Tapas bar
Bar
Spanish restaurant
Bravas is a cozy tapas bar in Redland, offering classic Spanish small plates in an intimate setting. The owners are committed to authenticity, with regular staff trips to Spain inspiring their traditional tapas dishes. The place is usually packed every evening, except on Sundays when it's closed. However, it opens at midday and runs until midnight for the remaining six days of the week.
Brought my parents here, they absolutely loved it! The hake and pulled pork being their favourites. The service was also amazing, our server was so helpful in giving recommendations. The music was a touch loud but other than that it was perfect.
Nicole C — Google review
As a Malaysia myself, I rarely get to find any Spanish food let alone good & authentic Spanish food. But this place really takes the cake! One of the best and most authentic Spanish food you can find around! Love it so much. My family and I had a very pleasant experience here that we love to come back here again whenever we’re coming to the UK again.
Bryan L — Google review
I had high expectations for this place but, having been to other tapas restaurants, I left quite disappointed. Really small portions - we ordered a few bits and pieces with the chorizo being the star of the show. We expected to particularly enjoy that, which we did, but seeing 6 tiny pieces of chorizo come to the table was incredibly underwhelming, nevermind the fact that this was priced at £10.90. Absolute rip off. Patatas bravas were too salty, you literally had to shake the salt off, and the saltiness was just overpowering. The croquettes were brilliant. Drinks were forgotten for a good while, we'd eaten most of our tapas before we managed to get a drink. Service acknowledged this and was quite apologetic which was nice but I wouldn't go back.

prawns were as good as being abroad, really well done. Nice variety on the menu. good wine choice lovely staff and nice atmosphere/outside seating. Went for my birthday lunch and was great
Aston W — Google review
Had food poisoning the day after having dinner at Bravas. Be careful:( croquettes were the only nice dish that we ordered. Tortillas were precut and set aside so it tasted like it was taken out of a fridge. Calamaris are rubbery. Morcon iberico you can’t go wrong in slicing. Red shrimps were not fresh and mushy. We thought the star of the show would be the grilled iberico pork, it came out more rare than medium rare. We kindly asked the staff out of curiosity if that was ok to consume and she rudely side eyed us while complaining to other employees. This is also the most possible cause of my food poisoning that happened the afternoon on next day, with fever and vomiting.
Sabrina C — Google review
We have been here a few times now and our favourite thing is the aubergines and the marinated anchovies. We had a botifarra sausage dish with beans but the beans were not cooked enough. The aubergines with molasses were iconic as always. The tortilla de patatas got mixed reviews (no onions or seasoned enough). The girls loved the two desserts although one of them noticed that the basque cheesecake was a New York cheesecake not a basque one - indeed. The girls also love their drinks. The atmosphere is banging and because it’s a small place it gets very cosy.
Maria S — Google review
After years of hearing how impossible it was to get a table at Bravas, we finally managed to book one, and now I can’t quite fathom why it’s so adored. From the moment we arrived, things felt off. We had to call out our reservation across the room because no one greeted us properly. Eventually, someone waved us over to a table tucked by the kitchen curtain - a spot that reeked of damp and mould. The smell was so persistent it clung to the air, and even after the staff “sprayed something” and lit a candle, it didn’t improve. When we eventually moved to another table - carrying our own water and menus, as no one helped - the service didn’t get better. Our waitress spilled beer on my jacket and handbag, didn’t apologise, and told me to use the napkin from the communal cutlery glass. Even the cutlery was dirty. Throughout the meal, no one checked in on us once. The space itself was far from inviting. The table was visibly dirty, with food remnants lodged in the ridges of the wood, frankly unpleasant. The seating area was cramped, with no proper place to hang jackets (just a broken hook beside me). Every time the front door opened, an icy draft swept through, so we alternated between stifling heat and sudden chills. For a place that trades on atmosphere, it felt more like eating in a corridor. As for the food: half of it was fine, half of it was dreadful. The whitebait and chorizo were decent, but the patatas bravas were a sad imitation - hard sliced potatoes with the dip that tasted like cheap bottled Mexican sauce. The duck croquettes looked good but were completely bland, which takes talent given how flavourful duck usually is. To finish, the bill arrived with a 10% service charge, which I politely asked to be removed and received a few frosty looks for the privilege. Overall, Bravas feels like a victim of its own hype: cramped, careless, and coasting on a reputation it no longer earns. There’s none of the warmth, charm, or authenticity you’d expect from a true Spanish tapas bar - just cold drafts, cold service with attitude from the staff, and the lingering smell of disappointment.

Went today for the first time and had an amazing experience. Staff are so friendly and helpful and willing to recommend food to us. The food is amazing, delicious with high quality. Definitely will go again.

Restaurant
Modern European restaurant
BOX-E is a charming restaurant located in the Cargo development of Wapping Wharf quarter. Housed in renovated shipping containers, the restaurant offers a cozy and intimate dining experience with its simple yet stylish decor. Chef Elliott Lidstone curates an ever-changing menu of modern British cuisine using fresh, seasonal ingredients. The space is small, seating only 14 guests with an option for four at the kitchen counter for a special tasting menu experience.
A lovely evening at Box E! Each dish of the tasting course was well balanced and flavoursome, the local ingredients really sang through! Would definitely recommend for a special occasion. Service was smooth and very friendly. Absolutely divine wine selection also. The only thing I would say, I stated in my email that it was going to be my birthday the night we were dining, and as a restaurant of this standing, I did expect them to do something to acknowledge that, maybe a candle or gesture at the end of the meal. But regardless it was still a wonderful night!
Katy K — Google review
We had a fantastic dinner at Box-E. The food choices were all delicious and they had lovely veggie options for me. The service was perfect, so warm and friendly and happy to answer any questions. Loved it. Would highly recommend
Natalie W — Google review
Taking my mum to Box-E for her leaving meal. It is incredible food and the service was so amazing! Worth for every single penny that I spend. Also, my mum is very picky but she said that this is the best food in the UK that she has ever had before!!! Definitely come back again xx

Food was excellent. Service was great. We sat outside and the ambience was lovely. We thoroughly enjoyed 5/7 of the 7 course menu. Favourite dish was the scallop with corn. Simple but cooked to perfection! Goat cheese was just not our thing but that is a personal preference. We had an amazing time and will be back! There are many Michelin/Michelin guide restaurants in Bristol, but this is the best so far!
Rui C — Google review
A wonderful "hidden" tasting menu; nicely paced over about 2 hours; a really interesting wine pairing - I might not have agreed with all of choices, but the wines were very nice. One star downgrade for the place: a small, upstairs container. But that's a truly minor gripe for what was a really nice meal. Super friendly staff.
John W — Google review
Had a wonderful Saturday lunch. Tasting menu was delicious and good value for the care and quality. Very accommodating for our kids. Recommended stop if you’re in the area 😁. Highlights for us were: the scallop soup; trout; hake; and ALL the desserts!
Masshu M — Google review
Very cute date night place. Quite vibey. Outdoor seating was kept nice and warm. The food was quite yummy. I loved the panna cotta and the grapefruit tingler cocktail. My critiques were that the butter that came with the bread could have been more salty, the onglet was a little tough, and the tomatoes could have been more flavourful. However, overall it was a good experience.
Natashia S — Google review
For the price the food was absolute quality; went for the tasting menu with wine flight which was a lovely experience; great hearing the stories of the growers and the pairing was superb. Only slight negative was we chose to eat on the veranda which was fine but the evening was a bit chilly and even with the blankets and heaters was still a bit cold later on. Would go back when back in Bristol though.

Restaurant
Root is a well-priced restaurant located in the heart of Bristol, near Wapping Wharf. The menu focuses on vegetables and features dishes that highlight the natural flavors of locally sourced produce. While the emphasis is on vegetarian and vegan options, there are also occasional meat and fish dishes available. The restaurant offers a fusion of inventive flavors, showcasing the brilliance of plant-based cuisine alongside unconventional combinations.
Very popular place. Nice menu with variety to choose from. The fish was cooked to perfection. Love the shiitake mushroom skewer with amazing flavours and pickled onions. Only wish the portion could be more generous instead of just one skewer. We ordered the non-alcoholic cocktails and they’re very good. Crispy mussels with aioli was also flavoursome.
Angie “ — Google review
Interesting flavours! Definitely worth a try to explore vegetarian dishes with hints of familiar tastes. The house bread is a 10/10, airy and chewy bread with a crispy salty crust. The kohlrabi dish was delightfully fresh and my favourite would be the grilled leek dish, though I was not the biggest fan of the smoky flavour since it tasted quite strong. The pork chops could be a little more tender, but it paired wonderfully with the refreshing tomatoes on the plate. We ordered a pavlova to share for dessert and it was a lovely light and sweet treat to end the meal.
Gita K — Google review
So so good! I love that the vegetarian/vegan options are more plentiful than the meat & fish! The food was absolutely delicious and the location+atmosphere was just perfect for a sunny evening in Bristol. Will hopefully be back again 💜

Absolutely incredible from start to finish. I can’t stop telling everyone about how amazing this place is! Insane food and everyone working there was so lovely. It made my birthday extra special, especially as the staff surprised me with candles and limoncello! Gorgeous vibes. Will return asap!

What an evening. The staff firstly were incredible, the cocktails and drinks list were perfect and the food was out of this world. So happy I've found this place so I can come back again and again!

What an amazing place! Their rosemary bread is addictive and the smoked beetroot was possibly the best veggie dish I have ever eaten. Everything was prepared with care and great attention. Great spot if around or visiting Bristol.

Great friendly service and the plates were fresh and delicious. Good seasonal veg and lovely cocktails. Highly recommend!

We really love this place. This is our second time visiting (for my partners 40th birthday celebrations) and although we preferred the dishes from our first visit overall, we still didn’t leave disappointed. The staff are so welcoming and friendly and it’s such a pleasant change to be spoilt for choice on the veggie options. Love what this place is doing and hope it never leaves!!!

Bistro
Fine dining restaurant
Wilson's Restaurant is a cozy bistro with a minimalist weekly changing menu and an array of organic and biodynamic wines. The unassuming decor belies the culinary wonders that await at this small restaurant, where the focus is on British cuisine. With rickety tables, an open kitchen, and a daily blackboard menu, Wilson's exudes English bistro charm. The establishment prides itself on sustainability and showcases highly seasonal cooking with ingredients sourced from their own smallholding.
Absolutely outstanding. The food was honestly absolutely breathtaking. The staff are all absolutely lovely, attentive and so incredibly knowledgable, telling us the story of the food and wine. Honestly it is the best place in Bristol. Cant wait to go back. Congrats Jan on your first star. Absolutely so well deserved.
Rosie L — Google review
Such a wonderful, friendly welcome. The team were amazing, as was the menu. Wilson's is quite a cozy space, but this didn't detract from our enjoyment. A lovely selection of thoughtfully selected wines accompanied the dishes perfectly. Thank you for a perfect evening, we'll definitely be back soon!
David D — Google review
Second visit to Wilson’s and it continues to exceed all expectations. Having dined at numerous Michelin star restaurants, this stands out as one of the best I’ve encountered. From the food to service, and overall vibes Wilson’s hits the mark! This time, I brought colleagues and they’re all raving about the experience. Not the cheapest option, but absolutely worth every penny. 10/10, would and have traveled to Bristol just for this meal. 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
Claire G — Google review
Honestly very surprised I haven't reviewed this place before now! Wilson's is our favourite Bristol restaurant and its recent Michelin star has been a long time coming. The fixed single price tasting menu is always different and in the times we have been there I have never had the same dish twice. The photos are from last night's visit which was one of the most enjoyable menus I have eaten anywhere, even the "bread and butter" wasn't with chicken liver parfait, sardines in a nori tart added for good measure. I did not have the crab because, alas, crab hates me. What I did have was a bean stew with a mushroom foam and a cured egg-yolk which was rather funny as my wife and I had just been joking about the lack of a "difficult egg" course. This hit all the right notes, I could eat a bucket of it. Monkfish was perfectly cooked (as you would expect) with some fantastic accompanying flavours which I will be attempting to replicate as soon as I aquire some. The Pheasant was a revelation, I have eaten it before but not done this well, and the "Kentucky Fried Pheasant" thighs on skewers that came with it provided texture without needing crunchy carbs. As a side note, they should be selling bags of that stuff as a takeaway. Desserts were, as they always are, bonkers. Somewhere there is an evil genius concocting flavour combinations that really shouldn't work but somehow do. Celeriac ice cream? I have had roast potato ice cream in this place before. All in all, a great night out although marred slightly by two things. 1) it needed just a little bit more light for a dark Halloween evening. 2) the chairs are very light, so when I stood up after enjoying the excellent wine pairings, my seat decided to accept the invitation to lie down. Sorry about that guys. All in all, an establishment you really need to visit if you have the opportunity. Book though, it's getting busy and long may it continue to do so!
Matt K — Google review
This was the best meal me and my partner have had. Incredibly well thought through menue. We got the wine pairing which was well worth it. We had multiple team members looking after us and every single one was friendly and knowledgable. Everyone should go here and tell all their friends and family to do the same!
Danny H — Google review
An absolute gem - this small (newly!) Michelin-starred restaurant completely blew me and my partner away. The £35 lunch menu (3 courses plus sides and nibbles!) is, without exaggeration, some of the best value I've ever experienced for food of this calibre. Every dish was perfectly executed, with an exceptional balance of flavours, originality, and finesse. The ingredients were clearly of outstanding quality: fresh, seasonal (straight from the local farms), and treated with the utmost respect. Presentation was beautiful but never pretentious. Three highlights among many: the homemade smoky iced tea with lavender - so refreshing, try it; the bread course served with canapés and a luxurious roe cream - simple in concept but incredibly elegant; and a stunning strawberry dessert that managed to be both playful and refined, with layers of flavour and texture (that kind of airy jelly wow!) that lingered long after the last bite. The service was warm, professional, and perfectly paced without ever being intrusive. I think this place is a true hidden treasure - refined yet approachable and affordable, generous in both spirit and substance. I can’t recommend it highly enough.

We did their dinner tasting menu with wine paring and it was amazing! Every single wine was great, and they really paired well with dishes! We also enjoyed their lemon cello drink ❤️ Defo gonna revisit!

Steak house
The Ox is a stylish steak restaurant and cocktail bar located in a basement bank vault beneath the Commercial Rooms in Bristol. It exudes understated opulence and offers an impressive wine list along with a variety of steak options to suit different tastes and budgets. The menu features prime cuts of steak cooked on their famous Josper oven, as well as small plates, desserts, and Sunday roasts.
From the moment we stepped in we had a lovely welcome from the staff. Service was very quick and the food was brilliant. Particular shout out to the sprouts - they were unreal! There was a great selection of wines available too. The decor was lovely and matched the general atmosphere.

One of the best steak restaurants i have been too. Service was impeccable, atmosphere was unmatched, so ambient and classy. Staff were so friendly and accommodating. Wine list was just perfect, i recommend the Ox mother cocktail! i would love to see a chimicurri on the menu as a steak sauce!
Madeline B — Google review
One of the best peppercorn sauce I have ever had in Bristol. Amazing salad selections, which for someone who has to have a veggie plate per meal, it is much appreciated. The staff was amazing, went above and beyond. The steak was obviously amazing and all the other reviews have covered it extensively, so I will talk about the side dishes. The scallops were a star for sure, must have. The chips were cooked to perfection, and the house Ceasar was not at all too creamy, but just right.
Tuan T — Google review
It’s a special place where you can experiment to be going back many years ago. Like the tunnel of time to the 50’s It took us a while to find it as we didn’t realised that it’s located downstairs. The waitresses are well trained and pleasant. The food wonderful, excellent quality 😃 The meat is very tasty and cooked to perfection. Great variety of drinks to match the meals and deserts. A bit noisy and dark, part of the atmosphere. There is at least one private room for some private dinning with a group. If you love meat it’s a place to go 😀

The Ox is such a lovely setting, the rooms are beautiful and its got a great atmosphere. We went for sunday roast and thought it was incredible. As were the starters, pork ribs, bone marrow and scallops. 100% would go back again and try the steak or return for a roast. Definitely recommend for Bristol.

Best steak restaurant in Bristol: perfect burger, medium rare-steak, crispy chips and the roast bone marrow with bread was SO good. Cozy restaurant that looks kinda fancy but with affordable and delicious options :)

Visited here for a Sunday roast after seeing some online attention, booked a 4pm table due to work commitments but was not disappointed. Ordered - scallops for starters and beef roast for main with side of mac and cheese. Scallops - very well plated, looked stunning and showed off scallop in all its glory. Super soft scallop, almost buttery and melts in your mouth texture, really fresh and quality produce, it was accompanied by a few little additions which brought the dish together but did not overpower or shadow the scallops at all. Great starter! Roasts - both plates came out looking identical which I like that eye for presentation certainly shows here at the Ox! A good healthy sized plate, overall lots individual flavours here every element on the plate has been thought about and looked after, really enjoyed the greens and braised red cabbage that’s how veg should be done! Really completes a dish when veg is thought about and flavoured. Roast beef was cooked to perfection, succulent, juicy still rare but packing flavour and rested well. Solid roast potatoes too, my only gripe with those is there was only 3 :( Overall a solid roast dinner and delivers what they claim that’s for sure. Mac and cheese side - cheesey, creamy crispy top it’s everything you want from a Mac and cheese no complaints it’s a nice side dish for making the roast naughty too! Side note; gravy was nice deep flavourful with a red wine flavour present. Brings the roast together nicely! Only thing dint enjoy so much was the Yorkshire pudding, not sure if it was made in house or bought in but lacked flavour or crispiness. My only downside to the visit was the temperature to the roast, it was warm when served which realistically went cold pretty fast, the gravy was lukewarm and nothing on the roast at all was piping hot. Became a race to finish it faster than it got cold. Which is a huge shame. Overall will rate it a 8/10 based on the flavours and vibes, would be higher if a few things just a lot hotter on the plate. Would like to return.

