Where to eat: the 25 best restaurants in Cahersiveen

Fabulous clean rooms with lots of space, charm and information. Breakfast was lovely in the room and fresh pastries delivered in the morning. Would recommend. We didn't manage to get a booking for food as the restaurant was fully booked but had a lovely meal nearby. Staff were welcoming helpful and friendly. Great for a couples get away or a traveller looking for some comforts.

This review is for the restaurant not the hotel. We were passing by town and wanted to have dinner. We arrived to the restaurant, the server asked if we had a reservation, and we said no. Then he offered that we could seat at the bar which we gladly accepted. We ordered promptly and this is where it started going downhill. After about 30 minutes, we got rhe starter we ordered and the we had to wait a total of 90 minutes to get the food! We were almost standing up to leave. The food was OK but making customers wait 90 mins is UNACCEPTABLE. What made it worse is the manager: She came in and we politely told her food was good but the wait was unacceptable. Instead of making it up to us she BLAMED us for their POOR service stating: “You had no reservation and our kitchen is fully booked with the reserved tables”. If your kitchen cannot handle walk ins, why did you let us in? If your kitchen needs to make walk in customers wait 90 minutes to be served, how about you TELL those customers before seating them? This is the first time ever that a restaurant blames the customers for their own lack of kitchen capacity and poor service! Avoid this restaurant at all costs, they will mistreat you.

My wife and I stayed recently for our golden wedding anniversary and had a wonderful experience. The room ( Barr na Sraide) was excellent, the breakfast innovative and delicious and the meal in the restaurant outstanding. We have eaten in some of the best restaurants in Ireland, the UK and Europe and our meal on Saturday was easily in the top bracket. The presentation was excellent, the flavours outstanding and the service easily reached the same standards. All superbly orchestrated by Anthony and the very talented kitchen team. A total success on this special occasion. We are already looking forward to our next visit.

We came on a rainy day without a reservation and were lucky to get seated, even if it was at a tiny table. The staff went above and beyond by moving us to a larger one once it opened up. I had the ribeye, which was fine on its own but excellent with the sauce, easily a 5/5. My girlfriend’s salmon spaghetti was the real highlight. Definitely order that if you get a table here. My only complaint is that the food takes a really long time.

My friend and I stayed here on a "Ring of Kerry" booked tour, and we both agreed that this was one of our favorite spots. It's not the most ultra-luxurious in some ways, but it hit all of the right notes for us - clean, charming, a lovely property, but most of all, superb staff and the MOST delicious food. The owner comes from a family that fishes and her brother owns the fresh fish shop across the way - hence, the freshest seafood I had in Ireland. The mussels were so good we had to order a second plate. The food is not limited to the restaurant: the morning breakfast supplied to each room involves fresh croissant and pain aux raisins brought to your door, the most sumptuous yoghurt and rhubarb compote in the fridge (I ate both), smoked salmon and a lovely brie cheese. In short, nothing was lacking and the place had the most charm and care of anywhere we went. Would definitely go back.

Omg you want a great place to stay then stay here. They are super nice and the rooms are awesome. It does depend on the room for the size and amenities but we had 2 rooms and both were super nice and the staff was attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. I just wish we had time to stay longer. Totally worth it. Even had great shopping close by.

I had the Guinness stew at Fertha Bar & Restaurant, and it was absolutely incredible! The meat was tender, the sauce was rich and full of flavour, and you could really taste the depth the Guinness added. It was the perfect comfort food, and you can tell the chef did an excellent job—every bite was delicious. What really surprised me was the portion size. It was very generous, especially for the price, which makes it not only tasty but also great value. The atmosphere in the restaurant was warm and welcoming, and the staff were absolutely lovely—friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience even better. I’ll definitely be coming back. Highly recommend if you’re in Cahersiveen and want a hearty, satisfying meal!

It was a quite Thursday afternoon when we visited but the food was very nice. I got bacon and cabbage (very tasty) my husband had pork and my son had chicken nuggets and chips. The service was good, the food was good. The toilets were clean. Happy out.

A wonderful cost traditional Irishpub. Dropped in for lunch during our travels through Kerry. Service was great. The food was exceptional. Fish and chips we're the best we'd had during our time abroad. Cottage pie was delicious.

