Museum
STEAM - Museum of the Great Western Railway is a captivating museum located in the heart of Swindon, housed in the historic Brunel workshops. It offers an immersive experience for visitors to explore the rich heritage of Britain's Great Western Railway. The exhibits showcase world-famous locomotives, archive film footage, and a recreated station platform that evokes the glamour of the steam era. Visitors can walk under a full-size express engine, adding to the unique experience.
Brilliant museum we went for comic con back in 2023 now 😀 and had a brilliant time toilets 🚻 as soon as you walk in and a cafe as well. Lots of things to do and learn the trains and people are so life like it amazing it was packed when we went there everything is tidy and clean lots of disabled access parking is outside only small but charged and unavailable at some events so use the shopping mall car park over the road brilliant 👏 😀

Was in town for an event this weekend and thought I might aswell pay this museum a visit. It is very well presented with lots of exhibits, both interactive and static, and it isn't just steam trains either. On my visit there was also access to the footplates of the locomotives being manned by the volunteers which was an added bonus. Most of the staff were friendly and there are plenty of facilities on site including a gift shop, cafe, and toilets. The only thing that let it down was the staff in the cafe, the girl at the till who was scrolling her phone and drinking a can of red bull didn't even look up when I went up to order, and they were talking loudly in a foreign language, which is a shame as the food was nice and reasonably priced aswell.
Shane — Google review
Great museum with really good first person video accounts from people who worked there building trains. Lots of interactives suitable for a range of ages and everything really well displayed. Easy parking in the shopping centre car park and lots of public EV charging there. Good place to stop off if you are on route to or from the west or wales as it’s easy to divert off the motorway.
Linda R — Google review
Had about an hour to spare in the area so thought i’d pay a visit. Wish I had more time as there’s a treasure trove of stuff to discover. Really extensive immersive displays, videos and collections. I was impressed, but it was a shame to see very few other visitors (on a Friday afternoon). Some of the staff on the ticket desk could perhaps be more friendly, but others were great.
Marques — Google review
A fantastic musuem with a great collection. The story telling and education is certainly well thought through, delivered in multiple ways for a wide audience. But what's better still is a visit during one of the many great events held here. Our favourite is the Great Westen Brick Show, put on by Brickish (a LEGO User Group). This fills the entire museum with incredible LEGO models that sit alongside the already impresive artefacts. Well worth a visit.
Mike F — Google review
If you like Trains then it’s already obvious that you have to come here. But for everybody else, there’s a surprising amount also. There’s a lot of great stories about the different types of people that were required to build a site and build all of these locomotives. There’s quite a lot of work that went into picking out the route and building the railroad itself before even they got around to building the steam engines and the cars. I didn’t realize that there was a large effort on marketing to drive tourism using the rails, but there’s a good explanation of all that as well. It’s all well laid out and there’s very friendly people to explain stuff. It’s a good visit.
Lon W — Google review
I'm staying at Warner's littlecoats and looked on Google what to do in the area and came across the steam museum. I thought it's just something to do to pass time. However it was Amazing. Very interesting and also interactive and informative. I thoroughly enjoyed myself
Simon H — Google review
On my visit it was also a Lego event which was good as that’s what I had gone for! But do check your dates in case you just want the steam theme The steam related exhibits look absolutely amazing so I will be going back .. so a win for the museum there. If arriving by train at Swindon, check out the GWR website as they have “2for1” entry tickets for rail ticket holders.

Coate Water Country Park, located off Marlborough Road near Swindon, is a beloved destination for nature enthusiasts and families alike. The park boasts extensive parkland, a wildlife nature reserve, and a kids' splash park. Visitors can explore the diverse lake habitats and bird hides while enjoying activities such as fishing, birdwatching, and pitch and putt golf. The nearby Coate Water Railway offers miniature ride-on trains for added entertainment.
Lovely place to walk your dog. Lots of children feeding the ducks swans and the geese when they arrive. It's a long way round. There's playground toilets food drinks a crazy golf and pitch anf putt not active whilst I was there. My dog loved it. Wheelchair friendly I was on my mobility scooter and got around. Plenty of room for picnics. Will go again.
Julie C — Google review
Coate is a lovely place to go to for a nice walk. Even if you want to just have a sit down and relax and take in the views, also has a picnic area. Splash park for kids ( and elders if u feel like it 😆).
Jojo W — Google review
A beautiful lake to walk around a Coate Water Country Park. Taking in fresh country air whilst enjoying breath taking scenery. The lake is a beautiful site welcoming all. Joggers, pushchairs, dog walkers, fishing and also cyclists. With a trail going around the lake to take your stroll, you will find plenty of seating to just be still and take a breath taking it all in. What better way to reconnect with nature but most importantly yourself. A true stress relief to be still amongst the water and the trees. All types of birds can be spotted here through all seasons. Come rain or shine the Country Park will give you a welcome escape from a fast paced life. To allow you to press pause or connect with others. Enjoy mini golf, the Coate Water cafe, a splash Park through summer, miniature railway ride, bird watching, Enjoy picnics, walking groups and lots more... There is a small charge for the car park but if it becomes a firm favourite to visit, I would recommend buying a years pass for parking. You can even link it to Lydiard Park should you wish. Then visit both sites as many times as you like.
Katie T — Google review
Beautiful gem of Swindon, huge lake to walk around. The park also includes a splash park, golf and the miniature train ride which is my favourite. The cafe offers varying hot and cold snacks. Its well worth a visit you won't be disappointed.

Great country park with flood parking. Lots of woodland walks surrounding a reservoir with a bizarre old Olympic style diving board in one corner. Worth a look.

Located in Theatre Square, the Museum of Computing in Swindon offers a fascinating journey through the history of computing. Run by volunteers, this museum showcases hands-on exhibits and retro game displays that trace the evolution of computing technology. From primitive calculating devices to vintage Macintosh and PCs, visitors can explore a 75-year timeline of computer technology. The museum also features active displays and serves as a platform for lectures on computing history.
My 2 children and I, along with some other families had a lovely experience here. It really seems to be a hidden gem in Swindon. The staff were all very helpful and knowledgeable. The place is full of old computers and games to play. My 7 year old and I had a long session of competitive Pong! The highlights for me were playing Lemmings and original Mario. It was eye-opening for the kids to see how gaming has changed over the years. Ticket price is very reasonable as you can stay there as long as you want and leave for lunch/come back. Fab way to spend a rainy day in Swindon!
Natalie A — Google review
What a great little museum! I was impressed by how many retro computing items they've managed to fit into such a small space, and the entry price was very reasonable. It was a nostalgic trip down memory lane with plenty of things to look at and interact with. The staff were especially wonderful—so welcoming, friendly, and knowledgeable.
Thomas S — Google review
A great place to visit in Swindon that is very reasonably priced, an adult ticket is £5. There lots to see and plenty to do. For adults, there are lots of nostalgic exhibits that brought back many childhood memories. For children, it’s a great place to learn and see what the older generation used and played with. The staff are very knowledgeable. During my visit, Simon was able answer lots of questions and was very helpful.
Nick K — Google review
We booked a private visit for a home ed group today. This included a 2 hour exclusive visit and a scratch coding lesson if wanted (for approx 8years+) The kids had so much fun playing the retro game consoles and on the computers. They also had lots of things in display cases and information all around. Staff were fantastic with the kids and explained how things worked when needed. I honestly cannot recommend enough! Rest assured all the screens and lighting worked perfectly- it is just my camera.
Hiker M — Google review
This place far exceeded my expectations. It is clearly curated with a passion for preserving computing. Although it is dimensionally a small museum, they have crammed an awful lot in. There were loads of machines on during our visit, meaning there was plenty to have a go on. They also have loads of interesting information and extra things to see in display cases. I would highly recommend if you have an interest in computing and video gaming, but it is still interesting even if you don't (my mother enjoyed it and she isn't interested). It's also very reasonably priced. I would very happily go again.
Stephen D — Google review
This is place is fantastic, staff are great, brilliant computers, consoles and tech from years gone by, staff and friendly and helpful. My 11 and 6 year old daughters enjoyed it too, well worth a visit and I'll definitely be going back.
Michael J — Google review
A great place to visit, with some historic and rare computers along with a chance to play classic retro video games
Marcus A — Google review
I love this place! Second time I’ve been now, when in the area as I don’t live local and there isn’t much I would come to Swindon for but this place is definitely a selling point! Unique and special! Never been to a place quite like it! And highly recommend a visit! Multiple times! Great fun! 👍😁

Located on the edge of Wiltshire County, Designer Outlet Swindon offers a diverse shopping experience with over a hundred stores featuring fashion and athletic brands. The outlet is situated amidst picturesque natural beauty and is easily accessible from destinations like Stonehenge, Oxford, and Bath. Visitors can enjoy a variety of dining options at the Harvester Swindon, which serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner daily. Additionally, the outlet provides a children's play area for families to enjoy while shopping.
🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Great Shopping Experience at Swindon Designer Outlet! I had a fantastic time at the Swindon Designer Outlet — such a well-organized, clean, and welcoming shopping destination. The selection of stores is impressive, with great deals across top brands. Whether you're shopping for fashion, homeware, or just looking to treat yourself, there's something for everyone here. The atmosphere is lovely, and the layout makes it easy to navigate. I also appreciated the range of food options available for a nice break in between shopping! The staff at various stores were friendly and helpful, creating a really pleasant experience overall. I’ll definitely be coming back — highly recommend if you're in the area or planning a shopping day out!
P R — Google review
What started as a quick detour on our way back to London turned into the most relaxed shopping experience we've had in ages! Arriving two hours before closing on Friday was absolutely brilliant timing - no crowds, no stress, just peaceful browsing through a genuinely charming outlet. The £2.50 parking felt totally reasonable, and honestly, it was refreshing not getting gouged like at some places. The covered design is genius! While most UK outlets leave you battling whatever weather throws at you, this place keeps you cozy year-round. Perfect for our unpredictable seasons. We snagged some great sporting goods and fashion bargains - yes, "discount" designer prices are still pricey, but definitely better than full retail madness. The food court and coffee shops were perfect for a quick break, and everything felt clean and well-managed. Two hours flew by exploring this compact but well-curated space. It's refreshingly manageable - you can actually see everything without feeling overwhelmed. Our spontaneous stop turned into a thoroughly pleasant shopping adventure that left us both happy and satisfied!
Sam A — Google review
Visited the Swindon Designer Outlet mainly for clothes and shoe shopping and was really pleased with the variety and the deals available. Lots of well-known brands and genuine discounts, so it’s easy to find something good without paying full price. The whole outlet has a nice, relaxed atmosphere, clean, bright, and well organised. It’s great that most of it is covered too, so the weather doesn’t spoil your day. There are several cafés and restaurants, and I appreciated that a few have halal options, which made eating there much easier and more enjoyable. They also got solat / prayer / multi-faith room near to Clarks, Slim Chickens, French Connection. It’s also very family-friendly, with play areas for children and plenty of space to walk around with buggies. You can easily make it a half-day trip with the family; shopping, eating, and letting the kids have some fun. Parking can get quite busy, especially on weekends, but overall it was a really good experience. I’d definitely recommend it for a relaxed shopping day with family or friends.
Abdul H — Google review
All I can say is this is the best Designer Outlet I have been too! Although M&S Outlet didn’t have any air con it was too hot in there. Besides that they have a very good brands at the Outlet. Worth a visit if you’re driving along the M4.