Bulrush is a renowned restaurant located in the Cotham neighborhood of Bristol, known for its innovative and seasonal Modern British cuisine. Chef George Livesey, who has earned a Michelin Star, showcases his natural talent in the kitchen by incorporating subtle Japanese influences into organic and foraged seasonal ingredients. The menu features dishes that demonstrate imagination, balance, and clean flavors with a focus on preserving and pickling.
A very beautiful experience, the food was unique and delicious. The mix between different textures was absolutely amazing, and the service was equally amazing.

Title: A Truly Unforgettable Experience – Bulrush UK is World-Class As an American visiting from Cincinnati, Ohio, I had the absolute pleasure of dining at Bulrush UK in Bristol with my girlfriend, who’s a local. We were both experiencing it for the first time and opted for the full tasting menu with wine pairings—and it turned out to be the best meal of my life. From the very first bites, we were drawn in. Each dish was thoughtful, creative, and beautifully presented. The early bites were a perfect introduction, packed with flavor and originality. Two standouts for us were the Wagyu beef, which my girlfriend especially loved, and the Ratafia Champagne, which absolutely blew me away. Just to clarify—it wasn’t paired with the Wagyu, but was served earlier in the menu, and it left a strong impression. I’d never had Ratafia before, and now I’ll be chasing that flavor forever. This was also my first time experiencing Ozark-inspired cuisine, and it was eye-opening. The flavors were deeply rooted yet completely fresh. A particularly memorable moment was the cheese ice cream—unexpected, a bit playful, and absolutely delicious. It captured the spirit of the whole experience: bold, inventive, and expertly executed. The service was exceptional—warm, passionate, and deeply knowledgeable without a hint of pretension. You could feel the care and creativity behind every dish and pairing. Bulrush is now my number one restaurant—not just in the UK, but anywhere I’ve eaten. If you’re anywhere near Bristol, do not miss this culinary experience. This review was written a year after I ate there and it is the only place I have ever felt so compelled to write a review. Thank you to all the staff for such a memorable night . I hope to one day return to Bristol and see what new cuisine you have to offer

Fabulous food. Some excellent taste combinations. The little pallete cleanser, scallop dish and quail were delicious. I did thnk the background music was too loud. I won't forget the meal. It's always good to serve some bread with the main.

We did their tasting menu with wine pairing. Wine was hit or miss but mostly good. Some dishes were fantastic (lamb belly and carrot donut was my favorite and pigeon was my partner’s favorite) some were not. In general it was very enjoyable! Service was not the top quality though. They forgot about our sparkling water order we made until we reminded them of it until after two courses, dropped my wine glass to the floor while we were dining, and did not remember me and my partner’s different orders for cheese and mince pie which was an additional course we ordered.

So good. A relatively relaxed atmosphere for fine dining, especially when the food is at such an exceptional quality. Creative cooking and flavours. When we arrived, we were told the monkfish on the menu wouldn't be served because the chef wasn't happy with the quality, so the menu ended up being discounted, but was still plenty of food. If anything, it gives a lot of confidence when the chef would rather withdraw a dish than serve something they feel is substandard. Certainly that attention to detail and high quality ingredients shone through throughout.

Fabulous tasting experience with amazing flavours and combinations Not usually a dessert person but both of them on the tasting menu were amazing A wonderful gem

We’ve been here twice now and it’s always an amazing experience. The first time, we had a 7-course dinner with an extra dish, paired with different wines for each course. The food was incredible and the wine pairings made it even better. The staff were so friendly and explained every dish to us, which added to the experience. The second time, we came for lunch, and they didn’t disappoint, every dish was absolutely delicious. It’s definitely more of a special occasion place because of the price, but it’s worth it. We’ll definitely be coming back again!

Ate a vegan tasting menu here and was absolutely blown away. Can’t recommend places highly enough that go the extra mile to accommodate people’s food requirements. The waiters talked us through everything as the table had mixed meals, which was a nice touch. The fact they are able to cater to a vegan diet with a custom menu was incredible, just have to let them know in advance of your booking. The food itself was incredible. The flavours packed into these dishes and the presentation were next level. Everything was done so well. A quality fine-dining vegan meal!

Marmo Restaurant & Wine Bar is a stylish and popular dining spot in the heart of Bristol. Opened in August 2019 by the husband and wife team Cosmo and Lily Sterck, it has quickly gained attention for its changing menu featuring meat and fish dishes, as well as an extensive wine list. The restaurant has received glowing reviews from national critics, making it one of the city's most talked-about venues with a loyal local following.
Delicious food and excellent service! Been meaning to come here for the longest time! Seasonal dishes (both desserts had seasonal fruit - blood orange and rhubarb) quality of cooking exceptional - skate cooked to perfection. We also had a few other sharing plates. Good portion sizes. Dog friendly and provided water for us :) Would return and recommend!

A good experience tonight - I misjudged the crab dish, expecting more crab, and the team were courteous when taking it away. I would say this dish needs more crab in the ratio , it has potential Certainly a good dining experience - it’s intimate, and the tartare is seriously one of the best I’ve ever had! Plus a great curation of wines. Good service, good food, good wine… would come again! Thanks to the Michelin Guide for recommending P.S, Arianna was great!

I enjoyed a meal alone while working away in Bristol. It’s clear to see why they have such wonderful reviews; when they serve incredible quality ingredients prepared expertly to create a delicious dish. The menu is concise and seasonal, featuring a selection of small plates and not so small plates. The wine list is comprehensive and very reasonably priced. Service is extremely friendly - I can’t wait to come back again!

In the heart of Bristol’s grey streets, this Italian gem shines bright. The service is warm and welcoming, making you feel instantly at home. The food? Simply outstanding — fresh, authentic, and full of soul. We thank the Michelin guide for this must-go restaurants. A must-visit escape from the ordinary.

What a lovely little restaurant. We had a delicious skin contact wine, trout, fresh local lettuces, and cod, followed by strawberries and ice cream. Chef was happy to adjust for pescatarian requests (no nduja)

At best the experience was "fine". The staff were nice and the restaurant seemed clean and well organised, however, the food was a big let down. If the dishes were all outstanding the price and long wait times between courses could be justified, however, every dish was very salty (cheap stock cube salty not fresh oyster salty) and was pretty basic for the amount of prep and cook time that was put into it. Overall, I've had worse, but you could get a much nicer meal quicker and cheaper a few doors down at Cotto.

This beautiful restaurant is located in Bristol city centre. Inside, it's light and airy, with high ceilings, funky wall art, and appropriate spacing between tables. The menu is small, but all the things we tried were delicious. All the dishes were excellently presented, and were light but satisfying. Even after 3 course, you don't leave this restaurant feeling uncomfortably full, just satisfied. Desserts are probably the weakest part of the menu, so best to head somewhere else for that if you've got a very sweet tooth. The wine selection is also good, with a nice mix of varieties and prices. The staff are friendly, and service is prompt. This is a great place for lunch/dinner with friends.
B B — Google review
The food and drinks were nice enough, but you can have a much higher quality dinner out in Bristol for the same price. We showed up on time for our booking, and ended up having to wait 20 minutes before our table was ready. This just isn't acceptable when you're paying £100 a head. There were huge gaps between dishes - we ordered two starters and two mains, yes we planned to share but each dish arrived individually with 20-30 minutes between each plate. I couldn't help think this was an effort to get more drinks out of us, over and above the bottle of wine plus cocktails we were obliged to order while we waited for our table to become free. Price point ended up being similar to some of the higher end tasting menus in Bristol, without the quality and flair. Nice evening but won't rush back.

Lido is a Victorian building in Bristol that houses an exclusive open-air pool and a glass-fronted poolside restaurant. The city also has its own currency called Bristol Pounds, which can be used to support local businesses. St Andrews, one of the city's beautiful parks, features a playground for children and a free paddling pool for families to enjoy during the summer.
Booked an afternoon swim session here and had a fantastic time. Swimming pool and plenty of room to swim, really nice chilled vibe too. I loved the sauna and steam room followed by the cold water bucket, certainly felt refreshing. Hot tub was really busy but I managed to squeeze in for five minutes. Towel hire is worth it for £3 because you can get a fresh towel as many times as you want, very useful. Shower rooms were clean and had lovely shower gel and shampoo. Will definitely be back for one of the food and swim packages, especially when the weather gets warmer.

Originally saw this place featured on a tv show years ago & always wanted to go but never got the chance. This weekend I got to go twice & it didn’t disappoint. This place has such a cool vibe! Food was excellent, fresh & delicious. Service was efficient, easy going & very friendly. Can’t wait to go back! This place gets a five star review from me!

I have wanted to visit here for soooo long! Finally got the perfect excuse and brought my best friend for her birthday. We were greeted at reception and given a quick tour of the facilities. We were given a robe and a towel each and we changed into these before going up to the massage waiting room. We were collected by our massage therapists and taken into our own private rooms for the massage. The treatment was lovely and the hour passed by way too quickly! We then were taken to a relaxation are and made a cup of tea which was lovely after the massage. I would like to offer a pro tip at this point, there was an autumnal nip in the air and we hadn't remembered to take flipflops but the floor was super chilly on the toes! If you feel the cold like I do, remember your sandals or flipflops! After we had booked time to use the pool and facilities. We had the best time popping between the sauna, pool, hot tub, and steam room. It was never too busy in any of the areas and they were all clean. We were incredibly fortunate with the weather and it literally felt like we had gone on holiday for the day! We hadn't booked in for lunch but the smells coming from the kitchen were making us both hungry so we asked if they took walk ins at the spa reception and the lady said yes. We popped through a little door and were in the restaurant and were seated at a lovely table in 10 mins. Our waitress was lovely and we ordered some of the small plates and some lovely refreshing drinks. The food came out relatively quickly considering how busy it was (it was peak lunch time 1.30pm) and was well presented and oh so delicious! I don't often eat out so to me the food was amazing! The tapas style food we picked was so flavourful and the perfect amount for sharing. We were recommended a delicious pudding and enjoyed every mouthful! My friend and I have been on a few different spa days together around Bristol and this by far took the number 1 spot! Thank you to all who made our treat day so wonderful! We will be back!

A great light lunch. I was looked after due to my intolerances and was offered items on the menu that worked for me. Had a doughy flatbread (amazing), a Zaalouk (I’m hooked) and lamb skewers with harissa (divine though tiny and expensive ) ! I loved the food. The service was slow and maybe a bit on the blazé side - a bit distant and relatively unfriendly therefore. Would go back though as I have been there many a times and like the pool and the food !

We booked the swim and breakfast package as we were spending a week in Bristol and seemed a nice thing to do . I must say we were blown away by the whole experience more queens club than David Lloyd’s and with bells on . This lido was refurbished and reopened to the public in 2007 . Architecturally beautiful and lovingly restored with incredible attention to detail from the pool side cubicle changing curtains to the tasteful period furniture in the upper floors . The members and staff , friendly and charming shared their special place with us and we very much appreciated . Pool , steam , sauna and jacuzzi left us refreshed and ready for breakfast. Changing rooms and shower areas were super clean and tidy . Then to breakfast well !!! This was another level and unexpected , ibérico chop with Catalan beans duck egg , morcilla and membrillo was a Hispanic combination I would have only expected to find in heaven , congratulations to the genius who pulled that baby to the pass at menu development . As in many cases sadly wonderful food not matched by service , would you like some toast with that or anything else we can get you would have been nice and a simple upsell , regardless come to expect these things and move on albeit annoying. Having said that the food quality setting and environment made for one of the most memorable breakfast. Thank you .

Lovely light and airy spot for breakfast with a beautiful view of the pool. The food was delicious (we tried the bacon chop breakfast and Turkish eggs) and the chai lattes were spot on. A memorable experience, though at £86 for four it’s more of a treat than a regular option.

The food at Lido Bristol is absolutely excellent - fresh, full of flavour, and beautifully presented. The atmosphere is truly unique; it feels like stepping into a different world. The combination of great food, warm service, and the calming poolside setting makes you forget you’re even in the city. An amazing experience from start to finish.

Amazing atmosphere, love the playlist 🎶 food was so good I forgot to take pictures of everything 🙈 my favourite was the desert, we had the whiskey cake, with the vanilla ice cream! Best I’ve eaten in a very long time 🥰 I love that everything is local and organic, beautiful, generous and necessary concept! The food tastes authentic, can’t recommend more! And try the Portuguese Douro wine 😉

Excellent selection of tapas with plenty of vegetarian options. It's a bit on the expensive side though, especially if you're hungry. We fully enjoyed our visit as the service was also good and welcoming. I would recommend this place to a friend!

I brought two friends to Pocos for dinner a few evenings ago, and we had an absolutely fantastic dining experience. We had high praise for all the dishes! The staff took the time to patiently explain each dish, which made the experience feel even more personal and enjoyable. A truly wonderful dinner!

Wow this place blew us away. We came from London and wondered why we couldn’t find such good food there. Lovely seasonal British ingredients. The polenta + homemade pesto was delicious with a unique flavour. Very surprised by the presentation of the smoked pigeon salad - so refreshing. The homemade shrubs was brilliant. Why couldn’t more place do this!

It is very nice here. The service is excellent, kind and knowledgeable. The menu itself is a little confusing, It would've been good to know what of the sharing menu was cold plates as it was quite surprising to have very cold ox tongue! The food itself was very good. Especially the hake. I give it 4 stars for the service but don't think I'd return, considering other options in Bristol at this price point.

Holy smokes…this place is good! My partner and I have come up to Bristol for a weekend away, and didn’t plan our food stops in advance like we do usually as it was clear Bristol isn’t short of good places. We fancied tapas, and we got fancy tapas. The flavours were spot on. Simple dishes made beautifully, presented well and served with a smile. Quick, efficient service but not made to feel rushed. If I had a single moan it would be that I wanted more on the plate. But I am greedy. I would easily come back here if I visit Bristol again.

incredible food and service. couldn't fault our evening 😊 i had the vegetarian taster menu and all options were delicious and I felt they put as much effort into the veggie options as they did the meat options which is always nice

My second visit here, exquisite food, service and wine pairings. The reason I'm giving one less star is that the last time I visited there were three items in the 'snacks to start' (absolutely delicious) and this time only one item which was really disappointing to be honest. They also now charge extra £10 for the 'cheese' element of the tasting menu which was included last time.
Jay M — Google review
One the best dining experiences I had on this side of the Atlantic, including two Michelin stars restaurants. I really enjoyed the friendly informal but attentive service. The food is excellent, and creative without being challenging. My favourite was the daily cheese with brioche and jam. The Chalk stream trout shiso and scallop kohlrabi turnip hazelnut were also memorable. The pork belly course was superb. Highly recommended.

Visiting Bristol for a conference and decided to have at least one nice dinner. The Internetizens do not lie: this place is fantastic. The food was creative, sumptuous, playful, and well-executed. Services was attentive and friendly. It’s so Bristol: high end, Michelin-star worthy food but with a relaxed atmosphere. As far as tasting menus go, there is enough food to satisfy but not too much you feel ill afterward. Lots of veggie options and alcohol free and low alcohol drink choices in addition to a well-curated wine list.

We had a wonderful meal last night to celebrate my other half's birthday. The tasting menu was an incredible feast of flavours and textures, and the wine flight was lovely. The team knew each course inside out and were very friendly and engaging. This was our first visit, and I feel sure we'll be back again soon. A heartily recommended gourmet experience.

Bokman is a small Korean restaurant located in the lively Stokes Croft neighborhood of Bristol. Run by the husband-and-wife team Duncan Robertson and Kyu Jeon, who have experience from Michelin-starred restaurants, this eatery offers a unique and intimate dining experience. The menu features handmade dumplings, including vegan options, as well as grilled chicken dishes.
First time and happy to say that wasn't disappointed! Waiter was very attentive and had lots of patience for when I needed to decide. Food was lovely, everything was lovely! Deffo need to come back. Oh and the matcha dessert was heavenly🙏🏽🥰

Bokman is such a gem! I came in for their £15 lunch deal and was blown away by the quality and value. You get a choice of mains (I went for the kimchi fried rice with roast pork and fried egg) plus either their soft-serve ice cream or a drink – and everything was delicious. The food is full of bold Korean flavours, the portions are generous, and the atmosphere is warm and buzzing without being overwhelming. It has simple basic casual cafe style seating. Easily one of the best lunch deals in Bristol and a place I’ll keep coming back to.

Superb food and really nice staff. We had the stuffed chilli starter, then the tongdak chicken. Both were delicious. However, the space itself, and therefore the ability of the two lovely members of staff to do their job, is quite limited, and the night we visited, very, very warm. Also, we were initially seated downstairs. My sister is impaired in her right ear, and literally couldn’t hear a thing due to the confined space and noise, but our lovely server was able to find us a seat upstairs. Such a shame, as the food and staff are both excellent.

1st time trying Korean food so didn’t know what to expect and booked a table after reading an article in timeout. The location is perfect and simple as you can see the chefs prepping the food from were we were sitting. Service was great and very helpful. Would definitely recommend the Tongdak woodfirw chicken ( sometime you have to pre order) very popular we probably oredeed to muck food as we had 2 staters 2 mains and sides to shade for 2 and it was plenty would definitely revisit and recommend.

Everything we had was delicious, served by a warm, unpretentious team. The roast chicken, the pickles, the tofu, the salad, all were amazing. The desserts were not bad but disappointing by comparison to everything else. We were sat in the basement but it did not feel too claustrophobic. I question the safety of the basement seating (eg lack of fire escape as access is past the open kitchen) but worth it for the food! Next time, I would request a table upstairs.
Joo T — Google review
Had amazing spicy tofu and roasted chicken. Quite a tight space, but nice ambiance. Would not recommend ordering the kimchi. It was delicious, but £2.75 for 3 tiny bites was absolute robbery. I would order kimchi again if it came in a decent sized bowl or was refilled when finished, as is the style in most Korean restaurants.

