Narikala is a picturesque ancient fortress in Tbilisi, with origins dating back to the 4th century. The name Narikala is believed to have Persian or Mongolian roots, signifying its historical significance. Originally built by Persians and later expanded by Arabs, the fortress suffered damage from an earthquake in 1827 but was restored in 1996.
One of the best views in Tbilisi! Narikala Fortress is old and beautiful. You can see the whole city from the top. The walk is a little hard, but the view is 100% worth it. A peaceful place with history and great spots for photos. No entrance fee, max you need to wait up to 10 min for cable cars 🚠, but also you can reach there by walking 🚶‍♀️
Leyla G — Google review
I took the cable car all the way up, enjoying the beautiful view along the way. From the top, you can see all of Tbilisi — it’s absolutely breathtaking. On the way back, I decided to walk instead of taking the cable car. The map showed a path through the forest, surrounded by trees, but I ended up taking the car route cuz I was afraid will be lost in the middle of the trees . It felt like walking along a highway with no pedestrian lane, and it took me hours to get back to the city! Still, it turned out to be an unforgettable experience — the scenery was amazing, and I’m glad I did it.

We had a wonderful city tour of Tbilisi! We began in Old Tbilisi, starting at Metekhi, which offers a beautiful view of Meidan Square. Then we walked across the stunning Bridge of Peace connecting the old town to Rike Park. The Clock Tower was a charming stop — it’s amazing to see the little angel come out every hour to ring the bell. From there, we strolled along Shardeni Street — a must-visit spot for anyone coming to Georgia. We then took the cable car up to Narikala Fortress and continued to the iconic statue of Mother of Georgia. After that, we explored Abanotubani and its famous sulfur baths. Finally, we drove to Mtatsminda Park, the perfect place to relax and enjoy the fun atmosphere. The view of the city from there, especially near the TV Tower, is simply breathtaking. A truly memorable day in Tbilisi!

I think panoramic view of old Tbilisi much better from here than Mtazminda but this is the longest restoration project I've ever seen. I'm 55 years old, and it's been going on for about that long amazing)))

1. 🏰 Old soul of Tbilisi - Narikala is one of the oldest landmarks in the city, watching over Tbilisi since the 4th century. You feel history in every stone. 2. 🌄 Best views in town - From the top, you get a full panorama of the city, the river, and the rooftops. Sunset here is unforgettable. 3. 🚶‍♂️ Short hike, big reward - You can walk up from the Old town . The path is steep but worth it. 4. 📸 Photo heaven - Every angle offers a great shot: fortress walls, city views, and the giant Mother of Georgia statue nearby. 5. 🧘‍♀️ Peaceful vibe - Even with tourists around, it feels calm. Great spot to sit, breathe, and take in the view. 6. 🕍 Church inside - There’s a small church inside the fortress with beautiful frescoes. Respectful dress recommended. 7. 🧗‍♀️ Watch your step - Some parts are uneven or slippery. Wear good shoes and be careful, especially with kids. 8. 🕰️ No tickets, always open - It’s free to visit and open all day. Early morning or late afternoon is best. 9. 🍃 Nature meets history - Wildflowers, birds, and old stones mix together. A perfect blend of nature and culture. 10. 💡 Local tip - Bring water, wear sunscreen, and take your time. It’s not just a fortress - it’s a feeling.

Nice historical fortress currently under restoration. According to the legend, it was built by the king Vakhtang I Gorgasali. However, The earliest written accounts of settlement of the location come from the second half of the 4th century AD, when a fortress was built during King Varaz-Bakur's reign. Towards the end of the 4th century, the fortress fell into the hands of the Persians, but was recaptured by the kings of Kartli by the middle of the 5th century. It was considerably expanded by the Umayyads in the 7th century and by king David the Builder, respectively. The Mongols renamed it the "Narin Qala" (Little Fortress). Most of the extant fortifications date from the 16th and 17th centuries. Rostom, the Safavid-appointed vali of Kartli, fortified the surroundings of the fortress and transferred control of the fortress to the Iranians.
Abdulrahman Q — Google review
Since the 4th century, every trade deal struck, prayer uttered and chai order hollered on the streets of Old Tiflis has had Narikala as its backdrop. One of the oldest surviving structures in the Georgian capital, the fortress has gone through many iterations (and name changes) over the years. In the Tbilisi of today – a city known for its distinctive and quirky architecture – Narikala is still one of the most enduring, evocative features of the skyline. Narikala Fortress in Tbilisi. Once Tbilisi’s first military defence, today Narikala is little more than a vantage point for panoramic city views. Aside from walking the fortress walls, other things to do on Narikala Hill include visiting the Mother of Georgia statue, Kartlis Deda (another Tbilisi icon), and hiking or walking in the National Botanical Garden of Georgia. This can all be done as part of the Narikala Tourist Trail, a marked 1.5km walking path along the top of the ridge. This quick guide to visiting Narikala runs through everything you need to plan a visit, including opening hours, costs, the best time to visit for photography, food options, and other activities nearby.

Cathedral
Eastern Orthodox Church
The Holy Trinity Cathedral of Tbilisi, also known as Sameba, is a significant religious complex in the heart of Tbilisi. This landmark Georgian Orthodox cathedral, along with its bell tower, monastery, and seminary, was designed by architect Archil Mindiashvili and constructed between 1995 and 2004. Situated on Mount Ilia overlooking the Kura River, it stands at an impressive height of nearly 105.
What a beautiful architecture!! Absolutely stunning!! It’s definitely a must visit. It’s grand and impressive, and the inside feels very peaceful and spiritual. The views from the cathedral are beautiful as well, especially if you go in the evening. It’s a place where you can just sit quietly and enjoy the beauty of this place. Definitely worth visiting if you’re in the city.
Stuti S — Google review
If you’re seeking a calm and quiet retreat in Tbilisi, the Holy Trinity Cathedral is a sanctuary of peace and splendor. Perched atop Elia Hill, this architectural marvel overlooks the city and the Kura River, offering breathtaking views and a sense of spiritual serenity. As dusk settles, the cathedral glows in the soft amber light, creating a magical atmosphere. The quiet surroundings and gentle breeze make it the perfect time for reflection, photography, or simply soaking in the beauty. Whether you’re a history buff, architecture enthusiast, or just looking for a peaceful moment, Holy Trinity Cathedral is a must visit. It’s not just a church it’s a symbol of Georgian unity and spiritual revival 🤗
Sreejith — Google review
This is the main cathedral in the city, and it's impossible not to be impressed by its size. The architecture is beautiful and very imposing, dominating the Tbilisi skyline. As it is a relatively recent construction, it blends the traditional style of Georgian churches with a modern, grandiose scale. The exterior is definitely the high point. The surrounding gardens are very beautiful and well-maintained, perfect for a peaceful walk and for taking great photos of the facade. Inside, it is huge, but honestly, I didn't find it as beautiful as the outside. The decoration is simpler than one might expect for a cathedral of this size. It's very much worth visiting, especially for the external view and the gardens. Women must cover their heads to enter. Admission is free.
Luana B — Google review
The largest church in Georgia. A massive building, beautiful. It is forbidden to take pictures inside. Unfortunately, some do not comply and only cause problems (Asian nationality). At the door in front of the entrance there are scarves for women to borrow. Great idea.
Sofie P — Google review
The cathedral was quite impressive and the inside was very detailed and elegant. It was quite interesting to learn that it only began construction in 1995 and was finished in 2004. We thought it was a centuries old church that was kept in great shape. Overall, definitely worth a visit, great for photos and views of the rest of the city as it rests on a hill. Takes a little bit to walk up the hill to get to the cathedral though.
Redpanda — Google review
I feel truly fortunate to have visited the Holy Trinity Cathedral in Tbilisi. The beauty of its architecture is awe-inspiring, and there's a profound sense of peace and spirituality in the air. Perched atop a hill, it offers a captivating view that can be seen from almost every corner of Tbilisi, making it a truly special place for reflection and connection.
Sudha L — Google review
Incredible, breathtaking, I could list positive adjectives all day long. It's the most beautiful church I have seen in my life! I'm at a loss for words. You must experience it for yourself! I'd recommend getting a taxi to get here as there's quite a climb to get here.

Definitely a must visit if you are in Tblisi. It's not very ornate from inside but grand from outside. You can also see it glowing from viewpoint near Mother of Georgia and infact all over Tblisi. We entered from one of the side entrances and found ample parking Entrance is free. Please be sure to cover your shoulders and knees inside the cathedral.

Perched on the peak of Mount Mtatsminda, Mtatsminda Park is a beloved amusement park and family-friendly destination that has been entertaining visitors since the 1930s. The park offers an array of thrilling rides suitable for all ages, from adrenaline-pumping roller coasters to gentle carousels and water slides. One of its highlights is a towering Ferris wheel that provides stunning panoramic views of Tbilisi.
🎢 Mtatsminda Park – Fun and Relaxing We had a nice time visiting Mtatsminda Park. The park is clean and has many fun things to do for all ages. The view of Tbilisi from the top is beautiful. You can enjoy rides or just relax. It’s a great place to visit! ❤️✨ We enjoyed the walk down the steps and the lovely views of the city. It was a nice mix of fun, nature, and city views!
Johncy D — Google review
A short version for people who don’t want to read the full review: Nice view, decent for young kids, but many rides are underwhelming and one (the log flume) is a serious safety hazard - I got injured, and so did a child before me. Read the full review below for details. Recommended only for families with small children. Avoid the log flume. The full review - I strongly advise reading it before going: We started by going up in the cable car for 12₾ per person, which wasn’t bad. Then we saw the cool TV broadcast tower, which was very impressive. After that, we started going on the rides - prices varied but averaged around 9₾ per ride. The first one was bumper cars, which were exactly as expected. Then we got to the roller coaster, which wasn’t that good but still okay. After that, we went into the ghost castle, which was honestly the lamest ride I’ve ever been on, it would be okay with very little children tho, max age of 8. Then we tried the mega drop, which was actually pretty fun. After that, we went to eat, but the food was bad, so we decided to leave. Before we left, we did one last ride—the log flume—which turned out to be a safety hazard. I got hit in the legs, which hurt for days, and got a cut on my fingers that bled for a long time. Also, a kid had gotten injured in the head on that same ride just a few runs before us. In conclusion, I would recommend this park for families with young children and strongly advise against going on the log flume ride. I also suggest visiting in the late afternoon or evening when it’s less hot. Some things I didn’t mention: the park was fairly clean, and the staff were okay—some friendly, some not. The food was priced fairly but didn’t taste good. It was fairly easy to find the cable car. The park was pretty empty, but that’s probably because we went when it was hot. The park looked nice and was clean overall—just not the rides. My final rating is 2 stars, the points were removed mostly because of the safety hazard, but also because of the lame rides and the food

Mtatsminda Park is a fantastic place for families and visitors of all ages. Located high above Tbilisi, it offers stunning panoramic views of the city along with a wide variety of attractions. The park combines fun rides, playgrounds, and walking areas with excellent dining options and cafes. Mtatsminda Amusement Park is a great place to spend a day in Tbilisi, especially with family or friends. 🎡🎢 Located on a hilltop, the park offers not only a variety of rides and games for all ages but also breathtaking panoramic views of the city below. 🌄 There are plenty of food stalls, walking areas, and attractions like the famous Ferris wheel, which is a must-try. The park is clean, well-maintained, and has a relaxed atmosphere, making it a nice break from the busy city streets. A perfect spot for fun, fresh air, and unforgettable views! ✨

Great views over Tbilisi and a fun place to spend a few hours, especially with kids. The rides are a bit dated, and food options are basic, but the atmosphere is lively, especially on the weekends, and the cable car ride is a must. It’s a shame cause this place could easily be much more fun.

Situated atop Mtatsminda Mountain, approximately 770 meters above sea level, the park offers panoramic views of Tbilisi. The park features a variety of rides suitable for all ages, including roller coasters, bumper cars, and a 65-meter Ferris wheel offering breathtaking views of the city. While entry to the park is free, individual rides may have associated costs. A one-day unlimited ride pass is also available for purchase. Visitors can reach the park via the historic Funicular Railway, which departs from Chonkadze Street and ascends to the park in about 3 minutes. Alternatively, buses 124 and 90, as well as taxis, provide access

Rike Park, located in central Tbilisi, is home to the iconic Bridge of Peace. This bow-shaped pedestrian bridge, illuminated with LEDs, spans the Kura River and connects the park to the Old Town. Designed by Italian architect Michele De Lucchi, it has become a significant tourist attraction and a well-recognized landmark of the capital since its opening in 2010. The park itself offers sculptures, biking trails, cafes, and a kids' play area.
Amazing 👏 🤩 🙀 and beautiful 😍 place, with nice weather 😀 and many people around. Multiple restaurants and coffee shop. Also you can take the bus 🚌 😏 and or golf car to go around the city 30 min. Also the cable car is amazing 👏 experience

It is very central (by the walking bridge and the departure point of the funicular to the hilltop fortress) and yet very quiet and well kept. As it is the case for the whole city it seems to be a safe place. Tree lovers will find some varieties worth being admired.
Jorge B — Google review
Beautiful park and one of the city’s most known landmarks thanks to its exceptional location in the heart of the city near almost every major attraction. The park features a variety of recreational areas, including children's playgrounds, a musical fountain, and a large amphitheater that hosts various cultural events throughout the year. And surely the most important parts of it are the cable car (that takes you to Narikala Fortress, the botanical garden and the statue of Mother of Georgia) and the Bridge of Peace.

A vibrant and beautifully designed park in the heart of Tbilisi! 🇬🇪✨ Rike Park is a fantastic place to relax, take a stroll, or enjoy the modern side of Tbilisi. Located near the Old Town and along the Kura River, it is easily accessible and offers a wonderful mix of greenery, walking paths, and open spaces perfect for families, friends, and solo travelers alike. The park features modern sculptures, fountains, and bridges, including the iconic Bridge of Peace nearby, which makes for great photo opportunities. There are also benches and shaded areas to sit and enjoy the view, and the park is well-maintained and clean. It’s a lively yet peaceful spot where locals and tourists mingle, with occasional cultural events, street performances, and activities adding to the charm. Whether you want a leisurely walk, a picnic, or simply to soak in the atmosphere, Rike Park is a must-visit destination in Tbilisi! 🌳🌟📸

A beautiful and spacious park in the heart of Tbilisi, right by the Bridge of Peace. It’s great for a relaxing walk, with lovely greenery, fountains, and amazing views of the river and the city. The cable car station to Narikala Fortress is also right there, which makes it a convenient spot for sightseeing. The only small downside is that it can get quite busy, especially in the evenings, but it’s still a lovely place to unwind and enjoy the atmosphere.

