The food was okay, not extremely delicious like what people said here. It is conveniently located in front of the Stalin museum so it’s naturally a place for tourists. What is far from acceptable is their so called service (plus they charge 10% service fee). They don’t have a multiple dishes that we would like to order, that’s fine. So we wanted to add more “dumplings”. The guy looked at us with surprise. He then asked the female waitress, he turned to us and said it will take longer and we said OK. So our first “dumplings” arrived and we waited for like 15 mins for another batch to arrive. I suspected they didn’t even place the order so I went up and asked. The waitress like was “no”. No what? And you don’t even tell your customers that the order was not placed. You just said it will take longer. Could have just told us not possible. And what if we really wanted the dumplings? Completely ridiculous. Also, they just randomly gave you “lemonade”. It’s just random soda. It’s not even lemonade. If you do not want to serve people then just make it self-serve. Don’t even try to charge service fee because there is none.

The food was OK, until I found a nice, long, curly hair in my soup. Service was OK, until the server wanted us to pay for the food that we couldn't eat, after realising the poor hygiene standard(s) at this restaurant. Needles to say, they didn't looked surprised when I told the server about the hair in the food. Almost felt as it is normal for them.

Fast service, good prices, delicious food and a lot of choise, perfect place to eat when in Gori.

Very tasty food. Nice staff and very central. Anda if you have food allergies and restrictions they pay attention and support. Has WiFi too ;) Don't miss out this place when in Gori!!!

We visited this restaurant next to the Stalin Museum for lunch. Unfortunately, there were three intoxicated customers who were shouting loudly, breaking glasses and plates, and completely ruining the atmosphere. What was even more disappointing was that the management did nothing to handle the situation and didn’t even call the police to have them removed. Although the food quality was relatively good, the overall dining experience was very unpleasant due to the disruptive environment and poor management.

Really delicious. Recommend the beans in a pot; big portion very cheap and tasty. The khinkahli were amazing with meat and 3 vegi options. Chachapuri also very tasty. Right next to the Stalin museum and very good prices. Recommend 100%

We found this restauran in Gori Georgia. The food taste was delicious, specially khinkali with meat. We've tested khinkali in almost each region in Georgia, but we must admit this one is the best. Perfect. But unfortunately the adjarian kachapuri wasn't Expected like this. Usually Georgian put only yolk on top of it, but this one, the put whole egg on top, and not cooked enough, so it made the kachapuri looks unattempting. Sorry. Its our opinion. I don't know about others. We ate khinkali, Pork BBQ, chicken BBQ, adjarian kachapuri and caesar salad.

Really nice place that we tried on a recommendation from a travel blogger. Atmosphere - we were the only ones there and I think this was because we came out of season so the atmosphere was hard to gauge, however, I think it would have a really good atmosphere when busier at normal times. Food - we ordered quote simple dishes but wasn’t particularly impressed. The Caesar salad was a huge portion and not great whilst the kids margarita pizza was cooked on top but not enough on the base so didn’t go down well with them.

Wonderful food and kind service - the young people who are working there are super attentive, kind and speak very good English. I had a regular and the mushroom dumpling and a appetiser platter (I literally can’t remember the names in Georgian) - all super tasty. It’s possible to pay with cards and 15% service charge is automatically added to the bill, which is absolutely fine with me. My local host recommended this restaurant and it didn’t disappoint.

Not sure if they didnt like non locals visit thier restaurant or if its lack of staff. This was text book example of how not to serve customer. We were easily the largest tab for the night, but the service was way below par...forever delayed..no responses to requests. Starter that came in as the last dish served.. Ambience and live music was good indeed. But they need to scale up on service to be on par..

Great looking place but food is average (pizza with sugary ketchup base, watery risotto), but the main complaint is what many other people have mentioned, the service. The guy was rude, didn’t listen to orders (even walking away as we were talking) leading to missing items, inattentive. Seriously why would you treat customers as enemies? A shame cos the place was cool and pianist was a gent.