Riverstation is located in a wonderful little spot on the harbourside, which made for a beautiful view on a sunny afternoon. The staff were incredibly friendly, especially our server Leo. He was very helpful with our order and made us feel welcome as soon as we sat down. The food was fantastic, flavourful meat and vegetables for a perfect Sunday roast. Had a truly lovely experience at Riverstation. The atmosphere on the riverside terrace, especially in the sunshine, is absolutely charming — a perfect spot to relax and take in the view. The food was beautifully prepared and full of flavour, with thoughtful presentation and a well-balanced menu. What stood out just as much was the service: attentive, polite, and genuinely welcoming. The Riverstation is a lovely little venue situated right along the harbour at the heart of Bristol. The moment I stepped foot in this place, the atmosphere hit me. It felt so warm, cozy, and rustic but in a welcoming way. The European man behind the bar was incredibly friendly, and his service was top-notch. Would you like to know what else was top-notch? The coffee. Exactly what I was looking for. A lovely, smooth brew that felt like a warm hug in a mug. I sat in the outdoor area right next to the water. You feel almost like you're floating above it! As I sipped my delicious brew, I felt a moment of calm as I watched the waves subtly ebb and flow. It was beautiful. Absolutely delightful. I know where I'm grabbing my first Joe next time I'm in Bristol!

We had a wonderful family celebration at The Riverstation last Saturday evening. 13 of us aged between 18 months and 81 years old! The food was outstanding, the wines delicious, the mocktails thoroughly enjoyed by the younger members and the service was friendly, very helpful and professional. The evening exceeded our already high expectations and we shall enjoy our memories for a long time to come. Thank you all at The Riverstation for such a wonderful experience! Christopher.

The new brunch menu is absolutely incredible, a huge step up from the old one. The dishes now feel thoughtful, elevated and genuinely exciting. We had the duck-fat rösti topped with crispy duck and radicchio, and the smoked hummus focaccia…both were beautifully presented and full of flavour. The rest of our party went for the butter beans, which they also really enjoyed. As a small piece of feedback, it could still be worth offering a more traditional fry-up or English breakfast option. Some in our group found the menu a little too deconstructed so defaulted to what seemed the most straightforward dish. That said, we’d heavily recommend you try them for brunch, we’ll definitely be back! Great coffee and boat parking too!

Nestled in suburban Westbury Park, Littlefrench is a charming, family-owned restaurant that has garnered praise from critics for its seasonal French-inspired menu and inviting courtyard seating. The ambiance seamlessly blends Parisian elegance with the rustic charm of the Dordogne region. Guests are welcomed by a metro-tiled shopfront leading to an ivy-adorned dining room adorned with wine bottles, creating a warm and convivial atmosphere.
I've been trying to get back to littlefrench for sometime, so a business trip to Bristol gave the ideal excuse to stay on and visit for lunch. The name provides a big clue as to the style of the menu and in practice it doesn't disappoint. We started by sharing some crispy pigs ears, before moving on to radish with cod's roe (simple and tasty) and scallops (beautifully cooked with a delicious sauce). For mains my partner had the lobster, which she says was pure bliss, whilst I had a fantastic flame grilled fillet, Dessert was cherry and almond tart to die for. There's an excellent range of interesting and reasonably priced wines by the glass and an extensive list if you are buying by the bottle. I'm going to need to find another reason to visit Bristol in the near future.

A fantastic dining experience tonight. Everything that we ate was absolutely delicious; the aligot was a star due to my love of garlic and cheese! Fantastic independent restaurant in Westbury Park. Came for the aligot (IYKYK) & was not disappointed! As a group of 5, every single dish was delicious. Rich in butter (it is French!), moreish & balanced flavours. Service was fantastic, our waitress even spotted us outside & came out to take our photo. The atmosphere, even on a Wednesday night, was great, the place was full with a lovely buzz. Will be back!

Had a lovely birthday dinner at Littlefrench. Staff were so attentive and friendly. The scallops were delicious and buttery and almost sweet. The ceps came in a creamy garlic sauce, the sweet brioche paired so well with the savoury sauce. The lamb was perfectly tender and the sauce soubise was phenomenal. It was so buttery and just a hint of sweet from the onions. The duck breast was a good choice , meat was cooked perfectly , the figs pair really well with the dish and the rosemary potatoes as well. The alligot is definitely worth trying. It was rich and creamy and a good portion for two people. Absolutely loved the crème brûlée here , was perfectly balanced with a caramelised top and silky rich custard. A good indulgent meal for a special occasion. Would highly recommend.

Had a very French family dinner here to celebrate the birthday of grandma ! It’s a really popular restaurant and we managed to get a successful reservation first time ! Start with lamb kidney , snail, goat cheese, bone marrow, main course served Guinea fowl, lamb rib and crab souffle, the food quality and quantity is great and the staff are always with the smile and polite even when clean the spilled mocktail drink, British Service!
Hall Z — Google review
A little disappointed with overall experience, but I which is a real shame. Ordered drinks and oysters (as bar snacks) they took ages to arrive, staff asked about them twice... They didn't seem very attentive or notice we had no food until my husband asked.... The crab souffle looked as if it had been kept warm a while as it was flat on the plate and not at all as expected. Desert and cheese board were OK. It's a real shame, we were there for a celebratory meal at 6 pm, so it wasn't busy, we just feel it could be better.
Kim L — Google review
We came here for a celebratory meal and it was absolutely unforgettable. We enjoyed lobster, scallops, and razor clams — everything was cooked to perfection and bursting with flavour. It was our first time trying lobster, and the staff were so helpful and patient in guiding us through the experience, which made it even more enjoyable. To finish, we had the crème brûlée, which was honestly out of this world. A truly special evening and 1000% worth it. Highly recommend for anyone looking for exceptional food and warm, attentive service.

Sonny Stores is a charming Italian restaurant located in South Bristol, known for its seasonal dishes and relaxed neighborhood atmosphere. Run by a husband-and-wife team, the restaurant offers a delightful selection of Italian cuisine, making it an ideal spot for a quick lunch or a romantic dinner with organic wine. Despite its small size, Sonny Stores has garnered praise from both local patrons and national critics alike.
Came here for my graduation and messed up my booking (All my fault) but they were super accommodating. It was my third time here and the food is alway top notch. Shame I have graduated as now I won’t be able to go as often.

My boyfriend and I had the most amazing amazing time celebrating our anniversary at Sonny Stores. The service was amazing, the atmosphere was perfect and the food was unreal. My boyfriend loved his pizza, and my pasta was perfect. The starter bread was also delicious! We dine out in London a lot and came to Bristol for the weekend, but we left wishing we lived in Bristol so we could eat here more often :)
Erin B — Google review
Intimate dining experience reminiscent of the best restaurants in cities like Lisbon and Paris. Solid concept with perfect execution. I hope you get to try the squid and the pumpkin risotto. Thank you sonny stores for hosting us for our birthday celebration, we will not forget the experience!

We had a really delicious meal at Sonny Stores this past weekend. The service was phenomenal- you really couldn’t ask for more. We had loads of questions and our kind waitress talked us through the whole menu and was clearly very passionate about the dishes on offer. The pizzetta was tasty and I appreciated how happy the staff were to make an adjustment to make it vegetarian. The castelfranco salad was divine. My friends loved their ossobuco and thought it was worth every penny. My ravioli was tasty too, as was the focaccia. There were many stars to this meal. My two wishes would be for a slightly nicer interior - the plastic chairs don’t seem to chime with the fine dining menu that this restaurant offers. We were also let down with the tiramisu, which seemed to have split and just didn’t taste great. But I’m putting that down to an off batch as I know how great it looks on other reviews. After tip we paid £150 in total for 3 people, including a bottle of wine. This felt fair enough.

One word for you: BRUNCH! We went a couple of weeks ago, or whenever they started to serve brunch. And what a great idea that was! We ordered pretty much everything on the menu. Everything was so, so tasty, all washed down with a good French press cafetière. The menu is small, but OMG, it is so well done and good. Every single dish was memorable. From the simple but not too sweet cinnamon roll served with butter and caramel sauce, to the Billingsgate bun, Are you ready?: Scallops, black pudding, bacon, egg, and plenty of magic and love 🤯🤯🤯. It is so hard to find a good spot for quality brunch, whether in Bristol, London, or any city. It is normally overrated, overpriced, and the same menu everywhere. But at Sonny’s Stores, that is not the case. You see their Italian and Mediterranean influence, but you also see quality and passion for great food and good quality products. Anyway, go and try it soon. You are welcome! P.s. they have a beautiful private room upstairs where they can fit around 14 people for a nice private celebration (if you have that many Friends)

Lovely neighbourhood joint. Impeccable food and cool decor inside. The pizza is awesome and the flavours of the cod exquisite. Also loved the tiramisu.
Ayush K — Google review
The experience at Sonny Stores has been exceptional every time we have come for dinner. My husband and I are both vegetarian, there are always plenty of options so we don’t end up eating the same dishes - we never leave hungry! The service is friendly and professional - we are lucky to have this neighbourhood within walking distance of home, which makes for a very convenient evening out.
Bethan G — Google review
My boyfriend and I came here for dinner after reading amazing reviews, and we hoped they'd live up but we were a little disappointed. Starting with the good, the waitress we had was really great. It was very busy but she kept us updated, and the bread we had as a sharer was extremely well made, as well as the dough of the pizzeta. The pizzeta toppings were a bit underwhelming and the whipped cod was okay, but nothing special to rave about, as well as the pasta my boyfriend had. We ordered two negronis which never came, as the staff couldn't find the ingredients, but I won't complain as we were giving complimentary drinks on the house after a long wait, and as I mentioned the waitress we had was great at keeping us updated. The place was very loud, can't really hold a conversation if you're in a smaller group, so had to either shout at each other over the table or sit in silence. I was hoping for more from this place as the reviews are fantastic, and maybe we just caught it on a bad day.

Nestled in the heart of central Bedminster, COR Restaurant is a charming Mediterranean eatery that has been making waves since its opening in late 2022. Helmed by renowned chef Mark Chapman, known for his work at local favorites Bravas and Gambas, this lively tapas bar offers a delightful mix of Mediterranean flavors with Italian influences.
COR Blimey! Stunning meal. We walked in at lunchtime with no reservation and went for the 3 courses for £30 option and loved every course. The attention to detail and subtle flavours were amazing. I haven’t been this excited by food in months. I’m keen to come back and try other options from the main menu. The atmosphere and staff were also fab. Thank you COR 🙏
Gertie K — Google review
COR offers a vibrant and modern dining experience. The menu focuses on seasonal ingredients and the flavors are spot-on. The small plates concept works wonderfully here. It’s a little gem in Bristol with a relaxed yet stylish vibe.
Mark — Google review
Had a fantastic meal at COR who catered brilliantly for gluten free (coeliac) requirements. Most of the menu can be adapted to be gluten free and staff were brilliant at communicating allergen information which made me feel at ease right away. They even had a lovely gluten free bread to enjoy with the appetisers. The food itself was excellent - seasonal Mediterranean inspired dishes which had so much flavour. The Tropea onion with gorgonzola and hazelnuts was divine! My favourite meal I've had in Bristol in a long time!
Zoe D — Google review
Amazing food, service was amazing as well. I was served with a unique vegetable, bombastic sour flavour.. afterwards I was served with beef.. tender, juicy. End off the course meal with a fantastic dessert. Soft, sweet and custard. With a pinch of saltiness. Best
Bryan T — Google review
An incredible dining experience! The menu offers variety and was well executed. Lovely service and the pacing between dishes was perfect. We opted for one of their lunch menus at £30 which included the mussels in a tomato brodo, venison with beetroot & chimichurri and a crème caramel for dessert. Amazing value for the portion sizes and the quality of the dishes! We also ordered a few items a la carte: - Pig cheek ragu with crispy polenta which is my favourite dish I’ve had in Bristol this year! - Tropea onion with gorgonzola & a hazelnut beurre noisette which was the most surprising dish of our meal. Rich, creamy and slightly sweet. - Strawberries with meringue, balsamic, creme fraiche and basil. Simple, but all the flavours worked beautifully together. Each dish was so well-balanced and there is no wasted ingredient on the plate. TOP TIP: Make sure you order their bread with black garlic butter to start, because you’ll want to soak up all the amazing sauces off each plate… I would highly recommend COR and rate them as one of the top restaurants in Bristol.
Miguel — Google review
So delicious and such a cosy lil spot. I had the vegan menu and everything was INSANE. Bread and olives were a classic 10/10, the balsamic and hazelnut shallots were unreal and the linguine was to die for, such interesting textures. Only thing was there could be another option for the vegan desserts to make it even better. My mum had the non vegan menu and LOVED everything! And… delish mocktail/cocktail and wine choices. Staff were so friendly and helpful!
Evie W — Google review
What a gem of a restaurant! The food is sublime (my husband held a Michelin star, as well as being a Masterchef of GB), and he would have been in awe of this place. It’s not just the food though, Izy’s knowledge of wine and other drinks was amazing, recommending what would go with various dishes, and looking after us, in fact the whole team were involved and were clearly passionate about everything, the enthusiasm for what these guys were creating, and attentiveness to us was incredible! Can’t wait to go back when I’m next in Bristol. Thank you Cor…
Ann L — Google review
Michelin guide restaurant with a "tapas" concept on which you would order 2~3 dishes for a meal. There are about ~20 options from bread + garlic butter to fish/pork main dish. They were serving an orange wine and signature cocktail which were both nice. The burrata was very good and the food overall was nice and unique. Don't need to book and I just walked-in and could have the table for ~2h. Overall it is a bit expensive but it is a "special moment" type of restaurant.

The restaurant features colorful murals on its walls and a boldly styled interior, creating a welcoming and imaginative atmosphere. With dishes like beef madras and pork cheek vindaloo, Nutmeg showcases locally sourced ingredients and strives to do justice to the culinary diversity of Indian cuisine.
We went as a group and ordered a variety of dishes to try as much as we could — and we loved every bit of it! This place truly stood out with its unique vibe. The food was beautifully presented, not only looking amazing but tasting just as good. Every dish was full of flavour and clearly made with care. It also has a bar, which adds to the overall experience. I’d definitely recommend this place and will be visiting again!

We came here for a graduation celebration and we throroughly enjoyed our expereince. We were given a beautiful table and the staff were very welcoming and knowledgeable about dishes. The food was delicious and there was a great drinks selection with some interesting cocktails. Dessert was unique and very delicious. We're looking forward to returning.

Very good Indian food, a little upscale which I liked. The onion bhajis for starters are some of the best I’ve had. The chutneys were great. My main was tasty but not amazing. Two things that bothered me: -The AC blasting made it unpleasant -The Cobra beers were a bit flat Overall very good and I would come back.

Lovely place with AMAZING food! Great portion sizes, delicious cocktails, nice choice for veggies. Our server Jon was incredible - super friendly and really made the effort to explain all the dishes and drinks offered. Would 100% recommend for a fresh and authentic curry. Was nice and quiet at lunch time with gorgeous decor.

We were greeted at the door by a very nice waiter/manager who got us a table straight away. The service was absolutely on point and seemed to actually love their jobs. (Bonus). We didn’t have starters but all opted for a dish we don’t normally have. All I can say is that the quality and quantity of the food was superb. If/when we go back to Bristol we will definitely being eating here again. Absolutely sublime food and service. Thank you so much.

I have eaten at Nutmeg Clifton several times now, and it is one of the most consistently excellent restaurants I've ever been to. The service is incredible, the decor and music are cosy and beautiful, and the food... well, if I could eat there every single day I wouldn't get bored. Great for a small or large group. Would definitely recommend getting a variety of dishes to share so you can experience everything. Food was high quality and tasted amazing. The chicken thigh and lamb were great but the vegetarian food like halloumi and fried cauliflower dishes was everyone favourite of the night. Just to note the food is expensive but definitely worth it for the quality and quantity. Will come back again!

All the mezzes were delicious! We had the lunch deal for £20 per person and ordered all the mezzes — they were all so tasty. I didn’t really like the desserts, but my friends enjoyed them. It’s an open kitchen, i think because of that the restaurant didn’t smell very nice. There was also no music, so it felt a bit boring. The guy who was serving us was working alone but he did his best.
Büşra O — Google review
Did the lunchtime deal on a Thursday, amazing value for money, absolutely beautiful food (the aubergine was so so good), will definitely be back next time I am in Bristol. Really nice wine too, great vibes inside and the service was super friendly, a perfect dining experience.

I come here for the £20 lunch deal from time to time and absolutely love it. The food is all cooked fresh and the bread is incredible. You select one bread and dip and then two tapas type dishes. Spanish restaurant
Paco Tapas, located in Redcliffe, offers a traditional Spanish tapas experience with a cozy and intimate atmosphere. The restaurant's vaulted black walls and low lighting create the feeling of dining in a private wine cellar. The attentive chefs curate a delightful selection of plates while the waiters carefully choose wines to complement the meal. Situated on Lower Guinea Street by Bristol Harbour, this restaurant provides al fresco dining with views of the picturesque Bathurst Basin.
Awesome dining experience with friendly & attentive staff who looked after us. The food was wonderfully presented, bursting with flavour and plates were expertly paired to complement each other. The Seared Tuna was the star of the evening and was 'melt in the mouth' brilliance. Overall an excellent evening and will definitely be coming back!

Enjoyed the experience at Paco's Tapas, end September 2024 - we had the set menu on a Friday night - a very busy night, late reservation and we were sat at the bar, looking into the actual cooking area... Fascinating! Not only the food was amazing, but the kitchen is a brilliant show of synchronicity and perfection... The chefs run a tight show, the souchefs are excellent and the quality shows in every move and every form...mesmezing! BRAVO!! 👌🏻 We definitely will be back next time we're down in Bristol visiting our family. 💯

Amazing Spanish tapas with fresh food and some interesting twists on classics. Nice wine menu and staff are knowledgable on the wine. The highlight was certainly the tuna and the bread was certainly a pleasant surprise.
Ben Z — Google review
We visited with such high expectations. These were definitely met by the service and atmosphere, however the food was a little disappointing. Portions were tiny for the amount they charged. No matter how amazing the flavour (although there was nothing mind-blowing) or the quality, when you leave a restaurant thinking you need to stop at McDonald's to feel satisfied, something's gone amiss 😅 especially when you've spent £75 on the chefs menu!
Alexandra B — Google review
Really amazing experience, a few years before we had gone to Casamia and this was a beautiful reminder of the exceptional food, atmosphere and service that is offered at both restaurants. After a booking system failure they promptly made contact and rebooked my valentines day reservation. Really happy about that.
Luke B — Google review
Very tasty food and especially the meat! Definitely worth trying. However, the seats were not comfortable. All the tables were high with stool and no back support. The plates and portions were small and expensive even for tapas!
Dimitra S — Google review
We expected to pay more with it being a Michelin Star restaurant but the prices were really high when compared to the portion size of some of the dishes which was disappointing. Regardless the food was delicious all round but it felt like there was never enough for the price. Our waiter was exceptional, amazing knowledge of the dishes, the wine on offer and his personality really added to the overall experience. His upselling skills really paid off 😉 Overall a special once off experience but not sure we will be back.

