Specialty Museums
The Curry Historical Museum in Gold Beach offers a glimpse into the history of Curry County, showcasing exhibits on Native American heritage and the impact of the logging industry. Visitors can engage with knowledgeable volunteers who are eager to explain the displays. The museum provides an opportunity to learn about local history and is a great stop for those interested in gaining insights into the area's past. Additionally, visitors can explore life-sized dinosaur replicas at the nearby Prehistoric Gardens for a journey back in time.
This was a fun little place! We really enjoyed walking through. They do as for donation of $5 per person to help keep the lights on. Totally worth it!

Great museum! We loved learning about the local history and the woman at the desk Gerry had great information about the town!

It's a fine place to explore on a rainy day, which happens often on the Oregon coast. Some interesting history.

Small hometown museum. I spent about 45 minutes here. Good, basic info about the area. $5 might be slightly high for what it is.

Seafood restaurant
Restaurant
Barnacle Bistro is a cozy seafood restaurant that offers a variety of comfort food options, including local fish and burgers. Despite its unassuming exterior, this spot is popular among both locals and food enthusiasts due to its commitment to using high-quality locally sourced ingredients in virtually every dish. The menu features items made from scratch, and the fully stocked bar ensures a memorable dining experience.
Best fish and chips yet. Wasabi tacos were the perfect balance of amazing fish with a kick. Love the vibe here, service was fantastic. We want to come back and do everything on the menu!
Carla R — Google review
Looking for somewhere to eat on our way though and found this awesome little restaurant and we weren't disappointed! Russ was excellent to us and gave us menu suggestions which turned out great. I had the Wasabi Fish Tacos and my wife had the Fish Sandwich with pesto and both were really good, fish cooked properly with a nice crispy coating. It was quiet when we were there but I suspect this place gets hopping.
A+ C — Google review
I ordered the fish and chips and while the fish was great, the garlic fries seemed like they had been sitting a little bit before they were served to me. The slaw was just shredded vegetables, no mayo or seasoning in them and honestly, it was not what I’d expect from a restaurant charging 25 dollars for a plate of fish and chips. My girlfriend ordered the beet and goat cheese sandwich and I must say it was super unique and delicious! It seems like they cater to healthier cooking options which is awesome, but a little bit of avocado mayonnaise and salt in the slaw really wouldn’t hurt. And 6 dollars for an add-on fry is really a little steep, even in the year 2025.

It's not easy to eat delicious food in a small town, but I got it. Although I waited for a long time, it was worth it because the boss was really busy and had to do a lot of things. I think it might not be easy to recruit employees in a small town, so it's understandable.
Jinxiang S — Google review
First time here and came at noon, and it was packed, but still, some outside seating available. It was a day before the 4th of July and it's a tourist town. I ordered the 8 ounce house burger 🍔 and it was packed with tomato, lettuce onions, and crunchy pickles on a grilled toasted bun. Very juicy a filling. I should have ordered the 6 ounce (also, they have a 4ounce also. And a locally brewed lager. Overall, it was good , and the restroom was clean.
Kevin T — Google review
Passing through town and stopped here for lunch. Got a soup and salad combo, and let me tell you, it was perfect. Chowder was perfectly seasoned, and their croutons are delicious. Any restaurant that can nail the basics, I am a fan of. Hope to come back again one day.
Kate H — Google review
This was my first time there. I tried the clam chowder and the seafood tacos (I forget the real name of them). The clam chowder was pretty good...very rich and creamy, with many tiny clam pieces (but there was a lot of sand in some of those), and too many potatoes imo. The cream base was bland until I added salt and pepper, but then I enjoyed it. I would give it a 3.5 out of 5 score (given others I have tried on the coast). The seafood tacos were quite filling. I liked the shells and there was a lot of seafood and lettuce in each. My complaint again would be that they were bland and it felt like they were missing something...maybe avocado? Maybe bacon? Maybe cilantro lime crema? Idk. But I honestly wished I had ordered something different instead, especially since they are not cheap. And I loved my beer. The bill was around $50. So be prepared to spend a pretty penny if you get more than one item. I probably won't be back (I am not a local), but it sounds like they won't be open for the next 4 months anyhow...working on a remodel.
NICOLE H — Google review
Had steamers and the fish tacos. Food was carefully prepared with quality ingredients and presentation but the flavors weren't quite balanced. Steamers broth was a bit too bright without enough umame and the tacos were a bit dry and in need of more sauce and the wasabi too intense for the rest of the flavors. Recommended the Arch Rock beer which was A+. Bill was over 50 bucks which would be worth it if well executed next time.

