Island
Elba is a picturesque island in the Tuscan Archipelago, known for its tropical-like beaches and clear waters. It is the third largest Italian island and a popular destination for sea holidays in Tuscany. The island boasts fine sand beaches, Pisan towers, Etrurian fortresses, and pine-clad mountains. Elba was once home to Napoleon Bonaparte during his exile and offers a rich history to explore.
The most beautiful island! I go there all the time and adore all the beaches. The little towns are adorable and so Italian. I just love Elba.
The I — Google review
Elba is very beautiful island with many beautiful beaches and little towns. It’s very easy to do a round trip around the island in one day and experience the winding roads. A lot of the beaches are difficult to reach. They also could be very crowded during the season. Plenty of diving options too. Prices are way more expensive than inland of course, but overall a great place for a short vacation.

Sea food is amazing! We enjoyed every dish with Polpo and local catch. The best experience.

Nice combination of mountains and sea. Ideal for May, September and October. Moderate prices, low prices of parking even a few meters from a beach. I reccomned.

A very interesting island to explore and discover! Off the coat of Tuscany. A beautiful setting on the coat of Italy 🇮🇹 A charming island with a turquoise blue water. Very touristy these days. Narrow streets and very Mediterranean looking with clothes hanging to dry on alleys. It’s a gorgeous island to explore and enjoy the views.

Pianosa, a small Tuscan island in the Tuscan Archipelago, was once a prison fortress but is now open for guided tours. Since 1998, it has been uninhabited and is known for its historic prison (now closed) and beautiful beaches like Cala Giovanna with its crystal blue waters and remnants of a Roman villa. Visitors can explore attractions such as Forte Teglia, Palazzo della Specola, and the catacombs.

(Translated by Google) This wonderful island is about a two-hour ferry ride from Piombino. With a licensed tour guide, we hiked inside what was once the agricultural prison area. Lush with Mediterranean scrub, it offers many wonderful views of the various coves, which unfortunately are off-limits. The only accessible beach is Cala Giovanna, a pearl of white sand and crystal-clear sea, completely unspoiled. A single bar-restaurant and a single hotel enliven this now deserted village. A few old historic buildings remain, symbols of a bygone era. The only thing that stands out is a long, high, and dilapidated concrete wall that demarcates the impassable area of the prison, located right behind the beach. And yet, there were no traces of the infamous ticks. A surreal atmosphere. If you're looking for a corner of peace and beauty, this is it!

Beaches
Marina di Campo beach is a popular destination situated in a picturesque inlet, surrounded by rows of cliffs and Mediterranean vegetation. While it may not be deemed as the most outstanding beach on Elba Island, it still offers a pleasant experience. The area boasts stunning views and good dining options, but lacks any remarkable landmarks such as lighthouses or castles. However, what makes Marina di Campo unique is its sandy beach and shallow waters, which are rare on the island.
Biggest beach on Elba. Best enjoyed in June or September but always a treat.

Nice area, very beautiful view and good restaurants. But I did not see something extraordinary like lighthouse or castle here (maybe just me).
Daria N — Google review
Nice sandy beach with shallow water- suitable for small kids.
Ivan J — Google review
A nice beach but not my favorite on Elba island. All of the beaches are beautiful but some are amazing! This is not an amazing beach. But Marina di Campo is a great little town to stay in for a few nights.
Jes S — Google review
Great place, lots of space, water a bit shallow.
Felix F — Google review
Good beach....but too many people. Be careful a large part of the beach is now private and you need to pay. If you're coming from somewhere else than Marina Di Campo pay attention to parking because there are expensive and almost all full after 10am.

Mount Capanne, the highest mountain on Elba Island, offers a dramatic summit that can be reached by hiking or taking a cable car. The area surrounding the mountain is characterized by lush and unspoiled nature, with chestnut woods and charming villages like San Pietro and Sant'Ilario.