Hands down the best tapas place I've ever been to! I've never really been extremely passionate about tapas until I stumbled upon this Michelin starred tapas place in the heart of Bristol. They have a very simple menu with seemingly basic dishes, unlike the usual intricate dishes most Michelin starred places whip up in their tasting menus. There is not a single dish that I find underwhelming. They were all perfect! The interior was classy and not busy. However, the service was swift until it came to the pigeon. I had to wait for half an hour for it. But overall, an amazing dining experience!

Pasta Ripiena is a cozy restaurant that specializes in stuffed pasta made with seasonal ingredients. Located in Bristol, it offers a variety of Italian starters, seafood dishes, and charcuterie. The restaurant prides itself on using high-quality Italian and Spanish products to create its dishes. The menu features options like ravioli of beetroot and ricotta, beef shin lasagne, and bucatini with Cornish crab and mussels.
Compliments to the Chef! From the first bite to the last, every dish was an exquisite journey of flavour and craftsmanship. It's clear that each plate was prepared with care, passion, and an extra touch of love. The rich, perfectly balanced flavours combined with stunning presentation made this meal unforgettable. For me, this isn't just the best Italian restaurant in the area—it might very well be the finest in the entire UK. Every detail, from the texture of the pasta to the savoury sauces and fresh ingredients, reflected the mastery of Italian culinary art. Whether you're an avid foodie or simply someone who appreciates good food, this restaurant will transport your taste buds straight to Italy. Truly a gem worth revisiting. Bravo!

Really great spot. The food was really excellent - simple but delicious. I really like that the kitchen is open so you can see the chefs preparing your food. Lunch menu at £23 for two courses felt pretty reasonable given how delicious it was. Everything tasted incredibly fresh. Service was very fast, the atmosphere was very relaxed and quiet. Will definitely be coming back.

Delicious food - starter of pigeon breast and main of venison cappellacci were both amazing. The only slight fault was the cold greens in the pigeon dish, which were a bit jarring and could have used warning up. Lovely wine, on the expensive side but the Barbers was worth it for me. The restaurant itself isn't really in keeping with the food. Wall benches and plastic seats that look straight out of a school assembly. I appreciate it's an attempt at "casual" dining but I prefer a bit more class in the decor when spending a fair bit of money on a special meal, the interior just feels a bit cheap. A very Bristol phenomenon though, and probably made worse by being seated right next to the pass. The smell of mackerel from someone's starters wasn't welcome during dessert, and the bright light over the pass being repeatedly turned on and off was really annoying. Still a great meal, the food more than made up for the venue.

It was fully booked but we were slipped in as our table wasn't needed for 90 minutes. All the pastas are stuffed (think ravioli). The food was exceptional and the service pleasant, informative and efficient. When we arrived we thought the red chord across the entrance was a bit weird but as the place filled up we appreciated it was a very effective way to manage new arrivals. Would go again on my next visit to Bristol but I'll remember to book.

The menu is dedicated to celebrating perfectly crafted pasta shapes paired with simple yet delicious sauces. With its inclusion in the Michelin Guide, it's no surprise that Little Hollows Pasta offers freshly made pasta filled with love and passion that shines through in every bite.
Little Hallows was amazing. First of all, the pasta was the best pasta I have ever had. The service was great, Will and Laura especially, they were amazing. We went for my Girlfriend's birthday and it was just a great experience, they made us feel super special. I would 100% recommend and definitely would go there again. Thank you Little Hallows!

Hesitated whether to write this review but the discount offered (£7) couldn’t justify the night ruined… so I would like to share my experience. In short, this place is overpriced and overhyped. The service was lukewarm but I could see the lady was trying her best. The dish was not tasty at all and that is an understatement. I can cook better pasta than this at home and wouldn’t eat it if I was paid. I can’t believe it’s a Michelin recommended restaurant. My friend told me it is fantastic that is why we went for the first time. I couldn’t comprehend the whole experience. Why are the reviews raving about it? Could it be me or the inconsistency in the food quality? Anyway, I felt sorry for the lady as she didn’t cook this meal and was just doing her job. But the food was so horrendous that both our heart and wallet felt hollow. Thanks. Btw, i didn’t quite get the cancellation policy?? £25 per person? I had an odd feeling before I went and it proved my intuition right.

Really lovely service, gorgeous atmosphere (loved the little tiny hollowed out gourds for tealight holders!) and the pasta was unbelievable. We had the bread to start which was warm and was served with soft, salted butter. We had a bottle of white wine to share and then one pasta dish each, the reginette pork and the cappelletti with mushrooms. It was the best pasta I’ve ever had and my partner loved his. It’s so nice to have a place of such high quality with vegetarian and vegan options. We shared the tiramisu for dessert which was also amazing! It was a very memorable evening and we are really excited to be back soon!

Our local friends had arranged dinner for us at Little Hollows Pasta, one of their favorite spots. The food was delicious! I had boquerones as a starter and tortelloni with mascarpone, tomatoes, and ricotta as the main course. Absolutely amazing food. Everyone in our group said the same. The service was friendly, although we had to wait quite a while for the main course—the starters arrived quickly. It was a warm evening, and we dined peacefully on the enclosed outdoor terrace, as the small indoor dining room was full. From a traveler’s perspective, the restaurant is a bit off the beaten path in Redland, but it’s accessible by public transport as well as taxis. The surrounding area is charming, mostly made up of detached houses. There’s also a nice pub nearby, The Kensington Arms.

Genuinely one of the best pastas I’ve had in a long long time! The sourdough was surprisingly soft, and the burrata wasn’t seasoned so not really for my taste. The cocktails were great though – definitely try the Bellini and the gin basil smash. The pasta was the absolute star of the show. The agnolotti was divine, rich, and full of flavour. The prices are overall on the higher side, but totally worth it for the taste and portion size. I wanted to try the tomato spaghetti too, so that’s on my list for next time. The tiramisu was good as well. Tip: please make a reservation, it gets busy!

Recently brought some out of town friends here and we loved it! I do wish they had a few more meat centric options but could just be the summer menu. Delicious spot for fresh pasta and a very nicely redone garden patio in the back.

Some of the best pasta I have ever had 🍝 Little Hollows was an absolute delight, the staff were very welcoming and assisted with the menu when we had questions. The lunchtime set menu is incredible value for three courses, each were delicious. Highly recommend!

It was very busy even on a tuesday afternoon and the place filled up quickly. We had a reservation so there wasn’t any waiting to get the table. Servers were polite and professional. Everything was served properly, & well in time. We chose the set lunch menu which was good value for money. Sourdough was served with the softest salted butter that i’ve ever tried. Bruschetta was great, i had it without the anchovies. And all three pasta dishes were cooked to perfection; Agnolotti was absolutely phenomenal with the most decadent tomato filling. The only thing i found a bit underwhelming was tiramisu but everything else earned 5 stars so can’t complain! I would highly recommend this place!

Amazing. Should’ve reviewed a long time ago. Been coming here for many years (not as regularly as we’d like!). Staff are brilliant, food amazing, always feels like a real treat. Giles’ attention to detail and the friendly atmosphere add to the above making it our favourite Bristol restaurant.

Had an amazing anniversary dinner here on the 18th July!! I recommend booking in advance as the restaurant is small, but the vibe and staff are lovely. I believe the menu varies slightly each day, and there are also limited specials of the day that are put up on the blackboard. We shared the crab butter & bread started and it was AMAZING!! Honestly the best starter we’ve ever had anywhere 🫶🏻 For the main, we had a beef onglet and the lobster special. Both were of a very good quality and had lots of flavour. We ordered 2 cocktails each as well as a cheesecake to share for dessert. Everything was perfect, the staff were very friendly and attentive, and the prices were very reasonable for its quality. I would definitely come back again!

We had one of the nicest Sunday roasts we’ve had in a long time, truly a standout meal. The food was absolutely delicious. The meat was tender and flavorful, the roast potatoes were crisp on the outside and fluffy on the inside, and the vegetables were fresh and well-seasoned. Even the gravy was rich and packed with flavor.

Summary: There is always a reason for google star 4.9 Service: Kind and perfect. Three of servers all. I appreciate it Atmosphere: Calm and peaceful. If youre tired of vibe of the pub and want to experience restaurant's vibe for sunday roast, this is perfect place. Food: Absolutely stunning Pork Belly: It was nicely cooked, and it didnt make my gut uncomfortable because the amount of salt was perfect. Appropriate amount of salt on crackling outside and meat was mild, which was so great. When it comes to texture, crackling was crunchy, meat didnt have any bad smell and medium~medium well done Sauces: Red sauce might be from beet but im not sure. It has a liitle bit smell of soil so it would depends on ppl whether it will be good or not. Personally, I prefer mix it with gravy sauce and then have it with vegetables, which was good. For me vegetables with just red sauce didnt go well but i think others can feel different. Yellow sauce has flavour of peach, which is rlly good for washing mouth after you feel greasy. It made my mouth fresh. Both sauces were also good in terms of visual. Potatoes and vegetables: vegetables were perfect. For potatoes, they were a little bit salty but not much that this can hurt other thing's flavour. Yorkshire Pudding: Not bad, not good. Neutral It was sooooooo nice that I even licked up all the sauces. Next time, if I have a chance, I will visit here again with my friends. Thank you for great experince

Been coming to Caper and Cure for years and it’s always been amazing so decided to come here for our wedding reception. It was FANTASTIC. The service (Shelby and India) was amazing, couldn’t do enough but also weren’t intrusive to the day. Had at least six messages saying that it was the best wedding food that people had ever had and also the most food! Wine was also spot on. Could not recommend this place enough whether it’s for special meal or a wedding. The roasts slap too!

Lovely meal! We went for lunch and enjoyed the Saturday Lunch set menu which was great value. The wine and selection of Wiper & True beers was also excellent.

We booked in advance and walked to Caper, as we approached we could hear off tune rapping pumping out of the Collective. As we approached it got louder and the strong smell of ganja assailed our senses. As we waited for the red man to turn to green I felt the rhythm build within my soul. I was about to break out into the groove of things when I remembered white guys can’t dance. I resisted the temptation. I sighed with relief when the man turned green and we grooved across the road. On entering the Caper we were surrounded by the sound and ambience of zen. The decor was comforting to the eye, or had I breathed in the ganja too deeply. The lighting was just right, the natural light filled the area and there was a family seated at a table across from ours. The lady who greeted us was very friendly and we were shown to our table. We began with 6 oysters, so good they were followed by another 6. A Negroni and a girly cocktail were had with the oysters. I chose an English wine, the menu said it was unfiltered, but when I checked the bottle it looked fine. The wine was very good indeed, but the label on the bottle was a little childish in design. Crab and tortellini followed the oysters, both dishes were outstanding. Would recommend. For the mains we had stone bass, a good fish we had not tried before. The beans were the star attraction in mains dish. Flavor combinations were well thought out. Desert was a bit of this and that, chocolate moose, the sorbet, the creme fresh ice cream and the affogato. All good, and yummy when mixed up on the same spoonful. It was a lovely dinner, great food, great ambience, and great service. When we left it was a little cooler and the afro beats had ceased, the walk back the hotel was cool, pleasant and uneventful.

Pasture is an upscale steakhouse offering craft cocktails and a full bar in a stylish mid-century-inspired setting. The restaurant sources its beef from regenerative South West farms and ages it on-site before cooking it over charcoal and wood for added flavor. In addition to serving top-quality steaks, the establishment also features a downstairs bar with live music (pre-COVID) and a bustling atmosphere.
I had a fantastic meal at Pasture in Bristol. The menu is well thought out with plenty of variety, and everything felt fresh and high quality. The meat was especially impressive – cooked perfectly and full of flavour. Service was friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere had a great buzz without being too loud. A really enjoyable dining experience, and I’d definitely recommend it to anyone looking for excellent food in the city.

I went here with my partner for his birthday and honestly, it was one of the best dining experiences we’ve ever had. From the moment we walked in, the vibe was just spot on, stylish without being pretentious, buzzing but still intimate enough for a date night. Our host sam was great, you can tell he genuinely knows his stuff, especially when it comes to the steaks. We went for his recommendations: the padron peppers, short rib croquettes, the tomahawk steak, and for dessert, the cheesecake and chocolate delice. Every single dish was unreal. The steak especially was next level, cooked perfectly and packed with flavour. The service felt personal and relaxed, and the staff clearly take pride in what they do. They also catered to my partners food allergy and were attentive throughout. For the quality of food, the atmosphere, and the level of care, the price was completely reasonable. You can tell it’s somewhere that values both experience and craft. Thanks pasture!! X

Used to find steakhouses overrated and not worth the value for money until I came here. Hands down the best steak in Bristol! Always a memorable experience with excellent food, sides and sauces. Went for my birthday and the staff went above and beyond to make it a special experience, alongside phenomenal steak/sides. Steakhouses often disappoint me, but I always come away from here very satisfied! Other than steaks, I cannot recommend their spinach gratin and short rib croquettes enough😅

I’ve finally got around to writing this. I came here in late June with friends for the first time and Pasture really knocked it out the park. Pasture has been on my list for years and the quality and service was exceptional. Their reputation is well earned and did not let down. From the drinks to the food to the staff to the atmosphere, all 10s. Their cocktails are great! I love the locality and blend of flavours which compliments the steakhouse itself. I had the ribeye and it was the best steak I’ve ever had, the melt in the mouth tenderness. The starters were great too, from the croquettes to the mussels to the cod roe - the balance and softness of flavours. If you’re looking for a great dining steak experience, Pasture is definitely a place you want on your list! If I remember correctly our waiter was Ben and he was friendly, knowledgeable, and did a wonderful job of looking after us!

Absolutely outstanding! From start to finish, everything was perfect — the food was incredible, cooked to perfection and full of flavour, and the service was top-notch. Every member of the team was friendly, attentive, and genuinely passionate about what they do. You can really tell they care about giving every guest a great experience. We order the lamb rump, beef tartare and dry aged burger with tallow fries. Hands down one of the best meals I’ve ever had. Can’t wait to come back — highly, highly recommended!

Excellent service at this well established spot in Bris. The gentleman that served us was knowledgeable, friendly and quick on his feet. I would highly recommend the porterhouse steak if there are two of you. It was absolutely delightful. My only feedback would be upping the atmosphere for those sat downstairs near the window. It feels a little out the way and not in the mix.

A brilliant place with lovely staff and incredible food. The atmosphere is relaxed yet the menu shows great commitment to provenance and high-quality ingredients. The restaurant also offers a very interesting cocktail menu, as well as some premium wine options at a great price point. Calum was very friendly and helpful, offering great suggestions and highlighting that everything on the menu is sustainably produced and locally sourced, which made our dining experience feel extra special. Every dish we tried was delicious and perfectly balanced, showcasing a real sense of purpose and thoughtful cooking. Overall we had a fantastic experience from start to finish. Definitely worth the visit if you’re in Bristol!

This was our first ever visit to Pasture and we will definitely be back. From when we entered to when we left the service was impeccable. My allergen was taken seriously and they couldn’t have done more to try and accommodate my needs. We were given a complimentary starter as the wait for our house cuts were a little long, however when our mains arrived, oh my god, it was worth the wait. Porterhouse was cooked exactly how we asked, sides were hot, plates were set on the table hot. Everything was flawless. A huge shout out to Mirian, she was so friendly and welcoming and made us feel like she was just there for us, she’s a perfect example of how to serve guests. We booked as a table of 4 and every single one of us enjoyed everything - thank you so much!

Restaurant
Mugshot Restaurants Bristol is a 1920s-themed British steakhouse located at 18 St Nicholas St. The restaurant offers a warm and moody charm with wood paneling, parquet flooring, velvet booths, and chandeliers. It provides a unique dining experience with hot stone cooking for meat lovers. The menu features chops, seafood, wine, and cocktails in an atmosphere reminiscent of traditional chophouses from the Twenties.
Whilst staying in Bristol, I decided to find somewhere to watch rather than the rather dire in house hotel restaurant. After checking for reviews, this eatery was the one that caught my attention. Managed to be seated straight away. After checking the menu where I could have selected multiple courses, everything looked and sounded great. The waitress (Sian) was attentive and knowledgeable, which came in useful as she demonstrated how you prepared your steak using the hot stone that the steak came with. The food was well presented. The steak was delicious and combined with the flavoured butters and sauce it was both theatrical and memorable. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys a steak and is prepared to participate in the cooking.
Paul O — Google review
My boyfriend absolutely loves this place and decided to take me all the way to Bristol to try it. I was very excited and saw all the hype and good reviews people have given it. However, I felt like the steak was lacking in flavour, and especially the sauce. I tried Beef dripping, wild mushroom, and peppercorn sauces. Unfortunately I wasn’t a fan of any of them, and they didn’t add much, or any, extra flavour to the steak. The butters overpower any beef flavour there might have possibly been. Also tasted very under-salted, or like no salt was added at all. I guess I was not much of a fan of cooking it myself, though I completely admit I wanted to try it. It just took a bit too long to cook it, rather than enjoy it, and no matter how long I cooked it, the steak kept the texture of a rare steak— extremely tender, which sounds good, but it was just way too soft for me. Prior to this, I had pork belly bites as a starter which were absolutely amazing, would definitely recommend. I know a lot of people love this place, but I guess it just wasn’t flavorful enough for me and I wasn’t a fan of the texture. That’s my main complaint. Service was perfect, and the 20’s theme is great too.

