They do a really good job with this "museum." You can go on the train ride into the museum, guided by a retired coal mine worker. There are also other actual buildings from other coal mine camps that have been relocated to this location - - two room schoolhouse, chapel, managers house, bachelor's house, and a very nice complete children's museum. Good exhibits and artifacts. Pretty grounds. Certainly can spend a half a day or more there.

This wasn't on my first list of stops but I am so glad we added it! Our guide Gerald was absolutely a wealth of knowledge and had so much to offer. The mine tour, cabins and exhibits were all very well done. It may even be on my list to revisit if I'm in the area again! Excellent on every account!!

This was truly the best part of our trip to beautiful West Virginia. Absolutely loved our tour guide Gerald. He was so kind, knowledgeable and personable. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND this tour to anyone young or old. It was a great time!

I visited due to being a Fallout 76 nerd. It was a great experience. Everyone I met was incredibly friendly and welcoming. The woman in the schoolhouse shared fascinating historical details that really brought the setting to life. My mine tour guide, Don, was a retired coal miner who added so much depth to the tour. He spoke about growing up in a mining town, the realities of coal mining, and how the company store system kept miners trapped in debt. It was immersive and a wonderful visit.

My family and I planned a trip with several stops. This one was great to learn some of the coal history in Beckley and have the chance to ride a railcar into a once working mine. They only hire retired coal miners to give the tour, so you are getting the real deal! Clean facility, great tours and friendly people.

We had the best time on this tour. And their prices were unbelievably reasonable, even the things in the gift shop were priced so most people could afford something. This really meant a lot to this broke mama! Our guide was absolutely amazing too, a retired coal worker who knew literally everything. Even the 2 15 year olds were engaged and learned some really cool things while being entertained. I apologize again to our guide for us rushing him, we really loved this tour! This was by far my favorite part of our trip to the area.

This museum is really cool if you're into history or coal mining or both. The guides are all former coal miners (our guide was 3rd generation) and they are very informative and in depth as they take you into an old mine from the late 1800s. It's a very unique experience and one I would highly recommend for anybody visiting the Southern West Virginia area.

A nice place to take a break from driving, but if you aren't interested in buying art pieces, it might not be for you. There were plenty of nice things to look at and some local food items (think jams and jellies). There were a few t-shirts and souvenir items, and a place to get some snacks and sit. If you're looking for local hand-crafted pieces, this is the place.

The facility is beautiful with wonderful products made in West Virginia. They also have one of the tourist swings you can take photos at. I took pictures of some stuff I liked. I no where near captured everything.

This has been a tourist attraction in wv off of I-77 for as long as I can remember. I’ve stopped here many times over the years and love to look at all the beautiful artistic creations from the people of my awesome state. Today I stopped here while I’m on a mission to find all the “almost heaven” swings with my husband. The building and grounds are beautiful and unique.

Wife and I have been here on a few occasions. A must see destination for local artistry of West Virginia, Virginia. Also, they allow campers and they have water on site only for RV freshwater holding tanks. A nice quiet place to stop for the day or evening and tour to see all of the artist work.

While visiting Beckley WVA my wife and I stopped by the Tamarack Marketplace to see what it was all about. This was our first time at the Marketplace and I haven't seen anything like this out west where we live so, it was a new experience for us. The marketplace was very impressive inside and out with so many beautiful things and an array of items including food, wine, glassware, pottery, quality woodworks, quilts, jewelry, restaurants and coffee. There is something here for everyone no matter the occasion and taste you'll find it at the Marketplace. It is a great place to visit. The service, the employees and the food was great.

Loved the different varieties of local art and craftsmanship. The atmosphere was nice really easy to walk around and want everything they had to offer. We only got coffee but it was fresh and good too.

Really great place to stop by if you are passing through. All items are created by local artisans. You can create your own glass blown ornaments or atch the process being done. I was really impresed by this chainsaw made completoit of wood...even the chain!

Awsome food! Fabulous service! Great atmosphere. We took my aunt here for her 90th birthday. I had steak marsala which came with mixed vegetables and mashed potatoes. The wine sauce was delicious. My wife had the swordfish special. Everyone in our party enjoyed their food. I can't say enough about our server, who was awesome. Expect the best and plan to spend a little money.

Really good food, almost five star. It's just that my wife is an amazing cook, and she has a better recipe for some of these dishes. A little pricey, but I expect it since running a restaurant today is very difficult. The ribeye steak was delicious but only a little better than Texas Roadhouse. (Maybe that tells you something about my lack of expertise in judging steaks, I don't know). Service was great. House salad and dressing was wonderful. Portions were modest.

Our server, Shanda, was lovely, personable, and explained the menu very well. We came with 3 kids (ages 10, 8, & 6). Even though this is a more formal affair, our kids were excepted and we never felt out of place. Our kids are kids, but are well behaved. The food and portions were more than enough. EVERYTHING tasted amazing!!!

