History Museums
The Livingstone Museum, located near the iconic Victoria Falls in Livingstone, Zambia, is the country's oldest and most extensive museum. Established in 1934, it offers a diverse array of exhibits spanning archaeology, ethnography, history, and natural history. Visitors can explore collections featuring significant archaeological finds like the World Broken Hill Man and original memorabilia from Dr. David Livingstone. The museum also showcases tribal artifacts, taxidermy displays, and a life-sized model of an African village.
Very detailed museum. There's so much to take in so give yourself some time. If you don't know alot then you will learn alot. The fee for Zambians was just K6. The person at the entrance was very friendly and told us the direction we should take. The museum artifacts ranged from primal time to modern time. Gave a vast history of what Zambians used and showed the development overtime. It also replicated Zambia's flora and fauna, likewise the animals that can be found. The live replicas of animals made it very interesting and relatable. Then it moved on to history and culture, from Zambia's independence an entire area for David Livingstone. It's the perfect place for a school trip or if you want to educate your kids in Zambian history for a low cost. Bathrooms were also available and clean. They are shops selling local art if you want to buy. Would recommend to check it out!
Shanell C — Google review
Livingstone Museum is really the history museum of Zambia. The display started from when the earth continents were Pangaea to the most recent history. It is quite detailed. A must visit in Livingston.
Clement C — Google review
Interesting museum! Entrance cost us $5 per person. Phots and videos are not allowed to be taken inside. Has interesting natural history section about the origins of various animals and a zoological section. More interesting though is the areas about local history and traditions, as well as about Zambia's recent colonial occupation back when it was known as Northern Rhodesia. I found it very insightful learning about the Zambian perspective of this as someone who comes from Europe. Finally, there is a section about David Livingstone that is interesting if you don't know much about him already.
Sam M — Google review
This is a very extensively fitted museum. Covers a wide range of topics with an impressive number of artifacts. I was impressed by the size and exhibits. No photos allowed inside, which is understandable considering the delicate nature of some of the artifacts. Well run and very well maintained.
Ockert B — Google review
To be honest - the guided tour was passionate and interesting, however if I am being very honest. It was a little bit boring and for today’s standards really nothing special. Rather enjoy the nature than the museum
Tobias B — Google review
The place has the best history of Zambia than the things we where taught in schools. I would recommend the employment of tour guides because they will give our visitors from other countries a better understanding of our culture and rich history. I had the best time learning about our country and it's thriving present never the less I would have enjoyed it the more if I was being guided through to get a clear picture of everything because I had so many questions left unanswered. This is according to my experience thank you.
Roy M — Google review
The museum was very nice and detailed, each room was unique and made you feel like you were stepping into history.
N H — Google review
Have eggs become lighter over time? The existential question our our times, finally answered. Aside from this, the museum gives a good overview of Zambia under colonial rule and subsequent independence, albeit only up until 2001.

Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park, located on the Zambezi River, is a stunning natural reserve that boasts the famous Victoria Falls and a diverse array of wildlife. Spanning 23 square kilometers, this park is home to an impressive population of white rhinos, as well as elephants, giraffes, zebras, buffalos, and various antelope species. Visitors can enjoy activities such as game drives and the popular Rhino Walk to observe these magnificent creatures in their natural habitat.
Victoria Falls, located in Zambia, is a stunning natural wonder and one of the largest waterfalls in the world. Its dramatic cascade of water creates a spectacular sight and a mist that can be seen from miles away. The surrounding area offers beautiful scenery and various activities, including guided tours and boat rides. It's a must-visit destination for anyone seeking awe-inspiring natural beauty.
Sutha H — Google review
What a great an experience I had in this park.. The walk with the Rhinos was fantastic and I have seen a bachelor of elephants and it was the most coolest sights of my life.
Veronika H — Google review
Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park offers a compact but rewarding wildlife experience. While it doesn’t have big cats like lions, leopards, or cheetahs due to its size, the park is home to an impressive range of animals. Visitors can expect to see southern white rhinos, which are a major highlight, as well as elephants, giraffes, zebras, buffalos, baboons, impalas, crocodiles, vultures, and a wide variety of bird species. One unique feature of the park is the opportunity to get out of the vehicle and walk safely to view rhinos at close range—something not commonly offered in larger parks. Overall, Mosi-oa-Tunya is a great option for wildlife viewing, especially for those interested in diverse animal sightings in a shorter timeframe. I would highly recommend the TripAdvisor half-day Safari for this park as it’s good value.
Vouchline — Google review
Great National Park for a game drive right next to the Zambezi River and right next to Livingstone, Zambia. Many animals to be seen here!
Canyoudoanybetter — Google review
Great place to visit but relatively small. Very cheap if you drive your own vehicle. A lot of the roads are tarmac. You need to hire a guide ($10) if you wish to see the rare white rhinos. A good selection of animals.
Mike S — Google review
Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park in Zambia offers a unique blend of wildlife and natural wonder, most famously the majestic Victoria Falls. Visitors can enjoy game drives to see elephants, giraffes, and zebras, though predators are absent. The park is compact but rich in scenic beauty, with lush landscapes and river views. Guided tours to the falls provide unforgettable photo opportunities. It’s an accessible and rewarding destination, ideal for those seeking both nature and history in one visit.

Amazing view of the other side of the Victoria Falls. I would like to encourage everyone to have a great view from Zimbabwe and Zambia

The Railway Museum, situated in Livingston, Zambia, is a captivating destination for history enthusiasts and curious travelers. This museum offers an insightful exploration of Zambia's railway heritage through its collection of vintage locomotives, carriages, and various railway artifacts. Visitors can also delve into the Jewish history exhibits on-site. The museum is located at the former Mulobezi railway station and provides a unique opportunity to learn about the rich legacy of railways in Zambia.
I booked this trip but I think my husband enjoyed it more! If you're engineer or into mechanical vehicles and how they work, you'll certainly enjoy this museum. If you also love railways history, you will enjoy. The tour guide? 10/10. Exceptional. Very knowledgeable and kept your interest. There is no extra fee for the tour guide but you can feel free to tip him. Entry fee is only K8 for locals. You first get the history of how the railway started, what material they used, where it came from and who were the people involved. Then you get to go visit the train models who've the your guide explains. It's very cool to see trains that were used previously in Zambia. You would entire a train cabin, the EXACT one used in the 1900s along with the train platform. That was pretty amazing to do and I was amazed how in fact everything was. The Jewish Museum is also linked to Zambia's railways as the providerd of the materials were Jewish. It was interesting to read about the Jewish history and the part that each person played in the development of the railway. Would definitely recommend as something new to try out.
Shanell C — Google review
We were at the Railway Museum less than 45 min before it closing time of 4:30. After paying for our tickets the gentleman from the museum told us he could keep the museum open until around 5:00 pm. He would be our tour guide and he was sure we would see everything by then. He explained in very detailed the history of the museum, took us to see some of the locomotives that were on display. They were not in very good shape. All the locomotives used to be used by a sawmill to transport lumbers. The varieties were quite limited.
Clement C — Google review
Rusted and broken playground equipment for kids. Dangerously rusted out train cars. Train cars with swarms of bed living inside. Toilets with no running water or seats or soap. Little to no information about the trains. Several of the trains had human excrement in them. Was very pricey for what it was (non-resident). The Jewish museum was nice.
Ben A — Google review
The train museum is in a state of complete dilapidation. The majestic old trains are rusting away, most with no signage and certainly no TLC. The entrance is an amazing $15; I am sure the museum hasn't had investment equivalent to one ticket in the last ten years. Several of the engines are mundane late steam built in the 1950s,in three or four are old and / or interesting. I suppose it is kind of a graveyard not just of trains but of colonialism. However that isn't intentional, it's just complete disinterest in the history of the railway in Zambia. The Jewish museum (which is in the same site and included in the ticket; deal... is interesting and quite well maintained. I'll review that separately...
Jonathan M — Google review
The museum boasts a fascinating history, but many trains are in poor condition and require restoration. A modern update to the museum is definitely needed.
Tina V — Google review
Had never been on a train and seeing the inside of the first class coach and also the other locomotives/engines was really a great experience. I liked the swings in the play pack too. The place can be made more beautiful by greening the environment. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and our tour was awesome.
Brenda K — Google review
I loved it here! I was taken aback by how cheap it was to enter but it was great. I entered some of the carriages and for a while felt like I had returned to the past. A little more maintainance could do some good but it's still okay the way it is. One idea though would be if the museum was open to holding curated events on their premises. Those steam engines would make an excellent backdrop for a cat walk or something.
Jacob S — Google review
The Railway Museum is only one museum in Zambia. which has oldest railway engine & compartment, engine from 1892 to 1957 and the most existing things the steam crane. From the museum you can see the old railway lines maps of northern & southern Rhodesia. The Guide in that museum is very friendly & explained everything, a lot about Jewish history in Zambia. Please find the entrance fees from the picture.

