Sakley's Restaurant & Pastry Shop in Nainital is a charming wooden cottage with a spacious open area that offers diverse culinary delights. Established in 1994, it is the oldest bakery in town and reflects a modern style with pastel colors and floral prints. The restaurant offers an eclectic menu featuring Indian, Italian, and Continental fusion cuisine, making it a perfect spot for anyone looking to satisfy their hunger pangs from morning through evening twilight hours.
I’ve always been a cinnamon roll lover and have tried them all across Europe, where they’re truly unmatched. After being disappointed at several places in India, I finally found that same soft, buttery perfection at Sankey's Nainital. They’re perfectly baked, rich in flavor, and instantly took me back to Europe. Couldn’t resist going back for another round the very same day. 😄 We also tried the chocolate brownie; it had a good flavor but was slightly dry... a bit of sauce or glaze would make it even better. Must recommended place for Cinnamon Rolls !!!!

Situated in the heart of a busy market near Mallital area, this 80-year-old pastry shop and confectionery offers a quiet escape from the surrounding hustle. Once you step inside, the noise fades, and you’re welcomed into a space that carries a gentle, old-world charm. The walls are lined with photographs that reflect the rich culture of Uttarakhand, adding character without overwhelming the space. The staffs are polite and welcoming. The shop is best known for its classic Swiss pastries and sweets, many of which have stood the test of time. They also serve a mix of Chinese and tandoori items, which adds variety to the menu. We had cold coffee with ice cream, americano, chocolate tart, tiramisu, cinnamon roll, blueberry cheesecake, lemon cheesecake, whole pineapple pastry, chocolate almond pastry and pan fried noodles. The pastries tasted good and were nicely made, though they leaned a little on the sweeter side. A touch less sweetness might help bring out the real depth of the ingredients and let the core flavors speak more clearly. The cheesecakes were well-made, creamy, and have a nice balance of flavor that’s easy to enjoy. Coffees were good as well as the noodles. Tariff wise the confectionery is slightly on the higher side. Overall verdict, it’s a place that blends heritage with comfort, and offers a break from the usual - a visit worth making if you’re in the area.

“Absolutely delicious pastries and cakes! Their blueberry cheesecake and chocolate éclairs are to die for. Must-visit for pastry lovers.” Sakley’s is a charming, old-world bakery and restaurant located on Nainital’s iconic Mall Road. Famous for its decadent desserts, especially the blueberry cheesecake, Banoffee pie, and chocolate éclairs, this place is a must-visit for anyone with a sweet tooth. The Western-style main course dishes like chicken steak and pasta also receive praise for taste and presentation. The ambiance is warm, cozy, and nostalgic, with large windows offering a glimpse of the lake—perfect for a relaxed afternoon. While the service can sometimes be slow or indifferent, the food quality and setting usually make up for it. Prices are on the higher side, but many feel it’s worth the experience. Thanks to The Sakley’s Restaurant and Pastry Shop

Extremely disappointing experience at Sakley’s Bakery, Nainital. We ordered a Chocolate Cinnamon Roll and Tiramisu – both were shockingly small in size, overpriced, and tasted nowhere close to what’s expected from a place so hyped online. The total bill came to ₹452 without any price being mentioned upfront. On raising the concern, the staff was rude and dismissive instead of being polite or solution-oriented. For a place that thrives on social media hype, the actual quality, quantity, and service are below average and not worth the money at all. We went there after watching a blogger’s video, but the reality is the complete opposite – overrated, overpriced, and underwhelming. Would definitely not recommend wasting time or money here. I also request the management to take accountability and issue a refund, because customers should not feel cheated like this.
Harshul G — Google review
An amazingly beautiful restaurant and patisserie, well-located near the lake and the Mallital market. The patisserie counter at the entrance is mind-blowing. I've never scene such delicious looking cakes, pastries or éclairs. The salted caramel cheesecake I ordered before breakfast was delicious. The all-day breakfast was like anywhere else, but the cappuccino, I ordered to go with it, was so good I ordered a repeat. It's a justifyingly popular place despite its metro prices. To top it all, the service is polite and discreet, unlike the frenzied bar-like service at Luckies next door. There's an aircon which keeps the interiors cool, a bend to the global warming that is affecting mountain towns and cities. There's a pretty, patterned tile floor, but what is most impressive is a small picture gallery of Nainital of olden times, when it was called Nayneetal by the Brits. Some prints go back a 150 or more years. It absolutely enhances the ambience of this 81-year old, graceful restaurant. The food is pricey, but do try the scrumptious desserts, which are substantial, absolutely freshly baked and unlike anything you'll find down in the plains, or at least not the same quality.

