Visitor center
Borjomi-Kharagauli National Park, the largest in Georgia, covers 8% of the country's territory. The park boasts diverse flora and fauna and stunning natural landscapes. It is home to cultural attractions such as two ninth-century churches. The park is situated on the outskirts of Borjomi and extends to Kharagauli village, featuring well-maintained trails through pristine forests with endemic species and unique ecosystems.
A wonderful place. A challenging uphill hike at first until the first picnic spot, then it gets easier. The whole trail is in the forest, a well-marked trail, quiet and beautiful forest. Don’t moss it of you’re in the area!
Vera S — Google review
Incredible hike to Amirati Shelter – challenging but unforgettable! We hiked from the entrance of Borjomi-Kharagauli National Park to the Amirati Shelter, and it was an amazing experience. The trail took us 9 hours and 45 minutes – we’re beginners, and the many uphill sections made it quite challenging. Still, it was absolutely worth it! The weather was perfect, and the views kept getting better and better. Most of the first part of the trail is shaded by forest, which made it easier to manage, but the last 4 kilometers are more exposed – bring a hat and plenty of water. We didn’t see another person the entire day, just a few cows and a friendly dog – it felt like we had the whole park to ourselves. I highly recommend starting early and registering at the visitor center the day before your hike. I did this trek with my son, and although it pushed us to our limits, it was a fantastic bonding experience and a day we’ll never forget.

Amazing spot! Best hike trails and amazing panoramic views and high experienced environment ⚡️you have to register at the agency and also get some experienced feedback about different trails and difficulty 🤌🏻

A wonderful place to visit. Lovely trees and beaitiful grass areas. Picnic tables and benches under the trees where you can make a fire have a barbeque and spend some time. These little spots are all along the beautiful river. Lots of space for children to play
Suna — Google review
Beautiful hiking trail in the forest for all fitness levels. We went in summer and although it was hot, the trees provided good shade. The visitor centre has a few small informational activities which our children enjoyed.
Michala B — Google review
"A breathtaking escape into nature with trails full of surprises ✨" Borjomi Kharagauli National Park is the perfect place for anyone who loves hiking and exploring the outdoors. We visited in August, which turned out to be an ideal time of year for a walk through the park. The weather was great, the paths were clear, and the scenery was at its absolute best. We chose one of the trails that took us past a variety of interesting landmarks, each adding something unique to the journey. The combination of peaceful nature, fresh air, and those little discoveries along the way made it a truly rewarding experience. It is the kind of place that makes you want to return and try more of the trails. – Genuine Gems Overview – ⭐ Rating: 5/5 💰 Price Paid: Free 💎 A Genuine Gem? Yes!

Beautiful hiking trails for all levels of fitness. Do register with the local tourist center before hiking as you will need a permit (it’s free) and provide your contact information. Beautiful views and flora along the way. Hardly any tourists. Highly recommend a meal at the fast food place opposite Likani station before or after the hike.
Y W — Google review
Beautiful park. I hiked the panorama trail with an overnight stay in my tent. Hikersa are suppose to register and pay to enter the park, but then you have to stop at the visitor center which might not be on the way or open. There is very little they do to enforce registration. If they want hikers to comply with the registration, they should make a more obvious sign at each trailhead and either have forms to fill out there or a web page where hikers can register and pay.

Park
Borjomi Central Park is a serene oasis nestled in lush evergreen forests, offering a refreshing escape from the summer heat. Visitors can relax on benches under ancient trees, explore playgrounds and rides with their kids, and savor the renowned Borjomi water from the mineral spring. The park features well-maintained gardens, walking paths, and various recreational facilities for picnics and leisurely strolls.
This establishment is known for being quite welcoming and suitable for families. The tickets are reasonably priced, and it offers continuous access, available around the clock. Complimentary carbonated water is provided under the blue dome. Additionally, there's a section where one can capture wonderful photographs while standing on the stones beside the river, though caution is advised due to potential slipperiness.
Yamen E — Google review
Beautiful, well maintained park with plenty to see and do inside. There is a small funfair for children, a zip line, waterfall, plenty of walks and points of collection for the famous borjomi water. Recommend visiting here if you are in the town, entrance fee is a couple of GEL per person.
Ellie S — Google review
A very active park, wich is nice. Combins nature- If you go further to the end of the new park- approximately one hour walk their are the sulfur pool!
Mai H — Google review
Borjomi Central Park is a beautiful and peaceful place that truly captures the charm of this historic spa town. The park is clean, well-maintained, and surrounded by stunning nature. You can enjoy a relaxing walk along the river, breathe in the fresh mountain air, and even try the famous Borjomi mineral water straight from the spring. There are many attractions for both adults and children, including a small amusement area, rope park, and even a cable car that offers lovely views of the surrounding forest. The atmosphere is calm and welcoming — perfect for families, couples, or solo travelers looking to unwind. In autumn, the colors of the trees are especially magical. It’s one of those places where you feel connected to nature and history at the same time. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in Georgia!
Margo L — Google review
Nice nature place to check, it's probably the highlight of Borjomi, There plenty of views you also can drink the Borjomi original water for free or like people do take huge bottles with you to take away. Be careful from some of the restaurants on the way to the park they seem good but they are overpriced and the food is disgusting.
Alex B — Google review
This is a tourist park that charges a 5-lari entrance fee. However, the park is still under construction and currently offers very little apart from a pleasant view of a small waterfall. There is a children’s amusement area, but it too is unfinished. The road leading to the sulfur pools is muddy and unpaved, making it difficult to walk. Additionally, access to the pools — located about 3 km from the park, roughly a 45-minute walk — costs an extra 15 lari.
Gil A — Google review
A great place at any time of the year, they prepare delicious Georgian dishes. I recommend stopping here. Thank you, I am satisfied.👍💯❤️