Rike Park is a stunning public park located in the heart of Tbilisi, Georgia. This modern park is situated on the left bank of the Mtkvari River, and it is known for its picturesque views, colorful flower gardens, and unique architectural features. One of the most notable features of Rike Park is The Bridge of Peace, a stunning pedestrian bridge that spans the Mtkvari River and connects the park to the historic district of Old Tbilisi. The bridge is a marvel of modern design, featuring a unique wave-like structure that is illuminated by thousands of LED lights at night. Rike Park is a popular destination for both locals and tourists, offering a wide range of activities and attractions. Visitors can take a leisurely stroll through the park’s manicured gardens and enjoy the vibrant colors of the flowers and plants, or relax in one of the many shaded areas and take in the stunning views of the city. The park also features a number of sculptures and art installations, as well as several cafes and restaurants where visitors can enjoy a meal or a cup of coffee. In the summer months, the park comes alive with concerts and events, one of the most beautiful annual event, which takes place in Rike park is Tbilisoba in October, where you can taste the Georgian traditional cuisines from every region of Georgia. Also in the park’s open-air amphitheater. Overall, Rike Park is a must-visit destination for anyone traveling to Tbilisi. With its stunning views, unique architecture, and wide range of activities and attractions, it is the perfect place to relax and enjoy the beauty of one of Europe’s most vibrant and exciting cities.

The park serves as a gateway to many key attractions in the heart of Tbilisi. It’s a pleasant area to stroll through, offering plenty of green space. More importantly, it provides access to the Friendship Bridge, which connects to the Old Town. The park’s cable car offers an easy and scenic route to the Narikala Fortress and the Mother of Georgia statue. The ride was quick, with no lines, and provided a stunning bird’s-eye view of the city. I recommend visiting early in the morning to beat the crowds and enjoy the cooler weather during the summer months.
Kye — Google review
It is one of the cities main parks and it is located in arguably the heart of the city but it could be a little better developed with more facilities like bathrooms and sights to see. The buildings in the park arent all active which could help the park improve. It is full of music in the evenings which jakes it a nice place to visit after the Bridge of Peace but there might not be kuch to keep you there for long. There are festivals that are held there from time to time which can be interesting.

The Bridge of Peace is a modern pedestrian bridge in Tbilisi, Georgia, designed by Italian architects and French lighting designers. This steel and glass structure spans the Mtkvari River, connecting the city's old and new districts with its unique 150-meter-long design. The bridge features an interactive LED light display system with 30,000 lights and 240 sensors that create mesmerizing patterns symbolizing human chemistry and peace.
✨ Morning at the Bridge of Peace ✨ Walking across this stunning glass-and-steel landmark in Tbilisi was such a surreal experience. In the calm of the morning, with soft light filtering through its arched design, I could really feel the beauty of how it connects the Old Town with modern Rike Park. It’s not just a bridge — it’s where tradition and modernity shake hands, and I was right there in the middle of it, soaking it all in. 🌿🌉

It's a beautiful bridge located above river Kura. It gets its charm because of the glass used in its construction which have lights fitted (LED ones, most probably). So it gets quite obvious that the best time to see this bridge and admire its true beauty is after sunset when the lights are on. You will find some other activities to do too nearby only.

A stunning modern landmark in the heart of Tbilisi! 🇬🇪🌟 The Bridge of Peace is an architectural marvel and a must-visit when exploring Tbilisi. Located across the Kura River, it beautifully connects the old town with the newer parts of the city, making it both a functional and scenic spot. The design of the bridge is truly eye-catching — sleek, modern, and illuminated with thousands of LED lights in the evenings, creating a magical atmosphere. Walking across the bridge, you get breathtaking views of the river, the historic Old Town, and the surrounding hills. It’s pedestrian-friendly, safe, and a great place for photos, romantic strolls, or just enjoying the cityscape. The combination of modern architecture and the natural beauty of Tbilisi makes the Bridge of Peace a perfect symbol of the city’s blend of history and contemporary style. For any tourist visiting Tbilisi, a walk across this iconic bridge is a memorable experience you shouldn’t miss! 🌉📸

The Bridge of Peace in the center of Tbilisi is not without controversy. Some people dislike it because they feel that it disrupts the harmony of the more classical architecture around it. I found that it actually integrates quite well with the river and the old and newer sections of the city. The bridge was designed and built in Italy and assembled in Tbilisi with lighting provided by French designers. Like it or not, it's a very memorable structure that's hard to ignore. Tourists and visitors love to visit it for pictures and memories.

Peace Bridge, Tbilisi The Peace Bridge is one of the must-see spots in Tbilisi. It’s best to visit early in the morning when it’s quiet and not crowded — perfect for a peaceful walk and great photos with fewer people around. At night, the bridge becomes even more magical when it lights up. You can also take a boat ride under it for beautiful reflections and a different view of the illuminated structure. Both times of day show a unique side of the bridge and the city.

This is definitely a must-visit spot in Tbilisi! Located right in the heart of the city, the bridge offers stunning views both from afar and while walking across. Its modern, sleek design beautifully connects the city, and since it’s situated in Rike Park, you also get to enjoy a lovely stroll through greenery before stepping onto the bridge. At the entrance, there are these unique “falling trees” I’d never seen before, which make it even more special. Walking across is an experience in itself—you’ll find people offering bird photos, even a 360° video booth if you want to have some fun! On the other side, there are plenty of great restaurants to try. Overall, such a beautiful and lively spot that I’d highly recommend.

The Dry Bridge Market in Tbilisi is a vibrant al fresco flea market that offers a diverse array of goods, from art and housewares to Soviet memorabilia. Located near Rustaveli Avenue, this daily market (with more vendors on weekends) is a cultural hub where you can find 19th century European porcelain, modern Dagestani jewelry, Georgian enameling, antique musical instruments, and contemporary artworks.
One of the best things to do in Georgia really interesting, open every day bit even more selection and vendors at weekends. If you like history, antiques, Soviet stuff, this is the place. Bring cash it's very good.

I have a tradition in every city or country I visit, I make it a point to visit a flea market and buy a souvenir to add to my antique collection. This market is on the smaller side. There are lots of fridge magnets and other items that aren’t quite vintage or antique, but there’s also an interesting selection of Soviet war memorabilia. Unfortunately, I wasn’t lucky enough to find a small souvenir to take home this time, but I’ll definitely try again on my next visit!
Jumana B — Google review
A good place to spend half a day therein. I don't think it contains antiques but pre-owned or used things. The exhibited articles are almist identical on all scales. The sellers mostly speak only Georgian and Russian. On the other hand, as a tourist, they usually want to charge you high. I bought an article which was offered for almist 25 dollars for 4 dollars!

An interesting place to visit and buy curios, souvenirs, crafts and arts. It’s worth visiting if you love shopping interesting things as souvenirs when traveling. I wanted to buy a camera but was a bit hesitant to haggle with the old gentleman selling. 😁

Dry Bridge Market – Tbilisi’s Open-Air Curiosity Shop For a truly local shopping experience in Tbilisi, head to the Dry Bridge Market—an open-air bazaar brimming with history, art, and unique finds. Born in the 1950s when locals began selling old possessions here, the market now stretches across the Dry Bridge (Mshrali Khidi), Dedaena Park, and 9 March Park, creating a colorful maze of antiques, art, and handcrafted goods. What to Expect Soviet-era relics: medals, ID books, vintage cameras Handmade crafts: feltwork, kantsi drinking horns, panduri instruments Art zone: unframed canvases and live painting by local artists Antiques: old coins, maps, vinyl records, and Georgian artifacts Rain or shine, vendors set up daily from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM (closed January 1 & Orthodox Easter Sunday). The Chronicle of Georgia is an unfinished hilltop sculpture featuring vast pillars that depict Georgian history and the life of Christ. Situated a few kilometers outside Tbilisi, this impressive monument overlooks the Tbilisi reservoir and showcases important events in Georgian history on its massive 35-meter-tall pillars. Although started by sculptor Zurab Tsereteli in 1985, it remains incomplete due to political tensions and the fall of the Soviet Union.
This unique monument is located on Keeni Hill. It was started in 1985 by sculptor Zurab Tsereteli in but was never fully finished. The monument overlooks the northern part of the Tbilisi city. It has around 30 meters tall 16 pillars in which on the top half the sculptures features kings, queens, and heroes while the bottom part depicts stories from the life of Christ. It is free for entry. Reaching early morning and view sunrise is a special charm.

This is a spectacular place and still little-known on the traditional tourist circuits. It's a monumental complex, sometimes called the "Stonehenge of Tbilisi," located on a hill overlooking the "Tbilisi Sea." The work consists of 16 gigantic pillars, each over 30 meters high, depicting the history of Georgia and biblical scenes in impressive reliefs. The scale is grandiose, and the place is extremely photogenic. Since it's not very crowded yet, the visit is very peaceful. The tip is to try to arrive before 9 a.m. to have the place all to yourself, ensuring an "exclusivity" that makes all the difference. It is definitely a visit worth making for those looking for something out of the ordinary. Admission is free.

Beautiful monument. No history is related though, it is just a gift. The view of the tbilisi reservoir is heavenly from here. Not much food option nearby. Great for photo shoot.

Absolutely breathtaking! The Chronicles of Georgia is one of the most impressive monuments I’ve ever visited. The massive sculptures overlooking Tbilisi are truly majestic and full of history! every detail tells a story. The view from the top is spectacular, especially at sunset, when the light hits the statues and the city below glows in golden tones. It’s peaceful, powerful, and inspiring at the same time. A must-see spot for anyone visiting Georgia. You’ll feel small next to the giant pillars, but completely amazed by their beauty and symbolism. 📍 Tip: Go near sunset for the best photos and atmosphere!
Sérgio — Google review
The Chronicle of Georgia is one of the most underrated yet breathtaking places near Tbilisi! Just about a 20-minute ride from the city, it feels like stepping into a piece of art carved in stone. The massive pillars beautifully depict Georgia’s rich history, and the architecture is truly majestic. It’s peaceful, spacious, and not crowded, which makes the experience even more special. I’d recommend visiting in the evening — the sunset view from the top is absolutely stunning, with the lake and city glowing beneath you. Fun fact: the Honey Singh “Paradox” song was also shot here — and you’ll totally see why once you visit! 🎥🔥 Just a small tip — stay cautious around the few people selling things near the entrance, as they might try to overcharge or trick tourists. Overall, a must-visit spot in Tbilisi — history, art, and views all in one place. 🇬🇪✨
Tasneem S — Google review
Wonderful monument, very impressive. An interesting fusion of biblical stories and the history of Georgia. A huge bonus is the view from the mountain, amazing! I only took one star away, because unfortunately the site is not friendly for people with disabilities, not offering enough benches and any ramps. The toilet was closed, which is rather bad and not tourist welcoming.
Tatiana K — Google review
The Chronicles of Georgia is one of those places that instantly shifts your inner mood. We didn’t go straight by taxi — first we took the metro, then a short taxi ride from the last station. All in all, it was affordable and easy. I heard that taking a bus could take around 1 hour and 30 minutes, so the metro + taxi combo was great choice for us. There’s no entrance fee, and often barely any people there, so it feels like a quiet moment just for you. The view over Tbilisi Sea is worth the whole trip alone. It’s not just a place to “see” — it’s a place to feel, think, and just breathe. Highly recommended if you’re into art, history, deep moments, or simply discovering the soul of a country beyond the busy streets and cafes.

Perched atop Sololaki Hill in Tbilisi, the Mother of Georgia, also known as Kartlis Deda, is an iconic 20-meter-tall aluminum statue erected in 1958 to commemorate Georgia's 1500th anniversary. The colossal figure depicts a woman donning traditional Georgian attire, holding a bowl of wine to welcome friends and a sword to warn enemies.
Arriving at Dada Cathedral via the scenic cable car is an unforgettable experience, offering panoramic views of Tbilisi. The cathedral itself is stunning, with its blend of traditional and modern architecture. Its peaceful atmosphere and stunning interior make it a perfect spot for reflection and admiration of the city from above.

This was such a great stop as a traveler in Tbilisi! The cable car ride was super affordable and gave us an amazing view of the entire city. Once at the top, you’re led to a charming street with authentic vibes—street singers, souvenir shops, and even treats like the delicious chimney cake and my favorite, the Limonti drink! From there, you can walk towards the Mother of Georgia statue. The statue is massive and faces the city, so the best photos are taken from a distance rather than directly below. For the adventurous, there’s even a full hike up with rewarding views along the way.
Nimra F — Google review
My fav viewpoint in Tbilisi, as well as the way to the top itself. The area is beautiful with its architecture charm. The views are truly amazing. Strongly recommend going up on foot.
Yuliya A — Google review
The ascent to this famous monument is an attraction in itself. The best way to go is by taking the cable car from Rike Park, which requires a paid ticket. The ride itself is already great, as it offers a beautiful view of the Peace Bridge and the river below. Upon reaching the top, what's truly impressive is the spectacular panoramic view of the entire city of Tbilisi. The Mother of Georgia statue is huge, but ironically, it's a bit hard to see the whole thing from up there, as you are right at its base. The ascent is more worthwhile for the city view. The best tip is: if you have the energy and comfortable shoes, walk back down. There is a staircase nearby that descends the hill. The path down offers the best views of the statue and, furthermore, it passes through charming streets with old houses, hidden small churches, and gardens. It's very worth it. Access to the statue's patio is free.