Very nice and fairly easy mountain walk up to Monte Capanne. Start at the cable car on route 1. If you are used to Alpine mountain walking, the trip takes about 1.5-2 hours. You will see beautiful nature and great views throughout the walk. It is very empty as 99.9% of people take the cable car. The top of Monte Capanne is very busy and completely built up with telecom and TV antennas. Hence, enjoy your walk up.
Dan B — Google review
Hiking the Monte Capanne was great fun, especially since the way 101 up is very easy to follow and pretty beautiful as well. The view from the top across the island and beyond is amazing! Thanks to the nice lady of the little café, she was very sweet. We went down by foot too, it's a nice 1-day-tour (2,5 hours to the top, 2 hours having a break + lunch there, 1.5 hours back..more or less.)

Villa San Martino Residenza Napoleonica, located 5km southwest of Portoferraio on the Island of Elba, was transformed by Napoleon into an elegant summer retreat. The villa features the romantic Room of the Love Knot and grand Egyptian Room, reflecting Napoleon's desire for a Parisian touch. A Russian nobleman later added a grand gallery to the property.
I visited this villa after Villa dei Mulini and enjoyed this visit more than the previous one. Even if both villas are quite decadent and seem to lack maintenance, this one has a larger garden and more interesting rooms, with intricate decor. Some of the walls are painted with beautiful trompe l'oeil and there is a distant sea view among the vegetation that add to the atmosphere. Some people complained about the parking costing 4€, regardless of the length of stay, beware that on May 2024 the parking is a whopping 5€. Also, dogs are not allowed anywhere on the property. Luckily I was with my family, so we took turns for the visit and stayed long enough to get the 5€ worth of parking ;-)
Dan D — Google review
Has a lot of potential but feels kind of “bad maintained” considering it used to be the residence of one of the most important figures back in the day. Parking was 5€ and entree 2€(18-24years) and 5€ for rest, under 18 is free. Overall worth a visit due to its history but don’t expect too much.
Fred H — Google review
As part of heritage - nice to visit. But nothing a lot to see to be honest. Just few rooms with some furniture, some definetely original. Entrance 5€ for adults, 18-25 years 2€. Below 18- free- and that is nice which gave one more star to my review.
Ivan J — Google review
I like this place even the garden is not stunning. You can feen the special climate here. 5 Eur for entrance.
Ewelina B — Google review
Was closed even though on Google maps it said "open". Many people went there on that day to find a paper written notice that due to weather conditions the museum was closed. I could say what they mean since the weather wasn't too bad. In addition the road to the parking space was all muddy and not taken care of for a looong time. Plus there are several little souvenir shops and bars/restaurants in front of the museum that smell horribly bad and are very not to be recommended.
Sophie H — Google review
This place has so much potential, but unfortunately, it doesn’t live up to it. The storyline feels weak and underdeveloped, with very little description to draw you in. The translations are poor, which makes the experience even harder to follow. The place itself seems to be slowly deteriorating and is in serious need of renovation. It could be something truly special with the right care and attention, but as it stands, it’s a disappointment.
Georg S — Google review
Nice, the trip to it is nice. What I didn't liked is the fact that the closing hour, Sunday 31'st October, is 13:00, which is pretty early, considering that most people travel in weekend. Due to this I didn't had the opportunity to see it inside. The villa certainly looks good, but would need a bit more maintenance, at least in the outside.

The museum doesn't offer many things, but overall is a nice place to chill out and get a 19th century feeling...