Mountain cable car
The Borjomi Cable Car Station, situated at the entrance of Borjomi National Park, offers a picturesque and nostalgic experience. Although the recent price increase to 15 lari may seem high compared to local standards for a short ride, it is worth taking advantage of the stunning views from the cable car. The journey is brief but provides an amazing perspective below. While there aren't notable viewpoints at the top, capturing photos in the cable car is recommended.
The cable car is a great way to enjoy the views of the park—it’s truly impressive. There isn’t much to see at the top; the only option is to hike back down to the park. So, it’s worth taking the cable car up and then hiking down to the park.
P. B — Google review
Okay cable car if your a man, was bit risky and bits of panels Falling off but fair enough country Georgia and amazing water. Watch out for the creepy old man. He will touch all 3 holes and don’t even care. Also 30 gel for return very pricy for the area.
Lloyd T — Google review
I would not recommend it, overpriced - 15 gel 1 way or 30 for both Really old and need renovation The ride is really short Nothing to do at the top, there is nothing at all. I am not even sure that you can find a view down, the only way - bring your own drone :D the only thing you can do - walk down along the road till the way down, so it's even worse than just walking from entrance to the pools and back, since you need to walk along the road. And the hiking part on the top is destroyed by cars and other 4x4's, you can see it on the photos Pro tip: there are public city busses that are coming to the top - just ask in the city which bust to take and ride for 0.3 or 1 gel to the top :)
Andrii — Google review
The cable was nice for us: we went to the hill on the car , went down on cable then went up again. The cable goes every 10 minutes. You could sit to the cable in center of the city. Price 15 lary to go in 1 direction.
Nataliya N — Google review
Price is now 15 lari one way (for tourists at least) - which seems steep by local standards for a short ride. Judging by other reviews the price has recently been raised from 10 lari. The view from the cable car is great - we were lucky to have it to ourselves. We didn't see any great viewpoints at the top, so get your photos in the cable car. Maybe some of the cafes have a view.
Carl B — Google review
15 lari for a short ride. said to be the oldest cable car. Nice view from the top takes down straight to borjomi Park and market. not worth the price, but if nothing much to do. just go for ir
Ajeesh-Musthafa — Google review
This is totally not worth it. Price is 30 Gel for 1 person for a round trip. Up on the top there is not much to see. The cable car is old and should be renovated or replaced entirely. Avoid this place.
Peter K — Google review
Located at the entrance of Borjomi National Park. The cable is quite old, hence giving a bit of a retro feel. Even though the journey is short for 15 GEL, the view beneath is awesome!

Historical place
Romanov Palace is a stunning tourist attraction in Borjomi, Georgia. Built by the Romanov family of Russia at the end of the 19th century, this beautiful palace offers a wonderful tour inside to explore its various sections and contents. Although currently under restoration and closed to visitors, it boasts a picturesque environment near the Kura River. Accessible via an adventurous route involving abandoned train tracks and a hanging bridge, the palace's grandeur can be admired from outside with permission from hotel security.
Building without its true owner looks sad and unwelcoming everything overgrown So must be returned to original owners only they can keep it in good shape. For locals its not necessary in any way to own such place, they have clearly no idea how to take care of it. Also its closed you cant enter If you hike petre fortress you can see it
Ducking F — Google review
Romanov Palace is closed at the moment, you can go around it and see it well from the river side if you stay at the Borjomi-Likani Spa Hotel. It’s very nice walk in the park. Otherwise there are nice historical pictures of it in the local museum, where they tell you the story of the place too.
Blanka C — Google review
Great to look at and nice little adventure getting there :) Since you can't enter through the hotel gates we followed the abandoned train tracks behind our accommodation (Gr.Robakidze Str. 66) for about 1,5h. After that you will reach a white bridge which is closed. Continue from there and you will find a hanging bridge. Cross it and continue walking to the right. The path soon will turn into a nicely made path and lead directly into the park. The palace will soon come into view on your left hand side. Stroll through the park, enjoy the palace from outside and walk out the hotel gates onto a main street :)
Anna K — Google review
A good piece of history and the spirit of the edge of 19th/20th century. The palace is closed now though.
David G — Google review
It is unbelievable how a 19th century national historical monument can be purchased by a private company (the Turkish company also owning the nearby Rixos hotel) and closed for public. You can't even catch the sight of it from distance as it is enclosed in trees and the entire area is closed. The owner also denies access to a spring not far from the hotel. Simply outrageous! Shame on Georgian government!
Tigran S — Google review
The place is builded in the end of 19th century by Romanov family of Russia. Palace is not very big but it's has a beautiful environment. It's located near to Kura River. And there is a metallic walking bridge on the river. But the palace is in restoration and it's closed. If you talk to the security of the hotel you can see the palace from outside. But you can't close to the palace and you can't take any photo. Also the palace's garden is very big and very green.
Hakan Y — Google review
One of the most beautiful place and a part of our history. Unfortunately, there is renovation, so you can't get in but I hope it will be opened soon!
Akaki M — Google review
Currently you can only see this from outside. It’s encircled by police tape, and has guards. It’s still nice to see an old colourful house (from a distance)