The food and atmosphere was very great. The waiter doesn't even have a hint of smile or even respond to us when we call him. This is not against him. This is on the owner of this great restaurant who doesn't have extra folks to serve the customers. Train the waiter to smile at least a bit..

We waited for food for almost an 1 hour. The food itself is so so. Not recommend. Ok, I can add the details about the food: My dish: - shin da gori (with chicken), was so so because chicken was too dry (overccoked) 2/5 Other people: - potato in pot was very bad 1/5. Amazing place! We had our best evening in Georgia here. The atmosphere is fantastic and the owner is the kindest Oscar-Isaac lookalike I have ever met. Loved every single second here. Would recommend anyone looking to have an amazing night here in Gori!

Great location and vibe. The interior is amazing. The homemade food and alcohol was amazing. The wine is some of the best we have had in Georgia. The owner was lovely and really welcoming. The best restaurant we have visited in Georgia! Also, cute cat and we loved the Cha Cha!

Blissfully tasty and subtly different than standard restaurant fare. Tried different dishes. Everything was excellent. But the signature dish, was outstanding. Would highly recommend to anyone. The entrance may not look very ornate and inviting but walk in and you'd love the decor and great Georgian home cooked food.

We had a fantastic dinner at KE&RA. This place is a true hidden gem. The food was absolutely delicious, fresh, and full of flavour – you can tell it's made with love. What makes this place truly special, however, is the hospitality. The owners are incredibly warm and attentive, making you feel like a guest in their own home. If you want to experience real Georgian food and kindness, this is the place to go. 5/5 stars!

Great Place to hang out in Gori. Big portions of food at an affordable price. Ordered Cutler with Potato Pasta, Pork Ojakhuri, 1 Bread and 1 L of Natural Juice, in total only 50 Lari, what a great price. Cutlet is amazing, juicy and savoury. Pork Ojakhuri is big in portion, just too much potato compared to meat, but still delicious. Bread is freshly made per order, comes in hot and moist, the only one I found during my trip in Georgia that serves hot bread. Overall, it's a great decision to choose Black star restaurant for our lunch. The Waiter is friendly and helpful giving us recommendations and service.

The restaurant has a charming garden setting, with plenty of shade under the trees that makes it a perfect spot to escape the summer heat. ⭐ 1 Star This was, without exaggeration, the worst burger I’ve had in over a decade. The bun was practically inedible (see video), and the overall experience left me questioning reality for a moment. I actually had to go get a “redemption burger” later that evening at another place — just to confirm that the art of making a decent burger still exists.

Very hit and miss. Ordered 3 dishes. One was great (mushroom with Georgian cheese), one was unseasoned (salad), the other too salty (soup). Place was totally empty except us. Service was friendly but a bit aloof. They tried to put music on the TV but it kept failing, so they gave up in the end.

Such a lovely place! We came for a drink and decided to stay for dinner. The menu is extensive and also has vegetarian options. I really enjoyed the bean stew with brine vegetables. The aubergine and peppers with walnuts were also delicious. The side of fries was very big and can definitely be shared with multiple people. The cafe has lovely seating area inside and semi inside. Service was fast, the staff very friendly and helpful.

If I could give them zero I would! The coffee was watery, the iced Americano and latte had no ice, even though we specifically asked for it and the service was sour and rude. We asked for the ice 3 times and it never arrived. We were the only customers mind you. When we asked for the bill and pulled out our credit card, there was a firm NO CARD....until we found the card machine on the table. I just don't understand how you could enter the hospitality industry and have such contempt for customers!

Wew ere waiting for 50 minutes for 1 salad and 2 hot dishes. Waiter was rude. They brought salad even after hot dish. And bank terminal did not work. They have a table for not less than 3 people, wthere were 2 of us so they did not let us sit there, so we had to sit to another. But the cafe was empty, nobody was sitting there. Do not come here, service is bad, food is midding, not tasty