This place is a hidden shopping gem in Swindon. There are a host of Mid level brands available to shop at. There are also a lot of food outlet like Five Guys, Starbucks, Mexican etc. The toilets are clean and makes me feel ive got a bit of Dubai in Swindon.lol. It was a good place for me to kill time before my train. There is also a dedicated play area for children.
Joshua M — Google review
I really do like this mall. Although its not massive, it has a good variety of stores for shopping, and particularly boasts a great selections of places to eat and drink. I frequent this place regularly and can say that its always been impeccably clean and seemingly well-run. Kudos to the staff and management.
Barry ( — Google review
It's ok. Best part is that the management company were able to use a world class old building to develop as an outlet, complete with stream locomotive and historic plaques

Nice set of shops, not the largest outlets around though. Parking is plentiful and free for blue badge holders. Nice system of scanning the blue badge when returning to the car to get the free parking.

Love this place. We watched Michael Jackson tribute and he was incredible. Seats are pretty small, but the place is older. Parking ok, you have to pay. Good facilities and very lovely staff.
Ginny C — Google review
We went to see the Swindon Youth Project production of Annie. Such a brilliant show!! However, the theatre was far too hot, no air conditioning and the doors were kept closed. It’s a great theatre and there isn’t a bad seat, it just needs some investment (or a completely new one if the council ever pull their finger out!!). The staff are friendly and the food and drink is extortionate!!
Clare H — Google review
Small personal theatre, seats comfortable. Reasonable prices in bar. Plenty of parking, either a small car park out & multi storey just a few minutes away. Only issue was that it was so hot..take a small hand held fan.
Gill H — Google review
The show was amazing (Annie) the theatre was far too hot. Everyone in the audience was struggling with the heat. Make sure you bring a fan. The staff were lovely.
Freya L — Google review
A lovely compact and bijou theatre which has a wide & diverse range of entertainment. We saw The James Bond Concert Spectacular which was wonderful & actually narrated by an original Moneypenny, Caroline Bliss. The staff were lovely and very helpfully, which added to our wonderful evening.
Maz M — Google review
Great venue, always clean and staff are friendly and helpful. Seats are fairly comfortable and most have adequate legroom. Good range of shows and plays throughout the year.
Jeanette D — Google review
Went to see Tap Factory at Wyvern recently. Car Parking is not easy as very limited spaces close to the Theatre. Nice cafe/bar area selling good drink options. Food options pretty limited. We had a great view of the stage from our seats in the Stalls. Sound quality was very good. Staff were helpful and friendly.
Tony Z — Google review
Well a fantastic show, however the ventilation is appalling. Even the band performing complained how hot it was inside. Half time looking going outside on to the balcony, looked towards the court building, visitors are greeted with overflowing bins and homeless people's tents. Not very indearing for the reputation of Swindon. Considering it's closeness to the Civic offices and the amount of community tax we pay, can we not keep areas seen by visitors to our town clean and less seedy looking?

The Swindon Museum and Art Gallery is a cultural gem, showcasing an extensive collection of artifacts spanning from prehistoric times to the modern era. The museum boasts a remarkable assortment of 20th-century British art, featuring works by renowned artists such as Lowry and Nash. Situated in the heart of Swindon's burgeoning cultural quarter, this newly designed structure near the Wyvern Theatre serves as a cradle for safeguarding these precious assets.
Love the new museum, only thing I'd change is; make it bigger. Love the building and the fact that the displays change every couple of months. Enter through the main doors, head up the stairs (or lift) The history part is on your left, the art on the left, shop in the middle. Unfortunately no cafe. The history part is great for locals, taking us back for some geology dinosaurs and then though prehistory, Roman and middle ages to modern day. Loved the boards on the walls - full of facts about Swindon very well written. Great for taking kids as there is lots to look at

It was my first here and I wish I come sooner. It's a peaceful atmosphere- if you need a place to meditate this could be one place to do it. Most paths are unpaved- don't forget you boots during the wet seasons. Overall a lovely place for those long walks, alone or with friends and family.

Fabulous place to go for a walk! Lots of nature to explore, nice little cafe on site and Garden shop. During term breaks they provide nature trail sheets and different activities. We went and found a Teddy Bear Picnic hunt and my little ones loved running around finding the bears. Nice place to feed ducks too. Not to mention the amazing wooden carved sculptures dotted all around the huge area of walks and cafe space!

Nestled on the outskirts of Swindon and Highworth, with a free car park. Stanton country park is a lovely place to get away from the hustle and bustle of life, with many tracks to explore and streams, and lakes, and sculptures to enjoy as you walk around. There is a coffee shop open most days and the country house the other side of the grounds. Ducks and swans live on the pond and you can see fish if you go into the fishing platforms. Overall a lovely spot to go. Be cautious there is a height barrier on the entrance but this was not in use on the weekend.

The Swindon & Cricklade Railway has a rich history dating back to the 1880s when it served a wide area in the West of England. After being shut down, a preservation society revived a section of the line between Blunsdon Station and Hayes Knoll in 1978. Today, visitors can enjoy a nostalgic steam train ride through picturesque Wiltshire countryside on this heritage railway.
Absolutely brilliant time! This felt like a proper festive experience and our family loved every minute. The whole station, walkways, train, cafe etc are all dressed head to toe in decorations it must have taken weeks and weeks to do. All the staff are volunteers and were so invested and passionate about making it enjoyable for everyone and put so much effort in talking to us. Santa was super lovely and realistic! The train ride was brill and loved having our own carriage to sit in. It was all so authentic and well looked after. Also, the presents my kids got were soo lovely. My son got a puzzle/drawing set which he was so chuffed with, and my baby had a beautiful quality teething toy - so well chosen. Also food and drink really reasonable prices. Just had the best time - thank you to all who made it so special.

We recently visited the Swindon & Cricklade Railway during their Thomas the Tank Engine event, and it was an absolutely fantastic experience, especially for my nephew. This place truly knows how to create a magical day for children, and we were all thoroughly impressed. From the moment we arrived, the excitement in the air was palpable. My nephew was beyond thrilled to see Thomas and the other engines up close. The highlight of his day was undoubtedly getting to board the train. Watching his face light up as he gazed out the window, waving to everyone as we chugged along, was a joy to behold. The train ride was a charming journey through beautiful countryside, and the nostalgia of the classic steam engines brought a smile to everyone's face. The live show put on by the crew was another standout feature of the day. The performers were engaging, energetic, and kept the children entertained from start to finish. It was a well-produced show with lots of interaction, ensuring that every child felt involved in the adventure. My nephew was mesmerized, clapping along and shouting with excitement as his favorite characters came to life. This alone made the visit worthwhile, and it's clear the organizers put a lot of thought and effort into creating a truly memorable experience for the little ones. Beyond the train rides and the show, there were other fun activities that kept my nephew entertained. The bouncy castle was a huge hit, and it was great to see the kids burning off some energy in a safe and supervised environment. It's the little touches like these that make Swindon & Cricklade Railway such a family-friendly destination. I will say that the food was a bit on the pricey side, with a portion of chips costing £4. However, this is fairly standard for attractions like this, and we found the quality to be good. The on-site cafe was a lovely surprise. I treated myself to a slice of sprinkle cake, and it was absolutely delicious! The cafe offers a nice selection of cakes and drinks, providing a perfect spot for a quick break while the kids enjoy the day's activities. While there's not a huge amount for adults to do, Swindon & Cricklade Railway is undeniably a paradise for children. Watching my nephew have the time of his life made the entire trip more than worth it. If you're looking for a day out that your kids will absolutely love, this is the place to go. The staff were friendly, the atmosphere was welcoming, and the whole experience was wonderfully nostalgic. We will definitely be back for more family fun in the future!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I recently took my son and 9 month old daughter to the Swindon and Cricklade Railway Santa Special, and I can confidently say it was an incredible experience that exceeded all our expectations! From the moment we arrived, we were enveloped in a festive atmosphere that truly set the stage for a magical day. The attention to detail and effort put in by the volunteers is nothing short of commendable. You can really tell how hard they’ve worked to create a memorable experience for families and children. Every aspect of the event, from the beautifully decorated train carriages to the cheerful greetings from the staff, was thoughtfully executed. It was heartwarming to see so many dedicated individuals come together to spread joy and Christmas spirit. As a parent of a child who is obsessed with steam trains, this experience was particularly special for us. The excitement on my son’s face as we boarded the train was priceless! The ride itself was a delightful journey through picturesque scenery, accompanied by festive music and the enchanting sound of the steam engine. It felt like stepping into a Christmas storybook! The highlight of the day was, of course, meeting Santa. The volunteers went above and beyond to ensure that every child had a special moment with him. The warmth and kindness they showed made it a personal and memorable encounter, and my son couldn’t stop talking about it for days afterward. We’ve created a new family tradition, and I can’t wait to return next year. It’s experiences like this that unlock core memories and create lasting joy. Thank you to all the volunteers at Swindon and Cricklade Railway for making this such a magical day. You truly couldn’t do enough for us, and we are already counting down the days until we can visit again! Highly recommend the Santa Special for anyone looking to create unforgettable holiday memories with their loved ones. 5 stars all around! 🎄🚂✨

My friend and I decided to visit the railway today and were hoping to get a peek at their class 73. Sadly it was in the workhop, but the staff here went way above and beyond to make our visit both informative and memorable..... and we got to see the class 73. Thank you Stan and all the volunteers at this wonderful railway for making us so welcome. We will definitely return and look forward to riding the new track extension once its approved.

Just had a fantastic day (14/6/25) on the Swindon and Cricklade Railway Despite its shortest length (4.5 miles) , it packs a lot in. The main station is at Blunsden (a few miles outside Swindon) and offers a nice cafe (i believe inside Norwegian coaches) serving Jackets pots , sandwiches and some hot food , a little shop and a small but packed museum filled with Railwayana. Along the line you can see the multitude of old carriages and wagons awaiting restoration and at Hayes Knoll you can find the main locomotive shed. The volunteers were very friendly and I had a good old chat with a very enthusiastic and well informed engine driver. All in all a great day out and very reasonable priced at just £10 for a Rover ticket.

There is not much to do around just a small cafe, shop and a train which goes one stop backwards and one stop forward, for just £10/- which I found expensive for nothing just to sit in a small gauge train. Nothing excited honestly. If you are planning to walk there, don't coz the roads are very sharp turn you can't see the vehicles coming.

Visited on a Day out with Thomas. Really well run event. Plenty of parking, well organised site, and fun activities for the children. Would recommend for any Thomas fans.

