Spiaggia Sassi Neri, also known as Black Rock Beach, is a picturesque and rustic destination located near the Conero mountain. The long stretch of coastline features clear blue waters and dark rocks that create a striking contrast with the sea. This natural beach is ideal for snorkeling due to its deep waters and is perfect for those seeking relaxation away from the crowds.
Beautiful beach with all necessary amenities - it has beach beds and umbrellas to rent, toilet, outdoor shower, snack & drink bar and a restaurant. A bit of a climb so best if you can grab a bus on the way back. There are also stairs at the very end to reach the beach so it won’t work for people that aren’t mobile.

Beach was good . After evening, it is being full of waves and there's no sun so be carefull! There's a bar nearby that is selling almost everything, but its nothing special. There's also a public transportation ( a gren bus) that can bring u from the beginning of the way down to the end and its all free, but be carefull, the last ride is at 18.30, so organise yourself in order to be at the bus stop around 18!!
Gianmaria A — Google review
This place is WOW!!! The rocks on the shore as you walk further down the beach aren’t slippery. Just the waves will get you a bit, other than that amazing view on the other side of the big pink rock. If you want to experience something unique and pink this is the place!

August 6. Arrived at the public parking area 12:15. Guard said parking is now closed and will open again 1 o’clock, luckily he opened again 12:40. €10 for the whole day. Two sunbeds with umbrella €24 or 26 if you also want the bus ticket back. Restaurant is available.
Kurt E — Google review
Really beautiful beach!!! The water is clear and there is a lot to see underwater for people interested in a bit of snorkeling. Clean and not overly full of people. From the city of Sirolo there is maybe 20 minutes on foot and a bit more to return, but it can be done by everyone (I had with me a friend that is the opposite of athletic and he was able to do it...grumbling but he did)
Anna B — Google review
'Sassi neri" is a renowned beach close to the Conero mountain and it's, for sure, a very nice place where to spend a day with a family or friends. But let's start from the beginning. After leaving your car in a parking you can choose between taking a bus or two different trails. First dirt road is not for children and not for unhealthy people. Don't take it also if you have only flip_flops because it's steep and dangerous. Second one is a normal road but steeper than the other. (If you take this solution you can also ask for bus service that cost 2 euro for the round trip) After 30 min (5 with bus) you will reach "sassi neri beach" a pleasant place sourrounded by green and lush vegetation with clear blue sea water. (for sure better than Emilia Romagna coast which is usually green). Down there, there is also a restaurant and few bars where to take a drink or a coffee. To conclude, Sassi Neri e San Michele is a very nice place but if you have altready been in Sardinia or Puglia or Sicily don't expect to find places like that. Cheers

Beach
Spiaggia San Michele is one of the stunning beaches in the area, offering a nice and tidy beach with coarse sand and small stones. Visitors can swim, sunbathe, or relax on the free areas or rent umbrellas and beach loungers for a fee. The beach is easily accessible by bus from Sirolo or nearby parking lots. It provides clear water with a pleasant temperature and offers free showers and toilets.
Grand panorama onto the Adriatic ensconced within the rich environment of a nature reserve. Soothing breezes, warm waters and the aroma of evening Italian cooking on the beach. Some of the finest ocean views anywhere. But this isn't just anywhere - it's Italy ...

Tourist trap. 11€ for parking, shuttle bus only if you eat at their restaurant. 30€ for sunbeds and umbrella. Sea is nice
Dimitry L — Google review
Nice beautiful beach. Easy to access on foot via the road in 12-15 min. Umbrela and 2 sunbeds 30 Eur. Clear blue water. Nice waves.only issue ia some small jelly fish creature, which is harmeless but anoying to touch and fell.(weird sensation)
Sabin B — Google review
Nice, tidy beach with coarse sand and small stones. There are a few free places where you can lie down with your own stuff. If you want, you can rent an umbrella/parasol and beach loungers, but they are rather expensive (min. 20€ per day). Showers and toilets are free to use. Best way to reach the beach is via Bus from the town of sirolo or one of the parking lots. Tickets are 1€ per person and trip. Water is clear (not heavily clouded) and had a pleasant temp.
Lukas B — Google review
Zero star... We tried to rent a kayak here. The quality of service was disappointing. The behavior of one of the employees was unacceptable. The woman was extremely rude and rigid, which made communication completely impossible. This type of behavior is unacceptable in the tourism industry. I definitely do not recommend this company. Choose the yellow kayak company in this beach
Erika H — Google review
It's beautiful. But ... there's no sand, it's all gravel and rocks. The water is very clean precisely because there is no sand. But ... just as you enter the water there's an immediate 3 foot drop off the shoreline. Getting to this Beach is also a pain: must park far away, walk 1/2 Mike, then take a shuttle bus. Summary: nice place to see, not great if your feet are sensitive or you're not a great swimmer.
Franco B — Google review
Really good beach, nice clear waters, the sunbeds are expensive(18 euros for two) so bring your own towel and umbrela, can be accessed by foot but it's quite steep to get there, or by bus 1 euro each way. Enjoy
Teo P — Google review
Nice but it gets shadow quite early in the afternoon and to reach it is quite a trek...also it does not have a good food option. The only kiosk only serves prepackaged sandwiches which are quite terrible....I liked Urbani beach much better (you can walk on the beach between the 2)