Standing tall on top of Sololaki Hill, overlooking the enchanting cityscape of Tbilisi, stands the imposing statue of Kartlis Deda, the Mother of Georgia. This 20-meter-tall aluminum figure, erected in 1958 to commemorate Tbilisi's 1,500th anniversary, has become a beloved symbol of the city, embodying its spirit of strength, hospitality, and resilience. Kartlis Deda is more than just an impressive work of art; she carries a powerful message in her outstretched arms. In one hand, she holds a sword, symbolizing Georgia's fierce determination to defend its independence and sovereignty. In the other hand, a bowl of wine represents the nation's renowned hospitality and warmth, welcoming visitors with open arms. Ascending to the base of the Mother of Georgia statue rewards visitors with a breathtaking panoramic view of Tbilisi. The vibrant city stretches out before you, a tapestry of ancient landmarks, modern architecture, and the winding Mtkvari River, all framed by the surrounding mountains. As you stand in the presence of Kartlis Deda, take a moment to reflect on the rich history and enduring spirit of the Georgian people. The Mother of Georgia stands tall as a reminder of the nation's unwavering strength and hospitality, watching over Tbilisi and its inhabitants with a loving gaze that transcends time

The National Botanical Garden of Georgia, also known as the Tbilisi Botanical Garden, is a historic hilltop garden nestled in a picturesque valley between the Sololaki and Teleti Ridges in Tbilisi. Originally established in the mid-19th century on the grounds of a former royal park, it was designated as the national botanical garden in 2012. The garden boasts manicured grounds with seasonal flowers, a stunning waterfall, and panoramic views of the city.
A very wonderful variety of nature content. A nice place to spend time therein. The pleasure is not in roaming it by the shuttle, but on foot as you will have the chance to enjoy close looks at the wonderful varieties of nature.
Fathi G — Google review
Much bigger then expected with many wide roads and paths to walk around through the trees. It's more of a forest than a botanical garden as there are very few flower beds. With the river running through and waterfalls it is really a serene Park. 4 GEL entry fee per person is worth it.
Vincent O — Google review
Lovely garden with an intricate landscape. You can admire a couple of waterfalls and a great bamboo grove. There's a limited range of species and few name tags. There are not many maps or signs to guide your journey in the garden and quite a few dead ends. Lots of drinking fountains and beautiful panoramic views.

A wonderful visit at the botanical gardens! During November it looked so beautiful and it was not busy. The main entrance is kind of hidden but GPS will lead you. The entrance from the park (near Mother of Georgia) is not obvious at all, no signs or anything (shown in the last picture). I entered through the main entrance and walked my way through the scenic alleys to mother of Georgia and took the cable car down. Easy walk to find the waterfall too
Ελενη Τ — Google review
Beautiful park with a water fall and spectacular Tbilisi views on top. Not crowded. Best to visit with couple or family. I walked all the way up and took a shuttle to get down.

This Garden is a little difficult to trek considering there are uphills to enter from Old Town and it has many steps and steep slopes to pass. I would definitely give it a 5star if it were more accessible for everyone. I would even suggest those that are fit to try the walks around because it might be a challenge for those who aren't physically capable of walking for long distances with many uphills and downhills. It is definitely one of the most beautiful places in Tbilisi. It was very clean, well kept and offered a wide range of nature to explore. Perhaps more signs towards the exits would have been helpful as it was a huge place to visit. The ticket was 4laris which was reasonable considering the quality of the place but it might not be easy to see all its parts in one day. I suggest taking good walking shoes as regular shoes will be unsuitable for long walks especially where the trails aren't asphalt.
Alex S — Google review
Beautiful and large park, feels a lot like being in the real nature rather than a botanical garden. There are multiple entrances, you can enter from the high point where the statue of Tbilisi is and enjoy also a nice panoramic view. The orangery could have a bit more maintenance and attention, but over all it’s beautiful.
Jenela K — Google review
These botanical gardens were really nice, and I enjoyed the trip there. 1- You can find nice views and a lot of greenery. And mountains. 2- Each and every rare tree has a sign written on it all the details of the tree ( name, history, where it comes from ....). 3- You can spend hours in the garden, enjoying the views, smelling fresh air, and learning about the plants). If you like to walk in a calm environment and learn about the plants, then you should visit this place when you go to Georgia.

According to the annals, in the 5th century, the king Vakhtang Gorgasali built here the first church and a fort of Tbilisi, which also served as the royal residence. The first church symbolically resembled the church built on virgin Mary’s tomb in Gethsemane garden in Jerusalem. The church was burnt as a result of Mongol invasion in the 13th century. It was ruined and restored many times since then. In early 20th c, Soviet authorities planned to remove the church together with other additional buildings built by Tsarism regime in 19th c - jail and living quarters of Russian troops -garrison, but faced a great resistance from Georgian intellectuals led by the Georgian artist Dimitri Shevardnadze. The artist was purged executed during Joseph Stalin's repressions, but the church was preserved. Later, it functioned as a theater. In 1961, the equestrian statue of King Vakhtang Gorgasali by the sculptor Elguja Amashukeli was erected in front of Metekhi Church. The church resumed functioning in 1988.

One of the most iconic churches in Tbilisi and definitely one of the most recognizable churches to everyone who visited the city due to its excellent and strategic location on a high cliff overlooking the Kura river and the old city. Much of the existing structure dates back to the Middle Ages and was built between 1278 and 1289 AD under the reign of King Demetrius II of Georgia, although oral tradition traces the church’s origins further to the 5th century during King Vakhtang I Gorgasali’s rule. Within the church’s land stand a statue dedicated to King Vakhtang overlooking Old Tbilisi and Kura river in a very majestic scene.

In the heart of Tbilisi's Old Town, you'll find The Clock Tower, a remarkable structure crafted by local sculptor and playwright Rezo Gabriadze. Adorned with hundreds of unique tiles designed by the artist himself, this architectural gem has become a must-see attraction in the city. At noon and 7pm, visitors can enjoy a charming puppet show depicting the circle of life.
We got lucky in this one. We reached just about 5 minutes to 12 and witnessed a spectacular puppet show along with the angel coming out. While the tower in itself is beautiful, If you can, do plan your visit in a way that you are there either at 12PM or 7PM to enjoy the puppet show. We also got a beautiful picture clicked by a kind gentleman who printed it as a newspaper and gave it to us as a souvenir- this is not a promoted activity i believe. We did wait 5 minutes for the crowd to clear up for pictures, and we got frame worthy ones. I’d say do visit this and preferably at those two timings. This is next to two three cafes and restaurants where you could plan to sit for coffee/ lunch. Also the street is lined with paintings and beautiful magnets which are for sale. No tickets.

Goofy clocktower, few cool statues, lots of paintings to sell. Show is only few minutes of puppets showing cycle of life. At normal hours angel comes out and hits the bell. Apparently huge tourist attraction but actually not much to see. Nice guy collects charity for puppet theater (please read the interesting story) and he offers to take pictures for you. Kinda cool but as i saw it online before i was little bit underwhelmed. But sure this is a "must" ultimate tourist visit! Check out the paintings what they sell

What people don't realize is that on the side of the clock is the entrance to the old arts theater, which explain the quirky design. There's more to the clock than just a photo opp of you look at the minute details around it. Enjoy!
Jamz Y — Google review
This is one of the most curious and photographed attractions in the old city. It's a crooked tower that looks very old, but it's actually a new construction from 2010. It has architecture that seems straight out of a fairy tale and is part of the famous Rezo Gabriadze puppet theater. The tower is interesting, but don't expect a big show. Every hour on the hour, a small angel comes out of a little door at the top and rings a bell. It's a brief moment. Because of this, the area gets very crowded with tourists waiting for that minute. It's nice to see, but it's good to manage expectations, as there really isn't much else to see besides the tower itself and the little angel. Watching from the street is free.
Luana B — Google review
We visited this unique clock tower in Tbilisi. When the time we reached there, it's almost 4pm and we saw a lot of people waiting there and standing by their camera, we didn't do much research before this, so we guessed it might have some action from the clock when it reach 4pm and every hour. So yeah, we managed to watch the 'show'. Although it was only a 'lady' came out from the top and knock on the bell, but for us, it's something special.

Very beautiful and unique structure in a very beautiful street in the heart of Tbilisi. It’s part of the building of the puppet theatre of renowned puppeteer Rezo Gabriadze. He himself is the brainchild behind the structure. Gabriadze built the theatre himself over a timespan of thirty years, reusing old pieces from abandoned structures of the old town, and from buildings destroyed following a major earthquake. The clock tower was added in 2011, after a four-year construction phase. Each hour, a beautiful painted door at the top of the tower opens and an angel emerges from within to strike the magical bell. Underneath the clock is a small puppet theatre, where, twice a day, at 12:00 and 19:00, you will see the short play called “the Circle of Life”, which brings a beautiful love story to life using wonderfully made puppets. It’s a must-see attraction in the city. And make sure you come at a time when you can see the bell ringing and the beautiful short play in the small puppet theatre.

History Museums
The Georgian National Museum, established in 1865, is home to some of the country's most significant historical and archaeological discoveries. The museum features two essential exhibitions that shed light on ancient and recent history. The Archeological Treasury showcases delicate gold jewelry dating back to the 3rd century BCE, reinforcing the myth of Jason and the Golden Fleece from the region known as Colchis.
“I really enjoyed this museum – it’s very comprehensive and well organized! It has three floors: one dedicated to the period when Georgia was part of the Soviet Union, another showcasing artworks, paintings, and styles of different eras and nations, and the first floor focusing on the earliest human skulls and the story of human origin and evolution. Personally, I’d love to visit this museum again, and I definitely recommend it to others.”
Shima R — Google review
We were a group of women visiting Georgia and noticed we were taken straight to the gold exhibit, all we could think of is shopping 😁 Our guide was appointed by the museum and she was a gorgeous looking woman, loved her jewellery and the way she carried herself at her age. The jewellery section showed how designs changed over a period of time..from just gold to gemstones and from animals designs to modern design. Anyway we had time for the jewellery, war section, coffee shop and museum shop which was my favorite. Off to a new place...
Mallika J — Google review
The visit was a complete disappointment. For a national museum, it lacked the caliber and coherence expected. The overall theme was unclear—exhibits appeared to be a disjointed mix of topics, combined without a clear narrative or purpose. Much of the display felt like filler, poorly curated and lacking depth. Even the museum staff seemed disengaged, more focused on their cell phones than on assisting visitors.
Kye — Google review
The Georgian National Museum celebrates the history of Georgia mainly with exhibitions of the arts and crafts of the country. Do not miss the treasury in the basement. Divided into two different sections depending on historical periods, both are equally impressive. The older period has a fantastic collection of gold and silver coins and jewels, one of the best that I've seen anywhere. That collection alone is worth the visit to the museum. The second section, focused on the middle ages, has fascinating icons which are equally memorable.
Georges Y — Google review
While it’s great to see that the museum has explanations in English, I found it a bit plain for a national museum. No real theme, no cohesive overview of Georgia’s history and culture, more like multiple exhibitions that just happen to inhabit the same building. Staff are either unfriendly or completely disengaged. Expensive at 40 GEL.
Saikhnaa — Google review
The museum is a largely a tourist trap. They charge tourists 40 GEL per entrance but the insides are very disappointing. There is no theme, no explanations of history, just a small collection of jewellery and paintings without context. The Soviet Occupation part was a bit better, but overall you will not learn there anything new.
Damkota 1 — Google review
Must see for all visitors of Gergia. Illustrates such ancient history and culture of the country. I was mostly impressed with the archaeological treasure exhibition, depicting goldsmith findings dating several millennium BC. Price is very affordable. We visited during a weekday afternoon and it wasn't busy at all.
Nino F — Google review
Museum was pretty traditional and the audio guide was quite boring. The most interesting exhibit was on the 4th floor about the Soviet Occupation. Ticket desk wasn’t very kind.

Liberty Square is a bustling and significant location in Tbilisi, featuring a striking gilded statue of St. George atop a granite column. It's recommended to stay nearby for easy access to various attractions by foot, with an amazing vibe and live musicians adding to the atmosphere. The area boasts numerous good restaurants, shops, and the Galleria Tbilisi mall. Public transport options like buses and the metro are readily available.
When I arrived at Liberty Square, there was a huge protest going on — crowds of people everywhere, shouting and holding signs. It was crazy, and definitely the first surprising thing that happened to me when I got to Tbilisi.
Betty E — Google review
Liberty Square, also known as Freedom Square, is a central landmark in Tbilisi that offers a mix of historical significance and urban energy. At its heart stands the impressive Freedom Monument—a towering granite column topped with a gilded statue of St. George slaying a dragon, symbolizing Georgia’s resilience and independence. The square is surrounded by notable architecture, including the Tbilisi City Hall and the Courtyard Marriott, and serves as a gateway to Rustaveli Avenue, lined with shops, theaters, and museums. It’s a popular gathering spot for both locals and tourists, especially in the evenings when the area comes alive with lights and street performances. There is almost nothing to do in the actual square and one should be careful due to relatively common pickpockets.
İsidora — Google review
Liberty Square is one of Tbilisi’s main landmarks and surrounded by beautiful architecture, but it’s not very pedestrian friendly. It’s basically a large traffic circle, so it feels quite hard to reach or enjoy up close. Nice to see while passing by, but not really a place to stop and relax.
Toosha A — Google review
Freedom Square, known locally as Tavisuplebis Moedani and located at the eastern end of Rustaveli Avenue in the heart of Tbilisi, is a central landmark whose evolving identity mirrors Georgia's turbulent history . Originally an area outside the old city walls called Garetubani or "Wood Square" where firewood was sold, it was officially named Paskevich-Yerevansky Square in 1829 to honor a Russian general . The square witnessed pivotal events like the infamous 1907 bank robbery orchestrated by Bolsheviks, including Joseph Stalin . It was first renamed Freedom Square in 1918 with the foundation of the First Georgian Republic, only to be known as Beria Square and later Lenin Square during the Soviet era, which featured a large statue of Lenin erected in 1956 . That statue was symbolically torn down in 1991 upon Georgia's independence from the Soviet Union, and the square reclaimed its name of Freedom Square . In 2006, the golden Liberty Monument—a statue of St. George slaying the dragon created by Zurab Tsereteli—was unveiled in the center, solidifying the square's status as a modern symbol of national freedom and resilience, a role it has played during events like the Rose Revolution . I don’t know why, I find this place very peaceful and tranquil whenever I had been there numerous times. Perhaps, because of what it represents. You could enjoy good street music almost anytime go there. You have quite a few cafes and restaurants around the freedom square, Georgians restaurants as well as continental ones like The Paul.
Zubair C — Google review
This is the central square and one of the most famous points in the city. It is huge and serves as a large roundabout with very heavy traffic. In the center is the Freedom Monument, a very tall column with the golden statue of St. George slaying the dragon. The statue is beautiful and imposing, but it is a bit frustrating to visit. As it is isolated in the middle of several lanes of traffic, there is no way to get close to take photos or observe the details calmly. You basically see the monument from the sidewalk, through the cars that pass nonstop. It is more of an important landmark and a transit point than a place to stroll.
Luana B — Google review
The center point of Tbilisi! It’s the perfect location to stay close to restaurants, attractions, and a starting point for almost all day tours. If you ever feel lost in the city, you can always find your way back here. It truly has everything you need.