The atmosphere, food and experience is always a treat. The servers are very well trained and most of the staff has worked here for many years. When we travel, we rarely (if ever), find a better steak. When vendors, clients, family, etc come in to town everyone wants to eat The Char!

The only problem that I had was that the tables were a little to close to each other. I walk with a cane, so the tables were a little close. The restaurant itself; amazing food and amazing staff. The price of everything mirrored the quality, staff and overall atmosphere of the place. I will definitely go there again.

We were looking forward to a nice dinner and my filet was a disappointment. Asking for it to be cooked medium, it came out more than done, not any pink whatsoever. The replacement was only slightly better. My husband enjoyed his salmon and the vegetables were nicely seasoned. The cherry bread pudding was also lackluster. The waitress did all she could to make it better by discounting the meal and not charging for the dessert. The atmosphere is pleasant, my only suggestion is to not order a steak.

I took my family of five here and we had an amazing time! This mini golf course is not only fun but also packed with rich West Virginia history, which added such a unique touch to the experience. Each hole had its own personality—creative, challenging, and really well thought-out. I especially loved the historical names and facts at each hole—they made the course feel like a fun learning adventure. My only suggestion would be to refresh some of the paper signs and fact sheets, as a few were weathered and hard to read. It would be great to see that info more clearly because it adds so much to the experience. The place is family-owned, and you can feel the heart in it. They also offer rock climbing, which looked like a blast—definitely something I’d love to try next time! And of course, who doesn’t love ice cream at the end of a game? If I ever find myself back in WV, I’ll be sure to stop by again. 10/10—highly recommend for families, couples, or anyone looking for a fun and memorable outing!

We had a fun time and spent a couple hours at this spot while visiting and whitewater rafting The New River over the weekend! The course is in rough shape on a couple holes and you have to watch your step. A little TLC and you could have a 5 star spot!

Super cute place. Great customer service and ice cream! Unique mini golf course with informational placards and fun statues along the way. Worth a visit if you're in the area though the course could use a little refreshing.

Such a unique mini golf course! Don’t make any bets—this is a difficult course. But the trivia/information about the state of WV at each hole was interesting and the details and setup was fun. We didn’t get ice cream or coffee at the adjoining shops but it looked yummy.

We caught a warm day in winter and I’m so glad we took advantage of it by spending time in the sun playing mini golf! Employees were great! We really enjoyed the plaques with the history/info. The course isn’t perfect but it was fun and worth the price. We will definitely be back!

Stopped in on our way out of Beckley after visiting New River Gorge NP to play Miniature Golf. Storms had rolled through the night before so course had some sticks and other debris on it which even though we arrived right as the course opened, the owner came out, was extremely friendly, and leaf-blowed the whole course. Getting to the course: best mini golf course I've ever played. Fun, exciting, cool signs to read at each hole, all about WV. After the round, stopped inside, awesome shop! Coffee and tea were great, have cool souvenirs. Staff was very friendly, the girl (forgot to catch her name) who primarily handled our order was awesome, said she had visited Buffalo! Overall a must-stop when in the area!

What an amazing cute museum. You can go to just the museum or it’s part of the exhibition coal mine. It’s $5 to go to just the museum. They change the attractions 2xs a year. This time around it was Eric Carle. We spent about an hour there. Definitely recommend it for ages 2-6 though there are some older kids puzzles.

My son is 3, he had a blast. We will definitely be going back. The staff was very friendly and even played with us.

This is an okay kids museum, they have one indoor exhibit, and a small dome planetarium. The staff is dedicated, and the twelve minute stargazing show is very well done. Don't expect to spend more than an hour here. If possible combine your visit with the coal museum, if that is open. Hours are not updated on Google, so calling is good.

Grew up in Beckley and always loved it there. I'm glad now to bring my own kids! I've also had three different film production teams there for various films and shows. They are always great to work with and I love showing our mine off to the out of state teams!!

Pretty much an oversized room with different little play areas. If you're just looking to get out of the house, play with some new toys or change of pace it's great! I wouldn't be surprised if most kids got bored with it after a few trips but it sounds like they switch it up seasonally so probably depends on the kid. We were visiting the area and went twice. My 7year old was bored the second time, the toddlers still were interested.

The youth museum was an amazing experience for our 3yo. She had so much fun learning the letters and numbers on the interactive exhibit. The underground tour of the mine captivating and extremely informative. The tour guide Kenny was very nice and knowledgeable about coal history. 10/10 will do again, and I highly recommend for you too as well.

Great museum! Everyone that works there is friendly. The guide was knowledgeable and you can tell he is passionate about the history of veterans. It is a great place for people of all ages. Every Veteran's Day, they have a ceremony. Definitely worth a visit.

From the outside, it looks like this tiny little museum. On the inside, you see so much, and the staff is very knowledgeable. It is a must visit.

