Walking past the Beatles statue towards a white concrete slab wasn’t my idea of a Chinese restaurant, however, having tried a few in Liverpool Chinatown an area in which the establishments gone from good to average to very disappointing, I was willing to give it a try. I am so pleased that I did for two reasons. The first and the most important was the food more of which later. The second was the view of the Mersey which for me. I used to go all the way to Southport for a decent Thai restaurant, but now I've tried Nannapat's in Maghull, I'll save myself the forty minutes of driving. What a fabulous little Pad Thai I had for lunch, and what a brilliant little lunch menu they have as well. Always so friendly and helpful (her sister Kate once cured my frozen shoulder with some good old fashioned deep tissue therapy), so it's a talented, hard working family, full of joy and traditional beautiful Thai smiles. Nannapat really goes out of her way to make sure you get exactly what you ask for (unlike some others who overdo the spices). The service and atmosphere was wonderful, genuine and authentic. Only problem is, it's re-awoken my love for Thai culture, and their chicken satay 😉 Should I head back towards Koh Samui? Or spend more lunchtimes in Nannapat's?