If I could give zero stars, I would. This was hands down one of the worst breakfast experiences I’ve ever had. We ordered two omelettes with ham, french toast, two pancakes with fruit, and drinks (teas and coffees with ice cream). Right away, we were told they don’t serve cappuccinos because they don’t even have proper coffee — only cheap instant coffee. That should’ve been the first red flag. After waiting far too long, the omelettes and french toast finally showed up. The omelettes were just okay, but the ham was strange and tasted unpleasant. The french toast was a complete disaster: made with terrible bread, hard, chewy, and simply inedible. The tea was just a basic teabag in hot water, nothing special at all. We kept waiting for the pancakes, but after 45 minutes they brought us uncooked waffles we never ordered. When we pointed out we had asked for pancakes, they casually told us they didn’t have the ingredients for them. Instead of apologizing, they still charged us for the waffles we never ordered. To top it all off, they slapped on a 10% service charge, even though the service was practically nonexistent. Between the long wait times, bad food, lack of basic menu items, incorrect orders, and being charged for things we didn’t order, this place is absolutely unacceptable. Avoid at all costs.

The meat is overcooked, bbq meat has nothing more except meat on the plate. Kharcho was worst in the whole Georgia, chicken soup average. Khinkali, dough was too thin, so after picking it up it couldn't handle the meat.

We came there for breakfast, attracted by good rating of this place on Google maps. Absolute scam!!! First of all the food took eternity to arrive, around 40 minutes for a breakfast dish. The food that arrived tasted awfully, "French toast" was just an old not bitable bread. The coffee was instant coffee with an awful taste, although it costed like a good cup of coffee in this city. On top of that 2 dishes and one coffee did not arrive within an hour. Then arrived a dish that we didn't order, when I pointed it out and asked if the correct dishes were being cooked, I was told "no". Then we asked for a check and found out that they included there the dish that wasn't ordered. On top of that they also included 10% service tip. There was no service whatsoever, the waiter took our order wrong, it took eternity to prepare basically only half of it, and we were misscharged. Never returning there ever again. Stay away from this place!!!!

Great food very helpful people, traditions tasty dishes

I'm not sure if all previous reviews were based on the fact people ate on the terrace or not. By the time you stay inside, the experience is definitely changing a lot, and eating in small compartments sounds like having a secret lunch where you want to hide from the neighbor. Taking the atmosphere out of the equation, the type of lunch I had is definitely a canteen style and not a restaurant style. No garnish on the table, no clothes... Like in a canteen or in a pub. Service was quite fast, but there was almost nobody. But, as usual, the food was brought in an unordered manner, as soon as it was ready leaving me eating while my wife remained watching and vice versa. The taste was ok, but the famous Cutlets with mashed potatoes is nothing to be proud of. Spicy, soaked in oil and the mashed potatoes was very dry. New potatoes used for roasting, boiled sausages were extremely fatty. The only thing I appreciated was the Kharcho, the soup.

Worst service I have ever encountered. The service is done by teenagers who seem extremely bored to serve you. Some look high and others are agressive when they come to serve you. The table next to us had the same service and asked the waiter if he was ok, due to the lack of the quality of the service... Moreover, the plates came each with 20 minutes intervals so we didn't have the opportunity to share our meal together. The food is not bad but the service is so trash that I would definitely not recommend you to go to this "restaurant", if we can call it a restaurant.

Great food, good service very reasonable price. English menu and English speaking waiters made ordering easy. Large terrace on second level has a view and even blankets if you get cool. As I know no beers from Georgia I asked to taste pale ale and they happily gave me two to sample. Nice cold beer on tap. I would go back. The eggplant with walnut and borji ( red bean soup- ask, it is not on the menu) were very good.

Gori is a small city, have some humble restaurants but this one was a pretty good one. Food came decently fast, it was decently busy the meat bbq was on point, great Saperavi wine as well.