I was skeptical about this place due to lack of the recent reviews. But. The appetizer medium spicy wings were absolutely delicious! The meat was tender and flavorful. Didn’t take a photo of the wings cause we were so hungry. I had New Orleans sandwich with blackened catfish and asked to change a bun to a grilled pita. It was a very delicious sandwich! Fish was perfect, right amount of spice and was basically falling apart. My husband’s burger was ok. Was ok, because we had the best burgers in Knoxville, TN. And another reason to visit this place - their beer. Awesome beer selection!

Great service with fun, interesting staff. Very good food at reasonable prices. Perfectly crispy and juicy wings. Neat old house makes a wonderfully cozy atmosphere. Beer was all very sweet by our tastes, but reasonably enjoyable. Great kudos for tackling brewing, even if they weren't our personal favourites; the beer is what intrigued is to go in the first place, and we're so glad we did. The outlier was the stout, which was relatively dry and slightly smokey - we'd love some more of it.

Visited in October 2014. At Dobra Zupas in Beckley, WV, one West Virginian beer was available on tap, but no local bottles were offered. Despite this, the beer selection was quite impressive. The place was bustling during our visit, so we were directed to dine upstairs where we found ourselves dining alone. The Aloha sandwich we ordered was quite satisfactory.

What a hidden gem! We stumbled across them on a trip back from OBX in June 2022. Tired and sick of the traffic Dobra Zupas was a wonderful place to refresh! Do not leave without ordering the fried goat cheese with jalapeño jam. Their brews were a delightful bonus! Recently on our drive from MB to Ohio we planned our stops to include dinner at Dobra Zupas. We enjoyed fried green tomatoes with a wonderful spicy sauce. You won’t be disappointed with the cheese bacon fries. The service was great even though they were very busy. We will be back!

This restaurant was such a pleasant surprise. I had the fried goat cheese with the jalapeño jelly...so delicious. The shrimp PO Boy, the burger with fried goat cheese was awesome. You cannot go wrong with any choice here. I visited st least six days out of a 10 day business trip. The waiters ate professional, friendly and knowledgeable about each dish. The restaurant is clean, cute and cozy. I can't say enough.

I had the goat cheese burger and my gran had the black and Bleu. She loved hers and I absolutely think this is the best burger I’ve ever had. Fried goat cheese, jalapeño pepper jelly. Sweet and savory all rolled into one scrumptious burger. We’ll be back!

Rocky will take care of you... It's a classic craft brew place, which was the first in the town and still the only for over 5 years. Classic pub brews and fare favorites, most everyone will enjoy. The old house, bar/restaurant is decorated very well, with about 11 tables, cool bar, and great decor throughout.

I didn't get to go inside but it was so interesting to know that my 4th great Aunt Jane Rapp Beckley was the 2nd wife of General Alfred Beckley who's father John Beckley was the first Librarian of Congress, a close friend to Thomas Jefferson and signed the Bill of Rights. You wonder what their lives were like and the struggles they had. I hope one day I get to explore the home my family once lived in.

The Wildwood House is one of the most historic sites in Beckley, WV. The Historical Society has an annual Open House with reenactment ent and house tours with refreshments. Great historical information. A can't miss event.

It's fine, I think I expected it to be better. The meatball was very good, the sauce was just plain and didn't have much flavor besides "tomato". I can't recommend the garlic bread (just mostly greasy and not a great garlic flavor or good bready texture), but I did get it to go and maybe it's better fresh and not after being wrapped in tin foil. The side salad is romaine and chopped fresh tomato with your choice of dressing. Service was good.

Just wanted to say thank you for your delicious food and service yesterday. We were there honoring my great aunt Leva Valentine. The accommodations were perfect for all 60 of us. We were in the private room in the back. The food was amazing perfectly delicious. I had the salmon and vegetables with the cheesecake for dessert. My sister and my brother had the cheese ravioli and shrimp scampi. They were also bragging how delicious the food was. Our Server was super attentive and very friendly. I work in the restaurant business and was highly impressed. I also had a delicious dirty martini, perfectly made by your professional bartender. Yesterday‘s event was 10s 10s 10s across the board for me. We all had a beautiful memorable experience that will be talked about for years. Thank you to all of your staff. I will definitely be back..

It was convenient! Right next door to the hotel I stayed at for the night. Walked right over and seated right away. Decent menu and prices are not too bad. Full bar was a plus. I ordered the Chicken Parm. Came with a salad and I opted for the veggies instead of the pasta. The chicken parm was OK - not bad - just OK. The chicken patties were breaded and tasted like a frozen chicken patty from Costco. Solid portions though. Veggies were a little under cooked but seasoned well and also a very good portion. People around me ordered the pizza and it all looked really good. It hit the spot but definitely not a 5 star experience. I feel people are too generous with a 5 star rating here.