Mukuni Big Five Safaris offers a unique and thrilling experience to walk with wild lions, the ultimate kings of the jungle. Visitors can interact with these endangered cats in their natural habitat without any leashes or sedatives. The lush greenery and breathtaking views of the Zambezi river add to the serene atmosphere of this adventure. Guides ensure safety while providing an up-close encounter with these majestic beasts, making it an unforgettable and humbling experience for anyone seeking an adrenaline rush in Africa.
We visited in August 2022 and this place is a must do experience. We arrived and was greeted with a drink and we signed a few forms then our guide explained all the safety rules and off we went to meet the lionesses. There was at least 5 guides with our group of 3 and another group of 2 and the guides talk you through how to approach the lions and how to pat them really hard, they take amazing pictures and videos for you on your phone and they interact with the lions which makes you feel at ease and also makes you laugh. These animals are well looked after and cared for and the team of guides and all staff do an amazing job looking after them. I would 100% recommend this to everyone who visits this part of Africa. Thank you for the once in a lifetime experience and a lifetime of memories.

Beautiful place and I really liked seeing the tigers and white lion although I expected more of the big 5 as that is the name but only animals we saw were lions, tigers and caracals. Would recommend
Bwalya C — Google review
Lovely experience. Friendly staff and nice food. We did the lion walk and viewing. These caged cats are big and a marvel to see. Planning a return, hopefully this time to find the cubs are around - wanna try cub feeding!

A visit to Mukuni Big Five offers an unforgettable lion encounter. Guests can walk alongside these majestic animals in a safe, guided experience that promotes awareness and conservation. The lions, semi-habituated for human interaction, allow for respectful observation and close-up moments. Adding to the experience are the exceptional staff: Elinah at the reception warmly welcomes guests with genuine hospitality; Vanessa at the restaurant ensures every meal is served with care and a smile; and Grania, the knowledgeable guide, leads the lion walks with passion and expertise. Together, they make the visit both thrilling and deeply memorable for every guest.

It's absolutely humbling and a complete adrenaline rush to be able to interact with the ultimate King of the jungle, no leash, free, in the wild. The lush greenery right behind the entrance is really breathtaking and serene, with a view of the Zambezi river that is unparalleled... I would go back again, and again. Really worth going at least once in a lifetime...

Maramba market is a must visit place for a cultural experience. Interaction with locals and seeing them sell products of all kind is the highlight you can also buy anything you like at a local charge!
Bright — Google review
To be honest - it’s nothing for tourists on my opinion - it’s more a local requirement and I do not understand why sending tourists in this area and charging 55 USD per person to go there. Rather charge a tourist fee and support that elocal areas to develop. We were very unhappy with this option.

Livingstone Crocodile Park is a must-visit attraction in Livingstone, Zambia. Situated on the banks of the Zambezi River, it offers a fascinating experience with professional tour guides providing insights into crocodiles, snakes, turtles, and chameleons. Visitors can even touch harmless snakes and hold fragile but cute baby crocodiles.
Place is quite and so good... Guide is so friendly they have a massive crocodile... Called Godzilla. They can feed the crocodile with you pay, which is good, in future which leads to sponsors for crocodile feeding and care. Need more varities of crocodiles, need more animal care takers. Please find the price list from the pics.
Lakshmi K — Google review
Small park, will take you max an hour if going slowly. I enjoyed it but it was a bit concerning that a fair amount of the reptiles had no heat source in their enclosures - snakes and baby crocs. Larger crocs seem well fed and happy, nice enclosures and they have friendly staff. No place to eat here, just a few snacks.
Astin B — Google review
I generally dislike zoos or places with captive animals. However, Livingstone Crocodile Park also serves to protect the public (and the animal) by removing "man-killers" from the community. This one good step toward human/animal conflict. The guides are very knowledgeable of the area and of each individual croc. Great learning experience. Today's price: K100 for locals, $10 for foreigners.
Craig N — Google review
We had a wonderful time with our tour guide Mbakala. He was knowledgeable and quite fearless, getting into the crocodile pen with one of the maneaters and showing us how they attack. The kids were terrified and entranced. Some sites list them as not being open on Wednesdays but now they are open every day.
Ben A — Google review
Very cool place to visit that only takes about an hour. I recommend buying 2-3 chunks of meat for the keeper to feed the Crocs.

Ideal for family outings and educational tours.

The Reptiles in the park were kept really in a bad condition hence I am rating this 3 stars. They treated the chameleon very brutally and also the turtles were in bad condition. The crocodile was injured and the guide was playing around troubling the Black Mamba. I really regret visiting this place looking at the bad condition the reptiles were kept
Rahul P — Google review
I loved how natural the aesthetics and feel of the park were. We got quite a real experience there as we got quite close to the crocodiles in their habitat. The guide was great too, very informed, friendly, and gave us an awesome tour. It was also quite affordable to visit, with not much of a difference between local, resident and tourist fees.

Experience the beauty of the Zambezi River with a relaxing Zambezi River Cruise. This activity offers a serene way to enjoy the river and witness stunning sunsets. The cruise includes drinks, snacks, and delicious meals while providing comfortable seating on uncrowded boats. As you sail along the fourth longest river in Africa, you may spot various wildlife such as birds, hippos, crocodiles, and even elephants.
A beautiful serene way to end your day. Drinks and snacks were provided. Plenty of hippos to be seen and other animals if you are lucky. We booked with Wild Horizons. The staff were incredibly professional and courteous.