First Class for £6! And no rushing crowd either. A really good way to spend a morning with your little one(s). Wallet friendly and supports a volunteer run operation, keeping these beauties alive. Much more fun than a static museum, from kids and grown-up perspective too.

The Richard Jefferies Museum is situated near Coate Water Country Park in a charming 17th-century thatched cottage. It serves as the former home of renowned nature writer and ecologist, Richard Jefferies. The museum offers free entry and features exhibits alongside lush gardens. Visitors can also explore nearby attractions such as the Railway Village Museum, Lydiard House Museum, and Steam or Go Wild at the Richard Jefferies Museum for an enriching experience.
Regular seasonal free events and entertainment at this venue in addition to the interesting history of Richard Jefferies. Tearoom serving hot and cold drinks, cream teas and cakes. This afternoon we enjoyed listening to the talented Bob Bowles.

This is a beautiful calming place to go for a couple of hours. Don't rush - chillax in the house and gardens. Enjoy a snack and a nice cup of tea supplied by the wonderful staff in this olde world gem! Although it is only open certain days there are a number of special events to tempt you to find a free afternoon to return. There's a pub/restaurant next door and easy access for a walk in Coate Water.

I've been visiting the Richard Jefferies museum for a long time now, the people who run it are vollenteres that attend infrequently, as you can expect that normally means they are very sociable and try hard but cannot always answer all questions or know all the information. This doesn't matter too much as there is normally someone somewhere that can. I enjoy the friendly and relaxed atmosphere. The Richard Jefferies museum holds many events throughout the year but not every weekend, so it's best to check ahead, the events are normally aimed at family and learning, seasonal and history themes. I've taken toddlers there for nature events, pensioners there for history and tea in the garden and adults there for music events. I've also been to poetry and book reading events, apple/cider press demonstration with a steam engine and train events. I love popping in on a summer's weekend for a cup of tea and a cake, the kids still enjoy romping around in the gardens and hiding in the trees.

This place is amazing. Both my children did the younger childrens one. There were so many activities and different routes I think its far better than go ape. Booking was easy and the ladies working were really nice and approachable. They came over to check we were getting on okay. For a Satuday I was shocked we had the place to ourselves! I'd definitely recommend!!

7 & 6 year old children did the green blue and red routes. Took nearly 90 minutes and they had a great time - weren’t quite feeling up to the black route. Good value for money in my opinion and better than GoApe establishments that we have visited in the past. There is also a really good playground directly outside.

The Jungle Parc is great fun and there is something for all levels of adventure. My 7-year-old son worked through all the colours to the black course and had a wobble halfway around. One of the employees - Issy - was on hand to help and took the time to climb up to him and guide him to the end. She was very patient and supportive - outstanding work. Thank you. I can't recommend Jungle Parc enough.

Mouldon Hill Country Park, located near Swindon, offers a pleasant stroll around its Amenity Lake and the old dried-up Swindon Canal. The park features wide and level pathways, making it easily accessible for everyone. It attracts various wildlife, including birds like Cormorants perched on posts in the lake. Visitors can relax on benches scattered throughout the park and even enjoy fishing if they are members of the Angling club.
Very nice for dog walking. There is a large field near the car park that is great for dogs that like a run and/or to chase balls. Your dog needs to have good recall or a training lead as most dogs would be able to fit through the fence.

Lovely, small theatre. Staff very friendly. There isn't a lot of leg room so be prepared for stiff joints when you go to leave 😄

The show "Peter Green" was excellent. Very talented musicians, the sound mix was perfect between instruments. The Bar prices are an absolute disgrace - you are forcing people to bring in their own drinks. The ownership should really consider their prices. There is now way the prices should be way above London Theatre/West End show prices.

Love this place but they really are taking the mickey now. £9.54 for a pint of cider. It's difficult enough to afford the theatre anyway but to treat your customers like this is a joke. I've paid less at The London Palladium. Will never buy anything from the bar again.

An intimate and charming theatre in Old Town, Swindon with charm and character. The theatre presents a variety of performances from Shakespeare to Kafka, comedy acts, live music and child-friendly plays. Seats are comfortable, however, very little leg room even for short people like myself! One bar area that can become very busy during intermissions, however, staff work really hard at serving people as quickly as possible. Drinks are served in plastic glasses that can be taken into the theatre, they are then recycled which is a great initiative to save on plastic waste.

Located adjacent to Kidz About, The Golfing Hole is a miniature golf course that caters to older kids, teenagers, and adults. Visitors can enjoy clean premises with friendly reception staff and pleasant music playing in the background.
Don’t know what peoples issues are with the place! Had an amazing time, nice guy on reception, clean, decent music, challenging holes. It really is what you make it. If you want to have fun you’ll have fun!! As two adults this was hilarious, they’ve got a proper choice of drinks and alcoholic drinks. I didn’t drink because I was driving but for anyone who wants to the option is there! Had an enjoyable time!
William D — Google review
This place was a little different to the usual golf I've been too, the theme was a little different being a sort of junk yard. The staff were really friendly but there were a lot of kids so I think this is more aimed at kids rather than the older ages, the course has some really good holes too but some lacked a little. The place looks a little run down and could use some TLC to make it shine again. Loved the maps at the start of each hole showing the easy Vs hard routes I thought that was brilliant, would have been nice if we had a place to tee off from each hole rather than plopping it down. The price was very good, I paid online for 2 people with a slush drink for £19 so no complaints there. Overall I'd give the place a 6/10, sole good features but needs some attention to get the score up for me.
Bobby N — Google review
Children would love this and good for a cheeky second date if you're not looking to impress but want to have a laugh and make lasting memories of something god awful but fun. The place is very worn down but they're trying!! Staff all seem happy to be there and helpful. Toilets clean and coffee reasonably priced. We visited on a Friday night and the place was completely empty. My son loved it. He is on the spectrum and gave up using the club on hole three. But the staff didn't mind him using his hands to pot the ball. Some parking but not a lot - especially if the soft play is busy (it is the building next door).

Good fun for adults or children. Some of the holes are very basic and far too easy but there are a couple of challenging ones. Many of the holes are very similar and I got quite a few hole in ones which shows how easy some are. However we enjoyed all the same and had a game of pool too. Was pretty hot so did become uncomfortable in the heat and wearing masks.

Great Western Railway, also known as GWR, recently provided good customer service to a passenger who experienced very late and cancelled trains from Worcester to Evesham. The passenger had to take a taxi instead and was offered a refund of half the train fare and the full taxi fare in a fast and hassle-free process. This demonstrates GWR's commitment to addressing customer concerns effectively.
I was on the 17:05 ish train Didcot to Swindon when I met Ryan. A friendly steward who not only served me tea, at a reasonable price of £2.80, but also says #SconeAsInGone. Thanks for your friendly service, the tea was just what I needed!!

I made a reservation and reserved a seat, but there is a green available mark on the seat and no one else is already sitting out and moving. All four members of the family had to split up and sit down on different trains. If you're going to run it like this, why make a reservation? Just sit anywhere and go.
Jaeho S — Google review
I recently travelled with GWR on one of their Intercity Express Trains and overall, the journey was a mix of highlights and letdowns. One of the best aspects was the fare structure when booking multiple connecting trains which is similar to how connecting flights work. This made the overall cost much more affordable, which was a great surprise. The views along the way were also stunning, with classic British countryside scenery and wildlife like sheep and cows making the journey feel scenic and peaceful. The train itself had some smart features, especially the seat reservation system. Small digital indicators above each seat showed a red or green light depending on whether it was reserved, and if so, it displayed from which station the seat would become available (e.g., “Available from Bristol Parkway”). It was a genuinely helpful feature that made finding a spot much easier. Luggage space was available both above the seats and in designated areas, which was convenient for travellers with suitcases. Food and drinks were available for purchase, and bathrooms were onboard. However, the cleanliness left something to be desired. The floors were visibly dirty in several areas, and parts of the interior felt worn down. Delays were also an issue—many trains, including ours, were running late by anywhere from 10 to 40 minutes, which is frustrating when you're relying on tight connections. Unfortunately, the Wi-Fi was one of the biggest downsides. It was nearly unusable - not strong enough to stream videos or browse websites effectively. At best, it could handle a basic WhatsApp message, but don’t count on it for anything work-related or even casual browsing. While the GWR Intercity train offered beautiful views, smart seating, and reasonable pricing for multi-leg trips, issues with cleanliness, delays, and poor Wi-Fi definitely impacted the experience. A bit more attention to maintenance and connectivity would go a long way in improving the journey.

Have a ride every month from Exeter st David's to Penzance on a 125 the best train there's ever been, since 1986 (my first trip) the trains have half the coaches, 8 down to 4, the big comfortable chairs have long gone & where there was a table for every chair there's only 2 tables per coach plus they have put about 30 % more chairs in per coach so some chairs you don't get a window view & less leg room but still better than most gwr trains, train fare from Axminster to Penzance is £20 with a old dears Railcard so good value to go on a 125, one day it will cost hundreds to go on a 125 on a rail tour, in 1986 was some 125s with 2 restaurant coaches with blokes dress in white coats, wish I had a meal on one as there's nothing like now with GWR, a couple years ago they removed the old fashioned signals in Cornwall & replaced them with lights which is less enjoyable going on GWR, it's a shame the station land as been built on so less station buildings tracks ect to see, most of the signal box's have gone, not many waiting rooms or toilets on platforms, not many ticket offices. GWR staff are good, a lot of them don't know what a 125 is, yet lovely sir Jimmy savile was always on the television ads with intercity 125s. He used to say this is the age of the train and everyone believed in everything he said & went on trains as they thought sir Jim was best person in the world which he was bless him, now it's the age of the mess. Only the Japs & Germans can run trains on time, there's no disaplin in this country. There's speakers in trains that keep talking all the way in though a journey, another reason iv stopped using trains Once the last 4 125s go there will be no reason to travel with GWR, have travel a lot on the railway when it was British rail & never had one late or cancelled train, but since it's been different companys like GWR it's sorry to announce the train is late or cancelled or bus replacement nearly everyday Was good to see the old railway buildings at newton abbot (little Swindon) as it used to be called but nearly all the old buildings have been destroyed & the land built on like Taunton Exeter stations. Last year the line from Exeter to Axminster was closed for a few days and at Exeter st David's station they paid for a taxi to Axminster so I could get back to Weymouth, they could of put me on a train to castle Cary than GWR train to Weymouth to save paying for a taxi. So badly run if paying for taxi when they have trains, needs new manament at Exeter st David's, taxi driver told me they been doing dozens of taxis from Barnstaple for weeks & since Corona a lot of people are not going by railway as it's a unreliable he said, keep saying the signals & points are broken yet 80 years ago there was 3 times more trains running around & never had all that. have noticed there are less people going on trains since the 1980s, used to like looking out of train windows but look out the train windows now & see millions of flats & houses, some built right up to the platform, it's a disgrace, notice since Corona virus & Poldark on the television when Cornwall had millions of visitors there's not many on GWR trains now going to Cornwall as they were ripped off by Cornwall people cashing in, now visitors staying away from Cornwall,

Very Disappointed Paid £43 to Stand the Whole Journey! I travelled today from Bath to London and paid £43 for a ticket, only to find the train overcrowded and had to stand the entire journey. There were no available seats, and the train was packed beyond reasonable capacity. This is completely unacceptable for the price charged. It felt more like a rush-hour metro than a long-distance train service. When customers pay that much, we expect at least a seat and a minimum level of comfort. Unfortunately, today’s experience was frustrating, exhausting, and totally disappointing. Please improve your service and capacity planning this is not what passengers should expect in 2025.