We have been wanting to go to this place for ages, and we finally had the chance. Omg what a meal. The staff were great, very helpful and chatty, the atmosphere was nice too in this 1920's themed restaurant. The food was another level. Camembert to start baked in a bread roll with red onion jam amazing. I had the fillet steak and my wife the fish of the day which was tuna steak. The theme of the restaurant is the meat/fish comes seared only, then with the hot stones provided you use your choice of butters to cook the meat to your liking. It's was flavour heaven, with a cowboy and a garlic butter. Beef dripping sauce, Mac n cheese and Parmesan chips. If that was my last meal, then what a meal. We cannot wait to go back

We enjoyed every bite! I ordered ribeye and my partner ordered fillet and they were amazing! It was fun to cook them on hot stone to our liking! Pork belly appetizer was a bit too salty but still delicious!

I used to work in a steak-on-the-stone restaurant and it was nice to visit a restaurant of the same concept and be on the receiving end 😊. The steak cuts were good quality (though under-salted) - the added butter sauce and side made it value for money. The butters were great but the sauces, I have to say, were underwhelming. The pepper sauce was bland and floury and the red wine sauce was sweet - where I expected a rich red wine jus I had something of a store bought sweet chilli (minus the chilli) consistency. The Parmesan and truffle chips were overcooked and I tasted no truffle. The saving experience here was definitely the service. We were instructed perfectly, and someone noticed when our stone was cold and brought us a new one (this I especially appreciated). The Swoon gelato was a lovely way to end the meal off. I would come back and I’m sure - knowing more of what to order - leave a 5 star review.

First time visiting here after probably trying 80% of Bristols steak houses and I was intrigued, the “cook you’re own” style steak restaurant is not really for me but here we are let’s give it a go! Order a flat iron steak 12oz - truffle Parmesan fries, butter - honey and bearnaise and chimichurri sauce. Also order side of mac and cheese and tender stem broccoli. Let’s talk steak - the cut was quality, good sear when served and lots of flavour from the cut itself. Tender and juicy then waiter took us through the “way too cook” using hot stone. Would say overall it was a quality steak, cooked different bits from rare to mid rare and even well done on cap end, just to see how the hot stone would handle it. Overall really nice no complaints with the steak at all - lovely cut and quality meat. Both butters were lovely and flavourful would have liked more to be honest, to run through the steak instead of using it to grease the stone. I had 2 sauces a chimichurri and beef dripping - both sauces were exceptional - rich deep flavours and palette warming the beef dripping hit hard was so glossy and umami! But don’t sleep on the chimichurri, fragrant bright sweet and acidic just how it should be! But here’s where I think it let me down and not quite hit the high bar mark - the sides! Mac and cheese was dry and pretty all round bland without any real tasting notes, broccoli was standard nothing wild is anything lacked any sear just plain boiled, but thankfully not over done and soft. The fries, tiny portion and upgrade to truffle n parm was pointless not a flavour of either on those. The fries were here to complement the dish and help soak up the juices but just way this is served it’s not really possible. Overall I’d give it a solid 7.5/10 and wouldn’t turn anyone away from going! Cook you’re own steak is not my favourite thing and always puts me off but I would say this gaff is probably best at doing it - if you into that style of steak restaurants well this is place to go!! But the venting is not the best and can get really smokey! Would not recommend for anyone with breathing difficulties!! Special mention to staff here - really attentive and on the ball, friendly but not over hosting, they made the experience really good!

A beautiful gem of a restaurant. We visited on Friday, the atmosphere and decor is warm And inviting. It immediately felt welcoming. Little touches like a secret room behind a bookcase made it fun and quirky. Our waiter Thomas was very attentive and talked us through drinks and the menu knowledgeably, the cocktails were delicious and not the run of the mill ones you are often offered. The food was absolutely faultless and the cook your own concept is definitely something we would try again. We can’t wait to visit again.

It’s a meatiors must in Bristol. The meat was melt in your mouth outstanding, served seared and finished on hot plate style cooking, accompanied by flavoured butters and sauces. The atmosphere was understated yet inviting and the service was attentive but not intrusive. All round a lovely evening!

Under the Stars is a unique dining spot in Bristol, offering Mediterranean tapas on a boat moored in the historic harbour. The restaurant has been serving diners since 2010 and provides a cozy interior with rich wood and blue decor, as well as alfresco dining on the spacious top deck. Guests can enjoy delectable small plates and cocktails while taking in views of Bristol's Harbourside.
Amazing atmosphere. If you want somewhere to gossip over wine and bread and butter, this is the place to be. It is fairly overpriced, as in, I did expect the prices to reflect the gentrification of Bristol. The wine was good. Food was decent. All in all could not complain ☀️

What a fantastic venue. Glad we booked ahead and had a great table sat outside in the evening sun. Cocktails were good (on the pricier side) and they had a great wine selection which was good value for money. Food was really nice, I especially enjoyed the crab croquetas. Staff super friendly and the whole venue had a lovely welcoming atmosphere. Highly recommended

Visited the restaurant with a partner in the early evening. It is essentially a boat with a very cozy vibe to it. Unfortunately, it was a little chilly to sit on the outside section, but inside there's windows all facing the water where you can see ducks swimming by. The food tasted really good and the staff was welcoming, not only that but the portions of tapas are bigger than others I've visited which is a bonus. Would definitely recommend anyone to visit!

Nice but just that. We booked a table here for my birthday meal after reading a lot of good things online. I do feel like we were short changed a little and would’ve been better off booking one of the alternatives on our shortlist. It’s a great setting, we sat on the top which was open and lovely. The only downside was people smoking whilst you ate. Staff weren’t happy to be there. As I waited to place my order they moaned about the day and couldn’t wait to finish. We’ve all been there but maybe a conversation for a non-customer facing space. The person that served us was uninterested and just placed the plates down and left. The food - the steak was the biggest let down. It was absolutely tiny. I expected more for the price. The potatoes and cauliflower were the highlights for us. Now that I’ve been, I wouldn’t return but it’s a good one off experience to try out.

Great place to eat and celebrate, the terrace is lush when it’s warm. Decent priced, the tables are small and they only do a tapas menu but they are well worth it and the music/atmosphere is nice. This is what we shared between two people, 3 tapas and some patatas bravas, all very tasty. Highlights: the crab croquetas, chimichurri steak and mezcal margaritas with smoked pineaples, they were amazing! Nice boat!

Me and my girlfriend came here for our anniversary. The food was really good, tasted amazing. However I feel like the prices are steep for what it is. also I’m not sure if it was the time we came, but it was so busy, and because of how close together the tables are, it’s impossible to have a normal conversation. If there was a bit more room between tables then I would’ve had a much better time.

Atmosphere is nice, were seated inside and didn't find it too loud. We had quite a few things between the 4 of us. 3 cocktails, 2 beers and a soft drink. For mains, had gambas (really good) , pork(really good), Hummus and bread, chorizo, sea bass, mushroom pasta, cabbage, seasonal carrots and squash. Then had 2 affogato, plum sponge and chocolate custard. Came to around £200. Don't think was too bad although definitely a treat. Service was ok.

We sat on an outdoor table looking towards the river. Magical view if it wasn't for all the dead insects and spiderwebs stuck on the ropes by where we were sat. The food itself was small portions and pricey. It was well presented and delicious, albeit the quality was not exceptional, just good. Staff was nice but everyone sounded a bit rushed. We may come back to get that camembert wheel.

The Spiny Lobster Fishmonger & Grill is a restaurant located in Devon that offers a diverse menu featuring fresh fish sourced daily from Brixham. They also serve simple meat dishes prepared over a charcoal grill. This establishment stands out for its selection of south-coast fish, which can be purchased at their sales counter. The fish available includes unique finds like conger eels, caught by resident fishmonger Barny Peterkin and once commonly used in soups and pies.
There is some kind of sorcery going on in the kitchens at Spiny Lobster. Some kind of magical mystery. I defy you to find a better fish restaurant within at least 100miles. More. The squid, the scallops, the monkfish. To Die. For. And if you are extra extra lucky you will get Tini serving you. Tini - we tip our hat to you. Impeccable service. Thanks for making our evening so special. Choose this place. Don't bother with anywhere else in Bristol.

This is an outstanding seafood restaurant with excellent service, great atmosphere and exquisite food. The scallops are a great start and the full lobster was an interesting flavour sensation with a lot of spices and seasoning which sort of works. The restaurant is stylish and overall if you love seafood then a visit should be a priority.
Dr S — Google review
I visited Spiney Lobster for a special birthday meal and unfortunately came away disappointed. The food itself was good – fresh and well-prepared seafood that largely lived up to expectations. However, the service fell well short of what you’d expect at this price point. When we arrived, our table wasn’t ready as the previous diners hadn’t left. While this wasn’t the restaurant’s fault, we weren’t offered anything while we waited – not even a drink or a simple gesture to acknowledge the delay. Throughout the meal, service remained slow. Our starters were cleared only as our mains arrived, there were no napkins on the table when we were seated, and a request for water went completely unacknowledged. I ended up with food splashed on my trousers due to the missing napkin, but again, no apology from the staff. By the time we finished our main courses, we gave up waiting to be asked about dessert and decided to pay and leave. A member of staff did acknowledge that the service wasn’t up to their usual standard, but nothing was offered by way of apology or goodwill. Overall, while the food was enjoyable, the poor service really took the shine off what should have been a celebratory evening. Sadly, I’d be reluctant to return.

Can't say enough good things about this place. My favourite sea food restaurant in the UK! definitely recommend
Chris D — Google review
We were so looking forward to having lunch at The Spiny Lobster last week. All started well but my daughter was unfortunately served a monkfish dish which sent her running to the bathroom (more than once). She was worried the fish wasn't fresh due to its slightly odd flavour and its tough texture. It wasn't enjoyable to eat. However, the staff convinced her it was fresh so there was no problem to be worried about. My daughter also noted raw, uncovered fish on a plate at the top of the stairs (in the adjoining fishmongers) that lead down to the toilets - there was no ice around the fish - this didn't strike her as a healthy way to be storing fresh fish. Additionally, the main menu was only offered on our arrival. The Small Plates menu was offered to us bizarrely along with the desert menu which was frustrating as we had hoped to choose from the Small Plates menu for lunch. However, it wan't offered to us so we had no idea it was available. The main menu was expensive for the quality of food and level of service we received. After a bit of a battle with the rude waitress, we were not charged for the monkfish dish and service was also deducted. Our waitress had an attitude which was unfortunate - not well trained in service. The marketing is also somewhat misleading. We won't be going back.

Very good. The food is of good quality and served nicely. Service is generally good but did have to remind of drinks orders. Prawns were good but not a particularly stand out. The scallops and Lobster were very good. The monk fish was excellent. Overall I would definitely recommend it, it is only just not getting a 5 to leave room at the top.

Definitely one of the best Bristol restaurants that I’ve been to so far. The food is fantastic! We tried a few small plates and starter dishes - each and every one of them was absolutely delicious. If I have to choose, my personal favourites are camerone fritters, grilled Atlantic wild prawns and soft shell crabs. The staff are so kind and friendly too. It is a little pricey but for the quality of food and atmosphere the whole experience is definitely worth it.

Spanish restaurant
Gambas is a relaxed Spanish restaurant located in Wapping Wharf, offering outdoor seating and a variety of seafood, meat, and vegetable tapas along with wine. The eatery specializes in prawns (gambas in Spanish) and other seafood dishes. With its great views of the harbor, Gambas offers prawn-based dishes like gambas pil pil and toritas de camarones, as well as other options such as Galician octopus and chorizo tortilla with alioli.
My foodie friend was visiting and I booked Gambas as she loves tapas. The food was amazing, really delicious and every dish was piping hot! She kept commenting throughout the evening about how great the food was, the tasty cherry sangria and the brilliant service and the following morning said she woke up thinking about the dishes. Safe to say it was a big hit and she said she'll be back!! My husband saw our photos and now wants to book a date night!

We booked the private dining room at Gambas for my daughters 19th surprise birthday celebrations. The restaurant were very very helpful organising the event as my daughter has dietary requirements and we wanted the surprise element too. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was absolutely lovely and the staff were really helpful and had great vibes! We will definitely be booked the private dining experience again at Gambas. Many thanks to everyone there

I came to Gambas to celebrate my wife’s birthday. We had a reservation, but we arrived an hour earlier than planned. The staff were all very polite and professional, and they kindly arranged a table for us right away. The menu isn’t particularly extensive, but I think that’s because the restaurant focuses on quality — the food was very fresh and delicious. They even have a kids’ menu, which is a big plus! There are also daily chef’s specials. Since it was our first visit, we asked the staff for their recommendations, and they took the time to explain everything in detail. We were very satisfied with what we ordered in the end. I especially want to thank Gambas for their thoughtfulness — they found out it was my wife’s birthday and surprised us with a complimentary Pelipal tapas and two glasses of white wine. At the end of the meal, they even gave my wife a box of chocolates as a thank-you gift. Although we had to drive two hours to get to this restaurant, the food quality, service, and atmosphere all exceeded our expectations. It was a wonderful surprise, and we’ll definitely come back again in the future. Highly recommended!

What an excellent place to get seafood tapas. The croquettes were very tasty. Sardines, scallops and skate wing were all cooked to perfection. The wild red prawns were to die for. Everything was fresh and full of umami flavour! The only let down was the octopus. Although it’s tender, it lacked flavour. We’re lucky to get a table as we walked in before 6pm. Would highly recommend Gambas to anyone who likes seafood!

This is one of the best restaurants in the entire city of Bristol! Every dish was amazing! My fav was their grilled cabbage I wonder how they make cabbage so goood! My second favorite was steak thingy on beans and for some reason I liked the beans much more than the meat which is not typical of me 😂 it was the best beans I have ever had and i truly loved them even though I am not a huge fan of beans! Defo gonna revisit!!

We had an absolutely wonderful evening in the private dining room for our Civil Partnership dinner. Thank you so much to Nell and Gus - you made our evening so so special and we will always remember our time with you very fondly. Gambas is our favourite (and most visited) restaurant in Bristol already and the private dining room was so much more than we expected! We were blown away with the beautiful and tailored experience. Gus cooking in the room for us and Nell serving and hosting our wine flight worked so well together and created our perfect night.

From the planning process to then on the day; the ambiance, the service, the food and drink - it was all amazing and I couldn't fault it, I am so happy we chose Gambas - I would recommend it to anyone if they are looking for a unique, intimate setting with amazing vibes/ food! All the guests loved it too. Great value for money and accommodating on dietary requirements as well.

No.1 Harbourside is a versatile restaurant located in Bristol's city center, offering a menu that caters to meat eaters, vegetarians, and vegans. The food is not only delicious but also affordable and diverse, making it an ideal spot for dining with friends and family. The quick service adds value for those on the go, while the waterside location provides a relaxing atmosphere with stunning views.
Relaxed atmosphere, and terrific service. My food came quickly, and the staff made me feel welcome. A really nice choice of drinks available too, particularly for zero alcohol beer drinkers. Nice burger and chips to set me up for a night at the Bristol Beacon just around the corner!
Robert N — Google review
No.1 Harbourside in Bristol absolutely smashed it out of the park! I came in hungry, left in a state of burger-bliss, and already planning my next trip back. Let’s talk about that beef burger—an absolute beast in the best possible way. Perfectly cooked, juicy, and stacked with all the right stuff. The bun? Toasted just right. The toppings? Balanced like a Michelin-starred tightrope act. Every bite delivered a punch of flavour that made my taste buds sing sea shanties. Easily one of the best burgers in Bristol—no exaggeration. And the service? Spot on. Friendly, fast, and genuinely welcoming without any of that fake “scripted” feel. The team clearly cares and it shows—from helping with drink pairings to checking in with a smile (and not in that “hover over your table” way). Speaking of drinks: the selection is top-tier. Whether you’re after a crisp local cider, a crafty IPA, or something a little more experimental, they’ve got you covered. Big props for supporting local breweries and keeping it fresh on tap. All of this, right by the water, with those relaxed harbourside vibes? Unreal.
Alun R — Google review
A decent bar right on the water front, a little pricey and we were not told the total before having to pay by card. Would have been a 5 star but any venue that does not value cash customers looses a star from me. Nice Cider try a pint and watch the people go past.

A beautiful sunny afternoon, the covered terrace at the Waterfront, and pints outside at the Harbourside nro 1 bar. A perfect combination! Our table right by the water was an excellent spot for people- and boat-watching while enjoying the afternoon sun. The bar looks nice inside as well, the restrooms are clean, and the staff is friendly. We didn’t eat this time, but the dishes at other tables looked good. There’s also live music on weekends. A really lovely place for a pint or two!
Heikki K — Google review
The service was decent; staff were friendly and attentive enough. Unfortunately, the food just didn’t live up to expectations. The burgers, in particular, were a big letdown: overcooked, lacking flavor. With such a prime location, it’s a shame the kitchen doesn’t match the atmosphere. Worth a visit for a drink and the view, but I’d skip the food.

We came here for breakfast on a weekend away and were pleasantly surprised. The eggs Benedict were fabulous, coffee spot on and all staff members were super helpful with prompt service. Would recommend. Thanks to Connor and your team.

Stopped by here for a drink on Wednesday 5th November. The staff were really friendly and efficient. You can bring your dog in, and when she saw ours she immediately came over with a bowl of water.

Recently visited and was immediately uncomfortable at the way some of the staff were being spoken to. I've never left a review before and I'm a real believer in encouraging independent business in Bristol which was why we found and wanted to try this venue. We swung by on our way to The Hippodrome but, after our experience so soon after walking in we decided we'd rather have an ale elsewhere. It's a shame as it seems like it could be a nice spot.

What can I can say? This place is absolutely amazing! Great atmosphere, great service and outstanding food. I can honestly say this was the best burger I have eaten for as long as I can remember. It is a shame that I am just visiting the city, otherwise I would be back regularly. I cannot recommend Burger Theory enough. If you are unsure about where to go, go there. You will not be disappointed. Check it out!

The food was absolutely amazing, probably the best burger I’ve had in Bristol. They were super accommodating with food changes and preferences. I booked a big table for a surprise birthday dinner and they were super helpful, we brought a cake for them to bring out with candles and they went the extra mile by decorating it for us. Cannot fault them!

I ordered this enormous Korean Fried Chicken burger hust for 13.99 together with coleslaw and soft drink. well all I can say about this food is I haven’t never eaten such a good burger in my whole life. Pricy but nice food. We went at lunch time and also got the Groupon voucher. The food was really good. We got the Sheriff burger, Mac and cheese croquettes (really recommend!) and the chicken bites which were too hot for me and I could only manage a couple. Still tasty though!

