Great Malvern Priory, a former Benedictine monastery turned Anglican parish church, offers an educational and enlightening experience for those interested in religious places. The stunning exterior features unique stonework with various rock types in a patchwork of colors. Inside, visitors can admire fabulous stained glass windows, including two modern examples. Despite some noise from the gift shop and other conversations, the friendly volunteers provide informative background information for a self-guided exploration.
The Priory in Malvern is a truly stunning building, with an impressive presence that becomes even more striking in wet weather when the rain deepens the colors of its historic stone. The intricate stained glass windows are particularly beautiful, casting a kaleidoscope of light inside and adding to the building’s sense of history and tranquility. Every visit is made even more enjoyable by the welcoming and friendly atmosphere created by those who work and volunteer there. It’s also exciting to see the redevelopment project taking shape, as it promises to enhance and preserve this remarkable place for future generations. As a local resident, I’m looking forward to seeing how the changes unfold and am hopeful that they will bring even more opportunities for concerts and cultural events. It would be wonderful to see the Priory become an even more vibrant hub for the community, blending its rich heritage with new and engaging experiences.

Thoroughly enjoyed taking a walk around Great Malvern Priory on Thursday 31/07/25. A peaceful & well maintained area, I didn't have time to go inside the church & just by browsing outside your surrounded by so much history. I'm sure I would have known more information about the Priory is I'd gone inside. I will defiantly re-visit the Priory when back in the UK from Australia in a couple of years to visit close family in Upton.
STEPHEN N — Google review
One of the best architectural masterpieces we can explore with silence. Great area to visit glass painting. If you are interested in architectural ancient churches, then Malvern priory should not miss it from your list.
Anil T — Google review
The Priory of Saint Mary and Saint Michael is another house of the holy worth visiting. The Archangel Michael called a time out on his battle with Satan to escort the mother of Jesus, both body and soul, up to heaven. The powers that be thought they'd name the priory after both of them. Satan was left drumming his fingers until the battle could begin again after Mick's return. We've got the usual stuff, windows, a ceiling, woodwork with a patina, hassocks, no cossacks.
Bill R — Google review
Wonderful church with a different type of construction and feels very calm inside. Outside the church is surrounded by big trees and gives us a very positive vibe, feels very relaxed after spent some time in church ⛪️

Lots of history to this Church and a popular place to visit. They even have a small play area to keep young children entertained. The staff were excellent providing very interesting facts.

A must place to visit if you're in Great Malvern. Excellent stained glass windows and fantastic architecture everywhere you look. Has a nice little shop that sells local books and souvenirs. Also, don't forget the view through the keyhole at the far end. Highly recommend a visit here.

Malvern Hills, located in Great Malvern, offers sweeping countryside views and walking trails known for spring water. Visitors can enjoy a friendly atmosphere at The Brewers Arms, a village pub offering homely pub grub and a great selection of drinks. The area is also close to the Malvern Theatre and provides easy access to nearby attractions like the Cotswolds and Forest of Dean for outdoor activities.
Perfect place for one day hiking. Really enjoyed the hiking and the view from the top. It was really wonderful and memorable. Car parking price for wholeday is 6 pounds. There is two parking space is there. Amazing experience
Alen T — Google review
Gorgeous views and not too physically challenging with a short walk from the car park right into the hills with a choice or concrete paths around the hills or more rocky, stone paths up and over the peaks
Terri K — Google review
Beautiful place. One of the best hikes. There are several walking paths to reach up to the hills.