🚨 Tourist Trap Alert – Beware of This Restaurant in Gori, Georgia 🚨 Our family joined a Georgia tour with MLS Travel, and this restaurant was recommended by the local Georgian tour guide, George. What was supposed to be a grand and private dining experience in the wine cellar turned into one of the worst and most disrespectful dining experiences we’ve ever had abroad. When we arrived, three dishes were already placed on the table — covered with flies. We were shocked. There were no staff in sight, and since it was a large group of 20 people, some had already started eating before realizing the situation. When we finally reached the waitress and restaurant manager, we politely raised our concern and showed them photos of the flies on the food and flying around the table. Instead of showing any sense of accountability, they dismissed our evidence, claiming that the photos “didn’t show any flies.” This was despite multiple witnesses, including their own staff, seeing the flies and us having to cover the dishes with tissue paper just to continue eating safely under such unsanitary conditions. Their excuse? “The window was open, that’s why there are flies.” No apology. No replacement. No concern for food hygiene. We only stayed because it was already 8:00 PM, and it was impossible to find another restaurant nearby that could accommodate a group of 20 at that hour. We simply had no choice but to fill our stomachs and leave as soon as possible. To make matters worse, when our tour leader later requested a partial refund due to hygiene concerns and risk of food poisoning, the restaurant threatened to call the police if the full bill wasn’t paid. This was nothing short of bullying and intimidation toward paying tourists. This experience was utterly disgraceful — not only because of the unhygienic food, but because of the rude, defensive, and unprofessional behavior of the staff and management. We left the restaurant deeply disappointed and appalled — not by Georgian culture, but by this particular establishment’s complete disregard for basic hospitality, cleanliness, and respect for customers. If you’re visiting Gori, Georgia, please avoid this restaurant at all costs. Don’t fall into the same tourist trap we did. There are far better and more authentic Georgian dining experiences — this place is not one of them.

Marhaba 👋 They do have a great variety of food options available, with very good prices that are quite reasonable. The location of this restaurant is truly amazing, situated right beside a beautiful river, providing a serene and picturesque setting. There is ample parking available on-site, which is very convenient, and the overall atmosphere is quite family-friendly. However, while the food selection is diverse and the prices are attractive, I personally rated the food quality itself as a 3 out of 5, as I've had meals at some other restaurants that featured higher quality ingredients and more flavorful preparations.

The waitress ( or boss maybe ) were very friendly to explain dishes to us but she that was too pushy . We were ask if we want spicy while ordering a dish , we said yes , and we were served 2 small portions or chilli paste 😅😅 and we were charge 4 Lari each . We stopped for lunch when travelling through Gori. The food was ok. The service was slightly slow as our Khinkali order had to be cancelled since the waiter forgot while we kept waiting. The atmosphere is nice on the rooftop. The kebab was good.

I don't recommend it. I ordered among other things, mushroom soup it was full of oil. The other traditional dishes were just tasting coriander. The salad was big pieces without any dressing or mixing. It was also not cheap.

I asked for a soup (13), the waitress recommended a (small) "Katchapuri kebab" to go along with that, and the Katchapuri kebab ended up costing more (19) than the soup. Plus 17% service fee. It ended up costing more than places in Tbilisi touristy areas. Food had decent flavor, but expensive for such small portions. I don't like those "tourist trap" type of restaurants.

Really good food for it's price,clumsy staff and poor English speaking ablity but over all I'll say it's worth the money ,stay away from madam Bovary ,other than that everything is fine.

Foods take a long time to be prepared. The beef was quite stiff, the chicken was bone more than meat and the cheese was very salty. Menu is pretty wrong in terms of English translation and most dishes were not translated at all. We were taken here as part of the tour but I was not satisfied at all.

Nice restaurant, very delicious lamb barbecue ( highly recommended), good service. BUT, a big BUT! Smocking are allowed at the table, so the food taste of cigarettes for us.

I recently visited the place with a tour program, and it was an experience! 😮 I definitely wouldn't have dared to go there on my own after reading all the reviews. The service I received was quite something, with a waiter who would pretend to write your order and got it all wrong plus would tell you what to eat rather than ask what you want. When i orders a barbecue with vegetables and sauce, the sauce came first after 15min the veggies then like 20min later the barbecue, all different bill BTW, and it was tasteless. When you try to explain or give feedback about the service they just ignore you and the guide who took us there defend them, because they probably work with commission. NEVER EVER GO THERE. If the tour guide takes you just order coffee,water or nothing it's worthless place.