If you're looking for an unforgettable experience on the beautiful island of Elba, a ride on the Cabinovia Monte Capanne is a must! This chairlift whisks you from just before Marciana to the summit of Monte Capanne, the highest peak on the island, in about twenty minutes. On clear days, prepare to be mesmerized by stunning panoramic views that will leave a lasting impression.
Fun standing cable car with amazing views. Each cable car fits two people and the trip is about 15 minutes each way. At the top there are a few optional hikes to higher points that are medium difficulty. Views from the platform and higher points are amazing, you can see the whole island in every direction.
Chris T — Google review
Well done ride thru the beautiful, ever changing mountainous landscape. Secure cages, relatively smooth ride for adults and kids.
Jerri G — Google review
We went there by accident, but it was really nice. The staff was really friendly and helpful. We went there early september, it was a little bit cloudy but we could almost see the whole island. The cabin felt secure and safe. There was almost no waiting line either for buying a ticket or getting on the cabin.
Felix — Google review
Great experience—our kids loved it, and the views were incredible! The carts move slowly, making it about a 15-minute ride each way, but it’s a relaxing journey. You also have the option to hike, which adds to the adventure. The only downside was the maintenance of the fencing at the top; it could use some attention.
Joel D — Google review
Amazing spot to see the whole island from above. The hike up is grueling and steep (but a good workout!) and the cable car ride down in the yellow birdcage was iconic 😍🫶🏻
Fra53r1990 — Google review
You really need to do it if you are in this island! Amazing must experience! 🤩 the mountain of Capanne we was hiking in super extreme road with cables but it was worth it and we took this cable car down, was something exceptional! You should try! But not in windy day 😝 was 13 euro per person and eating down in restaurant was worth it!

(Translated by Google) Bad experience: I stayed for 1 hour and 20 minutes with my little dog. After a 15 minute bath the owner of the baths told me that since the dog was barking she kept him on a leash to reassure him (courteous even if annoyed). I decided to leave because if I had wanted to bathe the problem would have arisen again (!). I asked for the bill: 25 euros even though I was alone (it is the price written for 2 deckchairs and an umbrella). I pointed out that I was alone and had stayed for just over an hour. The answer: due to the turnout they had sent people away...An answer without logic and basic dishonesty.

Monument
Torre della Linguella, also known as the Martello Tower, is an octagonal fortress constructed in 1548 by Cosimo de' Medici to defend Portoferraio. It was designed to prevent entry into the Medici Darsena by using a large chain connected from the tower to the Gallo Tower. In the 18th century, it was repurposed as a prison and held Sandro Pertini, who later became president of Italy.

From the sea, the nudist area is on the right side – pleasantly secluded and well-integrated into nature. At times, I was completely alone and was able to fully enjoy the peace and quiet. The approximately 20-minute descent along a narrow path is absolutely worth it – however, it's not really suitable for older people or small children. Although I was the only nudist, I felt very comfortable – the beach is large enough for everyone to find their own space. The atmosphere was relaxed and respectful – no one felt disturbed or looked askance. There are about ten parking spaces at the parking lot. Overall, a very nice place for anyone who appreciates nature, peace, and serenity. The price for the ticket is too high (9€!) Considering that there are only 3 little rooms to see and a "movie room" with distorted audio which is impossible to understand a single word. The place is new and well finished but doesn't worth the price in my opinion.. they should reconsider the price because there are other museums that offers more and cost less.

I have been to many mineral museums. This one is a special gem. Not only does it have incredible world class specimens of tourmaline, ortholcase, spessartine, special ematite and more, these all come from all over the island (including the famous iron mines from the east and the pegmatite formations around San Piero itself, which form part of the island's heritage and culture. So it's not just about the minerals it's much more if you care to understand. This is also sort of education center, running things for the community and children and doing trips to the local geological sites, and they have a small library. The lady who runs the museum is the most charming and wonderful person you could imagine and so amazingly helpful. Her passion for her work and the museum are very evident. Her name even means Jade in Italian! T

From the shore the floating structure may seem like a "toy", but this is not the case, the 3 platforms are very respectable and give great satisfaction, the water is deep and very clean - a real pleasure! Congratulations to these guys who, as pioneers, have embarked on an undertaking for which I wish well-deserved success!

(Translated by Google) Went looking for a jungle float today but couldn't find it / closed. This while Google indicates that it is open.

(Translated by Google) Don't waste your money... just leave it alone... The managers are rude and arrogant, I have witnessed rants and tones that not even longshoremen reach that far... mostly because it is an attraction reserved especially for children to entertain them! (Original) Non buttate via i soldi … lasciate proprio perdere …
