is ON THE BEACH, but it's part of marari tree of life resort. You can walk down the beach (I've edited the location as of late December 2019 to show the exact spot) or you can go in the main gate of the resort which is very hard to find in the dark (walking). The food is much pricier than normal Indian fare but very reasonable for European standards.
I've attached photos of the menu, yes there is an 18% tax added to the bill.