Truly delicious food 🔥the one thing i would love to add is a salt in Georgian salad, the rest is amazing . Payed 20 gel for what u see on the pic. Couple ordered kharcho and the same dish I had with bread and lemonade, they got 25 Gel bill, so it’s delicious and pretty much affordable.

The place is really lovely. The cutlets are amazing, juicy and well-seasoned. Served with mashed potatoes, bread and tomato sauce. Simple food, but brings you the feeling that the whole day went well.

Been here a couple of years ago, and the taste of the perfect cutlets as well as the mashed potatoes that came with them still lingers in my memory. My mother got what looked like a Georgian take on Beef Stroganoff, and with the fresh bread that we were given, it too tasted like heavens. Prices were extremely cheap as well. Though we came to Gori to see pieces of Stalin's life there, it was this wonderful spot that had the biggest impact on us for sure. Some of the best food we had in Georgia despite spending around 10 days in various locales.

The best place to eat!! The aubergines were amazing, and so was the cotolet, shashlik and the home made wine! Portion are abundant. The service is great !! Pay only cash - rightly so!

Excellent shawarma shop in gori, Georgia which has freshly made big spicy, filling, meat shawarma for 10 georgian larie. If you wish to dine- in, there is enough room for 2-3 Small groups, else you can do take- aways also.

The cashier was rude. Asked to add fries in my order 3 times. First two times i didnt get an answer and she looked at me like she was annoyed with my order. the third time, replied to me No fries while another customer ordered food without any issue. Most propably that happened because we werent locals neither speaking georgian. Food was ok. Nobody was speeking english

I was on a group tour and wanted to dish Terrace Gori after reading the reviews. Found this nice place for a quick meal. The shawarma was quite good with lots of meat. Large one for 12 lari. They have A/C and a terrace outside. Recommended 👍🏻

Nice shaurma/doner place. Plenty of options to choose from: shaurma in a bread or flat bread, various sizes. Decent prices. Went there twice and did enjoy the food a lot.

This restaurant looks like an event place, like a wedding is about to occur. Like any Georgian restaurants, they offer same food price and same georgian taste.

Like a bizarre banquet hall with tacky cool table cloth, the food is amazing and oh so cheap. Traditional Georgian food, I had the fried trout, Ojakhuri beef (baked chunks of beef with potatoes and onion), Khinkali kalakuri (meat dumpling) and my favorite was Chikhirtma chicken soup (slightly sour chicken soup with dill and cilantro). 4 dishes for 20 Lari. Less than $20.

The ambience and location was really good. It's very close to the Uplistsikhe Cave and therefore ideal for lunch before/after your visit to the caves. Chicken Salad and Pelmeni were amazing. Ojakhuri and barbeque (chicken and pork) were good. Kebab and kharcho soup could improve. The host (Helen) was very friendly and treated us really well, so did the other staffs.

I am literally shocked this place has high reviews. It’s horribly overpriced for the poor quality of food, and it’s nowhere near authentic Asian cuisine. The rice was wrong, the dishes were poorly made, and the soy sauce was watery. A portion of Unagi rolls costs 40 lari, which is insane! We ordered a poke bowl, rice with seafood, and unagi rolls, spending 104 lari on a takeaway order. Both the bowl and the rice with seafood went straight to the trash. We were traveling through Gori to Batumi and stopped here because the interior looked nice (still giving 3 stars as though the interior indeed was nice, the staff really wasn't), assuming it meant good quality. In our case this was perfect as in the night a huge thunderstorm passed over Gori. The rain was so strong that the water was flowing through the lower level of the house. It also made it impossible for us to go to town to have some dinner. Thankfully Anna prepared us a quick meal and even gave us a bottle of Georgian white wine. The house is quite large and it is well kept. We were also very happy that Anna could wash our clothes. We had breakfast with the other residents. I ordered trout and potatoes. They forgot the potatoes... they still charged me full price and would not give me a discount. We were the only people in the resteraunt.

Good place with very tasty food. Excellent for a good dinner. I can recommend the Adjarian khachapuri which was very good at this restaurant.
