Before departing Ballybunion, it is recommended to contact Clare Mulvihill to confirm the receipt of the money left under the seaweed baths' door. Collins' baths possess a delightful old-fashioned appeal and are situated right on Lady's Beach in Ballybunnion, acknowledged as one of Europe's finest beaches as per a recent Guardian article.
A seaweed bath is a unique experience. I was skeptical but it was very relaxing. I highly recommend
Tim M — Google review
The best experience, with waves crashing outside. Bliss.
Liam K — Google review
Lovely relaxed place for a seaweed bath. - right on the beach. Takeaway tea and coffee also available.
Joanne H — Google review
I brought my little cousin to the seaweed baths but not before we chose two different tea's from the shop attached to bring in with us. We were give simple instructions in the beginning about rubbing in the seaweed and controling the temp of the bath which were great tips and made the experience so enjoyable. Would highly recommend and can't wait myself to go back again.
Sinead K — Google review
Collins' baths have an old world charm and are located right on Lady's Beach in Ballybunnion, one of the best beaches in Europe (according to a recent Guardian article). I feel wonderful after a seaweed bath and go every year in September when apparently the seaweed offers the most health benefits. As part of the experience some people go directly from the baths to swim in the sea. Bathers swim on this beach all year round.
Ed O — Google review
Seriously one of my favorite things I did while visiting this area. What a unique experience I will treasure. Excellent service, relaxing and I will do it again the next time I travel to Ireland.

Our little girl of two dropped her ice cream and the staff very kindly gave her another 😍 without charge. We had two lattes to take away which were very nice 👍. Beautiful staff 💞

Nestled along the captivating north-west coast of County Kerry, Ballybunion Golf Club is a renowned destination offering two exceptional links golf courses. The Old Course presents a thrilling and demanding experience with its imposing sand dunes, while the Trent Jones Cashen Course challenges golfers with narrow fairways and hilly terrain. Having hosted the Murphys Irish Open in 2000, both courses are highly acclaimed and consistently rank among the world's top ten.
The best of the best. I have been lucky enough to play most of the great courses in the Republic of Ireland and for me Ballybunion is the best of them all. The course has amazing views, great elevation changes and some of the best green complexes anywhere. The staff there is kind and courteous, which you don't always get at a premier course and I have heard that they have upgraded the practice facility since I was last there. Ballybunion in pure class and I would recommend it to anyone wanting to play a bucket list course.
Joe F — Google review
Every golf destination should use Ballybunion as a template for what quality service looks like. I was greeted and spoken to by name from the front entrance, the practice facilities were the best I’ve ever encountered, and the light breakfast before my round was impeccable. The round itself was in its own league, inexplicably beautiful property made even more enjoyable by the guidance and general chit chat with my caddy, Morris. Amazing lunch menu and well poured Guinness. Worth coming from Australia just for today, thanks to all the staff involved.
Michael A — Google review
It’s hard to describe the size of the dunes. They are magnificent. The course is big but playable. Beautiful scenery. Wonderful golf holes. For my money, on the shortlist for greatest course in the world. A personal favorite.
Niko R — Google review
My favourite, some amazing holes, 11th/16th, great par 3s, putted off the greens on one, hybrid putting off the green a few times, good food and drinks and friendly staff, like the nice touch of the golf card folder souvenir
Boon K — Google review
Loved this course—it was the toughest of the five we played, but I truly appreciated the entire experience provided by the course staff. From the ball marker and score card holder given upon arrival to the excellent practice facilities, pro shop, and the course itself, everything was top-notch. This is a special experience, and they make sure you know it.
Kevin — Google review
What an amazing course. Rich with history. Beautifully maintained and the people working there were great. I can't explain being able to play my dad's favorite course he ever played two years after he passed. I will say I am very disappointed in the rental clubs available. They had many months to let me know that the clubs I requested wouldn't be available when I got there. To have to play graphite shafted regular shaft clubs for a once in a lifetime course, I was incredibly disappointed. I would have brought my clubs had they just been upfront with me about the type of clubs they had available. Being a lefty I have come to expect this, but I asked several times, so they had a chance to tell me. That was incredibly disappointing.
John D — Google review
As a former junior member, it was a privilege to return. The course hasn’t changed. Exquisite, difficult but satisfying. Green fees are very expensive and out of reach for many people. It would be great to have a round cheaper but I guess that’s the American market pushing them up . Oh well.
Kevin P — Google review
A beautiful course with very courteous staff. We took one fore-caddy, Paddy, who added a great deal to our enjoyment. The course is very difficult; stay in the fairways at all costs.