Stopped on our way around the ring of Kerry and had some great food (absolutely delicious lamb stew) in some lovely company!

Came in with a group on the 3rd of September and they were so amazing. The food is so good. The place is so cozy and they took great care of us.

We waited for ages while others, who arrived way after us, got their drinks and food instantly. Our food was ok, but both dishes tasted like there was loads of glutamat (soup cubes) in them. At least staff was very friendly.

Was here last week with my family and the food was absolutely amazing, the staff are a credit to the place in particular the girl and boy with blonde hair they were extremely friendly and kind and struck up conversation with my little girl, would recommend stopping off here for a bite and for all your essentials as it is located in a small , nice and well stocked supermarket, will be returning to try out items from their gourmet menu this weekend. 5 out of 5 stars from me

I tried to place an order both online and in-store around 9 PM, but it wasn’t accepted, even though the info provided said it was open. I had to drive over an hour to find another place to eat. Please update the information to avoid this for others

Fantastic pizza and the attached Chipper is a hidden gem with some of the best burgers or fish & chips I've had in my life. Can't recommend enough for quick quality takeaway

The staff here are a credit to the place in particular the foreign accent man you can clearly see he has a great passion for his job and the pizza's were the best we had very well made and really fresh ingredients overall a very impressive place

Really neat spot with good pizza - loved the blue peach! A bit busy, we were able to walk in as a group of two but bigger would've been harder. Big enough you could share one pizza for two.

A beautiful find on our tour of the Ring of Kerry! The ambiance in the restaurant is lovely, with so many different details linked to the many different seasons of the building's history. Food was delicious, and served really quickly. The half and half pizza offering was ideal for our 2 children to share. Limited range of desserts - that didn't bother us as were not great dessert eaters when eating out, but if you are a dessert lover, you may want to look elsewhere!

This isn’t our first visit (it’s now our third) and it certainly wasn’t disappointing yet again. The pizza toppings are amazing, the service is efficient and friendly, and their wine selection is nice as well. The church’s interior just adds to the experience. I highly recommend it!

Great pizza selection and nicely situated eatery in an old church, keeping many of the original features. Pizzas were light and made to order - recommend for those nights when a pizza and glass of wine or beer is just what you fancy!

Found this gem of a restaurant last minute online whilst visiting the Skelligs islands. Not too busy on a Tuesday evening. Moderately priced. The 50:50, 1/2 pizza was a good shout. The crab and peaches pizza was scrumptious. The setting was great in a church. Service was mediocre. Served the food and that’s about it. Aperol Spritz was great! A memorable experience of an eatery. Nice to see these buildings being used for another purpose and not let them go derelict.

I don't understand the hype on this site. Everyone recommends it and it supposedly has the best pizza in Kerry. But for me it's not worth it. The pizza dough is too thin and the pizzas themselves are not that good, plus they are quite expensive. The place is very nice, though.

We were recommended here by my sister in law who had eaten here the previous week and has a friend who is local who initially recommended it. On a Thursday at around 3pm, I ordered the special of pan fried hake with parsley chili lemon butter with mash and vegetables at €19.95 and a glass of pinot grigio €6.95. My husband ordered the special of Camos homemade Cambodian Amok chicken curry chips and rice at €17.50 and a jug of Miwadi to share. We ordered a Ham and cheese toastie €6.50 and chips to share between the kids. Little did we know a 40 minute wait ensued from when we ordered 2 specials and a toastie. After 35 minutes, I asked was there any sign of our food and was informed that there was only one chef working today and apologies were made and enquiries to the kitchen occurred. 5 minutes later our food arrived again noting the delay. Whilst we are on holidays and luxuriating at a slower pace of life, this wait was unacceptable with two kids under the age of 5 post beach and ravenous. Wait aside, the food was very good and very decent portions. We also appreciated the waitress giving our kids a biscuit each after the meal though. Full of locals but be aware you may have a wait.

Camo is a small café & restaurant that we had breakfast in yesterday. The "Liberator breakfast" was the best Irish breakfast I have ever had & I've had many being Irish !! Plus it includes your tea or coffee !! No hidden extras here. Wonderful staff service too - no wonder they have won so many awards. This is a little gem in Cahersiveen on the main street opposite the Catholic church. Superb !!