We stopped here for dinner on a Sunday in May after visiting the New River Gorge bridge. We checked yelp and TripAdvisor and this restaurant was highly rated. We almost didn’t come here because from the Google review photos we thought it was in the Clarion hotel but it is not. There was not host at the stand when we came in but we saw a couple people in the bar area so that’s where we sat. We waited a few minutes for a bartender - she said she was changing shifts from being in the dining room to the bar but was pleasant and helpful. We orders drinks and dinner - salmon and the penne with chicken. Both came with side salads which were good. Mine had a little too much dressing on it but it was good so I just dipped the bread in it. I think the bread was dusted with everything bagel seasoning but I’m not 100% sure. It was definitely seasoned. Our meals were good. The vegetables that came with my salmon were very good and her was plenty to share. The penne was a big portion too and we could have taken half to go but we were traveling so we didn’t. Our bar neighbor recommended the chocolate cake for dessert. We did ask if they make the desserts in house but they do not. We took a piece of the cake to go. It was ok. Not the best I ever had but not the worst. The atmosphere was casual and quiet in the bar anyway. Prices were good. Parking was easy.

We had a birthday party at this location and they did an excellent job. The good was good and everyone had a great time. We had about 40 people and the help were efficient and helpful. All and all it was a great event and they are highly recommended.

My wife and I had dinner here midweek. We were seated immediately, and it took little time for our waiter to appear. He was attentive throughout our meal, and we appreciated the lack of noise as we ate. The only complaint I have is with some of the food. My wife had the stuffed flounder, which she said was quite good. I wanted chicken parmesan, but in questioning the waiter I learned it was made with a ground chicken patty, which turned me off (I would have expected chicken breast at a place like this). So, I ordered the eggplant parmesan with spaghetti. It came baked in a casserole dish with the pasta on the side. Unfortunately, the eggplant was cooked to the point it was indistinguishable from the overabundance of sauce it was in. I would suggest more eggplant, less sauce, and cooked less so the eggplant doesn't almost liquify. I would add that the staff was friendly and attentive.

Everything about this place was pretty nice, including our waiter. I got the parmesan veal and a chocolate cannoli. The building itself looks very Italian and has a good vibe to its interior.

Traveling through and stopped for dinner. We were pleasantly surprised! The food was fresh and delicious. The roll was incredible and freshly made as well! Prices were very reasonable and the option size was large! I had the roast beef wrap and my friend had the steak and potatoes. Definitely a must try!

My family grew up in Beckley and King Tut was always a staple for food. We unfortunately moved away and many years later we are back visiting and just had to stop here for the sake of nostalgia. It is exactly how we remembered it. Delicious food and still the same friendly service. The experience is what makes it so fun and the menu goes on forever. King Tut was part of my childhood and I'm so happy to experience it again in my adult years.

I visited this place over the weekend, after 10 years of being away from town. It was great to see that the place was still thriving and busy. I ordered the Chicken Wrap, Chicken Parmesan Sandwich, and Tater Tots. I noticed that many dine-in customers were enjoying the hotdogs, which looked very appetizing. My to-go order took around 40 minutes to be ready, so call ahead for take out orders.

It is one of the best places to eat, especially hotdogs! 12/31/22: Update my family just got take out. My uncle ordered pulled pork bbq sandwhich. Smh, the sandwich is so little that it will fit in the palm of his hand. The only good thing about their food is the hot dogs, as I said in my first review at the top. I lowered my star rating.

Food was excellent as was our server. I put together a family dinner there with one of my sons, my mom and my ex husband before we went to see superman. We were able to talk, order, eat, and talk some more in 45 minutes. We got a medium cheese pizza, 2 club sandwiches one with fries one with a house salad, a Philly cheesesteak and another medium cheese to go. They have coke products. The atmosphere is actually the best of both worlds. We accidentally came through the back where the bar is - it was very warm and busy with lots of smiling people chatting etc it was nice. A little loud for our outing though, we went into the front part of the restaurant which was much quieter and offered the kind of atmosphere I was looking for in this occasion. The booths are adorable and have hooks for your purse. They are a bit narrow but there are big tables in the center aisle as well if you like more space. The parking situation is excellent. All the staff I encountered were friendly and professional. This is a good spot.

It was very good. I am a musician and Calacino's has a vibrant live music scene. The band this night was really good. I had spaghetti and meatballs instead of my usual pizza, and it was fantastic. The waitress took good care of us. Good experience all around

The lobster ravioli here has been some of the best I've ever tasted. The cream sauce tastes is very flavorful. The pepperoni rolls are great for a sharing side. My husband's sausage and chicken pizza tasted phenomenal. Definitely get the reese's peanut butter cake if you want a sweet ending to your meal.

This place has delicious food, airy space helps us have a very interesting party. The staff is quite friendly, they are very enthusiastic. However, the crowded and noisy atmosphere affects the privacy.