Turtle Lake in Tbilisi is a popular recreational spot offering various activities such as walking paths, paddle boat rentals, and public concerts and festivities. Situated at an altitude of over 600 meters above sea level, this beautiful lake is nestled in the hills overlooking the city of Tbilisi. Despite its name, Turtle Lake doesn't actually house many turtles; rather, it derives its name from its turtle-like shape when viewed from above.
This is a beautiful place, worth visiting, with a path surrounded by greenery around the lake. It's a pleasant place to spend time, and there are also cafes with lake views. Here you can rent a water bicycle.

Scenic and Relaxing Spot – Worth a Visit We visited this place three weeks ago and had a great experience. You can reach the top of the hill either by car or cable car. There are only two cable cars, so you might have to wait a while, but the ride is very affordable at just 2 Lari. Once at the top, the view of the city is stunning! The area around the lake is peaceful, with seating areas to relax and beautiful greenery. There are also ducks by the lake, adding to the natural charm. We noticed a few restaurants, though we didn’t try them. Many people were there to relax, jog along the mountain roads, and enjoy the fresh air. During our visit in winter, the lake was frozen, so boat activities were unavailable, but I imagine it would be fun in warmer months. Overall, it's a nice place to visit with family for a relaxing and scenic outing. Definitely recommended!

A little out of the way from the city but still a 15 min Bolt ride. A very serene lake where you can sit by the side in total peace or munch on some ice cream or have a whole meal in the restaurants. Walk all around the lake if you please or lie down on the charpoi and chill. Highly recommend if you that extra but if time after you have finished exploring Tbilisi.

Beautiful and peaceful place on the outskirts of Tbilisi. The lake is located on the north slope of Mtatsminda Range, at an altitude of 686 meters above sea level, 10 kilometers from the center of Tbilisi. There’s an open-air ethnographic museum nearby and a beautiful medieval Svan tower overlooking the lake. The Svan Towers are architectural marvels representing the culture and history of the Svans, a subgroup of the Georgian population traditionally tasked with guarding mountain passes. Overall a beautiful recreational place to spend a peaceful time.

A tranquil and peaceful place with a lot of stunning views and adorable bird-flight views on the city. The day we visited the place there was windy so the only means of transport remained the taxi as on foot there was no option. There was little number of visitors that time, maybe because of weather a well. But the place is definitely recommended to be visited. From the park entrance to the top the price of the taxi would be 7-8 gel.

Lovely, serene place to spend away from this bustling area of the city. Older fit alone or in pairs under the shade of mature trees, and parents (mostly moms) enjoy the broad lawns and play areas that are safe and well kept.

While it’s an excellent facility the restaurants are very pricey food is average I put this down to the tourist doesn’t know any better or it’s the best there is in the park so if you’re planning on going there bring a picnic 🧺 it’s a great place for one. The facilities are terrible and investment is urgently needed

Vake is one of the best parks in Georgia since it has a wide range of entertainments like a couple of places for children to play and it is relatively clean but not all of its entrances are easily accessible for the elderly or those with disabilities. You can find tennis and basketball courts as well as playgrounds for children. There is also a reasonably-priced cable car near this park that takes you to a beautiful place called Turtle Lake.

This place is absolutely gorgeous! There are over a mile of walking paths at the base of the amazing freedom statue. Many benches line the pleasant gravel covered walking paths. There are also bike trails to enjoy. Construction is now going on so the park area in front of the statue and some of it to the left is closed off. It will be done June 7, 2027 according to the sign that I photographed. Enjoy any time of the year!

A beautiful park. Very clean and a great place for walking, hiking, or mountain biking in the bike trails above the park. There is a well maintained amusement park for children, tennis courts, and a basketball court (the courts are in great shape). In the park you'll find food, drinks, and ice cream for sale. There are many shady paths with benches everywhere to sit and relax as well as free wifi. It's a dog friendly park. Some of the larger fountains are out of service and need some maintenance. Definitely worth going to for a walk, jog, hike, or to take the kids.

Wine bar
Wine store
8000 Vintages is a large wine shop and bar with three locations, offering an extensive curation of Georgian wines. The selection process involves an independent committee's blind tasting of 100 wines monthly, resulting in the handpicked choice of 800 dynamic bottles from the 2,500 tried so far. The store sells these selected bottles at their shelf price without additional markup, allowing patrons to enjoy them with a delectable menu of high-quality dishes.
Georgia may be the land of wine, but it’s easy to come across the same few labels again and again. That’s exactly why 8000 Vintages is a must-visit. With the largest selection of Georgian wine anywhere—yes, around 8000 varieties—it’s a dream for wine lovers. The pours are generous, the prices are refreshingly fair, and knowledgeable sommeliers are always on hand to help you discover something new. They’re also exporting to Europe now, which is why I’ll be returning soon to start bringing some bottles back to Ireland. I strongly recommend a visit—especially since they have multiple locations around Tbilisi and strong ties abroad. It’s a clear sign of their quality and ambition.

Great atmosphere and an impressive selection of Georgian wines. 🍷 You can do tastings, order by the glass, or even buy bottles to take home. The staff is helpful and knows their wines well. We really enjoyed just sitting down, chatting, and trying a few different things. 🍇🧀 It’s the kind of place where you lose track of time in the best way. Cozy, casual, and full of local flavor. Definitely a nice spot to relax and discover what Georgian wine is all about.
Abdullah Ş — Google review
A must visit for wine lovers. They have thousands of wine bottles and the well trained staff is very helpful. Great prices too. Many of the bottles have clear price tags are organised by type. What we liked best was the sampling section where you can get small portions of different wines at good prices via a charge card. So you don't have to drink a bottle or glass of only 1 wine. Great concept. They serve cheeseboard and other food. Main kitchen closes at 11pm but you can still order snacks after that. They are open till 1am. Oh, they have a paid wine tasting too but we missed that.
Sandeep R — Google review
Friendly and helpful staff provided detailed overviews and personalized recommendations when asked to select a wine to purchase. The location also offers a variety of wines available for tasting by the glass. Georgian-style ham and cheese boards complement the wine, allowing guests to enjoy both red and white varieties on-site.
Kye — Google review
We arrived with a reservation for 19:30 and ordered the cheese board and bread. Unfortunately, the cheese selection and quantity were quite limited. The bread was served warm, but it arrived a full 30 minutes before the cheese board, so it was already cold by the time we could eat them together. Overall, the service was rather slow. On the positive side, the wine recommendations were very good—we had the chance to try the local Muscat 2021 and Kindzmarauli 2020. The main issue with the place is that it’s overly bright and very noisy. We practically had to raise our voices to hear each other. Not really suitable for a romantic evening, but it could be a decent option for a casual daytime visit.
Ahmet A — Google review
We waited more than 20mins for getting the table, and we waited more than 20mins for staff. We expected tasting some wine to buy some bottles of wine, but no one explained to use how to use it. We spent more than 40mins, and just left without any services. We could wait more, but there were 2kids playing with their balls that it was hard to stand at there. No one make them silence or make them not through the balls. It was totally not suit for wine mood.

📍Mtskheta, Georgia 🇬🇪 — the ‘Second Jerusalem’ If you’re in Georgia, you cannot skip this magical ancient city! Just a 30-minute drive from Tbilisi 🚘 We took a one-day trip to explore this timeless city and visited its most sacred sites: ⛪ Jvari Monastery — Built in the 6th century, it stands proudly on a hill overlooking the city where two rivers — Aragvi & Mtkvari — meet in breathtaking contrast. “Jvari” means cross, symbolizing the very spot Saint Nino placed her wooden cross centuries ago. The view from the top is pure magic! ✨

Jews Monastery, very scenic. Very famous, very picturesome on the top of the mountain before the village Mtskheta. I personally like it a lot. Specially the drive Tbilisi to Mtskheta is so cool.
Dr M — Google review
One of our routes, within a few days of our reaching Georgia, led us to the Jvari Monastery. It stood exactly the way it was predicted earlier by some friends, on the mountain top at the confluence of the Mtkvari and Aragvi rivers, overlooking the Mtskheta town (the former capital of Iberia). Jvari is an Early Medieval Georgian Church, surviving till today almost unchanged in most manners. During the Soviet period, the Church was preserved as national monument but access to it was difficult due to tight security of the surrounding military base. The importance of the Jvari complex increased and continued to attract pilgrims unabated. But over time, the standing structures have gone through weather erosion and low and inadequate maintenance. Thus, it got listed in 2004 under world's monuments watch list. It is still a beautiful place to see, to observe the surrounding areas, the confluence of the rivers and the spread out town near it. Plenty of parking, lots of visitors and a few shops nearby catering to visitors with knick-knacks.

The Mtatsminda Pantheon, situated on the slopes of Mount Mtatsminda in Tbilisi, Georgia, is a renowned necropolis and final resting place for legendary authors, dancers, national heroes, and scholars. Established in 1929 within the St. Davids Church Complex or Mamadaviti churchyard, it holds the graves of some of Georgia's most prominent writers, artists, and public figures.
Place of peace. Graveyard of significant/meaningful persons of Georgian history. Small church inside the cemetery. It's a good opportunity to catch your breath all the way up to the Amusement park. It's laying roughly half way to Mtatsminda park

"I strongly advise against visiting this park due to its numerous shortcomings. The funicular, a crucial mode of transportation, is perpetually under maintenance, resulting in a 20-minute wait per stop with no air conditioning. The park's failure to maintain the tram despite collecting money from visitors is unacceptable. Once inside, visitors are forced to wait in line within a building without air conditioning, and the overpriced drinks only add to the frustration. The games and attractions are neglected, making the park's niceties irrelevant. The theme park appears abandoned, and the prices are exorbitant. Our experience was marred by a 20-minute wait to ascend and a grueling one-hour wait to descend, with staff providing misleading information and showing a lack of organization. The waiting area lacked air conditioning, causing discomfort. When we requested a refund, the staff became hostile. The park's redeeming qualities are its vastness, cleanliness, and lush greenery. However, the toilets are small and lack basic amenities like tissues. The only positive aspect is the access to a nearby church with a scenic view. Adventurous individuals can climb up and down, but beware of the steep hill's potential to cause loss of balance. Overall, this park is a disappointment, and I do not recommend it."

Anchiskhati Basilica, also known as the Anchiskhati Basilica of St. Mary, is a venerable Orthodox church located in Tbilisi. Built in the 6th century by King Gorgasalis son Dachi, it is the oldest surviving church in the city. The basilica features a three-nave design with yellow tuff-stone walls and interior frescoes dating back to its original construction.
This ancient historical church is a breathtakingly beautiful landmark, both inside and out. The exterior offers plenty of benches for quiet contemplation and reflection. The surrounding area is bustling with various stores, including souvenir shops, coffeehouses, and gift stores. Please note that there are some restrictions to be aware of when visiting the church: no photography is allowed inside, pets are not permitted, and smoking is also prohibited. Despite the crowds, the atmosphere was tolerable and well worth the visit.

We reached just in time for service and we all listened to the prayer, offered a candle and left. Photography isn't allowed inside, was told because of the fresco on the wall and to preserve it.

“Another hidden gem on the Ioane Shavteli Street” ✨ When walking through this amazing street with artworks everywhere, it is easy to miss this beautiful 6th century church. To get to the church, you need to enter the big stone gate which is located at the street level and walk down the stairs. Important to note, all churches in Georgia expect you to wear the appropriate attire. Long pants, shoulders covered and for the ladies their hair covered. Many churches provide free choir robes you can use, but not all! — Genuine Gems Overview — ⭐ Rating: 5/5 💰 Price Paid: Free 💎 A Genuine Gem?

The Anchiskhati Basilica of St Mary is the oldest surviving church in Tbilisi, dating back to the 6th century. According to the old Georgian annals, the church was built by the King Dachi of Iberia, who had made Tbilisi his capital. Originally dedicated to the Virgin Mary, it was renamed Anchiskhati in 1675 when the treasured icon of the Savior created by the twelfth-century goldsmith Beka Opizari at the Ancha monastery in Klarjeti (in what is now part of northeast Turkey) was moved to Tbilisi to preserve it from an Ottoman invasion. The basilica was damaged and rebuilt on several occasions from the 15th through 17th centuries due to wars between Georgia and the Persians and Turks. It was of course closed during Soviet period and turned into a museum, and then into an art studio. It wasn’t until the independence in 1991 that the basilica reverted to religious use.

A simple, peaceful and charming cathedral. It has old world charm so do go in and reflect for a moment. It's not been renovated so it had a special charm. Dress code is followed. Wrap around skirts and stoles are available for women. Entrance is free

Look like a very ancient church and there should not be any photography inside. But the interior is where it is captivating. With very old scripts, painting, tools etc kept in their original state without refurbishment like many other churches. There are many retail stall outside selling souvenir. Recommended!

The Anchiskhati Church or the Church of the Virgin Mary is located in the northern part of the Old City and is considered the oldest temple in Tbilisi and the second oldest one in Georgia. The temple got his name in the 17th century, after the icon of the Savior was transferred to the church from the Anchii Cathedral. The church was built in the VI century by the order of the king of Iberia Dachi Ujarmeli, who made Tbilisi the capital of Georgia. Initially, the basilica was built of yellow tuff, but in 1958 the church was restored with an ordinary brick. The church has three entries and only one door is open. The temple is always dark and the atmosphere is mysterious. The walls are covered with frescoes and paintings. The temple was repeatedly destroyed by the Turks and Persians and every time it was restored. In the XVII century, the church was altered, a vault was added to the church, a bell tower and a dome was built. The paintings of the church belong to the XIX century. In the Soviet period, almost all the churches were either closed down or converted to prisons. The Anchiskhati church was converted into a museum of handicrafts. Every year on September 21, the church celebrates the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin.

This is the oldest surviving church in Tbilisi, a place of great historical importance, with its original construction dating back to the 6th century. The architecture is that of a classic three-nave basilica. The exterior is made of stone and has a rustic and simple appearance, very different from the newer cathedrals. Being so old, it has a special charm. It's a worthwhile visit, even if just to admire the facade and its history. Women must cover their heads to enter. Admission is free.