Escape the noise and pollution of the Cities and towns, of Human beings and head to the Malvern Hills in Worcestershire for breathtaking views. BE NURTURED BY NATURE Highly recommended 👑👑👑👑👑
Michael K — Google review
Wonderful place if you fancy a hike but don't want to climb a real mountain. It feels like a walk and you end up on the highest peak point of the hills. Sheep and yalk farm alongside. And stunning view of the towns on mountain foothills. Bring umbrella or rainsuit according to the weather as there's no shelter in case it rains or even if there are clouds. Because you eventually climb up into the clouds themselves.
Fatim S — Google review
We parked at west England quarry car park. And went up. First, we went up the smallest hill. It was really easy. But rocky to get back down 🪨. And then it was quite a walk to get to the Worcestershire Beacon. To get up to Worcestershire Beacon, it’s really steep at first, but when you get to this path, it’s easy. You can either go around or straight up another steep bit. I went up the steep bit so I can get more fit and have good muscles. Overall, it’s great to go if you’re an experienced walker. But you can still do it if you’re a beginner (like me) and you should come here if you’re local!
Harlow M — Google review
The Malvern Hills are listed as an "Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty". After a visit you will see why. Spectacular views to be had, overlooking Worcestershire on one side, and Herefordshire on the other. You can also see into the neighbouring County of Gloucestershire and also into Wales! You need to be pretty fit, and sure footed to scale the hills. It is quite a challenge to anyone who is pretty fit. There are several places to enter the Hills. One of the most popular being "British Camp". there is a good sized car park there. You do have to pay, but I'm not sure of how much? The Hills are lovely to visit at any time of year. No restrictions as to when you can and can't go. No charges. all free except for parking your car. Plenty of information about on various websites, for walks, views, entrance points etc. Dog friendly too. To walk from end to end is about 10 miles. When I was at school we did it every year as a sponsored walk. You will need most of a whole day to do it. Well worth it if your fitness is up to it.

Malvern Theatres, established in 1884, is a vibrant arts center and cinema that offers a diverse range of entertainment including plays, comedy, concerts, and films all under one roof. The area surrounding the theatre is rich in history and culture. Visitors can explore the nearby Croome Court with its stunning Capability Brown-designed landscape and delve into the musical legacy of composer Edward Elgar by following the Elgar Route or walking trails that lead to significant locations associated with his life and work.
Went to the first XL Comedy club and found the theater excellent. Plenty of space and loads of staff who knew what they were doing. The Air con worked and it is situated next to a beautiful park. Great visibility from where we were sitting and the sound system was excellent.
Eddie R — Google review
I had the chance to take a short visit inside Malvern Theatre on Monday 04/08/25 & looked around inside during my stay in the UK from Australia . It's been years since I last visited inside the Theatre, perhaps sometime in the 80's before moving to Australia. The exterior & interior looks very impressive being much more spacious & modern, café inside & many leaflets about different shows + local info. Also the gardens/Park also looks very well maintained. Very friendly & knowledgeable staff inside who made me very welcome.
STEPHEN N — Google review
Absolutely loved the show, it was an inspiration! But didn't love the prices at the bar. One vodka and tonic, one pint of fruity cider, one packet of pencil sweets and a twix and guess how much.... £21! I would have happily paid it if some was donated to cancer research, like Rhod's show. I looked around and noticed everyone else in the theatre was drinking hot drinks and I understood. What a shame, they don't realise that putting the prices so high actually negatively affects the sales. Won't make that mistake again. There's a brilliant bar just around the corner called Weavers if anyone wants a good pint, that's fairly priced and there's plenty of choice on tap as well.
Nicki M — Google review
We attended for the matinee of "2.22 a ghost story" on Wednesday 24th. What a very pleasant surprise, the theatre was great, large open area for dining & drinking, great views over the park. The seating in the auditorium was comfy, with great leg room. The best part was the play, the acting was great, plenty of jump moments & twists, with a healthy number of funny bits. Highly reccomend seeing it wherever you can.
David G — Google review
We recently visited Malvern theatres to see the Dead Ringers 25yr tour. The theatre is well placed in the town and there are several car parks within walking distance. There are two bars and a restaurant and an outside terrace area. We think it’s a great little theatre and have seen many shows there in the past few years.

SIX was great. The show was organised extremely efficiently, even with a full house. Great facilities and a speedy service at the bar. Its such a fantastic venue and we are so lucky to have it on our doorstep.

Lovely central location in Malvern. Great to have a choice of venues including a cinema. The all day cafe is a nice relaxed place to meet, with indoor and outdoor spaces- outdoors have great views! Not a great choice of food, but the coffee was good. Lots of steps (typically for Malvern).
Sarah G — Google review
This is a really great venue. Easy, cheap, parking at the back of the leisure centre makes it very easy to get to. We try to go here as often as we can and have seen pantomimes, ballet, plays and great comedians.