Scenic spot
Kissing Rock is a renowned landmark located at the entrance to Gold Beach from the south. This sizable rock formation, resembling a shark fin, has been a subject of debate regarding its name's origin, possibly linked to its past as a popular spot for young couples. It stands out on the southern coastline and is easily visible from Highway 101 with ample parking for visitors.
This is like pretty much most places along the Oregon coast were its so just beautiful! The ocean, big rocks, and the creek flowing to the ocean are just magnificent. Known fact, if you're into finding agates this is the best place on the Oregon coast.
Davin — Google review
I did not see a cave entrance but I would like to go back and check it out again on a different adventure
Lucien L — Google review
Its hard to rate a location. Everywhere is beautiful along the coast. I only rated it a 4 because the walk to the beach is not for everyone. It is rocky. Multiple ways to get to the beach but not clearly marked. The beach was quiet for a Saturday. This beach has beautiful rocks. So many colors and sizes. Very unique. Only found one little agates but tide was just going out.
Christina M — Google review
Beautiful beach and great views. Turtle rock is just a couple hundred yards away as well if you wanna climb to the top and get a spectacular view. Just a caution, it requires someone reasonably fit to climb. The sound is great here and the backdrop is quiet.
Preston.Brittney C — Google review
A lookout stop with plenty of room for a truck and trailer to pull in. We stopped here to have a quick bite, and it was the best lunchtime view! We walked the beach when we were done and it was just the relaxing break we needed to finish our 5 hour trip today. Also found this pumpkin face painted rock, I left it there, to put a smile on someone else's face. 😊
Micheline R — Google review
When the sun sets it kisses the rock! what a beautiful place. Easy access to the beach from the parking lot so if you want a quick stop to the beach - this is the one!

Great place for a break. Very interesting history, a must read. And a great place to call your mom!

See it soon...the remains of this boat are disappearing fast. Take the time to read the boat's history on the nearby display. It is fascinating.

Beautiful area full of history and mystique. I was there on a foggy morning so it adding a lot of spooky coast ambience. There was an island of sea lions behind the ship that were entertaining to watch as well. Lots of dock traffic and I think there were some places to eat around there. I was distracted by the sights!

Cool little stop. Just off 101 beside a little parking lot. Be aware of the sea lions they where closer that we thought lol

Barbecue restaurant
Gold Beach BBQ, operating since 2009, offers delectable smoked barbecue dishes from a mobile grill, ensuring superb taste at affordable prices. The skilled chefs take immense pride in their cuisine and prioritize customer satisfaction. Located in Gold Beach Oregon, this latest addition to the food scene is renowned for its lip-smacking Texas-style barbeque and irresistible sauce. Freshly smoked meats are prepared daily on-site along with various other house-made delicacies such as the uniquely smoked Mac and cheese.
Amazing food at Gold Beach! We ordered the Brisket & Pork Belly with Mac & Cheese and a Biscuit and the St. Louis Pork Ribs & Tri-Tip with Chowder and Cornbread—and everything was absolutely delicious. The meats were perfectly cooked, full of flavor, and had a great texture. The brisket was tender and smoky, the pork belly was juicy, and the ribs and tri-tip were well-seasoned and satisfying. The sides complemented the meal perfectly. The mac & cheese was creamy and rich, the chowder was comforting, and both the biscuit and cornbread were soft and flavorful. Fantastic experience! If you’re in Gold Beach and craving barbecue, this place is definitely worth a stop.