Nestled northwest of Tbilisi, Lake Lisi is a charming medium-sized lake that beckons nature lovers and adventure seekers alike. With its rocky landscape adorned with shrub vegetation, it offers an ideal setting for recreational boating and invigorating hikes. Visitors can enjoy a lovely beach equipped with rescue services, along with bicycle rentals to explore the scenic surroundings. A delightful 4 km circular path encircles the lake, providing ample opportunities for leisurely strolls or energetic runs.
So beautiful and peaceful place with nice restaurants and ice cream places around. And can be visited by bus which is great!
Amira B — Google review
Lisi Lake, located in the northern part of Tbilisi, is a beautiful and peaceful destination that offers a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. I visited on a Saturday afternoon, and although it's a bit outside the city center, getting there was straightforward. You can take a bus that stops near the park, though you’ll need to walk a little to reach the entrance. If you prefer a more active approach, there’s a bike rental shop nearby where you can rent bikes for about 10 GEL per hour. Alternatively, you can walk for about 20 minutes from the main road to the park, which is quite pleasant and gives you a chance to enjoy the surrounding nature. Once inside the park, I was greeted with scenic views of the lake, which makes for an idyllic setting. The area around Lisi Lake is well-maintained, and there’s a relaxed vibe with plenty of space to unwind. A few food stalls are scattered around, which is convenient if you’re in the mood for a snack. I decided to grab a waffle yogurt ice cream from the "Lolly" stall. While it was a bit on the expensive side (around 34 GEL for two), it was a nice treat. I wouldn’t call it extraordinary, but it was a pleasant indulgence, and sometimes it's worth splurging a little when you're out enjoying a peaceful afternoon. The park itself offers a variety of activities for visitors. You can simply sit by the lake and enjoy the natural surroundings, as I did, soaking in the sun and watching people feed the ducks. It's a very laid-back atmosphere, ideal for those looking to relax and enjoy nature without the crowds. The views of the lake, combined with the tranquil setting, make it a perfect spot for an afternoon escape. Whether you're into leisurely walks, quiet reflection, or just enjoying a snack, the place has something to offer. I took a leisurely stroll around the lake and found it to be a great spot for a peaceful walk. The pathways are well-paved and easy to navigate, making it ideal for a relaxed walk or a light bike ride. The surrounding greenery adds to the charm, and it’s hard not to appreciate the serenity of the area. It’s also a family-friendly place, with many people bringing their children and pets for a day out. It’s the kind of place that invites you to slow down, connect with nature, and leave the busy city life behind for a few hours. All in all, Lisi Lake is a wonderful place to visit if you're looking for a peaceful, scenic escape. While the food and activities might not be groundbreaking, the setting and atmosphere make it worthwhile. Whether you’re visiting for a short walk, a relaxing day by the lake, or just to grab a snack, it’s a nice spot to spend a few hours. I would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Tbilisi who wants to enjoy some time in nature, away from the city’s noise.

A lovely afternoon spent at Lake Lisi, a short distance from Tbilisi. The whole area is beautifully kept, with lots of bins and sit down spots around the 3KM walk of the lake. A good range of food and drinks cafes at the entrance, plus a well equipped park for children. Expect to see lots of animals and the lake is great to paddle in. Highly recommend visiting here.
Ellie S — Google review
Very nice place for walking or cycling around the lake. Specially in the morning time when there’s not a lot of people yet. There a good quality line around the lake, where you can walk, run, cycle and etc…. Line around is a bit more than 3,5km long. Views are nice, place is calm. Nature is good. There are some sitting places around, cafes, a restaurant, donuts and some more. There’s a lot of parking here. Paid and free, but It’s hard to find parking on warm weather weekends. Specially summertime. If you want to relax, slowly walk with your friends, change atmosphere after a city traffic jams or even have a dinner with lake views, this place is for you.
Ikako T — Google review
Five stars for sure! A place where you can go with your friends or alone just to look around or have a picnic, you can also buy food there. There are restaurants and the food is good. I hope that many other people go there check out that place and just have a good day.

A good place for walking, cycling in the fresh air, taking out children and pets. There is a wall for children, a bike path, small wooden attractions, a stadium. Restaurant for fame, bar with beautiful open space, huge plant shop, small coffee and fast food shops, ice cream. It is possible to rent a bicycle, quite cheaply, 5 GEL per hour. There is a bicycle lane around the lake, and next to it a large green area, an ideal place for a picnic and tan.

Beautiful place to see the view. Arguably the best view of the city because it's one of the few places that you can see the narikala side from a distance. The balcony is beautiful. Not sure if you can see inside the palace. It was closed when we got there but I took a look inside through the window, it seemed fully furnished...

Gallery 27 is a charming souvenir shop located in Tbilisi, showcasing an array of handcrafted goods from around 300 entrepreneurs. The store's name pays homage to its small size, but don't let that deter you from exploring its treasures. From beaded jewelry and notebooks adorned with Georgian alphabet letters to traditionally decorated tablecloths, the shop offers a diverse selection of items.
🎨 Gallery 27, Tbilisi – another dream spot ticked off my list! ✨ Here I met the wonderful team of BAMOHANDMADE, a woodworking family that brings life and colors into art. 🌿🪵 Their eco-friendly creations are inspired by Georgian culture, with every tiny handmade wooden house telling a story of tradition and craftsmanship. 🏠💛 Watching the artists at work, carefully painting and shaping each detail, was pure magic – and meeting them in person was the best bonus! 🌟 They even let me film the process and shared insights about their art. A true hidden gem for every traveler & art lover. ✨

First of all this location is not the original legacy place. It took us ~20 min to get in just because they open late. Stuff are like handcrafted found in other local markets but a bit finer and pricier. Could worth a visit but don't expect much. No ticket needed.

Unfortunately, I was really looking forward to visiting on my return from Betlemi Rise and buying few pieces from this place. I arrived slightly before 12 pm, but it was then past that time and it was not open. I decided to wander around the street and came back later — I rang the bell twice, but no one answered. I even tried opening the door several times surely there must be another system in place if the gallery is open to the public. I even asked a local for help, and they were actually more helpful than the gallery itself. It’s a shame, as I really wanted to visit, and it was my last day in Tbilisi so ended up buying some pieces from Meidan bazar. Perhaps being a bit more welcoming and attentive to visitors would make a big difference.

This is a very cute gallery located near the Old City, however extremely overpriced. The same hair pins I bought from an artisan at the Christmas Market were priced for three times the cost at Gallery 27. (I bought mine for 30 GEL at the Christmas market and the same thing was 90 GEL at the gallery). Unless you’re willing to pay $40 USD for a plastic beaded pin, I wouldn’t recommend buying souvenirs here. The galley cat however is really cute.

Great experience to view the entire city from up the hill. Be careful as the map shows the location of the topmost point which is 1km hike up the stairs. On the way up you can also visit the church and turtle lake point if on foot. It is also possible to buy one way ticket for 3lari and enjoy both the routes. If you wish to take the cable car from down you should visit the rikh garden and buy tickets from there. Round trip costs 3.5lari.

Nestled in the Old Town of Tbilisi, the Betlemi Street Stairs offer a hidden gem for those willing to seek it out. Starting from Asatiani Street in Sololaki, this uphill thoroughfare leads you to Betlemi Rise, a charming garden terrace with benches and vine-covered trellises. While the staircase itself may not hold historical significance, the reward at the top is well worth it - an observation deck boasting breathtaking views of Tbilisi.
A pleasant walk through the old town to Mother of Georgia statue. I walked from Meidan Bazaar to Mother of Georgia via Ovanes Tumaniani St, Ovanes Tumaniani Turn, Gomi St, Askana St and then stairs and walking trail from Upper Betlemi Church.
Sharon S — Google review
The Betlemi Street Stairs in Tbilisi offer one of the most picturesque and historic routes to explore Old Tbilisi, with each step bringing you closer to the soul of the city. Situated in the old neighborhood on the slopes of Sololaki Hill, the stairs connect lower streets with the higher vantage points of Tbilisi, ultimately leading to the Betlemi Church and the famous Narikala Fortress. Historically, these stairs were a vital pathway for locals to move between the upper and lower parts of the city, and today, they remain a beloved route for both residents and tourists to experience the charm of Old Tbilisi on foot. To reach the Betlemi Street Stairs, you can begin from the central parts of Old Tbilisi, such as Abanotubani, the famous district known for its sulfur baths. From here, it’s a short walk towards the base of Sololaki Hill. The stairs themselves are easy to find, and they begin just past the Meidan Square, leading upwards through narrow, winding alleyways. As you ascend, you’re treated to breathtaking views of the city, with traditional wooden houses, colorful balconies, and cobblestone paths giving the area a unique architectural charm. The stairs themselves are steep in some sections, but they’re well-maintained, and the climb is worth the effort. Historically, Betlemi Street and the stairs were named after the Betlemi Church (or Bethlehem Church), which was built in the 18th century. The area was once a melting pot of different cultures and communities, and the stairs played a key role in connecting people living on the hill with those in the lower parts of Tbilisi. The streets around Betlemi have always been alive with the hustle and bustle of everyday Georgian life, and today, you can still catch glimpses of that energy as you walk up. It’s easy to imagine how traders, artisans, and families used these stairs daily in centuries past. As you continue to climb, you’ll notice that the Betlemi Street Stairs offer more than just a way to reach higher ground. Along the way, you’ll encounter charming courtyards, hidden cafes, and art galleries tucked into the old buildings. These small businesses add character to the area and offer opportunities to rest, sip on a coffee, or browse local art. Each stop along the stairs invites you to slow down and appreciate the details of this historic neighborhood. Reaching the top of the Betlemi Street Stairs rewards you with panoramic views of Tbilisi, especially from the vantage point near the Narikala Fortress. Whether you come to admire the architecture, explore the history, or simply enjoy the climb, the Betlemi Street Stairs provide a journey through time and a chance to experience the layered history and beauty of Old Tbilisi.

Maybe instead of climbing to the top by these stairs, just use the cable car to the mother of Georgia by the Rike Park and go down by the stairs. It provides beautiful views and photographic streets. There are two churches that you might checkout too.
Can A — Google review
My path up to see the Mother of Georgia. There were only a few sets of steps up to the top, and they offered increasingly grand views of Old Tbilisi, and ultimately the whole city.
Matt B — Google review
Nice view on the top, when it's hot or you simply don't want to walk; you can take the cable cars up.

Beautiful, cozy spot to visit. If you go up the stairs there are really nice views of Tbilisi

I didn’t walk all the way up the stairs the time I visited but it’s no doubt an incredible and low traffic scenic spot in the city. Worth checking out and exploring where the stairs take you.

The Tbilisi State Academy of Arts, established in 1928, is not only a prestigious educational institution but also home to a remarkable museum. The museum features an extensive collection of artworks donated by both students and professors. What sets this academy apart is its association with Georgia's renowned artists who have either taught or studied here. Housed in a stunning building that blends Eastern and European architectural styles, the academy's museum occupies the mirrored halls once belonging to Tbilisi's premier ballet academy.
This is a hidden gem in Tbilisi. The Academy of Arts is housed in an old mansion, inside of which is a palace of mirrors in the Persian style. Well worth seeing.
Ted H — Google review
Two of rooms not open so 12 LAR entrance feels bad value for 3 small rooms. No shop. Stunning ceilings.
Joshua S — Google review
I’ve never felt more disappointed and misled by a supposed “art academy” in my life. The Tbilisi Academy of Arts turned out to be a complete scam. There was virtually no actual art to see, and many rooms were shut – after we had already paid. There were no labels or descriptions on anything, not even the mirrors, which made it impossible to understand what we were looking at (if anything at all). When we asked the reception lady for basic information, she was rude, dismissive, and completely unhelpful Even worse, the behavior from staff felt discriminatory and racist, which made the entire experience not only frustrating but also extremely uncomfortable. Don’t waste your time or money of 12 liras per person here. There is no transparency, no professionalism, and no respect for visitors. You’re better off walking through the streets of Tbilisi for free – you’ll see more real art
Manjunath V — Google review
Architecture is impressive, but keep in mind that currently part of an exhibition is closed (which isn't reflected in the price & no one tells you this when buying the ticket). So it costs 12 GEL to visit 5 rooms in 10 minutes.
Janja Š — Google review
Impressive. Hours of operation are arbitrary, however, you might have to come back later. If you are on a budget, you can get away with looking at the first room, as the cash desk is in the second one. They will charge the full price, even though a large part of the place is closed off to the public, which feels a little scammy.
Andrej Č — Google review
İts amazing place we wanted to visit so much but it was closed. When we asked there is no specificate time but arround 1 month they said. So visitors beaware to not waste your time ı hope this review will be helpfull.
Ali Z — Google review
There is nothing to see, only a tiny part of one floor. They don’t tell you this when you pay for your ticket. What a rip off!
Sandra — Google review
Honestly I don't think it's worth the time or 12 gel (for foreigners). The rooms are very pretty but there's almost nothing in them. I was in and out in 5 minutes. We went earlier in the day to the Art Palace and thought it was far better -- way more art, great written explanations (including interesting info on the repatriation of art), in a beautiful building, all for 5 gel.

The Flower Market is a charming spot located near major attractions and public transportation in Tbilisi. Despite its small size, the market offers a wide variety of flowers and plants, making it an ideal place to pick up a vibrant bouquet or some greenery for your home. While some visitors find the prices to be on the higher side, many appreciate the stunning flower arrangements available. The surrounding area boasts numerous cafes and restaurants, providing ample opportunities to relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings.
Nice little market to pass by too because the location is close to a really big Carrefour, Liberty Square, Orbeliani Square, nearby are a decent amount of bus stops, and a few restaurants. It’s a small market but the selection of flowers is quite vast ranging from smaller, bigger, more vibrant colors, less vibrantly colored flowers, etc. So you really can’t go wrong if you want to buy a bouquet. I noticed they also sell plants on the side as well.
Xoom T — Google review
The flower market in the center of Tbilisi was a bit underwhelming. It’s smaller than I expected, and when we visited in the middle of the day, about half of the vendors weren’t there. There wasn’t anything particularly unique or special—just a standard market.