I ordered baked cheesecake, chocolate truffle, pastry, and apple pie and only found apple pie worthy of its price. Rest of them were over priced. Packing wasn’t good enough. The pastry was too dry for my liking.
Bhumika S — Google review
I ordered 2 pastries and taste was great. The ambience and hygiene is up to the mark. The pastries were having balanced taste of sweetness unlike others. I like how they have their one of the wall posted with historical data about Nainital.

Tried the lemon cheesecake and grilled sandwich at this popular café in Nainital. The place is really pretty, and the cheesecake was delicious, but the sandwich was just average considering the price.

Nestled in the lush pine forests, Cafe Chica at Abbotsford Heritage Hotel offers a cozy and intimate dining experience. The rustic hilltop cafe provides a selection of gourmet offerings including freshly brewed coffee, artisan sandwiches, and locally sourced pastries. Guests can savor their meals while enjoying beautiful landscape views. Housed in a 140-year-old mansion, this outdoor cafe is the perfect spot to indulge in an English breakfast amidst the fresh mountain air.
The cafe is a part of a private property which is situated in a beautiful location. Very nicely maintained lawns with a picturesque view. The food was delicious and the service immaculate. Manager of the cafe was very warm. All in all a great dining experience. Recommend.

With a fitting backdrop of mountains and seatings over a beautiful garden this is one perfect place to enjoy a peaceful breakfast..the host here was warm and friendly had a great chat with her while waiting for food to get served. Ordered coffee, crepes, tomato cheese sandwich and garlic bread and it was very simple and authentic in taste..do remember this is an outdoor cafe so place shuts down by after noon..very pleased with the entire experience .

This place had our hearts, we visited there last week and the food, crowd, ambience, location- everything was just perfect. Definitely worth to drive there, the manager and caretakers have maintained this property in the best possible way !! Surely in my bucket list for the next time I visit Nainital.
Ayush K — Google review
Chica a was a downright disappointment, we ordered a chicken mains and it was horrible. The chicken was tough and stringy. The bread was store bought regular bread. One would expect better service at this price point. The chicken breast was a tiny piece, we didn’t finish it, was very chewy and flavourless. It was priced at Rs, 800 plus. We ordered sandwiches, chicken and 2 meat sandwiches, they were a joke, the bread was regular store bought bread, small in size, the chicken or meat was sparse, they had kept some cucumber onion mayo spread in a small bowl, was it had mentioned that there would be peppers. Which I could not find. They were priced around 600rs each. Terrible is an understatement. The ambience was good, despite the hostile manager. We had gone there with our girls, all grown up, there was one more couple there, we were playing cards on the table while waiting for food, she came and stopped our game saying that you are not allowed to play sports here, weird definition for cards. One of my daughters, a young teen was walking around in the garden, she was asked not to roam around. Truly I was aghast by their hospitality or lack of it. The statements were downright rude and not at all tactful.

I recently visited this place. This place is very close to nainital high court. Accessible by car and bike. I reached by bike taxi. But once you reach this place, you will feel like being in a very offbeat hill station. They maintained the place very beautifully. I was first confused after reaching because this place was looked like a personal property far beyond what usual cafe looked. Exactly like the photos. I spent like 2/3hrs because I needed a quiet place to work in my system. And it was the perfect, no usual crowd of Nainital. Surrounded by green mountains. Otherwise it was very difficult to find a peaceful cafe in main Nainital. I ordered pizza, tea and lemonade. Pizza was perfect for one person and taste was good. I was super surprised by seeing the service. The price is slightly on higher side but not that much if you compare the services. its too coming with such a great service and location. Any good ambience restaurant in city usually charge much higher. One suggestion: if you want to visit this property, call them and reserve your table in advance. Because they don’t want to make the vibe of this property a crowded commercial place. They are maintaining the heritage vibe of the property. Appreciate that effort.