Absolutely delicious food and great service/friendly staff. I had the steak (special of the day), which came with onion rings and mashed potatoes. They still offered to bring me chips. The fish (also a special) was delicious and well cooked. Not pictured: the veggies on the side that came with both dishes. Parking is easy, there is a huge car park nearby.

Whenever you're in the surrounding of Cahersiveen, it's worth your while to pay a visit at Camo's. Named after the grandfather of the current chef Rory McCarthy, this lovely bistro/café is run by very friendly people. Due to the absence of a cook we couldn't enjoy the fried fish of the day, but the wraps, sandwiches and Bombay chicken salad were very tasty and fresh. We enjoyed our lunch and can recommend a stop at this place. Even if you just want a simple cup of tea or a full Irish breakfast, the staff will go all the way to help the customers out. The homemade relishes (especially the mixed pepper and onion) and the dressings are yummy and you can buy them at the till.

My husband and I had breakfast here this morning. Absolutely delicious. The big fry and the Green way fry were so tasty including tea/coffee and toast. Highly recommend. We will be back. Thank you. Also to add the Camo's balsamic and honey and honey and mustard salad dressings are delicious.

I've had lunch here a few times and today's was as good as previously. Very polite, warm & friendly service and the pan-fried hake in a butter sauce with mash, accompanied by veggies on a side plate, was really delicious. My pal had the crispy battered fish with chips which also excellent. Note: Price quoted c€40 is for 2 persons.

Stopped in here on our drive around the Ring of Kerry. My wife and I both had the fish & chips. We were both very happy as the fish had a great tasting batter, homemade tarter sauce, and great chips. The staff was very friendly and attentive and even answered some of my questions about spots along the drive. Would definitely recommend if you're in this area looking for a meal.

Petit Délice is an absolute gem! We loved everything about this coffee shop—the service was exceptional, the prices were reasonable, and the food was incredibly fresh. We enjoyed tea, soup, a panini, and an éclair, all of which tasted just like home. What really stood out was the warm hospitality we received. While other cafes in the area had already stopped serving by 4 PM, claiming they were closing, the two delightful girls at Petit Délice welcomed us warmly. They even brought us water upon request, whereas the previous cafe had limited water service. Their kindness and attentiveness made our visit even more enjoyable. Highly recommended!

Wonderful little cakes, cookies,croissants sweet and salty, great salad(love the mustard dressing) and an unbelievable good brown sourdough bread!!! (Don't compare the prices with German bread prices, but for a German living here it is worth every cent) Whenever I go to Cahirsiveen, I stop in Petit Delice. It's great to have this café here in the area!!!

Absolutely perfect little cafe in Cahersiveen. I loved it so much I came back the next day again for breakfast. Pictured is rose petal tea, a fabulous and unusual watermelon and violet cake, and a vegetarian croissant filled with bechamel, mushroom, tomato, spinach and cheese. Huge selection of tempting pastries and patisserie. Seems actually in a French tradition. The caramel eclair and chocolate hazelnut cake were also delicious. Highly recommend.

What a gem. We visited twice and ordered different meals each time. Menu was so much more interesting than most places and every meal we had was top notch. Prices were really reasonable for such quality food and service. We didn't usually have desserts but they were too delicious to resist. We're looking forward to our next visit and cannot recommend cafe Bari highly enough!

Unfortunately felt like the brunch here fell flat. Was rather steep for the prices. The eggs Benedict had avocado which wasn’t fully ripe. And the waffles were far too sweet and dense (yet slightly undercooked?). Tea here was lovely though I’d think twice before going back for food there. Staff here were kind and appreciated the prompt and attentive service.

What an excellent cafe. We went expecting the usual fare but they had unique options, and they were done superbly. Genuinely delicious, well balanced, and excellently cooked! The staff were super friendly and very attentive even as it filled up. We were down for our holiday and do not live near but we are still talking about it!

A rare find, the food service and atmosphere was perfect. Family friendly with a super menu. The food had fresh ingredients and there were many options to suit any eater!