Drinking water fountain
Borjomi Mineral Water, located in the central park, is a renowned hot spring with sulfuric properties. It is known for its authentic taste and health benefits. Visitors can fill up water or bathe in it during opening hours for a small fee. The water has a distinct taste that some may find odd at first but enjoyable afterward. Many people believe in its numerous health benefits and consider it an iconic destination for mineral water lovers.
Central spring with warm mineral water. There is also cold water, but locals say that the water there has become worse and it is better to take it warm. It tastes like bottled water except that it is not carbonated. You can store it in a bottle for no more than 3 days, better in the refrigerator.
Anton A — Google review
This hot spring for mineral water with sulfer smell is found in the central park for which you need to pay 2 Lari during opening hours unless you come at night there nobody will charge you. You can fill up water or clean yourself like many do. My partner was enjoying it a lot, but for me it wasn't tasting any good, it was warm and the taste was not for me. Still when you like stuff like that it will be perfect for you! The construction around is fantastic and just perfect to look at, I enjoyed that a lot and also seeing how people loved being there. Also there are many dogs, just for you to know!
Backpackingpeanuts — Google review
I don't get why this Sulphur water is deemed as drinkable. Sulphuric water, besides smelling like rotten eggs, can cause dehydration and diarrhea.
Chris — Google review
Sparkling warm mineral water with sulfur and a bit of a strange smell of a swamp. Since it is not constantly flowing, but you need to open the tap - I would like to personally check how the reservoir looks like. -2 points for how the place looks like. It is the main attraction in the city and in the park, they charge 5 gel for the visit and you get extremely cheap and ugly plastic taps with streaks on the walls of the source itself. I was expecting something way better Also the taste itself isn't similar to what you buy in the shop
Andrii — Google review
It’s mineral water coming from underground , claimed to cure many diseases when drank. On regular basis’s ,park is very beautiful .
RAKESH D — Google review
Nice water. A bit of odd taste at first , but it is good after that. If you bring your own bottle, make sure not to keep the water longer than a day!
Lucas F — Google review
This water may have healing properties, but was warm, smelled and tasted odd. The lady filling it seemed nice though.

Georgian restaurant
Located in Borzhomi, Georgia, Pesvebi Biswebi is a charming restaurant housed in a picturesque wooden hut. The establishment features ample outdoor parking for cars and an inviting interior adorned with traditional cloth-covered seats and wooden tables.
This place was recommended to us by locals for good Georgian food. It delivered as promised. The service was great, always with patience and a smile, and they where accommodating with the menu, making changes to our dietary requirements (e.g. Khinkali with beef instead of a mix of beef and pork). The food was excellent, everything we ordered was very tasty and the portions were big. 10 out of 10, would highly recommend!
Asaf M — Google review
The food was very delicious 😋 i had cheese with mushrooms and beans in a pot and both were outstanding. The owners/staff didnt seem that friendly or welcoming except the young boy who was a great server. The atmosphere and music was nice and i felt the price was definitely worth it. I recommend you come here if you visit Borjomi :)
Dimitris T — Google review
The Lobio was delicious, hearty and full of flavor. The cornbread was fresh and perfect. While the walnut in the appetizers was a bit heavy for my taste, everything was beautifully prepared. A great spot to enjoy authentic Georgian food!
Rita M — Google review
Even though it is in a high traffic touristic place - the owners did not sacrifice a millimeter in quality. Great food, quality of products high, taste outstanding and portions are very fair size. I wish we had such restaurant in Tbilisi. I'm not a tourist to Georgia and I know what I say. So highly recommend!!!
Armen M — Google review
In fact, it is a restaurant owned, I think, by a family. The restaurant serves very beautiful and clean Georgian cuisine. I always go to this restaurant again and have coffee sometimes in the morning and in the evening I often have dinner in this restaurant. They are friendly, kind, and helpful, and they love to talk to backpackers and travelers as if they were their guests in their homes.
The R — Google review
The food was okay overall. The Khachapuri Royal was the highlight delicious and unique. But the rest of the experience was disappointing. The fries were either old or burnt, the chicken dish was overloaded with garlic and inedible, and I was charged for bread I didn’t order. Worst part: the waitress lied and said they don’t accept cards, so I struggled to pay in cash only to see other tables paying by card right after. On top of that, I was charged 6 GEL for takeaway boxes without warning and 3 GEL for bread I haven’t ordered. Very disappointed with the service and honesty. Also have very old furniture. Wouldn’t recommend based on this experience.
Bassim A — Google review
This is one of the best cafes in the city of Borjomi. For comparison, I tried the traditional Georgian dish Chakapuli in three of the top-rated cafes in Borjomi — and I can honestly say that it was the best here. The service was also excellent. Highly recommended!

