Water & Amusement Parks
Labyrinth Park in Hersonissos is a Greek mythology-themed park that offers a variety of attractions for visitors of all ages. The park is inspired by Crete's Minoan heritage and features a 1300-square-meter three-dimensional labyrinth as its focal point. In addition to the labyrinth, the park also offers activities such as high-tech laser maze, horse riding, archery, mini-golf, pottery workshop, eco-garden, and a towering Trojan horse.
Great getaway for the kids!! We were greeted by a welcoming staff member, explained how everything works, prices, options, and location of everything. Although I thought the cost to get in was high, you get to go through the labyrinth and 18 hole mini golf as a part of the entrance fee. The labyrinth was fun to discover through, finding the Minotaur in the middle. The Greek god history was a nice teaching touch. The 18 hole mini golf was good, and best of all it was mostly covered from the ☀️!!! You make the rest of the day as to what you want to do. We did the laser maze (located inside the Trojan horse), kids loved it. The have some animals on premise, go carts for even younger kids, archery, a toddler maze, and other stuff. Overall it was a fun experience if you want a few hours of entertainment with the kids.

Great experience! Every guest is welcome personally and very politely. The guide speaks fluently various languages and explains all the attractions and sites. I really enjoyed the labyrinth, underworld (mirror maze) and laser maze. There is a lot of information on the greek myths for those interested. The arts from a local artist was also very interesting to see. In total I had a good time. By the way, there are plenty activities for family and kids.

Great park for all family. Arrived early morning (10am opening time). Lots of activities. Most of them are not for free. Be prepare to spend another 20€ or more (that gives you 10 tokens). 1 token for 1 activity. Very engaging, as rewards and diploma is given after labyrinth and each activity. There are some animals see or ride the donkey. Overall, fun few hours.
Lauryna B — Google review
Nice park with a lot of attractions. We came here with our 11month old son and we knew we probably won’t have much to do. But still, we made through the maze and got the diploma 😄. First diploma for him! He has just learned to walk so it was fun for him too, because we took too many wrong turns and had to walk a lot in the maze. (Doable with lightweight stroller, had to carry up and down the stairs couple of times) There were couple of animals: goats, ponies, donkeys, chikens and roosters which were hit for our boy. Other fun activities were mini golf, archery and pottery. The place looked beautiful. Definitely recommend for 2+ ages.
Liisi L — Google review
The maze park is really great made for children. Large play areas and even lanes where kids can ride the quad. You can also shoot arrows and pottery. Many different offers! There is also a restaurant to eat in between. Really recommend.
Nae B — Google review
I recommend calling in advance because sometimes the park has school excursions and there can be hundreds of children in the park all at once. Luckily, we called in advance and the staff recommended we visit on Friday or Sunday because they were expecting 300 kids that Saturday. We were able to arrange our schedule and visit on Friday which was perfect. The park is clean, it has a very nice atmosphere and there is something for young and old to enjoy. Our favorite activities were the laser maze, four wheeler rides and the escape room. This is definitely a fun place for kids ages 6-10.
BozenkaBetty — Google review
We have certainly adored this place! It is a must see for the families. Of course, it costs some money, especially for additional services. But everything there is so nice and joyful! It is fun for different ages and for various tastes. You could easily pay by card everywhere, park your car closely, and even get back to Atlandida Escape room (within one day time). So, just plan at least half a day for this wonderful place!
Natalia R — Google review
We looked for something to do outside the hotel of Creta maris, a family with 3 kids, 8,6,2. It was a 9 min ride in taxi (17 euros on taxi). This is a great place for 2-3 hours activity. We visited the maze, learned about Crete colture, played mini golf, laser maze, donkey ride, tiny cars. The kids had a lot of fun! The staff is really nice! The kids got a diploma for passing the maze and they were super excited. 10 euros for adult ticket and 6 for the kids. Other activities beside the maze are 3 euros each (3+1). Worth it! Highly recommend. There is a shortage of shadowing, so bring a hat and sunscreen. There is also a cafeteria. It is not possible to catch a taxi back, but the great staff called a taxi for us. Thank you!!