The Flower Market in Tbilisi is absolutely beautiful! It’s in Old Tbilisi, near the old city wall, is absolutely beautiful! It’s full of vibrant colours, lovely scents, and friendly vendors who make the place feel so welcoming. A perfect spot to enjoy a walk, take photos, or pick up fresh flowers bouquet while exploring the city, everything feels lively and full of local charm. 💐

Freedom Square, located at the terminus of Rustaveli Avenue in Tbilisi, underwent a transformation during the Soviet Union era. The modern square is now home to various government and administrative buildings. One of its notable features is a 30-meter monument consisting of a statue of St. George atop a tall column. Adjacent to the square is Pushkin Park, making the neighborhood an interesting area to explore while not necessarily being visually stunning.

Perched atop Mount Mtatsminda in Tbilisi, the renowned Funicular restaurant offers a stunning and elegant dining experience. With modern decor and a spacious terrace, it provides a perfect setting for enjoying Georgian and oriental cuisine, including vegetarian and meat dishes. The menu features famous dishes like steak, fried lamb, cheese pies, and oysters. This 4-star establishment is equipped with electronic payment options, disabled-friendly facilities, free parking, and internet access.
We had an amazing evening at Funicular! We came for a birthday and the staff were extremely helpful and accommodating, going above and beyond to make the evening special. They brought out a cake and card that I delivered prior and gave us a wonderful table, thank you to Anastasia for this! The menu has plenty of options but is focused and not overwhelming in anyway, they are specialised in the dishes they offer. Presentation is that of a Michelin star restaurant and ingredient quality is amazing. A restaurant like this in Western Europe would easily cost €500+, especially somewhere like Paris or London. The feel is very elegant and classy, yet very much affordable for most people in comparison to similar restaurants in Western Europe. Food, views, ambience and service were all spectacular - I highly recommend this restaurant, especially for a special occasion if you want an evening to remember!

Hard to rate but let me explain. For our last evening in the city we decided to experience this unique location and restaurant with high expectations. The view is indeed amazing and the interior looks stunning yet a bit old fashioned. All fine, good menu and selection of wines. But: Eggplant starter was not cooked till tender and rather raw and odd to eat/cut. Vegetarian platter surprised positively. Salmon steak was overcooked and pea mash rather unseasoned. Also the pork ribs were a shame. Way more bone than any meat and felt like they were cooked like 2-3 hours ago, set aside and waited until someone ordered. Good rips are in my opinion when you can easily pull the bone but here not even tissues were served if you were to eat by hands (not done). Potates got all the seasoning and were cold and way to seasoned. Also there was a big party in the last room next to main room but the music was so loud, that you could barely hear each other. Other guests with gala dresses and suits were also surprised negatively and for us this killed the whole vibe. We did not order dessert or further wine and really looked forward to leaving. Normally I am not that harsh in rating but for an upscale unique spot in the heart of Georgia with this view and prices on the higher end this was not acceptable. Next time better skip on restaurant and experience the fun park nearby or the view alone.
Oliver O — Google review
I booked a table at the restaurant in advance to celebrate birthday with a beautiful view of the city. I even mentioned birthday date in the reservation. Did I receive any compliment or at least a couple of nice words of congratulations? – No! Did I get the promised panoramic view? – No, we were seated at the other end of the hall, almost by the wall (they told us it was also a window – but that “view” was only of overturned chairs in the backyard). The prices are way too high. We ordered exactly the same bottle of wine in a very good restaurant in the city for 32 GEL, while here it cost 90. I’m willing to pay for service, view, and atmosphere – but sitting in the corner without a view and drinking wine priced 3x higher was a terrible experience.
Mariia — Google review
The Funicular Restaurant is hands down one of the most iconic dining spots in all of Tbilisi — and for good reason. From the moment you step inside, you're hit with this perfect blend of elegance, history, and insane views. Whether you're here for a romantic dinner, a family meal, or just treating yourself (because why not?), this place makes every visit feel special. Let’s talk food: absolutely delicious. Every dish we tried was beautifully presented and packed with flavor — from classic Georgian dishes like khinkali and khachapuri to more refined mains and desserts. The service was just as good — attentive but not overbearing, with staff who know the menu and make great recommendations. But the real flex here? The view. The restaurant sits high on Mtatsminda, and the massive windows give you a front-row seat to the Tbilisi skyline. If you time it around sunset or stay until the city lights come on, it’s honestly breathtaking. Yes, it’s a bit on the pricier side for Tbilisi, but 100% worth it for the full experience. Great food, classy atmosphere, and the best view in town — 5 stars, no doubt.

My wife and I had a really nice time with wonderful local food and excellent red wine that was well recommended by the young waiter. The service was good. On a side note, the place had a little something that felt like the Grand Budapest Hotel - if you've seen the movie and do visit the place you'll most likely understand what I mean.
Alexis M — Google review
The view is undeniably the highlight—breathtaking and worth the trip up alone. The restaurant itself is relatively elegant but the food and service don’t quite match the setting. Quite overpriced for what you get - it’s just a typical Georgian restaurant serving typical Georgian food with a view. However there are so many tourists that the view itself gets obstructed and it gets very noisy and busy. I’ve been here twice last month and I only have one picture so that says enough about both the food and the atmosphere

Barbarestan is a charming family restaurant that offers a taste of traditional Georgian cuisine based on the 19th-century recipes of renowned chef Barbare Jorjadze. The timeless decor, with soft yellow lighting, vintage pottery, and lace tablecloths, creates an inviting atmosphere. The menu features forgotten yet delicious Georgian dishes made from local ingredients.
Fine dining, Georgian style! I needed a special venue for a birthday dinner celebration. I was curious whether Barbarestan would live up to its rating and reputation - it did! Attentive service, appealing decor, wonderful food. I don’t normally ‘wow!’ at salad but the sophisticated cucumber & tomato starter was indeed a wow. Sea bass main was divine (I’m told - my partner loved it so much she didn’t let me try it!). Chicken in tomato sauce with cheese crust was very tasty. Sensational white wine to accompany. But perhaps the best was an apple desert with a sour cherry coulis that had us virtually licking the plate. Knockout! Overall: expensive but very much worth it.

A little gem hidden in Georgia. Staff knowledge of the food is very good and the Georgia dishes are well curated and presented. Taste and presentation were perfect. This was dinner on our first night in Tbilisi and it blew us away. The service is outstanding. They are beyond attentive and accommodating and so polite. Everything was done for us. The food- just incredible. The eggplant Guptas with green sauce was so good we wanted to order it twice. The flavors are so unique , we talked about going back again the very next night. Do not miss this place while in Tbilisi

Excellent services by the staff. They were very welcoming, attentive and polite. Table manners were followed. Live music by great musicians and singers. For starters: We ordered Eggplant Guptas and Fried Balls. Both were delicious. For mains: We ordered Chicken Chakhikhbili, Chemqva and Mutton Cooked in Milk, Roasted Pig and Beef Tenderloin by Kakhetian Whey. Our favorite were roasted pig and beef Tenderloin. Both were cooked nicely and juicy. For the chicken and Mutton, we felt that the sauce was too salty, which overpowered the meats. The meats were cooked nicely and tender. Perhaps, separating the sauce would be better so that the customer can control how much they want (like how it was done to the pig and beef). Pinecone Dessert: It was okay. We couldn't ascertain what taste it wanted to present, as there were too many tastes all over the place.

This restaurant was nothing short of amazing. I found Barbarestan through Google and was not disappointed! To begin with, the reservation process was amazing with very personalized follow-ups and check-ins prior to my arrival. As I walked in the door, they greeted me by name (maybe I was the last reservation at that time slot to show up). Everything about the service screamed top-notch. The food definitely did not disappoint. These are Georgian dishes that have been up-leveled to something completely amazing. The attention to detail, presenation, and the taste are all without comparison on my trip to Tbilisi. I started with the Eggplant "Guptas" with Greens Sauce. This was a flavor profile so delicious I could have eaten this the whole night. The smokiness of the eggplant, paired with the tangy greens sauce really kicked things off on a high note. The second starter I ordered was on the more traditional line, dambalkhacho, which is hot melted cheese paired with sweet jellies to offset the heaviness of the cheese. Additionally there were breads provided that you could use for dipping or scooping the cheese. If you're a cheese lover, this dish is definitely for you and it is completely authentic to Georgia. For my main dish, I ordered the Chicken "Chakhokhbili". This dish again is an upgrade to a traditional Georgian dish, combining breading and cheese on top of an amazing chicken stew. Everything about the dish was delicious and fulfilling. Despite absolutely stuffing myself, I knew I couldn't leave without trying one of the desserts. For uniqueness, I went with the Pinecone Dessert. It was different, delcious, and defintely picture-worthy. I would 100% order this again, despite the other desserts looking delicious as well. Additionally, they have a great wine menu. Being mostly unfamiliar with Georgian wines, I let the waiter pick for me and it was absolutely delicious. Overall, the service, food, ambiance and presentation give this restaurant a Michelin-quality that should bring the guides to Georgia soon. Check it out before the word gets out!

A wonderful experience. From the moment we were welcomed, we felt the amazing service, the atmosphere, the decoration, the musicians who played amazingly, and the food was simply wow. From the wonderful first course, beef tartare, through the cauliflower, and then the amazing sea bass fillet. Everything was fine dining, great flavors, and the service was superb. Of course, we immediately booked a place again for a few more , days. A dream of a restaurant Highly recommended while you visit Tibilisi

The atmosphere perfectly balances sophistication and comfort — warm lighting, elegant décor, and just the right level of background music to let conversation flow easily. The service was impeccable. Our server was attentive without being intrusive, genuinely knowledgeable about the menu, and made thoughtful recommendations that turned out to be spot on. Every member of the staff seemed to take real pride in what they do, which made the entire evening feel seamless and welcoming. As for the food — simply outstanding. Every dish was a masterpiece, both visually and in flavor. “Tutmaji” was rich, perfectly balanced, and beautifully presented. ABSOLUTE SERVICE 👐!

Svetitskhoveli Cathedral, located in Mtskheta, is an iconic 11th-century Eastern Orthodox cathedral that holds significant historical and religious importance. It serves as the burial site for Georgian kings and is believed to be constructed on the burial site of Jesus's robe. The cathedral was built in 337 AD after Georgia declared Christianity as its official religion, following the advice of St. Nino to King Mirian.
This is one of the most important and impressive cathedrals in the country, considered the spiritual center of Georgia. It is a beautiful place, both inside and out. The exterior architecture, with its sand-toned stones and detailed carvings, is grandiose and dates back to the 11th century. The interior is equally fascinating, with a solemn atmosphere, ancient frescoes on the walls, and architecture that impresses with its height and details. According to tradition, this is where Christ's robe is buried. It is a UNESCO World Heritage site and, without a doubt, a mandatory visit. Admission is free.

It’s tucked away in a courtyard and features a lovely terrace — perfect for enjoying a meal outdoors, especially on a warm evening. The restaurant is quite spacious, offering both indoor seating and a charming outdoor area. The food is absolutely delicious! Everything is made with care and full of flavor. The khachapuri is magical — some of the best I’ve ever had. The Georgian wine is rich, aromatic, and pairs beautifully with the dishes. An ideal spot to experience real Georgian cuisine without the touristy feel. I’ll definitely be coming back and recommending it to friends.

If you’re on foot, Google Maps will send you to an entrance that doesn’t exist. Then, when you climb a hill and finally think you’ve got it right, you’ll end up on a weird street and start wondering again if you’re in the right place. After going down the street and taking a small alley, you’ll realize — yes, this is it. Despite the little struggle to find it, it’s one of the few restaurants in Tbilisi where people will actually smile at you and serve you with joy. Order as much as you want — they offer takeaway for leftovers. Don’t skip the pkhali mix and the pulled beef. Perfect. Oh, and make a reservation in advance, or they’ll seat you at a communal table — which wasn’t a problem for me, but the couple next to me looked pretty annoyed (should’ve booked ahead, honeeey)

Amazing restaurant! Quit hidden…but worth a visit! It’s expensive for Georgia but absolutely delicious and the staff and the atmosphere is amazing! We had the homemade lemonade, the khinkali, a salad and the mushrooms. We were lucky to get a table because we arrived quite early for dinner…but I recommend to reserve a table:)

Food was very good, but unfortunately it was overshadowed by the poor service. They were incredibly slow. After ordering, it took about 40 minutes for our starter to arrive, which was a salad with a little piece of bread. We asked our server about how many salads to order (since we were five adults), and our server said that one salad would be enough for all five of us. As soon as it arrived, we could see it was far too little to share, so we immediately ordered another salad and more bread. About 30 minutes later, our main courses finally came. They tasted amazing, but the portions were tiny. The extra salad and bread we ordered never arrived. Considering everything, the ambiance in the restaurant and the taste of the food is great. But the service is awful, and the servers are very inattentive. Its a shame, since the food was excellent and the restaurant is very charming. We were expecting more from such an upscale restaurant.

A beautiful romantic dinner. Very good wines. We loved the assortment of pkhali and the charcoal chicken. The cheese khinkali ended up being our least favorite (maybe we just prefer the meat version). If you can dine outside the view is nice, but the interior is also beautiful. Pricey for Georgia, but as a foreigner used to high prices it was worth it.

The Museum of Illusions Tbilisi is a captivating destination that invites visitors into a whimsical realm filled with optical illusions and mind-bending displays. Located in the heart of Old Town on Betlemi Street, this museum offers an engaging experience for all ages, making it perfect for families and friends alike. As you wander through its mirror rooms and vortex tunnel, you'll discover interactive exhibits designed to challenge your perception and spark curiosity.
It's alright, but for the cost in comparison to other things in Georgia, it seemed out of place. The experiences were enjoyable, but 90% of what is offered can be found online with the same benefits. I used to be familiar with the majority of the illusions, despite not being an optical illusion enthusiast. There are some puzzles, interactive elements, and picture spots. The museum is divided into two sections, one with uninspiring projections and the other with more engaging interactive exhibits, the latter of which I would urge you to visit. Oh, and the Google translate-level effort was only half as entertaining as the English signs.