A great place! My husband and I wanted a sports bar to watch football and this place was perfect. Food, drinks and prices were fantastic! Lots of tv's, friendly people and fun atmosphere.

Nice pieces that give you a artistic view of the City of Beckley

My seven year old granddaughter and I spent three wonderful hours at the Beckley Art Center Saturday afternoon. She play games, joined in the music activities, and created a nice painting on canvas that I've proudly displayed on the wall at home. We also met some great folks there and learned more about our new home town.

Amazing gallery. Impressive collection of various art eras, impressions, photos that are impressive forms/reflections of art and more! You should go. I could spend all day here!!!

Our only facility near uptown beckley that exposes University students and locals alike to painting, sculpture, mixed media, many other expressions of artistic creation... Where very Lucky to have this in our area.

The studio was clean and had a calming atmosphere. Everyone was very helpful and welcoming. The class offered a great workout and the instructor was very professional but also energetic and fun! It was a wonderful first experience can't wait to come back!

The instructor was warm, friendly and inviting. As well as the regular patrons, who had encouraged me to come back and to try all the different classes. It felt more family orientated than just another yoga studio.

The class was challenging and led by a very knowledgeable instructor, Dewana. She provided great instruction and technique. There were extras Dewana provided to make the experience even more enjoyable like cooling towels, scented oils, lemon water, etc. Everyone in the class was so welcoming. It was a great experience!

The ambiance at Balanced Life Studios is excellent for creating a serene and beautiful space where everyone may feel comfortable and welcome. The instructors are knowledgeable and kind, the facility is clean and safe, and the overall fitness/wellness experience is transcendent.

The studio deserves a 10 out of 10 plus. Dewana was welcoming and showed us around the studio. There were so many personal touches to both the class and the studio as a whole (cold scented clothes, warm towels, lots of equipment , organic Popsicles, mint-infused water). Amazing personal touches. The quality of the class was topnotch. The instructor also gave permission for modifications throughout the class.

Slides and stuff are great. Place is clean. Not really cool having a fence line that ends with a big cliff into traffic. Also not cool that the bathrooms were closed.

Y'all need to update hours on your website. Wanted to take my kids to the pool on Sunday and y'all are closed. Not to happy over this.

Please expand your hrs from dusk to dawn like most other parks. 3rd shift eorkers would greatly benefit from 'decompressing' on your nature trail. I understand you probably have an attendant working an 8 hr shift, but just have a police officer open n close the park at dusk n dawn.

Where an adult can be a kid!!!!!Great half-way meet between NC and OH! Opted over Walmart and enjoyed our time eating in a covered gazebo, walking, and spending time on the playground equipment (kids included!) Next time will visit the coal minor exhibits and ride the train!!!Wonderful family fun!!!

Cool park! 6 different small playground to choose from. A great variety of new and older equipment. Our 5 year old really enjoyed it. Also a nice walking trail including the parking lot in the walking loop our dogs really enjoyed. Recommend!

Awesome (Axesome?) place to check out in downtown Beckley! $18-20 for an hour, which sounds a tad steep, but is not a bad price for a unique and fun experience! The staff and atmosphere are great. The food's simple but not bad, and the prices for both food and drinks are very reasonable!

My husband and I went on a date and had so much fun! The staff are friendly and helped us each get in a stance and pick an axe that worked best for us. They have a nice beer selection as well.

Went to my grandson's birthday party here. The girl and guy working were great. Explained how everything works. They have food, wine and beer. The kids had a blast. Well so did the adults. They let everyone practice for an hour or so then did a competition for the kids and for the adults. Lots of fun!!! Thanks for making my grandson's 13th birthday loads of fun!!!!

Great place. Fun to throw some mini axes and get in a friendly competition. Staff gives decent instructions on how to throw. An hour of throwing is really an hour. The food seems to be well priced but the beer is hot, so maybe avoid that.

The Boo is not like any other store you have ever been to....the vibe alone is worth coming back for. Definitely top notch in my book 📖 👌 and the most unique items

Came up to the area to buy a truck, decided to leave a few hours early and explore Beckley some, glad I came across this place. Bought quite a few things, this place is awesome and plan on coming back next year.

We were staying nearby and went to get a coffee the first day. Very impressed with the selection and golf, climbing activities there. Went back second day for some sweet drinks and playing mini golf. Super cool place, friendly staff and one of the best coffees we ever had.

We loved getting breakfast here! They have a great selection of coffees - I got tiramisu which was AMAZING and tasted just like the dessert without being too sweet - and a small breakfast menu of bagel sandwiches (avocado, egg, and bacon was good). The staff are also very nice, and the atmosphere is super cool (regional history, great artwork, board games, and more). Wish we could have stayed longer to play mini golf.