This is one of the parts where, the deeper your pockets, the better the experience. Boats are basically based on your affordability. Depending on your agency, you will get chauffeured to and from your hotel. The boats are pretty comfortable but they differ in entirely everything. You want a private family boat - they got you. You wanna mingle with everyone there are there. You want boats with multiple decks- again, they got you. The problem is, animals are a hit or miss. My trip was awful, saw minimal wildlife (#disappointing). It felt like money down the drain. The sunset was unforgettable tho. M you boats offered meals and refreshments on board 👌🏾
Shaqueal “ — Google review
Without doubt one of the best trips we did during our stay in Victoria Falls. The cruise is a pleasant and relaxing way to enjoy the river and watch the sunset. Drinks are included from the ample bar, snacks provided and the main meal was simply wonderful. The boats are not crowded and the seating is very comfortable. This all adds up to a very relaxing river cruise. We were fortunate enough to witness a spectacular lightening display towards the end of our cruise. Don’t hesitate about booking a sunset dinner cruise. Pick-up and drop-off at your hotel included.
Neil B — Google review
We booked the cruise via our hotel we stayed in. We were picked up by the service provider and drop off after the cruise. The Zambezi Sunset cruise is an absolute superb way to relax and enjoy the spectacular beauty of the Zambezi River on this 2 hour boat ride. People had the opportunity to sit upstairs or on the lower deck, but the view was still beautiful. One was allowed to move around on the boat without any restrictions. We had great photo opportunities against the often-spectacular African sunsets as we cruise along the Zambezi river. We also saw flocks of birds that skim the waterline as the sun sets behind the Zimbabwe/Zambezi skyline. We also had the opportunity to see a variety of game; including hippo, crocodile, and elephant as well as the many different bird species. Our guide explained in detail every species, and they living habits. The Sunset Cruise is very popular amongst tourist and includes finger snacks, beer, wine, local spirits and soft drinks. Tourist on the boat can have unlimited drinks and finger snacks are being served shortly after departure. Life jackets are also provided in the case of an emergency. The boat also has a toilet on board both for males and females. This is a must tourist attraction when visiting the Victoria falls.
Leon F — Google review
The fourth longest river in Africa, after the Nile, Congo, and Niger Rivers. I took a Sunset cruise from a local tour agency to witness the spectacular sunset on the river. The cruise package included unlimited drinks and food on the boat. Many birds, Hippos and Crocodiles were spotted during the trip along with some elephant. The guide will keep an eye on the river banks to make you aware about any wildlife near the river. The mighty river flows through Zambia, Angola, Namibia and Botswana then back along the border of Zambia and Zimbabwe finally discharging into the Indian Ocean at its delta in Mozambique.
Rahul P — Google review
The sunset cruise was beautiful! The boat itself was comfortable with lots of space. They also served us refreshments and drinks. We even spotted some animals while on the cruise.
Stella W — Google review
We recently booked a Zambezi Sunset cruise through our hotel, arranged by the excellent service of Batoka Safaris. The two-hour boat ride along the Zambezi River was a truly superb experience. Captain Mpumelelo skillfully navigated the boat, allowing passengers to choose between the upper deck and lower deck, both offering beautiful views of the stunning African sunsets. The opportunity to move freely around the boat enhanced the experience, providing great photo opportunities against the picturesque Zimbabwe/Zambezi skyline. As we cruised, we marveled at flocks of birds skimming the waterline, while our knowledgeable guide, with passion and detail, shared insights into various species and their living habits. Encounters with wildlife, including hippos, crocodiles, and elephants, added an exciting dimension to the cruise. The guide's informative commentary heightened our appreciation for the Zambezi's rich ecosystem. The Sunset Cruise, a favorite among tourists, included unlimited drinks—beer, wine, local spirits, and soft drinks—and finger snacks served shortly after departure. Captain Mpumelelo's expertise ensured a safe and enjoyable journey, while the attentive service of Barman Robson added to the overall positive experience. The provision of life jackets and on-board toilets demonstrated Batoka Safaris' commitment to passenger safety and comfort.

The Sunset Cruise Victoria Falls offers a beautiful ride along the Zambezi River, providing a picturesque view of the sunset. While wildlife sightings may vary, it's possible to spot hippos and birds during the cruise. The boat is spacious and equipped with snacks and drinks for guests to enjoy as they take in the scenery. Some visitors also recommend bringing sunglasses and hats for added comfort during the trip.
Amazing experience! My husband and I did the Zambezi Royal Luxury Sunset Cruise and it did not disappoint, we were able to see elephants, hippos, croc, a variety of birds, and a spectacular sunset. The drinks and bites were very good.
Ana S — Google review
The cruise was nice. We went on the small Ra-Ikane boat and enjoyed not having to fight for the view like on the larger boats. The driver and bartender were both wonderful and knowledgeable. The snacks provided were delicious and the selection of drinks was adequate. We saw lots and lots of animals, especially elephants and hippos! It would have been a 5 star experience except that I absolutely hated the chairs. You're sunk down so low in the boat you can't see anything if you're seated. It was hard to get the whole view, look for animals, and stay connected with the rest of my group. I get that the chairs are trying to stay in the style of the boat, but they really took away from my experience.
Cara C — Google review
What a experience, we saw hippos and some elephants but most beautiful of it all was the sunset!! This was relaxing, snaks and drinks where served. We went with the shearwater group and the staff was awsome. Definitely a must do when in Zimbabwe.
Louis E — Google review
We went on the sunset cruise down the Zambezi. The scenic views were amazing. The cruise came with unlimited drinks including soda water beer wine and spirits. Service was good. There are two seating floors and you will find out your assigned deck upon entering the boat. The ticket also came with an appetizer which consisted of cold and soggy cheese sticks. After the appetizer we were served cold dry chicken on a stick and a mini chicken sandwich with lettuce and sause. For dessert we got a stale brownie. For the cost of the ticket ($54 pp) you can’t expect much out of the food department. However the company did take it upon themselves to serve food as such they should serve edible food. Seats were plastic yard chairs with a table. There were 4 chairs to each table. You best hope your shuttle gets there first and you don’t end up with an outside seat as others were not keen on moving to ensure each party had at least one person facing the water. The views were great and drinks were flowing as such overall average cruise.
Caroline L — Google review
An amazing experience. Room for only 10 or 12 with all you can drink basic spirits wines and beers with snacks. Comfortable personal boat with 2 extremely knowledgeable staff. They showed us some of the best views of the river banks they steered the boat as safe and close to the wildlife as possible. It was spectacular.
Suzanne H — Google review
So good from the great Bus driver there (Leo) to the excellent layout of the boat, to the excellent staff and food, beyond expectations! All inclusive of spirits, great wine and after dinner drinks!! Saw dozens of hippos but no other animals. Thoroughly enjoyed it and highly recommend!
Angie G — Google review
Oh wow this was the best part of our trip to Victoria Falls and the experience was awesome and really worth it. A cruise up the Mighty Zambezi is an absolute must if going to the Falls and so beautiful to boot. We were privileged to also do the dinner cruise which was delicious 😋. We saw hippo and elephant and were fortunate enough to watch a huge male swim across the River channel and get onto one of the islands. He gave us a regal sway of his head and tusks when he came out the water, which really was a sight to behold. Thank you to Daniel the captain and Goodwill our very friendly and helpful waitron.
John T — Google review
Beautiful ride along the Zambizee river, large boat so not able to get too close to shore. Did not see a lot of wild life on our trip, but did see a few hippo and a few birds. However is still a pretty ride at sunset. Do plan on taking sunglasses/ hat as it gets hot. They do serve snacks and drinks on the boat, which were nice. There was a variety of items, though the food items were paced slowly throughout the boat ride. As it begins at dinner time, if you think you may want food quickly I suggest getting a snack before coming.