Fast, friendly service with good attention after the food was delivered. Every dish we had was great, especially loved the pulled pork sandwich. Mozzarella sticks were fresh and hot.
Mike M — Google review
From the sweet tea to the corn bread this southern gal approves! We had a 3 meat 2 sides combo. The chicken thigh, brisket, and pulled pork are cooked to perfection. The barbecue sauce will make you drool! There's something different in it, couldn't quite place my finger on it, but delicious. The Mac n cheese was to die for! I wish they had a recipe book and a restaurant closer to Hillsboro. Our server was sweet and great with the kiddos. Don't miss out on this gem.
ASHLEY W — Google review
We had an amazing experience at this barbecue place! We tried a fresh salad and four different kinds of meat, and everything was absolutely delicious. The aroma from the wood-fired smoker was incredible, and it made the whole meal feel so special. This is real, wholesome, and flavorful food, cooked with love. Highly recommend to anyone who appreciates authentic, healthy, and tasty barbecue!

Was running late and wanted a burger and blam,Gold Beach BBQ. That burger was juicy and full of flavor. It was just the right size and hit the spot. Their BBQ sauce is wonderful, and you want to drink it. The staff and owner (pit master) were kind and friendly and helpful. I will return.

Best BBQ I had for long time; pork was awesome and service was excellent ; tea was on sweet side do
A A — Google review
I've been looking for some good BBQ and found this place online while I was about 30 miles away. I drove the 30 miles in my little RV and struggled to find easy parking. Not exactly their fault... the lot behind the building has plenty of spots just not big and long spots - a hot tip for RVers who want to eat here is that the shut down old Dairy Queen up the road has plenty of parking... which makes for a short walk to the establishment. Having never been into this place before, I was slightly confused about how to approach the counter. Everyone in the building was seated but I wanted to order my food to go. A youngster with blonde hair and blue eyes explained the ropes to me in a friendly manner. I could be seated and be served or I could order my food to go at the counter. I decided to give it a go based on the reviews and ordered about 50 bucks worth of food. I ordered a half rack of ribs and a full pound of brisket... as well as a small drink. Also left a nice tip for the friendly service. The place isn't cheap but not many restaurants these days can be described as such - let alone one specializing in meats. I get it. My only hope was that I would get what I paid for. Getting my meal into my RV I decided to dig in. The half rack of ribs were just that... felt like I got the small end of the rack sadly - but they were still good ribs. I'm usually a feind for good BBQ sauce and will slather it on everything - but I ate these ribs with just the dry rub that came on them. I was NOT disappointed by the taste or texture. They were well cooked - and the seasoning was on point. Some seasoning chunks were a little thick and got stuck in my teeth but that was easy to fix. The 1lb of brisket was cooked perfectly. This is how you want your brisket cooked. HOWEVER! There is such a thing in this BBQ world as ordering your brisket "LEAN" which I forgot to do... the 1lb of brisket came out about 25 - 30% fat capped. Brisket is a fatty cut of meat and this was my fault for not being specific to what I wanted. It was 30 bucks for the lb - and so I basically paid 10 bucks for fat on top of my brisket. Lesson learned and not the establishments fault. 2/3 of that brisket was absolutely fire and I really do look forward to returning and getting a lb of lean brisket from these folks. Finally, I want to give a shout out to the owner. I don't know his name but I knew it was him. He was a tall, older gentleman - and he was going from table to table asking customers how their food was... and if they needed refills on their drinks. Geez... can you imagine if this was standard practice in our restaurants. I was blown away by a man who obviously has a successful business, and most likely all the money he needs because of it, going out of his way to give solid customer service. After witnessing this, even if the food wasn't good, I would have supported this place. He is older... you can tell his body probably doesn't move like it did when he was younger - but he's still out here offering to get his customers drink refills. Salute to you sir... a massive salute to you. You run a business how it should be run and I left with not only an appreciation for the food here - but also with a massive amount of respect for how this man cares about his business. You sir are a legend of an owner. Also, a shout out to a manager named John. I actually called in this morning to get some clarification on things - like if lean brisket was an option... and the parking solutions in the area. He was very helpful. Look forward to meeting you on my next visit John. All in all... this was a very worthy effort - a very worthy 50 bucks spent. I didn't eat everything in one sitting as I'm not quite fat enough to do so yet. I ate about half of what I got and then made sandwiches of the rest. BBQ is not cheap - good food is not cheap... if you're going to spend your hard earned money on good food - this is a good place to do it. See you all again soon.
Someone S — Google review
Well well, where do I start. While visiting the little beach town, my wife and I decided to stay the night here and venture around. At the end of our first day, we decided to try this place. Man, oh man, we were so surprised! First, the cozy home feeling of the atmosphere as we walk in, then the excellent service from the staff already sealed the deal before we even tried the food. We ordered a 4 meat 3 side deal for $40, and it was plenty for both of us. We got tri tops, dark chicken, pull pork and brisket with steak fries, Mac n cheese, and cheesy corn. EVERYTHING tasted amazing, no, I mean really everything! If you're a local here, you already know, but if you're like me and you're visiting or passing through, I highly recommend you try this food. Top notch, in my opinion.