The restaurant's colorful interior is adorned with vibrant art and provides an upbeat atmosphere. The menu features a variety of traditional Japanese dishes such as sushi, ramen, teriyaki, donburi, tempura, wagyu beef, and soft bao buns.
Lovely, delivious food and athmosphere. Had the best warm salad with pak choi, tenderstem broccoli and pan-fried oyster mushrooms in sesame dressing. I also had a great black pork katsu. If I am ever back to Bristol, I will definitely visit again.

Very inconsistent - quite disappointed. The first time I visited Kibou, was a 5 star experience. The service was 10/10 and the food was amazing as displayed in the first picture. The second visit (no more than 2 weeks later) the quality seemed to have dropped dramatically. I was served by the same staff, I noticed the service was terrible compared to the first experience. I had ordered the same dish and the food quality/ presentation was appalling, as seen in the second photo. I was actually made to feel like I had done something wrong. I genuinely can't figure out the reason things were so different. If it wasn't such an important dinner, I'd have left. Won't be returning as I'm not sure how I'll be treated or what the food quality will be like. One thing for sure, is the prices will be the same regardless.

Kibou great take on Japanese cuisine in Clifton Bristol. Portion size here is slightly bigger than most restaurants of this type & the food was fresh tasting with it also being very well presented. Maybe we arrived early but we were put upstairs which seemed to be away from the main bar?? I don't know maybe diner's go upstairs? Service was great really but a little quick to remove plates literally as soon as we'd finished any course. Still 100% recommend

Honestly my new favourite restaurant! Came here for a nice meal out and I am still dreaming about the volcano roll!! The visit and food was beyond my expectations and for what it is, it’s worth the price. Loved all the food we had !! Drinks were lovely too- I loved the Yuyake. Think I would only want the music to be turned down a bit as sometimes it was hard to hear each other when the restaurant also got busier!

Lovely place to eat Japanese food in Bristol. The sushi mix platter was very tasty and fresh. My chirashi sushi had lots of toppings and ingredients. I would have prefers the the rice to be cool rather than warm.

Very tasty, but quite expensive! A great treat for a special occasion. I highly recommend their takoyaki - spicy, sweet, incredibly tasty, served at a great temperature! Staff were very attentive, and kindly discounted the bill when a dish arrived late. Free tiny paper cranes at the end of the meal!

Smiling and helpful staff, average food and atmosphere. Edamame with Black salt and dynamite prawns were good and tasty. Wakame salad and snow crab rolls were below average, mainly no taste. Maybe the worst wakame salad I’ve ever had (sorry to say but restaurant should renew this dish) Best roll was Bluefin Tuna which was tasty and worth to order. Also wasabi and pickles were at good quality.

Wowsers! Had an amazing meal here on Saturday on the outdoor terrace with my wife. Each dish was fantastic, I especially loved the courgette. Probably the best I've ever eaten. Save room for the desserts. They will blow your mind. Will definitely be going back. Great atmosphere. And the staff were all absolutely brilliant. Best meal out for a long time.

We visited the place for a casual drink and a chat. My friend had a small glass of house rosé, and I ordered a non-alcoholic mojito (which wasn’t on the menu, but the staff kindly offered to make it). The atmosphere was pleasant and the staff were friendly. When it came to paying, I was a little surprised by the bill. There was a %12.5 service charge and a £1 donation added, and my non-alcoholic mint drink with ice was £9. In total, it came to £20 for just two drinks, one of which had no alcohol. While I enjoyed the setting and service, I personally found the prices to be quite high for what we had.
Büşra O — Google review
Came here by chance for a meal. Reviews seemed good and the menu likewise. Immediately greeted on arrival, made to feel very welcome and given the menu. I chose the Ricotta Gnudi. Seemed reasonably priced at £16.50. Menus did recommend two plates but we thought that would be a bit excessive pricewise - £33 for a meal or more if we had the meat option. The 'meal' came as a small plate. After about four mouthfuls the 'meal' had all gone and still hungry. Would be small even as a starter. On the plus side food was delicious - the bit we had. So hence two stars rather then one. And the place - hardly a free seat in the restaurant and peaceful atmosphere. But the atmosphere doesn't satisfy hunger. Bill for two people for two small plates (as opposed to actual meals) plus soft drinks (£4.50 each) plus Focaccia bread came to £48. Then add on the table charge (12.5%) and the £1 charity donation (don't mind giving to charity but this was taken from our bank ac without any mention!) = £55. Had we had the recommended two plates - easily £80+. When we got home later that evening made myself a cheese and pickle sandwich as still hungry. Just as well we didn't have the wine - £34 for the cheapest bottle! In summary nice restaurant but frankly outrageous prices! Will not be returning,

We had a great time at Snobby's for a birthday celebration with 15 people. The owner Nick looked after us all night, alongside his friendly and helpful team. The space is tastefully styled yet relaxed and the food is just incredible! We had a selection of the whole menu which came on small sharing plates. The portions were generous and my personal highlights were the braised lamb and cured fish. Make sure you book before visiting to avoid disappointment!

Bianchis is a vibrant restaurant located in the bohemian Montpelier neighborhood of Bristol. It is the latest venture from the team behind Pasta Loco and Pasta Ripiena, situated on the original site of Bells Diner.
Delicious food at all times! Fresh pasta with amazing flavors and textures. Always at least 2 vegetarian options. Of everything I think the dessert is what always mesmerizes me the most (and I’m not a dessert person everywhere)! Always on point, not too sweet, bold flavors. Staff are always friendly and I find the atmosphere super cozy.

We had a truly incredible meal here last weekend. The service was flawless, attentive and thoughtful - they personalised our menus in honour of the birthday, which was an amazing touch. The food was gorgeous, the starters were fresh and light, the pastas were the best I’ve had outside of Italy and I couldn’t fault anything. Highly recommend for a special occasion!

We decided on this place due to many great reviews. The service was incredible, extremely attentive and very informative. The food however, I just didn't feel very impressed by it, the presentation of the food was good. We paid £140 for our meal, some of which we shared between us as we went for something off of each section of the menu. For my main meal I had the chicken thigh, I just didn't feel like it was worth it for what was on my plate and the way it tasted. You can tell everyone in the restaurant is very passionate which is lovely and the experience overall was great, just not to my tastes.

Discovered a wonderful Italian in Montpellier last night and very happy about it too. Great staff who were happy to natter whilst I was waiting and opine on dish selection. Food was to die for. A stunning alternative to a cosy Sunday roast, I had: - Bruschetta, smoked aubergine puree, ricotta and anchovies 🍽️ - Brixham boat catch of the day - mackerel 🍽️ - Tom had the grigliata mista of porchetta, chicken thigh and beef skirt in a ndjua glaze 🍽️ - the famous tiramisu 🍽️ I’m not sure how much longer the team are running the summer, so try and grab a table to try before we go into autumn 🍁 First time I’ve visited the old school Italian trattoria and it won’t be the last 👌🏻

I had dinner here yesterday for a friend's birthday. There were six of us. The waiter was attentive and professional. The food was delicious and well presented. Main meals cost approximately £20-30, but the quality is excellent. The menu was varied and they were happy to make adjustments for a vegetarian in our group. The restaurant was quite busy when we arrived at 7pm but there was a nice, inviting atmosphere.

We can’t thank Bianchis enough for providing the most amazing catering for our wedding at The Mount Without. From start to finish, everything was flawless. The food was absolutely outstanding – every single dish was packed with flavour, beautifully presented, and perfectly suited to the relaxed, joyful atmosphere of the day. All our guests are still talking about it – the sharing plates created such a lovely, communal feel, encouraging everyone to enjoy the meal together in a more informal and social way, which was exactly what we wanted. It was elegant without being stuffy, and felt like a true celebration of food and togetherness. The team at Bianchis were wonderful to work with – professional, thoughtful, and clearly passionate about what they do. They offered us a menu that felt personal and seasonal, and executed it flawlessly on the day. We honestly couldn't have asked for anything more. Bianchis made our wedding meal one of the most memorable parts of the entire day. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!

Flour & Ash, located in the Clifton area, is a popular spot known for its fresh wood-fired sourdough pizzas, small plates, cocktails, wine, craft beer and ciders. The pizzeria offers a variety of mouthwatering options including classic Margheritas and unique choices like maple glazed pineapple with Fior di latte or house meatballs with crispy Brussel sprouts.
Really enjoyed this so a shame to discover it’s closing down. I was only the person in there on a Friday lunchtime. I don’t know why as it was very good pizza, fast and friendly service and priced only at £10 including a soft drink and dip. It’s getting everything right from my point of view, but sadly for some reason it’s not working out and closing down for good.

A few interesting pizzas to be found here; a ham and pineapple (although it's not called that), a lamb pizza (never seen that before) and a Korean chicken style one. Had the last two which were both nice with the Korean having the edge. The deep fried lasagna bites were worth sharing also. Nice service and surroundings.

I know this is a pizza place but if you go - get the arancini!! They were absolutely delightful. Genuinely the best I've ever had. The rest of the food was very well seasoned and tasted good too. The salad was slightly underwhelming but overall had a lovely time and yummy well made food!

Visited on a quiet Tuesday lunch time with my daughter and had the £10 adults meal deal which includes a 9” inch Marg (I paid an extra quid for prosciutto), dip (I went for the pesto mayo) and any soft drink. Food all superb, their sourdough pizzas and faultless and I’m obsessed with the dips. Kids meal deal at £10 is slightly higher end but the pasta and ice cream were both demolished with relish so worth it! Kids do eat free with an adults main though (Sun to Friday) - so next time I’d pay for a 12” regular pizza and get the kids meal free, I was just a bit flappy yesterday and hadnt worked out which was better value! (Doh…) Marked slightly lower for atmosphere just because it was a bit empty in there when we visited, but I’ve been when it’s busier and it’s very ‘buzzy.’ We love the decor and vibe.

The staff at Flour & Ash are very friendly and attentive. The food arrived quickly and everything was delicious! We particularly liked the Arancini balls. We will definitely come back to try the rest of the menu!

Good experience overall. Nice food and good service. The arancini is amazing, definitely recommend getting this if you’re going. The risotto is also very good. Unfortunately, like other reviews mention, the pizza I got for my main was very soggy. It was so wet that everytime I picked up a slice everything just fell off, I had to eat it with a knife and fork. If the pizza’s could be made where they aren’t so soggy in the middle then this place would get 5/5 stars. Still finished strong though with some lovely desserts. The chocolate mousse was delicious and the panna cotta was even nicer!
Athena P — Google review
Delicious pizzas vs poor service...with near empty restaurant the food service management was poor, we waited for the drinks order with a near empty restaurant, then proceed to tell us they didn't had 3 things from the menu (a starter that I really wanted and 2 ingredients), we noticed a pizza had came out of oven for quite some time and was just there waiting to get cold...surprise the men on the table next to ours as soon as finished his starter the pizza came to him, we order a side and came at the end of our pizzas again poor timing. At the end I asked to take off service charge and the girl gave me an attitude. The pizzas are really great, loved the food but training is required
Pedro M — Google review
Wood fired Neapolitan style pizza and Italian dishes served in a comfortable setting. We enjoyed some massive olives and a pint to begin. The arancini starter had plenty of sauce under, which was nice and tasty. The Frito misto was excellent. The prawns were particularly crisp and delicious. We also shared the fennel sausage, truffle béchamel and leek pizza - it was well worth the trip up to Bristol for. Such a nice change to a tomato base. We would definitely come again as the food was so nice, with plenty of other dishes that looked worth trying. Service and atmosphere were also nice for a Saturday lunchtime.

Great place to hangout with friends. Food is good enough compared to the price. Service is good too. The bathroom could be cleaner and also a bit too cramped to go downstairs. Could be cleaner in general.

I visited The Grain Barge while exploring Bath and Bristol on a wider trip, and it turned out to be a great choice. The setting on the water makes it feel a bit different and adds to the charm straight away. The service was very good — quick, friendly, and efficient. I had a Chardonnay, a lager with lime cordial, and for food went with the lime-battered fish, chips, and mushy peas. The portion was ample, the quality was spot-on, and everything tasted fresh and well-prepared. Pricing was fair for both food and drinks, and with the combination of quick service, good food, and a lovely view from the barge, the whole experience felt like solid value. Overall, The Grain Barge delivered exactly what I was hoping for — a relaxed meal in a unique setting. I’d happily recommend it to anyone visiting Bristol, and I’d definitely return myself.

If we'd have come for drinks as usual it would've been be 5*. We actually travelled across Bristol to show the Grain Barge to a visitor. The food, with the exception of the beef burger, was dire. Crispy mushrooms were hard and dry but soggy at the bottom, fries were burnt, calamari strips were like comedy rubber chews. The barge is a wonderful venue and bar and the staff and service are top notch but the kitchen leaves a lot to be desired, and we left very disappointed.

I booked the Hold Bar for my wife's birthday party and cannot recommend this venue enough. All staff were attentive and helpful, setting up was simple and the venue have their own PA and lights so our DJ could just plug in. The atmosphere and views across the harbour are amazing and the food we ordered was absolutely spot-on, both in taste and that the venue provided all the plates, cutlery and so on. We popped in for lunch on a Tuesday visit to Bristol, we were warmly welcomed at the door and led to our table immediately. The place is beautiful and the staff were all very welcoming. It was a special occasion so I booked under a “birthday” booking. However staff didn’t really do anything for that and I was left quite disappointed. The food was decent and has a big portion. We came here last weekend from Devon to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary 8th November We had a table booked for a specific time, but took the off chance of arriving early, which was a good move as the restaurant got very busy at our original arrive time. My husband ordered pink bubbly 🍾 which made us laugh watching our waiter trying to open it, we all giggled Our food was orderd & we waited. We ordered the Frittura di Pesce Portifino (this was sadly the let down of our meal) very greasy & deep fried Scallops not good. We needed a while for our mains. I had the Beef Cheek (wow wow) I was expecting a small dish, not half a plate (its a large dish) it was absolutely amazing, tenderly cooked & so much flavour. My husband had the chicken supreme in a very rich cream sauce (sorry cant remember the name) With our mains we were never checked back on until we finished our meal (had to take the beef cheek home) We were offered dessert menus but sadly had to ask twice for them as they never arrived, when they did arrive we unfortunately changed our mind as it was too late. A fabulous evening & thank you 😊

Located in the charming Clifton Village, The Clifton Sausage offers a menu of classic British food, with a focus on juicy sausages served in various styles. This family-friendly spot is perfect for a proper English lunch, and even welcomes dogs. On the first Saturday of every month, diners can indulge in brunch with unlimited Prosecco, Bucks Fizz or Bloody Marys.
Booked here for Sunday lunch menu and I would definitely recommend. I had 2 starters as I was so hungry, the soup was delicious, it had that wonderful homemade feel and texture to it. The cheese soufflé was good, fun texture, but the flavour was a little bland, not as cheesy as I had anticipated. The roast itself was wonderful, my friend and I got the combo roast and our server Nicky was lovely enough to give us extra beef as we did not like turkey. The gravy was thick, flavourful. Personally I prefer my beef pink, but I was not disappointed! It was so tender, and so was the pork. The pork was amazing, so meaty, very little fat, and super tender, it passed the fork test. The sausage was a little lacklustre, quite salty, and a bit of a flat texture. Overall, it was delicious. My only disappointment was the service. Our server Nicky was lovely, but it was quite slow and at times, did not feel very attentive. We had to try to catch someone to get us another drink. However, I understand it’s Sunday and the restaurant was getting somewhat busy - good sign! If you want a chilled afternoon, not in a rush and good food. I would 100% recommend.

The Clifton sausages and champ were fresh and delicious. The broccoli was well seasoned and the hand cut chips were very crispy. I do recommend this place. Will be back soon 👏👏

Absolute gem to visit. While team is lovely, friendly and true embodiment of hospitality. Sausages are fantastic, quality, real food, actually made fresh, with exciting daily mash and other additions. Very friendly atmosphere. It's a true local business that cares about food.

An absolutely amazing experience at a Bristol institution. I hadn't been for about 10 years but recently visited as a big group for a friend's birthday lunch. The food was fantastic, service amazing, and can't fault anything. Highly recommended! And dog friendly to boot.

We liked it so much we visited twice during our stay in Bristol. The sausages are the best I've ever had; the Pork, Leek and Stilton are just sublime!
Mark W — Google review
Popped in one afternoon mid-week and received a very warm welcome by Sabrina (?). Lovely place with wooden tables. Menu looked interesting with a few classics, but the star was clearly the sausage. Shared a deep fried squid starter which was superb. Never had squid so tender and the batter was very tasty, too. My partner had the daily special black pudding mash and black pudding sausages. I went for champ and pork, leek, stilton sausages. Both dishes excellent. Puts bangers and mash to a whole new level! Very high quality bangers, lovely creamy mash and the gravy was almost black and full of flavour. Banging!!! (No pun intended 😜) Desserts didn't disappoint either so we left stuffed and happy.

I was looking forward to supper here on Saturday night. Unfortunately my experience was very mixed. Our waitress was charming and very helpful which was a positive. We then ordered our sausage and mash. We then waited….. And waited….. and waited. Eventually we had to get up and ask where our food was. We estimate we waited over 40 minutes! Not sure why this was - I expect pretty quick service when ordering the one dish a restaurant specialises in. Or at least bring kept informed re any delays. When the food did arrive it was mixed. Some of the sausages looked good - browned on outside etc. Others looked like they had been boiled rather than baked so they were white and not very appetising. The gravy and mash were delicious. To be fair to the restaurant, they took our drinks off the bill which was a lovely gesture and appreciated. I really hope and expect our experience was just a blip but I can’t be any more positive sadly. They always say a restaurant has to get the basics right and in this occasion they didn’t unfortunately.

We were recommended Clifton Sausage by a local and visited on a Sunday. The Sunday menu is fantastic because it offers all the sausage dishes in addition to a classic roast. Really reasonable prices for a set menu. Roast portion size and quality was delicious. A couple suggestions: Could the restaurant offer the option to mix and match your sausages to allow people to try more flavours? Add a side of custard to the crumble. Reasonable prices for a large glass of red as well (£8) Lovely meal and we will definitely be back.