What a wonderful spot. Very friendly staff, gorgeous food, and we were able to bring our dog inside while we were having lunch. What a great. They have several vegan options, including vegan desserts. It was so nice to finally be catered for properly.

One of the few places which was open on a bank holiday so that was fortunate. The fact that they had delicious breakfast was a bonus. Loved the vibe, the service and the food. The "Create your own" breakfast menu was awesome and reasonable.

Nice place to stop for a break on the long drive of the Ring of Kerry. Scones were beautiful but would have liked something more of a breakfast nature. More choice, more money spent!

We stopped by for dessert and coffee after going on the Skellig boat tours. The lazy cat cafe was a refreshing stop. The honey cake and blueberry cake were fantastic, moist and flavorful. The cat art and interior decorating was coherent and well put together. Overall a wonderful cafe with good food and atmosphere

They did an amazing job for our wedding! Our wedding cake turned out exactly as we had imagined — it looked and tasted fantastic. They also did, as we wish a beautiful small birthday cake for our nephew, who had his birthday at the same date, which was a lovely extra touch. Everything was perfect, and the price was very fair. We couldn’t have asked for more and would definitely recommend them! Laura & Paudie

Lovely little bakery in the heart of Cahersiveen. They have a great variety of freshly baked goods (everything from soda bread to tarts and scones). Also very good service.

We were camping at a local campsite, Mannix campsite. We visited here three days in a row. The brioche bread with the different toppings are mouth watering, got one everyday and they are a great size. We also took a gorgeous apple pie back home with us. The staff are lovely aswell.

SO friendly here, we had a chat for ages with the lovely lady at the counter. We also had some incredible spelt bread that I couldn't recommend more!! Delicious!!

Expensive, but I think that's just Ireland. Decent selection including many locally produced items. Great service and I like that the shops are locally owned. So much better than buying from the German shops who are trying to take over.

Stopped by chance to use the bathrooms, which were spotlessly clean, then went into the store, honestly blown away by the size and range, and the prices are reasonable. We’ve been travelling down the wild atlantic way and honestly been robbed everywhere and let down by whats available - these guys should run every shop in Ireland, outstanding, they have everything you could possibly need. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

Had drinks and a super meal here. Excellent service great Guinness and the fish and chips and fish tacos were superb. Great bar service loved the athomphere and very good value. Looking forward to coming back next time we are passing through.

We were a party of three, who arrived at 8pm, when dinner had just ended. The chef very kindly agreed to us having dinner despite this. We all went with the fish of the day - pan-fried hake, smoked salmon risotto, green beans and salsa verde. The food was exquisite - very fresh and extremely delicious. Service was impeccable, with a very friendly server behind the bar.

Great experience coming in with the family. Rory and Brian were friendly and hospitable. Great place for young kids. Great outdoor seating. Food was excellent. Highly recommend for authentic Irish hospitality.

Had the most delicious meal in Eva's. It was without a doubt the best freshly cooked food we have had in years!. The vegetables were cooked once we placed our order and were done to perfection a rare thing to find nowadays. We couldn't recommend Eva's highly enough and Jack who cooked the food should be very proud of the food he is serving. Our server was so pleasant and made our dining experience all the better. Also place is spotless and we look forward to another visit.

This was our best food experience in Ireland so far! The owner served us and was so accommodating and welcoming! We had the pan fried hake and it was so delicious! They were open on a Monday when google said they were closed. Sooo good!

We stopped in for dinner. The staff were so courteous and friendly. We both enjoyed a really nice dinner and dessert in a relaxed atmosphere with excellent service. Would definitely recommend if you’re in the area. There is ample parking nearby just by the Aldi supermarket.

