A touch less sweetness might help bring out the real depth of the ingredients and let the core flavors speak more clearly. The cheesecakes were well-made, creamy, and have a nice balance of flavor that’s easy to enjoy. Coffees were good as well as the noodles. Tariff wise the confectionery is slightly on the higher side. Overall verdict, it’s a place that blends heritage with comfort, and offers a break from the usual - a visit worth making if you’re in the area.

Extremely disappointing experience at Sakley’s Bakery, Nainital. We ordered a Chocolate Cinnamon Roll and Tiramisu – both were shockingly small in size, overpriced, and tasted nowhere close to what’s expected from a place so hyped online. The total bill came to ₹452 without any price being mentioned upfront. On raising the concern, the staff was rude and dismissive instead of being polite or solution-oriented. For a place that thrives on social media hype, the actual quality, quantity, and service are below average and not worth the money at all. We went there after watching a blogger’s video, but the reality is the complete opposite – overrated, overpriced, and underwhelming. Would definitely not recommend wasting time or money here. I also request the management to take accountability and issue a refund, because customers should not feel cheated like this.

An amazingly beautiful restaurant and patisserie, well-located near the lake and the Mallital market. The patisserie counter at the entrance is mind-blowing. I've never scene such delicious looking cakes, pastries or éclairs. The salted caramel cheesecake I ordered before breakfast was delicious. The all-day breakfast was like anywhere else, but the cappuccino, I ordered to go with it, was so good I ordered a repeat. It's a justifyingly popular place despite its metro prices. To top it all, the service is polite and discreet, unlike the frenzied bar-like service at Luckies next door. There's an aircon which keeps the interiors cool, a bend to the global warming that is affecting mountain towns and cities. There's a pretty, patterned tile floor, but what is most impressive is a small picture gallery of Nainital of olden times, when it was called Nayneetal by the Brits. Some prints go back a 150 or more years. It absolutely enhances the ambience of this 81-year old, graceful restaurant. The food is pricey, but do try the scrumptious desserts, which are substantial, absolutely freshly baked and unlike anything you'll find down in the plains, or at least not the same quality.

I ordered baked cheesecake, chocolate truffle, pastry, and apple pie and only found apple pie worthy of its price. Rest of them were over priced. Packing wasn’t good enough. The pastry was too dry for my liking.

This is a multi cuisine restaurant. We tried Oriental, Italian, and Thai. All of the items were well prepared and presented. The service is fast and the portion size is adequate. Pricing is moderate. They have four lake facing tables and some inner side tables. Though it was dark when we dined, we could figure out that the lake view will be amazing during sunlight.

This restaurant lets you enjoy the beautiful Nainital Lake view while having Lunch / Dinner. Unlike other over-hyped places, the food quality and taste was amazing. You might need to wait to get the seating on the lake side as they have limiting seating capacity, it's half with lake view and half on another side to be precise.

Machan restaurant was more than just a dinner,it was an experience with delicious food and a great atmosphere. Amazing host and had a beautiful experience. If you visit Nainital, Machan is highly recommended.

First thing first, 5 star for the food. The taste of food was the best, I have to say it, it was worth every penny. Next thing, I ordered Mix veg Makhni, and the bill they gave me was for Paneer kofta in Makhni Gravy. I know I should have looked at the bill at that time, but I didn't. So, it is nothing a big deal to me, but when I texted the owner, he said it was Matar paneer and later on didn't even text me back and neither helped to try at least once. So please make sure you look at the bill every time you visit there.

10/10 Would Recommend: The burnt garlic noodles, chilli paneer, veg Manchurian, and tandoori roti were tasty and fresh. Amazing view of Naini Lake, and the vibe inside is chill and cozy. Staff was friendly too. Definitely a great spot to eat!

Seating outside the premises are best to sit around as you can dine and you can enjoy Mall road view also. Food was tasty. We had Veg Thupka we didn't like it at all as the taste was very blunt. Manchow Soup was very flavourful. We also had Sizzler it was so tempting and the portions was also very good.

The Embassy is a long-standing, much-reputed restaurant on the Mall at Nainital. The best tables are on the tiny platform before the entranceway, overlooking the Mall Road and the lake. Good for both people-watching and lake-watching, while you enjoy a scrumptious meal. It was lunchtime and I wasn't feeling too hungry, so I ordered something light, a rajmah-rice combo. It lived upto Embassy's much-vaunted reputation, except for the poorly-chopped onions which were offered as an accompaniment. It was a slow weekend and so there wasn't much of an ambience in the restaurant, unlike the Lakeside which has quite an atmosphere people or no people. Hopefully, during the season and busy lunch and dinner hours, the place may sparkle like in the days of yore. It's a 61-year old restaurant!