Church
Agios Nikolaos Church stands as a stunning reminder of the Turkish era, characterized by its dusky-pink exterior and multiple domes. Nestled on the eastern side of the Venetian Harbour, this charming church offers a picturesque view from its coastal location. While access is restricted due to a locked gate and rusty wire fence, visitors can still enjoy a lovely stroll along the seafront to admire its beauty from afar.

Aquaworld Aquarium & Reptile Rescue Centre is a unique and intimate attraction located in Hersonissos, Crete. It stands out as one of only three aquariums in Greece and offers a change of pace from the island's historic ruins and breathtaking landscapes. The facility is home to a variety of sea creatures and reptiles, many of which have been rescued and rehabilitated or are unwanted pets.
Small but very interesting place with a lot of interesting animals, including a beautiful sea turtle (a blind rescue) and axolotls :) Several animals were free to wonder around and we could pat them. The staff were pleasant and full of knowledge. Great way to support rescue efforts. :)
Lenka R — Google review
We visited the aquarium and rescue center during our trip to Crete. The aquarium is very well organized, with a great variety of marine life, from colorful fish, turtles to reptiles. It's both fun and educational – perfect for families, but also interesting for adults. The rescue center part was especially touching. It’s inspiring to see how much effort goes into rescuing and rehabilitating injured turtles. The staff is passionate and knowledgeable, and they were happy to answer all our questions. It's heartwarming to see these beautiful creatures being cared for so well. Highly recommend visiting – it's a great way to learn, support a good cause, and enjoy the beauty of marine life!
Bogdan D — Google review
Lovely little place run by people who enjoy their job and are good at their job. Very interactive with being able to touch and hold some of the animals. Is a small place, only took around 30 minutes to look around and interact with animals. Did not cost much to enter 10 euros which we payed for at the door, was no waiting time to enter. Although I understand this is a rescue centre they do have some long term wildlife in the facility that will not be reintroduced into nature I feel the vivariums/ tanks could be bigger and more engaging for the animals. In particular a few lizard tanks looked over crowded and some animals in small tanks. Including a very large fish which only had minimal movement.
Amy C — Google review
Well worth a visit. Got to see the sea turtle and octopus being fed as well as listening to detailed history of all the amazing creatures on show. You can hold various reptiles if you are brave enough. The best thing about this place is the fact it is supporting the local ecology, is not owned by a bif corporate entity and is a labour of love. Any money you spend here directly goes to the looking after of the animals and funds future expansion.
Martin A — Google review
What a wonderful little place! Please visit and keep this place in business, they are worth it. The conservation work they do is great.. the aquarium part is really good, but the best part really, is the reptile section. I will not spoil anything for you as the surprise is much better witnessed in person with no warning (its not scary, don't worry). If I can, I will be back for another visit.
Jay B — Google review
Wow wow and wow, we absolutely loved it here. You can tell as soon as you walk in that they love what they do all the animals are well looked after and there fact you get to get up and close to the reptiles. Definitely worth the visit you will not be disappointed. It's a great place to visit.
Louise — Google review
Very small aquarium/terrarium in a flat and yard. To avoid the place getting too crowded they let visitors in slowly and when previous visitors exit. This means a line forms. We waited over 30 minutes in line for what is essentially a 30 minutes visit. It is a nice little place if you don’t mind most fish and reptiles being held in small aquariums with little to no shelter. There are lots of general info posters about ocean life scattered around but not a lot of specific info on the animals in each aquarium beyond their names. The yard with the free-roaming tortoises and lizards is the highlight of course, but is rather crowded. Looks like the animals are used to nudging their way between the visitors. The staff in the yard are friendly and jovial. If you are here and can find a time without a line in the entrance then the place is worth a visit.
Naveh L — Google review
What to say about this amazing place. We first visited back on our first trip to crete possibly 2012! And we come every year since. The place is just great. They take care of the animals. They are so clean and so well looked after. The gent who owns it is just well a gent and his staff are so knowledgeable and friendly. We look forward to it every trip and is the first thing we book, we now bring our child who has also found a love for this amazing place. Thankyou as always