Absolutely loved the experience.. it is a must visit place if you are travelling to Nainital. Great food with amazing vibes. Loved the service. the owner is very helping and welcoming. she suggests good food But didn't like the pasta we ordered. However, we were compensated with a great dessert as a complimentary dish on the house.

Cafe chica offer a good view, feel of quaint heritage place and beautiful landscape as an added bonus. The time we came at the cafe it was heavily raining.. so the outside seating was closed and we sat on beautiful porch.. Met chica as well..and had good interaction with the owner. Ppl are genuine and warm ... one can try out for an experience.
Yogita G — Google review
The property is stunning , I would say one of the best in Nainital , but they need to work upon food. White sauce pasta had chopped onions in it and chicken with fries were delicious but bit oiled. The outdoor lawn is the only place for having meal , if you're outsider but that lawn and seating arrangement will make you click some pictures.

The restaurant is known for its serene evening ambiance, delicious meals, and romantic setting, making it perfect for a special night out. With a mix of Indian, Chinese, and Continental dishes, Zooby's Kitchen provides a comfortable dining experience for tourists seeking diverse cuisine options.
Highly recommended Best views of lake from their window seating compared to other restaurants of the lane. Food - great taste Service - seemed they have a small kitchen but the service was still quick. Hospitality - staff is decent was ensuing the items are on table & on time, much appreciation to that. Special regards to Mr. Sanjiv who served us. Seating - window side in 4s. Rest for a gathering of more central lounge area is there.

Zooby’s Kitchen is a quite popular destination in Nainital among the locals so we thought of stopping by for Dinner, our overall experience was average and here's a detailed review: * Ambiance and Setting: The ambiance is one of its standout features especially if you choose to sit by the large window side. It Offers beautiful views of Nani Lake and Mall road. * Food Quality & Presentation: Their focus is on North Indian and Mughlai cuisine, along with some Chinese options. However the quality and presentation is quite average. Though the portions are decent but the taste is nothing like the price you pay for. * Service and Pricing: The staff is courteous but quite laid back. Be prepared to wait during the evening and rush hours. Also, we have to repeat our order twice to get it correct which has added extra time. It falls into the mid-range pricing category and you are paying for the location rather than the food. * Cleanliness & Hygiene: The dining area is kept clean and the tables were cleared promptly. Have not used the restrooms so cant comment on that. Overall, a very average place which is hyped too much online.
J T — Google review
Very disappointing experience. The food was overpriced and had no taste at all. The biryani was oily and bland, and the chicken was dry and not juicy — honestly one of the worst biryanis I’ve had. Mutton seekh kebab was good though. For this price, you can enjoy far better and more authentic food in Bada Bazar. Don’t be fooled by the pictures — maybe they focus on presentation, but definitely not on flavor. And this is coming from someone who was really hungry — usually food tastes good when you’re starving, but this didn’t even then. 👉 Tip: If you want a good biryani, try Aaban Muradabadi Biryani in Bada Bazar — way more flavorful and worth the money! 🍛
Yogesh B — Google review
Tried this place food seeing so many positive reviews. But was not upto mark in service. After sitting and ordering snacks , they need to be told that serve us water. That shows no concern for guest just earning money is main aim price compare to all places is also high . I did not find any positive atmosphere at place. It was looking like dull place therefore paid and decided to go any other place . Coming on vacation and spending night dinner at that place was not good decision taken by me.
ASHUTOSH K — Google review
Good ambience, good lake side view but tables are few at that side so you may need to wait. Food was good, chicken barra was really good. Mutton biryani was average. Service was good but the person taking the order didn't seem to be interested while we asked about the dishes. Overall great mughlai food. Must try.

Awesome food and ambience. We had lunch and dinner for two days and tried different options both veg and non veg. Great service by kamlesh ji who served us with care.