Priory Park, established in the 1870s, is located within the grounds of the Tudor Revival Priory Mansion. The park features a bandstand, ornamental bridges over a pond, well-maintained lawns, and an array of mature exotic trees. Visitors can enjoy striking views of the Malvern ranges and the Malvern Theatres in the Winter Gardens to the west.
What a great open space, right in the centre of town. When we went they had music on the bandstand, the children can play in the purpose built play area. There is plenty of grass to sit or lay on in the sun when it is sunny. The Malvern theatre has toilets and the bar for drinks or coffee and food. Parking is an around the town and it is not expensive. And just outside you have the free Malvern spring water, so remember to take some containers with you.
Andy M — Google review
Fantastic park in Great Malvern situated just below the theatre with views of the Malvern Hills. Beautifully kept ponds, areas to picnic, children’s play area is amazing.
Bluebell H — Google review
Priory Park was named after Peter Priory, the first man to sail single-handedly around Great Britain. He achieved this feat in August, 1621. The journey was particularly treacherous going through the English Channel due to the frequent ferry journeys between southern ports and Europe. Peter shouted himself hoarse trying to get them to move out of his way. He was also attacked by penguins whilst sailing around Scotland. He had to amputate two of his own fingers due to being savaged by a John Dory passing the Isle of Man. Peter was born in Malvern, the townsfolk honoured his achievement by building the park in his name.
Bill R — Google review
Really beautiful gardens with lots of play equipment and many seats and benches some under cover . On a sunny day you can buy ice cream and the nearby theatre has coffee and other drinks
Paul J — Google review
A lovely area , great park for the kids and live music was playing which was lovely I don't give a full five stars as the shop on site has ridiculous prices 2 bottles of water and 2 cans of Pepsi was £11 which i think is awful price. So I would recommend bringing along a picnic. Otherwise it was quite nice.
Angeline W — Google review
The views in this park always mesmerize me. It’s just lovely. They also have great wooden playground for kids, which my son find very entertaining. Usually there’s ice cream and drinks available to buy, if not u can always pop in to the theatre coffee shop (located in the park).
Krisztina V — Google review
Good young band playing today as part of the summer series of Sunday afternoon music concerts in the park.
Peter D — Google review
Lovely park for kids, for family picnics or a quiet drink from the theatre bar. Fantastic band stand that has music on summer Sundays. Ice cream bike doesn't seem to be there anymore, and it could do with some picnic benches.

History Museums
The Malvern Museum, located in a 15th-century brick gatehouse that was once the gateway to the Benedictine Priory of Great Malvern, offers a captivating journey through the town's history. The museum showcases local-history exhibits and artifacts, providing insights into various aspects such as the geological origins of Malvern, wartime life, and the Victorian era. Despite its relatively small space, it houses a diverse collection that covers medieval history and more.
So much information packed into a small museum! Well worth a visit.
Stephanie H — Google review
Small but perfectly formed museum, with a tiny section on early radar.

It's a two stored small museum which explains the history and development of Malvern. The museum building is constructed in 1400's. It explains the Malvern history very nicely. It have an entry fees of 2.5 pounds. Audio guide is included in entry fees.

I reckon it's possible to have a butcher's at everything in Malvern museum in less than two minutes. It's a teeny weeny place, only four small rooms with exhibits. Normally two and a half quid to get in, which is more than acceptable as it's the only money it gets to survive. For some reason Saturday is freebie day. Nice geezer at reception, he knew his stuff and spoke enthusiastically about the contents of each room. Only three stars? Sorry, I've gone back to comparisons with the Ashmolean. Worth a visit if it's raining outside, which it was. The roof doesn't leak.
Bill R — Google review
A lot of history here...also they hold markets depending on the day

Worcestershire Beacon, also known as The Beacon, is a 425-meter hill offering stunning panoramic views of Lickey Hills, The Wrekin, Severn Valley, and the Welsh border mountains. There are various routes to reach the summit, with one starting from Great Malvern railway station and passing through notable landmarks like Great Malvern Priory and Rose Bank Gardens before ascending to the highest point. A circular walk around Worcestershire Beacon takes approximately 1.
The Worcestershire Beacon, standing tall at 425 meters, is the highest point in Worcestershire and a prominent feature of the Malvern Hills. Known locally as The Beacon, it is a popular destination for walkers due to its extensive network of footpaths and the panoramic views it offers. From its summit, one can see across thirteen counties, with vistas stretching from the Bristol Channel to the Cotswolds, and even the cathedrals of Worcester, Gloucester, and Hereford on a clear day. The Beacon's history is rich, having served as a signaling point during the Spanish Armada, and it continues to be a beacon for hikers and nature enthusiasts seeking the tranquility and beauty of the English countryside.