Water & Amusement Parks
Theme Parks
Acqua Plus is a massive water park located near Hersonissos, Crete, offering over 50 attractions for visitors of all ages. Divided into sections for adults and children, the park features an array of exhilarating water slides such as Tsunami, Crazy River, Kamikaze, and Spacebowl. Additionally, it provides safe areas for kids to play and relax. The park also offers amenities like bars and restaurants where guests can grab refreshments or a bite to eat.
Thrills, Chills & Good Vibes! We had a great day out at this water park, which genuinely has something for everyone — from gentle slides perfect for kids to stomach-dropping vertical slides for the brave! We visited on a Sunday, and the park was fairly quiet, which meant no queues — a huge bonus. The park itself does look a little dated at first glance, but it’s well-maintained overall and packed with fun. Set in a valley, expect a bit of uphill walking between attractions. Some paths were quite slippery, so wet shoes are highly recommended for safety. The wristband payment system is super convenient — everything from food to lockers gets scanned to your band, and you just settle up at the exit. Facilities are solid: • A large restaurant menu • Plenty of toilets and showers • And a huge central swimming pool to cool off between slides One thing to note: No outside food or drink is allowed, but enforcement seemed pretty relaxed — we saw many people bringing their own snacks without issue. Overall: A fun-filled, hassle-free day with variety, convenience, and plenty of thrills. Whether you’re sliding with little ones or braving the big drops, it’s a great spot for all ages!
Simon B — Google review
Really good water park, didn’t have to wait in line for long. Food was good. Sliders were amazing. Lost my glasses on one of the rides as had nowhere to put them and a lovely worker stopped the whole ride to find them. Ps.I got them back. Overall great experience.
Courtney B — Google review
It was a fun park, clean and with good play and slide options for adults and kids. You can have locker and there are enough sunbeds (included). If you are booking online you can safe up to 5 €. The slides (without swimming tires) are hurting a little the skin because of the gaps. The food was okay.
Erika L — Google review
Fun water park for the whole family. We were there in shoulder season so there were very few people there which was good and bad. Because of the low attendance, the staff began shutting down some rides early in the day just as I was about to go on them. Otherwise, the rides were very fun, the layout of the park is nice, the food was good, and the facilities were very clean.
Jack W — Google review
Great water park. The other reviews are right, it does appear dated but I can’t agree that it was dirty. We found the water to be very clear and clean. The only ‘dirt’ was some leaves from the nearby trees. We only accessed the children’s area so cannot speak about the bug flumes but none of the kids slides were sharp or scratched our backs. Lockers were easy to use and centrally located (small locker is very small bit the biggest was 4.5€ and easily big enough for 3 backpacks) Toilets and showers were spotlessly clean and not too busy. In fact the whole place was not too busy. There were lots of people about but because of the size of the park, there was never any difficulty finding a seat, sunbed or getting onto a slide The food was quite pricy and not very good, for me this was the main downside and I wish we had brought food with us Overall a good fun day out, prices are fair for how much there is to do. I don’t feel that I got the full value out of an adult ticket as i was alone with a child and so could only stay in the child area but if you are an adult who can go on everything, the prices are reasonable
Hannah V — Google review
A decent selection of slides, not the best water park I’ve been to but not the worst. Good value for what it is… we spent about 3 hours there getting round a few runs in each with no q’s
Al H — Google review
We enjoyed a great day there. Slides are wonderful, also the team there very nice. And look at this beautiful tree with the "eyes"
ליאת י — Google review
They told us it was the best water park on Crete. Well... If it really was THE BEST, then the rest of them are really shitty. Cause this one was OK, but nothing more. Old enough, not well looked after, some of the slides are not working, the condition of the others was mostly poor. But, actually, that's not the reason why I gave it 3 stars. The real reason is - THEY WILL CHARGE YOU LITERALLY FOR ANYTHING!!! This is the only water park I've ever been to which charged us for LOCKERS and SLIDES!!! Ya, you got me right - we paid money for lockers and slides. That's ridiculous 🤡🤡🤡 Even though we got bad experience cause of poor condition of the water park and greedy owner - eventually we got some good experience here as well, especially on "Crazy river" slide