We was here cause the oratory was fully booked. And it was the luckiest coincidence ever. Evas is straight above the street on the other side. So we walked in even if the restaurant was completely empty, but: The food was unbelievably delicious!! We had four mains and two starters. All of them was extraordinary good! We had pork ribs which was soo tender, that the meat came off the bone just from having a slight look at it. ;) We also got the Malaysian curry, which also was absolutely on point and truly authentic. The waitress was super super friendly and it took less then 10 minutes for the food to arrive at the table. Complimentary bread was given which also had a very special and awesome taste. All in all a perfect and unexpected dining experience which I can't recommend enough tho. 12/10! We'll come again :)

We just walked out of this Restaurant. I made a booking for for a family of 5. When we arrived the restaurant was busy but not packed. We were seated at a lovely spot by the window with a view of the church across the road. It was fifteen minutes before we got menu's, husband had to ask twice!. We ordered and were left sitting for an hour, can you imagine the scenario with 3 young hungry children😱. At one point they gave us a bread basket with the presumption that food was imminent, it wasn't, so we eventually left. Honestly we were so disgusted. We don't eat out often so it was going to be a treat. Why take a booking that you can't manage, I can only put it down to greed. Be careful with reviews and ask locals before you decide where to dine because internet reviews can be very deceiving.

Great off licence, for whiskey, wine and some beers. Whiskey tasting available! Just ask Willie, banter comes free! Discovered some places to go on Valancia Island from Willie and added history regarding Irish whiskeys. Worth a stop.

Well stocked off licence in the town of Cahersiveen. Found a bottle of local Portmagee whiskey and they stock a few cigars, the whole reason I went in there. Friendly and helpful staff. Worth a visit if you're looking for something specific

The Teeling Blackpitts is very nice. Certainly peated, but softer and sweeter as the peat and the 46% suggest.

This is a must on every visit to Cahirsiveen. Great selection of wines and whiskey. Look down the back for some nice unusual items. I got a nice 2017 paulliac. Family owned. A real gem.

Friendly and lots of variety. (Paid) Irish whiskey tasting was very helpful.

Stopped off here while cycling the Ring of Kerry. Tom and the fellow behind the bar run a great little pub here. I ordered up one of the specials on the board for lunch. Open Faced Salmon Sandwich. Tom walked over to the seafood market after I ordered it and picked up the fresh catch of the day. Class pub out of Tom and the crew.

We spent two weeks in mid-August in Ireland. We did a ton of fantastic and memorable things during that two weeks, but for me this “drink/eat like a local” will always be one of my best afternoons of this vacation. Tommy (“The Yank”) couldn’t have been a more gracious host. His storytelling skills are the best! He even got one of our friends behind the bar and taught him to to pour a “proper pint”. If you’re driving the Ring of Kerry and looking for a place to kick back, chill, and “feel like a local”, you’re not going to find a better place than Craineen’s! Well done, Tommy.

Best seafood restaurant in Ireland, with one of the most incredible views. Positioned between a fish factory and pier, The Point is ideally located to get the freshest of produce. Pints and food are delicious. Recommend getting here early as there are no bookings available, but you can enjoy a drink while you wait. It’s worth it.

Hard to beat it for grub. A unique local restaurant experience. No bookings taken so be prepared to wait for a table. Don't be in a hurry, after all you're on your holidays 😘.

Excellent restaurant, was recommended it by a local and it did not disappoint. Great food, lovely service, nice atmosphere, quirky decor. Nice views outside too. You will probably need to wait a little for a table, a they dont take reservations, but worth it. Grab a drink at the bar and enjoy the place while you wait.

We had a wonderful experience at the restaurant! The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and the staff were very attentive and friendly. The seafood was incredibly fresh and delicious – every dish was beautifully prepared and presented. We truly enjoyed everything and will definitely come back. Highly recommended!

O’Neill’s doesn’t need my endorsement, as they are packed to the gills (sorry) every night. We loved the place so much, though, that I want to say so publicly. Also want to urge non-locals not to miss it. Waits are long, but an hour waiting for a table here — with a pint or two, surrounded by welcoming locals and regulars — is more pleasant than a “Right this way,” at most restaurants. The host and staff are so kind and good-humored, and the waiting crowd equally so. I had more nice chats with strangers than I have in a month in the U.S. The seafood, once you get it, is also surpassingly delicious. I’m from the American Northeast, but this was probably the best Atlantic lobster I’ve ever had, as well as some of the best oysters, best crab claws, best cold crab salad… We ended up returning several times and I have no regrets that we didn’t branch out more. Time spent eating and loitering here is an immersion in several of the things that make Ireland, and Kerry, very special.