Small hike of 20 minutes from car park. Great views & can spend easily an hour here as a tourist. If you are a hiker, it has a link of 3 hills connecting each other so you can hike around 2.5 miles in total around all hills.
AK B — Google review
Plenty of car parking around the hills. Many paths of various grades that crisscross the hills to get you to the summit. Views are well worth it. There is aka path that goes along the ridge between the hills. Well worth a visit if in the area.
Michael B — Google review
beautiful view, especially during the sunset
Angela — Google review
Had a fun climb up here, there are many different pathways you can take to get up to the beacon, and on the way the view gets better and better. Had a big load of fun climbing this hill! When you get to the top there is a sign to show you you have reached the summit and tells you the height of the hill and there is a giant map and compass to show you what you’re looking at. You can see wales from this hill! You can’t beat climbing a hill, admiring the view and eating lunch while looking off into the distance. There’s a good bit of wind even on a scorcher because you’re at the top of a hill too. Would recommend those who can to climb this hill.

Old Court Nurseries & Picton Garden is a charming destination for plant and gardening enthusiasts, housing the RHS collection of Michealmas Daisies. This picturesque site is open from August to October when the Asters are in full bloom. Despite its proximity to a main road, the garden offers a peaceful and serene atmosphere. Visitors can explore delightful pathways that provide an insight into a well-maintained working garden. Admission is reasonably priced at 3.
Looking for gardens to visit we saw this advertised and turned up at opening time 11.00. Received warm friendly greeting from staff. It's just £5 each (or 2 for 1 with Gardener's World card). Really impressed with the gardens there's so much to see we spent about 2 hours slowly taking it all in and there are several benches to sit and rest on - a great variety of plants also in the sales area including some unusual looking succulents. Prices seem quite reasonable. In case anyone is wondering there was no tearoom. Would love to come back if we've over this way again.
Dawn P — Google review
A beautiful and well maintained garden! We paid £6 to enter and also had a RHS card, so free to go. We bought our dog with us and she enjoyed wandering around the paths with us. There were plenty of flowers blooming and a riot of colours everywhere! We perched on some of the benches to stop and look at the flowers! It’s so peaceful and there was something different to look at, at each turn. There’s no toilet or catering facilities. The nursery had a great selection of plants for sale!!
Elisa W — Google review
An exquisite plantsman's garden with adjacent nursery. They host the National Collection of Michaelmas Daisies, which were at their absolute best during our visit in mid-September. The gardens are densely planted with so many interesting plants. The visit was a joy.
Ian T — Google review
Visiting during a holiday in the area in June and fairly keen gardeners, we had to pop in and have a look around while we were here. This is an interesting nursery and garden with an entrance fee of £5 a person to have a look round the garden. I've added a few photos and we found the variety of plants really interesting. If you are a gardener it is worthwhile visiting. A friendly word from the woman in the nursery, when we arrived too. A good welcome and but for a long journey home and a few days before we left, we decided not to buy any plants (for once) though we're tempted.

A nice small garden in Herefordshire overlooking the Malvern Hills. We had mixed weather end of the summer, some rain. But when the sun came out, so did the bees and butterflies etc. No café here, but was one down the road in Colwall Stone. The toilet in the small building behind the barbecue area. Nice and clean.

Beautiful gardens, interesting guided tour telling us all about the history of the garden and the plants. Stunning display of michaelmas daisies at the end, quite breathtaking. No refreshment facilities on site but a lovely cafe not far away.

In Malvern on holiday, searched the app for gardens locally, and this came up. What an absolute treat and inspiration of a place, with a great welcome!! Rose Bank Gardens is a hidden gem located on the outskirts of the Malvern Hills, offering visitors a peaceful retreat with stunning views over Great Malvern and beyond. This charming garden is part of the 'Route to the Hills' and provides access to St Ann's Well via the famous '99 steps.' Once home to donkeys that carried visitors during the popular Water Cure Treatment era, these gardens now stand as a beautiful reminder of history.
Lovely gardens and great views.

First time here and its a really nice garden with 2 metal statues, pretty flowers ,lovely location and view looking onto the hotels and can see the top of the cathedral .