Livingstone's Adventure offers a variety of thrilling activities for visitors to the area. One option is a privately guided canoeing safari on the Zambezi River, where guests can paddle between national parks and observe wildlife such as elephants, hippos, and diverse bird species. Another exhilarating experience is the microlight flights that provide breathtaking views of the Victoria Falls and surrounding landscapes. Visitors have praised the professionalism and customer service of Livingstone's Adventure, emphasizing safety as a top priority.
We did the combination River Safari and Sunset Cruise. Both were amazing! On the river safari we saw elephants, hippos, crocodiles and several birds. The guides were friendly and informative. They set up an amazing “snack” on an island, and the drinks were also included. Right before sunset we boarded the African Princess which provided a great view of the sunset on the river. Definitely recommend this tour group.
Sloan S — Google review
My group of 4 friends and I did the sunset cruise, rafting and helicopter ride/microlight flight on 3 consecutive days. Livingstone Adventure put together a package for all three activities at a price that saved us >100 USD per person compared to if we'd done them separately (rafting was via Bundu Adventures and the flights were via Batoka Sky). Pros: - Each of the three experiences were beautiful and amazing. The sunset cruise was a great lazy, boozy way to relax after 17hrs of flying and layovers, and the sunset, hippos and crocodile were great sights. Rafting was the best I'd ever done - such and exhilarating challenge but with a constant feeling of safety and attention from the team. The microlight flight was one of the best experiences of my life. - shuttle pickups for each of the experiences was via a comfortable van, whose drivers were accommodating in changing destinations when we wanted to get to a restaurant after each experience - the team was generally responsive when we called each time to confirm itineraries. - the price savings mentioned above - that 100 USD of savings went a long way for us! - facilities and service at each of the experiences was generally good, especially with rafting. Toilets were clean (same too for the river cruise), plenty of water was provided to keep us hydrated, and you could tell the crew knew their jobs well. Cons: - communication was generally more reactive than proactive. We had to call ahead for confirmation, as we didn't get Whatsapped ahead of time. There was also an issue with them retrieving our booking, which caused the river cruise to be held up for some time as we became the last passengers to board. - we were not informed at all that the microlight flight on Day 2 had been cancelled. This may relate back to Livingstone' Adventures not communicating well with their partner, Batoka Sky, on our booking. We literally waited for a pickup at 3pm, called to ask why it hadn't arrived, and was told the flight was cancelled. When we tried to get a refund, the initial amount offered was 63 USD - a far cry from the 179 USD that the website quoted. We reasoned that based on our discounted package, we weren't looking for a full refund. We ended up spending 2hrs trying to reason with the staff for a better refund, noting that past reviewers had also mentioned refunds that weren't processed in the end. In the end, the manager Saika got us on a microflight first thing Day 3, while my other two friends did a helicopter tour on the day itself. Conclusion: As a whole, I'd say it was a great deal and amazing experiences all around. Make sure to get a good roaming plan to make communication readily available, and schedule the microlight as your first activity if possible (and preferably in the morning when winds are less likely to be strong) so you have a buffer. Tips: For rafting, wear good walking shoes as you'll need to hike in and out of the gorge before and after rafting (your shoes will be put in a dry bag during rafting). For the sunset cruise, sitting on the upper deck would afford you better pictures of the hippos and crocodiles than on the lower deck. I find the microlight flight a significantly better deal than the helicopter, since it's not only cheaper, but you are guaranteed a good view as it's one passenger per flight - unlike helicopter rides where you might end up in the middle of the cabin.

Really loved our sunset river cruise with Mike and Michael. They were incredibly knowledgeable and treated us very well. I would recommend asking for them as your guide and boat captain. It was a fantastic experience. Highly recommend. Especially the small more personal boat.

We had to swop service providers for our helicopter trip at the last minute. This team stepped in beautifully and were able to accommodate us on short notice. Communications were good. Their arrangements were excellent and our experience was excellent. We did the 15 minute helicopter ride over the falls. Wow! What an experience! I recommend.
Gloedlander X — Google review
Don’t think about taking a helicopter to see Victoria Falls - take the microlight tour. You fly much lower. Low enough to spot croc and hippos and all their friends to and from the falls. It is the best way to see the falls

Fantastic Microlite experience. Made a last minute reservation and they were happy to accommodate us. Staff was great, and the experience was unforgettable! Would highly recommend.

Took the microlight flight here this morning over the falls & wow what an experience to be flying like this. It’s truly like your a bird no windows here just amazing views all around of this wonderful place. This is a super profession company that from the booking made every effort in customer service and when I arrived they made sure that safety was a top priority. If your in the area then this is a must do a totally once in a lifetime experience that you will not forget.

Fantastic service, had a great time doing a canoe trip. Unfortunately during lunch break (which was very tasty until it got covered in sand) the weather turned very bad and we were forced to end our trip early. We did get to see a crocodile, hippos, and various birds before we left, and thet ended up giving me and my friend a 50% refund on our payment as because of the unfortunate circumstances. 10/10 would recommend for your adventures here in Livingstone 🙏

Bundu Adventures has been providing thrilling adventure activities on the Zambezi River since 1996. While their main focus is whitewater rafting, they also offer a variety of other exciting experiences. Visitors have praised the safety measures in place and the expertise of their guides, such as Ayoba and Potato, who ensured an unforgettable and secure journey through the rapids. The full-day rafting experience was particularly recommended for its gradual transition from initial apprehension to pure enjoyment.
Wonderful experience from pickup to drop off. We were able to rafting 1-21 and only had to walk around #9. Steep walk down and up the gorge but totally worth it! Would recommend Bundu to all!

We had so much fun with Bundu Adventures for the rafting half-day trip! The equipment was in good condition and "Big Ben" was the best guide ever, making us feel safe at all times and giving interesting information throughout the day. Owning a travel agency in Canada, I've worked with many rafting companies before, and I can surely say that my experience with Bundu Adventures was amazing and with the highest standards. I highly recommend this company and will happily work with them again next year :)

My husband and I had a wonderful time on our full day rafting experience! Each of the rapids were challenging but SO FUN! Our guide, Ayoba, was so helpful explaining the objective for each rapid and we really enjoyed his positive attitude. Along with support from Innocent, Friday and a few others, we felt like we were in great hands! Highly recommend! Warning to foreigners: BRING SUNSCREEN! We were burnt like tomatoes afterwards lol

We just came back from a trip with these guys , and we are extatic. Not only we had fun but we were super safe !Our captain was Ayoba , he was great and we did not flip! We paired it with ride back in helicopter because we had to fly back and that was also amazing, cruising few feet above the water in the canyon. In short can't recommend it enough , I did class 5 rafting before in Europe and their set up is great with the 2 additional kayaks for safety in case someone fell in the water . This guys on kayaks are professionals .

What can I say. FANTASTIC. One of the best things I could have done while in Zambia. My daughter really enjoyed it. See pictures. We felt safe with Kay in control. The only note is you need to be reasonably fit for the walk out at the end.

Awesome experience!! Totally worth it, we got to see the waterfalls from below and then rafted the Zambezi. Our guide Kaivas was great and we didn’t flip :) One bonus point: we got a nice video of this adventure the next day via email. Fantastic memories were made!!

Enjoyed rafting with Bundu couple of years ago. This time i brought my family to share this experience with them. Thank you Potato (guide) for making it very special. We felt safe all the way despite the flight on the photo. Great from the booking (including booking of tours from other operators) to the video of our adventure. Suggestion: go for the full day. Your initial terrifying experience gradually eases into pure joy

Waterfalls
Victoria Falls, known as the adventure capital of Africa, is a symbol of the continent's extraordinary beauty. It is famous for its enormous size and natural pool where visitors can swim. The falls are located at Victoria Falls National Park in Zimbabwe and Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park in Zambia.
Just the place to have a feel on how mighty nature is. Be prepared because there’s no chance you won’t come out dry, despite wearing a rain poncho or not. The views are incredible, although in winter the water flow is bigger so there’s less sight of some of the falls because of the mist.
Juan R — Google review
Victoria Falls had less water due to summer season which made viewing better. We had less must. The helicopter ride over the falls provides excellent views.
Kevin B — Google review
What a beautiful place! Not very busy and lots of personal space to enjoy the fall. It was low season so the falls were not as active as other times of the year but it was great.