Nature & Parks
Spiaggia di Numana Alta is a stunning beach located in the ancient settlement of Numana, offering a spectacular view of the Adriatic Sea. The upper part features two pristine bays, Spiaggiola and Spiaggia del Frate, while the lower part boasts a vibrant tourist scene with a promenade, bike paths, and various beach attractions.
We spent several relaxing days at Spiaggiola in Numana, having booked two sunbeds and an umbrella. The beach itself is set in a stunning location—calm waters, scenic cliffs, and a peaceful atmosphere that makes it ideal for unwinding. The lido is well-managed by Maria Grazia, who clearly runs a tight ship. Everything was well-organized, dividing the beach in north and south with indication signs, from the sweet water showers to the changing rooms, bathrooms, and the on-site restaurant. It’s evident that guest comfort is a priority here. One small downside: the coveted first row of sunbeds was reserved for long-time returning guests, and although they remained mostly empty, they weren’t available to us. It’s a bit of a shame given the view from the front, but it didn’t detract too much from the overall experience. All in all, Spiaggiola offers a high-quality beach experience with excellent facilities and a beautiful setting. I’d definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Numana.

Not welcoming. Crowded. And because of the crowds it looks nothing like the idyllic pics you see here… rows and rows of people.

Spiaggia Urbani is part of the stunning beaches in Sirolo, including Spiaggia San Michele and Spiaggia Sassi Neri. Visitors can enjoy swimming, sunbathing, and relaxation. The area also offers the Monte Conero park for hiking and bird-watching. The town itself boasts historic buildings and streets to explore, along with local restaurants serving delicious seafood and traditional Italian dishes.
Beautiful beach with breathtaking view and very clear water. We have spent 1,5 month in the area and been there many times. Pretty crowded at weekends and definitely the biggest challenge is about parking. There are two parking lots one down with very few places so almost impossible to find space but even the other above is often full.
Gabor P — Google review
This is a wonderful beach. At this time of year it is super busy, so much so many of the car parks were full. The walk down is no biggie but save yourself the horror and take the bus up and not do it on foot. Got 2 chairs and an umbrella from Arthuros for €30 . Had a great day!
Vashudev M — Google review
Lovely place, must see if you're around! It takes about 10-15 min walk from the city centre (a path is quite steep). At the end of October it's a very quiet place, but there was still one sea food restaurant open on the beach.
Kamila T — Google review
Very cozy beach, a lot of space to sit and enjoy. The worst part is the hill. You have to walk a lot from the parking to the beach and even though the hike is designed esthetic, climbing back it's a lot harder.
Darian — Google review
Beautiful bay beach on the Riviera del Conro. The beach is very well-maintained and quiet. Particularly pleasant for swimming. Turquoise water and very clean. Showers and toilets are well-maintained. We will definitely be back again.
Reuma N — Google review
Finding a parking spot is very difficult on holidays and weekends but it's the best spot in the area. It's also free, and there are open showers there as well. If you park in the top parking spot be prepared to walk for a bit (stairs too)
Kosar M — Google review
The beaches in Sirolo are pretty. However, it is a lot of work to get to them and the sun goes down earlier here since Sirolo is basically on a cliff overlooking the beaches. We didn't mind hiking up and down the steep hills and stairs since we are athletic. We visited for a couple hours late in the day so we didn't bother getting chairs at the lido. Overall, the beach is clean and the green backdrop of the Conero is a beautiful contrast.