Lychnostatis Open Air Museum is a family-operated museum located on the eastern edge of Hersonissos, Crete. It offers a glimpse into traditional Cretan village life with authentic dwellings and workshops, including a windmill, farmer's house, weaving workshops, ceramics demonstrations, orchards, herb gardens, and a theater for music and dance performances. Founded by Dr.
This museum is amazing. So interesting to learn about Cretan culture, heritage and old way of life. Lucky to have a tour with the founder's granddaughter who was informative and interesting. We went on a Wednesday so we experienced the grape feast and the fabulous dancing and food and drinks. All of the staff were great and the dancers were awesome. We would recommend this to all visitors to Crete and would return again.
Beccy E — Google review
Lovely small museum with small buildings and plants showing Cretan life. We went without a audio guide or tour, so used the map to identify buildings and occasionally a translation app to understand writing inside buildings. There are really no signs around so this wasn't the best plan but still spent about 45-50 minutes, including the eight minute introduction video. It wasn't very busy when there (July Sunday around 10:30) though other visitors were scattered about. Toilets and small cafe available - cafe seemed to have a few drink options, maybe a few mains snacks, and seats. Parking in a dirt shoulder/layby just outside the entrance was fine, held around a dozen cars and a few spots were free when we arrived. Note: photos generally in map order
Becky T — Google review
We found this place beautiful, quiet and charming. It backs onto its own (paying) beach which can be entered from the museum - or vice versa. The little cafe in the museum serves both. The museum is one of village methods and life. Most of the stone is old, from ruined local buildings, rebuilt as representative of the usage. A child will like peeking at odd things, by the way - but not for too long!
Mike S — Google review
Beautiful site, quite large, free to wander around, gates open out onto a beach and the sea. Drinks available, (licensed for spirits too) and small gift shop within cafe. Staff are lovely and friendly, honestly well worth a visit. Inexpensive too.

A very interesting museum. It also has a beautiful beach, great for snorkeling, very relaxing spot, not very crowded, with decent space between sunbeds, 7 euros a set (2 sunbeds+umbrela). They also have a restaurant and very nice staff. Ps: if you are a coffee lover get the frappe with ice-cream,it's to die for and the food is good (with decent prices; a greek salat is less than 7 euros). I will come back to this location for sure.

A small museum of traditional Cretan life and historical agriculture and artisanal occupations. Overall a nice folk museum. Mostly outdoors but with plenty of shade.

A lovely museum and a perfect way to while away a morning. We took our kids (6 and 3) and they loved running around and exploring, there was plenty to keep all ages interested. Friendly staff and beautiful exhibits (and delightfully friendly cats!), it’s a wholehearted recommendation from me.

Found this place by using Google maps to see what was in the area. It took us 30 mins to walk to here from where we stayed, and it was well worth the walk. Interesting to see how it was all made and from what materials. Finished off with a lovely cold cinnamon water.

Watercity Waterpark in Crete, Greece offers a classic water park experience with its array of slides, wave pool, children's pools, and jacuzzi. While Greece is known for its beautiful beaches and clear waters, a visit to this waterpark can be just as thrilling for families. The park has received the 2020 Travellers Choice Award from Trip Advisor and is located in Anopolis between Heraklion and Hersonissos.
Great place where you can spend a whole day in an interesting way. The staff is very friendly and cares about the safety of guests. The waterpark offers a lot of attractions, both for kids and adults; there are different water slides varying in the level of difficulty. If you are tired, you can easily find a place to relax; there are a lot of sunbeds and umbrellas that can be used for free. Moreover, there are restaurants and bars that offer a wide selection of different dishes (pizza, burgers, pasta, etc.) and drinks at affordable prices. I recommend buying tickets online in advance, because it is cheaper.

We had an amazing time the whole family for two days in a row. Customer service in all areas was excellent, the lockers, the restrooms were clean and easy to use.All the staff was exceptional & polite. The photographers gave us unique & fun shots to keep them a lifetime! Great place to visit

Great day out for a couple. Arrived approx 10:15am. Staff very friendly and food wasn't too expensive. Had a double burger for €5.50 Use a bar code on wrist and pay on exit. Loads of free parking. Well worth the price. Recommend you visit if looking for a water park in Crete.