The Borjomi Municipal Museum is a small but fascinating historical site that offers a glimpse into the rich history of Borjomi and Georgia. It houses an array of artifacts, from ancient settlements to items used in the Romanov Palace, including porcelain china and memorabilia of the Royal Family. The museum also features an exhibition dedicated to Borjomi mineral water, showcasing old bottles with centuries-old labels and diplomas.

Zurab G — Google review
Quite a worn down museum in desperate need of upkeep. The ticket office had about seven staff members sat around chatting. Most of the objects don’t have any labels even in Georgian, much less in English or Russian. Asking question about the objects was met with reluctant answers and a suggestion that we should have purchased a guided tour for 30 lari. If your idea of a good museum visit is aimlessly walking around with no idea what anything is - this is the right place for you.
Vitalia S — Google review
Amazing place! I have never seen any exhibits like these: scarecrows if bear, squarell, deer, birds, collection of butterflies, wokves, foxes and etc. It's not big, but interesting and tiny old building. Kids friendly. My son even bought there a ring :)
Keti G — Google review
As of July 2025, entrance is 5 lari for foreign kids (ages 7+) and adults. The museum is about Borjomi local history. 3 smallish floors covering ancient history until the 20th century. Most things have English labels, which is nice. The garden is pretty but delapidated. Everything could definitely use some TLC and updating. Women's bathroom does not contain a Western toilet.

Local legend and folklore museum of Borjomi 🖼️🎨🗿 This fun and wacky little museum had a bunch of really interesting paintings, statues, and local town memorabilia. Not a lot of information here in English buuuuut definitely a lot of interesting pieces and some of the curators try to meet you halfway speaking SOME Russian and English 😂🤣😂 Loved all the stuffed taxidermied wild animals on the top floor as well as the massive paintings in the stairway 🤩 This museum was more than a little interesting and definitely worth stopping in while the rain passed over us 🛵💨🔥🔥🔥

Must go place in Borjomi, First floor is Quite interesting place with collection of old archeological findings, however I had trouble with identifying exhibits because there where no numbers on any of them, however you can find general description at every exhibit window. At second floor you can find very interesting collection of things from Romanov Palace, from old burn palace and from survived one, however same problem with identifying exhibits

Swimming facility
The Borjomi Sulfur Pools, also known as the Tsars baths, were originally constructed for the Russian royal family in the 19th century. Nestled in a picturesque forest alongside the mountain river Borjomi, these open-air thermal pools offer a rejuvenating experience. The water temperature ranges between 32 and 38 degrees Celsius, providing warmth even on cold winter days. It is recommended to visit in the morning for a tranquil atmosphere with fewer tourists.
Nice spot to visit and relax after a hike along the river. There are tables to enjoy a picnic. Make sure to bring your own swimming trunks and a towel. There are on-site changing rooms that you may use. Entry was 10 GEL.
Jeremiah S — Google review
Three small pools with full of children jumping, splashing and having a fight (young guys pulling girls under the water). An absolute nightmare, if you are an adult. Maybe the one needs to come early in the morning for a quieter time? Entrance fee is 15GEL, towels are 10GEL. If you stay at the Crown Hotel, they don’t charge for the towels and you can enter the park for free. There is a building to get changed and there are toilets too. The small buffet sells cheap drinks. The water is rather cold and is dirty - small tissue papers are all sort of debris are floating in it. The pool is like 80cm deep, practically I got in, wet my legs and got out. I didn’t find anything pleasant about it (the water quality was rather off putting).
Juliet O — Google review
Borjomi Central Park I did a walk too the sulphur pools.Walk itself was easy and enjoyable. Great nature around, fresh air. No cars,no noises. Pools are small and very crowded. The entry cost extra 15 lari. I can't recommend it, personally I didn't like, but others, especially children may enjoy. This lively, scenic park is the heart of Borjomi, famous for its mineral springs, beautiful riverside walks, the iconic Prometheus statue, and family-friendly attractions like a Ferris wheel and playgrounds—making it a quintessential Borjomi experience that blends nature, history, and fun.
N A — Google review
We went there early this morning and the pools were all empty and full of rubbish with a construction fence around it. It is a rubbish tip now so don’t bother visiting Borjomi until it is fixed up. The park is a nice sort of walk before the buses so it gets 1 star
David F — Google review
The place is really lovely As nature But It's free of charge for Borjomi citizens So its absolutely always full Kids use it as aqua park There us no relax and quite here The owner may be can make not all days free for locals So guests can enjoy not crowded pool And quite place There is toilet Very bad Changing room And one open space shower Entry 15 lari You can pay with card also