Gold Beach Books & Art Gallery is a haven for book enthusiasts and art lovers alike. With over 75,000 carefully selected books covering various genres, it's the largest bookstore on the Oregon coast. The two-story space also features an art gallery showcasing magnificent bronze sculptures, metal art, glass art, and stunning paintings. Visitors can relax in the quaint coffee shop while enjoying specialty coffee and freshly baked treats.
Great selection of local artwork. Nice staff.

The museum part looked cool we went in to have coffee and look around the museum but the staff was notattentive at all, we were in there for about 5 minutes looking at the options in the cafe before i even saw a staff member, I don't even think they saw us, we were never acknowledged and stood there waiting for a minute of two longer before deciding we didn't want to support a business that was so unattentive🫤by far very disappointing.

The people here were absolutely delightful! I tried the chocolate turnover and cranberry pastry, and both were unexpectedly scrumptious. I also appreciated that they cater to those with special dietary restrictions, making it a great spot for everyone to enjoy. Highly recommend!
Jared H — Google review
The Barista Jennifer was fantastic however I have to give a one star to management who decided it was okay to have one person working the entire store on a very busy holiday weekend. Poor girl was slammed with customers and had zero help. It's unfortunate when businesses put their pocketbooks ahead of all else.

A book lover's dream. There is an expansive art gallery downstairs as well as several shelves of regional books, coloring books, journals, nature guides, and books by local authors. There's a good selection of greeting cards. Attached is a delicious coffee shop with fresh baked goods, paninis, and clam chowder. Upstairs is a collection of used books. Each time I visit Gold Beach I treat myself to a book or two.

Jerrys Rogue Jets is a long-standing adventure company located on the Rogue River in Oregon, offering thrilling jet boat tours that have been running for over a century. The tours cover more than 50 miles of the river, providing breathtaking scenery and exciting experiences as the skilled drivers perform fun and daring maneuvers. Passengers can enjoy close-up views of wildlife such as seals, eagles, osprey, deer, and otters along the way.
I love Jerry's room jets. It is just an awesome adventure to go on. From booking to boarding, sightseeing wildlife viewing with information, 2 white waters and exciting spins, our captain Brandon Matthews was awesome! Polite, hilarious and informative! He really knows how to make that boat move! Lunch was also delicious at the Cougar Lane Lodge. My wife and I both had the same thing. I can't remember what the name of it was, but it was brisket, pulled pork (I forget the 3rd meat) Baked beans and coleslaw. DELICIOUS and they don't want you leaving hungry! The meal was included with or trip. We had the 4 hour express tour. The Cougar Lodge also has a bar. I had a nice cold beer and my wife had a Margarita. We will definitely go again and again and again. The one thing I am sad about is I did not get to take Brandon's dog home. His name was Tripp, and if you get the pleasure to be sitting with him, he is a lovable, soft, fluffy, friendly companion!

We had a fantastic experience taking the mail route jet boat tour of the rogue river. Tour was about 4.5 hours total, included an excellent BBQ lunch and cost $99 dollars, they also offer longer and shorter options. The boat captain did a wonderful job of keeping us entertained and piloting the boat. The ride was smooth and enjoyable, we also saw lots of wildlife including bald eagles, river otters, blue Herons, and more. As a day trip this was an excellent choice, I highly recommend giving Jerry's Jets a shot. We were also entertained by the captains dog Tripp. My hat is off to captain Brandon Mathews.