10/10! The place is walk ins only and when we arrived we were told it would be about a 45 minute wait so we had a drink at the bar and were able to put in our orders at the bar before we got our table. All the staff were friendly and just generally sound and the atmosphere was relaxed and warm. The food was delicious, I got the crab claws as starter and the prawns as my main. My fiance got smoked salmon and then the hake (lightly battered). All the dishes were fantastic, would highly recommend coming here for dinner!

What an excellent lunch! We had the best seafood chowder after a chilly boat trip out to the skellig islands. Followed it up with mains and filled up for a long drive. The team was getting super busy w a tour bus that pulled up but that didn't impact our experience or service at all. They were excellent and the food was delicious. Highly recommend!

Went in on a Sunday night and it was quite busy but managed to get a table. Ordered seafood platter for 2 and steak. The seafood was ok - we liked the prawns the most. The steak isn’t seasoned so you need to add your own salt to suit. But the rest wasn’t so goods - fries: they are from frozen ones and probably been deep fried 2 times as they were really really dry and not edible imo - the seafood platter fried squid were so thin it felt we were just eating the panko We told them about the fries but they said it was all like that as it’s been fried… but it’s really the worst I’ve eaten . We weren’t asked how the food was in the end and just paid and left. I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant - certainly didn’t have the experience of other guests

Fisherman’s Bar is a top choice on the island for anyone after hearty food and a good pint. Their burger and seafood chowder are standouts—fresh, and served in generous portions. The drinks are equally satisfying we enjoyed a very nice Guinness, and the atmosphere is relaxed yet lively, especially when live events are on. It’s a popular spot, so booking a table is a smart move, but whether you’re after a full meal, a few drinks, or just a laid-back evening, it’s a solid pick.

Hands down the best seafood platter I have ever had in my life. Absolutely outstanding. Gorgeous day to sit outside on their patio, overall an amazing experience!

We did the Skellig Michael tour and our guide recommended the Fisherman for good seafood, ordered platter for two and chowder, delicious and so much on the platter needed help from chowder lads to finish, got table service outside, great sunny day, bar inside was cosy and snug as well, only slight hitch seemed to be coffee orders but a minor quibble for an otherwise marvellous spot to feast of some magnificent Irish seafood, à must visit if that is your fancy 😀

Nestled is a lovely little port village, this was a great place to fuel up. I think seating can be hot or miss, we were outside across the street which was fine on a terrific day. Food was tasty, we tried the Fish and Chips, Cottage Pie and the Ribeye. No complaints at all!

So good we ate here twice. We had the seafood platter, the duck rolls, the lightly battered scampi, and the seafood chowder. If I had the stomach to eat everything on the menu I would. But I also rate their service and hospitality 5/5. It is why I returned and recommend this place to all visitors in town.

Had the most delicious meal in Eva's. It was without a doubt the best freshly cooked food we have had in years!. The vegetables were cooked once we placed our order and were done to perfection a rare thing to find nowadays. We couldn't recommend Eva's highly enough and Jack who cooked the food should be very proud of the food he is serving. Our server was so pleasant and made our dining experience all the better. Also place is spotless and we look forward to another visit.

We stopped in for dinner. The staff were so courteous and friendly. We both enjoyed a really nice dinner and dessert in a relaxed atmosphere with excellent service. Would definitely recommend if you’re in the area. There is ample parking nearby just by the Aldi supermarket.

We just walked out of this Restaurant. I made a booking for for a family of 5. When we arrived the restaurant was busy but not packed. We were seated at a lovely spot by the window with a view of the church across the road. It was fifteen minutes before we got menu's, husband had to ask twice!. We ordered and were left sitting for an hour, can you imagine the scenario with 3 young hungry children😱. At one point they gave us a bread basket with the presumption that food was imminent, it wasn't, so we eventually left. Honestly we were so disgusted. We don't eat out often so it was going to be a treat. Why take a booking that you can't manage, I can only put it down to greed. Be careful with reviews and ask locals before you decide where to dine because internet reviews can be very deceiving.

Eva’s it’s brilliant! Food 1000 start ! The service was excellent Eva attended us very friendly and taking care that everything was excellent, we also ordered hake and fish and chips very fresh food! The salad dressing is undoubtedly the best ! Looking forward back again

This was our best food experience in Ireland so far! The owner served us and was so accommodating and welcoming! We had the pan fried hake and it was so delicious! They were open on a Monday when google said they were closed. Sooo good!