Very pleasantly surprised. All the flavors seemed very well thought out and intentional. There is usually only one flavor that I want to try at a coffee shop, but I wish I could’ve tried multiple here. Sadly we were only passing through. Excellent service and staff — they were very kind!! The atmosphere did not entirely feel intentional and the pulled espresso shots were slightly bitter, which made us not give 5 stars, but the coffee was delicious otherwise! We’d definitely go back if we could!

Unless locals are willing to wait 30 mins for a cappuccino, I don’t think they will stay in business. The place is a coffee shop in the front and an ice cream shop in the back. There is ONE person that works both sides, taking and making the orders as well as doing check out. We stood at the counter for 10 solid mins before walking around back and asking for someone to take our coffee order. Finally a girl came around to the coffee side, finished making a bagel and to start our order which took another 15 mins to make 2 cappuccinos. We love to support locals but I can’t wait half an hour to get a cup of coffee. It’s also a big red flag when a business does not reply to any of their online reviews.

Such a great, cute little spot for some delicious coffees and drinks. Atmospheres wonderful as was the service. We will be back.

This place is amazing! I love the atmosphere here. We came in during an interview for a news team, and the owner is super kind. He mentioned that this place has been around since the 80s and it's all about bringing the community together! They also have mini golf and a climbing wall. The mini golf looks so fun, and we will have to come back to play. Their coffees though... OMG they are amazing! They have a lot of options which can be overwhelming but you can look ahead on the menu. They also have delicious bagels with a variety of flavored spreads, , breakfast sandwiches, and lunch options too!

Chocolate Moose Coffees is a wonderful café that quickly became one of my favorite spots. The drinks here are excellent—rich, flavorful, and clearly made with quality ingredients. Every sip feels satisfying and fresh. The space is bright and airy, creating a relaxed atmosphere that’s perfect for enjoying a coffee break or meeting with friends. Comfortable seating and plenty of natural light make it easy to settle in and stay awhile. I truly enjoy spending time at this café and always leave feeling refreshed. If you’re looking for delicious drinks and a welcoming, spacious environment, Chocolate Moose Coffees is definitely worth a visit.

If you find yourself in the South looking for breakfast, with no Waffle House within 50 miles, then there is only one reason: Biscuit World. Biscuit World has the best biscuits I have ever had. Their biscuits are huge. Their biscuits have a crisp outside with a pillowy inside. They have every biscuit sandwich, they have biscuits with standard breakfast options, and they have biscuits and gravy, country of course. Order at the counter, be served your food almost by the time you sit down. The charming waitress with an iconic West Virginia accent could be considered hovering except for the coffee in her hand. Simple, clean, spacious, and accessible. Biscuit World is the go-to breakfast joint for biscuit lovers. But, why the heck don't they have grits?

From being out of state, I was told to try this place while here on vacation. I really lived my Mountaineer Biscuit meal. It came out quickly and fresh. Definitely wish I had one of these back home, but will definitely come back any chance that I get.

We're from Georgia. Everyone who heard we were going to West Virginia said we had to eat here. So we did. It is good, but what I'm writing this review about is the two ladies who helped us with our order. I'm sorry I don't remember your names but their eagerness to go above and beyond explaining what all that had as well as asking if we'd like our orders individually bagged to make it easier for us to eat in the car was very appreciated. This location deserves an award from the owners for the employees working there. We're from Georgia, so we know southern hospitality, but these ladies showed us out.

This is very good food. Plus you get bowl of apples sausage gravy big biscuit egg and meat of your choice. I love it here

Excellent food, giant biscuits, wish they had larger parking lots for big trucks. This is the best place to stop for breakfast.

We had never been to a Tudor’s Biscuit World. For a fast food breakfast sandwich, it takes first place. The biscuit was delicious. There was a generous portion of bacon. The egg was appropriately cooked. We picked a table and the staff took our Mary B and biscuit gravy platter to our table. There was very little wait. We did not observe a lot of takeout business. The other Tudor’s in Beckley might have had a longer wait because of its large takeout business.

This place is very unique. Wonderful venue for plays and concerts. Local plays are wonderful. Bar on-site is an added benefit.

I have been to see a film and two plays at this beautiful, historic theatre. All three evenings were memorable and pleasant. I’m already looking forward to seeing another WV Collective play there, especially. This place is a can’t-miss for the Beckley area.

This place is nice...I remember when this place was a theater...I seen the First Star Wars in this place..but now to see what it has become its nice...and Also the Popcorn is ALL SO GOOD AND TASTY

Every experience here has been a blast!

Being relatively new to the Beckley area, I paid my first visit to The Raleigh Playhouse and Theatre recently to see their production of "9 to 5". I was there for opening night; it was fantastic!! I will certainly be returning!