Booked standard return tickets from Reading to Bristol. As a disabled traveller I have to meticulously plan our travel, this includes seat reservations to ensure I have a seat for our journey. I like to be independent and always travel with my wife, therefore I do not book assistance help as I have my wife to help me. Imagine our surprise when we boarded our train in Reading to Bristol 16:25 on the 11/09 and NO seats were reserved at all !! So our journey started by sending my anxiety levels through the roof. After the journey I contacted GWR via social media, phone call & email and to be honest no one I contacted was remotely interested in what had happened. Just kept saying the train manager reserves the right to cancel all seat reservations for operational reasons. So despite me trying to get out of my car and use public transport this episode has put me off for life and I will use my car in future as I cannot take the chance of my seat reservations being cancelled again. Thanks GWR for putting this disabled traveller off train travel for ever.

Despite the large number of people, it was an enjoyable train ride from London to Camborne. Some slight delays but not a problem. I will utilize the service again and again, very affordable transportation.
JT F — Google review
If the train was meant for standing passengers, it should have been designed with proper handles or support. We paid a high price for tickets, yet there were very few stops and no available seats in economy. Why sell tickets when there’s no space to sit or even stand comfortably for such a long journey? This isn’t a metro—it’s a long-distance train designed for seated travel. We had to stand all the way from First Class. If this is the service offered, the price should be much lower. Overall, a horrible experience.

Los Gatos is a bustling Spanish restaurant known for its familiar dishes like paella and tapas. Originally a small establishment, it relocated to a larger building in 2014 due to its popularity. The family-run business prides itself on using locally sourced ingredients and providing great food and service. Visitors praise the delicious tapas, including cod in batter, anchovies, and crab cakes.
A fantastic tapas restaurant! We went on Monday and it was packed which is always a great sign. There were 2 waiters and they must’ve been so busy but they still made sure we were looked after. The food was incredible and so tasty. We didn’t have to wait long for it to arrive. The cider was also good! We were told 2 plates each would be enough. We had 3 each with a bowl of bread - I think 2 plates and the bread would’ve been enough. Highly recommend this place. It was also really cheap - £65 for 6 tapas, a cider and larger

Possibly one of the most popular restaurants in Swindon. However in my opinion this restaurants is very average at best. Small portions (even for tapas!!!) and highly overpriced. Restaurants itself is designed beautifully, lovey ambient and very clean. Service provided was OK. At the beginning of our visit, we felt well look after however, as the evening progress staff stop checking on us and we have not been offered additional drinks, dessert or coffee, etc. Dishes I have ordered were OK, but nothing more than that. For 4 chunky chips and 4 tiny slices of pork I had to pay £11 which is ridiculous! Personally not a place I would recommend for a dinner. But I see why it is so appealing to others. Strongest points, definitely good location, beautiful design of the place, and very clean. Food and service - really depends on personal expectations and previous experiences in other places. For me it was just OK.

Los Gatos serves some of the best tapas I’ve had in the UK! The portions are generous, and the flavors are rich and authentic. The casual, cozy setting makes it a perfect spot for a relaxed evening out.

Great variety of tapas dishes and all fresh and full of flavour. The ham croquettes and battered fish were fantastic. The service was great and as it wasn’t busy they moved us to a bigger table so we had more room for all our food. Very tasty sangria too! I have eaten here many times and it never disappoints. Since they’ve had the renovations I think it’s only got better. My favourite restaurant in Swindon by some distance.

Visited Los Gatos for an early dinner and honestly it was DIVINE. The food was so tasty, we enjoyed every dish we got. The best tapas place we have been to. The service was great - our waitress was super friendly and attentive. There are so many options to choose from on the menu and the interior of the restaurant is lovely too, a real authentic feel. We would definitely recommend this restaurant and visit again.

Tried it out. Popular place. Still recommend it. I found menu to be smaller than I expected. Service was okay-good. Speed could have been worked on, especially for drinks (as a first) whilst waiting for food.
TheKaKaNow Y — Google review
Service was amazing. But the prices are ridiculous. We ordered 5/6 tapas dishes. Came to about £90 (we had a drink each as well). Very small portions of tapas (the tortilla is literally one slice with some salad leaves) it was also very burnt so wasn’t typical of that Spanish taste. The calamari was really not nice. No seasoning, just tasteless. Had to leave it. I’ve been to lots of tapas restaurants with much bigger dishes and tastier food. Cannot fault the service though.

Not enough staff Long queues to get in Then, a long queue to get bingo books Long queue to order drinks The food was OK tea and coffee at a good price. Could do with being spruced up deep clean would help. One member of staff was running around like a headless chicken doing almost everything serving, bringing meals, helping customers. They tried to make up for the bad experience, but unfortunately, we have decided not to return. Huge carpark!

A place for well-being and mental health referrals. This is also open to the public on certain days and is well worth a visit. This is a lovely, friendly place. The gardens are set out as different rooms, allowing for different themes. They sell a selection of good quality plants grown by themselves, which is worth checking out, even if you do wish to spend time in the grounds. An added bonus, the lovely volunteers sell their cakes in the café. I can highly recommend the orange and almond sponge. 💕

Broome Manor Golf Complex is a top-notch public golf course in the UK, consistently ranked as the best in the South West for several years. The complex offers stunning views of a well-maintained landscape just south of Swindon's Old Town. Golf enthusiasts can enjoy a choice between a 24-hole course and a 36-bay floodlit driving range. While some areas of the fairways and greens are under repair, there are ongoing investments in improving the facilities.
First impressions is very good & I’m not a golfer but my son has started his journey with the sport. Found the staff friendly, welcoming and happy to answer questions. James Wiltshire is my son’s tutor, he is professional and patient. Shop staff are brilliant, very helpful and informative. Let’s not forget crew from the cafe, always polite and make a good flat white.

So disappointed with the golf course £32 as a guest and the greens are anything but green. Mud would be a better description. Avoid this course if you love golf because it’s got joke greens at the moment. Disappointing attitude in the cafe after to so much so that 5 people walked out due to no staff in cafe 😔
Brendan O — Google review
Broome Manor Golf Complex is a brilliant blend of accessibility, challenge, and charm. Whether you’re a seasoned golfer or just starting out, this place offers something for everyone. The 27-hole layout is well-designed, with the 18-hole championship course offering enough complexity to keep low handicappers on their toes, while the 9-hole course is ideal for beginners or a quick round after work. The greens are usually in great condition, and the fairways are well-maintained considering the high footfall. The driving range and practice facilities are a major plus—perfect for warm-ups or working on your swing. What makes Broome Manor stand out is the atmosphere. It’s welcoming, community-oriented, and not overly pretentious. The clubhouse has a relaxed vibe, the staff are friendly, and the food and drink options are solid. Whether you’re playing competitively or just unwinding with friends, it’s a great spot to spend a few hours. Overall, Broome Manor is more than just a local course—it’s a reliable go-to with excellent value for money. Definitely worth checking out if you’re in the Swindon area.

Pretty good municipal course, plenty of room to open your shoulders and give it some. Greens lovely to putt on. Fairways nice and well covered. Tee boxes seemed a bit neglected. It just seemed to lack TLC.
Len ( — Google review
Played here on Saturday 14th June with a small society, 27 holes. We have been coming here on a regular basis over the past 8 years or so but after Saturdays experience it will be our last. The 9 hole course has been changed, for the worse in my opinion, having to incorporate the holes which were on the far side of the driving range, this has made the 9 hole course a lot shorter than it was with considerably more Par 3 holes. The 18 hole course remains unchanged but some of the greens were in poor condition not up to their usual standard. On arrival at the club we were hoping to have breakfast as we had done on previous years but all that was available were Sausage Baps or Bacon Baps already prepared and wrapped in foil stored in a hot cabinet on the bar no other hot food. There was worse to come having finished our morning 9 holes we'd planned to have lunch before playing 18 in the afternoon only to discover there was no hot food being served no menus on the tables, it was unbelievable, a busy golf club not serving food ? We packed our clubs away and headed to a nearby pub (The Spotted Cow if you find yourself in the same situation) they seemed very happy to serve us and we enjoyed good food and a few drinks. After we had played our afternoon round we returned to the "Clubhouse" for a drink only to be told whilst waiting for our drinks that " we will be closing in 30 minutes" it was 6.30 on a Saturday in the middle of Summer. we drank our drinks and left. The day cost £46 and for the experience we had I think is overpriced, at no point were we told about the above issues when we booked, sorry but we won`t be returning.

Some of the best facilities for miles. This venue has a big Pro shop, great driving range and club house. Once on the couse you'll find it well manicured. The Greens were consistently good too. But the bunkers were consistently awful. It had rained the day before, all day. The bunkers are filled with sharp sand and this type of sand holds water. Sharp sand also likes to bind together and that is why builders use it under patios and in foundation work. It does not make good bunker sand as it has all the wrong qualities. They had not been raked for days and could not be with the rakes provided . Such a shame but hence 3 stars.
Peter B — Google review
Played there recently - the course is in awful condition - worst I have ever seen it. Most of the greens are bare/very sandy - putting is a complete lottery. Prices have gone up by 35% but course has gone backwards by 75% ! There should be warning signs about the condition of the course + a discount ?????