AZZURRA ENOTECA E TIPICITÀ MARCHIGIANE is a fantastic wine shop in Italy that offers an extensive variety of wines from the Le Marche region. They have an impressive selection, featuring both well-known brands and smaller, lesser-known producers. In addition to their diverse range of local wines, they also offer a great assortment of wines from other regions, including many famous labels. The prices are reasonable and the shop also offers unique selections of cheeses and cakes.
Helpful service with a great wine selection, they also have whiskey, rum, gin, and amaretto. They also have a selection of charcuterie, cheese, prepared fish and chilled wine.

Mountain peak
Monte Conero, also known as Mount Conero, is a stunning promontory located on the Adriatic coast just south of Ancona. It is the centerpiece of the Conero Park, a protected ecological area with 18 trails and numerous archaeological sites. Rising about 570 meters above sea level, this mountain is renowned for its berry trees and offers some of the best hiking tracks in the Ancona province, providing breathtaking panoramic views of the coastline.
My recommendation is to download an app called KOMOT there Isa lot of routes for hikers / bikers .we did a loop from this app in Sirolo and Monte conero and it was perfect!!!!
Reuven K — Google review
An enchanting and surprising place. Great for the seaside but also for hiking and natural beauties.
Elena G — Google review
A mountainous relief located on the Adriatic Sea, protruding from the coast. It is 572mt high and its tracks taking to the top are pretty shallow making it accessible to amateurs trekkers. The best way to have a full wandering experience on this mount is to start the hike at the Poggio (bus line 93). The path starting from there takes straight to the top -punto di vista-. Then, it’s just a stroll punctuated with breathtaking sights till a former convent. It you want to proceed farther, you can descend the valley to the beaches of Sirolo and Numana. You will be immersed in the green all along the way. Lovely and unforgettable experience.
Matteo C — Google review
Monte Conero, beautiful and majestic every season, in winter protects us from the cold northern winds that cause disturbances, creating a mild microclimate throughout the year. Nice to see it from the sea, as it protrudes this promontory in the Riviera, with fascinating beaches of different kinds, white stones, black stones, sand, gravel. It is easy to make a trip from the sea to see the 2 Sisters, two peaks on the sea, and it is easy to make excursions on the mountain, to enjoy the view. Climbing up the mountain there is Sirolo with its fantastic views, below there is numana with its port, from the opposite side to the north, above the wind, there is Portonovo a beautiful bay. I do not know what to say, the alleys of these villages full of very beautiful constructions, with breathtaking views, in continuous ups and downs. Simply Monte Conero.

Conero is the part of the Conero National Park and it is around 570 meter high from sea level; the mountain is famous for its berry trees. During my hiking trip through the narrow tracks on the hill in the month of November I collect few and the berries were very savory. Conero has the best hiking tracks in the Ancona province with beautiful panoramic views of the coast. The conero forest of the park is dense and vast, needs an experienced guide to go through the tracks to have a safe trip.

(Translated by Google) A corner of wonder suspended between sky and sea We visited Belvedere La Punta during a trip in April and were enchanted. Despite it not being high season, the place offered one of the most beautiful experiences of our stay in the Marche region. The belvedere overlooks a simply breathtaking stretch of coast, with a view that encompasses the Adriatic Sea from a privileged perspective. The green of the vegetation meets the intense blue of the water in a perfect contrast, capable of leaving even those most accustomed to seascapes speechless. It is reached by a short, pleasant walk along well-maintained paths and the scents of nature. Upon arrival, absolute peace: no traffic, no chaos, just the sound of the wind and the distant sea. A true oasis. The panoramic viewpoint is well-maintained, with several benches where you can sit and calmly enjoy the landscape, perhaps at sunset. It is a perfect place to relax, take some spectacular photos, or simply breathe in the beauty. We highly recommend it to anyone visiting the Ancona or Portonovo area: whether you're a couple, alone, or with your family, it's worth every step. And if you can, visit off-season: in April, we enjoyed a quiet and authentic atmosphere, with nature slowly awakening. A place that stays with you. Nestled near the Teatro Cortesi, the Torrione stands as a remarkable remnant of Sirolo's medieval past. This impressive watchtower, dating back to the 14th and 15th centuries, is one of only two surviving towers from the original fortress that once protected the town from pirate invasions. With its striking pointed arches marking the southern entrance to Sirolo, it offers visitors a glimpse into history through its well-preserved structure.