Nice experience of Sulfur Pools in Borjomi, after a 50min hike in the historical park (currently under repairs). The water was more warm than hot (25-28°C). Be careful, they are closing soon for repairs, I don't know when they will reopen.
Theo V — Google review
Disappointing. For 15GEL you get 3 small, not so hot, dirty sulfur pools. Wasted money.
Adrian — Google review
Beauty nature around, and great 3km hike! But pool… It cost 20GEL totally not worth it… we arrived at 18:30 and the big pool was already empty, temperature of water is not more than 20 degrees, we felt cold. Water is dirty, someone’s hair and some white thighs are in there. Also, only cold shower outside and loud music… not great experience. Maybe in the morning water is better, but I can’t advise the pools in the evening

Enjoy the lovely surroundings and taste the waters, because that's what you came for. They're not meant to be delicious, so adjust your expectations, and if you can, you'll have an interesting adventure in water sampling. The sort of schlocky attractions can feel incongruous with the soothing natural environment, but let go of prejudgments and enjoy your day, especially if your with kids, who at least will be amused and happily distracted.

Fortress
Petre Fortress, also known as Peter the Great Citadel, is a historical landmark located in Tbilisi, Georgia. Built in the 18th century during the reign of Peter the Great of Russia, it served as a military stronghold and played a significant role in Georgia's history. The fortress offers stunning views of the surrounding landscapes and is accessible via a trail that starts near Borjomi.
Place is good, except seems like one of my ancestors got killed there in sleep(grandson of king Erekle ii) Hike itself was not very easy, and you need to carefully follow instructions to get there. You need to follow railroad which is functioning so watch out for trains, it will be sign where you should go up and later follow small path up, if youre slow it will take you 1-2 hours just to go up, because way is not easy through hike road says its easy to climb, wear good shoes because it can be slippery. No need for hiking equipment unless you are not planning to hike on castles wall.
Ducking F — Google review
There are 2 hikes to the same fortress I took both and would recommend the second one - instead of following the official route, continue straight on the train rails and right after the small train tunnel, turn left and walk 5-10 mins along the small river up. Then you will see a sign as on the photo - in about 5-10 mins you will see the best view of this fortress ;)
Andrii — Google review
A little adventure along the train tracks, through an enchanted forest with a beautiful view and castle ruins at the end. Travel time: (One way) 30 to 45 minutes. Hiking level: Easy to moderate.
A B — Google review
Delightful walk up to this rarely visited spot overlooking the river and mountains. There's a sign down by the railway tracks that leads you up to it on a clear route that is easy for the most part. I'm glad I went.

An incredible experience. It was not easy to go up but the best views are after the hardest climb. I really enjoyed the views.follow the signboard.

Nestled in the picturesque town of Borjomi, My House is a charming holiday home that offers a delightful retreat for travelers. Boasting two bedrooms, a well-equipped kitchen, and a cozy living room with modern amenities, this accommodation provides comfort and convenience. Guests can also enjoy complimentary WiFi and parking during their stay. In addition to its inviting ambiance, My House is praised for its delectable Georgian cuisine.
We came around 4pm on a Monday and the place was really busy! Our waitress seemed to have the upstairs and downstairs by herself; she did a fantastic job considering. The pizza was good, the pepperoni was thick and spicy. The four cheese pasta was great, and has more flavor than the chicken pasta. The pistachio cheesecake was also good; we were full so took it for a snack later than night.
Noah V — Google review
The food was great but the service not so much. We had to wait 10 minutes just to get the menu. The waitress that took our order didn't write it down and ended up forgetting one of the dishes we ordered.
Maxim S — Google review
This restaurant was recommended to us by a local tour guide. The service and was great and they were where attentive to requests, the Greek salad for example was cut smaller than usual in Georgia per our request. The food was tasty and the portions are quite large. The Meskhetian Khinkali (Apokhti) was especially tasty to me and I highly recommend it, though the meat is dried inside and very chewy, so only order if you like that kind of texture. The atmosphere is nice, very modern but nothing special about it.
Asaf M — Google review
If you’re looking for top quality Georgian food and don’t mind spending a bit more this spot is absolutely worth it! We had a great dining experience here. While it’s a bit pricey (we paid just over 200 GEL for three people), the food and drinks were definitely worth it. Everything we ordered was delicious: • Khinkali: 10/10 juicy, flavorful, perfectly made • Kababi: 9/10 tender and well seasoned • Caesar Salad: 7/10 not bad, but not a standout • Khachapuri: 10/10 one of the best I’ve had! The dough was soft and fresh, and the cheese was rich and melty 😍 • Citrus Lemonade: Refreshing and perfectly balanced I loved it! • Wine: Smooth, aromatic, and a great match for the food The service was warm and welcoming, and the atmosphere was cozy and inviting. Highly recommended for anyone craving authentic Georgian flavors. Will definitely come back!