"Fun and Mind-Bending Experience!" ★★★★☆ I had a great time at the Museum of Illusion in Tbilisi! The exhibits are creative and interactive, offering plenty of opportunities for cool photos and brain-teasing experiences. The staff is friendly and helpful, and everything is well-organized. It's a bit smaller than I expected, which is the only reason I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5. But overall, it's a fantastic place to visit with friends or family for a fun and unique experience. Definitely worth a stop if you're in Tbilisi!
Dushyant R — Google review
There’s a Digital Museum and Museum of illusions (they cost 35Gel each). I opted for the digital one and it’s not for me. There are just 1D moving picture projections on the hallway and walls, a mirror projections which are the coolest thing there. A walk through was less than 3min in honesty but I tried to go slower (mainly to spend more time cooling down) but there isn’t much to see. There are 3 ladies in the reception area. I went up to greet them and it was as if I had said the most absurd thing ever 🤣🤣 (I said “hi” with a smile in the nicest way possible). The one who was infront of the counter (long dark hair, looks young / late teen) responded with a smile, the other behind the counter maintained a sour face with a borderline eye roll (think teenage attitude), the other one next to her remained blank faced. I truly understand how dealing with people may be hard but damn 🙂 The place is easy to get to, once you walk through the digital part, you are led straight into the illusion part (which is why I didn’t understand why they were priced separately since they are designed for one to lead into the next). I turned back because I didn’t pay for that side and had no interest in the illusion part anyway. I would not recommend this place at all. The illusion part MAY be fun for little kids to take pictures they’ll appreciate (as I’ve seen a few in other countries), but that’s it.

My family (two adults and a 9-year-old) visited (april 2025) this small but entertaining museum. While pricy for its size, it’s a fun stop for kids or a rainy day. The interactive illusions and puzzles kept us engaged, though some exhibits felt familiar if you’ve explored optical illusions before. Highlights included the photo-worthy displays and hands-on activities. Staff were friendly, and signs were in Georgian, English, and Russian. Downsides? The space is compact (three small floors), and the value feels lower compared to other Georgian attractions. Worth a quick visit with young children, but manage expectations on size and depth. We paid 155 lari for both Museums, they didn't give us a receipt which was suprising even after asking for one.

Yes it’s a fun place of course. But if I am paying 35 laris for a bunch of pictures. I would at least expect to experience it fully. All of the puzzles had missing pieces or they were missing fully. Light room had one of the lights broken. The place was smaller than i expected. If you have a kid i guess it would be fun but it’s too expensive for bunch of broken, missing pieces.
Zeynep K — Google review
It's a nice place to visit if you have some extra time to spend. I found it a bit expensive for what it offers. It's a small museum if you want to call it a museum. But you will get some really cool photos if that's what you are in to.
Alper G — Google review
Nice for a day for quick day out, interesting puzzles to do and illusions too see - you can also the staff for help and they will help you figure things out if you need too. Price was 25 lari per person, no need to prebook tickets, it wasn’t very busy. Recommend if you are in the area and what to kill some time and do something a little different! But it’s the kinda place you go see once, but don’t need to visit again.
The M — Google review
"This attraction is surprisingly small and somewhat frivolous, making its hefty price tag of 110 lari feel thoroughly unjustified. To add to the disappointment, some of the games and photos are repeated, allowing you to breeze through the entire tour in a mere 12 minutes. The brevity and lack of original content make it feel like a rip-off, leaving me to wonder how they justify such an exorbitant admission fee for so little substance."

Review: Tbilisi Opera and Ballet Strikingly one of the most fascinating Ballets ever witnessed. On a sunny, Sunday afternoon in Tbilisi, the place to be wasn’t to be found outside. Right off Rustaveli Ave is located the Opera and Ballet Theatre of Tbilisi. A local, ballerina, influencer had posted a flyer on Insta about the performance by the Tbilisi Opera and Ballet, and being a huge fan of all things artsy, a couple of questions were sent her way. Serendipitously she replied, sharing some insights. Ticket in hand, I wandered into the massive, Neo-Moorish styled structure with all the other lovers of the arts. The facade of the interior is something straight out of the Great Gatsby…a definite must-see while in Tbilisi. Sitting in one of the boxes alongside the stage provided the perfect opportunity to witness this truly unique experience- unique is the perfect word for Alexander Krein Laurencia’s Ballet, which is based on the novel Fuente Ovejuna by Lope de Vega. The most amazing part of the performance was the ‘Gypsy Dance’ performed by Tata Jashi, Luka Gedekhauri and Sergey Petrosian. Of all the ballets taken in around the world from New York to Paris…Vienna included, witnessing a Gypsy dance was a profound alteration to the traditional Italian Renaissance performance. The combination of color, dynamic movements, and sheer originality won over this cultural art lover! A wonderful experience to be had…and one even a perfect Sunday in the sun couldn’t compete with! Cheers to the Director of the Ballet Company, Nina Ananiashvili, and to the Artistic Director of the Theatre, Badri Maisuradze, and the ballet company on a job well done! Bravo! - Knowmad Press

Well this is absolutely must visit place in Tbilisi. Whether you are opera and ballet aficionado or just a visitor. The design and architecture is masterpiece and the performance is the joy to your eyes.

The lady at the box office was courteous and helpful with English. 15 August 2023 I purchased a ticket for the 16 September performance. The only program available at this time. Many good seats remain available. Above the box office window is a video screen showing the available seats and their price. Box office opens 11am. Wicopedia informs: An exotic Moorish Revival edifice originally constructed by a prominent architect of Baltic German origin. The building's layout, foyers and the main hall are that of a typical European opera house. (It was originally purpose built on this site in 1851.) At another visit I especially enjoyed their modern costumed rendition of Carmen performed in 2023.

Such a nice looking building from which I like the architecture a lot and being in the center is also great. There is a nice park nearby and I like spending some time there. Can recommend checking it out but sadly I wasn't able to watch a show. Also the night lighting is great.
Backpackingpeanuts — Google review
A wonderful night at the opera and ballet theatre. The theatre itself is beautiful and interesting to look around. We watch the New Year Gala, it was very well put together and all cast were very very talented. I will be definitely coming back to watch another production soon.
Harvey S — Google review
Very beautiful theater! By Danish standards the ballet tickets were cheap (60 GEL), and I would recommend checking if anything is showing while you visit Tbilisi. If they are sold out online, you can try to box on the right side of the building. They have extra tickets. Doors open about 45 minutes before the show, and you cannot bring wine glasses into the theater.
Sebastian — Google review
Liked it, even though the sound quality and volume should probably be more distributed and enhanced. We were there for "Samson and Delilah Opera", the show was long, the 2nd act is slow and somehow boring, but then the actions after were always interesting.

The Dezerter Bazaar in Tbilisi is a bustling indoor marketplace offering an authentic Georgian experience. It's filled with a vibrant array of stalls selling fresh produce like seasonal fruits, vegetables, spices, and local delicacies such as Sulguni cheese and pickles. In addition to the food offerings, visitors can also find handcrafted souvenirs, traditional clothing, and artisanal crafts.
A must see in the city. A great reality check for people used to buying neatly wrapped meat and veg. Great spices. Walnuts. Yes, buy. But walk about and just absorb and you see. The produce colors are vibrant. People are friendly. It also a great place to watch people, especially those doing their shopping. Elegantly dress women who clearly dress for and represent a different era. And expand a block or so to see all the other sellers in the area. So much to see.

Beautiful, varied, delicious and cheap fruits for simple, smiling and beautiful people. A beautiful experience, but not on a hot day. Try the apricots. Not a pleasant place for everyone, but it was a beautiful experience for me personally. Don't forget to buy walnuts and nuts with the fruits there.

Dezerter bazaar is a local market. It is huge and full of fresh fruits, vegetables, spices, cheeses, and many other local products. The atmosphere is bustling and a bit chaotic. Prices are good and the variety is impressive. It’s worth visiting if you want to experience local culture beyond the usual tourist spots.

Dezerter Bazaar is a traditional Georgian market that’s definitely worth visiting. It’s full of vibrant stalls selling fresh fruits, cheese, meat, spices, churchkhela, wine, and all sorts of local goods. You can find some of the best-quality products here. If you’re in Tbilisi, make sure to stop by this market — it’s an experience you shouldn’t miss!

Amazing Bazar! Tons of local merchendize, authentic shops with fruits, vegetables, meat and cheese. Also there's a second hand clothes shops, with many high quality selection. I do recommend arrive with a local guide or a Russian speaking person

Go and get some fresh and delicious figs. If it's season, no real need for anything else. Maybe Feijoa is also one of the best places in the Tbilisi center to get. And in the case you need to sharpen something, this guy near the entrance will serve you in best traditions.
Janis O — Google review
If you are from out of town, remember to negotiate. After all, I think the price of 15 lari for figs is not right. I have always bought 5-8 lari. It's just a good place to learn about the local people's eating habits, and the sugar in the picture is delicious. I highly recommend it.

This is our favorite place to buy vegetables, fruits and greens. Comparing to regular shops, the prices are really good and the quality is fantastic (no half-rotten veggies like in almost every supermarket). Be careful though, not every seller is an honest one, some will try to trick you into paying more, so my recommendation is to find the good ones and stick to them (we have 3-4 sellers that we trust and always buy from them). You can find stuff like kale, sorrel and other thing that which you won't find in a regular shop. Get big bags before going there - you'll definitely want to buy a lot of stuff.

Art Museums
Nestled in the heart of Tbilisi, the Georgian Museum of Fine Arts stands as a testament to the vibrant artistic legacy of Georgia. Founded by art enthusiasts Gia Jokhtaberidze and Manana Shevardnadze, this privately-owned institution boasts an impressive collection exceeding 3,500 pieces from over 80 artists. The museum's mission is to celebrate and preserve Georgian art, showcasing works that span from the 20th century to contemporary times.
The Fine Arts Museum was, indeed, a pleasant surprise. Brightly lit, modern, and thoughtfully curated, it features a wide range of artworks in various styles by Georgian artists. The sheer number of pieces on display can feel overwhelming, with floors 3 through 5 filled with compelling exhibits—far more than I expected. I took the elevator to the top and made my way down using the glass staircases. While visually striking, walking on the glass steps wasn’t the most enjoyable experience.
Kye — Google review
The Georgian Museum of Fine Arts is a great museum that celebrates the art of a nation. Having expected much less, I was pleasantly surprised by the breadth and the richness of the collection. It definitely opened my eyes, challenged my mind and helped me get rid of preconceived notions about art in smaller countries.
Georges Y — Google review
A private museum founded on the collection of a husband and wife. It is very thought-provoking and enjoyable. I really enjoyed the selected works. Even more interesting were the glass stairs in this cave, which created a sense of uncertainty, even though it was very solid and you shouldn't have been afraid and confident. For me, it was like the impact of art on society. There is a sense of uncertainty or neglect, whereas it is very reliable and one should trust art.
Golafrouz A — Google review
We only had time to visit one museum in Tbilisi and we’re very glad we whose Georgian Museum of Fine Arts. The building itself is like a piece of art. Inside the atmosphere is cool and calm, quite a contrast from the outside. We visited on a Tuesday afternoon and the museum was very quiet and empty. Plenty of space and colourful artworks. Ticket at the venue costs 30 GEL.
Petra Z — Google review
The building itself is absolutely beautiful, and the collection is really well presented. The paintings are striking, and despite some critiques I’d read beforehand, I actually thought the curation was thoughtful and engaging, and if I was rating only that I would give it 5 stars. The design of the space adds to the experience, though I have to admit the glass stairwell in the center is a bit intimidating. Unfortunately, the experience was let down by the staff. Almost all of the custodians I passed were glued to their phones, but what stood out the most was on the top floor (5th floor): two young women who worked there were pacing around and speaking so loudly that they became the loudest people in the museum—louder than children, which was shocking. Their constant loud talking was extremely distracting and really took away from the atmosphere. In all my visits to museums around the world, I’ve never experienced anything quite like that, and it seriously diminished the overall experience. All in all, I would recommend taking noise cancellation headphones or earplugs with you if you want to truly immerse yourself in the beautiful exhibition.
Ena B — Google review
The Georgian Museum of Fine Arts looks impressive from the outside. The modern architecture, clean lines, and striking design make it stand out in the city.

This Museum surprised us in the best possible way. The art is so fascinating that it took us 3 hours to complete the 5th floor! The museum is very well organised and we had the best experience. The staff are friendly and accommodating. It's a must-go for all art lovers!

Cafe Daphna Tbilisi, also known as კაფე დაფნა თბილის, is a modern restaurant with stylish interiors that resemble some of the best dining spots in London.
Hard to find really great places at the center of Tbilisi with it being so touristic but this place was a great find! Best khinkali we had for sure, nice refreshing salads, great pastries. The place was nicely designed with great atmosphere and the staff were super friendly. I highly recommend it if you want a benchmark for amazing khinkali!
Mish W — Google review
I saw this restaurant in a documentary and also the reviews in general and I must say that it was ok, not what the people described. Great ambient and location but the food was not amazing, it was good yes but not blowing my mind and the prices are high for Georgia. The salad was almost empty, just a few peces of cheese and beetroot… all green color. Good idea of dessert with the pumpkin.
Jesica L — Google review
Cafe Daphna was one of the coziest and most pleasant restaurants in Tbilisi, in my opinion. At first, we had to wait a bit since it was quite crowded, but it was worth it. We ordered a khachapuri, meat khinkali, and potato khinkali. The khachapuri was absolutely amazing — super tasty with perfectly baked dough. The meat khinkali was also great; the meat was fresh and had some herbs inside that made it really unique. But the potato khinkali wasn’t good at all — we didn’t like it. The staff were friendly, and the interior decor was beautiful. Overall, if I come back to Tbilisi, I’ll definitely choose this place again! 🌿
Erfaneh S — Google review
We didnt have to wait long to be seated. Busy restaurant with locals dining and enjoying their khinkalis. Welcoming and attentive staff. Good quality of food and fast delivery. Any amount of khinkali can be ordered, no minimum numbers like other restaurant, which is great! Though, the chicken with nut sauce portion seems too little.
Peacey B — Google review
Went to Cafe Daphna after seeing it on social media. It has a reputation of serving the best khinkali in Tbilisi from what I could the tell. The cafe is cozy and nice to sit it. The coffee was good, but the dumplings seemed average to me. They were certainly good, but nothing to be hyped over. A good place to visit for a quick bite to eat if you are in the neighborhood.
Nikola M — Google review
We've had the Khinkali dumplings, and it's very delicious. It was one of the tastiest we've had in the city. The tomato and cucumber salad was also really delicious, but it was really big for two people. Because we visited at 11am when it just opened and it was raining, there was no queue at all. However, if we've had to queue up for a long time for this, it might not have been worth it.