The Brunel Shopping Centre is a vast shopping complex in Swindon, offering a wide range of brand-name and independent stores, as well as restaurants, cafes, and a food court. It features over 100 shops including popular brands like M&S, House of Fraser, Topshop, River Island, Pandora, and more. The center also houses outdoor facilities for activities such as tennis, squash, and football.
I went to visit a close friend in Swindon and she took me to Brunel Shopping centre. There's an arcade in the shopping centre. Once you pay a gate fee, you have access to play all the games. The kids loved the arcade, the food court was good. I treated myself to Herbs and Health store by having acupuncture and body massage worth while. The food was yummy and great portions too.
Gozie A — Google review
It certainly feels better than the rest of the town centre, although the with the current work they are doing, it means you have to walk all the way around the building instead of straight into the shopping centre. Shops are limited, but compared to the rest of the town centre, it is nice to see actual shops you can go in!
Tristan S — Google review
Don't walk around the Brunel Centre taking pictures 'cos they'll escort you to where the managers hang out and lock you in a room. Don't deny it Brunel, you locked me in a room. Wouldn't have been so bad but Mr. Snotty tried to argue law with me, rather unsuccessfully, I hasten to add. The Brunel Centre is dying, much like the whole of Swindon. They've just spent thirty-three million on a new transport hub just so you can wander around a dirty old town, looking at people, most of whom seem to be thoroughly miserable. I'm never going back to Swindon, unless I'm kidnapped and locked in the Brunel Centre room again. Do yourself a favour. Avoid the Centre, avoid Swindon.
Bill R — Google review
Absolute waste of time one half is completely closed so when you park in the car park you can't walk through anymore you have use the lift to go to the bottom and then risk your life if you have a pushchair to get out. Toilets are clean but the food is over priced rubbish, arcade is ok priced but always busy so you end up waiting a while for a go or dont get a go on the games Only decent think is the veg and fruit stall

The Brunel Shopping Centre in Swindon is a spacious, well-maintained place that makes shopping easy and enjoyable. From the moment you walk in, the wide, open walkways give you plenty of room to move around, even on busy days. Everything is kept clean and tidy, which really adds to the pleasant atmosphere. There’s a great range of shops here, covering everything from fashion and beauty to technology and homeware. Whether you’re after big high-street names or smaller specialist stores, you can usually find what you need without having to go anywhere else. The variety means it’s ideal for both a quick trip for essentials and a longer day out browsing. The food courts are another highlight. There’s a good choice of places to eat, from quick takeaway options to sit-down meals, so it’s easy to grab a coffee, enjoy lunch with friends, or take a break between shops. Parking is conveniently close, making it simple to pop in for a short visit or spend a whole afternoon here. Overall, The Brunel Shopping Centre combines space, choice, and convenience, making it one of the best shopping spots in Swindon. I would definitely recommend it for a relaxed and hassle-free shopping experienc

The only word I can use is DATED! When will the upgrades come to this place. It has been an absolute joke the past few years with random shops opening. No notable places to shop at. If you’re from out of town don’t even bother coming here honestly! Just the basics here

Such a beautiful place. You get good views of the bridge from here. Have restrooms. Tons of information about the bridge and the place is available there.
Joseph A — Google review
Brunel Shopping Centre is a decent place for shopping with a good selection of stores, including well-known brands and some independent shops. It’s conveniently located in the heart of Swindon, which makes it easy to pop in for essentials or a quick browse. However, the centre does feel a bit dated, and it can get quite crowded, especially on weekends. Some areas feel a little cramped, and a few stores seem to be understocked or in need of a refresh. The food court is nice but could use a few more diverse options. Parking can be tricky, and the layout isn’t the most user-friendly. Overall, it’s a good spot for a quick shop, but it could definitely benefit from some upgrades to improve the experience.

I liked their trampoline park. It was quite enjoyable for my young child... £9 or less... It's great for a whole family of an active bunch.. Even great to have some fun for the teenagers... The swimming pool and ice rink was not in operation two weeks ago and they said it might take a month or more to be back in operation. They also have a soft play area for toddlers for £6
Gayanka G — Google review
Decent arena. Parking is alright. The flooring needs done. But all the seats are really close to the rink. Entire thing just needs some love. Hey the work done and it would be a lot nicer.
Stephen H — Google review
Sunday public session, may, 12pm, rink was basically getting empty. The people who tell you “you cant do anything with your legs” should have more sense before saying that. Especially when the rink is half empty, you just had a private lesson, and you aren’t actually doing any aggressive or dangerous skating. Let people enjoy themselves, and skating marshals have some sense when you speak. Not all skating marshals are this bad luckily, but she had little sense.
Lisa C — Google review
We arrived quite early today but we were allowed to come in and wait before our alloted slots became available to do the activities we had booked. Which were ice skating and trampolining. The car park is situated quite a walk from the entrance which i find unusual. Especially for blue badge holders (unless i missed a completely different car park I'm unaware of). There are a lot of hand gel stations within the complex and staff are wearing masks. Toilets are showing signs of wear and tear but the industrial style of the building seems to be in otherwise good shape. The cafe was closed today (sunday). It is the rules in the trampoline park to wear trampolining socks. These are purchasable for an additional £2.50 but the staff bounce on the trampolines with trainers on. Staff wise there seem to be plenty floating around for safety measures and to help if needed. During the orientation the tv was not working (pretty sure it wasn't working on our last visit over a year ago too) so a member of staff gave us a rundown of the rules instead. My husband took my daughter on the ice rink. He lasted five minutes before giving up as the boots he hired did not fit his feet. They were not wide enough. Oh dear!
Natalie M — Google review
Been there for ice skating in the past which has always been great. Have also visited the softplay previously - it's okay especially for younger ones. It's just not very big and definitely not for the older kids. This time we visited a bounce session which was great fun.

Decent for children, cafe isn't cheap. Staff are nice bit slow in the kitchen at times. Toilets are disgusting some days excrement on floor. Needs assessment for safety as seen a member of staff swinging a kitchen knife around mid conversation with another member of staff whilst cutting birthday cake.

I didn't go( for whole 2 years) , because of the reviews here. I was invited to a birthday party last month and i was gutted I had not gone before. My son loved it so much and the toilets were very clean! Theh even have baby seats on the actual toilets!! I'm not sure what people are expecting from a soft play, but you do have to go with your child around and you can't expect staff to be babysitting your kids, while you are on your phone. The only downside was the food (compared to the one at the birthday party) wasn't amazing, but the usual you get in a soft play with hot buffet.
Alex B — Google review
Our favourite soft play but the food has gone down in standard. Adults meal had not even a handful of chips, I was quite disappointed but otherwise, lovely place.

Great day for my daughter and nephew, however... the food left a lot to be desired. Also, if staff are working in the kitchen, they should have their hair tied back! The young lad in there delivering food and washing up, if you don't want to tie your hair back, get a hair net! The girl working the desk, miserable looking. No staff really keeping an eye on safety. There were about 4 or 5 kids, running up the drop slid that was closed. Standing on the ledges at the bottom. Kids are the parents responsibility yes, but you also have a duty of care

Cups were dirty for kids to drink from ... I wasn't there for years the only good thing I saw was the new floor. Nothing else changed since I was years and years ago . The lady who made coffee had no idea what's the difference between late and cappuccino. My coffee didn't taste like coffee was just a warm milk ....

From the moment we arrived, the staff were welcoming and friendly, putting the kids at ease straight away. The facilities are excellent and well-kept, with plenty of variety to keep them entertained. The food on offer was a pleasant surprise too—tasty and reasonably priced. Best of all, the experience offers great value for money considering how much climbing time they got. Our twins are now completely hooked, and we’re already looking forward to our next visit. Highly recommend for families.

We went as a family with our 2 daughters on the last Sunday of half term and as you can see from the photos this is the most filthy, disgusting, dust ridden soft play you will ever go to. It used to be a great trampoline park but ignore the photos on google these are all gone now. What replaces it is rat boxes under benches where the kids sit. And it cost us £74 to go! There is a layer of dust over everything our children were on, by the end we were covered and coughing the rest of the day as a result. This place is a health hazard and needs to be closed. I’ve obviously reported it to the council so they will be inspected. I did speak to the manager who said none of the dust was on anything the kids were crawling all over (which was completely inaccurate it was everywhere and on everything, even in the parents waiting area). The toilets were filthy and overflowing it looked like no one had cleaned or checked on them all day. The queues were out the door and there’s nowhere to park. Someone even smashed into another persons car while we were there and drove off the spaces that are there are too small! Not only is this place a waste of money it is a health and safety nightmare and needs to be shut down until they can do a proper deep clean, remove bags of rubbish from behind the slides and sort out some partitioning between the climbing centre and the children’s soft play. Please I’m urging you not to go and if you’ve had the same experience here please contact the council so this place can be closed while it is properly investigatedTo

Seems and looks great fun for all ages,as I was travelling through the area my son wanted to attend.Good value £14 for an open session but £3.50 for the branded socks!!! My son would have preferred the wall climbing but that unfortunately was an afterthought but all the equipment looked great fun.i did notice how the whole place was covered in dust and the cobwebs hanging down from the former warehouse ceiling were massive! Very good friendly staff.

New venue is awesome, completely different with lots of fun challenges and games for all ages. We loved playing on the Ninja timer game (and I lost every time!). The strike arena was also great fun and super tiring! Football zone was great as well. Super friendly staff and great food with a lovely view over the venue. Lots more to do there now for the older kids as well as the younger kids.

We recently visited Freedog Swindon for a Clip ’n Climb session booked for my son. Initially, he was quite apprehensive and hesitant to participate. However, the two staff members overseeing the session were incredibly patient and supportive. Their encouraging and understanding approach helped ease his nerves, and before long, he was fully engaged and thoroughly enjoying himself. It was evident that the staff genuinely enjoy their roles. They were attentive to all participants, ensuring everyone felt comfortable and safe while having fun. Their enthusiasm and dedication significantly enhanced the overall experience. The session was well-organised and not overcrowded, allowing ample time for each participant to explore the various climbing challenges. The range of activities available was impressive, catering to different skill levels and keeping everyone engaged throughout. Overall, our experience at Freedog Swindon was exceptional. The supportive staff, well-maintained facilities, and variety of climbing challenges made for a memorable visit. I highly recommend Freedog Swindon to anyone looking for a fun and supportive climbing experience.

My two children, (8 and 13), had a fantastic time at Freedog today. What really impressed me was the organisation. It was all really well explained when we arrived and the briefing was clear. The gentleman doing the briefing even threw in some warm up exercises which I thought was a great touch. It was clear that the organisation take Health and Safety very seriously as the staff were vigilant making sure everyone was safe and able to participate. All the games in the Freedog arena were well manned which ensured there was no pushing in or pushing or shoving on the equipment. What was also great was that the Ninja Course was sufficiently challenging but not so difficult that the children couldn’t participate. I loved being able to watch my children from the upstairs viewing area while enjoying a delicious coffee carefully prepared from the friendly young lady in the cafe. I genuinely don’t have a bad word to say about our visit today and we look forward to returning sometime soon! 😊

An escape room center in Swindon, UK called Incarcerated challenges groups of up to 6 people to escape from bizarre and thrilling rooms in under an hour. The different rooms include the Dose of Death and Prisoner of War, each with its own cryptic clues and time limit. The experience is a great way to test your investigative skills as well as your physical ability - especially if you're teaming up with friends!
5 stars well deserved. Simon the host was fantastic. Best escape room we have done! Challenging and fun for all the family. We will be back 👍🏻

Great escape room, enjoyed by the whole group and would definitely reccomend! Excellent host and puzzles for everyone to get involved in with varying difficulty.
Portia A — Google review
We attended as a group of 3 to try the tortured soul escape room. We were greeted by Simon who was very friendly and welcoming, and then locked into what is honestly the best escape room I have taken part in. No padlocks, just plenty of great puzzles to test your logic and problem solving skills! Plenty of spooky action too, a few jump scares and blackouts to keep the horror vibes going. Honestly a fabulous experience, would highly recommend! Can't wait to go back and try the other room!