The restaurant is nicely situated next to park. The interior is also nicely done. The service is leaking tension, because I tried for five times to wave attention but nobody reacted. The food is tasty but overpriced because I had Odjakhuri and external pictures in the menu. I checked the Internet what it is. The Internet is show half meat half potatoes and I got 1/5 meat which means three small pieces and the rest potatoes. Yes, it was delicious. It’s too expensive.
Klaus W — Google review
It was my first time trying Tatarberak and Apokhti Khinkali. Both of them were unbelievable. I loved them and I’ll definitely try them in Tbilisi too. Both of them have same sauce with Matsoni, onion oil and garlic water. Main difference is that Apokhti has dried meat in it and Tatarberaki is just shaped boiled dough. Prices are okay and service was nice.
Rina — Google review
Probably the best restaurant in Borjomi in terms of the number of different dishes. The atmosphere is nice, recommended.
Gil A — Google review
The pepperoni pizza was terrible. We also ordered a chicken dish and it was raw. And the food cost 62 GEL and they charged us 85 GEL for the waiters. Whereas in Tbilisi we would have ordered more food for less and the quality of the food was much better than in this restaurant. It was really terrible.

There’s a very kind woman working here, which already makes the place feel warm and welcoming. The raspberry tart is absolutely amazing — made with fresh garden raspberries, it’s simply a dream, and definitely the main reason to come here. The khachapuri was excellent too, not overly salty, and the coffee was really tasty. But seriously, don’t miss the tart — it’s worth the trip on its own.

(Translated by Google) This hostel is a former health resort, built in 1892. It's located 150-200 meters from the entrance to Borjomi Central Park. Everything is within walking distance. The interior decor is reminiscent of the Soviet era: the furniture, the beds, even the bed linens, the shaggy bedspreads, and the wooden windows. It's reminiscent of children's camp. This hostel is suitable for unfussy travelers and tourists. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone seeking maximum comfort. At 20 lari per night, I think it's worth it. The hostel has many twin rooms, but in practice, most people are assigned to twin rooms (I personally stayed alone and checked in alone), so it's unlikely you'll share a room with someone else. The grandmothers who work there are very kind. It was very inconvenient to ring the doorbell and constantly bother them to open the front door. I hope they'll solve this problem eventually. The toilet and shower are located far away; you have to walk half the building to get there. I also saw rooms with private showers and toilets, and the price was correspondingly different. There's a spacious balcony overlooking the river; it's very quiet and noise-free. The place is both cool and mysterious.

Gogia Fortress is a fascinating 13th-century fortress with medieval architectural monuments. Visitors can also explore the nearby Timotesubani Monastery, known for its unique architecture and frescoes.
Beautiful easy trail to a secluded viewpoint. Best part was our golden dog guide, as other reviews have mentioned. She greeted us on Giorgi Sakaadze St, then took us to the trailhead by house No 71. Then walked us to the fortress, then down into the city, through the morning market, and back to our hotel for her payment (leftover beef and shoti). One of the most heartwarming experiences of our lives. Please treat this dog well if you see her.

(Translated by Google) A health resort with mountains just around the corner Borjomi is a town unlike any other typical resort town. There are no crowds of tourists with skis under their arms, just parks, mineral springs, and the silence of a mountain valley. It's the perfect place to relax, take a walk, smell the forests, and drink water straight from the spring. It has a certain nostalgic feel – the former glory of a health resort, but without the excessive hustle and bustle. And that's precisely why it's a great base. Because from Borjomi, you're a half-hour drive to Bakuriani – a winter resort full of slopes, lifts, and hotels. Skiing and snowboarding reign supreme there, so if you want, you can go skiing and then return to the quieter Borjomi. For me, this is the perfect solution – to have the mountains and slopes at your fingertips, but not be stuck in a ski town every day, which, outside of the sports season, can be simply… boring for some. I właśnie dlatego to świetna baza. Bo z Borjomi masz pół godziny jazdy do Bakuriani – zimowego kurortu pełnego stoków, wyciągów i hoteli.

If you’re passing through Borjomi, do yourself a favour and make an immediate pilgrimage to Tourist Café, a time capsule of unapologetically Soviet-Georgian charm where the food is as sincere and bold as the vintage upholstery. I dove into a spread that would make any Georgian grandmother proud: grilled trout so tender and crispy, eggplant with walnut paste that had more flavour then I imagined, bean salads loaded with herbs, kebabs, and of course, local wine that was quick to be refilled. Every dish arrived like a proud relative, no frills, no fuss, just full-on love. Now, the twist. After an amazing meal, I reached into my wallet and perhaps out of wine-fueled confusion or intercontinental optimism, accidentally tried to pay with Mexican pesos. Yes, pesos. In Georgia. The host and chef burst into a warm, hearty laugh and a hug. Legendary hospitality. Tourist Café is a treasure: part film set, part dining experience, 100% real. Go for the food, stay for the atmosphere, and bring lari — or at least not pesos. 10/10 would accidentally cause an international monetary incident again.