I didn’t enjoy the beef soup at all ( real waste of money) khinkali is ok but blue cheese khinkali is very good went their twice once it was a nice experience but the next time super disappointing. By the way ribs with Ajika is a good option too.

It is a nice place if you come here not solely the view of the Narikala Fortress. There is also a playful dog who will want tummy rubs when it comes to you. Please pet it for me. It will also try to follow you when you try to leave the area and would cry when you leave. The church offers you a view of the city. I think tourists don’t usually come here because of how steep the road on the way here is? Or that it is not clear on the map where the viewpoint is located exactly? We for sure had a hard time finding this place on our own if not for the hotel reception helping us. We mostly see fellow tourists take the cable ride to the Narikala Fortress from Rike Park. When we visited nobody was around.
Joel D — Google review
One of the mountains which Tbilisi lays on is named Taboris-Mta (თაბორის მთა). Long time ago, there was Daruijeli fortress. It protected the city from the south. The scripts of 10th century mention this fortress to be occupied by enemies, and it means that it was built even before. Within centuries, different armies forced this fortress, destroyed it during conquests and rebuilt after. By the end of 18th century, at the time of Agha-Mohammad-Khan’s invasion, the fortress was totally destroyed and never rebuilt again. On 7th September 2012 the monastery was founded on Tabor mount. The project is not complete yet, but building of church is finished. There is a car way to the church, but going on foot is more spectacular. There is a path leading to the church starting in the streets behind well known sulfur baths.
Mo A — Google review
I recommend calling a Yandex Go or Bolt taxi to go up there and then walking back down. It's not a long walk on the path to the town, which includes viewing platforms, but it's easier to find the path down from the monastery than the way up from town. In any case, the bottom of the path is in the bath district.
Winston P — Google review

Don’t use Google maps route to get there by foot! You better off following the signs at Baazovi street (and follow all the way up to the dead end) guiding you to the peak. The path is dirty at the beginning though but at the peak there is a lovely garden. It’s windy there btw

The tour covers main sights of beautiful Old Tbilisi within 2.5 to 3 hours, starting from Freedom Square and passing through old city walls to the Marionette Theater and cozy pedestrian streets of the old town.
I joined two tours with Tbilisi Free Walking Tours and can recommend both. The Old Town free walking tour with Megi was fantastic. We had booked the Soviet Walking Tour but it turned out to be more of a talking tour. Some of the pictures he shared could have been done while standing infront of the sights rather than being referenced. We barely did any walking and the tour guide Levan seemed opinionated and aggressive. We sat for most of the tour and barely got to take in the sites. The information provided in the tour consisted heavily of his opinions rather than presenting history objectively. We also didn't like the subtle racist remark that was made against middle eastern people. I hope this can be improved for the future.

Leghvtakhevi Waterfall is a picturesque natural wonder located in the heart of Tbilisi. It is formed by the Tsavkisistskali River as it flows from the Mtatsminda Range through the Botanical Garden, creating a mesmerizing cascade that eventually merges with the Mtkvari River. The journey to the waterfall offers stunning views of towering cliffs and tranquil landscapes, with a quaint bridge and benches providing moments of relaxation along the way.
Leghvtakhevi Waterfall is a magical hidden gem right in the heart of Tbilisi’s Old Town. Tucked away behind the colorful bathhouses of Abanotubani, it’s incredible to find such a peaceful natural oasis in the middle of a bustling city. The short walk to the waterfall is charming, with cobblestone paths, historic architecture, and a wooden footbridge that leads you directly to the falls. As you approach, the sound of rushing water and the cool mist in the air create a refreshing and calming atmosphere. The waterfall itself, though not huge, is beautiful — especially after rain — and surrounded by lush greenery and rocky cliffs. It’s a popular photo spot, and for good reason: the contrast between nature and the urban surroundings is truly unique. It’s the perfect quick escape if you're exploring Old Tbilisi. Spend a few quiet minutes here, sit on a nearby bench, and just enjoy the moment. It’s free, easy to access, and absolutely worth seeing. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Tbilisi — a peaceful surprise that shows just how diverse and special the city really is.

The waterfall, though modest in size, is charming and well worth the visit. The path leading to it, tucked away behind the buildings, offers a pleasant escape from the city on the other side, near the sulfur baths. Halfway along the walk, you'll need to hop over some rocks to continue on the trail which might not suit everyone.

The waterfall is a lovely spot right in the middle of the city, but unfortunately it was closed for renovation when I visited. You can still walk around the area and enjoy the atmosphere, but it’s not the same without seeing the falls up close. I’d check ahead before going to avoid disappointment.

Such a lovely discovery hidden right inside the urban streets of Tbilisi. The sound of the water surrounds you as soon as you get close — it’s calming and almost meditative. The waterfall itself is beautiful, and it’s a great place to just stop, breathe, and take it all in. I especially enjoyed walking around here after dusk — the atmosphere becomes even more magical. A peaceful spot to escape the city for a moment without ever leaving it. 🌿💧✨

Couldn't go near the waterfalls as the path was closed. Tour guide said that path is closed by government as a precautionary measure as rocks were falling. The bridges towards the waterfalls have the couple wish locks tied to them. This is so close to the city centre sign 'I love Tbilisi' and the sulphur baths. The tunnel nearby the waterfalls leads to the river where I took a boat ride for 60 Lari

Wonderful huge place that leads to mother of georgans if you keep heading up to the conecting bridge.

Nestled in the valley behind Narikala Fortress, the Botanical Garden is a haven of natural beauty and diverse plant life. With rose bushes, violets, various tree species, gazebos, bridges, and fountains scattered throughout its grounds, it offers a serene escape from city life. The garden features endemic flora as well as plants from around the world and provides entertainment for visitors with ziplining and rock climbing.
Visited on a beautiful spring day - we easily spent 4 hours walking through the hills and reading about the flora (Lilac Blossoms), woodland, conservation projects and landscapes. Very peaceful and captivating.

The park is wonderful, but the weather was hot when I visited in August. I recommend visiting when the weather is a bit cooler. It has some uphill and downhill paths that may be uncomfortable for young children. I didn’t complete the entire visit, only about half of it.
Mariam — Google review
It was truly an amazing park, like an oasis in the middle of the city. We would have loved to visit again, but didn’t have enough time. Definitely a must-see!
Merve U — Google review
Beautiful gardens with easy access to views of waterfall. Very close to city. Sine parts are hilly and have steep steps. You can reach the Mother of Georgia statue and wind down back towards town and stop at many unique cafes on the way. Would recommend visiting.
Konnie S — Google review
Amazing place to walk and enjoy the greenery and get some energy Highly recommend Must have comfortable shoes
Maruffofficial — Google review
Beautiful place to visit and explore. A little difficult to find as there are minimal sign posts. The main entrance at the top of the cable car to the botanical gardens was cordened off so we entered via the entrance opposite the Mirher of Georgia statue (behind it).
Tom W — Google review
It is rather a small mountain than a garden. Consisted of 28 well managed gardens and a water fall.
Sesame W — Google review
Very nice place. In the summer it is super hot and it is recommended to bring a hat. There are points along the path for water. Many ups and downs. The signs are not clear enough and we had a bit of trouble with the navigation.

Public bath
In the heart of Tbilisi lies the historic district of Abanotubani, known for its ancient sulphuric healing waters. Among the domed brick spa complex, Orbeliani Baths stand out with their opulent Islamic mosaic facade and intricate interior mosaics. This 19th-century bathhouse is a vibrant architectural gem, distinct from its 17th-century Iranian-influenced counterparts in the area.
I went to Orbeliani Baths with my 21-year-old and it was a great way to wind down after a long day of walking around Tbilisi, especially on a rainy evening. The staff were all incredibly professional and kind, and the whole experience felt smooth and welcoming. The private room we used had very hot water — just as it should be — and we opted to pay a bit extra for the traditional scrub, which I’d definitely recommend. We originally wanted one of the smaller private rooms (150 GEL), but they were fully booked at our time, so we took the larger room for six (200 GEL), which gave us plenty of space. An hour was more than enough for us — we left relaxed, refreshed, and happy we had gone. A classic Tbilisi experience worth trying! Don’t forget to reserve in advance. Online the day before or go there to reserve for same day.
Guila V — Google review
Took a private bath in room N2 and it was spectacular! Completely private, the room has 2 shower heads, bathroom, resting dry are, sauna room, and 2 baths (one cold and one hot) The staff were very friendly and it was a great experience overall and i recommend coming here 😍 I recommend taking up the offer of having someone scrub you as after the hot/cold baths your skin will need it
Kholoud — Google review
A great experience. We booked the previous evening by calling the front desk - the reception speaks English. Advise booking ahead to make sure you can get a slot as wepp as the right size room (prices can vary) Arranging the authentic scrub was super easy as was done on arrival - you also meed to buy a glove at reception.
Will D — Google review
Just so you know… they don’t clean between guests ;) I was there when the cleaning lady came in, she literally just flushed the toilet and that was pretty much it. Get a really good showery afterward , anything can happen in the private bath. 🫠 otherwise, it was awesome !
Léo — Google review
The city of Tbilisi got its name and came into being thanks to sulphur springs and the legend of how King Vakhtang Gorgasali was hunting a deer in the Kura valley and accidentally wounded it. The deer ran away and fell down next to the hot spring, which cured it. King Vakhtang ordered the foundation of a town on this site and named it Tbilisi, which comes from the Georgian word "tbili", meaning "warm".
Mo A — Google review
Absolutely beautiful decorations! Private bath only. Very clean and comfortable. I booked a small pool for 1-2 and big vip room for 5-6 persons. Loved the experience. Georgian scrubbing & massage was done nicely (with extra charge). The “Mekise” were professionals and did a great job. Bring your own towels and slippers to save some money. Overall experience, really worth the money and we enjoyed a lot!
Inthebigmango — Google review
Great experience, a must do while in Tiblisi. Clean and fast entrance. Better to book in advance. They rent towels and slippers, and swimming suit is not mandatory.
Angelica M — Google review
Great experience! Really easy to book (though I did have to go in person as it wouldn't allow me to book online via their website as it kept being unable to send me a text verification code). I was shown straight to my room on arrival and explained what everything was. You can order drinks on arrival too as well as towel hire. You're able to take your own water in if you want to though and it gets very warm so definitely make sure you have water either way. Everything seemed clean and well maintained. It was a very relaxing hour spent in the thermal waters and sauna and I'm looking forward to going back again.

Wine store
Winery Khareba, also known as Gvirabi, is a prominent wine producer with multiple locations in Tbilisi and Georgia, including a wine cave in Khaketi. The winery boasts over 1,500 hectares of vineyards across the country and offers tours of its cellars where visitors can witness the modern methods used for storing wine in long military tunnels dug into the Caucasus Mountains.
The variety and quality of wine is really so special. The staff are friendly and speak English which made my visit to their shop much interesting. They showed me the place and let me took some photos. The prices are so reasonable. They have different kinds of wine.
Asmaa M — Google review
This place is paradise for wine lovers as well as nature lovers.. On they way to the winery, greenery and road drive were beautiful. As many of you know, Georgia is world wide famous for its wine.. We did wine tasting here....it has different costs as per the number of wines and types of wines you want to taste.. There was a guide who explained who wine was prepared in olden days and how they prepared and stored it..he showed us different tools used to clean and store them.. There were many bottles of wine which were stored in the year 2000 We opted for 3 wines, they served us 3 glasses along with olive oil, cheese and bread .. It is a different experience altogether. Location was very beautiful..
Gandham N — Google review
The winery offers a large variety of wines, there are 3-4 draft wines that you can taste however you can’t taste other bottled wines. The stuff was friendly and very helpful in selecting the right wine.
Margo R — Google review
Very nice place with delicious wines ❤️🍷🇬🇪.
Gio B — Google review
Lovely winery shop. The assistant spent a lot of time with me, explaining things about the wines and the wine-making process in Georgia. Everyone who I dealt with was warm, friendly and helpful. A very good spot to pick up some wine!
Anne J — Google review
Nice selection of wine and chacha
Jan Z — Google review
Khareba is a decent winery. Here they sell some good stuff and also done overpriced staff for non-informed tourists (like Kvanchkara). The good thing you can anything here - normal wine for reasonable prices and good white ones for about 10 bucks (they are especially good at white wines).
Tornike S — Google review
We were on a private tour and ended up here. So our guide said he is our temporary guide though the winery. We literally walked 2 minutes with the guide whose name is Zaza and he started to talk us louder and later on he was like “ if you are not going to listen go out” I am sorry but I am not 3 years old and don’t like to told of for something. I wasnt unrespectfull neither my wife or other people on our tour. Just because you are having a bad day you can not yell at us. So screw you Zaza and your winery

Cafe
Nestled in the heart of Tbilisi, Amodi has quickly emerged as one of the trendiest summer cafes in the city. This charming spot, founded by a group of four friends, offers breathtaking panoramic views that make it an ideal destination for warm summer evenings. While it may be a bit tricky to find and often crowded during peak hours—making reservations advisable—the experience is undeniably rewarding.
Beautiful view over Tbilisi, great stuff, delicious dishes, moderate prices not expensive.
Zura S — Google review
It's a great place with a REALLY BEAUTIFUL view. 1 star less, cuz everything is pricy and they don't have fries. How can somebody not have fries?? They do have fried potatoes, but it's not fries. Other than that, good atmosphere, friendly service and a good workout to get there 😀.
Admin Z — Google review
Very tricky for tourists to locate the cafe. But worth the discovery. Expect a long wait at peak hours. Reservation is highly adviced. But its true that crowded resto definitely serves the best food.
Vaisakh P — Google review
5 stars for the view, but the food is a bit overrated from what you might hear from the people.. I get it, in such places part of the bill at the end is for the atmosphere and the view, but would be great all this to accompanied with a tasty food as well. The service is controversial, while the waitresses /waiters and super kind, it just takes forever to be served even a simple cocktail..
Davit L — Google review
Perfect view, perfect food, perfect people. All in all just perfect restaurant!

Nice view to old Tbilisi, different menu 👍, good situation..
Nika B — Google review
Nice, calm place. Mainly for drinking alcohol in a quite, remote from city location. Perfect view of Tbilisi, large veranda is a great place to enjoy warm evenings. Fun nights should start here and later you can move on to on of many night clubs that are very nearby to the place.