Awesome 104 mile round trip jet boat tour of the rogue river. Would recommend hot summer day to take the tour. They will get you wet which is quite refreshing on a hot day. The food stop is excellent. Plenty of wildlife on the trip. Would recommend a day when they aren't crowded with hydroplane races and rafting tours on the river.
Garrett M — Google review
Definitely would recommend! We did the express tour and had a blast. We got a little of everything Scenery, wildlife, rapids. Kevin and Rue were the perfect guides. Kevin was engaging and funny. He made sure everyone was enjoying the ride. He was knowledgeable and made sure to point out things we might not see. The lunch was fantastic. Tasted so good and was plenty to fill you up. PS make sure your lunch ticket is in a waterproof bag.
Christina M — Google review
We booked WILDERNESS WHITEWATER, which was an 6-hour tour. The view was beautiful, meal was great. 6 hour was too long for us, we got wet and exhausted at the end, but over all it was a great experience. I recommend 2 hour tour for the first time visitors!
Adocavo — Google review
I can't believe I waited so long to experience such an amazing adventure. The driver was very knowledgeable and entertaining. The lunch break was perfect. The food was hot and well prepared. I am looking forward to another trip to Southern Oregon and spending a day with Jerry's Jet Boats.

We went on the adventure trip. Trip was amazing from start to finish. Employees in the gift shop and check in were great! I have no idea how the pilots know where to go but I'm glad they do. So much fun. Lunch was yummy and fast. A friend suggested wearing bathing suit bottoms under clothes, good tip. Drys quickly. Planning a trip with the rest of our family. We'll worth the cost. You won't regret it.

We had a great time with Pilot Darin for my mom’s 65th birthday. The scenery is beautiful including several waterfalls and bridges, as well as varying levels of white water rapids. the jet boat is comfortable and felt safe. We opted for the 104 mile, 6 hour round trip and had an absolute blast! Saw several bald eagles and the BBQ lunch at Cougar Lane lodge was delicious. This is a must-do tour on the Oregon coast! Beautiful drive to get there also.

Staff were very helpful ensuring the dry ice was packed properly, not burn the salmon and would last the 2 day trip home. It was perfectly frozen and went right into the deep freezer when I got home. I appreciate the guidance. They have really good selection of smoked fish too!!

The Port Hole Cafe is a popular spot known for its laid-back vibe and diverse menu featuring sandwiches, burgers, and seafood. With a wide selection of microbrews on tap, it's a great place to unwind while enjoying scenic water views. The cafe's waterfront location at the mouth of the Rogue River adds to its charm, making it an ideal setting for a delicious meal. Visitors have praised the friendly atmosphere and quick service, noting that the food is fresh and satisfying.
Pleasantly surprised. Older place and my expectations weren’t that high. BUT…the blackened fish san was the most delicious thing I’ve eaten so far on this trip. It was mouth watering. I will be dreaming of this sandwich for months to come that good. Sat by a window with a view of seals. Highly recommend. We also had the fish and chips which was good but not as amazing as the blackened fish.

I really liked the oysters here! We had shooters and my husband had the fried oyster platter. I haven't seen oysters that big outside of New Orleans. They were tasty, and the fried ones were cooked well. I also had the crab melt which was nice and I liked being able to get blue cheese with my sweet potato fries. The clam chowder was so so for me (a bit heavy on the potatoes and light on the clams.) Service was quick and they brought a member of our party a dessert for his birthday. It was a rainy day, but still a nice view.

Great food! Cool little place in gold beach, we had the calamari strips and is was long pieces of chunk squid! Wow! the cocktail sauce is made with horseradish and yumm! All the fish really tasted fresh and very good. Also had a cup of clam chowder and loved it, it wasn't real salty like some. Great staff and atmosphere, right on the water in the port!😃 we will be back!

Popped in here with seafood on my mind, they delivered! Try the Mama's special, Fried Cod, it's excellent. And I was sat at a table with a view of the harbor/bay with the sunset and the boats at the docks.