The Beach of the Two Sisters is a picturesque sandy and pebble beach known for its two large rock formations, offering visitors the perfect spot for swimming and sunbathing. This stunning coastline boasts white sand and crystal clear waters, reminiscent of the Caribbean. The beach has been awarded with a blue flag in 2019 and is named after the two prominent stacks that are popular photo spots on social media.
I went on June, 4th 2023. The water is cold, there is a lot of sun, so I went inside super fast. It was a little bit windy. The beach is clean. I left early because began raining around 2:30. All these days the rain has been like that. I rented 2 chairs and an umbrella for 25 euros. There is a restaurant on the beach, it was full. The beach is big and on one side is the mountain le due sorelle “two sisters”. The parking lot! Important this… Drive all the way inside close the mountain and park there. It’s the same price than the one at the beginning of the park. I didn’t know this and you have to walk more from the first parking.

We made last minute reservation to see how a turtles are released into the sea. Although we expected a lot more from this trip, for example at least more furthers, but there was only one. The experience was still amazing. The boat ride was fun and beautiful. A lot less people than usually due to COVID 19. The boat staff was helpful when getting off. When we arrived at the Beach of the two sisters, we had to climb down the ladder. This was fun! 😁👌Although this trip was planed to leave at 5pm, therefore we got no sun as we arrived on the beach. It was quite dark. The sun there leaves around 3pm. You can also plan to go to this beach in the morning and stay until afternoon in order to just enjoy a private view and swim.

Most beautiful place on the Adriatic coast on Italy ( in this region). Nice water, nice beach, perfect restraint. The only problem is it’s very difficult to park the car after 9 am from the end of may till middle of September!!! There is a public parking at the top, from where to walk about 20 minutes down.

A wonderful beach, though rather crowded. A pleasant boat trip from Numana, I found the 25-euro ticket a bit too high, but I guess a more popular fare would get the beach even more crowded.

Beautifull beach that is very quiet.. That is untill the boatload of tourists gets dumped on the beach. The tour boats ruined the place. Tip: Get there early before the boatload of tourists. When the boatload of tourists arrives just leave in the direction of Portonovo. There are a few beaches that are free off the boatload of tourists.

Nestled in the charming Piazza Vittorio Veneto, the Chiesa di San Nicolò di Bari is a stunning example of neoclassical architecture that dates back to 1732. This historic church not only serves as a spiritual haven for the community of Sirolo but also stands as a beacon for fishermen navigating the nearby waters. Its impressive bell tower rises majestically over the village, guiding both locals and visitors alike through its picturesque streets.
(Translated by Google) The Church and the Square of Sirolo This historic church of the community of Sirolo, in addition to being a support for the soul, was certainly, with its bell tower, a "lighthouse" for its fishermen. In fact, towering on the hill, it seems to guide those who are at sea but above all it welcomes anyone who passes by, inviting them to enter the alleys of this village. Over the years, part of the village has given way to the square in front with its tree-lined avenue. And it was an excellent choice because from here a unique seaside landscape opens up for this Riviera. Personally, I believe it has nothing to envy of the most famous square on Capri.

(Translated by Google) "Whose wife are you?" is the question that if no one asked you, you wouldn't be able to say you've been to Sirolo. After that, you can also visit this beautiful church, built in 1765 on the remains of a religious building from 1230. Since the Sirolo area constituted an important disembarkation point for ships crossing the Adriatic, the inhabitants of the small village convinced Pope Alexander IV (born Rinaldo dei Signori di Jenne), through Bishop Arnolfo, to dedicate a church to the Patron Saint of the Mediterranean as well as Protector of navigators, or to Saint Nicholas of Bari. Saint Nicholas, in life, was bishop of Myra, a city in Lycia, in Asia Minor, famous throughout the world for its miracles. 18th century - On the right side of the main front of the church, Pope Benedict 1765 - The church was rebuilt within the walls of the castle built by the Cortesi Counts in the 12th century and restored in the 14th century. The same ones who sold Sirolo to Ancona for the noble title...not so courteous after all. 1970-80 renovation of entire property. The structure of the church is made of load-bearing masonry. However, following the seismic events of 1972 the building suffered damage of a different nature and extent, which was restored with works which also involved the consolidation of the walls and the dome of the bell tower. 1991 - The renovation work on the bell tower, interrupted due to the small sums of money made available, was resumed. These works involved the rectory and the bell tower of which the intermediate floors and the access staircase to the bell tower were rebuilt; the door was replaced and the floor was redone. ARCHITECTURE - The construction is in neoclassical style. The plan is a Latin cross, characterized by pillars with Corinthian capitals, barrel-vaulted apse and transept and six side chapels with stucco decorations. The main façade is in exposed brick masonry, with a cornice and gable in overhanging shaped bricks and white Conero stone. The remaining perimeter walls are in exposed stone masonry. On the right side of the main front of the church stands the stone bell tower with an oriental-style dome. ART - The altarpiece depicts the Protector Saint Nicholas together with the Virgin with the Holy House of Loreto, on the right San Rocco, on the left Santa Eurosia. The work belongs to Giacomo Foschi da Loreto. Other icons: Saint Lucia, Saint Dominic, the Last Supper, the transit of Saint Joseph by unknown 19th century authors, the copy of a painting by Maratta, the copy of a Madonna and Child by Rubens. The wooden crucifix from the 16th century by unknown authors and the ancient organ from 1723, recently renovated, are interesting. On the pavement in front of the church we can see the fish mosaic: the symbol of Christ combined with that of Sirolo, whose coat of arms depicts "Campo di cielo, natural sea bass floating on a countryside of blue swelled with silver." The varolo, which in the Ancona dialect designates a sea bass, is considered a symbol of the town. This species of fish, which can reach up to ten kilos in weight and one meter in length, is particularly widespread among the ravines and cliffs of the coast of Mount Conero. ARCHITETTURA - La costruzione è in stile neoclassico.