I had a delightful dining experience at Embassy Restaurant in Nainital! The non-veg thali was absolutely delicious, offering a variety of well-prepared dishes. My only suggestion would be to substitute the butter chicken with pahadi chicken curry, as the butter chicken was a bit too sweet for my taste. The staff at Embassy was very accommodating and friendly, enhancing the overall dining atmosphere. Highly recommend for a true taste of Nainital!

Horrible hygiene. Never drink their water. They were heating water in a mug with electric rod. When I asked, they became conscious and said they serve filtered water. The next day I got stomach problems. Don't get enamored by its decor and name. Poor hygiene. I wanted to complain about it to the food.authorities but the government website was not working then. Visited this restaurant today , we ordered paneer 65 and chicken 65, in the photos you all can see this was not what we ordered either they gave us wrong dish or they don’t have any idea how chicken 65 looks like , there was no curry Patti and dish was full of MAGAJ SEEDS if there was option to put zero star I would have been more than happy

Our first visit to Nainital and we found SHER E PUNJAB! This cozy restaurant has left the best impressions! I have to say, I enjoyed every single bite of the meal in Sher e Punjab. Hospitable staff, delicious dishes, beautiful presentation, and wonderful dessert. Everything is so tasty, you cannot restraint yourself from having all of the dishes. In January 2023, I had the pleasure of visiting this place with my friends for dinner. Our order included roti, jeera aloo, paneer butter masala, Malai kofta,lime water, gulab jamun, and a separate order of butter chicken for one of my friends, as I am a vegetarian. After trying the food, I must say that the taste was decent, but considering the high prices, there is definitely room for improvement in terms of taste amd quality.

I recently dined at cafe de mal,and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The ambiance was warm and inviting, with thoughtful décor and comfortable seating. I tried Stuffed prantha,Veg Grilled sandwich,Mix veg Uttapam,Hot & sour soup & Dal Makhani, and each dish was beautifully presented and bursting with flavor. Dal Makhani was particularly memorable—it was perfectly cooked and seasoned to perfection. The service was prompt, and every detail, from drink refills to clearing the table, was handled with care. Zooby’s Kitchen is a quite popular destination in Nainital among the locals so we thought of stopping by for Dinner, our overall experience was average and here's a detailed review: * Ambiance and Setting: The ambiance is one of its standout features especially if you choose to sit by the large window side. It Offers beautiful views of Nani Lake and Mall road. * Food Quality & Presentation: Their focus is on North Indian and Mughlai cuisine, along with some Chinese options. However the quality and presentation is quite average. Though the portions are decent but the taste is nothing like the price you pay for. * Service and Pricing: The staff is courteous but quite laid back. Be prepared to wait during the evening and rush hours. Also, we have to repeat our order twice to get it correct which has added extra time. It falls into the mid-range pricing category and you are paying for the location rather than the food. * Cleanliness & Hygiene: The dining area is kept clean and the tables were cleared promptly. Have not used the restrooms so cant comment on that. Overall, a very average place which is hyped too much online.

Fried rice was on the spicy side, so if that's not your cup of tea, check that while ordering. Nice ambience and there is enough space inside. Very disappointing experience. The food was overpriced and had no taste at all. The biryani was oily and bland, and the chicken was dry and not juicy — honestly one of the worst biryanis I’ve had. Mutton seekh kebab was good though. For this price, you can enjoy far better and more authentic food in Bada Bazar. Don’t be fooled by the pictures — maybe they focus on presentation, but definitely not on flavor. And this is coming from someone who was really hungry — usually food tastes good when you’re starving, but this didn’t even then. 👉 Tip: If you want a good biryani, try Aaban Muradabadi Biryani in Bada Bazar — way more flavorful and worth the money! 🍛

Zobby’s kitchen is one of the most fancy cafe cum restaurant in bhimtal. They hav a floral front which make their entrance quite colourful n pleasant. Their seating area spread across 2 floors. The best part is, they serve fresh brew coffee n they hav large bakery n cakery. Hav tried their latte, blue berry muffin along with paneer sandwich.. all them were amazing. Little high priced but worth trying. Gud experience 💕

If Zooby’s restaurant is one of the famous restaurant in Nainital in front of Naini Lake, the view is superb. The taste was super. The Manager was superb. Everything is excellent. Price is also okay, okay, little bit costly. Vibe is good . Must try chicken biryani, and I don’t remember the starter name.