The view was quite good, the overall experience was disappointing. The service was extremely slow. Prices are on the higher side, and the waiter was extremely rude and not helpful at all. The food took far too long to arrive, though it was good. I won’t recommend this restaurant, just a over hyped place

Café LakeSide is a laid-back hangout located along Nainital Lake, offering a wide range of regional and global cuisine as well as an array of refreshing mocktails. Situated on the Mall road of Nainital, this café provides a spectacular view overlooking the serene Nainital Lake. With an extensive menu featuring Indian, Chinese, Continental, and Italian dishes such as Chilli Noodles, Grilled Chicken, Hot Chocolate, Pizza, and Coffee.
Overall, a cozy spot with great vibes and an amazing lake view. The place is small with just a few tables, but the experience is definitely worth every penny. What we ordered: Amritsari Chaap Burger (Veg) – Generous portion, served with a tasty side of seasoned potato veggies. Sangria Wine – Refreshing and well-balanced, perfect for a relaxed lakeside evening. Highly recommend for a chill outing with good food and scenic views.
Darshan ( — Google review
This place is located right on the main Mall Road and has a lovely view of the lake. The service was good and quick, plus the interiors are also done very well. I had brunch here. The avocado toast was very average and lacked some salt which was disappointing. Along with it, the sausages and has browns were really good. They have a nice selection of dessert as well.
Dev S — Google review
The Café Lakeside is easily the best café in Nainital. It's dining areas overlook the happening Mall Road as well as the Lake. While the lakeviews are slightly marred by several wires stretching just outside the restaurant, the lovely furniture, plants, long bar-like tables and the excellent food and beverages more than make up for it. The patisserie counter has amazingly delicious stuff, including tiramisu. The cappuccino is as good as you can get in Bangalore. While the apple-pie was rather bland, the blueberry cheesecake was as authentic as anywhere else. The atmosphere is jazzed up several levels by the eclectic playlist of pop music from the 70s till recent times. It's a very delightful space that's inviting and will drag you back again and again.

Checked this place out after dark and the vibe was just perfect... The soft lighting is moody in the best way... The comfortable seating lets you properly unwind and relax... We shared a pizza and a sizzler, both of which were quite tasty... The service was smooth and friendly from start to finish... Everything added up to a thoroughly pleasant experience

* tough to get here since parking is non existent * tall stairs are not welcoming for elders * incredibly difficult to get seats during weekends, even during afternoons * online reservation should be provided. * food is good. Can get too spicy so make sure to inform them while placing orders. * it has a laid back feel. Very loud music. * tiny washrooms.

Wow in Nainital main mall road in Hustle and bustle such adorable cafe exist I was impressed. Cafe Lakeside is situated inside Hotel Lakeside inn which is situated just infront of Nainital Lake on Mall road. Cafe lakeside is in 1st floor inside boutique Hotel of 16 rooms. Coming to the food I dined in 4 times here as i stayed in this hotel. starting from Breakfast one day I ordered- Kadak Masala- In whole Nainital this was the place where I had the best tea. it was super delicious and perfect blended with all masala. Tandoori Paneer Sandwich- Delicious Sandwich with fries to start the day. unexpectedly tasty. One night for Dinner we ordered- Creamy Walnut- Had Walnut pasta for the first time taste was well blended with Cheese with walnut and pasta. Must try unique taste. Paw Bhaji Fondue- It was just like normal paw Bhaji but uniquely serve as cheese fondue. the taste of bhaji was delicious and paw was crispy grilled to dip in Bhaji as fondue. This is also must try in This cafe. Russian Pastry- Their Pastry collection was attractive but we only Ordered this one and it was Okish in taste but looked fancy that's it. Other night for for dinner we ordered Paneer tikka Pizza which was again Delicious. For a change pizza was square topped with Paneer tikka marinated Paneer Qube, pepper, onion, tomato. it was delicious and best choice. Over all the food, Hospitality, View Cafe vibe everything was perfect and top notch. I was amazed to watch the food quality and taste because of so much rush still it was upto mark and better than other places in nainital.