Nestled in a charming former warehouse, Mud Dock Café offers a delightful escape with stunning river views. This vibrant café and bar is the perfect spot to unwind after an active day exploring Bristol. Whether you're enjoying a leisurely brunch featuring award-winning bacon baguettes or indulging in tapas and grilled dishes, there's something for everyone. The menu reflects global influences, making it an exceptional dining experience that goes beyond typical fare.
We recommend this place - especially if it’s a sunny or nice day. The deck is great with a view of the water, the service is fast and kind, and the food is excellent. They had gluten free options - their regular pancakes are naturally gluten free!

Perhaps it would be a good idea for me to phone ahead and inform cafés what I expect when I get there. The consumption of beverii (the new plural of beverage) is a personal thing. One man's..... person's nectar is another person's poison. The coffee was good 👍 in that it tasted very much of........ coffee. I'm getting obsessed with the pattern on top, the 'swirly', as I call it. This swirly was a half-bottomed (cleaned that one up) attempt by someone who doesn't know how important it is to me. Hence the phoning ahead comment. In mitigation the orange and almond cake was both orangey and almondy in equal measures however it failed in another qualification pertaining to my tastes. It was not moist. Not only do I like the word moist (moist, moistest, most moistest) but I also like my cakes to be moisty. Mmmmmmm..... moist. As in not dry. X out of ten, where X is a low number.

We had our wedding at the Mud Dock in September 2025. I cannot recommend this venue enough. Firstly, throughout the planning they were really responsive and Victoria was brilliant at advising and helping us plan the menu and decorations. They completely handled our set up and it looked stunning. Secondly, we didn't have to think about anything on the day - it just ran to plan! Thirdly, the food was gorgeous and really great with allergies. We were a little worried about it being enough when service started but but by the end everyone was stuffed. Finally, all the staff on the day were so nice and quick on the bar. They were also very gracious when we smashed quite a few glasses... We can't fault any of the day. We had 76 guests for food and another 15 in the evening. This was the perfect sized venue for that many people. If you book the Mud Dock (which you should) I would also recommend our DJ Dom Lawson, who was brilliant and just got himself all set up and sorted, and kept the dancefloor completely full until the end. Plus our incredible photographer, Matt Willis - the photos speak for themselves.

We had our wedding day at Mud Dock in July 2025. It was the most amazing day organised by the Mud dock team - from the initial communication and planning meetings to the day itself everything ran smoothly and the team were absolutely incredible. The food was delicious (we had vegan sharing plates) and there was so much of it. Thank you for an amazing wedding day! (Photos by @whencharliemethannah)

My husband, me and 2 dogs visited for breakfast on a Sunday morning. Wow! The place is amazing! The staff were kind, accommodating and supportive. It is very dog friendly not just dog tolerating but really dog friendly which is fab. 🥰 The food choices are great and I tried a vegan breakfast. Oh my goodness, the presentation was fab and it tasted beautiful! Scrambled tofu, soya sausage, baked beans, spinach, tomato, mushroom, farmhouse toast and vegan butter! I had orange juice which was fleshly squeezed oranges. Then I had some hot chocolate and carrot cake (takeaway). That was blinking gorgeous cake! I can't recommend this place highly enough! If you're in Bristol give it a try because it has food to suit all tastes. I will definitely be back again when I visit Bristol! Thanks Mud Dock cafe for looking after us! 🥰 xx

Italian restaurant
Pizza restaurant
Restaurant
Bosco Pizzeria, located in Bristol and with additional branches in Cheltenham and Bath, draws influence from both New York and Naples to create wood-fired pizzas that perfectly blend the puffy edges of Neapolitan dough with the crispness of American-style pizza. Founded by Miles Johnson in 2014, Bosco is inspired by Italian cooking and family dining culture.
This was our first time visiting this restaurant, though we have previously dined at their other location in Clifton near Prince Victoria Street. The setting is lovely, but let’s talk about the food. Some dishes were visually stunning and packed with flavor, while others were just okay. We tried the Carbonara, which I personally loved, though some of my family members weren’t as keen on it. For starters, we had the arancini, which were absolutely delicious. As for dessert—oh my God—the tiramisu was hands down the best I’ve had. It’s a bit fluffier than usual, but I loved it. Definitely a must-try! We also had the Italian donuts, which were very enjoyable. Service was decent but could use some improvement. One issue was the delay in receiving our dessert—it took quite a while after we ordered, which isn’t ideal. Ideally, desserts should arrive within 7-10 minutes to keep the dining experience smooth. Overall, I’d definitely recommend visiting, and whatever you do, don’t skip the tiramisu!
Chrysanthos ( — Google review
Discretionary service charge and now automatically adding charity donations on to the bill. When does this madness end? The service was average at best. No visit during my meal to ask for additional drinks, I had to go to the bar and request to pay my bill and also request a take away box to take home my remaining pizza. I’d ordinarily have sympathy but the place was about 10% full on a Friday afternoon with the staff having a good old chat behind the bar. I won’t be returning.
Gurminder P — Google review
Atmosphere and ambience was nice. Food was decent, nothing groundbreaking. My biggest gripe was the service. Took ages to get served. Asked for a glass of wine that never materialised and overall felt like service was a second thought. It just felt like they could've done with better organization. I did spot what appeared to be loads of takeaway orders so perhaps they we prioritizing that over people in the restaurant?
Adam B — Google review
We found the atmosphere and seating suited a group of women meeting up after years apart. Of course we chatted and the service was attentive and appropriate. We loved the food, with me reluctantly accepting that the doughnuts in custard (I don’t know its proper name) highly recommended by my daughters, was a step too far. I was too full. Many thanks and we’ll be back!
Anne C — Google review
We had received a recommendation for the venue from a friend who lives in Bristol and we weren't disappointed. The staff were friendly, the restaurant had a welcoming atmosphere and most importantly the food was excellent. Also the whole visit was great value for money. One member of staff was very friendly and helped us in picking something to do the following day as we were visiting the city for the fist time! Highly recommended.
Stuart S — Google review
As a Bristol local, I love this restaurant! A great selection of pizza, pasta and other options. The pizzas we had were amazing, especially the venetian and the Calabria! Very nice servers and a good vibe. I did not see any gluten or lactose free options but i think some of the salads are.
Lucy S — Google review
Sorry Bosco you were once my favourite go to, but after my food last night, disappointed. The Arancini can’t grumble about it’s a favourite but the pizza was burnt black on the base and crust, I do expect it to be crisp but not burnt and blackened. I ordered the Venetian with anchovies, I had 3 anchovies, it was greasy and just average ☹️ And looking around mine wasn’t the only one looking burnt. Also the puddings were presented terribly, a mouse on a plate instead of a small dish and a tiramisu without any layers, on a whole plate with no coffee taste. So with sadness my days of eating with you are no more .

So, so good. Food was absolutely full of flavour and incredible from starters, main to desert. Highly recommend the saltfish fritters, Croft fried chicken, ackee and saltfish, and to finish the Yard cake. Our best meal in Bristol in our 4 day trip.

Had an amazing experience at Caribbean Croft. The staff were super friendly and welcoming, which set the tone for a great visit. I ordered the jerk salmon, and it was absolutely spot on. Beautifully cooked, tender, and packed with that rich, smoky jerk flavour. The rice and peas were full of taste and complemented the salmon perfectly. You could really tell care went into every bite. I also had the mac n cheese, which was creamy and comforting. Paired with the chilli sauce they provided, it hit the spot. The heat and creaminess together were just perfect. The whole place has a lovely cultural vibe, celebrating the spirit and flavour of the Caribbean. You can feel the love for food and community in everything they serve.

Absolutely stunning Caribbean food. So glad I tried the Croft Combo dish as it included a mix of curry goat, BBQ chicken, and belly pork. The belly pork especially was unbelievable. Sides and extras were all spot-on too, festival, plantain, callaloo, rice & peas, everything was so good. Rum cocktails super tasty (and strong!!) too. Can't wait to visit again next time I'm in Bristol ❤️

Great chicken filler spicy and well grilled with nice soft core, a choice of salads to go with it and rice or chips to choose from. Mid price range but worth it. Just a nice add on is a free bottle of water provided at the entry and a bottle of home made hot sauce which tastes amazing. Highly recommend. Large choice of alcohol and soft drinks. The Olive Shed is a charming Mediterranean restaurant and tapas bar located on two floors, offering picturesque harbourside views. Despite its unassuming exterior, the interior exudes a relaxed and cozy atmosphere, complemented by bright interiors and waterfront vistas. The menu features a small yet diverse selection of top-notch Mediterranean dishes, including robust vegetarian options. Situated in Bristol's bustling Wapping Wharf area, this establishment is part of the vibrant culinary scene that the city has to offer.
This is my favourite restaurant in Bristol, especially during summer when they have the seafood specials. We went on Friday after work and it was super busy because it was sunny and everyone wanted to wine and dine near the harbour! However, they were able to get us a table outside as they’re first come first serve and I noticed that you really didn’t have to wait too long to get seated. We opted for the sea bass and some tapas dishes and honestly I can’t wait to go back again already. The seafood is 👌👌 I would personally recommend the bread and oil, the Chorizo and the Hake. My partner opted for the Seabass and he loved it, and it was a very generous portion. Probably be back in a few weeks when the sun makes a return! ☀️

We first tried to visit a couple of weeks ago but ended up leaving after sitting outside for 25 minutes without receiving menus. We decided to give it another go on a Friday night. This time, we were seated quickly and given menus, which was a much better start. When ordering, we tried to flag some dietary requirements, but the waitress mentioned she had a lot to remember and might need to come back. While we completely understand it was a busy evening, it did leave us feeling slightly odd. The food did not meet our expectations. The fries, at £7, were a very small portion with just a dusting of chili powder, and the charcuterie board felt more like something pre-packaged from a Tesco. The shin was tough, and the bread, when it eventually arrived, tasted a little stale. Oddly, the bread came after every other dish, and we had to ask for it. We also ordered hummus, which never arrived, but was still on the bill and had to be removed. In general the portions were really overpriced for low quality and quantity. It’s a lovely location with a lot of potential, but overall, it gave the impression of a spot that may rely on tourist footfall rather than returning customers.

Delicious and authentic flavours of the Med. A lovely spot by the harbour with friendly staff and great drinks. The white sangria was a hit and a fresh pint of local lager is always a winner. The jamón croquetas, lamb kofta with green tahini sauce and classic padrón peppers + patatas bravas were all delicious. Unfussy and letting the flavours do the work. If you had to chose between another well known Spanish influenced restaurant nearby and Olive Shed I can recommend the latter… wish I’d known sooner!

Exceptional food, service and vibe. Absolutely loved this place. I was expecting to enjoy the food and was spoilt for choice when I saw the menu, but I had my mind made up when I saw the nduja options. Honestly, the food was so good, so tasty. The simplicity of nduja on toast shouldn't be understated and the fritter, with eggs, avocado and pesto was glorious. It was a shame we weren't able to sit outside, but the downstairs layout is still really nice. Would highly recommend and can't wait to come back to Bristol to visit again.

My partner and I had the pleasure eating here 3 times during our stay in Clifton. We had a wonderful French waitress (I wish we caught her name) and Callum. Both provided excellent service. The food was immaculate. We highly suggest trying the arancini zafferano and arancini funghi though the latter is being taken off the menu which is such a shame! Both were our favorite. The mais frittelle was our second favorite. The food tasted as good as it looked and the pumpkin seeds sprinkled around really made tasteful presentation along with the chili jam that gave it a sweet but delightful kick to it. We also highly recommend the smoothies. And lastly but certainly not the least the Pannacotta was the most delicious dessert I’ve ever had. Didn’t care for the BLT, the bread ratio was too much and there wasn’t any mayo like the description. We also tried the egg purgatorio which was also delicious. There was another waitress with longer blonde hair who served us but she didn’t seem very happy to be there and took my partners mint tea pot away before she could finish it on our first day but other than that the staff and food was exceptional. Highly recommend.

Went for Sunday brunch. The layout and atmosphere of the restaurant is great and the service is friendly. The food took a while to come to the table, which normally I'd be fine with but as we had small children with us it was difficult to keep them occupied. The food was nice, though unfortunately my black pudding was overcooked/burnt. The use of foccicia in the cooked breakfast was excellent and the poached eggs were cooked to perfection.

We went to The Kensington Arms for their famous Sunday Roast for Chris' birthday! We were given the Blue Room which was a lovely cosy space. As we were a large group, we ordered of the party menu. Chris and I both went for the French onion soup with devilled short rib and Gruyer, followed by the Fennel brined Chew Magna pork belly, carrot and English mustard, roast potatoes, and Yorkshire pudding - I have never eaten pork belly so tender!! If visiting I definitely recommend the pork! For dessert, I went for a brownie and Chris opted for the creme brulee (I didn't manage to get photos of those)

A new favourite. Sunday Roast. Good food, good beer, good atmosphere. Just popped in but will go again.
Ding A — Google review
I love this place. There, I said it. I love this place. The Kensington in Cotham is the sort of pub you rarely find outside London these days — and even in London they're being squeezed out faster than a pint in Soho on a Friday. It's the holy grail of neighbourhood spots: a proper local with style, substance, a deftly pulled Guinness, and a wine list that doesn’t look like it was printed in the back of a Ladbrokes. There’s a guest beer on. Always a good sign. Not ten, not twelve, not the sort of barrage of IPA nonsense where every pint tastes like someone cleaned their bong in it — just one well-kept, rotating cask that makes you feel like you’re in on a secret. And the restaurant out back is actually, properly good. Thoughtfully done. Confident. The kind of thing that makes you lean over to your wife and say, mouth full of something beefy and delicious, “God, maybe we should move round here.” It’s that sort of place. It’s got that magic. You feel it in your bones — and your belly. But here’s the rub. And there’s always a rub. We arrived at 8pm on a Saturday night — peak time, peak mood, peak appetite. I was ready. I was primed. I had a Guinness in hand and the dreamy glow of a menu that does exactly what I want menus to do: stay the hell out of the way. Three starters. Three mains. Three sharer/chop-type things. Boom. That’s it. That’s how it should be. None of this laminated, twenty-page novella of mediocrity. I always say — and I do, with dreary repetition — that if a menu needs more than one page, you’re about to be served reheated despair in a ramekin. So when I saw this short, punchy, confident little line-up, I nearly kissed the waiter. But then came the heartbreak. They’d run out. Not just out of one thing, which you can sort of forgive if it’s an obscure cut of something foraged off a Welsh hill at dawn. But loads of things. A worrying amount of things. Unless I was going veggie (me? More likely to take up ballet) or my wife could be convinced to take on a hulking great Chateaubriand with me (less likely still — she once winced at a côte de boeuf for two like I’d suggested we hunt it ourselves), we were left with… cod or onglet. Now I like cod. And I adore onglet. But that’s not the point, is it? You can’t go into a restaurant with nine items on the menu and so many of them off. Not at 8pm. Not on a Saturday. That’s like showing up to the cinema and being told the projector’s knackered but they can act out the ending for you. It kills the momentum. It breaks the spell. Because the spell, here, is that The Kensington is quietly brilliant. That it’s run by people who care. That it’s the sort of place that gets it. And it still might be! I’m going to give it the benefit of the doubt, because I’m not a monster. And because I want this place to succeed. I want it to be great. I want it to be the kind of pub where you book dinner on a Tuesday and stumble out four hours later with half the room’s birthdays in your phone. But they’ve got to sort that kitchen out. If you’re going to do the lean menu thing — and yes please, do it — then you’ve got to back it up with stock, planning, and the ability to make it to closing without shrugging at guests like it’s a village fête and the cake stand’s been pillaged. That said, I’ll be back. Probably next week. Because I do love it. The Guinness is cold. The crowd is warm. And I can still taste that promise — the one that makes you Google house prices on the walk home.

Aaaaamazing Sunday Roast, it is not a cheap option but it is totally worth it! I went with my family and everyone said how good everything was. For the SR, It is a bit different, they had a menu: 2 courses £25 or 3 courses £31. The pork belly was insane!!! Very very good!! Crispy and juicy! The veggies were delicious. My parents ordered fish and they weren't less happy, they loved it too. We also ordered a bottle of white wine (this was nothing especial, I must say) Desserts were also delicious. Our main waiter (an English lad who spoke very good Spanish ;) couldn't be more efficient and nicer! I'd highly recommend this place! I thought I am going to start posting a photo of the toilet (a friend of mine used to say...how you see the restaurant's toilet is how you can expect the kitchen to be!! in this case? Very clean!)

Some of the best food I’ve had in Bristol! The potatoes were absolutely fantastic – a must-try. The jus was a little on the watery side, but the flavours were still spot on. Lovely, welcoming staff made the whole experience even better. I’ll definitely be coming back!

Great dining pub, but very expensive for what to get. £35 for a steak with just four leaves of salad and half a plate of chips is way overpriced. The steak lacked flavour, quite chewy and, although I ordered it medium rare, it arrived medium. Service was disappointing- we were asked about the food only after finishing, and they initially forgot to bring our drinks. Waiters passed by us multiple times without noticing we were still waiting for our drinks, until I finally had to asked for them. Additionally, charging an extra £1 for charity without informing us beforehand felt a bit unfair. We also asked to take the service charge off.

Restaurant
Pasta Loco is a popular Italian restaurant in Bristol known for its warm and casual ambiance. It has gained a strong reputation, leading to the expansion of its sister restaurants in the city. The restaurant's signature dish, belly pork carbonara, is highly recommended. Owned by cousins Ben Harvey and Dominic Borel, Pasta Loco has been recognized as the best pasta restaurant in the UK and awarded as the Best Restaurant in Bristol.
One of the best places to eat in Bristol - Always so impressed by this lovely little restaurant! I took my sister here for a belated birthday lunch and we both had such delicious meals. The staff are always so friendly and welcoming and food is just to die for. The restaurant is the perfect size - cozy but not cramped. I thought the portions might have been smaller if from the set course lunch time offer (insanely good price of 3 courses for £26!!!) but was very happy to see a standard size portion arrive. Fantastic wine list too! Would highly recommend!