I visited here for breakfast. Ordered Aloo paratha. It was delicious. Service was excellent. I liked the decor, cleanliness and cutlery here. I took a few pictures before my breakfast was ready to be served. I wish I could have stayed in Nainital for one more day and visit here for dinner too. Next time for sure.

There are lots of clothes, bags, toys and useful stuff for all age groups and genders. Fixed price shops. Varieties of stuff available and the quality is quite good.

Bhotia market is famous for shopping and food... It's the only street market in nainital where tourist attractions are more than usual... Momos are very tasty, much cheaper than other.... This place is crowded and there is not much space...so be patient then enter... Naina devi mandir is there.. you can also go boating from this side.... Overall a good place for shopping prices are considerable.. Clothes are not fancy, and prices are higher ... I suggest you to go for a visit only and enjoy the taste of nainital momos. There are many shops for cosmetics and gift items..

Situated near naini lake. You will mostly find winter wears along with jewellery, shawls, other clothes. Bargaining skill is required to shop here. You if know the skill you can get very good items in cheap rate. Market gets active around 3PM in the noon. There are small stalls, food joints and other eateries in this market. Shop, eat and enjoy!

Very expensive items. 99% shops have exactly the same items at almost exactly the same rates. There is zero variety. You can bargain for a lower rate that is the only plus point. Only thing you get here are sweaters, jackets, handbags and shawls.

Nice stalls loved this place. Sweaters and jackets are available at less price. People are very friendly here. Food stalls also available in the market. They are gonna close this market by night 8'0' clock so better to visit this tibetan market before 8PM. Hand gloves , sweaters and other winter related stuff available at less price here.

Its adjusent to Naina lake, in front of naina devi mandir and gurudwara. Very nice place to get some good winter clothes. I was with family and they did a lot of shopping. Bought overcoats, sweaters, shawls and few other things. It was quite a good experience. If you visit nainital, you should check out the stuff in this market.

Ordered coffee, crepes, tomato cheese sandwich and garlic bread and it was very simple and authentic in taste..do remember this is an outdoor cafe so place shuts down by after noon..very pleased with the entire experience .

This place had our hearts, we visited there last week and the food, crowd, ambience, location- everything was just perfect. Chica a was a downright disappointment, we ordered a chicken mains and it was horrible. The chicken was tough and stringy. The bread was store bought regular bread. One would expect better service at this price point. The chicken breast was a tiny piece, we didn’t finish it, was very chewy and flavourless. It was priced at Rs, 800 plus. We ordered sandwiches, chicken and 2 meat sandwiches, they were a joke, the bread was regular store bought bread, small in size, the chicken or meat was sparse, they had kept some cucumber onion mayo spread in a small bowl, was it had mentioned that there would be peppers. Which I could not find. They were priced around 600rs each. Terrible is an understatement. The ambience was good, despite the hostile manager. We had gone there with our girls, all grown up, there was one more couple there, we were playing cards on the table while waiting for food, she came and stopped our game saying that you are not allowed to play sports here, weird definition for cards. One of my daughters, a young teen was walking around in the garden, she was asked not to roam around. Truly I was aghast by their hospitality or lack of it. The statements were downright rude and not at all tactful.

I recently visited this place. This place is very close to nainital high court. Accessible by car and bike. I reached by bike taxi. But once you reach this place, you will feel like being in a very offbeat hill station. They maintained the place very beautifully. I was first confused after reaching because this place was looked like a personal property far beyond what usual cafe looked. Exactly like the photos. I spent like 2/3hrs because I needed a quiet place to work in my system. And it was the perfect, no usual crowd of Nainital. Surrounded by green mountains. Otherwise it was very difficult to find a peaceful cafe in main Nainital. I ordered pizza, tea and lemonade. Pizza was perfect for one person and taste was good. I was super surprised by seeing the service. The price is slightly on higher side but not that much if you compare the services. its too coming with such a great service and location. Any good ambience restaurant in city usually charge much higher. One suggestion: if you want to visit this property, call them and reserve your table in advance. Because they don’t want to make the vibe of this property a crowded commercial place. They are maintaining the heritage vibe of the property. Appreciate that effort.

Cafe chica offer a good view, feel of quaint heritage place and beautiful landscape as an added bonus. The time we came at the cafe it was heavily raining.. so the outside seating was closed and we sat on beautiful porch.. Met chica as well..and had good interaction with the owner. The property is stunning , I would say one of the best in Nainital , but they need to work upon food. White sauce pasta had chopped onions in it and chicken with fries were delicious but bit oiled. The outdoor lawn is the only place for having meal , if you're outsider but that lawn and seating arrangement will make you click some pictures.