Pizza restaurant
Family restaurant
Fast food restaurant
Sunset Family Pizza, located in Gold Beach, is an old-fashioned pizza parlor that offers a variety of delicious food options. Their menu features specialties such as pizzas, sandwiches, salads, and even gluten-free pizza. The restaurant operates from 11am to 8pm on Sundays to Thursdays and extends its business hours until 10pm on Fridays and Saturdays. Unlike traditional table service, customers are required to order at the counter upon entering the establishment.
Call it in or it's about a 20ish minute wait. The price is very fair. Cheapest place to eat in Gold Beach. Large pizza is huge and it's just over $20. The inside is cozy, with all the art and carvings. And the fireplace.
Deej T — Google review
Around 38 dollars with tip for a large pizza on take out … it’s starting to get pretty expensive not their fault it’s just the way things are nowadays. Pizza was good had a combo today as a local I don’t eat here as often as I’d like. But every once in a while I wanna support the local economy and not be bothered to cook:). Pizza had a very thin crust and I like that plenty of cheese and toppings and they give ya a lot of ranch and peppers etc with your take out so I think giving them the tip on takeout is warranted. We use to come here often when we had kids and I think this is where this place really shines having all the fun video games, pool table and claw games. So if your passing through and need a spot to take a break and eat some pizza this is the spot .. enjoy.
Tonio E — Google review
It is a unique place to grab pizza. I'm glad we chose to go here. The pizza has great flavor with a nice, crisp crust. The fries were great, along with the onion rings. It was a joy to have good pizza again. (We don't have good pizza where we live). -Regina

We had the best time stopping here with our kids on our drive up the coast! It's definitely a special spot for us now so we will stop here again next time we are coming through. We got the tri-tip pizza and it was excellent. The kids enjoyed the cheese pizza a lot. It was definitely fun and family friendly atmosphere. Loved that we could see the ocean while we ate! The arcade was really fun. We had a trouble with a couple of the games because they're older, but we still had a blast overall.
Suzanne L — Google review
First time here and looking for a quick bite. I ordered the mini pepperoni pizza and a beer (11$ total order), and it was very mini, and I don't recall it saying it was like guessing a 6 inch round, lol The toppings were very, very thin and not a lot of cheese and sauce. But overall, the price says it all. The service was very slow, and for such a tiny pizza, it took a while to get my plate. I will try again with a larger pizza and see how it goes that way.
Kevin T — Google review
Stopped here for dinner on our first night in Gold Beach. Place was pretty packed, which is always a good sign. Staff were super friendly. Prices were reasonable. It wasn't much of a wait, despite being busy. Gave my family an opportunity to play some pool. And Sunset.. aptly named, because we saw a beautiful sunset while eating. Highly recommend!

Great pizza joint... my pizza was hot and tasty, spot on on the toppings. Pizza on the coast doesn't get much better than this

Staff was very friendly. Restaurant was clean and loved the fireplaces. The combo pizza was good but to much cheese on top, kills the flavors of the meat and veggies. Nice crisp thin crust. Would I return, yes!

The museum features a timeline showcasing the history of the area from prehistoric times to modern settlement, along with an array of artifacts. Visitors can explore this museum for free and also admire the taxidermy display on the opposite wall.
Very good gift shop with reasonable prices. The photo from the boat ride is only $10 which is very much worth it!! This place also has a tiny section of the place dedicated to local natural history including flora and fauna and Native American history and culture and artifacts. Very interesting!

Great little gift shop and museum attached to Jerry's Rogue River Jet Boat Tours. Definitely make a point to stop here after your boat tour, they have tons of gift and souvenir options. This is also where you can pick up your photograph taken during the boat tour.yje museum is brief but we'll worth a look into the history of the Rogue River. Staff were friendly and prices are reasonable, check it out if you are in Gold Beach.

I was on a bus tour down the west coast and we stopped here for a jet boat ride up the rouge river. Our captian (Brandon I believe) was phenomenal! Drove the boat like a champ, was extremely knowledgeable about the river and all the wildlife, was funny and engaging and best of all brought his dog on board! We were able to see bald eagles, turkey vultures, herons, harbor seals. Absolutely beautiful scenery. The 2 on site gift shops were awesome too!

Truly amazing experience. It is wonderful for a family trip along the way. If you do choose this I absolutely recommend the 104 mile trip, it is definitely worth it. Friendly staff. Make sure to bring money for lunch, I would recommend $20 per person (more if you want alcohol). Very cool thing to witness. Lots of wildlife views along the way as well. The tour guides paint a picture with lots of backstory.