Great experience. Don't bother doing an organized day tour. Get a cab to the park, pay your park fees ($50 each) and either walk yourself or hire a guide for $25

We were at the falls in one of the drier months. It was still breathtakingly beautiful. You move from tropics, to forest to arid rock, rainforest to scorching sun. What an experience. Victoria Falls is a very beautiful town.

God's majestic wonder. I don't understand why its no longer on the 7 wonders of the world list. Beautiful unexplainable wonder. Its breathtaking. The flora and fauna is like no other. Warthogs (Pumba) hang around like they own the place. The double rainbows 🌈, the roar of the water, the rain, the amazing views at every turn. There are about 20 view points, all amazing.
Shaqueal “ — Google review
The falls are over 1.7 kilometers (5,604 ft) wide and 108 meters (355 ft) high, making them the largest water falls in the world. It is extremely picturesque and popular with tourists and locals. Best to go there early in the morning after 6am to avoid the heat of the day. You can also go in late afternoon. Entry fees are payable, waiting to enter can take 30 minutes even with advance booking. Best go with a guide. The route involves visiting 16 stations offering views from different angles and also the statue of Livingstone. The route is mostly level though there are stairs. Water sprays carried by winds can affect photography and make pathways damp. Walk carefully. There's additional activities such as bungee jumping and abseiling here.

Indian restaurant
The Golden Leaf is a highly regarded restaurant in Livingstone, Zambia, known for its excellent Indian and Asian cuisine. With 427 reviews, it's recognized for serving top-notch Indian dishes and is considered a go-to spot for a good curry in town. The restaurant offers a delightful dining experience with its flavorful menu. It's one of the best places to savor authentic Indian cuisine while visiting Livingstone.
The vegetable bryani is delicious and served in generous portions. Beware of the chili strength though, even the medium is ring-sting hot, so go with mild to appreciate the flavours and keep your tongue intact.
Desmond L — Google review
Best Indian cuisine in Zambia for my money! The prices are also very reasonable, not out to get the last dollar of the tourist. Highly recommend. Booking for the veranda is recommended.
Gerhard O — Google review
This must be the best Indian in town by far! Very nice authentic food, we ended up eating there 4 times. Staff are really friendly and helpful. Can’t recommend enough! 👍🏾
Imran T — Google review
Delicious food and a wonderful porch to eat it all on. I knew it would be a good meal when I saw a large group of Indian aunties pull up for a party. The food was well spiced but a bit milder than I expected so order a bit hotter than you usually do, also tell the staff just to bring out the food when it’s ready so you get all your food hot even if it’s at different times. There are a lot of vegetarian and vegan options on the menu, which has Indian food as well as a few Zambian and also some generic dishes like pasta.
Laura M — Google review
Visited here after almost a decade and still consistently great. Food is exceptional, great Christmas ambience and many of the customers are repeat customers! Service is great and after listening to others in our tours this is one of the most consistently great restaurants for food and service! Can’t beat it, am going back for more. Loved the drums of heaven, butter chicken naans and jeera rice. Quite surprised to find an authentic northern Indian cuisine
D P — Google review
We thought we would try out the Golden Leaf after reading all the good reviews for dinner as we love Indian food and have sampled the cuisine all over the world. We ordered a Chicken Masala Hot, the waitress told us that it would be Indian hot and it might be too hot for us to handle, we informed her that we like it hot and enjoy Vindaloo. Service is absolutely fantastic, however when the food came out the Chicken Masala was no where near as hot as what we expected which was quite disappointing. The portions could be better for the price you pay. All and all the flavours were good but the service was outstanding, thank you to the waitress that served us.
Travel B — Google review
We needed a place for lunch after our visit to the Victoria Falls and also close to the town or in Livingstone. We saw the Golden Leaf and decided to make a turn and try this restaurant while in the area. The food is very enjoyable and also indian which was something new to me. But I chose something hot and needed a glass of milk to cool down! But yet the meal was very enjoyable and the staff very friendly!

While on vacation in Livingstone, we stayed at the Protea Hotel and walked over to the Golden Leaf Indian restaurant for dinner since we were craving Indian food. The 9-minute walk was easy and on a sidewalk along the town’s main road. Once there, we sat outside on the spacious veranda and had the chicken tikka masala and chicken jalfrezi alongside two types of naan bread, plus carbonated drinks. Staff were very friendly, the food very good, and we even got to chat with some expats that call Livingstone their home. Paying by credit card was no problem either. Definitely would give this restaurant a try when you visit Livingstone.

We had the most amazing time on the Royal Livingstone Express. We went in with high hopes given my teenage daughter has always wanted to experience an “old school” steam engine train and “classic dining car”. The Livingstone Express did not disappoint! The train is very well maintained, so doesn’t feel old or stuffy. The staff was super professional, the host was an incredible speaker and storyteller, educating and entertaining us with the history of the train and railroad connecting much of southern and eastern Africa. The train also stops on the famous bridge overlooking the waterfall so you can disembark and take pictures of the sunset over the falls. And lastly, the quality of the food was exceptional. Often times these more “touristy” experiences don’t have the best food. We were super impressed by how polished and delicious the food was, starting with the appetizers to the 3-course sit down dinner. Not at all gimmicky or mass-produced, but instead elevated and authentic. Note, we have high standards for fine dining as we’re from San Francisco and NYC. Would highly recommend the Royal Livingstone Express to anyone visiting Victoria Falls!

$$$ Overpriced. Nice shopping village with lot of nice things to consider however the high prices will make you think twice before you buy anything. There are no price tags and shop keepers will throw you a price based on what they think you could pay. I prefer the two markets on either side of this village which are more flexible in prices if you like bargaining. There is a small cafe inside for a quick drink or some refreshments.

Jollyboys Backpackers is a laid-back hostel in Livingstone, Zambia, offering dorms and rooms with a bar, outdoor pool, and free airport shuttle. The accommodation provides good value for money and features a kitchen for guests to cook their meals. It's conveniently located near a supermarket, restaurants, and the post office. The place also offers music at night but ensures that the volume and timing are controlled.
Jollyboys is a perfect place to stay in Livingstone on a budget! The staff are lovely and really helpful. You can arrange all of your activities and trips through the front desk including getting a free airport pickup and shuttle to Victoria falls. Great kitchen, reliable wifi. I can't say enough good things about my stay and will definitely be back when I travel through Livingstone.

Jollyboys is reasonably priced with great amenities, clean facilities, AC in many of the rooms, a lovely pool and reliable wifi (good enough to work remotely). It’s also a social place and has fun events and promotions throughout the week like a braii night, free dinner on Thurs, paint and sip etc… but what really makes this place shine is the staff. Moyo picked me up from the airport and gave me super helpful recommendations on the drive to the hostel (like which atms to avoid because they eat foreign cards 🤣). I was always happy to see his smile around the hostel throughout my stay. Stella, Ruth & Lloyd brightened my mornings in reception and helped me with so many random questions and with booking various activities. Mathilda and the guys on the cleaning crew work hard every day but still have time for a smile and friendly chat. And the whole bar & kitchen crew are awesome too. And can’t forget Tunya the cat! This place is really dialed and I can’t recommend it highly enough. If you have a problem—just talk to the staff and they’ll help you out. I’ll always remember my stay here. Much love.