RIO, the cocktail bar in town, has been a daily destination for the past three days for many visitors. With only one day left before leaving town, this place is a must-visit. The coconut milkshake is absolutely delicious and highly recommended by patrons, while the ice cream coffee also received positive feedback from parents. The donuts are another pleasant surprise at RIO, known for their freshness and crispiness.
Donuts are great, especially as an alternative breakfast. Definetely worth trying. Americano ice and hot are both great, very nice blend. We tried milk shake and hot choco. Milk shake with strawberry was very good. But hot choco was a bit less intense, too much milk. But for a kid is ok. The only regret is about the late openning hours, starts from 10 am. Would be great if they started at least from 9 am. So after a morning walk in the Borjomi Central Park (free admission till 9 am) on the way back people could enjoy these donuts with coffee)) There are two types of flavours, plain sugar powder and choco sugar powder. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by the incredibly friendly staff who made me feel right at home. Their warm hospitality set the tone for what turned out to be a fantastic dining experience. After placing my order, I decided to take a stroll around the beautiful town of Borjomi. To my pleasant surprise, the staff called me when my pizza was ready, ensuring it was fresh and hot when I returned. The pizza itself was absolutely delicious. The crust was perfectly crispy, the toppings were generous and flavorful, and the cheese melted just right. What made the experience even better was the price – it was very affordable, offering great value for money. The packaging was also well thought out, keeping the pizza intact and warm until I got back to my accommodation. Overall, this pizzeria in Borjomi exceeded my expectations in every way. The combination of friendly service, delicious and reasonably priced pizza, and convenient location makes it a must-visit. Whether you're a local or just passing through, I highly recommend stopping by for a slice (or two) of their amazing pizza. You won't be disappointed! 🍕

Great food. One of the best burgers that I have ever ate. But...... the service..... is so slow. It took 60min for them to prepare 5 burgers while the restaurants was empty. Why so slow????? The Pizzas are also great All burgers are recommended Prices are descent Vacate 1 to 2 hours if you are going to eat there

They have the most delicious burgers — even in Tbilisi we haven’t had one this good. The price is also reasonable.

The Tourism Information Center in Borjomi is a hidden gem that offers visitors a deeper understanding of the region's rich cultural tapestry. Here, travelers can immerse themselves in traditional Georgian dance and music performances at the Borjomi Cultural Center, showcasing the area's vibrant heritage. Additionally, guided tours to Vardzia are highly recommended; knowledgeable guides like Leo bring history to life with captivating stories and humor while making several interesting stops along the way.
The tour to Vardzia was really amazing! Leo is a great storyteller, full of knowledge and he shares interesting stories - and he is also funny. Having him as a guide was a blessing and it was really good to understand more about the Georgian culture and history. We stopped in different locations along the way and it was really well chosen. This was a great investment! Leo really knows how to lead a group. And he drives really well, respecting the guests. Great guy and great tour! Totally recommend it!

We had our trip to Vardzia, it was really amazing. Leo told us lots of stories and legends, we had at least 3 stops before Vardzia to see interesting objects. The day spent with Leo went great, he has good sense of humor, so on the trip you won't be bored. Recommended.

Had a fantastic all day tour to Vardzia, the guide/driver was great and very knowledgeable. Had loads of interesting stops along the way. The car was a comfortable 4x4. Excellent value for money. Thanks Leo!

We went for a day trip to Vardzia with Leo about a week ago. That was a really great experience, he knows a lot about the history of Georgia and the region, local legends, interesting sights and good food spots :). He’s a great tour guide!

I have been to Borjomi many times and for some reason just noticed these services and they are very much needed and appreciated. Maybe make this center more visible as the main road center and bus station are very busy to western tourist or travelers eye. The center is cluttered with confusing bus station and tax drivers trying to get a fair. My suggestion is clean up the signage and the area your so needed!
Doris C — Google review
Hard to find since google maps points to other location. Its next to the river in a dark glass rectangular building, a little north of the center. Information is ok, they are friendly. Maps of the national park are not available here, but at the other center at the entrance of the National Park, a little south of Borjomi.
Michiel J — Google review
Very good center with friendful staff and all the cosiness you need before/after trek. Would be good if there was enough signs to direct to the center (it is between Borjomi and Likani)

There is good maps around town but the tourism info center was actually closed for both days we were there although it was meant to be open.

Historical landmark
Located on April 9 Street near the central park, the House of Mirza-Riza-Khan (Phiruza) is a stunning stone building constructed in 1892 for a Persian consul. The two-story mansion, known as "Firuza" or turquoise, features intricate carvings and a roof adorned with turquoise stones. It is often referred to as a symbol of Borjomi and now serves as a hotel.
Beautiful blue building which was called firuza If you will look carefully you can see arabic writings on it Now it is used as hotel Worth seeing
Ducking F — Google review
It was constructed in 1892 by an Iranian diplomat. Called Villa Firuze which is Persian for "turquoise". It's in traditional Iranian architectural style.