Place was great. There was lots of hand crafted gifts and hand turned bowls and even the shop was amazing and full. Although when it came to the jewelry it was not high quality which in my experience is only alright when the rest of the product is at the same value. Great shop over all

We came into Rogue River Myrtlewoods based on a recommendation from my dad. Nice shop, veteran owned. Mike the owner walked me through his different products and we grabbed a couple items. Highly recommend this shop. He knows what he’s selling, and can walk you through it all. Really enjoyed talking with him and love the items even more.
Jason B — Google review
I stopped by this store last summer as my husband was bicycling down the Oregon coast. I had stopped at several myrtlewood shops, hoping to find something special to take home with me to remember the trip. And this store was fantastic. I bought one of their large lighthouses, they are all one-of-a-kind with different bases and different patterns along the lighthouse portion, and soldered window panes. It makes a beautiful pattern on the wall when the light is on. The shop owners were so nice and even gave us a tour of their woodworking shop in the back. They make everything there by hand. Such a great place!

I go for the locally made jam! It was delicious. Fun shop with lots of selection.

I purchased a lighthouse years ago and it's still just as beautiful as the day I bought it. It's a reminder of our vacation on the Oregon coast. I've contacted them a couple times through the years for info on replacement bulbs and an issue with the cord and they were very helpful and resolved my issue promptly. Great people, awesome artistry!!

Prehistoric Gardens is a small but well-maintained tourist attraction featuring lifelike dinosaur models set in an ancient temperate rainforest. The attraction offers visitors the opportunity to explore a carefully painted path that winds past bubbling creeks and lush ferns, all while surrounded by hanging moss and the sound of falling rain. This is an ideal destination for families with young children who will delight in seeing the dinosaurs up close while getting some exercise in the great outdoors.
I’ve come here since I was a kid and it never gets old. It’s truly an Oregon coast gem and it’s been around for 70 years. It’s such a cool piece of property with so many different plans, trees and of course life sized dinosaurs. Highly recommend!
Tyler G — Google review
I'm so happy that we stopped in with our grandsons. The park is beautiful and worth the time spent. The lady working was not so friendly. We did not know that the gift shop was the end of the tour. She was clearly aggravated with us and had an attitude. Even when trying to go over the rules with the kids. All in all, we think this is a fun place. -Regina
Gregg B — Google review
Total tourist trap. It’s really pretty, and my kiddo loved it, but parents should be free. It’s really small, the walk is short, and it’s not worth the price. Just take a photo with the T-Rex in front, go into the gift shop if you want, and move on.
Elizabeth W — Google review
We found this quirky roadside gem while driving down Highway 101 and had to stop! There’s a cute dino-themed gift shop and a short trail full of delightfully cheesy dinosaur sculptures, took us about 20 minutes to walk through. Such a fun, nostalgic stop and totally worth it if you’re cruising the 101!
Mariah S — Google review
The prehistoric creatures are in no way realistic, but I went in knowing that. The dinosaurs are very retro and a ton of fun. Additionally, the setting was absolutely gorgeous, a rain forest of ferns and mosses skunk cabbage and tropicals with massive leaves. Enjoyable for adults, and if you have children then definitely take them!

Definitely worth visiting. The views are awesome. The sandstone formations at the point are like being on another planet. I have been here three times in the last five years and it never disappoints. The road is a little rough going in but don't be in a hurry and you will be fine. The road in is less than a 1/4 mile to the parking area.
Michael T — Google review
Very very beautiful beach! You can walk the trail to otter point and the view is stunning. But be fair warned you can not get to the beach from that trail. We went left at the trail head to the costal trail and walked for about 30 minutes with no ways to access the beach ether so we turned around. Right before leaving we noticed a trail to the right of the parking lot (across from the actual trailhead). We walked the short trail up and down and across a stream to find a rope trail down a cliff side. While it wasn’t extremely hard or dangerous please note you will get muddy!!! If not on the way down, on the way back!! No restrooms, no picnic tables, no other amenities. Just nature and a trail.
April S — Google review
It has 2 ways to go. A short one for an upper view and a longer one for a beach walk. A nice place to spend an hour or spend a day.
Mais K — Google review
This was in the first week of September. Amazing weather and views of the ocean and rock formations. There's no safety rail or whatever, so I wouldn't recommend going too close to the edge. You can see that there's a lot of erosion happening and cave-ins. No beach access, or we didn't really notice it. A short walk to access the cliff.
Stef L — Google review