One of the best escape rooms ever. The developer and owner super hilarious and shows so much love to what he has created. I will definitely go back there. P.S please be gentle on the staff you’re handling when you solve your puzzles he’s probably having mini strokes in the control room

Really cool escape room, excellent host. Puzzles were hard but doable, the balance was just right for my team of 5 colleagues. Definitely want to come back and do the other room!
Emmeke V — Google review
If you're in Swindon for a team outing, I can't recommend this enough. The room we tried (Conspiracy-21) was quite tricky, really got us thinking and a lot of the activities required proper coordination so did a great job of 'team-building' like we wanted it to. The team that run it are clearly very passionate about the rooms; it shows in the amount of thought that has gone into some of the puzzles. As an added bonus, they were very accommodating of our reschedule request as well so bonus points for that! Again, can't recommend them enough if you're looking for a fun group activity in old town/town centre. We'll definitely be back to do the other room!
Akshay D — Google review
The game master team were really helpful as we got delayed getting there by an accident and they managed to fit us in. The game was really fun with no padlocks and a solid story that underpins the the clues. A nice touch was that the clues when they came were much more organic, in that they were messages from the ghost and not just the GM dropping in to give us a hint. A really well thought out room.
Graham W — Google review
Absolutely INCREDIBLE escape room! This was my first trip to Cryptology in Swindon and we tried our hands at their horror room: Tortured Soul! It was so much fun- we managed to get through quickly- the puzzles were enjoyable and scratched the detective itch in my brain something fierce! The GM was a great laugh both before and after! Super friendly and even let me know that I lost an earring during a jump scare! Defo will be returning to try Agenda 21 in the near future!

Lydiard Park is a stunning historic estate located in Wiltshire, offering 260 acres of parkland with a Palladian house, church, and walled garden. The park features opulent 18th-century interiors and provides a kids' play area for families to enjoy. Visitors can explore the rich landscape of lawns, woodlands, lakes, and pasture while taking their dogs for a walk or run.
Lydiard Park in Swindon is such a beautiful escape! The parkland is so well-maintained with lovely walking trails and plenty of green space to relax. Perfect for families with kids or anyone wanting a peaceful day out. The historic house and church add a nice touch to the visit - really interesting to explore the local history. The lake area is particularly scenic and great for a quiet walk. Love how spacious everything feels here. Great place for picnics, dog walking, or just getting some fresh air. Free parking is a bonus too! Definitely one of Swindon's best outdoor spots for a lovely day out.

Stunning location for a buggy friendly family day out! Highly recommend a visit! We accidentally landed here on Race for Life day so there was even more going on than usual but still with lots of quiet places to enjoy ☺️
Kelly H — Google review
Lydiard Park offers a charming escape, with expansive grounds that come alive in the summer months as families gather for picnics under the sun. A tranquil lake graces the landscape, though it’s more ornamental than inviting for swimming. The Lydiard House Museum, while splendid in its preserved elegance, had only a handful of rooms open during my visit, which made the experience feel somewhat limited. Similarly, the beautifully maintained walled garden, though delightful, may not fully justify its modest entrance fee. Practical amenities such as ample paid parking, clean toilets, and an on-site café make the visit convenient, and the presence of a historic church and a fenced paddock with ponies adds to the park’s pastoral charm. All in all, Lydiard Park is a lovely place to while away a few peaceful hours.

This is a wonderful park area to suit all kinds of needs, from children, to adults to small or big groups. It is also good for those with mobility probmms as it has wide flat paths. I liked that you can book a bbq on the large field, stroll to the lake, play on the fields or playground. Or even visit the museum. The parking is ample but I walked through a lovely forested memorial garden to get to the park and left by foot a different way. Well worth the visit. The cafe and ice cream were good. There’s also toilets… a bit old but clean and functioning. Dogs have to be kept on a leash, and cannot go into food premises. But they do sell dog treats. The ice cream shop was very reasonably priced, delicious and value for money. My dog had a good day! Also the @Artpass gets you into the museum for free!

The University Church of St Mary the Virgin is a stunning CofE place of worship with an intricate 14th-century spire. It's located on the High Street and offers breathtaking views of the city from its tower, making it a perfect starting point for your day in Oxford. The church also hosts regular musical recitals and events, adding to its cultural significance.
The University Church of St Mary felt like the soul of Oxford. Its spire reached gracefully into the sky, while inside the stillness carried centuries of prayer and thought. Climbing the tower, the city opened below me like a living manuscript — rooftops, spires, and stories stretching in every direction.
AJay S — Google review
Stunning partial panoramic view of the University Church! Be aware that the staircase is very narrow and steep - not recommended for elderly. Make sure you are fit to climb the stairs up and down (same way). The alleyway at the top was narrow, confined and packed. It was a one way path so you had to move if someone was coming in or out. That also meant you won’t be able to stay for long because of the incoming traffic. It was worth visiting once because this was probably the only place in Oxford where you could see a top view of the beautiful Radcliffe Camera.
Yvonne T — Google review
Beautiful church, inside and out. Tower has outstanding views of Oxford and the surrounding countryside. 127 steps, give it a pass if you're more than about 90 kilos.
Paulo R — Google review
In the heart of Anglo-Saxon Oxford, a church was founded on this site on High Street, which became the first university building in 1096. Since then, the university and the church have been inextricably linked, as evidenced by the name: the University Church of St Mary the Virgin. The oldest part of the church is the tower, dating from 1270. In the late 15th and early 16th centuries, the main body of the church was rebuilt in Perpendicular Gothic style. In 1637, the Baroque south porch, a work by Master Mason Nicholas Stone, was added. Be sure to visit this interesting and beautiful church, if only for the panoramic view from the top of the tower.
Koen — Google review
Magnificent church in the centre of Oxford, largely constructed between the 14th to 16th century, with an earlier 13th century tower. The church is one of Oxford's most distinctive landmarks, featuring an ornately decorated spire completed in the 14th century, and an impressive nave built in the perpendicular style. It was used by residents of Oxford and the university, and housed the university's library until 1488. Today, visitors can look around the church free of charge, though a separate charge applies to climb the tower, ascending 127 steps to the top, an effort rewarded with excellent views over Oxford's skyline and surroundings. The latest prices and opening times are on the website.
Andrew T — Google review
Nice cafe at the Church. A bit crowded at noon tine but the food was great. The surrounding view is stunning as shown in the clip in front of the cafe. Recommending outside seating when the weather is nice like this.
Akaraphong D — Google review
Am incredible historic landmark in the middle of Oxford, free to visit. Perfect for a cool rest in summer, silent prayer and reflection. Stunning stained glass windows. There is a small charge if you want to climb the tower. Well worth the cost and short climb to the top for some of the best views of Oxford! On a clear day, you can see for miles! There is a small shop when you enter, where you can also buy Oxford souvenirs and postcards.

Roves Farm in Swindon offers a fun-filled family day out with various activities for all ages. Visitors can enjoy tractor rides, nature walks, and even brush goats at this working farm. The farm features a cafe serving delicious food and a campsite for those looking to extend their stay. Children can explore the vast indoor play barns as well as an outdoor play park suitable for different age groups. Additionally, there is a Pets Corner where animals can be fed and interacted with.
I love Roves for me and my two young kids. Outdoors and under cover of the barns there are always so many animals to see whatever the season, with tons of hands-on opportunities any kid would enjoy. Goats, pigs, sheep, cows, chickens are year round residents plus the babies! So cute. Plus a big outdoor play ground. Indoors there’s loads too for when it’s cold. The baby soft play area is great and the bigger kids soft play is so well padded with slides that keep even my adventurous 5yo entertained . Plus the rabbit warren is a unique adventure for all ages, something really different and the cafe sells good food and drink with the farm shop just off it for something to take home.

We spent time at Roves Farm, at the end of July, for my granddaughter’s first birthday party. We had a fabulous time. Lovely farm, soft play area and cafe. A farm shop that’s a must to visit and an outdoor play area too. Animal petting and a real connection with nature for the kids. It’s set back, private and it feels like it’s in the middle of nowhere. An amazing spot. I had five grandchildren there and they all had the best time. The food was amazing, really good portions and lovely coffee. The entry prices are pleasantly surprising compared to other petting farms and the biggest plus is that the staff are all absolutely lovely. They’re a credit. I’m really looking forward to getting back there soon.

Absolutely love Roves Farm! We go every year around Jan, Feb to see all the wonderful baby animals. My favourite thing to do there is cuddle the baby goats. Every 30 mins you have an activity for the kids like feeding, petting/ meeting various animals. There's a brilliant outdoor play area and an I really indoor one with a full-sized MDF 'rabbit warren' with 3 levels of tunneling maze for the kids to explore. The cafe and farm are equally brilliant! We always come away with great goodies!

We were travelling to a Swindon destination, and wanted somewhere for a coffee, not a chain, as we were a bit early. Excellent cup of coffee, plus the bonus of a farm shop, and you should follow signs for farm shop parking, as the other parking is for the visitors who are attending the children's attractions of which there were many, and I was amazed by the number of things they could do. Have to pay an entrance fee to use the attractions, but particularly the tractor tour, when I was there looked very popular. Coffee shop and restaurant had lots of seating and a variety of food to choose from and an indoor play area at the end. The farm shop was small but perfectly formed and was a bonus as it had some items I've not seen in other similar establishments, and so purchased a couple of items to take home. Sadly, their own home made pies, which were good value and looked very tasty were frozen, and would have defrosted by time we got home, but if passing through the area on way home would definitely stop and get some. Definitely Recommended.

Lovely day out for all. We took our granddaughter to Roves Farm on the 14th August and had a wonderful time. The tractor ride was really good, the driver was very interactive and gave lots of fact about the farm and how it's run throughout the year and how the animals are looked after. All the staff were very pleasant. The facilities were clean and there was more than enough to keep each child entertained no matter the age range. Plenty of areas for picnicking or to eat in their café/restaurant and wasn't overly priced. Highly recommend a visit.
Jeanette G — Google review
Hiya Roves. You, as always are amazing. My 5 year old would be here everyday if she could. One tiny criticism is not you but the people that use your facilities. There were people constantly in the play area wearing shoes and wellies. I counted 8 parents in the space of a few minutes, 1 dad even came down the slide with a coffee. Plesse, please please get on top of this. There will be animal poo on their shoes.

Lots of animals and the soft play actually feels clean which is rare with softplays. Plus big bonus that this place is within a garden centre ☺️ so there are little festive set ups everywhere at the mo. Also best mince pies ever! Sprawling garden centre with additional shops and services. Quite the destination location with a very large well stocked garden centre with everything for the keen or casual gardener. Clothing new and second hand, gift ideas, a seamstress and much much more all under one roof. There is a large restaurant too with excellent quality food. Restaurant prices are quite high for a self service operation which can be very slow at busy periods. Watch your waistline! The sweet temptations are yummy and plentiful!