The first Winter Olympics were held in Chamonix, France, in 1924. Rose Bank Gardens was chosen as the training ground for the British team. The park was ideal for the ski team due it being entirely built on a hill, unfortunately it failed to snow at any point during 1923 or 1924 therefore the British failed to win any medals due to lack of practice. The ice hockey team managed to come third in Chamonix despite there being no ice in the park, they built up their stamina by playing water polo in the duck pond. The Winter Olympic committee realised they had made a mistake in their choice of training grounds and future practice was moved to Scotland.

Nestled within the picturesque Rose Bank Gardens, St Ann's Well is a delightful destination that beckons visitors to explore its charm. A short climb up the famed '99 steps' leads you through a scenic zig-zag path in the woods, culminating at this Grade II listed building managed by the Malvern Hills Trust. Once renowned for its healing spring water during the 1800s, it attracted many seeking rejuvenation through 'Water Cure Treatments.
Little cafe in the middle of the Malvern hills. Lots of seating, natural water fountain. Landscaped small garden and pond. Toilets.

Steep walk up to the well. Tarmac path through the trees is in good order. Disappointingly the room the well is in needs some significant refurbishment. Instead of just locking the wrought iron gate, the well is barricaded behind ugly blue plastic fencing, so it can't be clearly seen. Just take out the plastic stuff! Cafe only open Fri, Sat and Sun.

Lovely walks to it ,(some paths quite steep). Nice sitting areas outside. The room with the well in could do with a bir of a clean up to be honest, but worth a visit. Sadly didn't have time to try the cafe

We had a couple of pints in here on Saturday afternoon for the first time. I'm usually up and down the hills before opening times so I've never had the chance before. A great pub with a friendly, welcoming gaffer. Fantastic. We didn't have food so I can't comment.

Wonderful little pub on the way up or down from the malverns. Met Baron the dog! Sat in the beautiful garden in the sunshine 🌞 Josh was very accommodating, great guy! Made us feel very welcome! We will definitely be back!

Visted this quaint little pub at the bottom of the Malvern hills today. Such a pleasant atmosphere and couldn't have been made anymore welcome by the landlord Josh. Nothing was too much hassle for him. He provided water for my dogs and I had the pleasure of meeting his dog Baron. If you ever get the chance to visit Malvern then this pub is a must !! Thank you, will be back.

Wow, what a find. After a long walk up St Anne's Well onto the Malvern Hills we decided to stop here for a well earned drink. Sat in the garden area at the front and watched the world go by whilst resting. Josh was extremely helpful and friendly and by the looks of the boards there is lots going on so we will definitely be back, thank you!

Amazing food real home cooked food. The steaks taste like no other. Lovely pub very quirky and rustic but lovely atmosphere.
Suzanne S — Google review
Empty apart from us two,it was only 5 pm though. Apparently the Thai restaurant attached is very popular, and has great reviews, the European menu didn't have the beef which we wanted so we didn't eat here. I tried several ales but nothing tasted outstanding. It seems worth another visit though, I hope it was an off night.

Saw the Stop:Start textile exhibition which was absolutely fabulous! The venue was very pleasant with a relaxed welcome and a simple cafe area. The house has been beautifully restored. I'd recommend the venue. One little niggle. The 2 low hanging lights above the piano cast an annoying glare obscuring artwork on the wall by the door. This may have only affected shorter people....

I stopped there for brunch with a group of eight cyclists. We were made to feel very welcome, a table was specially cleared so that we could all sit together. Fantastic venue for our private party last Saturday! The staff at the Cube were brilliant, from planning beforehand with Lucy and Christian, to the event itself with Shay, Steven and Suzy - everyone was really helpful, attentive, thorough and friendly. Our band was able to set up without hitches, and the one or two pieces of equipment we forgot were easily replaced by something in-house! The room and bar looked great, with the paper lampshades, the tablecloths and the lamplights. Also it was great that you were able to set up some tables outside as the weather was perfect. The whole experience was excellent, from first planning to final clearing away! HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ANYONE THINKING OF HOSTING A PARTY/EVENT!

We recently hired the Café space and Orange Room on a Sunday afternoon for a gathering to remember our Mum’s life. The venue could not have been better for us. The building has a welcoming vibe and the garden at the front is lovely. The café space with chairs and tables, as well as some small sofas and armchairs, was ideal for the celebrant to speak, and for people to sit, talk and eat afterwards. The Orange Room had more than enough folding tables for our buffet plus additional chairs. It also has a projector, so we were able to have a slide show of photographs. Being able to have the folding wall between the 2 rooms open made it all feel very accessible. The Cube Manager, Michelle, was extremely helpful and the hire cost was very good value. My Mum loved dogs, so it was great that they are allowed in the building. We would totally recommend The Cube for an event such as ours.