The Gold Beach Visitor's Center is a great starting point for exploring the area, offering helpful staff and information on local attractions. The center is located near a beautiful beach with a paved trail providing easy access to stunning ocean views. While some visitors noted that the facilities could use improvement, others enjoyed the clean porta-potties and convenient parking. The beach itself offers tranquility and natural beauty, with soft sand and picturesque waves.
Good parking lot, with short trail access to the beach. Stunning views of the ice cold water and ocean sands. There were also 3 harbor seals in the surf early in the AM on my walk :) fun to see!
Sovhan M — Google review
Beautiful beach with wonderful photo opportunities. The access trail to the beach is a really nice touch for people with mobility issues, and has a nice handicap trail! The beach is clean and goes both directions around the town, and is great for long walks or just a relaxing day. The parking area and visitor center are located on the south end of town, and the access road is a little steep but not terrible, however I Wouldn't recommend large campers. There is a playground area for children, and a large parking lot right at the access point to the beach area with the visitor center located by the playground. So far on our trip up and down the coast, we would say this is one of my favorite beaches that we have visited, and I would recommend it . It's a great Beach for all ages and abilities. The handicap Trail only goes to the sand but it gives you a beautiful view of the water and the hills around the ocean.
Tracy W — Google review
I appreciate that there is an info center with nice, helpful folks. The parking lot is roomy and a convenient spot to get regrouped, take in the view, have a picnic, and walk out to the beach. It's nice to have restrooms available for the folks visiting or passing through; however, the last few times I've tried to use them, the cleanliness and maintenance were bad. For example, the cleaner of the two stalls, the lock didn't work, and the larger stall that did have a working lock, someone had taken a huge dump (no other way to say it) and either missed the toilet or it overflowed because there was a huge disgusting pile of it hanging on the side of the bowl. It was dried out, which tells me it had been left like that for quite a while. I just about lost my breakfast and did not use either of them. I know it's a tough job keeping these public places clean. I hope you get the help and funding you need to hopefully improve the situation with these facilities. To their credit, once I let them know about it, it was cleaned up when I checked back a couple hours later. Thank you to whoever had the misfortune to have to do that. I'm sorry you have to deal with messes like that, but you are MUCH appreciated!

Very nice visitor center on the Southern end of town. Not as well marked as it could be, but worth searching for the sign. The center is down near the beach with a nice trail leading to a beautiful beach. Very helpful people to give you ideas for where to go. The trail is paved down to a beautiful view of the ocean, so wheelchairs and strollers can go that far, but is sand the rest of the way.
Denise L — Google review
The staff here are very kind and helpful! Lots of information on things to do in the area. Good parking and easy access to the beach. In the summers they even put down a mat on the trail which makes it possible for people with wheelchairs to go look at the beach

We didn't go into the visitor's center. We hoped for decent restrooms but there were only dirty porta-potties. Nice picnic area. Children's play area was dingy; not very welcoming. A fresh coat of paint would be helpful. Beach was nearly deserted. The beach was littered with lovely, rounded stones, and the incoming waves were spectacular. The sand was soft for sitting and taking in the view. Handicapped parking was available with an asphalt trail to picnic tables but not to the beach.

What a surprise this area. We stop for a picnic and could discover a piece of history. The Geisel family cemetery tells the story of early settlers, from 1854, who were killed I the massacre of February 22 1856. We read more in Wikipedia to discover more about the family and story.

I highly recommend Blue Raincoat Art Gallery to individuals who appreciate the mesmerizing coastal beauty of the Gold Beach area and desire to incorporate a touch of that enchantment into their living spaces. The artists at this gallery beautifully capture the untamed essence of the ocean, beaches, rivers, forests, and diverse creatures found along Southern Oregon's coast. This local gem offers a vast selection of original pieces and prints depicting local landscapes, wildlife, flora, fauna & fungi.
This is a beautiful art gallery. All the paintings are done by Magda and her daughter. I spent a very enjoyable time looking at the beautiful art and visiting with Magda. She was very enjoyable to get to know. Most of her paintings seemed to be local areas and beautiful ocean landscapes. I was very happy to learn she also has cards she had made. There is a lot to see, and it is very worth going in for a browse.