Beach
Ballybunion Beach is a picturesque coastal spot in the village of Ballybunion, Kerry. Divided into Men's Beach and Ladies Beach by steep cliffs, it offers stunning panoramas and is perfect for leisurely walks with breathtaking views over Loop Head. The beach is also known for its association with the former President of the United States, Bill Clinton.
My cousin and I are visiting from UK and Australia - visiting old haunts. We went to this beach when we were kids. Facilities at the top before you walk down. Well worth a visit. Local parking also.
Mike M — Google review
It’s a lovely beach, no question about that. But if you are a loner like me - avoid that beach at all cost during the summer. Too many people there. Holiday hot spot. I get it. The town is cute, the food is lovely, the beach is stunning. But… yeah… too many people during the holiday season 🙈
Fairy D — Google review
Wonderful clean beach here in town. Lots of place to sit and lots of places to park your car as well. Highly recommended visit!
Jean-Francois L — Google review
A great place to go with your family. There isn't much parking especially in the summer but it is definitely worth to visit. It is a safe place to go for a swim, a walk or to get out of the house. There is a good view from the shore on a fine day. This is a big, fantastic beach along with cliffs to visit.
Samanta S — Google review
The beach of my childhood. Nothing seems to have changed in 20 years, which I guess is a good thing. The setting is stunning.
Algwins — Google review
Great location for a dip, a gentle walk or a simple relaxing seat by the sea. Very clean beach, maned with lifeguards, both Ladies beach & man’s beach have a little area where there’s shelter & place to change, wash the sand of your feet. Plenty of space on both beaches for the whole family. Dog friendly.
Margaret N — Google review

Ballybunion Castle is a historic site situated on a hill, offering breathtaking views of the town and ocean. While access to the castle itself is restricted, visitors can enjoy the stunning scenery from the castle grounds. The area also boasts a lovely beach with paved walking trails, making it perfect for leisurely strolls. Additionally, there are facilities such as toilets and convenience shops nearby. The town features charming Irish pubs and family-friendly amusements, adding to its appeal.
Fond memories of summer holidays here 60 years ago, nothing has changed apart from the Castle hotel is long since demolished. One of the best strands in the world.
David O — Google review
I love this area it's so calming. The waves of atlantic along with the colours and the ruins of the castle make an ideal place for peace
R. K — Google review
Interesting Castle, but the Beach and view are spectacular!! 15mph wind off the Atlantic, nice walk.
John D — Google review
Its not complete but if you use your imagination you can conjure up its past life. Impressive coastal backdrop with cliffs and long stretches of sand. Handy to town and there are public toilets onsite. Like I say its not complete and there are better examples but still its worth the viewing.
Kevin M — Google review
All that is leftover is this wall in ruins which however gives the travelers immense room of imagination. The mesmerizing sunset and the unfolding clouds over the vast ocean at this spot is awe-inspiring.
Yulan Z — Google review
Fantastic ace, amazing waves for surfers, beginners like me. The beach is very clean and keep it that way good for family walks and dog walking, morning jogging or just sun bathe if weather permitting.
Katarzyna O — Google review
Its free, but there is only one wall left. On a stunning beach. It sits atop some nice rock formations. Parking is free nearby. A good quick stop off within the town of you need to restock amd refresh grab lunch or a pint etc.
Simon M — Google review
Went at night, looks really pretty. Later you go the less people that are there. Nice vantage point.

Nuns Beach, located in North Kerry, is often described as one of the most stunning beaches in the area due to its natural beauty and remote location. Accessible via a rope climb, visitors should be cautious of changing tides when planning their visit. The beach offers a picturesque cliff walk with breathtaking views and benches for relaxation. While parking may be limited, nearby eateries provide convenient dining options for beachgoers.
beautiful place that I can not describe in words. the most beautiful beach in all of Ireland A long walk along the cliffs You definitely need to visit this place. I will definitely go back there. 1000/10
Celina S — Google review
The rope to the beach is around where the gravel/stones are in my photo. Watch tides & beach careful. We avoided for safety reasons as we were with our toddler. Sea caves just south + the beautiful sea arch Virgin Rock just in front of the beach! Sept 2024
A ( — Google review
Most stunning landscape in the area! The cliffs are awe inspiring. Parking is tricky and you'll probably need to walk down/up a steep road, but worth it!!!
Brian W — Google review
This is a beautiful hidden beach. You can climb down from a rope and access this beach. But be mindful of the high tides and the low tides. You can only climb down and enjoy this beach during a low tide. There is also a beautiful cliff walk you can do which has such spectacular views. Can't wait to go back during summers to take a dip in the beach The town itself offers good food and ice creams.
Kajal S — Google review
Amazing trail along the beach and really good view points on your way. Nice set up benches on your trail so you can enjoy your view. Preferred to be here on a sunny day so the view is much more clearer and brighter. We tried to find how to get to the beach but couldn't. The view will be worth your while. Enjoy the trail, there wasn't parking available so we had parked in the bearby laneway.
Amal B — Google review
Love the cliff walk to here. Note part is close off at the moment. The sea arch here is my favourite 😍

Excellent setting seating for 500 but standards have fallen and not open very often. Over reliance on voluntary staff. Great local amenity but slowly slipping into disrepair. Local schools and groups often have shows at the theatre and some bigger acts over the summer.