(Translated by Google) A beautiful theatre!! The theater was built starting from the generous bequest of 5,320 lire by Alessandro Baldoni dated 8 October 1861. The nobleman's will was very clear: that sum was to be used solely for the construction of a new theatre, to replace the previous one. The undertaking immediately proved to be impressive, also because it was necessary to build a work of high artistic value, to be placed in a restricted area, avoiding the small dimensions of the previous structure, already aesthetically questionable and structurally precarious. However, the money in the hands of the municipality could not be used immediately as the will was contested by the branch of the indirect heirs of the Dionisi Vici who claimed ownership of it. The sentence of the Civil and Correctional Court of Macerata in 1866 in favor of the Municipality of Montecarotto. Only then was it possible to proceed with the establishment in 1867 of a commission for the preparation of a preliminary project which included technical tenders, the overall cost of the work, the location for the construction and measures to be implemented for the expropriation of the land for public utility. The designer of the work became the architect from Jesi Raffaele Grilli and the tender was won by the entrepreneur from Ancona Giuseppe Lanari. The works began in the spring of 1872 and, in full compliance with the delivery times, Lanari completed the wall structure on 8 March 1875. The paintings, artistic decorations and scenographic care followed, details completed in the summer of 1877 before testing and the declaration of usability of the complex. The first show took place on the following 8 September with the «Opera in Musica» Maria di Rohan by maestro Gaetano Donizetti (Original) Un bellissimo teatro!! l teatro è stato costruito a partire dal generoso lascito testamentario di 5.320 lire di Alessandro Baldoni datato 8 ottobre 1861.

Catholic church
Badia di San Pietro al Conero is a historic site with roots dating back to the Romanesque era, originally serving as a Benedictine hermitage and later transitioning to Camaldolese ownership. The church, which has been in existence since the early 11th century, underwent significant expansion and renovation during the 16th century. Situated in Ancona amidst walls, towers, and gates, this location offers breathtaking views of the sea and opportunities for leisurely hikes.
Beautiful spot. Can also hike a little. Amazing views over the sea. Loved my time there.

The Theater Alle Cave is a remarkable venue located within the beautiful surroundings of the Conero Regional Park. It boasts excellent acoustics and is easily accessible, with ample parking available right beneath the open-air theater. The car access road leading to it may be narrow, but it does not detract from the overall experience. Additionally, there is a restaurant just a short distance away that offers delicious cuisine.

(Translated by Google) The setting is beautiful, immersed in the greenery of the Conero park, it deserves 5 stars but you could see the deterioration of poor maintenance, a shame because it could be a flagship of Sirolo but as often happens in Italy the administrations are not capable, all around rusty irons of old stages and old structures are an eyesore in this wonderful place, I hope it is recovered (Original) Bella la cornice, immerso nel verde del parco del conero meriterebbe 5 stelle ma si vedeva il degrado di una mala manutenzione , peccato perche potrebbe essere un fiore all'occhiello di sirolo ma come succede spesso in itali le amministrazioni non sono capaci , tutto in torno ferri arrugginiti di vecchi palchi e vecchie strutture sono un pugno in un occhio in questo posto stupendo , spero che venga recuperato