Very beautiful building near Borjomi’s central park. A must-see when in town, especially for its mozaics.
D D — Google review
It is an historical house with Persian architecture, mirror work and poetry on top of every window, the name was Firouzeh when it was built and now it is a hotel called golden tulip?! Should definitely have been a museum.

A beautiful historical house with Iranian architecture
Peyman K — Google review
(Translated by Google) When I approached the Mirza Reza Khan House in Borjomi, it was as if I'd stepped into another time. All around were familiar Georgian dachas, paths, the scent of mineral water. And then suddenly—a turquoise-blue wonder with an oriental accent. Delicate, graceful, a little mysterious. The house was built in 1892. Its owner, Mirza Reza Khan, was the Iranian consul in the Caucasus and named the dacha "Firuza"—which means "turquoise" in Persian. The architecture is stunning—as if the East had met Europe and found common ground. After the owner's death, the house took on a life of its own: it was a hotel, then a sanatorium, and now it's a hotel. Something has been lost, but the atmosphere remains. This place exudes a rare combination—oriental sophistication and Georgian warmth. Not luxury, but feeling. Peace, a silence in which the breath of the past can be heard.

25Borjomi Parki Railway Station

Train station
Borjomi Parki Railway Station, nestled in the heart of Borjomi, is a fascinating blend of grandeur and neglect. Once an art deco gem, its beauty has faded over time, leaving behind a structure that feels both majestic and forlorn. While there are no staff or modern facilities to assist travelers—just a photocopied schedule in Georgian and Russian—visitors can still find charm in the two quaint cafes housed within the old station building.
As of today, there are two trains from Borjomi to Tbilisi daily, at 05:50 and 16:35. One ticket machine on each end of compartments. 2 lari per person, sure they accept 1 and 2 lari coins. I arrived at the train station 20 minutes earlier in the morning and the train was already for boarding. It departed on time and took 4 hours and 15 minutes.
Kate N — Google review
Two daily trains run the Tbilisi - Borjomi route, departing Borjomi Park at 05:55 and 15:30. The journey takes about 4-4:30 to Tbilisi and goes via Khashuri and Gori. Tickets can be bought at the station on the day and cost 1 Lari (£0.30, $0.40). The station building itself is quite nice and worth a look inside.
Richard H — Google review
This is a comprehensive review about the whole trip borjomi-tbilisi First the railway station is situated in the middle of the town not far from the hotel we stayed in (5 min walk from crown plaza). No information for tourist or even a sign to tell the timing you have to ask locals. By the way the timings of georgian railway website are true. The train leaves at 3.05pm sharp. Very convenient if you are checking out of the hotel and going to tbilisi the same day (if you have free time eat in the metropol restaurant next to the station it's worth it) The journey takes 4hrs expect too many stops (40+ stops). The price is just 2 lari/person. The trajectory has amazing views. The train itself is old but seats are okay it is well maintained. I saw older train on the way. If you are looking to explore the beauty of georgia and excited to try something new go for it otherwise with kids and the stops it will be tirefull and a mess.
Ivana K — Google review
What a dump, everying is broken, no information available (like a schedule). I mean what does one want from a train station: information when the trains (in this case one single train) goes. The train goes btw at 5.50 AM and you buy tickets in the train (make sure you have small change). 2 GEL in June 2022.
Patrick K — Google review
Took the train November 27, 2023. The station is grand and derelict at the same time - no staff in the afternoon. Trains to Tbilisi are at 5:55am and 15:30pm. If main doors are closed just walk around the building to the platform. Tickets are 2 lari and are purchased in the train carriages - the small ticket machines are at either end of each train car: put 2 lari coins in and wait a second for the receipt to print out. The machine did not accept bills. Train was on-time the whole way, with beautiful views, arrived in Tbilisi at 19:50pm. Highly recommend for traveling to Tbilisi if you have the time.

Mtsvane Monastery, located near the village of Chitakhevi, is a serene medieval complex nestled in a forested valley. This historic site is associated with the disciples of Grigol Khandzteli and holds great significance in Georgian history. The 9th-century monument features three basilica-type churches and a two-story bell tower adorned with characteristic Georgian architectural carvings.
Beautiful and peaceful... If there are tour buses full of people around. You can park below the gates or you can drive all the way to the parking lot near the Monastery. Beautiful paintings inside and a lovely monastery. Grounds were wonderful for walking and the stream was an added bonus.

Mtsvane Monastery or Green Monastery, also called St .George''s Monastery is not to be missed by visiting Borjomi. This place has a special holy vibe; you can deeply feel, that this is a house of God. Lots of history in stones of the Monastery, dating back to the 9th Century). The location is slightly secluded (recommend to reach it by walking through a beautiful and a bit mystery forest), as it should be for a such place. It really gives a sense of peace and tranquility.

An amazing church with a wonderful spirit! Nestled in the forest on a hill between Borjomi and Akhaltsikhe, it is well worth a visit. The area is calm and not crowded, and the priest is very pleasant. The church, with a history dating back to the 9th-10th century, was renovated a few years ago and features stunning icons.