We had such a lovely and fun day at Watercity! The waterslides were super entertaining and offered just the right mix of excitement and variety. Food and drinks were also surprisingly good – and reasonably priced, which was a nice bonus. All in all, a great place to spend the day with family. Whether you’re looking for a relaxing time or a bit of adrenaline from the slides, Watercity has something for everyone. Definitely recommended! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

ANAZING! honestly, no other words to describe this place! The rides, the food, the atmosphere & not to mention the views you get on the way there & what you can see in the restaurant area. Greeted by photographers when you arrive, they take a fair few pictures while your at the park (be mindful it can be VERY expensive to purchase these pictures.) But heavily recommend visiting this water park.

Lovely visit, not loads of rides but for someone who likes to do a few and chill on lazy river of jump of the diving board I really enjoyed it. The stage where lovely and the food not big portions but when your in and out of the pool you don’t want a big meal. Went with 20,18 year olds and they had good fun too.

After visiting several watermarks in Australia we were surprised at how awesome this one was. Loved the no cash just bands concept. Queues were short so you could go on a lot of slides whilst there. It was clean and the food was good too. Great to have a locker for the day as well. Definitely recommend this park!

We came early, 10:30am - was pretty empty. Our kids aged 5-7 enjoyed immensely and didn’t want to leave. The food is mediocre, but eventually it was 66 eur for 2 parents and 1 kid, and about 40 eur for food. All in all - great experience and day in Crete

Analipsi Beach is a serene coastal spot in Crete, Greece. It offers a relaxed atmosphere with palm trees and a quaint waterfront chapel. The beach is ideal for swimming and water sports, and visitors can enjoy the colorful gardens surrounding the 2 swimming pools at Stella Village, located just 30 feet from the private beach. Analipsi's sunset is particularly stunning, casting mesmerizing colors as the sun fades into the sea.
Most people claim the sunset of Ia in Santorini is the best Greek sunset. Although I admit Ia's sunset is indeed beautiful, I have to say that the sunset in the beach of Analipsi in Chersonissos in Crete is far superior! The colors of the sun as it fades into the sea are mesmerizing, to say the least. The beach is nice, mostly for a walk or sunbathing, as the waters are not bad, but by no means crystal. It's sunset is perfect though and the cafes and restaurants enhance the sunset experience.

Beautiful beach with crystal waters and soft sands, selection of rock pools where you can see the fish! Little works of arts along the coast. Full of hotel resorts and hire car companies! You can also find excursion huts!

The beach has too many rocks. If u re not a fan, don't go here. Also the better parts of the beach is "claimed" by the hotels on the beach where u cant even rent the sunbeds with money, would not go here again

The Roman Fountain, a pyramid-shaped historical landmark, features mosaics depicting fishing scenes and is believed to date back to the Roman era. Despite some faded and chipped mosaics on three sides of the fountain, one side clearly showcases fish, octopus, squid, and divers. There is a tastefully designed fence around the fountain for protection.
For me it is 5 Star, to see built thousands of years ago and still there for us now, wow.
Adam — Google review
Really beautiful fountain. It is so special to be able to see something that is much older than even most of the trees I have seen. The mosaics on three sides of the fountain are chipped and faded beyond recognition, but on the fourth side you can clearly see the fish, octopus, squid, and even divers. There is a fence around the fountain to protect it, but the fence was done tastefully and I felt it added to the overall look of the fountain, rather than detracting from it. It is a quick stop, right in the middle of a street filled with restaurants, shops, and tourism guides. Be careful when you stop here as it is on a road used by vehicles and the spacw is very narrow.
Leigh J — Google review
A lot of detail still visible, located outside some shops.
Sam S — Google review
It doesn’t work. It was like a normal big rock in the street. You can easily get past it and don’t see it because it’s so uninteresting

This is a great place to eat and watch the world go by. We had a lovely lunch there and were well looked after by the young waitress. Super comfortable sofas, with a modern, relaxed feel and absolutely immaculate. Really nice bathroom too!

Interesting museum, not very big but would recommend. Tickets can be bought at the door for €5 for adults and €3.50 for children.

We visited the museum this morning and what a lovely place!! It has a lot of original features and very interesting items inside!! There was lovely little courtyard at the beginning and the receptionist/guide came out to greet us. She was very friendly and helpful when we asked questions about the museum!! There were english translations on the information boards throughout the museum. Small entrance fee of 5 euros per person, in my opinion it was worth the small fee to learn about the history in the local area!!