Most of the staff were really amazing and went above and beyond to help out, make you feel welcome, and smile. Bathrooms are super clean. Female dorm is large and has air con. Shared kitchen was great to have and there's filtered water throughout the facility. Free shuttle daily to falls. Free dinner Thursday nights was my fave (should add this meal to the menu!). Wifi worked in common areas and was good enough to remote work. Livingstone is quiet and easy to roam around. My favourite cafe nearby was Nomad Cafe (delicious Americano!). Best hostel in Livingstone, highly recommend 👏

The showers are also some of the best we experienced in Africa - awesome water pressure and hot water straight away! Highly recommend this well-located and well-equipped hostel.

This was our second time at Jollyboys and would come again. All the reception staff were exceptionally helpful as were the bar/kitchen crew. Our double ensuite room with a/c was especially comfortable. We enjoyed meeting many interesting people

Very nice room and good price. The accommodation is very sociable and we enjoyed the different events throughout the week. We took the free shuttle to Victoria Falls, went horse riding and also did the trip to Chobe which was very well organised. The only thing I would complain about is that anyone is allowed to enter the property. People selling stuff on the street wander in to harass tourists. When we got into the car for the free Victoria falls shuttle which leaves at the same time every day a man cornered us trying to sell necklaces. We politely refused and he became quite aggressive demanding money. We saw him most days around/in the property.

Surrounded by a chain-wire fence for protection, this ancient tree is a popular stop for visitors exploring the Zambezi River Drive near Victoria Falls town. It's an ideal spot for picnics and sunset watching, offering unique photo opportunities due to its impressive size and age.
🌳 A TREE-MENDOUS EXPERIENCE! 🌳 Visiting the Big Baobab Tree in Victoria Falls is truly unbeleafable! A bit of a walk but worth it! Magnificent Baobob tree! Locals say be careful for wild animals because the walk is in the country. We didn’t see anything worrisome!
Mona G — Google review
The oldest baobab in Africa. Amazing tree with funny story on the poster abut growing upside down. Next to, there is small market that you can buy handmade souvenirs. And On the Zambezi Road you can find many animals around, be careful with elephants.
Monika K — Google review
Sometimes busy with tourist busses and the tourists but impressive to see. Unfortunately fenced of because of tourists carving in the tree but still worth a visit. The craft market there is rather expensive that might have been because we were there early and money still had to be made
Dees P — Google review
This is the equivalent of those sequoia trees in the US. It is just one ginormous tree, several hundreds of years old. It is a Mubuyu or baobab tree. Currently it is fenced off by ZimParks and rightly so because curious onlookers have tended in the past to etch their names on the tree. There were no elephants in sight that day but this tree is within the national park so wild animals are expected. There is another massive tree of similar repute in Livingstone, Zambia. It is also a mubuyu 🌳 tree. It is known as the Look-out tree. It is also a very big tree. A coincidence?

Nandos Kirkland is located just behind the Giant National sports stadium along Kirkman road. The place has a fuel filling station. It is a quiet place free from street kids & vendors. It is a nice place to hang around with your family and friends.
Kenneth M — Google review
Since we don’t have baobabs in the US, this was my first ever baobab, and it was a magnificent experience. The bark, looking like elephant skin, suggests the extreme age of the mighty tree, and its huge girth adds to the impressiveness. Our taxi driver stopped here at my request as we were coming from the airport to our hotel, and it was only a 5-minute detour — absolutely worth it!

The Jewish Museum Livingstone offers a unique and insightful experience for visitors interested in the rich history of Livingstone. The museum showcases the contributions of the Jewish community to modern-day Zambia, including historical artifacts such as the first Jewish scroll. Additionally, it provides a glimpse into the former boomtown of Livingstone and its railway connections that attracted Jewish migrants from Eastern Europe seeking a new life. Visitors can also explore original trains at the museum, adding to the immersive historical experience.
I love this place! It's got such rich history and an amazing story. The original trains are still available for viewing. It's quiet, neat and clean. We asked for a conducted tour and the guide really enlightened us with insights I hadn't known before. If you ever get a chance to be in Livingstone stop by the Railway Museum and the Gateway Jewish Museum. I didn't know about how much the Jewish community contributed to modern day Zambia. I will definitely be going back to take it all in again. 5 stars! And more.

It was such an insightful experience. The staff are very welcoming and the tour guide is willing to have everything explained to you for a better understanding. It’s a go to site for my people who love sites that offer rich knowledge and also for my Jewish friends. Things like the first Jewish scroll are kept in this very museum. Not forgetting that it also the museum for the trains used by our forefathers. Very insightful experience indeed.

Amazing spot in the heart of Africa. Interesting history of former Northern Rhodesia. Livingstone once a boomtown with railway connections benefitting from the copper-belt. It attracted especially Jewish migrants from Eastern Europe - looking for a different life (pogromes started there in about 1900). During terrible German fascist times a couple of Jewish people managed to escape to here. While South Africa and Southern Rhodesia refused to issue Visa for Jews after 1939 it was still possible here. After independence many left the country …

Experience the ultimate thrill of white water rafting at Victoria Falls, where the mighty Zambezi River offers grade five rapids for an up-close encounter with the falls. The trip duration varies depending on the season, as high water levels during the wet season can affect safety. While cheaper tours may be available from street touts, they often compromise on safety. For adrenaline junkies, bungee jumping off Victoria Falls Bridge is also an option.
Highly recommended with Shearwater! We had a fantastic daytrip with Chris and his crew and if I was not completely sore today, I would book another tour straight away. This tour is for you, if you enjoy physical activity!!, lots of wild water, hiking and most of all spending time in untouched nature with local professionals! We were a group of 6 friends and were accompanied in the raft by Chris, our extremely experienced tour leader, and 2 highly motivated apprentice. Furthermore, 1 safety guard paddled ahead in a kajak and we were accompanied by another kajak to take photos and videos. Best team! We felt safe at any time and enjoyed the action and nature to the fullest. The day starts with a team introduction and detailed safety briefing. Afterwards we were transferred to the NP, received our gear under supervision of a team member regarding the correct fitting and started the descent into the gorge. It’s several flights of steep metal ladders, however you are constantly reminded by the team to not rush. Before entering the boat, another team member checks the proper fitting of lifewest and helmet again, before supporting you to get into the raft. Before approaching the first rapid, we trained and performed all possible commandos until our tour leader Chris was satisfied. Afterwards the fun began! We were on the water for roughly 4 hours, enjoying 19 official rapids (Level 1-5) , several freebies and 3 swimming stops. Drinking water was supplied and Chris checked in regularly how we were doing. Before the tour ended we watched another raft flipping and were reminded of the force of nature and how important great teamwork is in the raft. Of course we rushed to help and everyone was „rescued“ in a minimum of time. The fun doesn’t end with the last rapid though, we still had the steep ascent (700feet) back up to the top of the gorge ahead of us. It’s rough terrain. We were asked to carry our gear back up, however the team offered a hand at any time. Most important to Chris and his team, everyone was supposed to get back up safely. We had a 60year old lady conquering the tour with ease and another 59year old lady „suffering“: a decent level of fitness will be helpful. Act responsible and be true to yourself before booking this tour. Up on top a delicious, homecooked lunch (dietary requirements are considered) and cold drinks were waiting for us and everyone was proud and happy to have experienced this unforgettable adventure at Victoria Falls. THANK YOU Shearwater Team!

Mukuni Park Curio Market is a vibrant marketplace located in the heart of Livingstone, Zambia. It's a must-visit for those wanting to experience Zambian culture and craftsmanship. The market offers a wide variety of locally-made products, including colorful chitenge fabric, bags made from different trees, bracelets, and African maps featuring the big five animals. Visitors can enjoy browsing without feeling pressured by vendors and find unique souvenirs at reasonable prices.
You can buy here nice souvenirs. A lot of shops close to each other. I bought a few.