Its not a bad con if you want to go to a con, but its extremely disorganized, the game room was disappointing, panels weren't as described and were consistently being cancelled, the vendor room was a mix of artists and vendors instead of having an artist alley, they didn't enforce WV law when it comes to service animals (they let in a reptile pet (or emotional support animal) but those aren't locally or federally recognized and do not have public access rights), and panels that were supposed to be for adults weren't appropriately marked on the schedule. But it is a convention for a great cause and is ran by volunteers who are doing their best. They kept the convention area safe and secure (had an issue with one guy but it was quickly and professionally handled). The panels I went to were fun and enjoyable. The con is very family friendly as well. It's a great casual con, but nothing remarkable.

The venue isn't very large, so it is easily walkable. Unfortunately the air in the actual arena wasn't working well, so it was stifling hot. The kitchen area was very small for a pop up restaurant and it was difficult to navigate the halls and find seating. Also the bathrooms were very dirty after being open for less than 2 hours. They definitely needed more attention throughout the day. Most people gathered outside due to the heat and lack of seating indoors. Parking is also very tight and is difficult with a larger vehicle.

Attended rodeo; very impressed with patriotism and pride in community,state,and country. Good family fun on saturday night.

Nathan Lane is exceptionally talented with food service. If you ever get the chance, try the hotdogs at Stephan's Lake; they're absolutely amazing!

It's a good-sized place. Lots of space. Showing its age, a little. The chairs in the conference rooms are not comfortable.

Great convention center, the event that was held there was nice. Concessions were very reasonably priced

We had our banquet dinner and awards presentation here for the AACA car show. Neat building!

The good: really friendly people working there and playing there. The greens were very well kept and consistent. Fairways were well defined and drained (zero soggy areas). Where the course could use work is directions (I got lost a few times and other golfers were asking me for directions, too, so I know it wasn't just me); tee box placements were sometimes really cramped; the greens feel a little...weird...like softer than normal or something; and the big one: the cart paths are ready to be ripped up and replaced. But this is a city course that's $20 for 9, so for that price point, every downside is WELL within reason and none of it ruined my enjoyment of my game. I will certainly return! I have always enjoyed playing black night,the pro shop people are friendly and accommodating. There have been some noticeable improvements this year despite a small maintenance crew I am impressed with their efforts. Keep up the excellent work!

A must do for lunch. I had today's daily special cabbage rolls with green beans and mashed potatoes for $6.99 with an awesome view. BEAUTIFUL VIEW AND GOOD FOOD. The restaurant is on the 2nd floor NOT the one on the first floor.

This course has came a long way in the last few years. 18 holes is only 30 bucks. Best public greens in the area. It's a little tight but a lot of fun to play.

In all fairness, I was not there for golf but for a private catered event. The chicken was difficult to cut with a table knife altho it was tasty. The staff said that the sides were made from canned vegetables, and THEY prepared the food because the chef was not there. I rounded up from 2.5 Stars because the waitstaff/ cooks were attentive. This review is for the Country Club.

Nine holes of hills and trees. Most holes are not real long, but challenging. I enjoyed it. Worth your time, try it out. Also a beautiful, old club house for social gatherings.

We love the pool and the people who work there they are so friendly.

Interesting little store nice assortment of glass and mid-century modern type stuff they had several dishes of crystals and Stones which would be great in a pinch if you didn't have an alternate store to go to

Never knew it was there. Absolutely breathtaking pieces of glass, the lady who runs the shop is very knowledgeable and willing to share her knowledge about the glass and the different makers and styles of glass she sells. I enjoyed our conversation very much and bought several pieces from her. I would recommend the shop to anyone who loves beautiful glass and friendly shop owners.

I've been coming to The Deep End Antiques almost since it opened, and love finding unique, vintage treasures for myself and to give as gifts. Travis is a great guy to stop in and chat with, and can most likely give you a detailed history about each and every piece in the shop...and if you're looking for something in particular that he doesn't have, chances are, he knows where you can find it! There are some awesome deals to be found and as an added bonus, the shop is located in a very...special...location with quite the history of its own.

A lot of neat stuff, however if you look inside the plastic totes they have setting out with the other for sale items a grumpy old woman will appear and tell you to LEAVE IT ALONE. When i asked if anything in the totes were for sale, seeing as they were with the other for sale items, the only response i received was LEAVE IT ALONE. Very rude, will not be doing any business with them in the future

Awesome staff and amazing selection! Crystals are very reasonably priced and huge selection!

Travis not only checks on you, he gives you a tour. He personally knows every piece in that store and can tell you a story about it. He’s a great storyteller! There’s never any pressure to buy anything, but I have yet to leave empty handed. Beautiful items with amazing service. Definitely one of my favorite places in town to shop.

Very cute park, hard to get to but nice to stop by. There is a small pond you can walk around, as well as two small "dams" that will give awe to kids. On one side there is a small foot bridge where im sure people cross and fish on the other side. Also there is a nice path/route around the park, and yout typical decent playground and field areas. Very cool to have the train tracks run thought it as well

Was a nice park. Was some trash thrown about that a Jack wad left behind. Love going here with my kid.