Group of 8 cyclists visited The Cube for refreshments and snacks. We were made very welcome. A bit limited on the snacks available but the toasties and cakes were of the highest quality. A great pit stop after cycling from the Stourport and Stourbridge areas. Some of us have been there previously and will visit again. The bikes are safe at the rear of the building, visible from the cafe room. Peter T (STOURBUG).

The Yew Tree in Conderton is a fortunate discovery, randomly chosen for an evening meal. It has become a beloved destination due to its charming ambiance and cordial staff. The pub seamlessly combines rustic and modern elements, with tasteful decorations and careful maintenance. While waiting for our table, we enjoyed drinks at the bar beneath the low beams, which require caution. The pork belly main dish and chocolate brownie dessert were both delightful and each mouthful was full of flavor.
Tranquil location in a remote village, excellent pub with a beer garden out the back, added bonus personally is they have gluten free options on their menu, remarkable for such a small town! Had the fish and chips with onion rings and mushy peas and couldn’t have been more impressed, I highly suggest stopping by if you’re around the Cotswolds

When you go and stay in a rural village you are reliant on the local pub being friendly, serve good food & drink and an atmosphere to relax and enjoy. Thankfully, as we stayed next door, this is a place that does it all very well. An excellent and extensive menu that made it difficult to choose just one and customer service above and beyond. We went for steak pie & katsu curry if it helps you to narrow down your decision, my stomach is rumbling just thinking about it now.

Simply amazing! Some of the best food I have had the pleasure of eating. Good portion sizes, well presented and cooked to perfection. The staff were very polite and attentive which helped provide a lovely atmosphere. We will plan another holiday up this way in the future for the sole reason of being able to eat here again we enjoyed it that much. The only downside is the lack of parking, particularly if you have a full size SUV so arrive early as you may have to search down the really narrow lanes before you get lucky.

Well on a holiday, We went to The Yew Tree on GREAT REVIEWS. Well was SO disappointed. The roast was cold. The meal was outstanding,if was warm,l would like to say great chef..The young girls was working hard.

John J — Google review
I've never been there,in fact, I've never been across the pond. However, this place caught my eye back in 1987 or '88 when I read Hans Holzer's fascinating book "The Great British Ghost Hunt". Holzer mistakenly mentions the Herefordshire beacon as the Hereford beacon in the chapter "The countryside is full of ghosts". I'd like to quote Holzer here: But the most chilling episode in her unusual life happened while she was still a little girl, living at Gloucester House, Malvern Wells, about a mile from her aunt. Not far from there is an artificial hill called the British Camp, also known as the Hereford Beacon. It is situated on the main road from Malvern to Ledbury and is one of the higher hills in the area. The summit of it is terraced and is, in fact, part of the old Roman earthworks which were built in this area. “I had a very fiery French governess named Chevalier. One afternoon we were walking on the Hereford Beacon and sat down to rest. I remember clearly the sound of sheep cropping the grass and that wonderful scent of juniper. Suddenly I heard the tramping of feet that grew heavier, and over the Malvern Hills to the Beacon came a long line of men marching. We were on the east side of the hill, looking down over the reservoir toward Eastnor Park. There were hundreds of men, some mounted cavalry with a standard-bearer and the rest foot soldiers. I was only six at the time and had not yet started history. The men wore what to me looked like skirts, but there were helmets with plumes and a standard-bearer with a huge bronze-colored eagle. I called to Mademoiselle to hurry and get out of the way and dragged her to one side. She was naturally very shaken, but the men vanished as they reached a certain point of the Beacon. I was fascinated but not afraid, as they seemed quite real. I was sure that we would be walked into, since they marched without breaking line or seeming to give way. But Mademoiselle did not see them. She yanked me home to my aunt’s, and I was considered to be ill and was put to bed with aspirin.” Mrs. Warren-Browne’s family is Roman Catholic, and the entire area around Malvern is one of the strongholds of English Catholicism. Evidently the family had discussed her strange behavior with a friendly priest, Dom Rodger Huddleston, of a distinguished Roman Catholic family. The following morning, Father Huddleston came to see the little girl. “As we sat in the garden he talked to me quite casually about what I had seen,” Catherine recalls, “and he told me I must have seen ‘a picture in time,’ for the Roman legions fought a big battle against the Britons and Saxons in this area. He also told me that Cerdic, the Saxon leader, was often seen riding when war was about to break out, and that many people in the area had actually seen him.” (As told by Elizabeth Warren-Brown to Hans Holzer)