This is the best ever curio market in livingstone city With well customer service. You choose what you want and prices are good. You can also do bargaining. it is within the town center and well secured.
ROBERT S — Google review
Located in the heart of Livingstone, Mukuni Park Curio Market is an essential stop for visitors looking to immerse themselves in Zambian culture and craftsmanship. The market is a sprawling space, teeming with an extensive range of locally-made products that captivate your senses. From intricately carved wooden crafts to vibrant traditional clothing, the diversity of items on offer is impressive. Upon entering the market, you're immediately greeted by the warm smiles of local artisans who take immense pride in their crafts. As you stroll through the labyrinth of stalls, you'll find an array of curios, trinkets, and bangles, each telling a unique story of Zambia's rich heritage. These are not mass-produced items; the quality and craftsmanship are evident in every piece. If you're on the hunt for something specific, such as traditional Zambian attire, you'll be spoiled for choice. There's an assortment of colorful chitenge fabrics, beaded jewelry, and other traditional wear that make for memorable gifts or keepsakes. One crucial aspect to note is the art of bargaining. Haggling is part of the market culture, so don't shy away from negotiating prices. In fact, vendors expect it, and it’s part of the fun and interaction. If you're good at it, you might walk away with some fantastic deals. Given that Mukuni Park Curio Market is a day market, it’s best to schedule your visit during daylight hours. The market doesn’t have extensive lighting, and the experience is best enjoyed under the sun when all the stalls are open and bustling. In summary, Mukuni Park Curio Market offers an authentic and enriching experience, making it a highly recommended destination for anyone visiting Livingstone. Whether you’re a serious collector or a curious traveler, this market offers a chance to secure a tangible piece of Zambia's rich cultural tapestry.
Sampa S — Google review
Shopping place for everything traditional. Whatever prices they tell you, just know you need to negotiate it down to a better price you feel comfortable. Of course it's a balance between what the actual value of the item costs (which you will never know) to what you think the value would be.
Dexy ( — Google review
Every single thing here is 5-10x overpriced depending on how much you bargain. Be nonchalant and pull out chatgpt while bargaining, take photos of the thing you're looking at, and ask it what's the fair price. If they say that price is too low I can sell for X, just say ok then sell it to someone else for X and walk away. No reason to get price gouged in this day and age.

There is a lot of variety, and some diamonds in the rough. It is nice that it is a covered market. However, it is high pressure and the vendors come at you from all directions. Be prepared to negotiate hard and be somewhat forceful to leave the stalls and the area.

Knife Edge Bridge offers a thrilling experience for adventure seekers, providing a unique perspective of Victoria Falls and the surrounding natural beauty. Standing 420 feet above the Zambezi River, visitors can witness the roaring waters below and misty rainbows above. It's recommended to visit between March and June to fully appreciate the bridge's immersive encounter with nature. While it may not be suitable for those who are easily daunted, this attraction promises an unforgettable journey through one of the planet's natural wonders.
If you go in April, you will get completely soaked. Constant heavy showers over the bridge all the time and also at the other side. Get the plastic bag at the entrance and secure your things so you can enjoy and not have to worry about your phone getting damaged, or about a dripping wet passport with smudged out stamps like I did! Great experience!
Thekman — Google review
Inside the park to see the Victoria Falls from the Zambia side, the bridge is in the middle of the trail that offers the most intimate looks of the falls, in my opinion, better than the Zimbabwe side because the vintage points are much closer. You can tell because you're getting soaked way faster! A definitely visit you cannot miss!

Decent airport. Boarder customs, however, were strange. Had to show our Cape Town (departure) boarding pass to enter the airport off of the tarmac on arrival. If you buy the Kaza tourists visa for $50, they will only accept new or unblemished US bills. Minor tears or bent corners were rejected.

A huge step up from the old airport with clean losers facilities and a easy check in . After security there is duty free shopping a couple of cafes and upstairs is a lounge that is open to people with lounge key and priority pass . Note that flying business class on SAA or British Airways does not give you access to this lounge and these airlines do not have lounges here . The lounge is comfortable with free WiFi and a small selection of drinks and food .

Experience the awe-inspiring Victoria Falls from a whole new perspective with a helicopter flight. As you soar above the falls and zig-zag through Batoka Gorge, keep an eye out for wildlife like hippos in the Zambezi and elephants at the river's edge. It's an incredible way to capture the sheer size of the falls and surrounding landscape in a single photograph. Despite being a short 15-minute flight, it's considered a must-do bucket-list experience by many travelers.
One of the fantastic attractions is a helicopter flight over the Victoria Falls. The view from above of the falls, both from the Zimbabwean and Zambian side, is great. A huge waterfall, the Zambezi River, the gorge, a bridge that is over 120 years old and wild nature... In addition, the seat right next to the pilot, so you can observe everything even more through the window and under your feet. All stuff is professional and really friendly. A big wow and for me, and it is a must-do in Victoria Falls

We did the short (13 minute) Flight of Angels tour. They loop over Victoria Falls in a figure 8 pattern, so both sides of the helicopter have equally good views of the Falls. They do not sell the middle seat(s), so everyone has a window view - if you weigh less than 95kg, you can ride up front next to the pilot for an even more spectacular view. We highly recommend this experience!

Livingstone Railway Station offers a fascinating journey through history, showcasing the pivotal role of the railway in shaping the city's growth. It serves as a vital link for transporting goods between Tanzania and Zambia, with an efficient offloading bay capable of handling diverse cargoes. Travelers can also enjoy convenient access to Lusaka via overnight train services. The station boasts a spacious car park and is known for its user-friendly facilities, making it a preferred choice for many over other stations in the region.
Nicer than the train station in Lusaka.
Greg A — Google review
The train departs now only one time a week on Monday at 20.00 getting to Lusaka the next day Tuesday at 20.00. So 24 hours to travel 474 Kms. There is no longer 1st class sleeper only 6 bed 2nd class sleeper. The fare is 2nd class sleeper is K180
Andrew J — Google review
1st Class Sleeper cost K420, they are 4-bed cabins of varying quality. The train left on-time at 20:00 on Monday and was supposed to arrive at Kapiri Mposhi at 21:45 on Tuesday. However we arrived at 14:00 on Wednesday, so 16 hours delay and 42 hours total travel time. The cabins are not in good condition. Seating/bedding areas are very damaged, some windows are smashed or covered, the in-cabin sinks are non-functional, and there is no running water available anywhere on the train. The toilets are also troublesome, some a usable, some aren't. The restaurant car sells food (nishima + chicken or fish) for K100, which is a lot of money for what you get. However, the atmosphere in the public spaces is vibrant with friendly passengers and staff. It is easy to make friends here! Overall, I enjoyed the experience, but I can see how a regular passenger would not enjoy the bad state of the train or the schedule.

Experience the exhilarating Gorge Swing & Zipline at Victoria Falls with Wild Horizons. The ziplines offer a unique twist, allowing you to soar horizontally while sitting or lying down like Superman. The breathtaking views and dizzying heights make for an unforgettable adventure just minutes away from Lookout Cafe. With 9 zigzagging zip lines across the gorge, you'll have plenty of opportunities to take in the stunning scenery and capture memorable moments along the way.
A great adventure on the canopy zip line. Great briefing with good equipment. Staff were great and easily under directions. 9 zip lines zig zagging across the gorge. Chance at each zip change to take in scenery.
Caroline C — Google review
The zip lines had beautiful views but the guides were unfriendly/surly, barely saying a word the entire time. Then at the end they pointedly asked us to tip. Felt weird, especially as they did it before we returned to the office so it seemed they didn’t want the managers to see. Put a damper on the experience
Eleanor B — Google review
Awesome experience over the beautiful Victoria Falls. Would definitely do it again!