We had a lovely stay in the Marine Hotel. We didn’t use the cafe but it was very busy when we were there so obviously a choice for many a local and tourist alike. The rooms were well decorated and the bed was very comfortable. The shower was impressive too. All in all would highly recommend

A Little Slice of Seaside Heaven in Ballybunion! From the moment we arrived at this charming seaside hotel we felt like we were being welcomed home. The staff couldn’t have been more friendly. Our room was spotless and beautifully cozy, and had views of the ever-changing light over the Atlantic. The on-site bakery is another level- absolutely delicious fresh sandwiches, cakes and pastries. The coffee was excellent too, and always served with a smile. The location is unbeatable, just a short stroll to the beach. Already dreaming about our next visit. Five stars from us three. Xxx

We have just returned from a fabulous trip to Ballybunion Co. Kerry. Derek & all at The Marine were so friendly, welcoming & helpful with any questions we had. Also great recommendations for dinning & reserved a table for us at a nearby restaurant. Derek & the team had a lovely surprise for us, upon arrival we had being upgraded to a superior room with a very sweet note & box of gorgeous chocolates. What a way to celebrate 21 years of marriage. Great location, magical views & delicious bakery. We will be back & for longer on our next visit.

Historic Walking Areas
Bromore Cliffs, located just past the town of Waterville in Ireland, are a hidden gem offering stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean. The area is well-maintained and features marked trails with information about the cliffs, waterfalls, caves, and sea stacks. Visitors can also enjoy a restored lookout post from World War II. The owner, Mike, warmly welcomes guests and shares interesting stories about the area and its wildlife.
What a fantastic place. The views are amazing. €5.00 for car park is so worth it. Mike the owner is a wonderful friendly man who has loads of stories to do with the cliffs. My husband and I could not but sing about this place. Please please do visit Bromore cliffs you won't be disappointed.
Freda C — Google review
My husband had this marked as a stop on our trip. We were greeted by Mike who owns the property - he was a wealth of knowledge and gave us the scoop on the cliffs and sights - a lovely man. We only did half of the walk which was very easy and truly beautiful. Cliffs, rock formations, nesting gulls, wildflowers, WWII outlook post and more. We were a bit pressed for time or we'd have done the full walk. Really worth the side trip.
Shawn B — Google review
Mike the owner of the land is a friendly helpful guide to the natural wonders along this stretch of the coast. It is well with the 5€ parking fee. The coastal cliffs, stacks, caves and waterfalls are well worth it along the wind swift pathways. He allowed us to stay in our van after seeing the sites to have our lunch and a cuppa.
Mal J — Google review
Really cool cliffs and a nice walk. There is a beautiful horse that greets you in the beginning of the walk. The path is marked well and a nice barrier between you and the edge. 5 Euro per car. It is quite windy but very cool. I would recommend planning at least an hour.
Jacqueline H — Google review
Lovely man who owns the farm property provided and overview of the layout. Gorgeous walk, great informational placards and COWS & calves that came up to the fence to say hello.
Patrick B — Google review
Ignore all the negative comments on the reviews. I have travelled all around Ireland and been to Cliffs of Moher 3 times, this experience is not to be missed and is better, try and get there around sunset. For 5 euros what is there to complain about? A lot of signs here with interesting information and the path is very safe. We watched seals swimming in the crystal clear waters, watched the starlings come back to the caves and had a friendly chat with Mike the farmer, no issues. I expect issues arise from people trying not to pat 5 euros? Anyway the pictures that I posted do not do the place any justice you just have to experience it. My partner and I had the place to ourselves which is better than the hordes of people you have to deal with at the overpriced Cliffs of Moher.
David J — Google review
This was an unexpectedly awesome experience—especially meeting the landowner and his horse. A must-watch!"
Sobin S — Google review
Outstanding place to visit. The owner, Mike, has put a huge amount of effort to create a good environment to enjoy this spectacular location. Small exhibits along the way give all sorts of information about the cliffs, the geology and some of their history. I particularly enjoyed the story of the stricken Norwegian sailing ship which came to grief on the cliffs. Amazing value for only £5. Ignore the bad reviews , which indicate more about the reviewer than this lovely place and its helpful and gentlemanly owner.