Had a very enjoyable 3 night stay recently. Very comfortable beds in a beautiful room which had all the facilities required. Breakfast was excellent also the evening meal (salmon) was delicious. The staff are amazing they are so friendly & helpful which adds to the enjoyment. Leonard is the perfect host. We highly recommend this hotel as it is on a par with 4* hotels. We will definitely stay here again. Ann & Mary.

I had a wonderful time at the ROK Hotel. Great food, pleasant staff and the best cup of coffee in Ireland. Will be recommending to friends and family looking for a great stay in Kerry. Looking forward to my next visit!

We had a wonderful 3 night stay 17-20th August, The room was spacious, clean and recently upgraded. Our host Jessica n Leonard were friendly and managed our request immediately. A good selection of breakfast served, Jessica took time to do her own research to advice us on halal option. A great base to explore Ring Of Kerry, Skellig ring and Port Magee. Recommended

Stopped by for dinner last week. The chicken was lovely, the mash was gorgeous and the rhubarb crumble was a bit too sweet, but the ice cream compliments it. I will be back.

Absolutely Delicious Breakfast! We had an amazing breakfast here and every dish was delicious . The pancakes were perfectly fluffy and had just the right amount of sweetness—absolutely lovely. The French toast was outstanding, with soft, buttery brioche bread. The bacon served with both the pancakes and French toast was honestly the best bacon I've ever had: incredibly crispy, full of flavour, and cooked to perfection. My partner ordered the full fry and was just as impressed. Everything on the plate was top quality and cooked beautifully. Highly recommend this spot if you're looking for a breakfast that really delivers.

Went in for lunch and had to wait over an hour for our food with no explanation from wait staff. Very disappointed in slow service. Would not recommend.

Oh my god we just drove past this place on the way to Waterville and had the best server Chloe she was 10/10 her service was exceptional and the food was the best would recommend.

Props to Liam and Sara for their great senses of humour. We absolutely loved the pub. If you’re female, be sure to go to the loo! It’s exquisite. I had the beef stew and scone. Both were so good. My friend had the soup special which was also incredible. I just loved being there.

Beautiful bar, very good food, great service… You get your meal very quickly, about 10–15 minutes after ordering. Prices are reasonable. Very friendly staff (that’s for you, “Margarita” – I hope it is written correctly 😅). Lovely atmosphere, comfortable seating! Great!

A great variety of tasty local dishes, a lovely interior, and friendly, helpful service. On top of that, there was live music by a very talented musician. This place is definitely worth a visit when staying in Cahersiveen.

TLDR: Servers forgot us for 20 minutes, food came out incomplete (pasta came out without any sauce at all, just plain pasta, had to ask them to bring sauce out in an extra cup), food quality was lacking (fish from fish and chips had no real flavor to the fish or the batter). Highlight of the experience was the cottage pie which came out nicely.

We stopped in here for lunch and I had the red curry, which was delicious. The menu indicated the veg version is suitable for vegans— if you’re in search of a vegan option I would highly recommend it, as it had chickpeas and lentils and was actually filling. We were quite hungry after driving from Kenmare, and it was the perfect lunch to fill us up before the rest of the drive. The restaurant itself was cozy and had a nice vibe, and the service was good!

Fantastic choice of food at a reasonable price. The location itself couldn’t be more ideal, the view from here is breathtaking. The staff as well are no doubt extremely friendly and helpful. Gave great tips on where to go and what to do! The gift shop was an added bonus as well, excellent if you wanted to get something for someone back home. 10/10 would recommend this place if you want great food in a scenic location on the ring of Kerry, friendly staff and an authentic Irish experience.

While doing the Ring of Kerry, I recently stopped in this restaurant and appreciated the typical irish food a lot.

Had lunch here today, 5 adults and 5 kids. By far the best food I have had out in a long time. The steak sandwich was superb, full of flavour , tender and cooked to perfection medium Rare. So tender it would melt in your mouth. All the other food then rest of our group had was equally superb. Well done guys keep up the good food and we will definitely be back again soon.