During my recent exploration of a charming Victorian station, I stumbled upon "The Technology Station," a fascinating museum dedicated to the evolution of radar and other cutting-edge technologies that originated in Malvern at a once-secret facility. The couple overseeing the museum were not only welcoming but also incredibly well-informed, having firsthand experience working on these groundbreaking projects. Their passion for the subject made my visit even more enriching.
Found this little gem of a museum by accident today while visiting the grade 1 Victorian station. A very well put together history of the development of the Radar (& later more modern technologies) that were developed in Malvern at a top secret site. the couple who were "Manning the Station" were delightful, friendly and incredibly knowledgeable as they had both worked on the site. I could not recommend this attraction highly enough. Check the opening times first, as they are limited, before visiting.

Alan did a wonderful job restoring a painting passed down to me by my grandad. Being sentimental to me I was very careful who I chose to restore the piece. The original artwork store was the perfect choice. Great service, fantastic restoration, professional advice. I will be using Alan again in the future.
Thomas W — Google review
Alan restored a 100 year old family painting which had been ingrained with years of smoke from tobacco and coal/wood fires. From the very first contact Alan was informative and very clear about the work needed and the cost/time it would take. I was prepared to wait the anticipated 3yrs but surprised when it was finished earlier. The finished result is so good all the colours jump out of the picture. My great great grandad who painted the picture was a real amateur who painted for fun but Alan has now given us a picture that will hopefully be in the family for another 100 years. A truly talented man.
Eileen G — Google review
Alan is hugely knowledgeable and very skilled. I asked him his view on what needed to be done to conserve a much-loved 300 year old Dutch portrait that had become rather tired. I very much enjoyed the preliminary sleuthing Alan did with his UV light, which revealed a lot of interesting detail about the physical history of the picture. We considered in detail the best way forward, and he and I agreed that minimal conservation would be sufficient and would best preserve the picture’s “story”. He cleaned the picture and repaired bits where necessary, and the result was stunning. All the colours and detail came to life, without making the picture seem ‘restored’. He also revived the gilded intricate wooden frame, but then ‘aged’ it so that it was not too shiny. Overall, he managed to achieve a very sensitive restoration, with which I was delighted, and might I add, he did this for a very reasonable price. He told me it would take him a few months because he was busy, and it did, but the wait was certainly worth it, and anyway, who wants a speedy restoration?! I cannot recommend Alan highly enough.

Alan did an absolutely fantastic job on cleaning up a painting that had a lot of sentimental value to us. It was a painting my late wife had done but in one of her many redecorating urges, she had taken the painting down and (unbeknown to us) stored it in the garage unprotected. There it had got bent, dirty and had mould on it. Alan cleaned it up, touching parts up where needed and reframed it, and it now looks exactly as we remember it when it was up on the wall. Thank you for a first rate job.

Alan restored a very old and much loved oil painting and frame which had fallen off the wall and suffered significant damage including a rip in the canvas. The result was extraordinary and the painting looks fabulous......really glad we found him!! Price was reasonable and Alan was a pleasure to deal with. Would highly recommend.

We are absolutely delighted with Alan’s restoration of our large portrait and original old frame which needed a great deal of work. It has been done with expertise and sensitivity and looks amazing. We would thoroughly recommend Alan and it was definitely well worth staying on the waiting list. Thank you Alan both for your work and care and also for your interest in our inherited painting and its likely history. Margaret and Andy

Alan has just cleaned an oil painting that has great sentimental value to me. He managed to fit the work into his busy schedule and has done an amazing job. The picture has been truly brought back to life and has been re-stretched nicely into its frame. Can't recommend Alan's work highly enough. I am delighted.

I am so impressed with the way Alan has restored my painting. It had been mistreated for many years and had some bad scuff marks and water damage. Alan removed the old varnish, removed the badly done over-painting, filled and touched up where needed and re-varnished. He also sensitively restored the frame. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend his services.