Really great experience. Long ziplines, right over the river near the falls. Staff was very friendly and filmed everything with my phone. Stunning adventure!
Frank B — Google review
(Translated by Google) The zipline itself was closed that day. The view of the gorge and the meandering Zambezi River look impressive. From a safari perspective, there have been some lizards roaming around here and walking here can pose the risk of encountering elephants. You should be a little careful. (Original) Die Zipline selbst hatte geschlossen an diesem Tag.

(Translated by Google) A spectacular zipline into the Zambezi Gorge. You "roll" from about 120 meters down to 30 meters above the roaring Zambezi River. In the lower section, you swing freely, offering views into two gorges. Breathtaking and unforgettable... then a staff member picks you up at the bottom (clips you into your cable) and tows you back up. The access point is right next to the Lookout Cafe (a fantastic viewpoint!) and about 200 meters from the main entrance to Victoria Falls! Highly recommended and suitable for all ages 12 and up – a third of our tour group did it.

Experience the Zambezi Dinner Cruise, a serene and enjoyable evening on The Malachite Dinner Cruise. Glide across the river while savoring grilled Zambezi bream as mist from the waterfall curls around the Victoria Falls Bridge. Excitement fills the air from nearby highwire activities, creating an essence of adventure. Delight in a sensory overload with every meal, complemented by attentive service and enchanting acapella performances at night's end.
Excellent dinner and cruise! Food was very good, service was excellent and we really enjoyed the cruise.unlimited drinks is great too!

Very serene and enjoyable dinner cruise. The food was good, especially the soup and dessert. The service was great, very attentive and helpful servers. Our children loved seeing the hippos and hearing them snort. The acapella group at the end of the night was a surprise but a very enchanting end to the evening. Would definitely recommend.
Jennifer S — Google review
Our agent recommended a dinner cruise on Zambezi Reflections, so we accepted their advice. We wish we hadn’t. For US$240 we had a very short cruise along the river until sunset whilst seeing a small number of hippos and one small croc. We then enjoyed watching the beautiful sunset. For the next 2.5 hrs though, we cruised for what seemed like only a short distance before sitting in the same place near the dock for a very long time. We could not tell for sure because it was pitch black and there was nothing to see. It was boring as batsh……. It was quite cold on the open deck with the breeze, once the sun set. We hadn’t realised this would be the case, so we had not brought warm clothing, and we just had to put up with it. The food was fine but the service was extremely slow. People near us had finished their main meals by the time we received ours. There was a repetitive group singalong by the staff at the end of the night was showed off some amazing voices. It really was a waste of time and (a lot of) money for what we experienced. A better option may have been to do just a river cruise during daylight hours.

I was on a solo trip when I took Victoria Falls: Dinner Cruise on the Zambezi River Organized by Pure Africa Limited, I was picked up at my hotel (the Ilala Lodge) in Victoria Falls and from that moment on this was a trip to remember. I cannot recommend it highly enough - the staff, the boat, the location the river, the sunset but above all the ambience and the food - it was an incredible evening, to prepare and present such great food on board was testament to the skills of the staff - I require a Gluten Free diet (no problem - I did alert them in advance but that was only fair) - everything was delicious - the company (other travellers) was and great seeing some animals and birds plus sunset was a bonus. Then delivery back safe to my hotel. Great value for a must do trip.

If you're exploring Livingstone, don't miss the Jewish Cemetery, a hidden gem that offers a glimpse into the area's rich history. Nestled near train tracks and surrounded by serene landscapes, this cemetery is both beautiful and poignant. During my visit with "Plan It Rite," I had the pleasure of meeting the owner, who was incredibly welcoming and shared fascinating stories about the site. It's an experience that truly connects you to the past while providing a peaceful atmosphere for reflection.
I went to the Jewish cemetery in Zambia with a tour company called "plan it rite" in January, and I was blown away! When we got there we met the owner, he was a really cool nice good looking guy, (I don't think that he is always there, I think he happened to have been there,) and he showed us the beauty of the cemetery. Its literally in middle of nowhere, right of the train tracks! I highly recommend to visit if you are in the area, and call the owner if you have any Questions he is super nice and helpful! Hope you enjoy!

This waterfall is famous for its enormous size & has a natural pool where visitors can swim.
Just the place to have a feel on how mighty nature is. Be prepared because there’s no chance you won’t come out dry, despite wearing a rain poncho or not. The views are incredible, although in winter the water flow is bigger so there’s less sight of some of the falls because of the mist.

What else can be said of this mesmerizing place. For reasons VFA is considered one of the 7 natural world wonders. Being there can not be described in words so you should just book the trip and visit!
Aleksandar Z — Google review
Victoria Falls had less water due to summer season which made viewing better. We had less must. The helicopter ride over the falls provides excellent views.
Kevin B — Google review
Incredible, of course! I highly recommend getting to the falls before sunrise. It's early, but the crowds aren't there yet and the falls are amazing at sunrise. About an hour or hour and a half after sunrise head towards the farther falls to see the rainbows over the falls. Each view spot is numbered. For sunrise, views 6-8 are good. For the rainbows 9 and higher are good. Also keep your eyes open for the many different birds and animals including bush buck deer, monkeys, and warthogs. Around 10am the crowds start getting heavy. If you go in the end of the dry season (August-September) the falls are easy to see but not as full. If you go earlier the falls are full but will be hard to see because of the mist created by the falls. Even around September 1st we had places where it was misty enough to obscure the falls and it felt like it was raining on us. Which was welcome relief from the heat! That leads to one other interesting point about the falls. Unlike the surrounding dry landscape, right next to the falls is green and lush. Almost rainforest like. It's an incredible experience. Don't miss the "smoke that thunders" as the local language calls the falls. It cost us $50 per person to enter the park. You do not need a guide for this, just get a taxi ride to the falls, pay the entry fee and enjoy. There is a nice outdoor cafe inside the park entrance. If you're up for a little walk (or you can take a taxi) I recommend walking to the "Lookout Cafe - Wild Horizons" for lunch. You'll pass a number of vendors, perhaps some more warthogs, and a dusty road. I'd estimate it's about 1/3 of a mile walk, maybe 1/2 mile. But it's a nice way to top off a morning at the falls. Enjoy!
Levi W — Google review
S V — Google review
It's one of the natural wonders of the world for a reason. Stunning and magnificent. I highly recommend the Zimbabwe side, since it has the better vantage points overall. The Zambia side gives you a complimentary view, so seeing both is not a bad thing, but do Zimbabwe if you have to choose one. I can also recommend going to Livingstone Island on the Zambia side as well, for an experience at the top of the falls that you will never forget.
Laura D — Google review
Fabulous place to visit, with many vantage points and great photo opportunities. The park entrance fees were a tuck up but that's Africa ... Beautiful and money hungry.
Rob A — Google review
God's majestic wonder. I don't understand why its no longer on the 7 wonders of the world list. Beautiful unexplainable wonder. Its breathtaking. The flora and fauna is like no other. Warthogs (Pumba) hang around like they own the place. The double rainbows 🌈, the roar of the water, the rain, the amazing views at every turn. There are about 20 view points, all amazing.

Nevertheless, the staff members are friendly and prioritize safety.
Definitely a must for adventure seekers! The staff were helpful, knowledgeable and ensured the safety of my harness. The views here are amongst the best in Livingstone.