My group stopped by here for lunch and the food was great. They do not accept credit cards, which is a bummer. We got 5 different orders and each one was delicious. I got the Sunday roast pork and it was the best meal I had in Ireland.

A great place! Had eggs Benedict with beautifully presented dish, poached egg spot on. A friend had battered hake-excellent and good sized portions. Great value for money. Small wait as food is cooked to order.

Happened across this gem entirely by chance. Popped in and it was busy but there was no real wait time. Got the farmers panini, one with creamy vegetable soup and one with salad and chips. Delectable. Absolutely smashing. Prices are quite low as well. Wish we found it the first night as we’re only here 2 days

My wife and I stopped in for lunch while driving the Ring of Kerry during Tropical Storm Lorenzo. Stopped in town to go to another establishment, but first asked a local workman exiting his truck. He instead recommended the Hungry Monk saying we would not be disappointed even though the chef is an angry man (LOL). It is a small, well kept place. I ordered the Kentucky Fried Chicken wrap and my wife had the Authentic Indian Curry. The food was PHENOMENAL! - so many flavors. The servings were large and I could not finish it, but am looking forward to a snack later today.

Got meal for 8 take away for my christening yesterday. It was vegetarian curry, rice and poppadoms. Freshly cooked, It was absolutely delicious, soooo tasty 😋 it was packed in a really clever thermal box and stayed perfectly watm until we ate. Dessert was baked cheesecake, it was the nicest cheesecake ive ever eaten. It was just put of the oven when my husbamd collected. Yummy! Highly recommend, Thank you Hungry Monk

The place is a beautiful modern building with large floor to ceiling windows looking out towards the ocean. There is good range of options that are sublime 😋 but I was a little disappointed with my choice of main dish. The delicate taste of the Monkish with asparagus that was lost by the pairing of a strong mint sauce. However, the restaurant is amazing and I strongly recommend you book in advance 👌

Driftwood Surf was one of a few places we discovered in Kerry that we kept going back to, because the experience was such a holistic pleasure. The quality of seafood they use would be the envy of any $$$$/***** restaurant in New York or LA. Same goes for the meat, as they get most of their lamb and beef from their own farms or their neighbors’, and you can taste it. The cooking and the décor are a lovely merger of local pub and global influence - friendly and welcoming, and also ambitious and modern. We felt lucky to be there, and also relaxed and at home. If you’re anywhere in the area, do not miss it.

Returned after a fab meal with friends last year…promised my mum to bring her. arrived to realise I had booked the table for a wk later, 😧 staff were so accommodating and helpful, don’t worry, we got a window spot, Food top notch, delicious and plenty full. Staff wonderful & attentive to kids, & as for the actual surroundings… I honestly don’t think you could build a nicer place to dine and enjoy the Irish coast line. Top Tip: bring cash. Don’t take tips on card! Please look after the staff! ❣️

What a find! The Fish and Chips were outstanding! The Atlantic Fish Chowder was both tasty and chock full of fish - couldn’t find a potato in the bowl!

This place is such a hidden gem, came as a local recommendation. One of the best meals I had while home in Ireland. The monkfish was outstanding.

What a fantastic addition to a beautiful area. Myself and my husband visited not once but twice while staying in the area. Food was delicious thoughtfully prepared and presented with some great wine to choose from. Lovely service from all the staff but call out to Rachel for fitting us in for night two after a sensational first meal, and it did not disappoint! Tastefully decorated in keeping with the landscape and serving local produce, put it all together and you have the all the ingredients for a perfect meal. One to talk about to all your friends and family!

Nice friendly and helpful staff. Food was as good as most takeaways. It’s one of the best options in the area. The portions we got were generous and prices were reasonable enough. The lady on the counter was extremely helpful

I can't fault it, kebabs are great, staff is very friendly. Dining area could do with a bit of modernisation but food wise it's what you expect from fast food.

Just extremely gross. Fries are soggy and tasteless. The kebab had the structure of a rubber band and was folded so badly that everything fell out. There is also no atmosphere, the atmosphere at a funeral is more entertaining. The one star for this review is only for the cold soft drink.

I ate pizza from this shop it was yummy and chicken kabab was so delicious. That's the best option for halal food in town