Lovely birthday meal at Pasta Loco, with a special little touch on the menu for Birthday girl. The staff were delightful, they were personable and friendly and added to the positive experience. Whilst it's a no frills restaurant decor wise don't let this deceive you. The food was delicious - wonderfully different taste combinations when compared to your average Italian restaurant. Star removed for the long wait (we're talking months) to get a dinner, and even then an early dinner, reservation when there were numerous walk ins and a few empty tables when we left.

Amazing! That's all there is to say. This is a high class restaurant - reflected in price and quality. They didn't have explicit vegan options, but I called ahead and the chefs were kind enough to put together some creative courses, all of which were delicious. The staff were very friendly, and accomodating to everyone. The food was traditional Italian with a fancy modern twist. Really great place to go for a date or to take your parents.

To put this simply; A must visit! Food was extremely tasty! Staff were extremely Kind! Will definitely be visiting again! We visited as it was my moms last night in Bristol, so the staff customised the menu and added a goodbye note for her 😁

Our meal was outstanding. The menu changes very frequently as far as I can see, the date is on the menu. When we were almost finished the main course the server gave us delicious bread to lap up the last of the sauce. The staff were very enthusiastic and attentive. Chef altered the menu to suit my sister who has a gluten intolerance. My only disappointment was the glass that my espresso martini was served in wasn't a cocktail glass. Thank you Pasta Loco staff.

Wine is ok, but match pasta well. The starters are nice, will try rest next time. The hake and prawn linguine is amazing! Absolutely love it! Just bear one thing, the entrance on the left hand side and the door is sliding door…

This restaurant came highly recommended by friends. It is so popular that booking a table is usually weeks/months in advance. On this basis we booked the lunchtime slot. We weren’t disappointed. The staff are courteous and quick in providing drinks and food or any minor requests we had during our meal. I ordered the Spaghetti salsiccia carbonara with pork belly, mushrooms & pancetta wrapped egg and due to my dislike of soft eggs requested this to be removed. To my surprise I was provided with an additional piece of pork belly, which was a lovely touch. Now to book the evening meal.

Oo my gosh!!! First time I've been to this venue for a Raggea soul train. I had the best day EVER!!! The dj, promoter, Venue, music, vibes just everything was just on point. I can't put into words how happy I felt and it was worth travelling from Swansea, worth every penny.

Visited here on a Saturday for bottomless brunch with a group of friends, it’s a good location with a chilled vibe and seating inside and out, the balcony provides a good view in the sun. The service was the worst I’ve ever experienced in my life and I’m not joking. Drinks were left empty and we placed multiple orders with different staff that never arrived. On our food order allergies weren’t checked and when it was discussed staff were confused and obviously weren’t sure on what was allowed or not. Tables needed a wipe down and the toilets were like a swamp of urine. Food was good and everyone enjoyed it. Would I go back no I wouldn’t and I wouldn’t recommend the bottomless brunch as it clearly wasn’t bottomless. One member of staff was good, who acknowledged our drinks hadn’t been replenished for over half an hour.

It was an interesting experience, good music good ambiance, the bartender fabulous but it was marred by a group of about 7 old white men, all looked early 50’s…..these men were discussing in ear shot how I managed to arrive in the country and how I could afford to even be there quite rudely…..the icing on the cake was one of white old men justifying his behaviour by saying that the BBC is racist…isn’t that their national media corporation?? …Anyways, I had two amazing cocktails, enjoyed the view, danced a little and left. I will go there again for the service was great (will share an update), hopefully the table next to mine would be better human beings.

Came to bambalan randomly as we were local and hungry. Staff were so vibrant and happy from the moment we walked in. Seated really quickly on a Monday evening and was a nice chilled atmosphere. We only had an hour before we had to be off and was pleasantly surprised when food arrived with 15 minutes of ordering. It's anecdotal to some but both my wife and I agree that alongside our burgers were perfectly cooked fries. Crispy outters and fluffy inards just how we love em! Really enjoyed our meals and we're checked on and made to feel really welcomed and looked after! Thank you to the team for a lovely evening, regardless of how brief our visit was!

What a totally great find for a Sunday afternoon late lunch. Cool relaxing ambience in eclectic setting. Very friendly staff. What a lovely team. Veggie roast dinner had so many flavours and importantly not overcooked. In retrospect wish I'd have taken a photo as presentation and colour was utterly delightful. Delicious too. Great veggie find and would 100% return next time in Bristol.

Favourite roast in Bristol, great selection of options for the main (the seitan is our fav) and all the sides are always so tasty. The vegan roast costs the same as the veggie one but you don't get the yorkie, it would be good to either get an alternative or reduce the price of the vegan roast a tiny bit considering this. There isn't a vegan cauli cheese option, but I ordered a vegan Mac and cheese from the small plates which was amazing (my cheese eating partner said it was incredible too). Hoping this stays on the menu because it was a great combo! Or that a similar sauce can be used to offer a vegan cauli cheese option. **Edit** we returned this weekend (Nov 2025) and there was a vegan cauli cheese option, yay!

July 24 - why have we left it so long!? Again, super friendly helpful staff. Everything we ordered was delicious. Menu changes regularly, and staff can advise. Our favourite, smashed potatoes were slightly different but loved this variation. Sharing board was great. Heritage tomatoes, great. 2 different burgers, both great. Highly recommend the mushroom one (NOT a portobello mushroom) Everything was great! June 23 - Great attentive staff. Quite busy even at 5pm. But food arrived quickly, and every dish (6) was absolutely delicious. At this point, I would normally tell you about the vegetarian choices, but everything is either vegetarian or vegan. Spoilt for choice. Definitely going back.

OMG … A Definite One 2 Visit We had a wander around town for the afternoon and then headed over to try out our latest Vegan / Plant based restaurant find. The food was absolutely superb - Some of the tastiest food we’ve had in a long time at vegan restaurants. Many are good quality, this was excellent!! 👌 It would be nice to see slightly more attention to detail and also some more vegan options for cakes or desserts but otherwise a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon. Thank you.

Bristol institution in Stokes Croft with excellent veggie/vegan Sunday roasts. Highly recommend the seitan roast as my personal favourite, they have pretty good coffee as well. The ambience is very hipster and cosy, and service is very good. It's about 16£ for a roast which I think is a bit high for a meal, but definitely worth it.

Founded by Jim Pizer, who developed a love for Indian cuisine during his travels in the country, the restaurant started as a food truck at Glastonbury before expanding to three locations around Bristol. Had a lovely lunch here with my family, it was half term so busy. Had a bit of a wait but to be expected especially if food is freshly prepared. Very chilled comfortable place to hang out that’s good for families, singles, oldies etc. Great choice of delicious Indian food available to eat in or take out. Good service from friendly staff and excellent value for money, especially if you have one of the specials. Lots of choice for all dietary requirements. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area.

Omg I was travelling into Bristol to meet friends and thought it would be a great idea to order food to go ...which I did and I got notifications etc and a final email to say it was ready only to turn up and have to wait approximately an hour to actually get our take away!! If I knew there was such a long delay I wouldn't have ordered...if the communication was better we may have gone and come back or cancelled the order, in any case it's put me off going. The food however is really good 👍🏼

YUM! If you're looking for authentic Indian food go here! Very good and easily accessible for powerchairs/wheelchairs to get in. Unfortunately, they do not have an accessible disabled toilet as it has a step going up to it. It seems to be an old building though, so please be nice to them! Went for a birthday meal with some family last night, I was seriously impressed with seven lucky gods. The food for a start was incredible, as a 'tapas' style restaurants it comes out as it's ready which seemed to be quite quickly. This meant we started off with some and quite happily ordered more with the safe knowledge that it'd come while we were still eating. The staff were excellent, very kind and knew the menu well. Was offered a birthday drink, can't complain. Plenty of seating, some indoor and some out so book ahead if you want to sit inside. Highly recommend to anyone.

I visited the Japanese restaurant Seven Lucky Gods and was quite satisfied with the taste of the dishes. The fried potatoes were especially delicious – simply amazing. However, there are a few drawbacks. First of all, the menu doesn't indicate the portion sizes, which makes ordering a bit difficult, especially when you're with a group. Additionally, the portion size of some dishes doesn't match the price. For example, for £7, we received a very small piece of fish, which was a bit surprising. It would be great if the restaurant could address these issues. Also, keep in mind that the service charge is included in the bill. Otherwise, everything else was great – nice atmosphere and tasty food.

Really fancied a Sunday roast whilst visiting Bristol today & after reading the reviews, I decided to try here. It did not disappoint! My husband gamely finished off the whole plate but unfortunately didn't leave room for dessert...more for me 😁 We both had the pork belly, huge portions with 4 different veg & trimmings. Finished with a delicious berry pavlova. Staff couldn't have been nicer, everyone was friendly & efficient. We sat near to the kitchen which looks really clean & organised, no shouting or clanging pans & dishes. Highly recommended. I will be back next time we are in Bristol!

Thank you Harbour House for the most perfect wedding celebration meal. We organised at very short notice for a table of 10 and although unknowing it was booked for a wedding, we were welcomed and no request was too much trouble. Free bubbles was an extra special touch. Compliments the chef, the food was exceptional. We have very high standards and we were so thrilled how reasonable the pricing for such exceptional quality food. Everyone loved their meals, no issues at all. There was something for everyone. We adored the Burratta and Surf and Turf. Service was a high standard, cocktails off menu were catered to and nothing felt too much trouble. The venue was stunning and the whole experience exceeded our expectations. Thank you for making our wedding day a truly unforgettable experience! ❤️

Went here for Sunday roast at daughters recommendation, and I wasn't disappointed. Lovely surroundings and atmosphere, prompt service from great waiting staff. Roast dinner was excellent, beautifully seasoned, plentiful and tasty. Our party of 3 had different options of pork belly, lamb and chicken supreme all of which were super tasty. I'm often disappointed when I have a great meal then it's let down by the desserts but not here - absolutely scrumptious. Will definitely return to enjoy the views of the river on a sunnier day and have another great meal

Had an amazing Sunday roast today at this restaurant, where I used to work 15 years ago. Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for great food and a wonderful dining experience!

The service is always great, Lydia and Alex are lovely, attentive and helpful. The roast was underwhelming, I did check how the beef roast was served and was advised that it would be medium rare, it was served medium well done. The Yorkshire puddings were overcooked and the roast potatoes too large and undercooked. The cauliflower cheese however, was delicious. Disappointing food overall on this occasion but service is always great.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We just celebrated our wedding at Harbor House in Bristol, and it was nothing short of magical! From the moment we started planning to the last dance, everything was flawless. ALL of our guests raved about how good the food and staff were, and many have already said they want to go back to try it independently! The service staff were amazing, attentive without being intrusive, and made everyone feel so special. A huge shoutout to Ben, the boss, who was incredibly helpful at every stage, guiding us through the process with patience and expertise. Tim was phenomenal too, orchestrating the day like a pro! Everything on the schedule ran perfectly on time—the music transitions were seamless, entrances were dramatic and fun, and even the cake cutting was a highlight. Had to come to the highly rated Sri Lankan restaurant and there was no disappointment. Situated in the lively Stoke Croft area of Bristol. Massive warm welcome from the staff and slick and happy service throughout. Smashed through the watermelon and chili cocktails which were great. The columbo pork chops were sensational. We also had the marrow and a prawn curry. Rice and breads were great. Top atmosphere and nice decor. Reasonable prices too. Our French server was sound as anything and a pleasure of a time was had. Thanks very much indeed.

A fun little place with a pretty varied menu. From what I saw at other people's tables all the food looked good. The food I had was great, the black pork was especially rich. Otherwise the rice hoppers were totally different to what I expected and a genuinely good bew experience for me. Id totally go back and bring people with me. The cocktails were nice but not amazing. Overall, perhaps a little expensive, but its hard to tell at the moment with every price going higher.

From the minute we were welcomed in , without a reservation, to the minute we left, it was an amazing experience. I always think it’s a special restaurant when you can’t make the same thing at home, and the food we ordered was perfection. The menu is so well thought out and the drinks , even though we chose the non alcoholic ones (they do have alcoholic beverages) were so delicious. The service was top notch and everyone who worked there seemed to be happy to be there which is an important thing when dining anywhere. The people that bring you your food and cook your food have vibes that make for the overall experience and I must say it was a top notch experience and great food.

a wonderful mix of cuisines, and gorgeous cocktails! the staff were so lovely and took a picture of us, I would come back here in a heartbeat! a super friendly waitress served us, I didn't catch her name but she was a delight to chat with!

Great fusion of Indian and Chinese cuisine. We had the salt and pepper prawns and onion bhaji to start which were delicious. I highly recommend the Szechuan pork and the chicken chow mein received a glowing reception too. The pomegranate margarita was unreal too. Big shout out to Ned, our waiter who was really helpful.

Everything about this restaurant was exceptional — from the warm and inviting atmosphere to the perfectly curated music that set the mood. The service was attentive and friendly, making the whole dining experience feel special. The food was absolutely delicious — every dish was beautifully presented, flavorful, and served in generous portions. I especially loved the drinks; they were refreshing, well-balanced, and complemented the meal perfectly. I truly enjoyed every moment and would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a memorable dining experience.”

Excellent food, so very tasty and flavourful. The Peshwari naan was so amazing that we had to order an extra portion. The service was more than brilliant with lovely, chatty staff who answered any questions and were always on the ball ! A lovely birthday meal spent here, and we will be back again soon. Thank you very much ☺️.

The Crafty Cow is a cozy inn located on Gloucester Road, offering a traditional restaurant and bar with a welcoming atmosphere. The gastropub is the perfect spot to catch the Six Nations while enjoying a pint of beer and delicious pub grub like hog roast and wild boar sausage rolls. The menu features classic British dishes made with locally-sourced ingredients, such as cider-battered fish and chips or stilton and broccoli pie.
Enjoyed a beautiful today. I've been truly looking to eat at this establishment and wow, lets just say that I was not disappointed! I fancied a breakfast today and invited my friend out for a breakfast in Monte Carlos Cafè in Easton Bristol. Can I firstly take the opportunity to say that I had dined at the Cafè on a few occasions and really enjoyed the food and friendly atmosphere and vibes with a few friends in the past, but today was a different experience which left me and friend feeling really uncomfortable, embarrassed and unwelcome. We were asked to seat elsewhere in the cafè as we were only two dining rather than a party of however many who wanted to be seated, which I felt was unacceptable and then asked if we could move nearer to the wall. As my friend objected to be shoved against the wall, I felt it appropriate that we take our leave, rather than stay in an environment that clearly was not making us feel comfortable. We left, and made our way to the car, and quickly searched places to eat and my friend reminded me that I should tty the Crafty Cow as I'd mentioned this in the past. I called before arriving and was informed that although they take bookings, just to secure a place there were currently availability until a set time. We hastily drove up the Muller Road, parked at the back as the parking is free for it's customers and was greeted by an employee who warmly greeted us, enquired on our party of diners, had a breif scan and made us aware on the free places where we could be seated until reserved diners were expected. We took our seats, was offered a beverage, given a menu and left for a brief moment to decide on the menu and what we would select. I chose the Chicken Supreme, roasted with garlic & herbs, this came with stuffing, roast potatoes, parsnips, carrots, yorkshire pudding, gravy and served with seasonal vegetables to share. My friend opted for Hereford Topside of Beef. This was air dried hand carlved, slow roasted topside beef, served medium rare with caramelised shallots. The presentation was amazing, as was the service, meal which truly was out of this world. I was not expecting such a gourmet experience, but this was beautiful. Every fork lifted into my mouth gave me a tender, spiced experience that I was not expecting. This was marvellous. And at times my pallet tasted a hint of sutle ginger... ummm nooooice, yum As I ordered an elderflower Spritze, I mixed this with Southern Comfort, which was still ice cold when served earlier a Cappuccino, which was served in a cup, which came with a saucer. My friend ordered a peppermint tea, which was surprisingly served with a cup saucer and came with a teapot, but came Can I say that the food appeared to still hot for ages, as did the Cappuccino and seasonal veg. Maybe this was on account of the cookware was not cheap, but appearing insulated. After the meal the food must of been sooo hearty that I couldn't contain my glee, and let out a beautiful, announced belch, stored up from the food, it was like inviting those fragrances again into my body, and repetitively letting it out again, ahhh... Nooooice... I couldn't fit another thing in, but we couldn't leave without a dessert so I went for the sticky toffee pudding served with vanilla ice cream, and my friend had the ice cream on it's own. We were offered two complementary vodka shots, which was simply amazing. I will revisit on the week day to enjoy the experience all over again with something else. There is a garden space, which appeared to be huge, and clean as well as the whole area for dining and drinking area. 10/10 Customer service, warm & friendly 10/10 Beverages and food 10/10 overall experience

My favourite pub in Bristol! Always got lots of fun events on, like pub quiz, Eurovision nights or pumpkin carving for kids. Lovely outdoor space and even play big footy games! Such tasty food and lots of drink options. Highly recommend.

Second time for a Sunday lunch at the Crafty Cow, excellent service, lovely food and good value for money. What more can you ask for? Buzzy cozy atmosphere, managed well with our table of 8 on top of a packed pub. Will definitely be back 🥰

Are there and listened to a friends band. Excellent fries, being able to park very handy and loved the kids area for my daughter. Has a lot going for it, will happily return.

Kids area with sometimes tired but regularly replaced toys, very friendly staff with bar & table service ad hoc mix. The garden looks good but I haven't visited for that. Sunday roast is good and reasonably generous. Meat is always nicely done. Gravy tends to be quite salty. Overall a fantastic pub especially for visiting with under 8s

Booked to stay here before a Southmead Hospital admission-we were greeted by the very warm, friendly and kind host Rogan and staff who could not have been more welcoming and helpful. We had a very relaxing evening in the pub garden. Thank you to all those who work so hard and enthusiastically at the Crafty Cow making residents stay so enjoyable.

It was a nice place to hang out! Great garden I got some food and I'd say the chips were great when fresh and had all the right extras in the burger, it's just the beef patty that was a bit of a small crumbly dry thing which is a shame.