I like the pond, and the park it is beautiful. But their is blue hole that I believe should be closed off to kids or to everyone because that is where everyone including teenager party at

Small, but there's a pond to fish in, a playground for the kids, can walk around the track circling the baseball field. Great place for pictures.

Decent place to walk or run, take the dogs, or take kids to play on the playground, as for fishing, over the past 10 years turtles have taken over, you can still catch plenty of bluegill though.

I went to town for the chili fest. Word park is central to town. There was a live band there. It is a quiet place to sit for a while. Chili fest was a fun event for all ages. Great to see the community turn out and have a good time.

I have to move this free spot up to 5 ⭐ ⭐ ⭐⭐⭐stars , right in the Heart of Beckley wheel chair accessible parking lot ... This is where they hold their " Fridays in the Park" sometimes they have vendors there giving free food n items out... Sometimes it's a band or bands playing , but always a laid back atmosphere there!! If your free on the weekends with nothing to do come on out n join us .. if for nothing or just a relaxing weekend feeling!!!

Jill Moorfeild makes Fridays in the Park 🏞️ beautiful every year! There is always music and fun.

This free area is nice. You can lunch here or just relax and read a book or play on your phone. The very large Pavilion currently has a piano in the middle of it that is free to play on. This small park is close to all the uptown beckley attractions.

Great Farmers Market. Open Monday, Wednesday, and Fridays till September from 3-5 pn. Even homemade soap from Crafted By Diclaro & homemade candy

Clean and well maintained

Not impressed. Grass as a padded play surface seems inadequate and many of the park's features seem like they are about 6 inches too high off the ground. Was concerned for my kid's safety and we didn't stay long. Its in an otherwise nice location with convenient parking.

It's not the greatest neighborhood, but the park is clean for what it is extremely small!

It's just a quaint little park for the locals. It has a playground, two basketball half-courts, and a water fountain where you can sit near and just relax. The neighborhood kids really love it!

We walk to this park because it is close to us. The playground area is nice and has benches for the adults to sit and watch their children play.

It's a pretty cool little park with loads of equipment. I go here mainly to play Pokemon Go, there are two pokestops and a gym around the corner.

Very small park area with a few play pieces. No dog park.

Clean well kept quiet

We stayed at the RV park to tour the Beckley Exhibition Coal Mine, and I was a bit disappointed. We stayed 2 nights, and in that time saw no attendant at all. Our site was littered with trash and appeared that someone threw up near the picnic table, which was old and junky. The fire pit was just a ring of stones and was chuck full of ashes and cigarette butts. The restrooms were closed for COVID the sign said, but come on! Covids been over for two years. The little park office hadn't been used for months it seemed like by all the dead bugs on the desk inside and the daily checklist hadn't been updated since last October (this is May). The sites were paved though and the power and water were on and each site had a trash receptacle on it. Honestly, this is too nice of an RV park to let go like this, it needs daily maintenance and energy by someone who cares. Better signage is needed to get to the RV park, we had to have a stranger show us where it was. The entrance is challenging, but we saw a huge motor home do it. BTW- our site was LOADED with ticks, so be aware!

Very cool little spot behind the coal train museum! We got in late and pull our 30ft toy hauler up the vertical entrance road was miserable once the light went down. It would have been cute in our old 18footer, but the rain caused our new f350 to start spinning the rear tires. Yes, our rig is a heavier version, but I had to engage 4x4 and we were fine, but not cool in the rain or dark. Larger rigs should consider the close by NPS campground.

Small but well maintained. Easy access. Only 17 sites. 30/50 service although at booking we were told only 50 amp service. Purchased a dog bone in order for my camper to have power. Arrived and found out both 30/50 available? The bathhouse is in need of repair. Lighting is dim. Showers are old. Only one toilet in men’s bath house with a 4 inch gap between the wall and the door frame. Got to walk by the toilet to reach the shower. Excuse me sir, just passing by. 😂 The folks that checked me in were extremely nice. Would stay here again.

Staff were very courteous, and professional. The main camping Loop was tight, but appeared well-maintained. The tenting area had no marked sites, so early comers were parked over tentable areas, and it was a bit of a free-for-all. Bathrooms were dated, limited, and of average quality.

The campground overlooks the mining museum. If you camp there you get a very nice discount to tour the museum. Very quiet at night and sites are easy to access. It is a very small campground. We had no issues but the large amount of people walking up and down the streets and loud music booming from cars could make you a little uneasy as far as your safety goes. The facilities are surprisingly clean but could use some major updates. Overall good expwrience.

Nice spot. $45 for 3 people 3 tents I thought was pricey

If you have anything longer than a 30ft trailer I wouldn’t recommend this RV park. Just getting there is tight and when you get there it is even tighter.