Tranquil, modestly sized yet insightful glimpse into Cretan industry and history, particularly around olive oil production and weaving. It was well worth the few euros for entry to see how this intensely creatively and physically demanding work was interwoven (pun intended!) into the family and political culture of the island. The significant role played by women historically stood out to me, as they would create their own dowry and infuse their personality and beliefs into home decorations and practical materials alike. To be even more pretentious, the figures seem almost post-modern in a Keith Haring sort of style, and the fine detailing of the crochet work and tasseling was unbelievable, considering the time and resources available. Very quiet, quite small, but you'll be happy you went if this description and the photos don't put you off!

Super interesting museum of rural life. Excellent experience. A small place that will take maybe 90 minutes
Mash A — Google review
What a lovely little place! Shows some of the historic ways Crete people lived, simply amazing and informative, I personally loved every second inside! (I even geeked over the doors! Original and over a century old!!) It isn't a full day, but definitely worth an hour or two, price is reflecting this, absolute bargain! Would recommend to anyone who loves historical information. Thank you so much!
Dax G — Google review
Really disappointed. We arrived on a Sunday and walked all the way up from Hersonissos to find that the museum was closed and they haven't updated the times on Google. There was a sign on the door with the opening times instead. Such a shame as this is the biggest attraction in Palipianos and we didn't get to see it.
Emz T — Google review
A place where the travellers meet the tradition and the roots of the authentic Creta! Defenetely worth a visit !

Beach
Sarantari Beach is located near Hersonissos, between the Creta Maris Hotel and the Hersonissos Maris Hotel. It's known for being a popular nudist beach and is considered one of the most crowded gay-friendly beaches in Crete. The beach offers good services, including shops, restaurants, tour guides, and rentals for cars, quad bikes, and buggies. The water is crystal clear and great for swimming.
It is a great municipal beach and very crowded. The pictures are taken in the early morning and late evening. During day time it would be a different place and story. If you are ok with crowds, you should definitely check it. There is infrastructure for a comfortable stay: outdoor toilet, beach bar, shower and sun beds for rent.
Ana Ț — Google review
Small but very nice beach, with a full infrastructure: sunbeds, shower, toilets, cantina, etc. The water in this place is very clear; instead of regular sand, there are small white rocks, but you can walk on bare foot without any problems; in some parts of the beach, there are big rocks in the water, but again, it was not a problem. The price for a set of 2 sunbeds and an umbrella is 12 euros for a half day (4 hours) or 24 euros for a whole day.
Paweł P — Google review
Lovely small beach that is sheltered from the wind. There is a paved path to the beach with some steps, that is somewhat steep for people with limited mobility, but still doable. The water is clear and there are small pebbles as you enter the water and the rest is sand. There is a person that rents umbrellas but we didn't use this and unsure how much it costs. Away from the crowds. Fairly easy to find parking nearby.
Iva F — Google review
Beautiful beach with good entry into the sea. Crystal clear water. We had no problems with the parking space, we arrived before 10:00 in the morning and after 17:00 in the evening. We swam also with masks, but the animals of the underwater world are quite poor here. However we recommend masks, just enjoy the crystal clear water and of course we recommend the beach.
I' L — Google review
This beach is absolutely amazing! We were there nearly everyday, the water is clean and on a nice day when the sea is quiet you can do some snorkeling and admire the fishes. A note to add, the beach is very busy in season and it sometimes tough to find any sun beds so if you like one arrive a bit earlier I felt like after 12pm it was very hard to get a sun bed, Same goes with parking, the road to the beach is very narrow and it’s hard to find a space to park there, there is a parking but only for hotel guest that is round the corner. There is a cafe on the corner where you can have a meal and a drink. I feel like it is a perfect spot ✨
Aleksandra S — Google review
Really beautiful place for enjoy summer:) Clear water with sand, quiet place. Very near you can found small restaurant for lunch or something to drink:) I recommend this place
Wiktor H — Google review
Small clean beach with sunbeds available. Small shop across the road selling some food and liquids. Can be difficult to find parking.
Gary S — Google review
The Sea water is really transparent, the beach itself is narrow, very narrow. There are few bays, all of them are quite easily accessible. In the Sea there are stones and rocks, so it's better to wear rock shoes to not harm your feet. In my opinion it's the most beautiful Sea beach I have seen in the area of Hersonissos.