Liddington Hillfort, located in the North Wessex Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, offers a peaceful and historically rich experience. The iron age/bronze age castle features circular hill mounds and impressive earthworks that serve as a reminder of a bygone era. Visitors can enjoy panoramic views of the countryside and Swindon town from this elevated location. The site is perfect for a leisurely walk, with the possibility of encountering grazing sheep and hearing the song of skylarks.
Nice place, far from the town. Peaceful. Can go for a long walk. At times, there will be sheep grazing here. Good view of swindon town from here. Located at a elevation from the ground level. Has a viewing table at the top

Well worth a visit... Beautiful views all around. Quite an uphill walk from the roadside where parking is available but limited to 3 or 4 cars. Follow the path up and around to the right. The hill fort is fenced all around and only access from the right side field. Go through the gate then follow fence line toward the hill fort then there is a 2nd gate to access the fort. Don't go straight toward the hill fort from the path or around from the left, its all barbed wire fence with no access. Starfish bunker is on the right at the top of the path to the hill. There is also a memorial site behind that of loved ones passed. Really nice area to wander around and take in the countryside. Give it a go!
Martin J — Google review
Hard to get to there's a lot of private land surrounding it and no parking. Look up how to find it via the star fort and it's well worth the trip. Great views from the top over Swindon
Nick S — Google review
It's your typical iron age/bronze age ’castle’ I.e. There's no structure other than the circular hill mounds. Don't let that stop you from visiting though, you great some lovely views and it's only just off the Ridgeway path.
Andrew F — Google review
Excellent walk please bear in mind it can get muddy and there are plenty of hills There are some wonderful views of Swindon and the ridgeway.

Swindon heritage. POIGNANT. What a job they did with the earthworks, can easily be taken for granted but how can you not be amazed by all the hard work of a bygone era - so many lives lived and lost and we’re very lucky to have this as a reminder.

Shaw Forest Park, located about 3km northwest of Swindon's center, is a remarkable transformation from a former landfill into a 40-hectare community woodland. The park features woodlands, meadows, and various habitats that provide homes for diverse wildlife and bird species. It also includes two lakes and offers opportunities for birdwatching and wildlife viewing. Visitors can explore the area through wooded paths and cycle routes leading to Moulden Hill and other parts of Swindon.
Lovely place for a wonder and nice for dogs to have a run around. Free spacious car park, paved paths if you want solid footing, open and wooded areas.
JS — Google review
Nice enough little park. The car park is not maintained at all though, a little challenging to avoid the huge holes in the ground. Seems to be popular with dog walkers, most of which aren't on leads.
Sam A — Google review
If you want bring your pet and need a open space for them to run around, this is the perfect place. It’s open all day long around the clock but late evening is not ideal as i couldn’t find any lamp post. There is a parking space but it can accommodate aprox around 20 cars so if it’s full you can park along the road starting from Johnsons Mazada. One of it’s tail connects to Peatmoor Lagoon lake side (Approx 3.7km one loop)

Hackpen White Horse, a 90ft by 90ft hillside carving, was created in 1838 to celebrate Queen Victoria's Coronation. Situated near the Ridgeway path, it offers stunning panoramic views and a small parking area for about twenty cars. The thirty-minute walk to Barbury Castle is particularly scenic during sunset and under clear skies. Visitors can expect to encounter other walkers, runners, and cyclists in the area.
We had a magical experience here on Friday 20th June, we watch the sun go down over the plains into the Summer Solstices
Pete R — Google review
Really nice place to visit, parking an issue as its teaming with our 'free spirit' friends parked, camping etc everywhere. Roads in are good no issues there. Best view of the white horse is from the road in, stop at one of the sidings to snap a picture. There is a main trail path leading in both directions across the crest of hill, so good for cycling too. Only 4 stars as the masses which have congregated there made me feel uneasy.
Martin J — Google review
One of the chalk horses only really visible by drone. Field it is situated in is not well kept and contained numerous horses which seemed counterintuitive to preserving the chalk horse shape. Was fun to see on the drive up and free parking for around 15 cars
City G — Google review
Beautiful place with scenic views. The drive up the hill reveals such a beautiful landscape. There’s a small parking area here. I’d say on a busy day you can get around 20 cars parked here. The walk from here to Barbury castle takes around 30 minutes, it is lovely especially during clear skies and sunset. You’ll always come around other walkers, runners and cyclists.
L P — Google review
I walked from the fort across to the horse... A lovely walk but it was long.. the horse is easy to find when you get there but really you have to be far away from it to experience it properly
Anna S — Google review
Blowing the cobwebs off this new year (2022) was great at the Hackpen white horse. Limited parking along the Wansdyke path which runs above it - cross the road from the carpark and wander along a bit, heading towards Avebury to see the views, big birds of prey, if you are lucky, wild Pony's and also the long haired shaggy cattle Added a few photos from july 2025 horse looking good, very white and a real horse there too

Magnificent view. If you really like open and green field, you should visit this place. Today weather is really good. Breathtaking scenery for me.

The chalk horse is beautiful and there was plenty of parking. However, there were two actual horses on the grounds that were extremely excitable and one of the horses kicked me in the leg. The brown horse in particular was chasing every person off their property and I was scared.

The Link Centre is a fantastic leisure destination that caters to families and individuals alike, offering a diverse range of activities. From an exhilarating trampoline park perfect for kids and teens to a swimming pool and ice rink, there's something for everyone. While the swimming pool and ice rink were temporarily closed during my visit, the soft play area provides a delightful space for toddlers. The facility also boasts fitness classes, gym access, and ample parking.
Great facility with affordable membership plans. Gym, fitness classes, Swimming, Ice Rink, trampoline park and kids soft park at one place. Enough parking for everyone. The facility has great team of staff who are knowledgeable and polite.

Excellent soft play, my 4 year old daughter loved it. Everything was very clean and tidy throughout, even during a busy session. Every single member of staff were friendly and helpful too. Would definitely recommend!
Ash G — Google review
Sunday public session, may, 12pm, rink was basically getting empty. The people who tell you “you cant do anything with your legs” should have more sense before saying that. Especially when the rink is half empty, you just had a private lesson, and you aren’t actually doing any aggressive or dangerous skating. Let people enjoy themselves, and skating marshals have some sense when you speak. Not all skating marshals are this bad luckily, but she had little sense.
Lisa C — Google review
Been there for ice skating in the past which has always been great. Have also visited the softplay previously - it's okay especially for younger ones. It's just not very big and definitely not for the older kids. This time we visited a bounce session which was great fun.

Went trampolining at Better Link Centre today. Booked 2 girls aged 9 online 24 hours before and cost just over £12 total at 12pm - a 1 hour saver session in the summer holidays. Great choice now that Freedog have changed their unit. And Better's briefing only lasts 5 minutes. Cafe available. Would have been 5 stars but a little disorganised on reception. Will definitely return soon.

Garden
Nestled in the heart of Swindon, The Town Gardens is a hidden gem that offers a serene escape for those seeking a peaceful stroll. With its picturesque bandstand, vibrant rose garden, and meandering woodland paths, this park is perfect for leisurely walks. The flat concrete pathways ensure accessibility for everyone, including wheelchair users. Visitors can enjoy the lush greenery and stunning floral displays while taking advantage of convenient amenities like restrooms located near the rose garden.
From the end of November through to Christmas, the gardens have an illuminated Enchanted Forest trail. I was a bit sceptical at first when my wife suggested we go, but I needn't have been. Whether you're young or old you will enjoy this more than you think. You can buy tickets (for a particular time slot) in advance online and for an adult it's £15. Was it worth £15, absolutely. They have done a great job with the lighting effects. There is food and drink available and the whole atmosphere is, well, enchanting! It's so nice to see something done so well. The pictures don't do it justice.
Paul B — Google review
Lovely park with plenty to see and do while having a relaxing wander. And excellent to find not just a cafe but toilets too, which are often forgotten in park planning these days but are very important for making open spaces accessible to everyone.
Andrew T — Google review
I love the Old Town Gardens itself. Been many times......with my mum as a child, visited with my two sons when they were little, and not so little. Taken walks with a friend, and also on my own. It's a beautiful place and not far to get to. The gardeners do a great job, and the aviary has recently been refurbished. It's just a shame about the cafe! Although the staff were pleasant and friendly, over the years I've seen it go from ceramic plates (and cups and saucers) to polystyrene containers, then polystyrene plates, to a bit of foil wrapping and cheap takeaway cups. The bacon in the bacon roll wasn't great either. Like I said, it's such a shame that standards have dropped, because I would of really wanted to give five stars!

Definitely worth the time to have a walk around these gardens if you are in Swindon and wanting to escape. Rose garden , band stand coffee shop, children area with aviary. Kept clean. Unsure on toilets. The gardens are peaceful and well looked after. One thing SBC spends money on that is worth it...

This park was a huge surprise during our visit to Swindon. I had visited Swindon several times over the last five decades, but this park is a hidden jewel of lushness. Quiet walking paths, huge trees, and beautiful flowers, made even more enjoyable by the discovery of a wonderful little cafe in the park. Serving excellent tea, coffee, and sausage baps, the staff put an extra big smile on our faces. These Texans love The Town Gardens.

Oink Gallery is a fantastic shop that caters to art enthusiasts. It offers a wide selection of exquisite artwork, and the staff is both well-informed and amicable. While it may be costly for some, there are also reasonably priced pieces available. The owner, Mark, is knowledgeable and creates a welcoming atmosphere. Located in Old Town, this art gallery is brimming with outstanding artworks that will surely leave visitors satisfied with their purchases.
This place is a real treat… if you step inside, you’ll soon be telling Toto that you’re not in Kansas anymore! Seriously, you leave Swindon behind and are transported to a place with beautiful things made by beautiful people - a vast array of stunning artwork by brilliant artists… some pretty big names to showcase and others making their mark on the world. Ever heard of that Banksy person? Get yourself to the gallery to see some of their work! As well as the fabulous artwork, you’ll find books, homeware, lighting, greeting cards, sculptures & even jewellery. Mark (the fabulous owner) and his team always greet you with a warm welcome & are willing to help you find that special something that’s just right for you. Saying that, if you just want to have wander and browse all the pretty things, that’s totally cool too! I highly recommend looking at their website to see all the amazing stuff they offer… if you can’t make it to the gallery, you can order online for delivery - they even have a gift registry service! Top tip… make sure you register your email address - you’ll get a sweet little discount on your 1st order, but more importantly, your inbox will receive the low down on all the amazing preview nights they run… they’re an absolute vibe - seeing all the gorgeous new art & meeting the artists, all while sipping cocktails with a DJ spinning funky tunes in the background. Mark has helped us build a fabulous collection, introducing us to amazing artists such as Mason Storm, David Hardy, Magnus Gjoen, Heath Kane, Stanley Donwood, Donk London, Pure Evil, Victoria Topping and many others too. We’re actually running out of wall space… what a lovely problem to have! One other quick tip… you can pop through to the back of a gallery for a coffee & sweet treat at Pour Bois - a proper hidden gem. The brew is always fabulous; I mean seriously good coffee… Corey & Tom who run the show are always super friendly & very happy to see you.