Great place to be at to enjoy your food with great views, went there for a breakfast and not only did i enjoy the taste of the food that was served, but the views of the lake from this cafe are definitely worth your time. Perfect lake view from the café — a beautiful spot to sit back and enjoy the calm surroundings. I had chai, butter toast, and a brownie, and everything tasted amazing, especially with the great vibes and view. It’s a bit on the expensive side, though. Would have loved to see pakode on the menu for the lovely evening weather! Overall, a great place to relax by the lake. ☕🌊

Although located near one of the most happening locations in the city, the cafe is mostly secluded. For your info, the cafe is located in Hotel Pavilion, Mallital nearby High Court. Visited this place with a friend of mine who used to come here. The place was mostly empty and felt nice. Ordered Cappuccino, Hot chocolate and Honey Chilli Potato. The Service could've been better. 10/10 for the peace and seclusion.

Good Ambience with nice seating arrangements. The waffles are good. They don't have many options in pastries, however a nice place to spend time chatting up or reading a book.

Behind the face of backer they serve a broad menu. Good sitting arrangements inside & outside. Enjoy Customised tempting items while playing on carom-board or turning pages of some novels lying on racks. Taste of all food items generally good. Descent guests, not heavily occupied. A good place to work on MacBook while taking sip of tea etc. either relaxing on sofas or dining table-chairs. Separate Restrooms. Parking. On the roadside.

Went there around 12pm. Ordered coffee which was quite good. Ordered chocolate brownie and chocolate donut which were one day old which can be judged by its taste. This was totally not accepted. As we heard so much about the place and were willing to hop to the place first thing reaching to the place. If they were going on short of the items they could have bluntly said no simply rather than serving stale items to the customers. Literally a very bad experience for us.
Travel V — Google review
Its safe to say, Bakers hut is the worst cafe ever. The choco chip muffins was dry and seemed more like a cookie, the cold coffee was so bad that I couldn't even finish it. The chicken sandwich was expensive out of its worth and so was the chicken sizzler. The chicken sizzler was so bad because, first, the chicken was dry and questionable, and second, the mushroom in the sizzler was rotten, and third the whole thing was tasting like bland food with some cheap ketchup. Really disappointed with the staff who really don't care about their customers and are extremely rude. The service was so so pathetic that I felt like I could do better with self service. Thanks a lot bakers hut, you guys ruined my day!

This charming bakery is perfectly located right in the heart of town, just a short walk from Mall Road, making it super convenient for both locals and tourists. The ambience is absolutely lovely with ample space to sit and relax. It offers a continental menu but honestly, it’s the bakery items that steal the show. The food is decent, but if you’re visiting, I’d recommend focusing on the bakery section. Another plus is the pricing—everything on the menu is quite reasonably priced, making it a great spot for a cozy hangout Overall, a delightful place with a lot of potential, especially if you’ve got a sweet tooth.

I was recently on family trip to Nainital and as I was entering Mall Road my eyes landed on this cafe and I already made up my mind we are definitely going here. Finally made sure before leaving Nainital we went for an evening coffee here and one of best places we tried in Nainital. The food, service and vibe was really commendable. We ordered the lovely homemade ginger ale, tasted amazing, garlic bread, pasta, absolutely delicious fish and chips, coffee and paneer chilli and ended our course with tempting chocolate eclairs. This place shines bright like a diamond in Mall road, very beautiful designed and great ambiance. The food is excellent especially if you like fresh cakes and pastries. We had the privilege of having proper dinner accompanied by the cheesecake. The pizza and pasta was great but sizzling browine was the game changer. I would highly recommend everyone.

Feel “lucky” to find such a wonderful cafe along the bustling street in Nanital. Freshly made coffees, a bakery and menu featuring both sweet and savory treats, and a friendly helpful team. Highly recommend.

I really enjoyed my visit to this cafe. The decor is charming, and the coffee is good. The pizza at this cafe is fantastic! The crust is perfectly crispy, and the toppings are fresh and flavorful. They also have a great selection of cakes n pastries. The service was quick and friendly, highly recommend

I remember back in the day the place was known as Cyberia. Outside there was a cafe and inside a cyber cafe where we’d spent our sundays browsing and chatting on Orkut. Now the place has changed totally, with Luckies Cafe and Bakery, the ambience has improved a lot. We went to the place late in night to celebrate my wife’s sister’s birthday and the cake tasted great. There are lots of options for bakery, snacks and drinks for you to try.