Aposelemi Beach, nestled in the charming area of Analipsi, is a delightful escape for beach lovers seeking tranquility. This stunning stretch of coastline boasts refined grey sand and crystal-clear greenish waters, making it an inviting spot to unwind. While the beach can be a bit tricky for children to access due to rocky areas, its vastness ensures that you can find your own little slice of paradise.
Lovely beach. Nice and relaxing. Beautiful sunsets.
Kirsty D — Google review
Wild beach but also sunchairs from the Thallasea beach restaurant, where I do not recommend you eat, the food tasted weird and was not properly cooked. The beach is nice though, rocky sea entrance, great views.
Alice D — Google review
Smooth sand, tame sea, a variety of seats available at different prices. Very hospitable locals.
Kassandra O — Google review
Very beautiful and relatively empty sandy beach. Unfortunately, there are only a few trees that provide shade. 6 € for two beach chairs and an umbrella are a bit expensive.
Niels H — Google review
The beach is ok but we expected more. From the Photos is very nice but the sea is full of rocks and sand. If you have a drive there you can stop for 1 2h but that s really all.
Patrik R — Google review
I just love this beach. Quiet, clean though a bit tricky to get into the water, especially for kids but it is huge, you would find a spot. The colourful sun loungers belong to one chap, the others to the chap who runs the restaurant. It has happened that the guy with the happy sun loungers leaves early and if you then need the loo, the restaurant is none too happy if you go over there. So time your biological break carefully! Other than that, glorious!
Britta M — Google review
Not nice, bad smell because there is a weird small dirty lake behind the beach(dirty=used bottles, urine, fecal). A bit rocky, just enough to make you uncomfortable. There is nothing really there, some shops at the ends.
Tamara — Google review
Very beautiful place. Quite clean sand and not many people around, so worth to visit and stay longer.

Wildlife refuge
Nestled near the Europa Beach Hotel and the American Base, Aposelemis Wildlife Refuge is a hidden gem that offers a serene escape for nature lovers. While it may not be as crowded as other beaches in Analipsi, this tranquil spot is perfect for those seeking to connect with wildlife. Visitors often have the chance to catch glimpses of turtles, ducks, and various bird species in their natural habitat.
A beautiful piece of nature where you can spot turtles and where animals live in peace.
Alexander N — Google review
Our visit to the Aposelemis Wildlife Refuge in Crete was a pleasant surprise. At the end of the road, you'll find a small nature reserve, providing a peaceful oasis. There are ducks and an impressive number of freshwater turtles, which our child particularly enjoyed. Right next to the nature reserve is a beautiful, quiet beach that is refreshingly uncrowded. The natural surroundings are pristine and offer a relaxing atmosphere, perfect for a peaceful day by the sea. It's important not to set your expectations too high. The Aposelemis Wildlife Refuge is small and simple. Nonetheless, we found it charming and enjoyed our time there. Our tip: It might not be worth going out of your way to visit this spot alone, but if you are nearby, it's definitely worth stopping by.
Uwe A — Google review
Saw some ducks. But this is ultimately a small pond with ducks at the end of a dead end road, next to the beach. There are apparently turtles but I saw more at turtle point. There is no building, toilet or facilities here. Small shop with ice creams nearby. Fine if your nearby, but don't go out of your way to visit though.
Ciara — Google review
It’s a small pond but serves as a good protection for ducks. If you are nearby then it’s worth to visit this idyllic place.
W L — Google review
This is definitely something to feel one of your evenings if you are looking for something local take some bread and feed the Ducks. Beaches also a nice Beach although there is lots of litter mixed among the sand. Be aware broken glass in the sand.
Jason R — Google review
A lovely place with ducks, birds and turtles, although we were not able to see them, since they were situated upstream probably.
Jakub K — Google review
Popped here and stayed about 20mins. Turtles fairly small but if you are in the area you could visit briefly
Sheridan W — Google review
We come here to see the turtle but non to be seen the birds are very friendly and will get up to you close if you have any sweetcorn or something they would eat worth giving them some food the beach there is also amazing great views nice and warm sea water