Amazing gallery in Old Town, Swindon with regular exhibits of local, national and international contemporary art. It’s definitely not your traditional gallery, Mark curates his collection to bring some incredible pieces by household names, while also supporting new and upcoming artists. Having had a chance to meet some of the artists Mark has held special events for, I can see how they genuinely appreciate his passion for their creativity.
Laura H — Google review
I recently visited with my young daughter, and from the moment we entered, the owner welcomed us with warmth and friendliness. The gallery was filled with a stunning array of artwork that captivated my daughter’s imagination. What stood out most was how the owner took the time to engage with her, discussing the pieces and encouraging her curiosity. It was heartwarming to see my daughter so excited and at ease, thanks to the owner’s approach. This gallery is a beautiful space, and a welcome step away from the usual hustle of life.
Angharad M — Google review
My friend and I called into Oink Gallery on Friday last and whilst on this occasion we did not make a purchase, Mark was very happy to give us time to discuss his artists work and art in general. He came across as a real genuine guy and good to have an independent gallery in Old Town. Anyone looking for something contemporary and different I would suggest you head to Oink, you can have a coffee there too.

Oink Gallery is a fantastic spot in Swindon Old Town – modern, inspiring artwork with something for every budget. We love the pieces by Andrew J. Miller, Anna Matykiewicz, and recently bought a great work by Mul and Penfold. Mark is always welcoming and friendly, and the exhibition nights with drinks and a DJ make it a really fun experience. Definitely worth a visit!
Dineke A — Google review
Oink is definitely the most unique art gallery I have been to in the South West, with a delightful variety of art and artists, and frequent fun social events! Well worth a visit, if you are in the area 🙌 Oink has set the bar for me P.S. there's parking!
Hugo L — Google review
Some commercial art galleries can feel a bit too intimidating to enter, but this is very much not the case with Oink. The owner has created a space which is welcoming to all and filled with the best in contemporary art at a range of prices. The staff were very approachable and responsive to questions about the work on display. Definitely worth seeking out if visiting Old Town or checking out on-line.
Nicky R — Google review
What a gem of a contemporary art gallery! Each visit reveals a fresh, captivating collection, expertly curated by Mark. His passion for art is truly infectious, and engaging him in conversation about the pieces is always a highlight. I've been tempted to purchase something every time I've stopped by! A particularly memorable experience was when Mark took the time to speak with my step-son, who recently completed his art degree. He offered wonderful, practical advice on getting started in the art world, and we genuinely valued his generosity and genuine interest.

Great views from Bincknoll Castle which is a grass hill fort. I love walking through the woods to the side, full of garlic in the spring. Steep climbing and long trek so you must be fit.

Peaceful and interesting place. Walk across the fields to get there was quite muddy (but we have had a lot of rain recent weeks).

Nice walk from broad town. Quite steep and overgrown in places so not for young children. Sign posting is not great and as others have mentioned, there is no historical info on site. Despite this, I'd still recommend as a good walk, with nice views of the white horse on the way.

Just outside of Royal Wootton Bassett, walking to the Castle from Broadtown is a lovely way to spend a Sunday morning. The path isn't particularly obvious at times and can be a little treacherous for those who aren't so sure on their feet. whilst a there is a sign with some details for the white horse near by, there isn't anything about the history of the Castle unfortunately. Still a lovely vista from the top and well worth checking out. Although I'd recommend going to Barbury, Uffington and Liddington over this Iron Age Castle!

Absolutely love Flashpoint Swindon. Having visited 40 gyms and my partner 80+ Flashpoint is one of our favourites. It's so spacious and airy and there's a fantastic range of bouldering walls. Lots of interesting routes, lovely staff, great food and drink. The soft play and kids area looks really cool too (shame us big kids can't have a go haha!) Great climbing centre. Many varied routes with lots for all abilities. I loved the block you could stand on. There is also a clip and climb and Ninja area. There are changing rooms. The 45° wall was fab! The car park isn't huge but there was enough room when it wasn't too busy. The upstairs seating area was dirty and hadn't been cleaned. Many tables had drinks spilt all over them.
Laura B — Google review
Having tried other bouldering gyms in the area around Newbury, Reading, Oxford and Swindon, Flashpoint stands out as one of the largest in this area and has adequate space for everyone even during busiest times and definitely my favourite They are always hosting a large range of different routes for all styles, including traverse, a overhang "beast" and a top out. Grading seems good and not as overly soft as some commercial gyms.

Not great since the takeover.. staff were rude, seemed clueless unlike the old staff who were helpful and friendly and always interacted with my daughter. Prices have gone up by so much, music is awful compared to the old alternative/indie tunes that were played, the toilets are no longer sparkling clean. The last few times we have been it’s been next to empty which isn’t surprising due to extortionate costs.
Alice D — Google review
Pretty Disappointing since the new take over.. the newer staff seem pretty blunt, rude. At one point we were climbing and a member of staff approached us and asked if we'd paid.. the same memeber of staff that had orginally served us... they didnt really seem to have a clue..unlike the old staff who were outgoing, keen and friendly! the prices have gone up pretty unreasonably, yet for nothing extra is there.. and the new 'chart' music takes away the epic atmosphere the place used to have.. the walls are still good to climb though.. overal, considering we used to go here all the time, i doubt we'd visit as regular.

A spontaneous visit to Butterfly World & Farm Park on the way from the South Coast to Wales proved to be a delightful experience. The butterfly house was charming and the farm was enjoyable. The park is tucked away in a garden center and exceeded expectations. Most of the animals were rescued and seemed well-cared for, adding to the positive experience.
Loved our day out to butterfly world. Was so much bigger than the last visit easily 15 years ago or so. Was lovely to see the zoo animals and feed them as well as being able to handle some of the animals. One of the staff members Ethan or Evan (sorry can't remember his name but definitely was a E name!) was brilliant and so enthusiastic about the animals and made the visit extra special!
Holly F — Google review
We travelled from West London to come here and we were not disappointed. There's so much to see here more than just the butterfly house, which was extraordinary in itself. Reptile room, farm animals, otters, variety of birds just a huge array of things to see for a very reasonable price. Lots of talks and feeds happening throughout the day and staff were friendly, helpful and informative. Free parking too with plenty of space even on a bank holiday. It was a delightful day out and well worth the journey.

Lovely place to visit. Although not a very big place it is big enough for a few hours out and also has things to do inside the garden centre. The butterfly garden host a variety of different species and the colours are amazing. Plus there are a lot of other animal birds 🐦 etc to see

Brilliant afternoon out with the family, this place is HUGE! The butterfly enclosure was my absolute fave, sooo many different butterflies and even ones that had freshly hatched. My granddaughter loved feeding the chickens and baby goats. Listened to a fab talk on the raccoons and their keeper was brilliantly informative, Jerry was so mischievous though haha!

Really enjoyed our visit. Quiet enough to spend as much time as you like looking at each animal. We particularly love the Racoons and Otters. Feeding the goats was also a highlight.

I took my 18 month old here and we had such a lovely afternoon. I enjoyed a wander round the garden centre with such a huge variety of gifts, clothes etc to buy. Then we spent some time in the soft play area which was about £1.50 for 30 mins which I thought was very good value for money. We then went into the farm park and including some food for the animals cost around £11. My little girl loves seeing all of the animals and laughed so much when she fed the goats as they tickled her hand. The staff were very friendly and kind and we had a lovely time. I also enjoyed a lovely gluten sandwich in the cafe and they had some lovely gf cakes on offer which is always a bonus. Would definitely return again.

We stopped here on the way home from a family holiday, mainly to break the trip up a bit for the children. National Trust - The Coombes, Hinton Parva is a picturesque steep-sided dry valley with rich botanical diversity and medieval strip lynchets. It's a great spot for a short countryside walk, offering beautiful views and the chance to see red kites. The area features a free car park behind the village hall, but there are no facilities on site.
Lovely place for a chilled walk with the dogs.

Loverly little quiet place for a walk. Small car park behind the village hall. No facilities on site. There is an easy path along the bottom. If you are more adventurous then there are various walks up and down the rises. Views are great. Beware…. Many dog walkers and they all don’t pick up afterwards.
Michael B — Google review
Has a free carpark behind the village hall, an information board as you go through the gate. We were there 28th July and there were cows, bullocks by the entrance. Very interested in our dog so we went off the path to the right, still a public path, adjacent to the field. No toilets or cafe, unsuitable for the disabled .

Fun short walk in the countryside. I did see the red kites mentioned on the sign. Really nice views from the path. It's a reasonably easy walk from the carpark (it is quite muddy in the carpark so take appropriate footwear); walking the complete length of the path and back again took about 1 hour walking at a slow pace. There was plenty of spaces when we went. There are no toilets here. Worth a stop by if you are in the area.

Love the walk plenty of space for the dogs to run. Can get a bit overgrown but that's certainly no gripe from me. Only observation is the 1 dog bin in the car park.

Beautiful although quite small site. Easy parking, car park not Signposted but follow the satnav up the gravel track!
Claire B — Google review
Nice walk in the countryside. Steep climbing can be involved at one end if you fancy it. No WC facilities. Entrance to walk is behind the village hall.
J P — Google review
A great walk. Walking up and down the downs and bumping into the cattle. Our dog loved it and the kids loved looking out for the wild flowers. Plus the sense of achievement getting to the tops of the downs. We look forward to taking the kids to a summer event they have there.

An ancient Church in Cricklade. Very interesting and historic. I attended Mass here and it is amazing to know how 1000 years ago people were doing the same.

Castle Hill Iron Age Hillfort is a hidden gem that offers a glimpse into the past while providing breathtaking views of the Cotswolds. This well-preserved site, steeped in history, invites visitors to explore its ancient ramparts and enjoy scenic walks along public footpaths. The area is perfect for outdoor activities like hiking and football games, reminiscent of childhood adventures.
Old Kuditch used to play up there when he was a kid. In winter it was where we used are sleigh to zoom down the slopes. Dad would tie the sleighs to the back of his ford pop and drag us up to castle hill. Summer there was football games. Sometimes Dad would lead a hike out from there to Stanton. In those days there were not any farmers around to tell us it was private land. It wouldn’t have done them any good anyway. Dad would have told them to $&@$ off 🤣
Kuditch S — Google review
We parked by the church, walked to the hill fort, down to Enclosures, left to pope's copse then left back to the village. About three and half miles. No toilets or cafe. Fields, tracks and deer. Notices to stay on the footpath with dogs on lead, we didn't see any livestock.
Sue — Google review
A well preserved iron age hill fort, with spectacular views out towards the Cotswolds. Yes, it is on private land, but a public footpath runs right through it, and if you follow this out and up over the ramparts to the north you will be rewarded with the same incredible views that our ancestors saw, over two thousand years ago. That's got to be worth four stars in anyone's book.
Neil P — Google review
Got shouted at for not sticking to the ‘foot path’. The sign is directed to the edge of the field, so I stuck to the edge as I thought that was the right thing to do. The ‘foot path’ runs through the centre of the fort, make sure you stick to it or else!!
Bonny C — Google review
It's on private land..