We have been there in a cold day and eating hot momos was too good experience. It's famous for their veg and mutton momos. We tried veg momos, mutton momos and veg thupka. Veg momos were very nicely prepared, served hot with authentic tasty chutney. Those were yum. Then comes the star ⭐ : Mutton Momos, very very good taste. I have tried it first time and I can eat it daily. Highly recommended to try for non veg eaters. Veg thupka was good too. It's a small joint but they serve quality and authentic food. Fast food items are just okay and nothing special here. Preparation is quite normal and quality as well as quantity is seen compromised. Non veg items are prepared separately but their quality is not up to the mark. Hygiene is not found proper. Worst is that only cash amount is accepted, no online payments. It seems the shopkeeper is evading government revenue. Better avoid.

This place is located inside a very narrow lane amidst a very bustling market. Had read a lot about this place so decided to make a visit. Tried the mutton momos here and i found to be quite average. The chutney was nice and spicy and that made the momos tasty. It was 50rs for half a plate. They also have thukpa and noodles in both veg and mutton options, however they do not serve chicken. Visit only if you are around the area.

I placed an order for a vegetable biryani, but to my dismay, I received a container of what appeared to be only partially cooked rice. The grains were not only undercooked but also lacked any discernible warmth. The quality was so poor that even a simple fried rice dish would have been a preferable alternative. I am extremely disappointed with the substandard food I received and, based on this experience, I cannot recommend dining there.

One of the best restaurants in Nainital. Among all the fancy, Masaledaar food this is one place that give you tasty, multi optional and affordable food. Had Special thali, Manchow Soup, Masala dosa and Aam panna. All were delicious and up to the mark.

Everything we tried here was top-notch! High-quality food, generous portions, and very polite staff. We ordered the Veg Pahadi Thali and Non-Veg Pahadi Thali for lunch — both were delicious and beautifully served. We even went back for dinner and had the Saagwala Chicken, which was absolutely superb. Prices are reasonable, making it great value for money. There are many small and big restaurants in Nainital but this restaurant is very good, clean, the quality of food and the staff here are very good. The price is affordable. From the beginning of the main road you can take a toto/tuk tuk for 15/- each and reach the other end of the road i.e. the other end of the Lake, from there you will find this restaurant after walking a little through the market.

This is one of the best places for Kumaoni cuisine in Nainital. I visited for 2 days in a row for their fish masala. The Kumaoni cuisine is a must-try, specifically Gandreni chicken and the buransh drink made from Rhododendron flowers.

I never had that level of worst taste of chicken in my whole life . Remove the name dilli because neither I get the taste of delhi nor vibe. Servicing was so poor. The washroom was not hygienic enough. And the place was too much conjugated in the off season as well.

No idea why this place is rated so low when the experience is entirely opposite. The food here is kickass and at times even beat zooby's food quality. We ordered tawa chaap, tandoori chicken and chilli garlic noodles and everything tasted abaolutely great. No complaints at all. The chicken was fresh and tender, the noodles were very tasty and the highlight was the tawa chaap... Simply superb! Loved the food and the ambience, fresh air gushing from the windows that open to the naini lake added to the entire experience of having food by the lake. The portions are sufficient for the price too and so are the prices. We visited this place since zoobys was running on waiting and glad we did. After we are here once, we didnt go back to zoobys at all. The food here is fresh and spices are adjusted to your preference. Whenever you're visiting nainital next, please do try this place and you wont be disappointed. Try and get a window table to enjoy your food with a great view. Cheers :)

If you're a vegetarian visiting Naini tal you may like this place. I was here with family. Rajma chawal was average felt the portion of rice could have been more as it seemed less for a single person. But the rotis and Shahi paneer were good. Loved the paneer also the portion was enough. Service was promt. Ambeince is nice because you have the view of the lake. Overall I had a good time.

The Dhaba's location is its main selling point and the substantial servings. Each dish is good enough for two. That puts the food here in the affordable category, a rare thing on the pricey Mall Road. Still, a bottle of water here is INR 50, and you might want to ask for RO water. My entry into The Dhaba nearly ended in grief. The floor isn't level and the main dining area is 6 inches lower, with no warning or caution sign. The interiors are bright, the seating comfortable and the service isn't pushy. The Dhaba, however, has zero ambience and is strictly for order-eat-pay and go. The dal fry I ordered for lunch was really nice. Every spoonful was finger-licking good.
